ODI #11750535POWER TRAIN

I have been smelling engine coolant for some time and found a leak on the drivers side top seam where the aluminum meets the plastic tank on the radiator. This is a known problem with 2019=2026 Chevy Blazers by GM and it still hasn't been resolved. After researching, I have found numerous Blazer owners that have this same issue and some are on 3rd and 4th radiator replacement. I am afraid to drive the vehicle due to the leak that could leave me and my family stranded on the side of the road. I am also concerned about a major leak or seam separation that could allow a large amount of coolant out that could get on the tires and cause loss of vehicle control as a result. Also, the leaking coolant is a hazard to any animals that are around as the coolant puddles under my vehicle after driving. At this point, the Blazer is running hotter and I had to add coolant. I just called to price a new radiator...$450 and install...$1,025...that isn't a cost I should have to take on with GM knowing about this issue for years.

ODI #11747341ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Blazer. The contact stated that the coolant was leaking from the radiator. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the radiator needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the dealer was replacing a lot of radiators for similar failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 49,500.

ODI #11744381FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Car stalled and told me to put in neutral. Could smell gas. Car wouldn't come back on. Code u18a2 (lost communication with fuel pump communication module), part is available for inspection, we were all at risk due to the car stalling on the highway with no prior warnings, check engine light came on after car stalled, ordered new part from GMC, fix the issue right away. This part has been recalled on other models just not on 2022.

ODI #11744030POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE

BROUGHT MY CAR TO CHEVROLET CENTER IN WINTER HAVEN FLORIDA BECAUSE I HAD 2 DIAGNOSTIC CODES SHOW UP WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, THE CODES WERE (U1345: Indicates a communication fault on the LIN (Local Interconnect Network) Bus, usually tied to modules like the active grille shutters, cooling fans, or charge air cooler (CAC) pump.U0632: Indicates lost communication specifically with Cooling Fan 1.) THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY DIDN'T FIND ANY CODES IN THE SYSTEM AND THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME $165 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC FEE. RIGHT AFTER I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP I WAS HAVING THE SAME CODES POP UP, WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND MY CAR WAS OVERHEATING. CHEVROLETS ECM/PCM WARRANTY IS 8 YEARS OR 80,000 MILES.

ODI #11739718UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Thermostat fails resulting in steering power reduced, temperature goes to C and fan runs overtime. This thermostat or temp sensor fails intermittently and fixes itself. Car could be overheating and you wouldn't know. This part is recalled on 2021 Blazers already.

ODI #11738512ENGINE

I have a 2022 Blazer with a 3.6 engine. The thermostat has failed and dealer says only certain blazer vehicles are covered under aspecial warrnty exstesion. I know several people having the same problem.I have a check engine light, with a scan shows code P0128(thermostat0. I also have a display of power steering assist reduced and tempature gauge stays much lower than normal.. When you turn vehicle off the high speed cooling fans remain running ub=ntil battery is dead.

ODI #11737137ENGINE

I have received this warning a few different times “Steering Assist is Reduced". Which causes my vehicle to not blow cold air when AC is on. Fans are louder than normal. And when I turn off my vehicle fans continue to run for roughly around 8 minutes.

ODI #11732623STEERING,POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER

My engine coolant temperature sensor failed. Replaced it and still not fixing the issue. This takes my steering assist away as they are all interlinked? I have seen on forms this is a common issue. This has the potential to blow up my engine, I’m not sure how this is not a recall with so many 2020-2026 blazer owners having the same issue.

ODI #11727288ENGINE

My Drive Assist stopped working. Then my Air conditioning stopped blowing cold. Then the temperature gauge stopped working. Upon turning the car off the fan continued to run for several minutes. Took to repair shop where it required a new thermostat housing, coolant temp sensor and coolant flush. The total cost for repair was $1,131.52. The car has 37,000 miles on it. Barely out of warranty. This is a well-known issue among Chevy owners.

ODI #11719873POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE

When shutting off the car, the fan continued to run. I started the car up again to see if this would allow the fan to turn off. No luck. The steering assist was dis-enabled on the dash. I took my car to the dealer to find out that it has a bad thermostat and that my radiator was leaking. The thermostat was covered but I had to use my extended warranty to pay the additional repair. My deductible for my extended warranty is $300.00. My daughter has a 2021 Chevy Blazer and the same situation happened. There was a recall and all her parts were covered.

ODI #11717464POWER TRAIN

Transmission completely failed while driving at highway speeds.

ODI #11700288FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Driving the vehicle when all of a sudden the engine shut off. All electrical systems continued to function. Luckily this occurred at low speed in a parking lot but had it happened at high speed on the freeway it could have been a huge safety risk. The vehicle was towed to a nearby automotive shop that diagnosed it as a bad fuel pump controller. There is an open GM recall that includes the 2021 Chevy Blazer (and a suite of other GM vehicles), but not the 2022 Chevy Blazer. I am concerned that the GM recall does not fully cover all of the vehicles that could be impacted by this issue. ODI #11696472ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES

Incident Description: While my wife was driving our 2022 Chevy Blazer at approximately 40 miles per hour, the vehicle’s dashboard suddenly went dark and became unresponsive. Multiple warning lights illuminated simultaneously, including the check engine light, ABS light, and other system alerts. The dashboard appeared to flicker as though it was repeatedly shutting down and restarting. When the brake pedal was applied, it offered no resistance and traveled completely to the floor without slowing the vehicle. To bring the vehicle to a stop, my wife shifted into neutral and allowed it to coast until it came to a complete stop. Fortunately, there were no intersections or other vehicles in front of her at the time, preventing a potential accident. This incident raises serious safety concerns, as both electrical and braking systems appeared to fail simultaneously.

ODI #11695731ENGINE

Put my car into park and the fan kept running continuously. I noticed that the engine temperature gauge did not move off of cool either. When I drove it, I got an alert that the ‘steering assist was reduced’ and shortly after my check engine light came on. My safety was at risk due to the fact that I couldn’t monitor my engines temperature and it very well could have been overheating and I would’ve never known. I took it to the dealer and they did confirm that my thermostat was stuck open and wasnt allowing my engine to get up to temperature. My ecm module had to be replaced as well. The mechanic said, had it closed my engine would’ve overheated with no signs until it was too late.

ODI #11694908SUSPENSION

Control arm snapped on the I-71. Going 70 miles an hour when it happened. Definitely could have been a major accident but luckily no cars were around us when it happened. i rode over a bridge's transition and heard a big pop like a tire. Then it sounded and felt like we were riding on a rim. When we got out we saw what had happened. No warnings or anything before this happened.

ODI #11694278POWER TRAIN

Automatic transmission and radiator. Vehicle shifted hard and then would not go to a higher gear after pulling out into an intersection. Vehicle was pulled over to side of road and shut off. Restarted and tried to merge back onto main road and while trying to accelerate, the rpm’s went over 3500 quickly and wouldn’t shift once the vehicle hit 30mph. The engine light came on. There has been no previous engine lights or issues. Scheduled an appointment at a Chevrolet dealership and had the vehicle towed on a flatbed trailer to be looked at. I stated that there was a major problem/issue with the transmission and explained the problem. In their notes it states they took it for a test drive before even checking the transmission fluid for metal particles. I told them it was a severe failure and was barely drivable. It was able to drive up in the trailer to be towed, but never shifted out of 1st gear. We are a little over 64,000 miles and the warranty cut off is 60,000. The dealership states that the transmission needs replaced and the cooling system as well since metal particles made it into that system as well.

ODI #11693646STEERING

While driving, the vehicle displayed a “Service Power Steering” warning message, and shortly after, the steering became noticeably heavier and less responsive. The issue occurs intermittently but has worsened over time, creating a serious safety concern because loss of steering assist could occur at any speed. The dealer diagnosed the problem as a failure of the electronic power steering module and rack-and-pinion assembly, quoting an estimated repair cost of approximately $2,500. The vehicle has only around 56,000 miles and has been maintained as recommended. The dealer confirmed the issue but stated that General Motors would not cover the repair under warranty or goodwill assistance. This defect poses a significant safety risk, as a sudden loss of power steering assist can make the vehicle difficult to control, especially during turns or emergency maneuvers. There were no accidents or injuries, but the potential for loss of control is high. The warning message and loss of assist can be reproduced and have been verified by the dealership. The vehicle has not been repaired yet, and the defective parts are available for inspection upon request.

Accelerating without pressing gas pedal and gas pedal won't release with braking. Brakes overheated and this went on 10 minutes before I got it to release the gas pedal so I could safely stop. I almost hit 4 vehicles on the interstate because the gas pedal went to the floor all the sudden.

Increasing speed by itself, let foot off gas pedal and gas pedal sticking, 1st time I tapped brakes and it quit. 2nd time it did not. I had to slam brakes and hokd until the point they had overheated and smell burnt and filed a separate complaint for that today. Gas pedal sticking and self accelerating. Pedal to the floor accelerating. I do not drive like that and scared the hell out of me. I bout it 5 days ago from a Chevrolet dealership. I'm tired of rip offs. Next one best be brand new and they reimburse me for outside mechanical I inspection period. Bc I trust no dealer now. Went from 7p to about 95 in 10 seconds for 10 min. 1. Fuse array has failed, and yes it is available for inspection upon request 2. The car overheats, posing a threat to passengers lives due to having to pull over on the side of the road and being struck by other drivers. 3. Yes it has been confirmed by a dealer/service center. 4. Yes it has been inspected by certified service technicians. 5. Yes, the engine light comes on and the dash says “Engine power reduced” and then “vehicle overheating, please pull off the side of the road and turn engine off”. There were no symptoms leading up to the vehicle overheating. This first occurred in April 2025, and occurred again September 6, 2025. When speaking to the dealership, they stated that this is a widespread issue with Chevrolet Blazers and because of how big this issue is, new parts are on back order until middle to end of October. I cannot drive the vehicle to go grocery shopping or bring my daughter to daycare. Because this is a widespread problem, there needs to be a recall issued. Chevrolet installed faulty fuse arrays in their vehicles and this is their fault for this happening at such a large scale.

2023: 16K miles, the Chevrolet Blazer in questions transmission went out; thus requiring it to be brought into the dealership for repair; It was "repaired" and given back to us. A few days after said repair, I was driving it with my son in the vehicle, and the transmission went out while on the highway. I was almost hit from behind as I limped it to the side of the road. A brand new transmission was put in. During this time, there was also issues with the brakes where they were making noises. 2025: Blazer check engine light came on. On the way to get it diagnosed, it began to overheat; we were limping it to the side of the road when it stated "engine overheating, vehicle turning off". The safety system for shutting down when overheating worked, however, I was in the roaad again. Thus putting me in danger of being hit. We just received notice from the dealership that it is (as of this moment) a cooling fan, AC pressure switch, thermostat, and a cracked radiator. We are waiting on the technicians to finish checking it to see if there are any other issues.

Intermittent dash warning: "Action Required. Steering Assist is Reduced. Drive with Care." Power steering is sluggish when this happens. Having this happen while driving could be dangerous. Only stays on for a few minutes then goes away. This started with only 10k miles and has been continuing for 2+ years. Based on what I've read online, this is a known issue with the thermostat and/or coolant temp sensor. Dealership refuses to fix it unless it's throwing a code while in the dealership. Of course, it never throws the code while at the dealership.

Vehicle gear shifter is stiff and difficult to pass from Park to Drive--the gear shifter gets stuck in Neutral often. The Entire Dash and instrument cluster goes black during driving and will not come back on until hours later even after the vehicle has been turned off and back on. This has caused me to be unable to see my speed, turn signals, fuel gauges or any engine controls. This leaves me unable to operate or control my vehicle. This is a huge safety issue when driving as I am unable to determine my speed or see any of my vehicles controls or warnings. The front passenger seat motor has a horrible vibration and struggles to adjust the seat properly. I have contacted multiple dealerships on multiple occasions regarding these issues and have been told that the extended warranty will not cover any of these issues although I was told it would when I purchased. Chevy has refused to offer assistance with Towing the vehicle to a dealership when the cluster stops working and encourages me to drive a vehicle that is not operational. The service manager at one location told me this was a known issue with the vehicle.

ODI #11663651POWER TRAIN

The engine fan has been running and the check engine light has come on and upon further inspection I discovered that this is a common issue with this vehicle. I have had my vehicle inspected and serviced by Chevrolet since I purchased it and I informed the technician that there was water under my vehicle if it ran idle on several occasions and was told that it was a non issue and now that my vehicle is out of warranty there is an issue with the same thing I have been concerned about.

I have owned 20+ GM vehicles over the past 25 years and I have never had to replace a tire due to tread wear before 45,000-50,000 miles. This is an expensive mid-range SUV and should not have junk tires. It is also my first GM vehicle that has Continental tires. The replacement Continental tire is $370 each. These are expensive tires and the SUV costs more that $55K, this is not ok. I see there is one other complaint filled for tires, but most consumers don’t know this web site exists. I would not except we I called Chevy customer service, they recommend that i file a complaint. I also don’t think most Blazers have 21 tires, i order this vehicle from Chevy with this as an upgrade option. Please research this tire brand and model as well as 2022 Blazer AWD Premiers with 21 tires an i think you will see this is a pervasive problem. Thank you.

To whom it may concern; my son's fiancé was driving on the highway and the vehicle had a sudden loss of power. Afterward, it turned off and would not re-start. After towing the vehicle to a repair facility (out of warranty by mileage, 45K) were advised they retrieved DTC P023F and advised the fuel pump control module failed. I did some checking and found that GM is aware of the issue and has released T.S.B. #PIP5964C, which states "CRANK NO START, STALLING, LOSS OF POWER, FUEL GAUGE INOPERATIVE/ERRATIC, MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP (MIL) ILLUMINATED P023F P129F". My transmission started slipping really badly. Had never happened before, and then suddenly wouldn’t shift above 3rd gear. My reverse gear stopped working. I had to have my valve body replaced which fixed the drive gears but the reverse still didn’t work. After months without my car, my dealership had to replace the transmission.

ODI #11585631ENGINE

ODI #11569096TIRES

Upon inspection when repairing a flat at a tire service center, I was alerted to the fact that my tread on all 4 tires was low almost to the wear markings. The tires only had at the time 15,000 miles on them and the car is less than 3 years old. I would have not known to check this as it is not in the usual lifespan of a tire, especially on a new car. When reviewing my past inspections at service appointments with my Chevrolet dealership, I can see that they have noted the wear but not alerted me. My tire size is 235/65 R18.

Chevy is aware that this vehicle has a fuel pump failure issue. We were not. The vehicle lost all power while my wife was driving on a very busy Fla highway. She attempted to pull the car over to the shoulder. She was in the far-left lane. It had no shoulder. She was unable to make it completely over to the right shoulder due to having no power. Her car was still in part of the right traveling lane of traffic. This put her at great risk of being rear ended by vehicles going 70 mph and possibly killed. She was 60 miles from home, and I could not reach her intime, so a friend nearby helped. When I visited my chevy dealer and expressed my anger over what just happened they informed me that the same thing happened to another customer. Fuel pump failure. Chevy tells us that the fuel pump is on back order over 2 weeks. Chevy is aware of this very dangerous defect and has done nothing about it. Some maybe killed as a result. Losing power on a busy high going 70 mph is very dangerous. Information on the fuel pump failure for this vehicle can be found online. Thank you

I am not sure I picked the correct ADAS, however, on 3/4/23 we purchased this auto from Beck Nissian in Palatka Florida. When we purchased this auto it was a used car that had not been owned for very long. We were never told that there were factory recalls that were necessary so that all of the options this auto would work correctly. On July 14 I was in a very busy parking lot and back into a truck damaging my auto. I understand backing up is my responsibility but this auto needed a recall for the back up alert to be put on this auto. I believe if this auto had the options it was suppose to have I could of avoided this accident. This accident cost me a 600 deductible plus extra rental as I needed a larger vehicle because my husband is in a wheelchair. I truly feel that either the dealer or manufacturer should help with these expenses. I have contacted both to no avail. Your help would be appreciated.

The DIC (Driver Information Center) keeps failing since I bought the car. The volume shoots up, the controls will not work, the screen freezes and then goes black, the rear camera stays on in forward motion, it does not always reset after turning off vehicle and opening door. My dealership replaced the module and reprogrammed it. This did not work and it failed shortly after. It went back in the shop again - GM did not have an update for my vin to correct the issue. The dealer is ordering another new DIC this month. It is alarming to be driving the veh and have the volume shoot up to the max and the controls on screen, button or steering wheel will not allow you to fix it. You have to pull over quickly, turn off veh and open door for it to reset. It occurs regularly in my veh. This is a safety issue.

Stick on After market steering wheel emblem (Chevrolet) became dislodged when air bag deployed during accident, hit my daughter in chest then richoched off then stuck into driver side door panel approximately 1/2 inch (like shrapnel) very lucky this emblem did not penetrate her body as it could have been fatal.

Two different events, first on the highway press the accelerator to pass, and the accelerator stuck tried to tap the brake did not change, had to repress the accelerator for it to return to normal. Second event pulling the car out of garage, to park in the driveway, when stopped to shift into park, the accelerator was stuck and the motor starting revving up, this time, I just turned the engine off. Also there is nothing to interfere with the accelerator, such as floor mat carpet nothing. My daughter has 2021 Blazer she said the same issues. I know this is just hear say, but on the local news, a lady's car ran out of control and ended up on the railroad tracks, she just made it out before the train hit her car, police report stated she was having problems with the accelerator, another GM product in the same year as our car.

1. the car allow driver to push power off ( engine off) when car is not in P. which is a hazard since driver always want to brake off and get off the car when push power off button. The incident is when I push power off button and open the driver door and almost ready to get off and realize the car is moving since Shifter is not in P which is very dangerous that might hit surrounding and injure drive 2. when car driver door is open, allow driver shift to R or D with the alarm( sound) off. the insident is when I was backing up my car with door not fully closed. I see the door open indication light shows on cluster with 2s alarm then alarm went off and car start moving back. it is really a safety hazard that driver may on the road or freeway with door not fully closed.

Dashboard randomly goes black and does not work. This has happened one time while driving and I was unable to determine my speed since the speedometer is digital. I was also unable to see important information like service lights due to the faulty dashboard. Other times it happens right after I start the car in the garage. Also noticed when the dash goes black the climate control system starts to act weird and turns on and off randomly

We were sold a new vehicle with known computer problems. The dealership knew of the defects but sold it to us anyway. They consider it a warranty issue. Chevrolet doesn’t seem to care.

The blue line shows 43 total NHTSA complaints filed over 5 years, with the worst year being 2025 (17 complaints).

The amber reliability line averaged 89/100 across the vehicle's life — relatively stable, with the lowest point of 87/100 in 2025.

Notably, despite 43 complaints on file, no recall has been issued — either the defect pattern has not met NHTSA's threshold for a formal campaign, or a recall may be forthcoming.

Red dots on the amber line flag 2 years (2022, 2023) where complaints included crash events — these are the highest-severity incidents in the dataset.
