VERIFYHighDifferential / Transfer Case Fluid
Typical interval: 50,000 mi / 4 yr · Verify service records (no odometer on file)
Verify differential / transfer case fluid service history with the seller
On 4WD/AWD vehicles, neglected differential or transfer case fluid causes metal-on-metal wear. Replacement costs $1,500–$4,000.
VERIFYHighCoolant Flush
Manufacturer interval: 105,000 mi / 6 yr · Verify service records (no odometer on file)
Verify coolant flush service history with the seller
per Ford owner's manual maintenance schedule
Degraded coolant loses corrosion inhibitors and attacks aluminum engine components. Can cause head gasket failure and water pump corrosion.

ODI #11753797FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

There is a recall on this vehicle (25S75), issued on July 8, 2025. As of the date of writing this, there is no remedy available. This is a safety issue, and the fact that it remains unresolved over a year later, is completely unacceptable. The NHTSA site says to file a complaint if the issue is not remedied in a timely manner, and this is certainly not a timely remedy.

ODI #11753201ENGINE

The vehicle experienced a sudden, severe mechanical engine condition resulting in a violent rough idle, loss of motive power, and a flashing Check Engine light with hard misfire codes on Cylinders 4, 5, and 6 (the entire driver-side engine bank). Additionally, the vehicle has been losing engine coolant internally with no external leaks or puddles on the ground, indicating fluid is entering the combustion chambers. These symptoms exactly mirror the mechanical pattern documented in Ford Safety Recall 24S55 (NHTSA Campaign Number 24V635) involving brittle engine intake valves fracturing. This vehicle has an August 2022 manufacture date and sits just outside the manufacturer's current restricted recall window, indicating that the defective component batch extends significantly past the reported dates. Component Availability: The engine is intact and available for federal inspection. Safety Risk: The sudden loss of engine power, hard stalling, and severe misfires while operating the vehicle creates an immediate risk of being rear-ended by traffic or stranded on a high-speed roadway without motive power. Dealer Confirmation/Inspection: These symptoms occurred recently at roughly 58,300 miles. The vehicle is currently being towed to an authorized dealership for diagnostic confirmation, relative compression testing, and cooling system pressure testing to officially verify the root cause. It has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. Warning Symptoms: Prior to the sudden rough idle, the vehicle exhibited a low coolant level in the reservoir. There were no dashboard warning lamps or performance symptoms prior to the sudden flashing Check Engine light and immediate hard misfires.

THIS VEHICLE HAS BECOME A TICKING BOMB WITH RECALL AFTER RECALL. MANY OF THE RECALLS ARE DANGEROUS AND THE VEHICLE IS AT REAL RISK OF A MAJOR MALFUNCTION OR FIRE AND ACCIDENT! I WANT REIMBURSEMENT FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY FOR THE CONTINUOUS PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD ON THE VEHICLE. 23 RECALLS AND NUMEROUS OTHER ISSUES THAT I HAD TO HAVE FIXED OVER THE 4 YEARS SINCE I OWNED IT. TOTALLY RIDICULOUS AND QUITE FRANKLY UNBELIEVABLE COMING FROM A LARGE COMPANY LIKE FORD. I WANT REIMBURSEMENT FROM FORD OR FORD CAN BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK VEHICLE BACK. On 7/19/26, I was driving my 2022 Ford Bronco Wildtrak and attempting to turn left across oncoming traffic. When I pressed the accelerator to complete the turn, the vehicle hesitated and failed to accelerate as expected. An approaching vehicle had to decelerate abruptly and honk to avoid a collision. My Bronco is subject to NHTSA Recall 25V-455/Ford Campaign 25S75 concerning loss of fuel pressure and fuel flow caused by low-pressure fuel-pump failure. I am concerned that the hesitation was related to the recalled fuel-pump condition. There were no injuries or collision, but the loss of expected acceleration created an immediate safety risk. The recall remedy is not currently available. I am requesting that NHTSA document and evaluate this incident.

35 miles out of [XXX] on Monday, XXX our Bronco loss fuel flow in the fast lane of [XXX] and stalled while going 70mph we were surrounded by trucks also going 70mph, unexpectedly mid morning. No warning . Almost got rear ended and had to safely drift over to reach the side of the road. Very terrifying with cars going very fast behind us. We attempted to restart the Bronco and it started a few times and sputtered out. I immediately called the closest Ford dealership Gaudin and they dispatched a tow truck. The temperature was very hot and we waited for 1.5 hrs in the desert sun. The dealer provided a rental but I was not allowed to leave NV nor go more than 50 miles, they confirmed that it was a bad fuel pump. I did not receive the car back until Friday 6/19/26. This incident occurred on my first day of VC planned in [XXX]. My whole vacation was ruined, unexpected expenses, and the stress of having to drive with a defective part when it’s fixed is a problem. We have to drive back to LA and I can’t miss work. We took the vehicle to Gaupin in LA to have it serviced before this trip even an oil change on 6/11/26. They assured us that all was well, only 2 recalls showed up- rear camera and a seat adjustment bolt . Why didn’t the dealer tell us about the fuel pump and the dangers. The vin number has a listed “1 un-repaired recall - fuel pump dated 7/2025. Manufacturer #XXX, NHTSA# 25V455. No notice has come through the mail and then it states Recall incomplete in red. Well in our case that’s a little too late. Am I supposed to drive with a defective fuel system??? They replaced the fuel pump with another new pump that will have the same issue, not a fix. On June 19 later that evening after fueling it up, a service engine light came on with exhaust system issues. While operating the vehicle under load, the vehicle suffered a sudden and severe loss of engine performance, followed immediately by loud metallic banging from the engine bay. The vehicle lost all power and was immediately disabled (LIMP MODE), presenting an imminent highway safety hazard. The Physical Damage: Subsequent mechanical teardown revealed deep vertical cylinder wall scoring, heavy raw fuel residue in the engine oil pan, and a blown head gasket. Relationship to Active Safety Defect: This catastrophic block failure perfectly mirrors the progressive failure profile of NHTSA Campaign 25V455 / Ford Safety Recall 25S75 (Low-Pressure Fuel Pump Failure). Internal component degradation in the fuel tank delivery module dropped fuel pressure to the engine. Under turbo boost, this starvation induced an extreme, instantaneous lean-out condition. The resulting low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) exploded and shattered the internal piston rings (the metallic banging), leading to mechanical wall gouging, unburnt fuel wash into the lower crankcase, and a secondary blown head gasket. Request for Action: Ford's current VIN parameters for Recall 25S75 have not yet captured my specific vehicle despite it matching the exact production window, component setup, and catastrophic failure sequence. I am requesting that the NHTSA log this case as clear evidence of consequential engine destruction originating from the 25V455 pump defect, and evaluate whether Ford's recall scope must be expanded to protect other consumers from highway engine failures.

ODI #11744471POWER TRAIN,ENGINE

The Incident: While operating the vehicle under high load, the driver received an explicit "Service Engine Soon" powertrain malfunction alert stating: "The powertrain control module lost communication with the vehicle active grill shutter module for a period of time." Immediately following this warning, the engine experienced a severe loss of power, followed by loud metallic banging from the engine bay. The vehicle stalled completely and lost all motive power, creating an imminent highway safety hazard. The Physical Damage: Subsequent mechanical teardown by the dealership revealed terminal block destruction, including deep vertical cylinder wall scoring, heavy unburnt liquid gasoline residue in the engine oil pan, and a blown head gasket.Relationship to Active Safety Defect: This catastrophic engine failure mirrors the progressive failure profile of NHTSA Campaign 25V455 / Ford Safety Recall 25S75 (Low-Pressure Fuel Pump Failure). In this EcoBoost architecture, the Active Grill Shutter (AGS) module shares critical voltage paths, grounding blocks, and wiring looms with the engine management and fuel delivery systems. The sudden network communication loss is diagnostic proof of a severe voltage drop or electrical short caused by the high-friction fuel pump degradation detailed in Recall 25S75. This circuit failure instantly starved the engine of fuel under turbo boost, inducing an extreme lean-out condition. The resulting pre-ignition forces violently shattered the internal piston rings (the loud banging), which then gouged the cylinder walls, wiped out compression, fouled the crankcase with fuel residue, and blew the head gasket.Request for Action: Ford's current VIN parameters for Recall 25S75 have not yet captured my specific vehicle despite it matching the exact production window, component setup, and catastrophic failure sequence. I am requesting that the NHTSA log this case as definitive evidence of consequential engine destruction originating from the 25V455 fue

The Bronco has 67,000 miles on it which shows a clear manufacturer defect. It is available to be inspected as well to confirm. My wife’s and unborn child’s safety was put at risk by losing acceleration and losing control of the vehicle briefly as it began to shake from the engine misfiring. This easily could have caused a serious wreck had more traffic been present at the time. The dealership has not been able to confirm this on other cars. The engine has been inspected by a Ford Dealership. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the failure and only appeared shortly after the engine over-compressed and began to shake.

There has been an SSM release by Ford (SSM 51415) acknowledging that 2021-2022 Bronco vehicles flat towed in neutral may experience inconsistent or unintended ABS (anti-lock brake) module activation while being towed. The ABS module exits sleep mode unexpectedly due to road vibration input during towing, which can cause brake drag or lockup while the vehicle is being flat towed behind a motorhome. This is a safety concern as unexpected braking of the towed vehicle can affect the towing vehicle's stability and control at highway speeds. The vehicle is being operated exactly as documented in the Ford owner's manual, which explicitly supports neutral flat towing. Ford has developed a software update to address this defect but is declining to cover it under warranty or goodwill, instead classifying it as non-covered maintenance. The issue has been confirmed by an authorized Ford dealership who identified SSM 51415 as applicable. A community workaround requiring removal of fuses 28 and 29 to disable the ABS pump has emerged among owners, indicating this is a widespread known issue affecting safety during a manufacturer-approved towing method. Ford should issue a TSB or recall and cover the software correction at no cost to owners.

My vehicle is experiencing potential electrical issues which appear to be similar to the same 12-volt battery management failures that are currently recalled in the Bronco Sport models. The "Charging System Service Now" alarm continues to pop up, sometimes every 30 seconds. I am also not able to use my communication and navigation system, and I am not sure if this is related to the same electrical system malfunctions. Furthermore, on three recent occasions, my vehicle stalled while I was pulling out of a street which was on a slight incline, another while I was on a hill in a parking lot, and another while I was reversing and putting my car into 1st gear to drive. During all of these occasions, my vehicle stalled and did not automatically re-start which had me blocking traffic while I turned my vehicle back on. All of these issues have affected the safety of myself and my passengers due to the unexpected stalling as well as electrical power loss, including loss of navigation/communications. It has also resulted in me getting pulled over by law enforcement twice due to swerving while I was looking at the screen when it went black and the other because I was speeding because my Charging System Service alarm went off and I was also unable to determine the speed limit of that road without having my navigation screen working. I believe I have contacted the Ford Dealership regarding the specific loss of the communication and navigation issue and was told they did not have the parts/software available at this time. I have taken my vehicle to an Advance Auto Parts store when the "Charging System Service Now" first appeared and was told it was potentially the alternator. I will have to locate the documentation at a later time.

I would like to update my previous safety concern since both concerns are related to separate recall issues. This concern is related to my vehicle experiencing potential electrical issues which appear to be similar to the same 12-volt battery management failures that are currently recalled in the Bronco Sport models. The "Charging System Service Now" alarm continues to pop up, sometimes every 30 seconds. I have not able to use my communication and navigation system for months now which has caused continuous issues which first started with my gps taking me to a completely different location on several occasions. This has caused me to get lost, be late, and be distracted while trying to fix the navigation error. These electrical issues have affected the safety of myself and my passengers due to the potential for complete electrical power loss, including loss of navigation/communications. It has also resulted in me getting pulled over by law enforcement twice: Once, where I received a warning for failing to use my turn signal when exiting which was the result of my entire screen going black while I was using my GPS and panicked. The second time was for speeding: 1. I was distracted because the Charging System Service alarm popped up on my dashboard. 2. My navigation screen was not working which I what I used to monitor the speed limit and maintain correct speed when the sign was not visible. 3. According to research, this may have affected the accuracy of the speed gun since I did not agree with the speed the officer detected. Research into this issue did, in fact, indicate that electromagnetic interference caused by the electrical faults and alternator issues can produce broadband noise or EMI which may overload or confuse the sensitivity of the radar gun, causing a false speed reading. Yes, the Ford Dealership was contacted, and I was told they did not have the parts/software available to fix the electrical issue. A mechanic also indicated issues with the alternator.

I am submitting this complaint regarding an open safety recall on my vehicle, NHTSA Recall 25V721 (Manufacturer Recall 25SB5), which has been active since October 29, 2025. As of today, the recall remains incomplete and the manufacturer states that no remedy or parts are available, with no estimated timeline provided. The recall involves a potential issue where a front seat frame height-adjust pivot bolt may loosen or dislodge, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. According to the manufacturer, this condition may not be identifiable without an incident or collision. My concern is that: 1.The recall has been open for over three months with no interim remedy, inspection protocol, or mitigation guidance offered to owners. 2.The manufacturer has not provided clear written guidance on whether the vehicle is considered safe for continued operation while awaiting the remedy, beyond stating that parts are unavailable. 3.Owners are left in a prolonged state of uncertainty, despite the recall being classified as safety-related. 4.The lack of interim guidance or remedy availability is causing financial and practical hardship, as vehicles with open safety recalls are restricted from certain lawful uses, even when no symptoms are present. I am requesting that NHTSA review whether the manufacturer’s delay in providing a remedy—or interim safety guidance—meets expectations for timely resolution of a safety recall. I am also requesting that NHTSA encourage the manufacturer to provide either: •An interim inspection or mitigation procedure, or •Clear guidance on vehicle operability and risk while awaiting the final remedy. Thank you for your review of this matter.

When braking(going down hill) the Bronco comes to a complete stop and the brakes feel good. But a split second after the full stop, the truck starts to creep forward for about a foot and then you hear a "click noise" and the truck abruptly stops. This is a very scary feeling wondering if your gonna roll into cross traffic. This happens every morning(once every day) and the rest of the day the brakes feel good. This issue has been happening for the last 7 days. I made an appointment with Ford dealer to look at it. Service writer tried looking up any recalls or complaints on this issue and couldn't find anything? On the BroncoG6 forum online, there apparently are other Bronco owners complaining about the same issue. One owner (online) stated that the dealer reprogrammed the ABS system and his truck hasn't repeated the creep anymore. There haven't been any brake, ABS or any warning lamps at all when this happens. This really needs to be resolved before someone get injured.

I believe my vehicle has suffered a cracked/fractured or broken intake valve on cylinder number 4. There is very low compression in that cylinder. I checked it and it only managed to produce 25psi. I inspected the cylinder with a borescope camera and there is no damage or excessive wear to the piston or cylinder bore. They both look pristine with no signs of anything. I could not see either the intake or exhaust valves on my camera. They are the only pieces of the engine I could not inspect that could possible cause a compression issue. It is my understanding that ford is aware of an issue of this happening on some 2.7 Ecoboost engines?

There is a loud clunk and physical movement of the vehicle when shifting from park through to reverse and eventually to drive—it’s the P to R which is most noticeable. I’ve had 3rd party mechanics inspect the clunk, had Ford replace the driveshaft, conducted a trans fluid flush, but the clunk persists. I am concerned that one day, the vehicle will not shift out of park or potentially damage the transmission to an undriveable state outside of warranty. This has persisted for several years. I own a 2022 Ford Bronco. My vehicle has an electronic brake booster failure that causes multiple warning messages, brake system faults, and loss or reduction of brake assist. When this happens, the vehicle also prevents the 4-wheel drive system from engaging or switching modes. This is especially dangerous during winter conditions. When driving in snow or slippery conditions, I am unable to engage 4WD when it is needed most, while also experiencing brake system warnings. The vehicle becomes difficult to control and does not feel safe to drive. The dealership confirmed this is a known issue affecting multiple Ford Broncos and that the electronic brake booster part is currently back-ordered and unavailable. I was told many vehicles are affected, yet there is no recall for the 2022 model year, even though newer model years have a recall for the same component. This issue creates a serious safety risk due to impaired braking performance and inability to use 4-wheel drive in hazardous conditions. The windshield washer fluid reservoir cracked along its seam and drains completely after a few hours. This was not due to an accident and I have not done off-roading. I live in a snowy environment and not having an operating windshield washer is a MAJOR safety hazard as road salt quickly builds up on the windshield dramatically reducing forward visibility. It also affects the rear window washer, but that’s not as troubling an issue. The defective reservoir is available for inspection. My local mechanic confirmed that the reservoir is cracked. My photo shows the fluid leaking onto the ground. The component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance, but has been inspected by a mechanic at my local Chevron station. A “washer fluid low” warning and idiot light appears after the reservoir drains, goes off when fluid is added, and goes on again when the fluid drains out again. I have ordered a replacement reservoir from Ford (which has been revised from the original) plus two required hoses for $477.28 (without installation). Concerns a safety-related defect involving the infotainment system in my 2022 Bronco, which is directly related to an active recall and has not been properly addressed by the manufacturer or dealership. Ford issued a recall concerning the infotainment system due to a safety concern. For over a quarter, Ford had no available fix. The entire time I had my Bronco, my infotainment system repeatedly malfunctioned, required frequent resets, & ultimately failed completely. When I contacted the dealership 10/23/25, the earliest service appt was 12/17/25. Upon arrival, I was informed that the infotainment system would need to be repaired before the recall software update could be applied. I explained that the failure itself was the reason for the recall. Despite this, I was required to pay a $196 diagnostic fee to determine if the failure was recall-related. After the eval, the dealership stated the failure was not Ford’s responsibility & provided an estimate of approximately $1,672.61 w/o tax to repair the system on a '22 vehicle. This determination contradicts the stated safety basis of the recall. I contacted my insurance provider to explore coverage. The claim was denied, w/the insurer stating the issue was not caused by an accident or break-in, but was consistent w/a vehicle defect. Despite this, I was still charged the diagnostic fee. Research indicates the recall involves an electrical defect, not only a software issue. A non-functioning infotainment system impacts access to safety alerts & vehicle information, which presents a legitimate safety risk. Ford & the dealership refused to repair the system under the recall, refund the diagnostic fee, or acknowledge the failure as recall-related. I'm continuing to operate a vehicle w/a known safety defect. I'm requesting NHTSA review if recall remedies are being improperly limited, if consumers are being charged for recall-related defects , and if manufacturer &dealership practices comply w/ fed safety requirements.

See attached document for complaint. Dear Ford Motor Company, NHTSA Officials, and Lindsay Ford of Wheaton: I am the registered owner of a 2022 Ford vehicle, XXXXX. I am in receipt of NHTSA Safety Recall Notice 22S72 (dated November 2025, enclosed herein), which states in part: "Vehicle identification Number (VIN): [partial VIN redacted] ... This recall applies to vehicles which may have a defective motor assembly that can cause sudden loss of power, stalling, or fire risk while driving. Until parts are available, Ford recommends parking the vehicle outdoors and away from structures." I am terrified to drive this vehicle. The recall explicitly warns of fire risk, sudden power loss, and inability to restart, all life-threatening conditions. Ford admits no remedy is currently available, and the interim instruction to park outdoors is not a fix; it is an admission that the vehicle is unreasonably dangerous. My Legal Rights Under Federal and State Law: NHTSA Authority (49 CFR § 577.5) "The manufacturer shall remedy the defect or noncompliance without charge when the vehicle is presented for remedy." 1. Ford has failed to provide a timely remedy and instead issued a "park outside" advisory, which does not eliminate the hazard. 2. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. § 2301 et seq.) Ford's express and implied warranties of safety and merchantability have been breached. A vehicle that can catch fire or stall without warning is not fit for its ordinary purpose (safe transportation). 3. Maryland Lemon Law / UCC § 2-314 (Implied Warranty of Merchantability) A known fire hazard renders the vehicle defective and unmerchantable. I have a right to revocation of acceptance and replacement or refund. 4. Ford's Own Recall Language The notice states: "If you are not comfortable driving your vehicle, contact your dealer. "I am not comfortable. I am afraid for my life and my family's safety. I am copying the dealership as well. DEMAND FOR RELIEF: Within seven (7) business days of receipt of this letter, I demand: 1. Written confirmation that the replacement vehicle is not subject to Recall 22S72 or any open safety recalls 4. $1,500 inconvenience stipend for stress, loss of use, and reliance on unsafe transportation FAILURE TO COMPLY: If Ford fails to meet this demand within seven (7) business days, I will pursue small claims/superior court action for breach of warranty, revocation, and damages; and, seek punitive damages for reckless endangerment (knowingly selling/distributing a fire-hazard vehicle).

I am writing to formally report a safety-related malfunction involving the parking brake system in my vehicle. The issue poses a significant safety hazard while driving and warrants investigation for potential design or manufacturing defects. During normal operation, the parking brake actuator malfunctioned, causing the vehicle to pull to one side and creating an unsafe driving condition. When I took the car to an authorized dealership, I was informed that the issue was due to a faulty parking brake switch. The switch was replaced; however, the malfunction persisted. Further inspection revealed that the parking brake motor and actuator needed replacement. Even after these repairs, while driving, the dashboard repeatedly displayed warnings such as: •“Parking brake engaged,” •“Please release parking brake,” and •“Parking brake system overheated.” When attempting to release the brake, the system would only disengage after manually pressing the release button, rather than automatically disengaging when the vehicle began to move — as it should. This malfunction not only causes confusion but also increases the risk of loss of vehicle control or brake system failure during operation. Given the repeated failures and persistent warnings, I believe this issue represents a potential safety defect that should be reviewed by your agency to determine if other vehicles are affected. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and to ensuring this issue is properly addressed to prevent future incidents.

Good afternoon! My car started having issues going in reverse before I received the recall notification. It would nearly stall out and happened a couple times prior to getting the notice. Once I got the notice, I reached out to the dealer to see if anything could be done and was told no, not yet. Now, months later, it has gotten so bad that I am having to leave my house when it's cool (it doesn't stall as bad when it's cool out), and park my car in a certain way each day to ensure that I can effectively leave work without my car stalling. What is worse is that now, on hot days, my car semi-stalls, when I am driving on toll roads or back country roads on the way home. It loses power or jerks. I have an hour commute each way and this is NOT okay. Frankly, it is very scary sometimes. I have reached out to the dealership to ask them if it's safe for me to drive my car or if there is something they could do and I am constantly told that there is no solution, I have to wait, and they "legally" cannot tell me that it is safe to drive my car. They offered the option to rent a car, but I would have to pay a minimum of $45 out of pocket, per DAY, and I cannot afford to do that! I am already paying $600 a month for this car, now they want me to pay an additional $1350-$1395 a month just so I can feel safe? This has been going on for roughly 7 months. Who knows how long a "solution" will take. 7 months x $1350 a month = I would be out almost $9500 on TOP OF my car payment with no end in sight. I feel like this is moving at a snails pace. The problem is getting worse and I am getting the run around. No help is being offered to make me feel safe driving this car! They seem annoyed when I ask about it (I have only reached out three times in the last 4 months). The recall even says that it could stall while driving. So, honestly, what is it going to take for me to not die in a crash when my car stops on a high-speed road? Seriously. What can be done?

This is about Brake system and vacuum line linked Bronco. This is highly related to my own safety as when I go uphill or highway, this 'brake failure system' always is on and sometimes you are very hard to press a brake pedal as it's very stiff and not easy to press using your foot. But the thing is it comes and goes and sometimes it stopped and coming back. I today asked for a repair at dealership and they charge me 650 dollars as there's no official recall. Although it happened before my warranty's up and there's so many people suffering this identical issue but Ford didn't do anything and charge money to customers.

We purchased the above referenced vehicle new back in 2022 and have received numerous recalls since 2023. Many of these recalls have no remedy or remedies not yet available. Thankfully, most of these recalls are not urgent and do not pose much of a problem. However, the most recent recall 25S75/25V455 poses a threat due to loss of fuel pressure and recently our vehicle has shown signs of malfunctioning. I am majorly concerned because our daughter is supposed to use this vehicle in February 2026 and the way the recall repairs are trending, it may take months or years to remedy. I am writing this correspondence so you are aware of the recall and put it on your radar to track. I plan on writing again if a significant amount of time has passed with no remedy per Ford's direction if we are having difficulty getting our vehicle repaired in a "reasonable" amount of time. There is no reason Ford should be producing faulty, no remedy vehicles. Families have to rely on their vehicles and should feel safe and confident, not worrying if the car stalls mid highway with their child in it.

My car has a recall NHTSA #25V025 for the rear shock absorber external reservoir corrosion since1/21/2025. A few weeks ago the recall status shows remedy available so I brought it in to a Ford Dealership on 8/15/2025. The tech inspected the car and both absorbers showed signs of oil leaking and they need to be replaced. The pictures also showed the reservoirs are close to be separated from the vehicle. The dealer told me the parts are in back order with no ETA despite the recall status shows remedy available. The dealer told me the car is safe to drive despite the fact in the recall they stated "If a rear shock absorber external reservoir separates from the vehicle, it can create a potential road hazard for other road users, increasing the risk of a crash." I don't have a car to drive since 8/15/2025 and Ford is refusing to provide a loaner or rental vehicle on their cost.

When my brakes are cold and I stop on a hill...the brakes do not hold and the car moves about a foot forward. Then something kicks in and it jerks the car to a stop (all the while my foot is completely pressed down on the brake. No warning lamps, no lights, nothing...just rolls when brake is completely applied. It only does this when the brakes are cold. After they warm up it doesn't do it anymore. The dealer has looked at it and couldn't replicate (because the brakes weren't cold) and told me to bring it back if it happens again. It happens every morning but by the time the dealer gets it it doesn't do it anymore. A PLETHORA of bronco owners are experiencing this same thing. Our thread on [XXX] is full of people experiencing the same thing. Some guy in Canada said he had every brake part replaced and it still happened. Then they did some sort of software update and he hasn't experienced it since. Why is this update not available to all? This is a serious hazard! Someone is going to get hurt! Engine started stalking and acting like it wasn’t getting enough gas about a month ago. Took to a dealership and they said u had a cracked file injector line. They supposedly fixed the issue. Today it started stalling again and shut off in the middle of the highway and wouldn’t crank back up. Tried jumping battery and it would turn over but acted like it wasn’t getting any gas when trying to give gas and take off then it would shut off again. Had to get a tow back to dealer ship.

ODI #11677056STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER

The rear hardtop panel on my 2022 Ford Bronco has developed serious cracking and surface separation after only three years of light, garage-kept use. The fiberglass is fracturing near the seams, exposing the underlying material. Water is now visibly collecting in the openings, which will lead to internal moisture intrusion, mold, and eventually corrosion of structural components underneath the hardtop mounting area. This poses a serious long-term safety concern, especially in the event of rear impacts or rollover situations. A Ford dealer inspected the issue and submitted a warranty claim, which was denied. The Ford representative acknowledged the damage but said they could not act without a recall or broader investigation. No warning lights or messages appeared; the issue is external and has progressed gradually. The damage began well before my bumper-to-bumper coverage expired, but has recently worsened. Ford’s own General Service Bulletin GSB 23-7174 lists rear hardtop panel cracking and edge delamination as warrantable conditions. My panel clearly fits those descriptions. Still, I was quoted nearly $10,000 for a full replacement, which is unreasonable. This is not an isolated case. Many 2021–2022 Bronco owners have posted identical problems online. Ford is clearly aware of this issue—which is why they issued that bulletin—but is denying claims unless pressured through complaints. I believe this is a materials or manufacturing defect and ask NHTSA to investigate this clear and ongoing failure.

Rear passenger shock was leaking oil around braking system creating burnt oil smell while driving. At this point mileage for warranty was over by 2,000 miles and was not covered by Ford warranty. We had to pay over $900.00 for the replacement from Ford. Fast forward 2 months, on the freeway driving 70 mph, the rear driver’s side shock reservoir detached and almost hit the car behind us. Again, we are paying Ford again for the other shock. This recall really needs to be in forced a lot quicker because of the safety of other drivers.

I have already had to have a faulty fuel pump repair within the first month or so of onset of purchase where vehicle just lost power and died on side of the road and had to be towed. Then had to fight the dealership and write complaint to Ford after having defective camshaft which took multiple attempts and documentation for FORD and the dealership to repair properly. Vehicle would shift between 2wd/4wd/AWD randomly while driving. Then I had been notified about a windshield wiper motor recall that just dropped of out the system before attempting repair. When turning right, with the turn signal active, the turn signal will over-correct back to neutral and activate the left turn signal. This happens almost every time a sharp right turn is made, such as leaving a parking lot. The signal stalk must then by manually moved back to neutral. This is repeatable and occurs multiple times a week. This creates risk by presenting a false left turn signal to other drivers. Hazardous Recall Issue Not Being Addressed Short Term With Permanent Safety Solution Many Months Away Creating Liability For Me, Destroying My Property and Putting Myself and Other Motorist In Jeopardy. For the past month fluid from my Ford Bronco has been leaking leaving stains on newly paved driveway. We just received the following recall... REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS MAY EXPERIENCE CORROSION BETWEEN THE EXTERNAL RESERVOIR MOUNTING FLANGE AND THE DAMPER BODY, RESULTING IN POSSIBLE SEPARATION OF THE EXTERNAL RESERVOIR. CUSTOMERS MAY EXPERIENCE... LEAKING FLUID NEAR THE REAR WHEELS PRIOR TO THE DETACHMENT OF AN EXTERNAL RESERVOIR. Safety Risk IF A REAR SHOCK ABSORBER EXTERNAL RESERVOIR SEPARATES FROM THE VEHICLE, IT CAN CREATE A POTENTIAL ROAD HAZARD FOR OTHER ROAD USERS, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. Even though the notice says the recall resolution is not expected for over 6 months, I was willing to pay the deductible for my Ford Warranty to get the safety issue fixed, even if I never get reimbursed for Ford's vehicle issue. Since this is a safety issue and are fearful of the the reservoir tank separating since our vehicle is already loosing significant fluid from the reservoir. I brought my vehicle into the local Ford dealership and they confirmed the issue with my car is the same regarding the Recall notice. Even with the warranty, Ford has rejected the claim to replace the shock absorbers. So now I just have to wait while it destroys my driveway and hope a detachment doesn't occur and jeopardize either myself or others driving around me. Vehicle would turn over but would not start - Check Engine light came on - codes displayed on code reader indicated that the high pressure fuel sensor and the low pressure fuel sensor were having issues. I had the vehicle towed to the closest Ford Dealer and they ended up replacing the fuel sensors and fuel pump. Thought that it was a faulty fuel pump. The Mileage I believe was 59516. I live in Northern California and we have snow. I was driving after dark about 6:30PM and it was snowing. [XXX]. I was on the freeway to head to a high school performance and picking up passengers. I was on the road about 15 minutes and I was suddenly unable to see the road, it was dark and I thought my lights went off. I pulled over, with 3 passengers to find that my headlights were covered in snow and the light was not illuminating the road. I removed the snow and was able to exit at the next offramp about a half mile ahead. I stayed on the side roads that were a bit more protected by large pine trees. I was able to make it to safely, but I was at risk, with my passengers and other vehicles on the road. Thankfully, I was able to move my car later that night to get it home when it stopped snowing. I then called Ford in Auburn the next day and they said they were not aware of this issue but would see me and made an appointment. I then looked online and found many people complaining about this on many vehicles. It stems from the fact that LED lights do not emit heat. The heat is what keeps the snow from accumulating in the first place. The lights continue to be on, but you are only able to see a small glow under the snow until there is enough snow they are not seen at all. I was at the service department today at Auburn Ford that they looked at the vehicle and then looked online and can see other people with the same issue. Ford has not addressed this issue. I drive a 2022 Ford Bronco and I now have had to replace my windshield for a third time in 5 months from just a tiny rock hitting it. This most recent time on January 22, 2024 was a tiny rock that hit on my windshield on the lower left side of the drivers view. It made contact on the brow or bottom part of the windshield and the following morning it had grown vertically 3 inches. I went to drive to the grocery store and it was raining. The crack then grew as I was driving horizontally across the entire windshield almost reach the other edge on the passenger side of it. I do believe it’s the more straight angle of the windshield that makes it take direct impact so I am proposing Ford go to a strong gorilla glass for its windshields like Jeep did. I’ve heard from a few Bronco owners and Ford employees this has been an issue. Can you please look into this as I don’t think Ford Bronco owners should be punished with constant windshield repairs.

Ford is experiencing a problem under normal driving conditions on multi year Broncos (21' to current) that have very limited miles - with regards to the front pinion seal leaking badly (noticed during a routine oil change) and it appears to be IMHO a design flaw that not only impacts the seal but also the front differential, internal parts and possibly the axle. IMHO, Ford needs to look at the design and redesign and test. This has also happened multiple times on the same vehicle (from Bronco6G forum reports). ODI #11528249VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

On rare but recurring occasions, perhaps twice a month, powering on the adaptive cruise control results in one of two issues: 1. The ACC will engage, but set itself for 15 MPH, even if driving at highway speeds. When this occurs, the ACC either cancels itself out, or remains on until it detects a malfunction, and then cancels itself out. 2. On rare occasion, the autonomous breaking will, upon powering on of the cruise control, seem to detect a phantom vehicle that is not there and attempt to aggressively brake. The Ford Bronco ACC is unique in that it attempts to set the ACC on when the system is powered on, unlike other vehicles where the driver must power it on and then set it.

2022 Ford bronco has by default an auto engine shut off when coming to a stop and set of conditions are met. The event occurred to a MANUAL transmission 2022 ford bronco. ~4/5/23, driver was driving up the canyon at an incline when encountering stop and go traffic. After stopping on the incline, the engine shut off per normal operation after shifting to neutral with the brake pedal firmly pushed. About 1-2 seconds after engine shutoff, while driver has brake firmly pushed, the car begins to roll back, with an apparent loss in brake power. Only after driver clutched in to first gear and stalled the vehicle did Vehicle arrest in its rearward motion, narrowly avoiding backing into the car that is stopped behind. From an outward observation the auto start/stop is not suited for standard manual transmission operation when stopped on an incline. The roll back apparently is due to loss of brake power/boost when the auto-start stop function stops the engine.

The wiper system when turned to the standard or fast wiping position during any rainfall condition will slowing reduce its speed in less than a minute to the slowest speed for both positions and stay at that speed regardless of rainfall conditions. Even in normal rainfall conditions this has caused serious responses because of the delay with wiper returning to clear water from window. Whether your coming to a stop behind someone or passing on a turnpike with semi's or even following in heavy traffic. I have been able to work around with a switch back and forth from standard to fast or fast to standard to keep the wipers moving however the same issue arises. Today is my first scheduled oil change and tire rotation, which is when I asked about the wipers. The service person had not been aware of the wiper issue. When driving in heavy rain and you put the wipers on High (or even Low), they automatically switch to Intermittent after about 1 minute. They actually stop wiping at a high speed and pause between wipes for several seconds. In order to keep the wipers going in heavy, blinding rain you have to keep switching the wipers from Low to High to keep them moving. This is a safety hazard since you honestly cannot see though the windshield during heavy rain. Our Bronco is currently at the dealership being serviced. I do not have auto wipers or rain sensing wipers. I’ve now driven through two major rain storms and sleet all three instances required the windshield wipers to be placed into constant on speed of medium and high. The issue results after the wipers are running in these constant on positions for a short while. The issue: The wiper blade speed while in demand of constant on medium and high speed will randomly reduce speed to intermittent making a massive safety hazard when at higher speeds and visibility is poor do to high rain, sleet, and snow volume. To get the wipers to operate at the intended speed the driver must rotate the speed control to a slower speed and back up to the required speed to handle the weather situation. This has to be done frequently and is a major hazard. Many people are reporting this same wiper issue on Bronco Forums such as Bronco Nation and Bronco6G.

have a wiper control issue where at fast speeds the wipers start to slow down and go intermittent. It almost impossible to see at times. You have to play around with it to keep them going. So if it is raining small or hard all of a sudden they stop working and go intermittently and some times stop completely. This happens a lot when raining and I have told the dealer about it a few times and showed them as well from video.

When driving in the rain with the wipers set on the low or high constant setting, the wipers will intermittently slow down or stop all together. When this issue occurs I have to cycle the wipers off then back on and the issue often repeats itself and leads to periods of zero visibility during cycling off on to correct issue. This is a serious safety concern that my dealer said is "normal" "that's how the rain sensing wiper system works". This cannot be right, I have never experienced a vehicle where the wipers slow down or stop whenever they want.

Every time I use my wipers in low or high mode after about :30 seconds they reduce speed. When driving on the highway in the rain this is extremely dangerous and the driver has to keep switching modes over and over to get the wipers to work. With the windshield wipers on in the continuous low setting, the wipers will slow down and stop after a minute or two of operation. This has happened more than once while driving in the rain. The wipers were not obstructed, no snow/ice (40 to 50 degrees outside) and it was raining, so the windshield was not dry. This stopping of the wipers caused me to remove one hand from the steering wheel, and fiddle with the wiper controls to get the wipers to start back up, while the rain outside was obscuring my vision. I switched the wipers off and back to the continuous setting, and the same thing happened after a few more minutes, the wipers slowed down and stopped. The wipers were never on the intermittent setting, always on continuous setting. I don't find it safe to be driving in the rain with these wipers, since I do need both hands on the wheel, incase there is a pooling of water on the road, which can pull the vehicle to one side and I need both hands to correct, as well as loss of visibility when the windshield fills with rain when the wipers stop.

Windshield wipers stop working while driving in both heavy rain and light rain. When turned on low, or high, not intermittent, the wipers slow down, and sometimes stop altogether. I was driving in heavy rain on the highway and the were on high. Repeatedly they kept slowing down, and then stopping. I had to turn them off, and back on each time, to get them to work on high again. This happened 6- 7 times. Not only was it very scary to lose visibilty completely, but also distracting to have to adjust them over and over. I was terrified I would get in an accident. I finally pulled off the highway. The same happened in light rain. I did get video of that incident. This has occurred 8 times in the last month, and one time 2 months ago. The problem seems to be getting worse and now occurs everytime I drive it in the rain. I did let my dealer know today. They had heard nothing about it. I will be taking it in to get looked at in 3 days. Brondes Ford Toledo. Unsure if it will be able to be duplicated without driving in the rain. But I do have video from driving in light rain. Unfortunately I was unable to take video on the highway and a few other times. There are no warning lights or information showing me there is a problem. I felt very unsafe driving the vehicle. This is a hazard. This application will not let me upload the video.

I turn my wipers onto the constant wipe setting, either high or low, and after about 20-30 or so wipes, they will decrease their speed across the windshield over about 5 or 10 wipes until they pause for about 3 or 4 seconds after each wipe and then continue a slow wipe. I will turn them off and on immediately after this happens. When I turn them back on to high, they will operate on high and again repeat the slowing down speed and frequency after about 20-30 wipes until they are very slow and pause for about 4 seconds which is slower than even the slowest intermittent wipe settings. This happened during a recent ice storm during a long drive making it difficult to keep the window clear causing a hazardous condition. It happened again just testing in my garage. I reported this to Ford who said they do not have a fix for it.

The wipers will slow down or stop even during heavy rain and on a constant setting (not an intermittent setting). I have to turn the wiper speed switch off and on to get them to wipe continuously again, which is very dangerous during heavy rains. This has been reported already as an issue by many bronco owners and needs to be investigated. While the smart wiper feature may be a good idea, slowing down in the middle of a rainstorm due to a programming issue or design flaw is extremely dangerous.

I had driven the bronco the day before and there was no damage or crack. When the crack occurred, no one was in the vehicle. When I brought the bronco back to the house, I wiped the rain away for a picture and found a very tiny chip in the crack. The windshield wipers have some sort of system that will automatically slow or increase their speed from what I can tell but the system is not working as intended or if working right is downright unsafe. This morning I had heavy rain in my area and moved the setting to the highest and fastest it could go, after about 20-30 seconds it would automatically slow itself down to where it would only wipe every 3 seconds or so which during the heavy rain was not enough and I could not see. To "reset" the automatic system I would have to cycle the intensity modes on the wipers up and down every 30 seconds or so to keep my blades moving fast enough to repel the water off the windows. From reading other forum posts a lot of people are having this issue and FORD is blowing it off to customers who take them in for repair or to be looked at for this issue. As a concerned consumer, I was informed by the dealership that the new Bronco comes with "smart wipers" that automatically switch to a slow intermittent feature after running on constant Medium or High speed for around 45 seconds to a minute. However, during a heavy rain on the morning of 2/14/23, my wipers stopped on me, putting me in a dangerous situation where I almost ran off the road due to poor visibility. This is a major safety issue that needs to be addressed urgently. After researching, I discovered that this problem is widespread among Bronco owners and there are no warning lights to alert drivers of the issue. The dealership also failed to inform me of this problem when I purchased the vehicle just 5 days ago. As a loyal Ford customer, I am disappointed that this is the only Ford vehicle I have owned that has this issue. This is so dangerous and I was only driving 30mph. This now happens consistently, and I have to turn the wipers on/off to clear rain/snow off my windshield to allow me to drive. When driving with the windshield wipers on low speed, after about 30 seconds the wipers will stop and then go into "intermit" mode. To correct you have to turn the wipers from hi to lo, and then the exact same problem occurs. I did take the vehicle to the dealer who inspected and told me this is normal due to the "smart wiper system" that they are equipped with. This is a highly unsafe condition since its very hard to see in heavy rain

After 30-50 seconds of operation, the wiper speed reduces significantly, regardless of how much rain is falling on the windshield. This is particularly problematic during heavy rain fall. When the speed of the wipers is reduced or increased, then returned to the previous position, they maintain adequate speed for another 30-50 seconds before the speed is reduced once more.

On January 17, 2023, while driving down a commonly driven road (Muldoon) in Anchorage, Alaska at approximately 30 mph, I suddenly heard a large air escaping noise "Psh Psh Psh Psh" and it took me a moment to realize what was happening--the dash indicated the PSI of my rear driver's-side tire was deflating rapidly, to completely flat. Had the vehicle lost control in these snowy conditions, it could have ran into multiple other cars on the road--not ruling out the possibility of a roll-over type accident. When I pulled over into a parking lot, I figured that it was just a flat tire, so I jacked up the vehicle. However, at about the point that the front driver's side tire was leaving the ground, but the rear one wasn't, I determined there must have been an additional issue. I looked behind the tire at the suspension, and it appears that an arm of the suspension had broken off and either destabilized the tire to the point where it lacked a seal around the rim and the air leaked out entirely, or put a hole in the tire. No hole was identifiable, but the tire was so deflated it was hard to tell. When I called the dealership, Kendall Ford of Anchorage, they let me know that they didn't have an appointment until March 2023--at which point I refuted that making me wait 2 months with an undriveable vehicle with under 5,000 miles on it was unacceptable--especially for the price I paid (nearly $70,000). No one has been able to inspect the part yet, but it is clear from photos that the rear suspension on the driver's side does not match the passenger's side rear suspension. There were no warning of failure before this occurred, and the vehicle had been treated very well--it has never been off trail or offroading in the sense that it was in an untraveled area. It has been to archangel pass once, but I would not consider this offroading because the trail is not particularly difficult to pass.

During a heavy downpour the wipers "automatically" slowed down to an unsafe speed; continuous to intermittent. This caused an inability to clearly see out of the front windshield. The only way to "reset" the wipers to normal functionality was to change the wiper setting from continuous to intermittent and back, or off and then back to the desired setting. During this period of time of > 3 seconds there was zero visibility creating a serious safety hazard. This operational behavior of the wiper motor system has occurred several times though during less intense rainfall.

With the wipers in the continuous on, high speed setting, the wipers will operate as expected for approximately 30 to 40 seconds. After that time, there will be a delay between wipes that becomes progressively longer until the wipers are only occasionally wiping the windshield. When this occurs during rainy conditions, visibility deteriorates considerably. Manually switching the wipers into a different setting, then back to continuous on will cause the wipers to operate as expected for another 30 to 40 seconds, at which point the progressive delay occurs again. I've taken it to the local Ford dealership, where they weren't able to pull any useful codes or information for a quick fix unfortunately. As I've researched into this further, this sounds like a frequently occurring issue; wherein a problem with an axle solenoid or a powertrain control module seems likely blames.

If windshield wipers are placed in normal or fast mode they start out fine, then get slower and slower until they stop completely. I needed to toggle between normal and fast just to keep them working. (I verified I’m NOT in interment mode).

When the windshield wipers are set to normal operation (not intermittent), the wipers would slow down and sometimes stop completely after a few wipes. There is no a automatic wiper mode. This is a safety defect on a new car. The wipers would stop during heavy rain. It does not matter if the vehicle is moving or not.

ODI #11496843VISIBILITY/WIPER

The windshield wiper will not stay on continuously. It malfunctions every time I have it on continuous low or high speed. I was driving in heavy rain with the windshield wiper on high continuous speed. After about 30 seconds it goes into intermittent mode, only cleaning the windshield every 3-4 seconds or so. It makes driving very difficult in the rain and dangerous as I cannot see the road. Same thing happens on the regular continuous speed setting. It is reproducible every time I use the wipers rain or shine. I checked on the Ford Bronco Forum website, and it is a common complaint.

There is an open recall on my vehicle for possible poor adhesion between the windshield and body (violation of federal motor vehicle safety standard FMVSS 212). I took my vehicle to a Ford dealership on 12/5/22 for this repair, as well as the repair other minor issues. I received a call on 12/7/22 from the dealership to inform me that they would not perform the recall fix due to the fact that my windshield has a crack across the middle and could possibly break during the removal. They said that I need to have the windshield replaced at my own cost, then bring it back in so that they can remove the new windshield and perform the recall fix. Nothing in the recall notification says that the windshield must be in "like new" condition in order to be eligible for the repair.

I am filing a complaint because as I was driving my new 2022 Ford Bronco Big Bend the front passenger wheel popped off. There was no previous warning signs to let me know something was wrong. It seems as though the bolts/ lug nuts just snapped as I was driving. The tire popped off rolled back hit the car causing it to bounce and then fall and drag for a bit before I was able to come to a full stop while the wheel rolled down the street. This caused a lot of damage to the car from body to suspension. Luckily I was traveling at low speeds so I was not injured and luckily no one else was near to be injured by the run away wheel. I had the car towed to AutoNation Ford in Katy where they and insurance representatives inspected it. AutoNation has had the car for over a month and they still have not fully repaired the vehicle. The 2022 Bronco is listed as being able to be flat towed behind a motorhome and the software allows it to be put into flat tow mode. 49 states require that flat towed vehicles over a certain weight have supplemental braking. When the supplemental brake system is installed in a Bronco with the 2.7 liter engine it stops working correctly after 45 minutes because the electronic brake booster shuts off. This results in the supplemental braking system not having enough power to activate the brakes and can cause a serious accident because the motorhome cannot stop soon enough. Ford issued TSB 22-2210 to temporarily correct this issue but it simply disables the electronic brake booster (must remove fuses) and again leaves the towed vehicle with insufficient braking. Ford claims they are working a software update due out in September 2022, it is now mid October and no recall has been issued.

When set in flat towing mode the Bronco’s electronic brake boost (EBB) shuts off after 45 minutes or less. Once the EBB shuts off the Bronco’s brakes, which are connected to the motorhome’s brakes via an auxiliary brake system, no longer work properly and will not slow the Bronco. This failure then requires the motorhome’s brakes to stop both the Bronco and the motorhome and creates a serious safety issue because: 1) Stopping distance increases dramatically. 2) The motorhome’s brakes could fade, while descending grades, leading to total braking failure. Nearly all states require towed units in excess of 3,000# to have brakes but once the EBB shuts off the Bronco is in violation of these laws.
