4 maintenance items are approaching or past their service milestones. Address these before purchase or negotiate the cost into the sale price.
No odometer data on record. Mileage is estimated at ~48,000 mi based on average annual driving. Items marked EST. OVERDUE may already be due — verify service history with the seller. Items marked OVERDUE are confirmed past-due based on vehicle age alone.
DUE SOONHighTransmission Fluid / Service
Service interval: 60,000 mi · Est. ~48,000 mi (no odometer on record)
Schedule Transmission Fluid / Service service before 60,000 mi
Degraded transmission fluid destroys clutch packs and solenoids. CVT transmissions are especially sensitive — neglected fluid can result in a $4,000–$8,000 replacement.
EST. OVERDUEHighDifferential / Transfer Case Fluid
Service interval: 4 yr · Vehicle age: 4 yr · Past due by age
Service Differential / Transfer Case Fluid immediately — already past the 50,000 mi / 4 yr interval
On 4WD/AWD vehicles, neglected differential or transfer case fluid causes metal-on-metal wear. Replacement costs $1,500–$4,000.
DUE SOONHighCoolant Flush
Service interval: 100,000 mi · Est. ~48,000 mi (no odometer on record)
Schedule Coolant Flush service before 100,000 mi
Degraded coolant loses corrosion inhibitors and attacks aluminum engine components. Can cause head gasket failure and water pump corrosion.
CASCADECriticalFailure Cascade
Cascade already triggered — downstream damage likely in progress
Have a specialist inspect all systems connected to the failed component before purchase
One failed component has created stress on connected systems. Repair costs compound quickly — a $500 fix can become $3,000+ if cascade damage is ignored.

1st Incident: Merging on to the freeway car started to stall but was able to safely make it off the freeway at next exit. Less than 2 miles was unable to accelerate to properly merge on freeway. A slow merge & slow driving on to a freeway is extremely dangerous. 2nd Incident: 6 months later, Nov. 2023. Driving about 65-70 MPH on the freeway with my son, the car started to stall again. I was able to safely move from the 2nd lane, to the shoulder. Waited over 2 hours in the dark for AAA to safely move us. 1st time documented issues with Hyundai dealership. Fuel injector was main issue and was replaced. No check eng light. 3rd Incident: May 2024 was driving about 75MPH in the fast lane when the car stalled. I was unable to move fully out of the lane as the car just died. I was half in the shoulder and the fast lane. I was crying with fear while I had to wait for CHP to move me. Multiple times feared other cars would hit me at 80MPH+ while I waited 30mins+ for CHP to stop traffic and move me to the shoulder. Took the car to the dealership for the second time to be "fixed" for the same issue as Nov. 2023. Fuel injector, and catalytic converter were "replaced". This now being the second time for the fuel injector issue. No check eng light. 4th Incident: April 2026 driving on a school night home from dinner with my son at about 9:45pm. It was raining and was traveling at about 55MPH on the highway. Car started to stall/ shut down again. Was able to go about15MPH to a safe spot and waited for assistance late at night. This happened on a highway where people tend to drive recklessly and try to pass other vehicles which causes a lot of head on collisions, [XXX] . Vehicle was towed to Hyundai dealership for the 3rd time & 3rd time documented for the fuel injector and 2nd for the catalytic converter. The vehicle's main purpose is to safely transport and I've had nothing but nightmares and put in extremely dangerous situations with my son. I PURCHASED THIS 2022 TUCSON LIMITED HYUNDAI NEW. IT HAS 25,000 MILES ON IT. THE CAR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A POWER REDUCTION BEGAN ALONG WITH SHAKING OF THE CAR. I WAS ABLE TO CLEAR THE INTERSECTION SAFELY. I WAS ABLE TO TURN INTO A SAFE SPOT AND SHUT DOWN THE CAR. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO THEN INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS AN INJECTOR KNOW ISSUE FOR THIS YEAR AND WOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE 5 YEAR WARRANTY. HOWEVER, AS THIS IS A ENGINE/POWERTRAIN PROBLEM, IT SHOULD BE COVERED ON THE 100,000/TEN YEAR WARRANTY. A TSB (23-FL-002H-1) ALERT HAD ALREADY BEEN ISSUED, BUT NOT A RECALL. MANY OWNERS HAVE REPORTED HAVING THIS PROBLEM REPEATEDLY, AS A SAFETY ISSUE AND A KNOWN MFG DEFECT. WHEN IS THE GOVERNMENT GOING TO STEP UP AND DEMAND A REAL FIX BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED? OWNER ARE CURRENT LEFT FIGHTING WITH THE DEALERS OVER THE WARRANTY LIMITS OR TAKING LEGAL ACTION. IF YOU GOOGLE THIS PROBLEM, YOU CAN FIND OUT THE NATIONAL LEVEL OF THIS PROBLEM, FROM ACCIDENTS WHICH CAUSED FIRES OR ACCIDENTS FROM POWER LOSS. MY CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALER WAITING ON PARTS. ITS TIME TO FORCE A RECALL! I WILL BE DEMANDING THAT IT IS COVERED FOR THE 10 YEAR WARRANTY PERIOD AND CONSIDERING TAKING ACTION UNDER THE LEMON LAWS. IF THE GOVERNMENT FAILS TO ACT ON THIS SOON, THAN THEY ARE JUST AS LIBEL AS THE MANUFACTURER. YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION TO THIS ISSUES IS REQUESTED.

When braking my 2022 Hyundai Tucson to come to a stop, the vehicle continues to accelerate. I have to release the brake and re-apply the brake to fix the acceleration problem. I check the internet on this problem. They internet says it is a software problem. The vehicle shows no code and the dealer says they don't have a problem. The dealer has not check for the problem since there is no code. No warning lamps or messages show up on dash. This happened 4 times in the last few months. Latest date was 4-4-2026

The car is dead if you do not drive it every 4 days. The battery and system have no power. It has happened multiple times over the past year. Have taken the car to Castle Hyundai of Downers Grove, IL. To date no resolution has been reached wh6 my car looses power. The dealer ran computer checks. Verified the battery had to be reset multiple times. Could not identify any issues with battery or hev system. Contacted Hyundai. Support stated their technical specialist conclusion waste make sure i drive the car for a half hour every other day. That was their "resolution". A car should be able to sit in a garage under normal temperatures for longer than 4 days without the battery system being dead for unknown reasons. The car is unreliable and does not meet safety standards as if they don't know why it's battery system is dead if it sits what to say it won't happen when I am driving down the highway.

While driving, I accelerated to merge onto the highway. The check engine light flashed a few times and the engine started wobbling like it was misfiring. I have also been having a parasitic drain on my auxiliary batter that makes the car not open to my key fob that I know works. The dealership told me it was bad fuel, but they “tested the fuel” with no diagnostic report/proof/records, saying that the fuel was bad and had a high concentration of 5% alcohol. They re-did the test and took pictures which shows the fuel is within tolerance but no diagnostic report and are refusing to complete a warranty checkup on my engine/electrical system. Also, the misfires with acceleration due to merging has happened 3 times. From the start back in July 2025 till now.

Brand/Model: Bridgestone Alenza AS Ultra Size: 235/60R17 DOT Code: 1W281AAU11925, W281AAU1025, W281AAU14124, W281AAU10525 Purchase Date: July 28, 2025 I am reporting a catastrophic and unpredictable treadwear failure on a set of four (4) Bridgestone Alenza AS Ultra tires (80,000-mile warranty / 800 UTQG). Despite professional maintenance, these tires have degraded to a legally bald and unsafe state (2/32") in less than 8,000 total miles. The tires exhibited a sudden "melting" effect. On October 31, 2025 (Odo: 28,330), a third-party inspection verified a safe tread depth of 9/32" with even wear. However, by February 20, 2026, the tires had dropped to 3/32", and by March 20, they reached 2/32". This represents a loss of 7/32" (70% of usable tread) in only ~3,800 miles. This rapid, non-linear degradation creates an emergency safety hazard, as the tires lost wet-weather traction and hydroplaning resistance in less than 30 days between service checks. Maintenance History: The vehicle (2022 Hyundai Tucson) has a documented history of proper care: Professional Alignment: September, 2025 (Insurance-certified). Tread Verification: October 31, 2025 (Confirmed 9/32" and even wear). Rotation Service: February 20, 2026 (Performed at 7,500-mile interval). The failure is global across all four tires, including the non-driven rear axle, indicating a fundamental rubber compound defect. Retailer (Costco)has denied warranty support, citing "rapid wear" as a non-covered issue, despite the tires failing 72,000 miles before their engineered lifespan. This defect leaves the consumer on the road with unsafe, bald tires that failed without warning.

The touchscreen is not reposnive to touch except in one tiny corner. We’re reported this at thw Hyundai dealership at least three times over the years- they said “they can’t see a problem”, which is odd because the screen literally does not respond to touch. When it’s hot, even with the AC on full blast, sometimes we will be driving and the touchscreen starts making beeps and starts going into the settings menu all on its own without being touched, and starts randomly changing settings. Or, we will connect a phone with google maps, and the screen will randomly change to something else or a different view. This is a dangerous distraction, and Hyundai has refused to acknowledge this problem. The screen is unusable, we are forced to use our phones to use navigation directions just to be safe in our own car. This has been an issue starting in 2023 and to this day has been persistent. We have done both hard and soft resets to ni avail. We have also reported, on going to the dealership, that the screen says to update- they have never provided any update or instructions on how to update, even though every time we go to the hyundai maintenance we are there for at least two hours or more.

This vehicle has a considerate amount of oil dilution problems. I have had this vehicle taken in for service several times due to gasoline mixed into the engine oil. Again on March 6 2026 for the 4th time now the vehicle has a check engine light extreme hesitation with an almost stopping jerking motion due to dilution problems. Multiple dealerships claim there is nothing wrong with the car.. there is a distinct gasoline smell in the engine oil. The vehicle at times is almost unsafe to drive due to the hesitation and halting it does on its own. Every time a dealership is contacted my problem is dismissed. There is a burning smell due to the oil gas dilution issue. The car reaches higher temperatures than it should. And now the Hyundai dealership is making me wait almost a month again to have the problem looked at again which then puts me as the driver in an unsafe situation to drive a vehicle with such hesitation and fire risk. If they dismiss this oil and gas mix again and do not repair the car it could seize my engine or maybe possibly even cause fire damage.

We brought our 2022 Hyundai Tucson into our local Hyundai dealership under warranty for Technical Service Bulletin MISFIRE DTC (P030X) – INTERNAL GDI INJECTOR LEAK REPAIR. We were surprised to learn the dealership did not have the parts in stock considering this is a widely known issue and we incurred significant expenses while waiting for the vehicle to be repaired. Expenses incurred: $211.47 for Enterprise car rental (2026 Hyundai Sonata) from 1/19/26 to 1/23/26 $140.00 to have the vehicle towed to the dealership since it could not be driven $18.14 for Uber to local rental car agency Total out-of-pocket expenses: $369.61 All documentation was presented to Hyundai corporate, but we have been waiting 3 weeks and the company has not reimbursed or provided any update. On a related note, to avoid the inconvenience of having to bring our vehicle in again for another known issue, we asked if the current recall on our vehicle could be completed while our car was in the shop for the week, but we were advised that our vehicle did not have any recalls. However, according to NHTSA.gov, there is an existing safety recall that was issued more than 2 months ago on December 19, 2025 (NHTSA Safety Issue ID #25V893000 / Hyundai recall #290). The fact that we were told there were no recalls on our vehicle is unsettling and this experience has us seriously reconsidering if we will be purchasing another Hyundai again.

ODI #11714101SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCECRASH1 INJURY

I was driving down the highway going about 60-65mph with cruise control and LKA on. I turned my blinker on to switch lanes, checked my blind spot, and moved over to the left. As I was doing so, a semi switched lanes from the left into the right (my new lane) right in front of me. The truck then slowed down a lot, and usually my Forward Collision Warning would say something if my Adaptive Cruise Control isn’t on (or is and I’m just going too fast to slow down) neither of those things happened. No warning. No automatic brakes. No slowing down. I tried to engage the brakes manually but nothing happened. I slammed into a semi at around 60mph because of 3 different system failures. Not only did I hit the semi at 60mph, apparently my brakes didn’t work at all and I spun out until I hit the concrete barrier on the highway. If my brakes had engaged automatically, I could have slowed down enough to avoid the collision altogether. And if they had engaged manually I could have at least minimized the damage to my vehicle (and myself) because I wouldn’t have hit the concrete barrier as well.

ODI #11713783POWER TRAIN

I am submitting this complaint due to a potential safety-related engine failure that occurred while my vehicle was under dealership repair. My vehicle was dropped off at Huffines Hyundai on October 2, 2025, for a fuel injector issue and has remained under the dealership’s exclusive possession since that date. I have not driven or had access to the vehicle after drop-off. During the repair process, I was informed by dealership staff that an injector was seized in the fuel rail and difficult to remove. Although the injector replacement was documented as a short repair, the work was delayed and completed on October 16, 2025. Immediately following this repair, on October 17, 2025, the engine was documented by the dealership as having low compression. I was not notified of this condition until October 27, 2025. The engine damage occurred while the vehicle was under dealership control and immediately following a repair involving seized components. The diagnostic documentation provided to me is incomplete and does not include compression PSI values or supporting data. I am concerned that improper repair or handling may have caused internal engine damage, resulting in a condition that could lead to engine failure or unsafe operation. Due to the circumstances and lack of transparency, I do not feel the vehicle is safe to operate and am concerned about the risk of engine failure.

ODI #11712981FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I have had numerous issues with fuel Injectors failing. The first incident was about 30,000 miles. This was fixed by the manufacturer not even 10,000 miles later, I once again had to return the vehicle, to be inspected by the dealership. Instead of replacing all of the fuel injectors at the same time they chose to only replace one. As soon as my car went over the 80,000 mile warranty limit, my fuel injectors went out once more. My mechanic son, has also changed several as well. I had to tow it, 100 miles to the Hyundai dealership, as I live in a rural area. I was told by a young lady, at the dealership, that it was be covered under the engine warranty, which is 100,000 miles. They weren’t even able to look at the car for a week charged me $250 for a diagnosis… After a week 1/2 dealership finally told me it would be over $3000 to repair.. NO! I had to pay to tow it back. I’ve been without a vehicle for five months. When the fuel injectors went out, it also damaged the high-pressure fuel rail, the high pressure fuel pump, and various sensors. This is dangerous, I live in a very rural area. It stopped operating out of the blue. It chugged/bumped a few times, and it was dead. This is inconvenient, and It’s dangerous, especially during the winter time where temperatures reach -20 regularly and no cell phone signals. I believe Hyundai is well aware, of the problem. In fact the service manager had mentioned that the parts were on backorder because apparently they are in quite high demand. No fuel injector should be going out in 15,000 or 20,000 miles, causing systemic failure. Hundai has made no effort to redesign failed parts. It’s quite disheartening, to replace/repair with a new defective part. That is going to go bad, in just a few thousand miles!! Im retired, on a fixed income. I bought new, so I wouldn’t have issues. Paying new prices, to drive junk. I’d just drop it off @ dealers, and walk away.. But the loan, is so upside down that isn’t even possible.

When getting onto the highway on November 30, 2025, the engine on my 2022 Hyundai Tucson made an odd sound, acceleration was compromised and the check engine light came on. My husband was driving and he safely navigated us off the highway and back to our home via city streets. We were very concerned we were going to break down on the highway or city street during a cold time of year. The next day we had the vehicle towed to a local auto service center and they diagnosed the problem as a failed fuel injector. They stated this was a known issue by Hyundai. The auto service center ordered the fuel injector kit to make the repair, but they were only allowed to repair the failed fuel injector, not all of them. I'm concerned another fuel injector will fail. If Hyundai knows about the fuel injector issue why haven't they issued a recall?

We heard a loud popping sound, immediately followed by shattering/cracking noises. It was not struck by any rocks or debris. After arriving at my location, the vehicle was immediately inspected at a Hyundai dealership where the determined the damage to be a manufacturing defect. This damage decreases the structural integrity of the vehicle and subjects it to water and electrical damage. There are multitudes of similar reports on forums across the internet. While driving our 2022 Hyundai Tucson Limited with the 2.5L engine and about 39,000 miles, the check engine light suddenly came on. Right away the car started behaving strangely. The throttle response became jerky and uneven, and when idling the engine ran at a higher RPM than normal and sounded off. The vehicle also struggled to accelerate, which made it feel unsafe to drive. Thankfully this happened while we were not on the highway, but if it had occurred while merging or keeping up with traffic, it could have been dangerous. Even in city driving, the jerky response and slower acceleration created risk. What would normally be a safe turn across or into traffic could easily have turned into a slower, delayed turn and a potential accident. When we got home, I checked the code and it said it was a cylinder misfire on cylinder 3. The car had been regularly serviced at the dealer and had never shown signs of this issue before. Based on the symptoms, I suspect it may be related to the fuel injectors, but we haven’t been able to get the vehicle in for inspection because local dealers are backed up. One dealer even told us it was fine to keep driving as long as the check engine light wasn’t blinking, which feels concerning given the way the car is performing.

2022 Tucson (NX4, Alabama built) 2.5L Engine experienced a catastrophic failure leading to Hyundai dealer diagnosis that "Cylinder #3 is not contributing properly," which requires a full engine replacement. The vehicle is currently located at home and is available for inspection upon request. The engine scuffing has resulted in a severe loss of power contribution from Cylinder #3, leading to potential for sudden engine stall or complete loss of motive power while driving. If the engine seizes or stalls at highway speeds or during a critical maneuver (e.g., merging onto a freeway or turning across traffic), it creates an unreasonable risk of a rear-end collision or a catastrophic accident, endangering both the driver and others on the road. Furthermore, the internal mechanical failure creates a significant FIRE RISK due to potential oil leakage onto hot exhaust components. The problem has been confirmed by Hyundai Service Center in El Paso, Texas and three independent service centers in Arizona and Texas. All four assessments concluded that the vehicle requires a full engine replacement due to severe internal damage. Inspected by Hyundai Service Center in El Paso, TX. Despite confirming failure, Hyundai refuses to provide critical diagnostic data (Power Balance Test, Endoscopic Inspection, DTCs) and the determined root cause. This refusal hinders warranty transparency. The Check Engine Light (CEL) did not illuminate. Symptoms appeared late September 2025 at approximately 88,000 miles (audible engine noise/scuffing, rough idle, significant power loss). This failure at non-typical mileage demonstrates a severe internal defect and a safety system malfunction (failure of the ECU/CEL to adequately warn the driver). Note: Dashcam video documentation of the engine failure symptoms (audible noise and power loss) is available and can be presented to investigators upon request.

I am submitting this complaint regarding an ongoing and dangerous issue with my 2022 Hyundai Tucson involving repeated fuel injector failures that have caused the vehicle to stall and lose power while driving, without any prior warning indicators. The first incident occurred in October 2023, at approximately 16,000 miles, when the car suddenly died while I was driving. There were no warning lights or signs of a problem before the stall occurred. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealership, where they replaced two fuel injectors. Just two weeks later, the same issue happened again—the car died while driving and was towed back to the dealership. The remaining injectors were then replaced. Unfortunately, this problem has continued. In November 2024, at around 26,000 miles, the vehicle again stalled while driving, with no warning, due to another fuel injector failure ( more failed injectors). Most recently, on October 18, 2025, with 31,000 miles on the odometer, my Tucson lost power and died while I was merging onto an interstate—once again with no warning or alert of any kind. I am still waiting for confirmation of how many injectors have failed this time. This is an extremely serious safety hazard. Losing engine power unexpectedly, especially while merging into highway traffic, puts both the driver and others on the road at significant risk of a collision or serious injury. Despite multiple occurrences, Hyundai has not identified the root cause of the injector failures and continues only to replace the faulty parts, which clearly does not resolve the underlying issue. It is unacceptable that a relatively new vehicle would experience repeated fuel system failures of this nature, and it is clear that there is a systemic defect affecting safety and reliability. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this issue to determine whether other Hyundai Tucson owners are experiencing similar failures and whether a recall or safety action is warranted.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Cylinder 4 fuel injector failed while driving 70 MPH down the highway. The dealer or manufacturer will have the faulty parts for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Loss of power and acceleration put me and others at risk; I could not go over 40 MPH on the highway, the car was lurching the entire time. Inattentive drivers being the main concern, with low speeds and driving/sitting still on the shoulder of the road. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the dealership I had it towed to confirmed the injector failed. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The manufacturer is aware of the issue. There is a TSB issued that asks the dealer to send the faulty parts back to them. They are fully aware of the issue and are choosing to replace faulty parts with equally faulty parts. The dealer told me the replacement injectors “are not supposed to have the factory defect” but confirmed they are the same parts. The computer(s) responsible for many of the safety systems have faulty software. The computer vision system incorrectly assess condition of the roadway and issues warnings that obscure the instrument cluster. The computer vision system also incorrectly determines that a collision is imminent (despite no obstacles being present) and activates the braking system. Hyundai has been aware of this issue since 2022 and has previously released a software patch to correct it. However, unpatched vehicles are still being sold (and resold) by Hyundai dealerships without being fixed because Hyundai has chosen to rescind the availability of the update. Unpatched vehicles are on the road preventing drivers from properly monitoring vehicle operation as a result of the continuous warning obscuring the cluster and are jeopardizing the occupants and other road users when the vehicles spontaneously initiate panic stops for phantom obstacles. Hyundai refuses requests to provide the existing update files because a future update with an uncertain release date is planned; release of the "upcoming" update has seemingly already been delayed 8 months.

These services are not listed in the Hyundai factory maintenance schedule, and no diagnostic evidence (photos, test results, or measurements) was provided to support the claim. It bogged down in the middle of both lanes, unable to exceed 13 mph, placing me in a highly dangerous position. After pulling over and leaving the vehicle off for 5 minutes, the issue temporarily resolved upon restart. 4) The vehicle is stored in a garage, and following the limp mode incident, I received repeated “door unlocked” notifications every 30 minutes from 2:30 AM to 5:30 AM, though the vehicle had not been accessed. These issues are of serious concern and appear comparable to conditions outlined in Recall #149 and Recall #236, both of which address similar malfunctions related to exterior lighting and powertrain performance. VIN# currently is not within the recalls.

I am submitting this complaint due to repeated and dangerous fuel injector failures on my 2022 Hyundai Tucson. This is the third time this issue has occurred in less than three years of ownership. •First incident: My vehicle broke down on the side of the road while I was 10 hours away from home in Florida. This left me stranded and required towing and repairs. •Second incident: The fuel injectors failed again, though fortunately closer to my home. •Third and most recent incident: The same issue happened again, this time with my wife driving—a major safety concern. We purchased this vehicle specifically to avoid breakdowns like this and for the safety and reliability it was supposed to provide. This recurring failure is unacceptable for a newer vehicle and poses a significant safety risk to my family and other drivers. Fuel injector failure can lead to stalling in traffic or on highways, increasing the potential for accidents. I urge NHTSA to investigate this matter, as it appears to be a systemic issue with this model and could lead to serious harm if not addressed.

The car keeps loosing power when it is over 90 degrees outside. On my way to work in the morning it has plenty of power but on my way home around 5 or 6 PM it struggles to gain speed. I’ve already had all the fuel injectors replaced so I don’t think it is related to that. It mainly happens when I slow down but not to a full stop around 20 MPH. Then it struggles to accelerate after that.

My fuel injectors has been blown and Hyundai will not replace all 4 when one goes out. So I have to keep going back up to the dealership to get it fixed each time. They always blow on the highway. There were no other warnings before this happens. It just happens and the engine light comes on as the steering will begins to shakes like crazy.

The vehicle's brake system intermittently fails after driving over bumps or uneven roads. The brake pedal becomes soft and unresponsive, and the vehicle continues rolling forward for several seconds before the brakes finally engage. This has happened repeatedly while driving home from work. On one occasion, the vehicle rolled through a red light and I had to swerve into oncoming traffic to avoid a collision. This issue first became noticeable in 2022 and has worsened over time. It puts both my safety and the safety of others at serious risk. There are no warning lights or error messages before or during the failure. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Independent mechanics have confirmed that brake pads, rotors, and fluid levels are in good condition. They suggested the cause could be air in the brake lines, a malfunctioning ABS system, or a faulty master cylinder—all potentially covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. The manufacturer’s service center initially refused to inspect the vehicle without an upfront diagnostic fee and only offered assistance after I escalated the matter through repeated complaints. The service director later described the issue as “unsettling but normal,” which is not accurate according to independent professionals. The problem has not been resolved and continues to occur regularly. I am requesting that this be formally investigated as a potential safety defect.

The first time it occurred about a month after purchased brand new in 2022, the car was coming from a stop light into the middle of an intersection. Driver was thankfully able to glide to side of road since it was early morning and had it towed to dealership. Second time it happened approximately 2 1/2 years later May 29, 2025, the car once again lost engine power at an intersection. Driver, again ,was in a fortunate position to glide off road from a right turn lane. If driver had been in left lanes going speed (55) this would not have ended as well. The car would not restart. Car was towed to dealership. The dealership confirmed that this was a known issue and there was a TSB out. However, there are no kits available to fix it at the moment. And we have no time frame for getting our car back and they have not provided a loaner. The vehicle has only been inspected by the Hyundai dealership. There were absolutely NO warnings before either incidents. However, once the car was in possession at the dealership, we received a phone call from Hyundai BlueLink saying we had a Powertrain issue, which did not make sense since our car had been sitting for two weeks unserviced. This last time they have had it for just over 3 weeks and said there are three or four of the same vehicle with the same issue that they are trying to get parts for. This is not coming up as a recall, but it has been an issue with safety because it tells us to immediately Park the vehicle and it loses engine power when accelerating which is very dangerous for navigating traffic. Insurance has not been involved as it is on warranty and there has not been an accident because of this issue yet. Please look into this because we do believe there should be a recall on this model. I know other people who are having the same issue with the same type of vehicle but on the Santa Fe. The issue starts out where they say it's just a gas cap. But then switching out the gas cap doesn't fix the problem.

On May 20, 2025, at approximately 76,100 miles, I attempted to open the fuel filler door on my 2022 Hyundai Tucson and found that it would not release. The car was unlocked and parked, but the fuel door remained stuck. I eventually managed to open it only after a frenzied random sequence of repeatedly pressing the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob while simultaneously pressing on the fuel door. The mechanism finally released after many attempts, but it was inconsistent and unreliable. A second incident occurred on May 26, 2025 at 76,460 miles when I needed to refuel. While I was not stranded, the experience was frustrating and concerning — especially since the vehicle does not appear to have any kind of manual emergency fuel door release. If this issue occurred while low on fuel or far from help, it could lead to a significant inconvenience or hazard. I brought the vehicle to a Hyundai dealership on May 28, 2025 and demonstrated the problem to a Service Advisor. The Advisor that assisted me was unaware of the problem and could not find a recall or Technical Service Bulletin (TSB). Since it is past the 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, I was told the issue would not be covered; I would have to pay out of pocket. However, I’ve read about other 2022/2023 Tucson owners experiencing similar failures, suggesting a possible design flaw in the fuel door actuator or latch assembly. I believe this should be reviewed as a potential defect. Consistent failures of a basic refueling mechanism across multiple vehicles should be taken seriously.

Unfortunately, the fuel injectors failed and had to be replaced far too early in the car’s life. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The fuel injection system failed. The injectors had to be replaced, and the problem persists even after the repair. I believe the issue may still be present and can be made available for inspection if needed. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle continues to run poorly and unpredictably, which puts me and my family at risk—especially while driving at higher speeds or in heavy traffic. I’m concerned about stalling, power loss, or a potential engine fire due to leaking fuel. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the issue was diagnosed and confirmed by the dealership, and the fuel injectors were replaced. Despite this, the engine still doesn’t perform correctly. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle was inspected by the dealership during service, but not by police, the manufacturer directly, or insurance representatives. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes, there were signs of rough idling, engine hesitation, and overall poor performance before the failure. These symptoms started appearing within the first year of ownership. Vehicle began shaking upon starting and was not accelerating properly. Engine light came on and a warning appeared on the LED screen to take care to dealer immediately. Upon inspection by the dealer, the problem was determined to be a faulty fuel injector (on Thursday 3/20). The part is NOT kept in stock at the dealer and was ordered from the warehouse for delivery the next day (Friday 3/21). I should have had the car repaired and returned to me by end of day 3/21 or next day, Saturday 3/22. I called after not receiving an update on Friday and was told the part is on BACKORDER. When the problem was diagnosed on 3/20, at the Hyundai dealer service department, the employee in the service department admitted that this was a common problem with the Tuscon and that no recall had been issued. He also said that the car is NOT DRIVABLE until the issue is fixed. A quick Google search showed that is very much a serious and common issue. I also appears that once one goes out, the rest will start to need to be replaced and are being done AS THEY BREAK, rather than replacing them all and/or fixing what is causing them to be faulty. I was told they have no idea when the parts will be ready. It clearly is a common problem if they do not have the parts readily available to fix my vehicle. In addition, he added it may take up to several weeks. The car just turned 3 years old and has 34,000 miles on it. I have NEVER had such a bad issue with any new care I have owned. There was absolutely no indication anything was wrong on prior drives before starting up the car. I had just driven it 260 miles to my daughter's college and back. Thank goodness it didn't happen on the busy highway or on one of the country roads in the middle of cornfields. The dealer service employee said the broken part would be "sent for inspection" once they have it off and a new part available.

Fuel injector failure. Sudden loss of engine power creates a major safety issue when traveling at speed on highways or especially busy interstate highways. At present, Hyundai only authorizes one be replaced at a time as they malfunction.

While driving 70mph on the freeway, the car’s emergency braking assistance activated twice for no apparent reason. This is very dangerous at such high speeds and could result in a serious accident if cars are following close behind. This car has not been inspected for this issue. A google search of this issue revealed many similar complaints that have not been addressed or taken seriously. A possible related warning message about “blocked forward safety” has appeared a few times in the last week.

2022 to hyundai tuscon now with the third cylinder misfire due to faulty fuel injector. This can be inspected upon request. Upon second occurrence, requested all cylinders be replaced and advised could not do this under warranty. Second filing to NHTSA. This incident put myself and other drivers at risk. I was driving on a highway and the cylinder misfire occurred resulting in check engine light and vehicle going into limp mode and inability to drive more than 30-40 mph. The entire vehicle violently shakes and loses power with this misfire. In the previous occurrences , could not accelerate beyond 20 mph. I could have been rear ended or caused a serious accident on the highway as a result of Hyundai faulty fuel injectors and cylinder misfires. My vehicle has now been seen 3x for the same issue and replaced by dealer. There were no warning signs prior to the failure of the fuel injector resulting in cylinder misfire and loss of power and inability to accelerate. This is a very dangerous faulty component of this year make and model- it is a known issue. Still no recall. I have a "new" car that puts me in danger every 4-6 months when I lose power in my vehicle with no warning or cause except from faulty parts. This faulty part is going to cause serious injuries/accidents if it is not addressed.

While driving approximately 75 mph in the passing lane on highway, the vehicle suddenly automatically brake. Pulled back into the right lane and didn't really understand what happened. Next time i pulled out to pass and had a car on my right hand side it did the same thing. Pulled back into right hand lane and stayed there for quite some time. I then turned off the all around sensor @ and it didnt do it again but as i got closer to home the warning light came on and a message popped up. It now has the triangle caution sign on and the picture of car icon in amber. I had driven the car from my home for about 50 miles and parked car for two hours, the drove back toward home for about 20 miles when the event happened. It was dangerous and makes not want to use any of the "assist system's" going forward. I plan to wash the car today to see if the lights will go off- if they don't then i shall call dealer on Monday. This occurred on saturday. Ill be washing car today (sunday). If i had anyone driving closely behind me, i for sure would have been rear ended.

I was able to pull off the freeway but, in an area, where I was unfamiliar. I was able contact family nearby who assisted me in driving the car slowly to a Hyundai dealership about 15 miles away. It needed to be towed to a Hyundai dealership about 50 miles away from my home. I am currently waiting for them to diagnose the problem.

On 10-11-24 the panoramic sunroof on our car exploded. We were driving at the time at approx 45mph, clear and 60° out, and we heard a loud bang and in looking around for the cause saw the sunroof looked like crackle glass. We closed the sunshade in case it fell on us, and within a minute it did just that. Had we not closed that shade we would have been showered with glass. We did not see any obstacles coming at us and there were no cars around close enough to throw up a rock. After calling our insurance company to start a claim I did some research online while waiting for the adjuster to call. I discovered the class action suit regarding the exploding sunroofs and realized that is what had just happened to us. I then spoke to Hyundai customer service and started an incident report. We were finally able to take the car to a dealer on 10-31-24 and requested the repair be covered under the limited warranty. They eventually agreed to repair it under warranty and we picked the car up on 11-29-24. We were without the use of it for 7 weeks. We knew we would never trust that it wouldn't happen again and that we would need to trade it in. We did just that 3 days later at a different dealership. Of course we lost money on the car. There were no prior warnings with any lights, noises, or anything. No other vehicles or people were involved and no police report or anything was made. Had we been going faster or on a multiple lane road, or had the glass fallen as soon as it exploded, I believe the shock and reaction would have ended in an accident and severe injury to us or others. Pictures are available but they were taken after we cleaned up the mess.

Trailing arm bushings on both sides appear to generate considerable noise indicating wear (has been since delivery but getting much worse over this year). Dealer's solution was to simply lubricate them. The owner manual says nothing of this, and I think this is a simple "go away" band-aid solution. Attempted to reach Hyundai corporate, who asked me to confirm with the dealer if that is proper. That seems like a question for engineering, not the dealer who applied the band-aid fix. It is apparent that the bushings they affixed to the vehicle are defective and could possibly cause larger issues down the line -- far enough down the road when Hyundai can claim they are a wear item and need to be replaced.

This happened again a year later with a different fuel injector. I just got my car back 2 weeks ago and it is doing it again. I will have it towed but NOT to the dealer this time. They told me it wasn’t a problem with this car, until I called them out on it. Then she said she misunderstood. They are well aware of the problem. ODI #11618005VISIBILITY/WIPER

The component that failed are the visibility with headlights being completely snow packed and covered in a snow storm. The lights themselves did not fail, but the design causes snow to get stuck over all the headlights, which continues building to a point where 99%+ of light blocked. This has occurred numerous times since owning the car, easily 20+ times. VERY dangerous, oncoming cars will flash their headlights because the Tucson headlights are completely covered. Visibility is greatly decreased. Have to pull over multiple times driving in snow storms to break the snow and ice free from the headlights, only to build up again once driving. This puts not only our lives, but other drivers lives at risk. Just imagine driving in winter conditions, at night, with no headlights. Mentioned to dealer, but not documented anywhere and was not given any serious consideration. At that point we were focused on trying to get the power loss/hesitation and extremely rough shifting fixed. Big design flaw with the combination of headlights built into the grill, and with new technology, the lights must not get hot enough to melt the snow. Anyone who thinks that driving in a snow storm, at night, and no headlights isn't a huge safety issue or that this is exaggerated, I invite you to come take a ride with us this winter.

I got about 300 feet from where I was going, not even ten mph, and the vehicle started shaking the same as minutes before; this time, a check engine light came on. I immediately parked it in a safe spot and called for Roadside Assistance. The dealership that serviced the vehicle informed me the DTC code was P030400, meaning the Fuel Injector for Cylinder 4 had failed. It was luckily replaced promptly. This was the second GDI Injector that had been replaced on the vehicle. Unfortunately, I was told there was a service bulletin on the problem and that the dealership was seeing a lot of this problem. I contacted Hyundai Motors America directly to try proactively to get the remaining two injectors replaced. Still, I was told that because there was no current issue with the injectors, they would be unable to provide any assistance proactively. The vehicle had 35645 miles on the motor when this incident occurred.

I was driving the car home on 8/20/24 at roughly 50 MPH, and I felt this brief bucking motion with the vehicle and a loss of power to the motor. I reached out to the dealership, leaving multiple voicemails, and after over a week of trying to get them on the phone, I went in person and scheduled an appointment for them to service the vehicle on 8/28. They were not able to see the vehicle until 9/3/24, and after talking with the service manager and reviewing my car history, they were confident it was another injector; he was ordering the parts because he said he didn't have any, and it would take a bit to get them. The car went in on 9/3 as planned, and they called to confirm that Cylinder 1 had an Air-Fuel Ratio imbalance and that the GDI Injector had failed. They had gotten in the injector but did not have the High Press Pipe needed to go along with it, and they would have the pipe in by 9/6. I'm unsure when the pipe arrived, but I called in mid-afternoon on 9/9/24, and they were wrapping up my vehicle and that it would be ready shortly. They performed the standard 34-point inspection on the vehicle and did not find further issues. I reached back out to Hyundai Motors America as I had reached out to them after my second Injector failed; at the time, they were unwilling to replace the remaining injectors proactively. I've now opened my second case with Hyundai Motors America. I am communicating through email now, and I do not believe Hyundai is willing to replace the final fuel injector proactively, even though the vehicle only has one original injector remaining, and based on the bulletin Hyundai has out, the chances are pretty good it will soon fail too.

The Apple Car Play goes on and off at random. It works perfectly about 70% of the time, then will not work for no apparent reason. While trying to get it reconnected, the Seat Heater on the driver's side would come on. This has happened many times so I want to mention it in case it's connected. I don't think I've accidentally engaged it that many times. It poses a risk because it takes my attention away from driving and could cause me to run into the car in front of me. I purchased a Hyundai tucson 2022 in November 2022 and Ive been having great issues with the vehicle since. Ive had to bring the car in over 3 times in less than 2 years for powertrain issues. The first was in Oct 2023, then Nov 2023, followed by Jun 2024. Today is engine light is back on and the diagnostic code is saying Powertrain. The car misfires and there is little or no acceleration. This happened on the highway more than once and i was terrified. Also the car does this jerky shaking thing. When i spoke to the dealer about it they made it seem like an uncommon issue but after doing my research, there are lot of complaints about similar situations.

It took me 3 weeks to get an appointment. I feel this is a safety hazard and they need a recall. It only affects certain vins it says and mine is one of them. I’ve read many complaints all they do to “fix” is unplug amp and plug back in. It works for awhile and then it happens again. So the way it’s being fixed is just a bandaid.

On August 13, 2024, while merging onto the freeway with a driving speed of around 45mph, my car suddenly lost acceleration and started shaking. Seconds later, the "check engine" warning indicator light came on as well. I slowly got off the freeway still without acceleration power and found a safe place to park the car. I contacted Hyundai Roadside Assistance to request a towing service to the Hyundai dealer. I left the car at the dealer overnight and contacted the Service Advisor the next day. The Service Advisor stated that one of the fuel injectors was defective and will be replaced under the warranty. After researching online, defective fuel injectors for my car are a well known issue from the public and Hyundai service departments (2 related TSBs were issued in October 2022 and March 2023). Incredulously, per the Service Advisor, Hyundai will only replace the defective fuel injector one at a time. NHTSA should demand Hyundai to recall all affected vehicles listed in the TSBs to replace all fuel injectors at the same time (defective or not) to prevent another sudden acceleration power loss, which may cause a major traffic accident and great bodily harm.

Car lost power as I was entering fast traffic area. Acceleration became unresponsive and vehicle came to halt. Would not move there after. Had it occurred a few seconds later I would’ve found myself unable to accelerate in an acceleration lane, or shortly after merging potentially causing injury to myself and others. After getting the issue diagnosed by Hyundai it is apparently a faulty fuel injectors. Researching online, this appears to be a known problem for the 2022 Hyundai Tucson with many claiming they were left stranded on highways, at intersections and during snow fall. In general this issue makes owners fearful to drive their cars. Apparently, this may be caused by a bad batch of injectors but to my knowledge Hyundai only replaces known bad injectors instead of replacing all injectors from the faulty batch. Due to this many experience multiple failures in short periods in short periods of time, increasing risk of safety incidents. My vehicle’s failed at approximately 22k miles but others have reported failures much sooner.

2022 Hyundai Tucson with repeated check engine light and vehicle losing power. Vehicle losing power and inability to exceed speeds of 15 mph with vehicle shaking, knocking, and pedals shaking. No warning that this was going to occur until vehicle becomes unsafe to drive. This has happened twice and one of which was on a high way which created an incredibly unsafe situation. First time diagnostic code was P0303 which was a cylinder 3 misfire and second time - less than 4 months later- diagnostic code was a P0302 cylinder 2 misfire. Hyundai only repairs one injector at a time; refusing to do all 4 despite being a heavily documented issue on this make/model. This would be able to be confirmed by request. This was also confirmed both times by two separate independent service centers. Vehicle has about 25,000 miles on it and has had 3 check engine lights over the past 3 years of owning- it was bought new. The first time was 2 days of owning and it was a bad IAT that resulted in engine stalling once again. We fist noticed a problem with the car having a hard time accelerating and a hard shift at 25-35 mph back at the end of November. We then got a check engine light that came on that said P013A00 Powertrain. We brought it to the dealership the first week of December and were told that the transmission just needed an update. Upon taking the car home it was better for about a week then the issue came back sporadically. Then on March 20th my wife was driving the car and it would not accelerate past 35 mph while getting onto the interstate. Cars were going by her at 70+MPH as she sat there helplessly pressing the accelerator. Eventually she got the car up to 50 mph but it would not go any faster. We brought it into the dealership that day and once again they said the transmission needed an update. I then contacted Hyundai corporate and submitted a complaint and they started a case for the issue. After the second time at the dealership the car was ok for a week and then started with the same issues. After taking it to several other dealerships they all tell me that it’s a transmission issue that they don’t know how to fix but they change what they say once Hyundai corporate talks with them. Presently the car will have very high RPM and jump forward almost colliding with cars in front. It will also not accelerate such as the peddle is on the floor and the RPMs are high but the car will barely move until it shifts gears and jumps forward.

NHTSA Complaint On Sunday, March 10th 2024 our 2022 Hyundai Tucson with 2.5L engine started missing in one of the cylinders. It did not disable the vehicle and it ran like that for several blocks until we could pullover to safety. At this time there were no warning lights of any kind. It wasn’t until I turned the car off, checked the oil (which was good), started the car again and did a lap around the parking lot that the check engine light came on. So there were no warnings. We dropped the car off at our local Hyundai service center that night so it could be checked first thing the next day. It turned out that it was a bad spark plug and injector. At that point it was no big deal. We chalked it up to a fluke. We received the car back on Thursday, March 14th with the explanation of what happened and that it was replaced under warranty. There were NO RECOMMENDATIONS made upon pick up. Exactly 2 weeks later on Thursday, March 28th, the car lost all power while traveling 60mph in the middle lane of the interstate. Again, there were no warning or diagnostic lights coming on. It was pure luck that there was minimal traffic and other drivers were paying attention as the car came to a complete stop in the middle of the highway in order to be restarted and it refused to accelerate above 20mph in order to limp to the shoulder and get to safety. Over an hour later and stopping and starting the car in a parking lot, the check engine light finally came on. The engine was running worse this time. The car had to be towed this time to the service center. After being checked out it was another spark plug and a fouled fuel injector. Researching online showed that this is a very common issue with Hyundai fuel injectors between 12,000 and 25,000 miles. There are currently no technical service bulletins or recalls warning owners of this common failure and potentially losing power traveling at high speeds. Research showed there have been 3 collisions caused by this exact issue to date.

This is the third time I had issues with my 2022 Hyundai Tucson losing power, being unable to accelerate, and/or completely losing power and stopping. I already created an NHSTA report/complaint when the first incident occurred 11 months ago (NHTSA ID Number: 11507213). Since then, the issue occurred twice (has 33,000 miles & always maintained). I am a professional female in [XXX] . The 2nd time was at night [XXX]; I was on my way to a program for work, car decelerated. I could navigate, with great distress and frustration to a side street where the car shut off completely. I contacted my husband, my supervisor (who delayed the program start for a few minutes, then began without me), Hyundai Blue Link and AAA. My supervisor sent someone to pick me up so I could be present at the program and make my presentation. A colleague returned me to my failed vehicle. I called AAA for an update on the tow, which I was told would not be for another several hours after midnight. My colleague drove me home (16.5 miles one way: my husband was even further away) as I would have again been alone in my vehicle at night (without heat). This third time (Jan 2024), I used the climate start for at least 12 minutes before driving. The car never gained acceleration above 19 mph, occurring immediately. I thought it was just a cold engine that would dissipate as I drove, but it didn't. Since I could not get the engine to accelerate, I could not get heat. It was as though the engine was draining all the functions of the vehicle. There were no cars in front of me, but several drivers behind me were very angry; amazingly, no accident occurred. Finally drove to dealer, called Uber, and was late to work again! Purchased my Tucson after engine issues with my Hyundai Sante Fe. Both purchased new with many extended warranties, assuming I'd have a safe and reliable vehicle. Car still at dealer (10 days). While driving uphill, the car lost power, beginning to spurt and stalling. Then the car was not able to accelerate while car kept spurting and stopping. It was a dangerous situation as this happened while we were driving, in the middle of the road, while going uphill. Thankfully it was at night and there were no cars behind us but if there was we would have clashed into it. Towed the vehicle to the dealership and was informed that the same year TUCSON came in the night before with similar problems. It appears that there is a pattern to this safety concern. Please take action before someone gets hurt. Car shutting off like this while driving poses safety concerns for drivers and all the people around it. Even with fix, I don't feel safe driving unless I see actions taken by Hyundai to solve this apparent issue with powertrain/engine.

Luckily both times J was close to home and was able to turn around. This came with no warning. Both times, I had previously driven the car that day with no issues. When I went out for another trip, the vehicle then had an issue. I am concerned the fuel injectors for this vehicle/model may have a defect of some kind, as I have lost two in a very short amount of time. If this happened in a congested area or highway it could absolutely present a safety issue. The first incident occurred when the vehicle had about 59,000 miles on it.

I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding a series of ongoing safety issues with our HYUNDAI TUCSON 2022 (leased in 2022). We have encountered alarming problems that are affecting the safety and reliability of the vehicle. On July 29, 2023, my husband was driving the vehicle up a sharp incline when the car started shaking/jolting and abruptly shut off. This resulted in a highly dangerous situation as the car began to roll back. He was unable to restart the vehicle, and it had to be towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership. It took over a week for the dealership to address and rectify the issue...so we thought (see below). Also, please note that there was smoke coming out from the exhaust when the tow truck came. It looked like smoke from a flame inside. Fast forward to November 8, 2023, the vehicle was experiencing the same issue as before: continuous shaking/jolting, and the vehicle abruptly shut off once again... stalling in the middle of a highway. A police officer saw what happened and helped my husband relocate the vehicle to the shoulder of the highway to avoid oncoming traffic/collision. He waited with my husband as he kept trying to get the vehicle to turn on. After 30 min, he was able to get it back on. The "check engine" light was illuminated. My husband drove home while the car was still shaking/jolting. We plan to, once again, have it towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership today. We were told the issue had been "resolved" from the last time this happened in July. Clearly, it was not resolved and I feel this vehicle should be recalled. These recurring problems are deeply unsettling for a vehicle that is not even two years old. Given the repeated and unresolved safety issues with this vehicle, I am concerned for the safety of myself, my family, my unborn child as I am expecting and other road users. I would like to request your immediate attention and intervention to address these problems effectively.

On 10/17/23 I was driving about 55 MPH up a hill when the vehicle began to decelerate rapidly and would not accelerate. The vehicle was shaking and jerking and would not go over 34 MPH. I was fortunately in the right lane and was able to make a right turn into a long merge lane. I turned off the car and tried to start again, and it began shaking uncontrollably while making a strangled noise. I pressed on the gas and smoke began to exit the exhaust. I turned the vehicle off again. I waited about another 5 minutes to try to start the vehicle and was met with the same scenario as above. This time, all the lights on the dashboard turned on; car battery, engine, oil, etc. The brake pedal was also locked up, unable to depress to put the car in neutral. Had the car towed to the dealership and the service advisor indicated it was most likely the fuel injector. He started the vehicle and the same strangled sound and shaking started. The cabin quickly filled with the smell of gasoline. The service advisor stated that it would take maybe a week or more before the vehicle could even be seen as all service centers in the area were understaffed and backed up. No rental/loaner car is allowed to be issued until the car is diagnosed by the technicians. Earlier in the day, the Bluelink app was not functional to remotely start the vehicle. Attempted to remote start the vehicle from two devices, no success. Called Bluelink and the rep had me delete and redownload the app, reset the system in the car by pressing the small reset button, and even tried to send a remote start request from her end and was unsuccessful. System failure: Powertrain/transmission. Safety: Driver is stranded without vehicle four hours from home. Driver and passenger could have been rear-ended when vehicle stalled and slowed. Confirmed and Inspected: Vehicle was towed at Hyundai's expense to local dealership but cannot be examined for 9 days. Warning: Engine light came on and vehicle was immediately parked. Symptoms: The 2022 Hyundai Tucson was purchased new on April 14, 2022, and has only 13,800 miles on it. Early in September 2023 when accelerating, the tachometer went way too high; and the vehicle stalled like it was in neutral. Four times on September 15, 2023, at 60 MPH, the vehicle jerked like it was going over rough pavement and fish tailed in the rear end. On September 16, 2023, at 60 MPH, the vehicle again acted like it was on rough pavement. When slowed for in-town traffic a few minutes later, the vehicle began jerking and shuddering constantly at around 30 MPH and would go no faster. The vehicle was barely able to go up a small incline, and the engine light came on. The vehicle was parked immediately. Today, September 18, 2023, Hyundai Customer Care towed the vehicle, at its expense, to the closest Hyundai dealer four hours away from where the driver lives. The local dealership cannot look at the vehicle until September 25, 2023, at 2:30 PM. The dealership where the vehicle was purchased refused to tow the vehicle at its expense and would only say "We can't do anything until we look at it." When I’m at a dead stop, and start to drive off, there is a jerking at around 13 miles per hour. I believe it is when it is shifting from first into second gear. It happens often, but not all the time. This happened when I first bought my car, and I was told that the car has to get to know me. I thought this was true, because it seemed to have stopped at some point for a while. Now it is doing it again, but more dramatically. The jerking is very obvious. Also there have been about 5 times when the car revs by itself when I am in the 40’s. I am not pressing heaving on the gas, I am just driving, and it sounds like it slipped out of gear for a second and the car is revving, and then it just goes back to normal.

Since I received my car, within a few couple of months I have noticed that the car would jump forward when changing the RPMs/gears. When I had brought it in for an oil change, I had mentioned it to the service tech and they told me they would run a diagnostic to see if anything would pop up but the likelihood hood it wouldn't show anything. The second time I mentioned it again while I was driving, the car would accelerate faster than normal as though it was on Sports Mode even though it wasn't, and then the car/engine would jump or make the car lunge forward as it was slowing down. They said they would look into it again but nothing was found. a few months later I was driving home on the freeway when my car jumped again, the engine turned off and I was in the middle of the freeway not being able to accelerate but take the speed I was going to move over to the emergency side in order not to get hit by another car. I got it towed into the dealership, they said they would get back to me after a few days and once they found out what happened, they had my car for about 2 weeks. They also wanted me to pay for a fuel system flush and returned the car to me on empty gas which was full when I brought it in. The back passenger window wasn't working either and I had brought that up to their attention saying if I were to bring it back in I would need to pay for a diagnostic to get it fixed. I was upset and brought it into another dealership to get fixed and mentioned again about the car jumping and afraid that I would be left on the side of the road or the engine would turn off again. They couldn't do anything without an engine light to be turned on. I'm afraid of driving my car but why am I paying for something that the dealership cannot fix or know that whatever they did wasn't fixing the problem? I have brought in my car time and time again to get seen or fixed before the major issue happened and now electrical parts of the car are faulty with things turning off randomly.

This Tucson Limited has 3500 miles on it from purchase last September - 2022. Less than 1/2 mile from home and accelerating to about 35mph the engine lost power where speed reduced to about 20mph, acted like air intake was being choked. Did not see any caution lights on the dash. I coasted for 30 feet - luckily the street had no traffic - and the engine began to operate normally. I continued traveling about 2 miles and it happened again but briefly - still on town roads, continued driving and it happened once again climbing a hill. Made it part way up and power came back. Continued driving to destination another 2 miles, parked the car for about 45 minutes, came back, car started normally, drove home without incident. If this occurred on a busy road or highway I'm sure the trip would have ended in an accident. I believe this is a dangerous fault. Car is in for service now and they say the ECU was updated. -There are 3 problems. The 1st and most dangerous, is a combo of the engine, transmission, and fuel system. The 2nd is malfunctioning sensors. The 3rd is water leaking in under my glove box onto the floor mat. The car upon 3 different occasions has stopped accelerating in the middle of traffic. 1st: the car would not go past 30mph and it stuttered/ shook. I parked and turned the car off, but 5 minutes later it reset and ran "normal". The 2nd time in Dec 2022, I was on Annapolis Rd.(Maryland) at about 10pm while alone. It would not accelerate past 35mph, the check engine light came on, and the engine/transmission started shaking and stuttering. I was almost rear ended so I pulled over. The next day when I called the dealership, the car had once again reset itself. The dealer brushed me off, said the cars are so computerized that if they couldn't replicate it they couldn't fix it and said they were backed up on appointments. The 3rd time, the car stopped accelerating on the beltway as I was taking my exit home, almost got rear ended, as I was pulling off the exit and trying to pull over the car started producing white smoke and the smell of gas, the engine control system (1st time of these 3 instances) alerted to shut the car down. The gear shift would not work properly while trying to shut it off. It massively leaked gas out of the vehicle and into the oil/ oil filter. While broken down, multiple cars almost ran into it as it had shut down after a major intersection. The car almost exploded/ caught fire. It was towed to an autobody shop to be inspected as I did not trust the dealership. No repairs were made. Only an oil change and new oil filter. There was a random misfire code. But ran normally once reset. There was no damage that he inspected and called it a Lemon. The dealer has the car, and has yet to diagnose it or give me a loaner. All regular maintenance performed and all system checks have come back normal up to this point.

I have a 2022 Hyundai Tucson with about 15k miles on it. I have had it serviced twice for oil changes and the recommended manufacture recommended maintenance. However, I have noticed a SIGNIFICANT loss in power upon acceleration with this vehicle. My new car drives very rough and this is a safety issue due to the fact when entering the interstate, the car will not increase speed as requested putting myself and others on the road in danger. Additionally, simple maneuvers like turning into cross traffic are of concern because the vehicle doesn't respond to acceleration when accelerating from 0mph as well as in stop and go traffic. There are no engine lights or codes that I can visibly notice but even in sport mode the acceleration of the vehicle is not responsive. This is a KNOWN issue at Hyundai as one local dealership offered me a service visit 6 months out because they are so overbooked with these issues. A quick Google search also brought up numerous owners experiencing similar and and escalated issues to include complete engine failure and vehicle overheating. This vehicle needs to be recalled immediately! I experience this loss of power EVERY SINGLE TIME I DRIVE and I don't feel safe driving my new car anymore. I have mentioned this to my dealership and they are going to take a look at it today. Therefore, I am left driving a vehicle that WITHOUT warning can stall on the road which is a MAJOR safety risk!!!! This is absolutely not acceptable. This should be a recall! The dealership stated they can replace the remailing 3 fuel injectors for $799.00 pre-tax. I asked what batch of fuel injectors are they using and the Service Manager stated the new and improved. The old batch was discarded!!!! How is this legal??????

The car only has 23000 miles and has been kept up with Hyundai’s scheduled maintenance from their dealership. The engine is knocking and experiencing rough idle. Once I arrived I was able to read that there was an engine cylinder 2 misfire. About an hour later the “MyHyundai” app sent the same error codes. It took the tow truck driver 15 minutes to go 10 feet to the flat bed as the car would turn its self off. Incredibly dangerous for a car less than two years old. It was around 7 in the morning and I was getting ready for work. My garage door was open. A neighbor started pounding on my front door telling me my garage was on fire. I opened the door from my kitchen to the garage and seen smoke but it didn't seem major. I grabbed my keys and ran outside to pull my car out of the garage. I started the car and put it in reverse. It didn't want to move so I floored it. Once I got it into the driveway I heard the neighbors yell, "Lady! Get out of the car! The car is on fire!" I jumped out and seen the car was fully engulfed and had spread to the roof of the house. I grabbed the waterhose. It was of no help so I ran into the house to get my children out. Our home and everything in it were a total loss. Also my daughters car. Two of our dogs ran away. The car has been inspected by State Farm. They stated that the fire started in the engine compartment; the right front drivers side. Electrical; most likely the ABS. There were no warnings lights or symptoms. We only had the car for 5 months, it had 8000 miles on it. The oil had been changed at the Hyundai dealership just 5 weeks prior. I have talked to numerous people with Hyundai's that have caught fire, but not a 2022 as of yet. We have signed releases for Hyundia to inspect the car in February but they have not. It is still at the local tow yard. They are also supposed to inspect the house. They have offered to buy the car back but we have not agreed. We believe we are entitled to more compensation than that. I also have videos taken by neighbors and ring doorbells.

Driver tried to avoid the car ahead and did all driver could think of to slow and not hit the car ahead but the SUV would not slow down. The collision warning came on as the SUV struck the right of car in front of it. The emergency braking did not come on. Further, the SUV still did not stop until the tire hit the concrete barrier in the road. The airbag did not deploy. In total three vehicles were damaged as the SUV hit one which pushed it into another at the light. Hyundai corporate consumer assistance was contacted and a case opened. 2022 2.5L HTRAC Tucson (Current Mileage: 27,088) This issue became notably clear roughly around the 12,000-to-15,000-mile mark on the vehicle. It's also worth mentioning that since month one of ownership, the vehicle has displayed some unnatural characteristics. Under hard throttle the engine created a tone that was very much discomforting and not confidence inspiring. It was abundantly clear the engine struggles to move this heavy AWD vehicle. The vehicle is so aggressive when it comes to shifting up to the next gear, I find myself doing 38-40 mph and the vehicle would be in 8th gear. When I would try to accelerate naturally the vehicle growls and vibrates and makes crunchy sounds as it struggles to accelerate against 8th gear. It's gotten so loud it can be heard over the AC and low volume radio. It's across the board as well, this issue occurs at highway speeds down to neighborhood driving. It will wholistically shift into too high of a gear whenever its possible, and the only way to prevent this experience is to manually shift the vehicle. This demonstrates that the driver is smarter in shifting requirements over the TCU. Furthermore, the gas milage for the first 12-to-15,000 miles failed to meet the specified expectations, additionally, the computer is aggressive in its calculations for the achieved MPG, and hand calculations tend to show they are off by 2 to 3 mpg consistently. I took the opportunity to change the oil in the vehicle early (1,500 miles) knowing that break in periods could have small metal build up as components seat and find their mark etc. To my Suprise, I was met with a substantial (in my opinion) amount of rolled metal material and metallic material in the oil. I took pictures and videos and decided to continue to change the oil every 2,000 miles to document changes. Currently the vehicles last oil change was at 25,000 miles and there is still a concerning amount of metallic material and occasionally rolled pieces of metal during oil changes.

On Tues Feb 7, 2023, I was traveling at approx 6:50 pm on a suburban street at the posted 35 mph limit. My car started to lose speed, slowing to 27, then about 22-24 mph. I felt as though the engine was misfiring for an unknown reason. Since I was approaching an intersection and needed to make a left-hand turn, I started to depress the brake pedal. With no oncoming traffic, I slowed not quite to a stop, made the turn, but then had extreme difficulty getting the car to accelerate, again with the engine sputtering, chugging like a misfire, and shaking. My vehicle did not seem to go beyond 15 mph, and slowed again as I turned into my destination, about 2-3 blocks from the intersection. I parked and locked the car and was in a store for approximately 10 minutes. When returning to my vehicle, it would not start-the brake pedal could not be depressed at all, it appeared extremely hard. After 1-2 minutes of gently tapping the brake pedal, it loosened and I started the car. I put the car in reverse and it stopped in the middle of the parking lot with cars almost hitting me. I saw Engine Warning lights, Battery Warning lights, and a quick message across the screen but was unable to capture the meaning. After several more attempts, the engine started but was shaking violently, but I could not go beyond 3 mph. The shaking was so strong, items on the passenger seat shifted on the floor. I chose to remain in the parking lot and call Hyundai Bluelink. Since it was dark, I remained in the vehicle with the engine running, but excessive smoke billowed from the rear of the car. It was towed to Gerald Hyundai in North Aurora. After 3 days the dealer could not find any issue, however, I refused to take the car back, as I could recall it misfiring in previous weeks but unfortunately dismissed it. I requested a Technical Case File be opened at the Dealer. I still do not have my car after 1 week. This is a very serious issue and I am aware other owners have experienced it as well.

12/02/2022 while parking the vehicle in a parking spot in a parking garage, vehicle suddenly lurched forward causing the vehicle to hit the parking garage cement wall. This caused him to hit his head very hard on the steering wheel. The air bag deployed after he hit his head. The Air Bag did not protect him. He did not hit the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle accelerated by itself, which caused it to hit the parking garage wall. Shortly after this occurrence; he was at the Post Office, to drop mail in the mail box, and he very slightly removed his foot from the brake pedal to move the vehicle up a foot or two, and the vehicle lurched ahead approximately four to six feet. Again, he did not hit the accelerator pedal. Luckily, there was no other car in front of him or the vehicle might have hit it. Prior to the self acceleration of the vehicle in the parking garage and at the Post Office, this issue occurred while he was driving on the highway. He was going 55 mph and the vehicle suddenly went 75 mph. He was at a place where there is an exit, and he would not go that fast at this particular area. He explains he did not accelerate the car himself. He was so concerned about the vehicle self accelerating that he immediately got off of the highway to look under the hood to see if there was some explanation for this. The automatic emergency braking has numerous false alerts, several times each day. The problem seems to be worse when a vehicle travelling the same direction in a different lane slows. The problem also appears when the Tucson's own shadow shifts directly in front of the car near sunrise and sunset when longer shadows are present. The car will brake hard though there is no risk of forward collision. This creates a danger as vehicles behind my own cannot anticipate this sudden hard braking, thus increasing the risk of a rear end collision.

I am on my 4th driver side wiper since i bought the car brand new 4 - 5 months ago. All i ask them is to replace the wiper arm but they told me until there is a recall they cannot replace it. Even though they see the issue. I cannot drive my suv if it rains out and in florida it rains everyday. The wiper just skips while making loud screacing noise. The Advisor told me that universal hyundai sold me the car without the lining on the windshield and idk what that means. I take my car to same dealer i bought the suv at. Please have a solution so i can get this fixed. Thank You

Purchased this vehicle 12/2021 it hesitated on pick up but drove good after that nice look but the headlights are bad at night. First month I had a bad scare as when attempting to stop the brakes gave out, I had to pump multiple times to get the car to stop, this happened again about 1 month ago. On 10/10/22 while attempting to park in my driveway which is on a hill the car did not want to accelerate when pressing the gas and many lights turned on the dashboard. Warning, check engine, brake, front collision, etc. I have not had any accidents for the collision light to be on anyways. I turned the car off and restarted it I even disconnected the battery but still nothing the car has power because it does turn on and the lights, radio work but it just would not accelerate. I'm on a very dangerous hill lucky this happened late night when not much vehicle traffic. The next morning 10/11/22 around 10 am Hyundai came to pick up the vehicle. I passed by that day around 4 pm to see what was going on. They had not checked it yet which is understandable we ask the guy when he thought it would be checked out and he responded that towed vehicles take longer to be checked, we asked for a loner and they said they did not have. Saturday 10/15/22 went again, the car was still in the same spot not looked at yet, today 10/19/22- 1 week and 1 day they have not checked the car and we were told they had a lot of cars to work on and we were far down on that list. So basically they will probably take 2-3 weeks to even look at it and if any parts are needed it would probably take another month and without a loner. So we the paying clients have to figure it out. This is very unacceptable not to mention how scary it was for the car to completely give out on a hill thank god no one was driving or walking behind me. I have been driving for 29 yrs and have never experienced something like this. This car can potentially be deadly specially to a new driver.

Initial incident happened in June 2022; car under 5k miles. When slowing down at a light, car suddenly started to shake and engine would shut off. Dashboard warning indicated place in neutral and start car again. After restart, car would still turn off, unable to move or shift gears without shutting down. After keeping engine off for a few minutes, car was driveable again but a sound coming from engine when in D while at a light. Brought to dealership in Woodbridge, VA but was told they were unable to replicate incident. 2nd incident occurred in October 29, 2022. At a light, car was going to auto shut off while at light but then lurched, shook violently and engine shut off. The dashboard said place in neutral and turn engine on. Was able to move car after a few attempts and move to safe area. Let car rest for a few hours. When driving, and slowing down at a light, car would shake; i would place in Neutral and car will settle. Any time at a light, it has to be in neutral or else engine will die. Brought to dealership, added 15miles but unable to replicate. Nov 3rd, car began to lurch when at speed of 40 - 45. after stopping at a light, car would not accelarate, engine revving but little movement. had to pull over and turn engine off. Nov 5th, while on highway vehicle began to lurch at 55-60mph, engine was at 4rpm, engine struggling but speed not increasing. since on a downhill, car was moving but engine revving; speed not accelerating. Had to merge to shoulder; shut car off 2x and restart before car drove without incident. Videos of dashboard were taken during incidents in October and November.

I bought this car less than 30 days ago, and it has 1,500 miles. I tried to start my car in the morning and when I put it in reverse, it just rolled forward. I braked and put it back in park and the engine shut off. I tried this a few more times before I gave up. A tow came and first suggested it was the alternator, before another tow came and suggested it was a sensor. It has been at the dealer for 48 hours without a diagnosis, “maybe the injectors.” I am fortunate this happened in a parking lot and not while I was on the road. I am now terrified to drive this car.

I was leaving a drive-through. Crossing traffic when my 2022 Tuscan N-Line just stopped accelerating the engine started to shake and SUV became unresponsive. As I was crossing traffic. I was almost hit. Moved the SUV to the middle of the street. Turned the SUV off. Restarted it. The SUV had no power and the check engine light came on. The engine started shaking violently. A bad burning smell ( like) burning rubber/ plastic started, then the engine started to smoke. I turned the SUV off again. After that the SUV wouldn’t start. Had it towed to the dealer. It only has 1130 miles on it. I just bought it July 20th.

With approximately 6552 miles on the car, 7 months after I bought it new, the Vehicle sputtered and shut off. The GDI pump was replaced. It has not runnright since. It sputters, it does not respond appropriately when the accelerator is pressed, it went into limp mode and would not go more than 35 mph. It did not throw and engine code when this happened. This is a huge problem in itself. I could be out of oil and it potentially will not throw a code or warning. When the dealer had it for 45 days they drove it approximately 100 mile and could not duplicate. It is a serious danger to my life and I refuse to drive it. I had it towed and it now sits in my driveway will the lemon law case is processing

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Since February of this year, a few weeks after I purchased this car the center console has to be replaced...it is on order to be replaced since April due to rear camera malfunction (Hyundai of Bowie, submitted BBB complaint). A few weeks ago the emergency brake initiates randomly. And yesterday the Engine light is on. Yes available upon request How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I'm unable to see cars or people when in reverse. While taking off from a parked position, the emergency brake comes on and can cause me to crash or stop suddenly forcing someone to crash into the back of me. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, took the truck for repair back in April, still unresolved (center console), no response from them after they supposedly ordered the replacement part. The emergency brake issue just started. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? NO Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes, the rear camera would show previous images on the camera or green screen with lines. When the emergency brake comes on without being initiated by me, other lights come on as well. Now (10/24/22) the engine light is on!

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The engine will not start despite having the key fob with live battery on my person. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I was stranded 3 times in a week in dark public parking lots with limited cell reception. I had to abandon the vehicle to get to a warm, safe location, and as a single woman, did not feel comfortable staying with the car while other cars were loitering at night. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The car has been with the dealer for 6 days now and they have not been able to replicate the issue and it has happened to me 3 times in one week. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why the car won't start. After a few hours, the alarm sometimes goes off, and the system resets, allowing me to restart the car. Given this car has a push button start ignition, there is no mechanical way to crank the ignition to start the car, so I am left with no recourse. The last time this happened, I had it towed to the dealership because even after waiting 3 hours, the system did not restart and I had no recourse.

Its been left at the dealer and no results. Also it has affected my life as a disabled handicap person as I'm unable to get to and from doctor appointment etc including to transport my scooter or wheel chair. its a nightmare. I came to purchase a car and was given a "lemon". with only 12miles purchased. I was directed by finance department to proceed with this matter for a resolution as we resolve this matter. The vehicle has been a problematic problem from the start. Definitely not standing firm on the customer Hyundai core value & warranty. The car is at the dealer and I'm temporally with a loaner on which I need to know all my option before we proceed. This is a very serious matter on which Hyundai is fully aware & infant they directed me to this process. My life was at risk as I was told to keep a car that is unreliable with a donut tire without repair. Purchased vehicle new at dealership with less than 20 miles on it. No aftermarket parts, no accidents or issues. Normal daily conditions, and constant logging on fueleconomy.gov. 08/17/2022 at 8:15 am: Driving 45-55 mph on major freeway with a low/moderate traffic. Roughly 5 miles from home, good road conditions and good weather. Suddenly, Automatic Emergency Braking System engaged (and related cluster lights/alarms displayed on dash). There was NOT a vehicle in front of me, and nearest vehicle in front was roughly 150 ft. away. Emergency brakes engaged so forcefully that I was unable to keep my vehicle moving forward, and vehicle came to a complete stop in the left lane of major freeway. My vehicle instantly turned off (or "died") with the radio still playing, but nothing else on. Had to place the vehicle in park, push the start button, and place the vehicle in drive, in order to continue. Obviously very unexpected. Vehicle behind me had to slam on their brakes (tires squealed) and narrowly avoided hitting my vehicle by about 36-48 inches. I'm unsure how they managed to avoid not hitting me. Unfortunately, the vehicle behind that car could NOT avoid the maneuver, and hit the vehicle that was directly behind me. I do not know if the other vehicle had injured individuals, as I was trying to get out of the left lanes of the 5-lane freeway, coming from a complete stop. Essentially, my vehicle caused someone to hit the vehicle that was directly behind me. I placed my hazard lights on, immediately pushed BlueLink button, but after two (2) times of inability to hear their voices because of breakup, I pushed SOS. Ultimately drove directly to Steele South Loop Hyundai and informed them of incident. Per dealership, they were unable to duplicate the problem, and found no error codes. I am not afraid to drive my car, with only 5,500 miles on it. Requested for dealership to report to you, but do not believe they took me seriously, so I am doing this. MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD

Dealer said on the first incident something fired or something but engine is okay. I am awaiting for the diagnosis of this second incident. For a new car, this shouldn't happen. I could have been rear ended today 8/17/22 if the car behind me came in a little faster and if I drove in the freeway. This is a safety issue. Hello, I am writing because I have experienced mechanical issues with my car since I purchased the automobile. Since I bought the car, I began having problems with the electrical components, the automatic emergency brake engaging while driving, and the chassis. The emergency brake has engaged while driving numerous times and has consistently been unpredictable since I've owned the car. In addition, the car's handling and suspension have been problematic since purchasing the vehicle. The car has driven poorly, with many vibrations and feeling extra loose throughout my owning the car. I received a diagnostic code via my Hyundai app indicating issues related to the chassis. I have contacted Hyundai on far too many instances regarding these problems and have not gotten any resolution. I've expressed my concerns about feeling that the car was unsafe for myself and other drivers on the road. However, Hyundai has still been unresponsive, as indicated by numerous open case files where there was no followthrough. Last week, I was in a car accident with a bus. I believe the accident occurred because of the above-stated problem. Specifically, when the emergency brake unexpectantly engages as it did right before the accident. The car is now at the Hyundai dealership. A representative from the dealership contacted me about my concerns as if the car's problems were new and they were not aware of them. These problems have caused me to experience high-stress levels because of the car's unpredictability and my fear of being in an accident. I desire to receive a two-fold resolution by submitting this letter of complaint. I want to get a properly functioning automobile and to prevent anyone else from being in an accident because of the critical mechanical issues present in the 2022 Hyundai Tucson.

Safety Issue 2022 Hyundai Tucson: All cars I have previously owned had a safety feature that alerted me through a continuous dinging or beeping sound immediately if a door was left open and the car was put into gear. I unknowingly became reliant on this feature because I have young children that sit in the back seat. If I did not see that a door was open, the car would alert me through sound before I could drive off with a door open. The Hyundai Tucson only has this safety feature for the driver’s door, but not for the passenger door, rear doors or lift gate. While the small screen in front of the steering wheel shows a visual that a door is open, an alert beeping sound does not happen. The incident: My two children got into the back seat and I was already in the car. I thought I heard both doors shut but I did not turn around to check. I put the car into reverse and immediately looked at the backup monitor and did not look at the screen behind the steering wheel. There were no indications on the back up monitor or any audio alerts to indicate anything was wrong. I slowly backed up at 1 to 2 mph just taking my foot off the brake to exit my garage. Then the car was jolted to a stop and I put on the brake. When I looked behind me, I saw the driver’s side rear door was jammed into the side of the garage because my son had not closed the car door all the way. The door frame was slightly bent and about 6 inches of metal bent inward almost an inch by the latch so it could not shut. Luckily my son had his seatbelt on when this happened and was not injured. I think an auditory alert is a necessary safety feature on ALL doors (not just the driver door) to prevent this or something worse from happening. I assumed this was a standard safety feature on all cars to prevent people from falling out of cars and losing car doors while driving. I did take the car to the dealership to see if it was a setting issue, but they determined this is how the car was designed.

Sometimes I have to manually hard reboot the infotainment system to get it back. I have been to the dealer and have called Hyundai care. No one seems to know what the issue is. I was driving on the highway and as I was slowing down for the slower traffic ahead the car started jerking and then the gas pedal wouldn’t cause the car to accelerate. I had to cross several lanes of traffic not being able to accelerate to get to the breakdown lane but could not get all the way off the highway. I believe that the issue was with the engine or brakes. There was a smell of burning in the car so I turned off the engine as soon as I got over as far as possible. I was afraid to try to turn on the engine because is smelled like something was burning. I had to sit partially in the highway with cars speeding by rushing to get out of my lane to avoid crashing into me while I called emergency service. The car was towed to the nearest dealership and I am awaiting the results of the inspection results from the dealership. There were no warnings or lights that I noticed prior to this incident.

Before even reaching 3,000 miles, the engine in this brand new vehicle overheated in very normal driving conditions (under 80 mph on straight, flat interstate in 60-70 degree sunny weather). The dealership technician determined that the engine overheated and the water pump was severely damaged due to the compressor bolts not being tightened correctly during the manufacturing process at the factory.

Dear all, I bought the 2022 Hyundai Tusan SUV on June 16th, 2021. Since then, the car engine has been turn off more than 20 times, causing problems that require restarting. When I stop at the traffic light while driving and start, the car will turn off and I have to take off my car key and wait in 30 seconds and turn on the car again. Nowadays, The brakes were not applied because the engine was turned off while driving. At that time, my driving speed was around 15mph because I exited from a HWY. I think the engine issue is occurred when the engine rpm is low. I took a video of the engine turn off issue. Thank you,

Nothing happened...yet. Has the NHTSA noticed how several new Hyundai vehicles, as well as a few Infiniti and Toyota vehicles, have turn signals mounted on the rear bumper? This is ridiculous and should be UNACCEPTABLE. There's absolutely no reason turn signals and reverse lamps can't be mounted where the stop and tail lamps are mounted. It's nearly impossible to see turn signals on the bumper. PLEASE CONSIDER A HEIGHT MANDATE FOR REAR TURN SIGNALS AND REVERSE LAMPS. And, if possible, also consider a mandate for *bright* side repeater signals, amber rear signals, and a height requirement for front signals as well. It's about time that North America joined the rest of the world in these mandates. Thank you!!!

Purchased a new 2022 SUV Tucson on 5/22/21. While driving on a busy street 6/7/21 during work traffic the vehicle just cut off without warning. With horns blaring I managed to coast to the right blocking traffic leaving one lane open for moving traffic. Vehicle after a couple of tries would start but would not move when gear was placed in Drive or Reverse. Hyundai Roadside Assistance notified vehicle towed to closest Hyundai Dealership. This was dangerous vehicles were almost running into the back of my SUV while abruptly stopping. I exited the vehicle while waiting for the tow truck in fear of vehicle being hit placing myself and others at risk of an accident. Informed by Asst. Service Manager at Hyundai Dealership that no one was trained to work on the 2022 TUCSONs at the Dealership. As a Public Safety measure at least some employees at each dealership should be trained to work on all newly released vehicles before they are placed on the market. Notified on June 15, 2021 that the vehicle has a limp mode/ limp node problem. June 16, 2021 I was informed by Hyundai dealership that the 22 TUCSON has a mechanical defect, transmission fluid was leaking which now the Transmission needs to be replaced. The newly purchased vehicle currently has only around 370 miles on it. I thought vehicles go through an inspection before leaving factory and after they reach the dealership before being sold. This I consider to be another safety issue anything can happen during transport. A repurchase/buyback from Hyundai wasn't approved. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Vehicle is ready and will be picked up from the dealership requesting an invoice of the repair work completed for viewing. This vehicle could have caused a catastrophic deadly occurrence
