The contact owns a 2025 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the hood was fluttering. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while exceeding 50 MPH and was more significant whenever a semi-truck drove by the vehicle on a two-lane road. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the bracing underneath the hood was reglued, the hood latch was adjusted, and the elevation of the rubber bumpers underneath the hood was modified; however, the failure worsened. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 800.

STEERING: 2025 Honda CRV steering became "sticky" when veering left, making it difficult to maneuver back to center and the steering could feel a bit jumpy. There were also faint clicks when driving in circles to the left. The VIN was not listed under the current recall number 24V-744 so we brought it to the dealer to see if it was under warranty. The sticky steering only happens after driving the car for a little while, so we weren't able to replicate it for the dealer 12 miles away. However, they took a look at the steering components and told us that it was a "fluke" that the car had made it through assembly inspections because it should have failed and never been sold. We had the car safety checked before leaving for a trip where we'd be driving along steep, winding cliffs with sharp switchbacks and they said we were in good shape. Now they were telling us we were "lucky we didn't hit a pothole" and make it even worse and careen off a cliff. We put about 10k miles on that trip not knowing the danger we were in the whole time. They claim they fixed it by installing a brand new Honda Power Steering Rack, part number 53620-3A0-A33. We've heard that others just end up with the same issues in another 5-7k miles, so we're not feeling confident. AUTOMATIC SAFETY BREAKING: We get several phantom warning alarms and flashing, full screen messages telling us to "BRAKE!" while driving when nothing is there. Usually when there's any kind of flickering sunlight or sunlight through trees, which is everywhere. We can only disable it by turning it off EVERY single time we turn on the car and by going through several menus to get to the feature. We should be able to turn this off completely, not each time. We've twice had it pump the breaks and it's a frightening situation, even at slow speeds, because we could get rear ended. Dealer said, "Yeah...that's how it works. Mine does it too."

The component affected is the passenger side mirror. The plastic cap over the mirror spontaneously cracked. It sounded like my CRV was hit by a rock. I looked over and my mirror was folded into the vehicle. The mirror works, it is not cracked and the movement via the driver side buttons works. Upon stopping and looking, the plastic was broken from the bottom around the interior of the cap. Exterior plastic piece was left. I used black duct tape to keep the remaining pieces together. No warning signs. Pieces of plastic flew off the mirror into the roadway where cars were parked and people would be standing. My CRV is going in for an inspection on 4/2/2026.

I was involved in an accident which resulted in my C-RV being totaled. Another vehicle pulled out immediately in front of me and I crashed into it. None of my airbags deployed. My vehicle's emergency response system was activated- it called emergency response and kept repeating that a crash had been detected. The front of my car was crushed in and the impact sent the vehicle that pulled out in front of me, a Toyota 4Runner, doing a full roll and ending up on its side. Clearly, the airbags should have activated. I purchased the CR-V new, was the only owner, the vehicle had less than 5,000 miles on it, had never been in an accident, and there were no warning lights or messages indicating any problem with the airbag system prior to the accident. The car was deemed a total loss by my insurance company.

ODI #11722836VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

My 2025 Honda CRV Hybrid seems to randomly accelerate on its own. This has happened at least 4 or 5 times over the past year. At first I thought I was imagining it but then I noticed it happened again, multiple times. Each time I was NOT pressing the gas pedal nor at any time was I using cruise control. I never use the cruise control. The vehicle seems to accelerate on its on for about 3-4 seconds then stops when I press the break. Clearly uncontrollable and unexpected acceleration of the vehicle puts me, my passengers and others are at risk. I called my local Honda Dealer Service Department and was told that unless I can recreate the random and spontaneous acceleration at the dealership then they won't be able to diagnosis or write for the issue. The Honda Service Rep said sense I have no idea when it is going to happen again he cannot set a appointment for me to come in without having a current issue. Because the acceleration is random and because I cannot recreate it at will, the problem has NOT been confirmed by a dealer or service center and the vehicle has not been inspected. The acceleration issue is random and spontaneous with no warning lamps, no messages and no other symptoms prior to. Once it stops it may no happen again for weeks or months. However as mentioned about it has happened at least 4 to 5 times within the past year with the most recent occurrence on March 6th 2026 ----End-----

2025 Honda CRV Hybrid windshield wiper fluid does not spray. Instead the fluid is dribbled on to the sides of the front windshield but does not clean the majority of the windshield that you need to navigate with. This new design is highly INEFFECTIVE in cleaning window of dirt, bugs, grime, etc., and makes seeing clearly while driving very difficult and UNSAFE. Even after initiating the windshield wiper "spray" numerous times in a row, the window was left dirty and difficult to see through. Terrible, unsafe, design.

The clock spring assembly makes a noise whenever I turn the steering - this was once fixed through replacement by long beach honda and a couple of months later the issue came up again. Now, the dealer says Honda should be addressing it. The issue today till exists on vehicle and Honda refuses to take any action which is very weird as many users on online threads report the same issue. I am not sure if this might be related to the recall number (24V744000) but my car shows no open recalls. Long Beach Honda confirmed the issue and replaced the part once, but the issue came up again after a couple of months itself. see this thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/crv/s/vGOzgTLDNO

I’m driving a Honda CRV 2025. It recently has an electrical issue. It has happened 3 times. Two while starting up the car that I couldn’t start up the car. And one while I was backing off my car on the driveway, the car was suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. When it happened, dashboard lights were flickering randomly, and there was some electric noise on and off. I have brought the car to the dealer for a diagnostic, but they couldn’t reproduce or find any issue. They even said that they have tested and verified that the car was totally safe to drive. That raised me a safety concern if the car suddenly stop when I’m on freeway at high speed.

ODI #11716873TIRES

I purchased this 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid on 11/06/2024 from Tower Honda in Longview, Texas. I purchased the vehicle with the Hankook Kinergy GT tires already on there, and these tires are still on here till this day. On January 19th, 2026, I went in for an oil change, and my service advisor mentioned a tire rotation. Once they were finished with the vehicle he did share with me that I only had 10%-20% tread life left. I only have 32,176 miles on my vehicle, and after researching, the tread life on these tires is 70,000 - 75,000 miles. Their are customers that have, and or having the same problem that I am having. During my research Hankook Tires are known to have premature tread wear, tread separation/sidewall issues, poor longevity, and sometimes difficulty warrant claims. I can't believe dealerships would even allow these type of tires on vehicles knowing that the tread life and value is horrible, but I guess at the end of the day, everyone is trying to make a sale, and safety doesn't matter. I think Hankook Tires better take heed at the complaints, and issues of their tires. These serious issues can turn into legal matters for this company. My tire size is 235/60R18

ODI #11715803SERVICE BRAKESCRASH

On December 29, 2025, while pulling into a parking space, my Honda CRV Hybrid unexpectedly accelerated in spite of my foot being firmly on the brake. The unintended acceleration resulted in a collision with the vehicle that was parked in front of my vehicle. The security video footage shows clearly that my brake lights were consistently on during the collision. My braking system clearly did not work. My vehicle collided with the vehicle parked in front of it, moved that vehicle to the side and continued moving forward over a parking lot curb and came to a stop. If someone had been in front of my vehicle, they would have been seriously injured if not dead. There were no warning lights, messages or other symptoms prior to the unintended acceleration. My vehicle has been inspected by the dealer and the manufacturer and they could not reproduce the problem. This is the most concerning aspect of the situation. They want me to take the vehicle back and to continue driving it when there is clearly a problem.

On 02/03/2026 while driving on a flat smooth asphalt highway at 55 miles per hour our sunroof just exploded. We didn't see anything hitting us although we did meet a few oncoming cars and trucks, but none were close when this happened. Luckily we had the inside blind shut so we didn't get covered with glass chips. Neither my wife or myself ever remember opening the sunroof or the inside blind so we don't even know if the sunroof would move of if it was stuck. Called Honda dealership locally to see if there was a recall for this breakage, but they there was none and it would have to turned into our insurance. The new glass is ordered, but we have to keep our 2025 CRV garaged and only driven very short trips. It will take 8 days to get this repaired. We have 15,000 miles on our CRV and about 2/3 of the glass is missing.

I was driving on the highway when my sunroof suddenly shattered out of nowhere. There were no vehicles directly in front of or beside me, and the weather was clear. The sound was extremely loud, sounded like a gunshot and it happened completely out of nowhere. There was no visible impact from rocks or debris. Instead of a small crack, a large hole was left in the sunroof. This appears to have been a spontaneous glass failure and is very concerning from a safety standpoint.

The check engine light came on as well as an advisory that there might be an emissions problem, and to take the car to the dealer. We had it towed in (inconvenient as we were out of town). The problem was diagnosed as faulty fuel injectors which are being replaced under warranty. We were told this is not an uncommon problem for the 2025 hybrid CR-V.

While driving at 65-75mph down a highway the sunroof glass shattered outward spraying the hood of my vehicle with glass shards. I was fortunate my interior sunroof cover was closed but had it not been glass would have been all over me. Honda inspected and denied the warranty claim. I now have a claim open with a repair shop. They have preliminarily inspected it and it is just glass, nothing wrong with the track. Could have been weak glass.

January 18, 2025 Subject:  Request for Review – Windshield Crack on 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid Dear Honda Customer Relations Team, I am writing to respectfully request a review of a windshield issue on my wife’s Subject 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid, which we purchased new in the summer of 2025. The vehicle currently has approximately 16,000 miles. Recently, a crack developed in the windshield measuring roughly four inches in length. The crack originates at the driver-side edge near the frame and began with a very small divot. There is no visible impact crater or evidence of damage from a foreign object. Based on its location and appearance, I believe this may be consistent with an stress-related edge crack rather than road debris. Our local dealership has declined coverage, which I understand may be standard procedure at the dealership level. However, given the vehicle’s age, mileage, and the nature of the crack, I am respectfully requesting that Honda Corporate review this matter for possible warranty consideration or goodwill assistance. My wife and I have been Honda owners for over 20 years. We have consistently chosen Honda vehicles for their quality and reliability, and we have also purchased Honda vehicles for our children, who continue to drive them today. Our loyalty to the Honda brand has always been rooted in trust—trust in engineering, and trust in standing behind the product. I am not seeking special treatment, only a fair review of the circumstances. We value Honda and hope to continue that relationship for many years to come. I have attached four photographs of the windshield, including both full-view and close-up images of the crack for your review.  Thank you for your time and consideration. I appreciate your review and look forward to your response.  Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX]

Approximate Mileage on Car: 26500 Make/Model/Trim: Honda CRV Hybrid Sport-L Location: Manheim and Lancaster Counties, Pennsylvania Date of Incident: 1/17/26 Weather: Light snow, under 3", mostly plowed/salted surfaces While driving in light snowy road conditions, the vehicle failed to decelerate appropriately when the brake pedal was firmly applied. The driver was operating the vehicle cautiously and at reduced speeds under 20mph, appropriate for winter conditions. Snow accumulation was less than approximately 3 inches, and the roads were mostly plowed and treated with salt. Despite firm brake application, there was no noticeable ABS pulsing or vibration, and the vehicle continued to slide forward with minimal reduction in speed, right through a stop sign and then again at a 4-way traffic light intersection. Both times, the braking response felt delayed or ineffective, resulting in a significantly extended stopping distance. Steering control while braking was limited, leading to fishtailing and spinning across the road. This did not feel like normal loss of traction or typical ABS engagement. The behavior was unexpected given the relatively moderate road conditions and the cautious driving behavior. No warning lights were immediately displayed during the incident. The experience felt like a loss of effective braking capability in winter conditions, creating a serious safety concern. This condition increases the risk of collision due to the inability to stop the vehicle as expected, even when driven cautiously in moderately snowy, plowed, and salted road conditions. A driver has no reliable way to compensate when braking response is inconsistent or delayed. The vehicle is marketed as AWD and suitable for adverse weather conditions. The braking behavior was inconsistent with expectations and with prior vehicles driven by the driver under similar winter conditions for over 40 years.

I am experiencing a “sticky, notchy” steering issue on my 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid. When the steering wheel is approximately 1–2 degrees off center (either left or right), the steering resists movement and then suddenly jerks when correcting. This makes it difficult to make smooth corrections and maintain a steady lane position. The issue only occurs after driving for about 30–40 minutes, which suggests it may be related to component warm-up or prolonged operation. The problem does not occur during short drives. This issue began about two month ago and now happens consistently once the vehicle has been driven long enough. I brought the vehicle to the dealer, but they were unable to reproduce the issue because their test drive lasted only about four minutes. No diagnostic findings or repairs were performed.

Safety Issue: Absence of Low Windshield Washer Fluid Indicator I am reporting a significant vehicle safety concern involving my 2025 Honda CR-V EX-L, which is not equipped with a low windshield washer fluid level indicator. This omission created a serious safety risk to myself and other motorists during real-world driving conditions. While driving on a Michigan highway during a severe winter storm, I unknowingly ran out of windshield washer fluid. Due to snow, ice, road salt, and grime typical of winter driving in Michigan, my windshield quickly became dirty and my forward visibility was severely reduced. Because there was no warning or indicator to alert me that the washer fluid level was low, I had no advance notice of the issue. As a direct result, I was forced to pull over onto the highway shoulder at night, in dark conditions and heavy traffic, in order to refill the washer fluid reservoir. Stopping on an active highway shoulder under these conditions posed a substantial safety hazard, increasing the risk of collision to myself and to passing vehicles. This situation was entirely preventable if the vehicle had provided a basic low washer fluid warning. I later confirmed with a Honda dealership that the low windshield washer fluid indicator is not included as a feature on my 2025 Honda CR-V EX-L. This confirms that the issue is not a malfunction but a deliberate omission in vehicle design or feature availability. I am further concerned because I also own a 2023 Acura RDX A-Spec Advance (VIN: [XXX] ), which similarly does not include a low windshield washer fluid indicator, despite being a premium vehicle and Acura being Honda’s luxury brand. This suggests a broader design or cost-cutting decision across Honda/Acura vehicles rather than an isolated model-level oversight. Vehicles sold in northern U.S. states such as Michigan, where winter conditions routinely involve snow, ice, freezing temperatures, and heavy road salt use, depend hea INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The drivers side wiper does not sweep the whole windshield. It stops short of the upright pillar (at the top of the sweep) by several inches. This extends the natural blind spot (created by the pillar) an extra few inches. When the wipers are put in service mode, it comes to where it should be, but only does this in service mode, not when actually using. The dealer inspected it and suggested the wiper arm could be repositioned. The vehicle experienced an unintended acceleration in which it unexpectedly increased speed without any input from the driver. At no point was the gas pedal depressed, yet the vehicle accelerated on its own. This sudden and uncommanded movement occurred without warning and was inconsistent with normal vehicle operation, leaving the driver with no intentional control over the acceleration. Following this incident, the manufacturer was contacted; however, despite ongoing attempts to communicate over the past six months, there has been no meaningful correspondence or demonstrated urgency from the manufacturer to investigate or resolve the issue.

While driving my 2025 Hybrid CRV with 4K miles in a light rain, the wiper stopped going all the way to the edge and now only goes 90% of the way up no matter the setting. In a heavy rain, it will go 96%, and in accessory mode it goes up 100% of the way. I took it to the dealership and they said that this range of motion was standard, then showed me a video they took of a new CRV they had on the lot whose range of motion was slightly better (~95%). I pointed out the clearly visible grime line from when it was working correctly and how in accessory mode it goes up to the line. I also have the anecdote that in the summer I used it to clear pollen and it always went up all the way. They continued their stance that the operation was fine. Since it goes all the way up in accessory mode, I told them it must be a computer issue and asked them if they could reset/troubleshoot it. Since they had put off looking at this issue for the two days they had it at the dealership, they said they would need to address it at another time or keep it a third day. I just took it back and scheduled another appointment, as I need it for work. I am taking it in again, but from my post on the CRV sub-reddit many other new honda owners are experiencing the same issue. At approximately 6:00 PM on December 29, 2025, I was parking my vehicle in the Montague Foods parking lot at 8761 Ferry St in Montague, MI 49437. As I was pulling into the parking space, I had firm pressure on the brake pedal and was not pressing the accelerator. Despite braking, the vehicle suddenly lurched forward unexpectedly. The vehicle struck the parked car in front of me with such force that it moved the large SUV, bounced off, and continued to lurch forward repeatedly. While I was actively trying to stop the vehicle with the brake pedal, it continued moving forward, ran over a curb, and behaved in an uncontrolled, bucking manner. I would describe the experience as similar to a bucking bronco. During the incident, I was yelling, “What is happening?!?” due to the unexpected and frightening behavior of the vehicle. At no point during this incident was the accelerator pedal pressed. No warning lights, alerts, or messages appeared on the dashboard before or during the event that I can recall. Both my vehicle and the parked vehicle sustained damage. Fortunately, there were no injuries. This incident raises serious concerns about the braking, acceleration, or vehicle control systems in this model. I believe this represents a significant and serious safety risk not only to the driver of the vehicle but also pedestrians and other vehicles. I am afraid to drive the car again. While pulling into a parking spot and coming to a stop, the brakes failed and the car abruptly accelerated forward despite attempts to continue braking. The car proceeded over the curb and raised hilly grassy median and only came to a stop when it collided with a parked vehicle on the other side of the median. I, as the driver, had no control of the vehicle and could have potentially hit a pedestrian in this parking lot. There was a person seated in the car that my car impacted and she could have been hurt as well as myself and my passenger. All of this was reported to the community service officer who came to the scene, as well as to the Coggin collision center, Coggin Honda dealership and my insurance company. My insurance company has sent an appraiser to the collision center but he did not investigate the causative factors, only the body damage so far. There were no warning lamps or messages and the airbags did not deploy despite frontal impact. The car is currently at the Honda Collision center and would be available for inspection.

ODI #11702149TIRES

My brand-new 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring AWD came equipped from the factory with Bridgestone Ecopia H/L 422 Plus all-season (M+S) tires. These tires exhibit dangerously low traction at very low speeds on normal packed snow and light ice typical on California’s Hwy 80/Tahoe corridor. On Fri Jan 3rd, the vehicle repeatedly lost traction, slid sideways, and struggled to accelerate from a stop on mild winter conditions where M+S tires are expected to provide adequate traction—particularly on an AWD SUV. This occurred at speeds under 10 mph on roads where other vehicles with M+S tires had no difficulty. The issue appears to be abnormally poor winter performance that is inconsistent with what is typical for M+S all-season tires. This raises concern about a possible tread compound defect, hard rubber compound, or manufacturing inconsistency with this specific Ecopia batch or production run. California law (Caltrans chain controls) considers AWD vehicles with M+S tires acceptable for winter operation without chains under R1 and often R2 conditions. These tires fail to meet this expected level of basic winter safety, even though they are legally marked M+S. Honda informed me that these tires are “not intended to be driven on snow and require chains,” which contradicts how M+S-rated OEM tires are used statewide and raises concern that the tire may not be performing to federal Mud & Snow design standards. This appears to be a safety defect affecting traction, stopping, and control of the vehicle during normal winter operation. A tire inspection or compound evaluation may be needed.

I am reporting a safety issue with my 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The driver-side front mirror becomes blurry at highway speeds (60–70+ mph) and sometimes even above 40 mph on uneven roads, making it difficult to see vehicles behind me and creating a significant safety hazard, particularly when changing lanes or merging onto highways. Despite four service visits at my dealership, including a complete mirror replacement on August 25, 2025, the issue persists. Follow-up visits on October 20, 2025, and November 2025 confirmed that the problem was not resolved. I have lost steering power on two separate occasions in the last week. When this happens the steering wheel locks in place. Once while I was reversing, I went to turn the wheel and the steering wheel was frozen in place. I pulled back into the spot put the car in park and then back in reverse and the wheel was still locked in place. I had to shut off the car and restart it 5 times for the wheel to unlock itself. The second incident was while I was driving. I was doing around 40 MPH and went to make a lane change and the wheel was locked in place. This lasted closed to 1.5 miles. Finally I was able to get some movement (It felt like when you have a flat tire in the front which makes it tough to steer-I did not have a flat.) Once pulled over I had to turn the car off and on for around 15 minutes until I could move the steering wheel again. I brought it to the dealership yesterday, they could not duplicate the issue and there were no codes, so there was nothing they can do. There was a previous recall of a steering gear box r, my car was not effected because it was produced after the original recall according to the dealership. When both incidents occured there were no warnings, the wheel just locked itself. Not being able to steer without warning is a huge safety risk. The brake system on my 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid produces a pronounced creaking and groaning noise when releasing the brake pedal from a stop, especially on steep slopes. The issue becomes significantly louder when the vehicle is carrying more passengers/full luggage. The condition creates a risk of delayed reaction or loss of focus while driving. The dealership was able to reproduce the noise during testing [only flat road/parking] but dismissed it as “characteristic.” However, the noise in my vehicle is noticeably louder than other CR-V Hybrids. The issue was not tested under the full conditions I described (steep slope and full load). I have driven another 2025 CR-V Hybrid (owned by a friend), and it does not exhibit any such issue. On April 7, 2025, we bought a new 2025 Honda CRV EX. After driving it for a few weeks, we noticed that the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) is not functioning. And another safety feature, the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system is visual only (not audible) and appears only when our vehicle is 5-6 feet from a vehicle in front. Obviously, this distance is insufficient to properly react in order to avoid an accident. According to the car manual, “the CMBS system can assist when it determines there is a possibility of your vehicle colliding with another vehicle in front…an oncoming vehicle in front, a pedestrian, or someone riding a bicycle. CMBS is designed to alert you when the potential for a collision is determined, as well as assist in reducing speed, avoiding collisions, and reducing collision severity.” With regard to the non-functioning CMBS, we brought the car back to the dealer several times to check on the lack of this system, but their service department could not detect the CMBS system either. They tested other new Honda CRV EX models and even in those cars they could not detect the CMBS system. On June 16, 2025 (received June 18), we sent a letter to Honda headquarters (see attached) asking their assistance in addressing this deficiency. We followed up with 2 phone calls on July 25 and August 13. Unfortunately, to no avail. No response received. Over a distance of 1,718 miles, I measured my vehicle’s actual fuel consumption by recording odometer readings and fuel volume at each refill. I then compared these values to the average fuel economy (MPG) displayed on the vehicle's trip computer. The dashboard consistently underreported fuel consumption by approximately 8% ± 2%, always showing more optimistic (i.e., better) fuel economy than actually achieved. This discrepancy is repeatable and was observed over multiple refueling intervals. The vehicle and its onboard display system are available for inspection upon request. This inaccurate fuel economy reading does not present a direct safety hazard, but it can mislead drivers into overestimating range and efficiency, and may influence consumer decisions based on performance data that does not match real-world usage. Additionally, such behavior—if widespread—could be considered a form of consumer deception. I submitted a detailed written request to an authorized Honda dealership (Victory Honda of San Bruno) asking them to compare actual fuel consumption to the displayed value under controlled conditions. However, the dealership did not perform the required measurements or reset the trip computer, and no technical analysis or documentation was provided. The manufacturer’s customer service reviewed the complaint but closed the case without addressing the technical discrepancy or providing a specification that defines acceptable error for the fuel economy display. There were no warning lights, error messages, or symptoms indicating a malfunction. The issue was discovered independently through manual tracking of fuel usage versus mileage. Twice in the last week while driving with the Adaptive Cruise Control on the car has gone into the "collision mitigation" mode where the brakes engage with no warning but there was nothing in front of the car to cause this to happen. Both times were going up a small hill and on the other side of the hill was a police cruiser so we presume there was something (RADAR?) that the police were using that caused the car to sense we were about to collide. These situations are a shock to the driver and passengers, and would be worse if the car following us were to rear end us! The radar conflicts should be nothing new to the NHSTA. While driving along in a normal manner the anti collision braking system applies the brakes causing a violent de acceleration of the vehicle, throwing the occupants in the car forward in a very disconcerting manner along with throwing articles in the car forward violently towards the occupants and windshield. There was no discernible reason why the vehicle should have done this as there was nothing in front of the car that was subject to an uncontrollable collision. This has happened to me and my wife a total of three time and we haven’t owned the vehicle for even a year yet. The first time this happened the problem was brought to the attention of the selling dealer who in their dealership shop said their technicians had gone over the car electronics and sensors and found nothing wrong. They moved our “easy pass” transponder and said it may have caused the mishap. I don’t think so as it was not within the “eyesight “ of the forward looking camera.

Subject: Safety Concern – Hood Instability on 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid Dear NHTSA, I am writing to formally report a potential safety defect with my 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The hood does not close securely and exhibits visible gaps, uneven alignment, and noticeable movement or rattling at highway speeds. This raises serious concerns about the structural integrity of the hood and the possibility of it disengaging while driving. I brought this issue to Lia Honda, where I was told the movement is “by design” and not a defect. However, the instability is significant enough to cause distraction and fear of hood failure at high speeds. I believe this warrants further investigation, especially as I’ve learned that other CR-V Hybrid owners have reported similar experiences. I respectfully request that this issue be documented and reviewed as a potential safety defect. I am happy to provide photos, videos, or additional documentation upon request.

I’m reporting a high-pitched noise issue with my 2025 Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid. At highway speeds (approximately 68–74 mph), a persistent, high-frequency tone becomes audible from the front driver’s side of the vehicle. It is sharp, constant, and noticeably affected by the vehicle’s battery charge and speed. There are no warning lights, messages, or error indicators. However, the sound is extremely distracting and physically uncomfortable to endure. My wife has a preexisting auditory condition (tinnitus), and this sound makes it extremely difficult to drive or ride in the vehicle without pain or aggravation. It has made the vehicle nearly unusable for her on highways. I’ve brought this to a dealership, where multiple technicians and even a factory engineer inspected the vehicle. They confirmed the presence of the sound using audio measurement tools, and noted that similar sounds are present in other CR-V Hybrids. Despite this, I was told by the manufacturer that the sound is “normal” and that no fix is currently available. This issue has been present since I first took possession of the vehicle. The dealership and manufacturer have confirmed that it exists, but no resolution has been provided. While I may be one of the first people to raise the issue, I believe this may become a much broader concern. A continuous, high-pitched noise at highway speeds could be dangerous—it might distract drivers, cause fatigue, or even lead to long-term hearing discomfort or damage. I am hoping that NHTSA will investigate this issue or track whether other drivers begin reporting similar experiences. I would welcome any guidance on what steps I can take next, or whether further inspection of the vehicle is possible.

We pulled over at the next stoplight & quickly put the car in park, which stopped the endless warnings. When the stoplight turned green, we proceeded on the half mile trip home without further warnings. We have not moved the vehicle since the incident so have no idea if &/or when this might happen again. I have since found multiple online reports of the same type of event happening to other CRV owners, with dealer repair shops "guessing" what is causing the problem & "fixing" everything from fuel injectors & sensors to engine harnesses and battery replacements to vehicle computer updates and cylinder misfires, often with the problem recurring anyway. Driver turned the car completely off. Upon restarting, battery/engine light turned off and car drove normally to dealership. The car had <250 miles on it at the time. Dealer stated that no engine codes were retained. Dealer stated verbally that it is likely a "computer glitch" as the car is new and "just breaking in." Dealer stated that car "probably won't do it again." Written documents indicate that dealer suspects a failure in reverse automatic braking system. After car released to owner without addt'l testing, owner tested reverse automatic braking system. The system worked as expected - the car braked when it detected a close object in its field, it omitted the correct audible warning sounds and visual lights, and continued to perform when the driver depressed the braking system. Additionally, due to the newness of the car, the driver is extremely confident that no objects were around - the driver had been parking far from other vehicles to avoid dings. This "computer glitch" is potentially fatal as the car came to a sudden, complete stop while in motion and was unresponsive in any gear, even after brakes were applied and released. The owner drives on the freeway daily. The dealer could not say with confidence that the "glitch" would not occur in drive at high speed. Imagine driving 65 mph on a freeway and your car coming to a complete, sudden stop - not a rolling stop or a slowdown where you might inch to shoulder - just a completely dead car in the middle of a freeway.

When turning there is a creaking noise coming from the steering wheel. I’ve looked it up on google and a lot of people are have the same issue. I took it to the dealership for a recall that the vehicle had for them to put grease in the steering box and I told them about the sound. The dealership told me that it’s a loose cable in the steering wheel causing the sound and that Honda might come out with a recall to fix it. They did not fit it and I was told to wait for the recall to come out. Sounds very unsafe to have a loose cable in my steering wheel and it makes me uncomfortable to drive it knowing that. I am filing a formal complaint regarding the safety systems on my 2025 Honda CR-V EX-L, particularly the overly aggressive Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) and intrusive Lane Keep Assist. While driving my children to school, my CR-V violently slammed the brakes because a scooter was creeping toward an intersection — clearly not entering traffic. The rider and I made eye contact, fully aware of each other, and there was an open left lane for evasive action if needed (it wasn't). Despite my clear judgment, the CMBS intervened, causing a violent deceleration that launched objects inside the vehicle, scared everyone, and increased the risk of a rear-end collision. I am shocked that Honda eliminated the hardware button to quickly disable CMBS. Now drivers must perform a multi-step procedure every time the vehicle starts — an unreasonable and unsafe burden. I previously owned a 2014 Accord and was a loyal, satisfied customer. I love nearly everything else about the CR-V, but these flawed "safety" systems are a potential deal-breaker. Sudden deceleration can cause concussions and greatly increase the chance of secondary accidents. Lane Keep Assist has created additional dangers. When I move slightly within my lane to create space from a semi-truck, the system unnecessarily corrects my steering. This is distracting and unsafe. Good drivers adjust dynamically, but these systems undermine good judgment rather than enhancing safety. Technology that overrides competent drivers is reckless, not "intelligent." I request two changes: (1) Reinstate a hardware button to easily disable automatic emergency braking, and (2) Allow CMBS and Lane Keep Assist settings to persist across drives. Honda must redesign these systems with real-world driving in mind. Features that destroy driver trust are dangerous, not protective. I am deeply disappointed, frustrated, and have lost trust in my CR-V — a serious failure for a brand I once admired.

The windshield washer system on my new Honda CRV is not operating to effectively clean the windshield. The washer fluid is sprayed from nozzles on the windshield wipers, only briefly at the far left end of the wiper travel arc. On the driver’s side, the washer fluid sprays only on the far left two inches of the windshield, which the wiper does not contact. The passenger’s side of the windshield, receives no sprayed washer fluid (the fluid sprays only at the end of the wiper travel arc, in a narrow band in the middle portion of the windshield). Both wipers simply smear any dirt/debris on the dry windshield making visibility worse. I now carry a spray bottle and paper towels in my vehicle so I can pull over to clean the windshield when necessary. The windshield washer system on my vehicle is available for inspection. The windshield washer does not effectively clean the windshield, since the washer fluid is not sprayed over the entire windshield. The dry wipers simply smear any dirt or debris on the windshield making visibility worse. Specifically, the area in the driver’s line of sight is not effectively cleaned, creating a safety hazard. The vehicle windshield washer was inspected by the dealer’s service department, which also inspected other CRVs on the dealer’s lot, all of which exhibited the same issue. The District Manager is also aware of this issue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No No warning messages or indications were evident. I recently purchased my 2025 Honda CRV from the dealership January. I was driving with my 2025 Honda CRV and I noticed that the lane keep assist was having the ping pong affect when I first picked it up but I didn't really think too much about it. I assume my vehicle just needed some drive time since it was brand new and it was the first time it was on the highway. I noticed that this function was also causing the wheel to be very stiff. I know this system is a driving assistant and is not meant to take away from actual driving and paying attention to the road. But this week the system made an over correction and caused my vehicle turn into a guardrail on the highway. The road was straight, the day was clear and the lines on the lanes were very visible. There shouldn't have been an issue. I was pulled into the guardrail on the driver's side. I was with my girlfriend, her [XXX] son and my friend at the time. Everyone was a bit shaken up, I never had that happen before. It was primarily cosmetic damage to the vehicle and no other vehicles or property was damaged. I wasn't aware there was a steering recall on this vehicle until after the incident, and the recall was posted during the time I was finalizing the paperwork with my dealership for purchasing this vehicle. I haven't taken it to a dealership since getting the vehicle because they prepared everything prior to delivery or picking it up from the port in my case. I have filed a claim with my insurance company and hopefully the vehicle can be inspected for steering issues, to include the lane keep assist. The red cover hid the damaged bracket until it broke completely today. If the vehicle does start, it will run normally. When the positive cable loses connection, the vehicle continues to operate normally until it is shut off. Then all systems shut down immediately. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they noted that cylinder 4 fuel injector went bad and also cylinder 4 spark plug went bad. It was covered under warranty; however the car was not safe to drive until the above parts were changed out to working parts.

With Adaptive Cruise Control on, without touching brake or cruise controls, while passing semi trucks (also happens but less frequently with all vehicles), the Adaptive Cruise Control will pause or disengage, causing the vehicle to lose speed and momentum. Vehicles trailing the vehicle at this time are not aware of this sudden change in constant speed, creating a potential serious accident at highway speeds. Problem has occurred numerous time over the life of the vehicle (2 months). Is repeatable.

At approximately[XXX] I was driving the CR-V. I merged onto [XXX] from [XXX] going toward the [XXX] exit. Shortly after merging onto [XXX] a warning light came on stating something like “Emission system problem. You may lose power. See your dealer.” Very shortly after this the engine did start to lose power. Fortunately, I was able to pull over to the side of the freeway. Felt very unsafe. Waited a minute and shut the car off and turned it back on. I was able to start going back to my original destination. Within seconds the warning flashed again and stayed on the entire way there (around 2-3 miles). I called a tow truck to take the vehicle to the dealer. Was told by dealer (Germain Honda of Dublin) that they were replacing the cylinder heads. This was done and when they test drove it the problem occurred again. The dealer then replaced the fuel injector and this supposedly fixed the problem. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

From the day I drove my brand new 2025 Honda CR-V off the lot after purchasing it, in the driver's side rear view mirror, the mirror vibrates terribly as soon as you are going 35/45+mph. The faster the speed, the worse the vibration is. You can visible see the mirror glass shaking. It is very dangerous at all times to not be able to see with this side mirror. It is especially dangerous on the highways because it distorts the view so greatly and also makes me feel disoriented and dizzy when I try to use it to safely navigate the roads. If the mirror glass were to fly off, this would lead to an even greater danger. Yes, this problem has been confirmed by a dealer. It has been brought to Saratoga Honda and they replaced the entire mirror unit. The second unit had the same defect, and did the same thing. They stated if they replaced it a third time, it would not make a difference. They also drove another CRV just like mine off the lot and the mirror did the same thing. This is an issue that needs to be turned into a recall. It is not okay that Honda produced vehicles with something so unsafe, with no ability to fix it.

The radar sensor on our Honda 2025 CR-V was stolen. It is apparently a very easy thing to do and has been rampant in many regions of the country. It takes about 30 seconds to take from the car, and costs thousands to replace. Honda has known about this for several years but has done nothing to fix the problem or help owners fix the problem. They did not tell us about the potential problem when we were buying the car. They have instructed their dealerships to NOT help customers solve the issue despite solutions available on the market from reputable companies. If one tries to go this route, Honda will void the warranty on the sensor. I'm reporting this to hopefully put some pressure on Honda to remedy this situation for all of us victims.

I first heard of the safety recall in October 2024 regarding: "Increased friction between the worn gear and worn wheel can increase steering effort and difficulty, increasing the risk of a crash or injury." I received a safety recall notice from Honda in November 2024 for my vehicle: Manufacturer Recall Number QJT NHTSA Recall Number 24V-744 I then scheduled an appointment for the recall repair with my Honda dealer and was given an appt. Two days before my appt I was contacted by the Honda dealer service representative stating that my appt will be canceled because they are not in possession of gear springs. He stated that they do not have any foreseeable date for which they will receive the gear springs and there is a shortage across the state. I stated that I am fearful for my and my family's safety if I drive the car. He stated that he was told by America Honda Motor Co , "It is safe to drive the vehicle and that there is no danger of the steering seizing up to cause an accident". He went on to say if I have any issues with the steering to call for an appt, drive it in and they will assess the car to determine if it is related to the recall and then they will contact Honda and see if they can expedite the part. From the time I heard of the recall it took 30 days to receive the official recall notice in order to schedule an appointment, then wait for an appt this month only to have it cancelled by the Honda dealer. Honda is minimizing the importance of this safety recall. The point of a safety recall is to remedy the issue across the board, not wait to see if something happens and then assess whether or not to remedy the issue!

We checked the outside, underneath and then noticed that the sunroof on top of the car had been damaged. On closer inspection the sun roof was shattered. We proceeded to drive and realized that the roof was noisy, so we pulled over immediately. We removed as much of the loose glass and proceeded on our way holding the sunroof door tightly so it wouldn’t come open and rain any glass down on us. We took it to the dealer that we purchased the vehicle from two weeks before to inspect and repair, there were no warning lights or indications of the issue. We never saw any debris, there were no vehicles in front of us and only a motorcycle and one other vehicle pass in the oncoming lanes few seconds before the loud boom. The left side mirror vibrates when driving over 20 mph.

ODI #11621000VISIBILITY/WIPER

When the windshield wipers are in use they fail to remove water in heavy rain reducing visibility to the point I have had to put on hazard lights and drive much more slowly which on the interstate or on two lane roads is not safe. Also when attempting to clean the windshield with the wiper and solution the design has the cleaning solution coming out of the wiper blades themselves causing most of the cleaner to be sent down the passenger side windows also the blades don’t make good contact with the windshield which leaves a lot of the “bug guts” either in place or smeared making it very very difficult to see especially when the sun hits the windowshield often to the point of almost blinding. I have had the blades replaced twice and this has not solved the problem. This design change is NOT a good one and is creating what could be a dangerous situation. My previous Honda did not have any problems with windshield wipers like this.

ODI #11620608STEERING

Steering wheel became locked or froze up during drive. It happened several times on different days without advanced warning. Service department of dealership checked it but didn’t find anything wrong, they didn’t observe this problem during checking. But this problem persists after I drove the car back from service dept. I am so afraid that it will result in serious accidents.

The driver side mirror shakes, which makes it difficult to use, particularly at high speeds.

The component due to an improperly produced steering gearbox worm wheel, the wheel can swell during use, reducing the grease film thickness between the worm wheel and worm gear in which this was recalled on Oct 3, 2024 but did not discovered it until Oct 13, 2024 in an incident caused by the recall. All of the sudden my steering wheel became hard to maneuver and when I had difficulty turning it, I had something from the issue, as a result the under cover of the car got damaged due this issue in which I didn’t find out when I tried to schedule a service appointment on the Honda website. No the dealer or anyone has reproduced as it was a one time incident. No there was no prior warning about the steering wheel.

ODI #11619101ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE

The speedometer can report zero (0) when the car is moving slowly. This is probably the rounding policy in software. The actual speed was maybe 0.4 mph, but was reported as zero mph. If the actual speed was 10.4 mph but reported as 10, fine, not a big deal, but zero has a much different meaning than any other value. It means none, that the car isn't moving, but the car was.

ODI #11619173POWER TRAIN,ENGINE

Per dealer service department, cylinder one (1) rocker arm/lifter was getting stuck and caused a system and transmission failure.

ODI #11614847UNKNOWN OR OTHER1 INJURY

While I was in my apartment parking garage, I had my automatic trunk door opened. While I was standing in range, the door came down and hit me in the head. As a result I sustained a concussion. I did have the keys in my hand , so I may have accidentally activated the trunk door to close. However, my concern is that there is such sensor to stop the trunk door from continuing to close, or it doesn’t work. I called the dealer and they told me that there is sensor, but it only stops once it’s made contact. I believe this is very dangerous and should be evaluated. As I stated earlier I am now suffering from a concussion.

I purchased the car today, August 20, 2024. I haven’t had the car 24 hours. I drove home. I was showing someone my car. I opened the back hatch and shut it and the glass shattered.

Right after purchase, the hood wobbled up and down at highway speeds. When passing a semi traveling the opposite direction at 60 mph on a two lane section of road, it jumped enough to make me wonder if the latch had come loose and the hood was going to open. I notified the dealer to have it looked at and it was discovered that welds holding the hood were broken. A new hood is being ordered and it is being replaced at no charge. I am reporting this issue in case this is not an isolated incident.

ODI #11591946UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Purchased a new 2025 CRV Touring from EdVoylesHonda in Marietta GA on [XXX] with my hard-earned savings because my Accord was totaled in an accident. Picked it up on [XXX]. I found a safety issue where CarPlay is not playing audio output from any Maps (Apple/ Google/ Waze) if I’m in on a call. Apple designed the Apple Maps to chime if anyone is in a call while using CarPlay. I brought up this issue on 5/25 to the dealer but was told it’s an expected behavior. Not satisfied with the answer, I went to HondaConyersGA to do some digging and found that this issue doesn’t apply to Android Auto and any lower trim (ie. Sport L). The issue is consistent across 2023-2025 CRV Touring trim. I went back to EdVoylesHonda service on [XXX] and [XXX] only to be discredited on my findings, and the service manager said that it might be a compatibility issue with Bose speakers. It was deemed normal since all Gen 6 Touring has the same behavior. I was also told that the turn-by-turn also plays on the screen and should be keeping an eye on the screen instead. This is disturbing because I’m trying to limit my attention to the screen as much as possible, and sounds like a safety issue. A ticket was also opened with Honda Customer Service on 5/28, but haven’t heard any statement or a path to move forward since the case manager said that they can only document the issue. Either Honda needs to take the car back and let me get a car that’s working or have a commitment to resolve this issue.
