Deferred Failure Risk
Components and defects approaching or past their known service milestones
Worn chain tensioners cause timing chain skip or snap — common on GM 5.3L/6.2L, Ford EcoBoost, VW/Audi EA888, BMW N47/N63. Listen for cold-start rattles.
Water pump failure causes rapid overheating. If the engine overheats even once, head gasket damage is likely — turning a $400 part into a $3,000+ repair.
Degraded transmission fluid destroys clutch packs and solenoids. CVT transmissions are especially sensitive — neglected fluid can result in a $4,000–$8,000 replacement.
Degraded coolant loses corrosion inhibitors and attacks aluminum engine components. Can cause head gasket failure and water pump corrosion.
Worn spark plugs cause misfires that can foul and crack catalytic converters. A $150 tune-up can prevent a $1,200 catalytic converter replacement.
Dirty or failing injectors cause rough idle, reduced fuel economy, and increased emissions. Cleaning costs $100–$200; replacement $800–$1,600.

Warranty will be over in 60 days; the Catalyst Coverter is going back, the Audi dealer and Audi Corporate are delaying the fixture do to some mis communication between dealer and corporate. The problem has to do with DEF gases not being cleanup. The error code is P20EE00 and the engine light is on. The part is under warranty and Audi Corporate is delaying the fixt because the do not wish to pay for the cost. They have had my vehicle for a full week and no decision when to replace the part. I strongly believe they want the warranty to expire so the customer has to pay for cost of the catalyst. The dealer has verified that part is under warranty but corporate does NOT response to the dealer.0
Right passenger windshield wiper arm, broke off and windshield during driving. It started to sprinkle and the automatic windshield wipers came on. The right passenger side wiper arm broke off and went flying over the vehicle. Fortunately the vehicle behind me was far away and was able to maneuver out of the way. I checked and the whole arm broke, not the wiper blade. The drivers side is fine. I read that this is a common issue and that many drivers have had the exact issue on the same side. This spans over several years. I saw from 2008 Q7 to 2016.
Engine started knocking. Excessive use of oil in vehicle. Even after putting oil in and getting the oil changed several times, the vehicle constantly leaks and is consuming massive amounts of oil.
The contact owns a 2015 Audi Q7. The contact stated while refueling the vehicle, the fuel gauge failed to properly indicate that the fuel tank was full. The contact continued refueling the vehicle, and fuel started spilling from the filler neck. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the fuel pump flange. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V298000 (Fuel System Gasoline). The VIN was included, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but was unable to assist. The contact was informed that the vehicle had been repaired by the previous owner. The failure mileage was 60,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Audi Q7. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH and making a left turn, water started leaking from the firewall on the driver's side, and the accelerator pedal became wet. The contact stated that her foot slipped off the pedal and she nearly lost control of the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that water had been leaking on the driver's side and on the passenger's side foot well for over a year. The contact stated that she had contacted an unknown dealer and was informed that water was leaking due to A/C condensation. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring intermittently, and would cause her foot to slip off the pedals. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
Audi Denied Emissions Warranty for covered item.
Driving down the highway, 70 mph, and the middle panel of the panoramic sunroof just shattered. Nothing struck the glass, and the highway was smooth; no potholes or bumps.
The issue is with the engine , the engine has started burning oil after 80000 miles , I have to put a quarter oil every 500 miles , which is not good for the environment, because it burns oil, and pollutes the environment and causing health issues among living things, I am really concerned about it and I have humble request to nhtsa should take action against audi, and I have seen most of Audi engine burns oil , It is requested to recall those audi vehicle, audi has to fix it, thank you
The car constantly needs to get oil. It is unreal that I went for a top off and the next day the oil light is on. The car has always been serviced by the dealer's service center, however no sense is made about this problem. The tail pipes show black that gives proof of oil burning no signs of oil leakage over the hood. I think this is a hazard that could only be after the damage is done. I have had to get oil put into the car thrice within the same week.
The contact owns a 2015 Audi Q7. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bags needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
On 7/4 as I was merging onto the highway I was accelerating to merge onto the main lanes of traffic. I pressed on the accelerator to pickup speed, but when I let off the pedal the vehicle felt like it was continuing to accelerate similar to being on cruise control. I felt like I did not have control of the vehicle. I pressed on the brake pedal and let go to see if it would disengage the acceleration, but it did not. I then continued to press down on the brake pedal and pull over to the emergency lane and park the car. I had total of 6 passengers in vehicle with me, 4 adult and 2 children. After being pulled over I checked to insure the pedal was not stuck on any floor mats, and it was not. I was lucky that there was no traffic on the holiday to avoid any collisions. I carefully resumed to my destination and the vehicle operated normally. I reported to AudiUSA via online chat requesting advice. They suggested I contact a local service center who would charge me to diagnose the vehicle. I have not taken any steps yet given they typically will charge me regardless of determining any issues and identify some other upsell opportunity for service. I'm wondering if anyone else has reported this experience for an Audi Q7 2015 and any actions taken. Also if there is any government programs for safety inspections for unintended acceleration of vehicles. I would have expected Audi or any manufacturer to offer a complimentary inspection given the safety concerns. Thanks.
ABS sensor failed. Caused the warning lights to come on showing failure. The rear brakes locked up in an intersection as a result of sensor failure and I narrowly avoided a serious accident. This has happened twice. Each time when a sensor failed.
The contact owned a 2015 Audi Q7. The contact stated while driving at 45 mph, a vehicle from the opposite side made a left turn while the contact was driving straight which caused the contact to T-bone and hit that other vehicle on the front and rear passenger side. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle's front end was caved in which caused damage to the radiator and brake line. The contact had a concussion and bruises on the upper chest due to the seat belt and whiplash. There was no medical treatment at the scene, but the contact did go to the hospital the next day. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard where the vehicle was later deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 70,000.
Code P00455 check engine light. When I fuel gas tank, fuel pours out from driver's side. Fuel fill is on passenger's side of car.
I am writing to report a problem with Faulty electronic control monitors (ECM). This is a vehicle safety problem, because if the ECM is faulty, drivers won't know when there is truly a problem. Approximately 2 weeks ago, my vehicle check engine light came on. I don't drive the car that often, so I scheduled an appointment and took a picture. The day of my appointment the light wasn't on. The report number 251149 shows a diagnosis of a faulty ECM. I believe there is a problem with the manufacturing, because my car is a 2015 and report numbers 185124 and 180866 also reflect faulty information and electronic control monitors. This shouldn't happen in a car that is ~6 years old and has only 50,000 miles.
The intake pipe between the intercooler and turbo consists of 2 pieces joined with 2 bolts. I was told by the Audi service tech that both of these bolts backed out and the pipe dislodged mid operation, disrupting air flow. Throttle was suddenly completely unresponsive and I was forced to coast to the shoulder of the highway with no throttle control. Link to video sent by service tech: https://app.quik.auto/j/356eeb5b
THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL FAILED WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A BUSY CITY INTERSECTION. AFTER COASTING TO A STOP AND PUSHING THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE ROAD, NONE OF THE FORWARD OR REVERSE GEARS WOULD ENGAGE. TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHO IS ORDERING A NEW FRONT DIFFERENTIAL FROM GERMANY.
MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND MY AC BLOWER IS NOT WORKING
PER AUDI DEALERSHIP AND FIDELITY WARRANTY, CLEANING OF THE SECONDARY AIR PORTS ARE NOT CONSIDERED ESSENTIAL ENOUGH TO BE COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I WAS GIVEN THE REASONING THAT CLEANING IS NOT CONSIDERED A FAILURE OF PARTS; AND THEREFORE, DOES NOT MEET WARRANTY COVERAGE REQUIREMENTS, ALTHOUGH IT DOES ILLUMINATE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND IS DEEMED CRITICAL BY THE AUDI TECHNICIAN. *TR
THE PASSENGER SIDE WIPER BROKE IN HEAVY RAIN. I CALLED THE COMPANY AND THEY REFUSED TO FIX BECAUSE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A KNOWN AND COMMON PROBLEM. *TR
SEATBELTS ARE LOCKED AS I TRY TO PULL THEM FROM THE REEL WHEN I GET INTO THE CAR. IT TAKES MULTIPLE PULLS BEFORE THEY UNLOCK. CAR IS STATIONARY THE STEERING COLUMN SQUEALS AS IT LOWERS AND RAISES WHEN I START CAR AND TURN OFF THE CAR. CAR IS STATIONARY.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND PUT DOWN THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW TO LET AIR INTO THE VEHICLE WHEN I HEARD AN EXPLOSION. THE SUNROOF SHATTERED IN PLACE AND THEN AS I WAS STILL DRIVING THE BROKEN GLASS WAS FALLING INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR.
THE VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED INCREASED MOTOR OIL CONSUMPTION IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS . THE VEHICLE HAS USED ABOUT 3 QUARTS OF OIL IN LESS THAN 2,000 MILES. I WAS TOLD AT THE AUDI OF RIVERSIDE DEALER THAT THIS COMMON. THE VEHICLE HAD 98,000 MILES WHEN THE PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED. HAS HAPPENED AGAIN AND IT'S ONLY BEEN DRIVEN 2,000 MILES SINCE MORE OIL WAS ADDED.
5 TIMES IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS THE "GLOW PLUG" INDICATOR LIGHT HAS COME ON AND THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER. TWICE THE CAR COMPLETELY BROKE DOWN, TWICE AUDI COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ERROR CODE, THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED I HAD JUST PICKED UP THE CAR FROM AUDI AFTER IT WAS REPAIRED. THE GLOW PLUG LIGHT CAME ON AND IT WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" WHERE I EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER AS I WAS GETTING ON THE FREEWAY, ALMOST GOT HIT AS I COULDN'T ACCELERATE PAST 35 MPH.
WATER PUMP LEAKS BECAUSE OF PCV VALVE FAILURE
AFTER JUST MERGING TO I695 W FROM TRAVELING SOUTH ON I95 VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AFTER GOING FULL THROTTLE AND WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE BRAKE OVERRIDE. IT APPEARED THAT THE THROTTLE PEDAL WAS SOMEHOW STUCK AND WOULD NOT COME BACK UP ON ITS OWN. THE PEDAL APPEARED TO HAVE GONE PAST ITS 'NORMAL' MOTION RANGE AND HAD SUNK QUITE LOW INTO THE FLOOR. THIS FORCED ME TO HAVE TO STAND WITH FULL FORCE ON THE BRAKE AND UNTO THE SHOULDER WITH A FULL EMERGENCY STOP REQUIRED. WHICH IN TURN CAUSED TO BRAKES TO SMOKE FOR A FEW MINUTES. I HAVE CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS NOT THE FLOOR MATS OR ANY OBJECT IMPEDING THE TRAVEL OF THE PEDAL THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE ISSUE. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF I WAS ABLE TO FORCE-ABLY RETURN THE THROTTLE BACK TO ITS 'NORMAL' POSITION. I HAVE NOT SINCE GONE WOT SINCE THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED.
STARTED EXPERIENCING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR. DISCOVERED ABOUT 6 INCHES OF STANDING WATER IN MY SPARE TIRE COMPARTMENT, ALSO WHERE MOST ELECTRICAL IS HOUSED. WATER FROM RAIN STORMS HAD SOMEHOW LEAKED INTO THIS COMPARTMENT. WAS TOLD IT WAS FROM SUNROOF DRAIN TUBES NOT WORKING PROPERLY.
GAS PIPE ABOVE THE ENGINE POPPED WHEN TRYING TO START THE CAR AND ALL THE GAS LEAKED OUT. MIGHT HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE IF THE ENGINE WAS HOT.
THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE INTERNAL FRACTURES IN THE HEADLIGHT LENSES. NOTE THIS IS NOT ON THE SURFACE OF THE LENS. THE FRACTURES REDUCE LIGHT OUTPUT, SPLINTERS THE LIGHT, AND IS DISRUPTIVE TO THE VISION OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
WE USE AN AUDI Q7 DIESEL TO HAUL AT UNDER, BUT NEAR, THE TOWING CAPACITY. EVEN A MODEST DECREASE IN TORQUE COULD LEAVE ME UNDERPOWERED AND UNSAFE WHEN MY CAR UNDERGOES THE EMISSIONS "FIX". WE NEED SOME PERFORMANCE MEASURES FROM AN INDEPENDENT AGENT (AUDI DOES NOT ALWAYS TELL THE TRUTH) TO ASSURE ME THE EMISSIONS IS FIX WILL NOT COMPROMISE THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. CAN YOU HELP?

2015 AUDI Q7 TDI PREMIUM PLUS - DRIVER SIDE SUSPENSION MAKES A DULL RATTLING NOISE DURING DRIVING. EITHER BAD TIE-ROD BUSHINGS OR A BAD STRUT WHICH RATTLES UP AND DOWN CREATING THE NOISE. CONCERNING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT 60 MPH BEHIND A SEMI TRUCK AND BETWEEN TWO CEMENT BARRIERS. I HAVE IT ON VIDEO, IT IS ONE OF MY PROBLEMS I HAD WITH MY CAR TO SAY THE LEAST. IT HAPPENED ONCE MORE WHILE I WAS NOT MOVING, HAD IT IN THE AUDI DEALER FOR THE SECOND TIME. AFTER I BROUGHT IT HOME, IT WOULDN'T SHUT DOWN. I ALSO HAVE THAT ON VIDEO. THE VIDEOS ARE TOO LARGE TO UPLOAD, BUT EVERYONE THAT DRIVES AN AUDI SHOULD SEE THESE. I AM GLAD I AM ALIVE TO TELL MY STORY.
BOTH FRONT HEADLIGHTS HAVE EXTENSIVE CRACKS ON THEM. THIS IS A BRAND-NEW 2015 AUDI Q7 TDI PREMIUM PLUS (HELD AT DEALERSHIP FROM SALE BY EPA ORDER DUE TO EMISSION ISSUES). THE HEADLIGHTS SCATTER LIGHT, AND THE MICRO CRACKS ARE IN HE HUNDREDS ALL OVER BOTH FRONT HEADLIGHT LENSES. AWAITING ACTION BY AUDI DEALER.
2 YEARS AGO, WHEN MY BABY WAS 2, MY CAR LOCKED ITSELF BEFORE I WENT TO THE FRONT TO START DRIVING (THE CAR WAS PARKED). AUDIS HAVE A FEATURE THAT KNOWS WHEN THE KEY IS INSIDE AND DOES NOT TO LOCK ITSELF. THIS FEATURE WORKS 99% OF THE TIME, BUT FOR ME, OUT OF THE 3 TIMES THAT IT FAILED IN THE 2 YEARS I'VE HAD IT, 2 TIMES THE CAR LOCKED MY BABIES INSIDE THE HOT CAR AUTOMATICALLY. THE SECOND TIME HAPPENED A FEW DAYS AGO WITH MY 1 1/2 YEAR OLD, LIKE LAST TIME, AT NOON WHEN THE CAR WAS OFF AND 100 DEGREES OUTSIDE. TWICE 911 HAD TO BE CALLED TO GET THEM OUT.THE FIRST TIME THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY SAID EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. I FIGURED IT WAS A GLITCH. THIS TIME THEY WANT TO OFFER ME ANOTHER CAR, BUT I HAVE TO PAY MORE MONEY AND START ANOTHER 3 YEAR LEASE. THE LOCAL DEALER TOLD ME TO CALL AUDI NORTH AMERICA AND THEY HAD THE AUDACITY TO TELL ME THAT IF I LEAVE THE KEY IN THE CAR THAT IT'S ALWAYS GOING TO LOCK ITSELF!! WHEN THAT IS A FEATURE THAT THEY SELL AND THAT 99% OF THE TIME WORKS. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR WHO GOT MORE TECHNICAL WITH ME AND SAID THAT IF THE KEY IS LEFT INSIDE THE CAR THAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO ONLY BE "LEFT IN THE DRIVER SEAT OR THE BACK OF THE SEAT" FOR THE CAR TO RECOGNIZE IT AS BEING INSIDE. THEIR MANUAL DOES NOT STATE THAT AND IT WAS CLEAR TO ME THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO COVER THEMSELVES. EVEN THE LOCAL MANAGER SAID THAT THAT WAS "NEWS TO HIM AND THAT HE GENERALLY LEAVES HIS KEY INSIDE WHEN SWITCHING DOORS WITHOUT PROBLEMS." OTHERS HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE HAD THAT PROBLEM BUT IT'S ODD. THEY'VE ALSO HAVE TRIED TO BLAME MY CHILDREN WHEN MY KIDS WERE BOTH STRAPPED IN THEIR CAR SEATS AND ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT REACH THE LOCK BUTTON. IT ALSO HAPPENED IMMEDIATELY AFTER CLOSING THE DOOR. ALSO, THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS IN MY HOUSE WITHOUT KIDS INSIDE AND WHERE I HAD MY SPARE KEY HANDY TO OPEN IT. I FEEL THAT THIS COULD LEAD TO A FATALITY.
AS MY FAMILY WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, THE WHEEL SHORE OFF OF THE VEHICLE AND MY CAR CAME DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY IN NJ. I-80 WEST BOUND BETWEEN EXITS 63-64. NO OTHER VEHICLES OR HAZARDS WERE IN THE AREA OR DAMAGED. ONLY MY WHEEL CAME OFF THE CAR COMPLETELY. THIS RENDERED MY WHOLE FAMILY INTO SHOCK. NO POT HOLE OR ROADWAY HAZARD. JUST AN ACT OF NATURE AND POOR ENGINEEERING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 AUDI Q7. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V298000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE FLOW AUDI OF CHARLOTTESVILLE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND REFUSED TO DO THE REPAIR DUE TO THEM STATING AUDI THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT INFORMED THEM HOW THEY WOULD BE COMPENSATED FOR THE WORK COMPLETED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE DEALER'S REFUSAL AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT, BY LAW, THEY HAD TO SEND OUT THE LETTERS, BUT COULD NOT FORCE THE DEALER TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
SUNROOF SHATTERED / EXPLODED
IF THE VEHICLE IS IN NEUTRAL GEAR, IT CANNOT BE PLACED INTO DRIVE GEAR, UNLESS YOU DEPRESS THE BRAKE. WHEN YOU PLACE THIS VEHICLE IN A CAR WASH THAT PUSHES THE VEHICLE IN THE NEUTRAL GEAR, WE ARE UNABLE TO SHIFT GEAR TO DRIVE UNLESS YOU DEPRESS THE BRAKE. APPLYING THE BRAKES IN A MOVING CAR WASH LINE IS DANGEROUS. IF YOU DO NOT QUICKLY CHANGE GEARS, THE VEHICLE COULD SLIP THE ROLLERS AND POTENTIALLY CAUSE THE VEHICLE BEHIND IT TO STRIKE THE Q7. *TR
PROBLEM IS THE BRAKES. SIX MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THIS SUV, THE BRAKES STARTED TO SQUEAK A LITTLE WHEN I SLOWED DOWN OR STOPPED. IT WOULD COME AND GO, ABOUT 2 MONTHS AFTER, IT HAPPENED MORE OFTEN, BUT I WAITED SINCE I HAD A MAINTENANCE COMING UP. I TOOK IT IN FOR MAINTENANCE ABOUT 5,000 MILES, MENTIONED IT TO THE SERVICE ATTENDANT AND HE TOLD ME THEY WOULD CHECK. I PICKED UP MY AUDI I WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY BRAKES. AT THAT TIME THE ATTENDANT MENTIONED THAT OTHER Q7ʻS HAD SOMETHING GOING ON WITH THE BRAKES, BUT NOT MY Q7. I DID NOT HEAR IT FOR A COUPLE WEEKS AND THEN IT STARTED UP AGAIN AND OFF AND ON. FINALLY, IT GOT SO BAD I TOOK IT IN ON OCT 24, 2016, THEY CALLED ME TO TELL ME THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING AND I INSISTED THERE WAS A BRAKE PROBLEM AND I WAS AFRAID THAT THE BRAKES WERE MALFUNCTIONING, SO THEY ASKED ME TO COME IN AND TAKE IT FOR A TEST DRIVE WITH THE SERVICE ATTENDANT. WE WENT FOR A DRIVE ABOUT 2 TO 3 MILES AND WHEN I STOPPED IN THE PARKING LOT AT THE END OF THE STREET, LAGOON DRIVE, IT SQUEAKED A LITTLE AND HE HEARD IT, THEN WE DROVE BACK AND WHEN I SLOWED DOWN TO MAKE THE RIGHT TURN INTO THEIR STREET TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, ATTENDANT HEARD THE SQUEAK AGAIN, SO HE SAID TO LEAVE IT ANOTHER DAY AND THEY WOULD CHECK IT OUT. STILL COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING, BUT THEY CLEANED THE BRAKES AND WHATEVER AND SAID I PROBABLY RIDE THE BRAKES, THAT WAS THAT. PICKED IT UP ON OCT 26, 2016, IT SEEMED OK FOR A DAY AND THEN IT STARTED UP AGAIN WORSE THAN EVER! SO TOOK IT IN TO SERVICE ON NOV 23, 2016, CHECKED IT ON NOV 28, 2016, FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES, CONCLUSION, I RIDE THE BRAKES! SPOKE TO THE GM JEFF LEE AND WILL NOT REPAIR UNLESS WE PAY FOR IT! I HAVE OWNED AT LEAST 20 NEW AUTOS, THIS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE! FRUSTRATED AND FEEL CHEATED!!! SPENT ALMOST $90,000 WITH ALL THE EXTRAS!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 AUDI Q7. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 9,400.
AUDI FACTORY CAR JACK FAILURE. MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY. I WAS USING THE FACTORY PROVIDES CAR JACK TO LEFT THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL IN ORDER TO REPLACE A FLAT. I USED THE JACK AS INSTRUCTED. HOWEVER, AS A PRECAUTION, I PLACED AN A JACKSTAND UNDER THE CAR AS AN ADDITION. WITH LESS THAN A SECOND AFTER REMOVING MY HAND, THE FACTORY JACK SNAPPED AND BROKE. FORTUNATELY I PLACED THE JACKSTAND UNDERNEATH MY CAR. I NEARLY AVOIDED SERIOUS INJURY. HAD I MOVED ANY SLOWER, MY HAND AND BODY WOULD HAVE BEEN CRUSHED BECAUSE OF THE FACTORU CAR JACK'S FAILURE. I LOOKED AT THE JACK AND A KEY COMPONENT SUFFERED A CATASTRAPHIC FAILURE, SNAPPING IN TWO. AUDI SHOULD NOT PROVIDE A JACK THAT CANNOT SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF A SUV. I COULDVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED.
AFTER BUYING MY NEW 2015 AUDI Q7 ON 9/27/14, I STARTED EXPERIENCING HESITATIONS WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC FROM DEAD STOPS. THE VERY FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS IN THE MEDIAN OF A 4-LANE HIGHWAY WAITING TO TURN LEFT INTO TRAFFIC. I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR IT STARTED INTO THE LANE OF TRAFFIC THEN STOPPED. I SAT THERE FOR ABOUT 2-3 SECONDS BEFORE IT TOOK OFF. I EXPECTED TO GET HIT. IT WASN'T THE GAS NOR ME. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 38 YEARS AND DRIVEN OVER 20 VEHICLES AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE. IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN RANDOMLY AND ALWAYS UNEXPECTEDLY SOMETIMES 1 TIME A WEEK SOMETIMES 3 TIMES A WEEK. THE HESITATION IS AS MUCH AS 3-4 SECONDS. ON 4/18/15 I BROUGHT IT IN TO AUDI OF NEW ORLEANS. THEY CALLED STATING THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND TO COME PICK IT UP. I PICKED IT UP RIGHT AT CLOSING. UPON LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP, I STOPPED TO WAIT FOR TRAFFIC, PROCEEDED TO MAKE MY RIGHT TURN, AND IT HAPPENED. ON 5/25/15 I BROUGHT IT TO AUDI OF BATON ROUGE, WHICH IS WHERE I BOUGHT IT. THEY CALLED ME ON 5/29/15 AND TOLD ME: THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE WHAT I WAS EXPERIENCING; THAT THE TECHNICIAN KNEW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT, BUT THAT IS JUST THE WAY THE Q7S ARE; AND THAT THE TECHNICIAN WANTED TO RIDE AROUND WITH ME WHEN I COME TO PICK IT UP. THAT AFTERNOON AND I DROVE AROUND WITH THE TECHNICIAN FIRST IN ANOTHER Q7 THEN IN MY Q7. I COULD NOT REPRODUCE IT WITH EITHER CAR. HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN DID TELL ME THAT HE KNEW WHAT I WAS EXPERIENCING AND THAT THAT IS JUST HOW THE Q7S ARE AND THAT THE REASON IS BECAUSE WHEN I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR THE COMPUTER TAKES CONTROL AND DECIDES IF IT WILL GIVE ME THE POWER I NEED TO PROCEED. I BELIEVE THAT NO CAR SHOULD HESITATE AND PUT PEOPLE IN JEOPARDY BY NOT GIVING THE ENGINE THE GAS IT NEEDS TO PERFORM AS IT SHOULD. I ALSO FEEL THAT AUDI SHOULD MAKE ALL DRIVERS AND FUTURE DRIVERS OF Q7S AWARE OF ITS BEHAVIOR. ...UPDATED 10/01/15*BF UPDATED 12/05/2017*CN
WIFE WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AND SHE DEPRESSED THE BREAK PEDAL. THE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT STOPPING THE VEHICLE. THE CAR (AUDI Q7, 2015), CONTINUED TO MOVE FORWARD UNTIL SHE HIT THE CAR PARKED IN FRONT OF HER. SHE QUICKLY LET OFF THE BREAK PEDAL AND RE-APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE CAR STOPPED; ALTHOUGH, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN ATTRIBUTED TO THE IMPACT. LUCKILY THIS HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT; HOWEVER, NOW SHE IS CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN ON THE ROAD AT HIGHER SPEEDS. SHE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY TOLD US THAT THEY CALLED CORPORATE AUDI ABOUT THE SITUATION AND THAT THEY SENT EXPERTS IN TO EVALUATE THE CAR, WHO FOUND NOTHING WRONG (I GUESS THE EXPERTS WERE ABLE TO COME IN AND EVALUATE THE CAR WITHIN 12 HOURS, AS WE DROPPED THE CAR OFF AFTER 5PM AND THEY TOLD US THE NEXT DAY THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM). THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO SINCE THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THIS DOES NOT CHANGE THE FACT THAT IT HAPPENED.
