Critical Deferred Risk
Critical deferred failure risk — 4 safety-critical or high-cost components are past their service interval. Without immediate attention, repair costs will compound significantly.
No odometer data on record. Mileage is estimated at ~132,000 mi based on average annual driving. Items marked EST. OVERDUE may already be due — verify service history with the seller. Items marked OVERDUE are confirmed past-due based on vehicle age alone.
EST. OVERDUECriticalTiming Chain Tensioner
Service interval: 10 yr · Vehicle age: 11 yr · Past due by age
Service Timing Chain Tensioner immediately — already past the 120,000 mi / 10 yr interval
Worn chain tensioners cause timing chain skip or snap — common on GM 5.3L/6.2L, Ford EcoBoost, VW/Audi EA888, BMW N47/N63. Listen for cold-start rattles.
EST. OVERDUECriticalWater Pump
Service interval: 8 yr · Vehicle age: 11 yr · Past due by age
Service Water Pump immediately — already past the 100,000 mi / 8 yr interval
Water pump failure causes rapid overheating. If the engine overheats even once, head gasket damage is likely — turning a $400 part into a $3,000+ repair.
EST. OVERDUEHighTransmission Fluid / Service
Service interval: 5 yr · Vehicle age: 11 yr · Past due by age
Service Transmission Fluid / Service immediately — already past the 60,000 mi / 5 yr interval
Degraded transmission fluid destroys clutch packs and solenoids. CVT transmissions are especially sensitive — neglected fluid can result in a $4,000–$8,000 replacement.
EST. OVERDUEHighCoolant Flush
Service interval: 5 yr · Vehicle age: 11 yr · Past due by age
Service Coolant Flush immediately — already past the 100,000 mi / 5 yr interval
Degraded coolant loses corrosion inhibitors and attacks aluminum engine components. Can cause head gasket failure and water pump corrosion.
EST. OVERDUEModerateSpark Plugs (iridium/platinum)
Service interval: 8 yr · Vehicle age: 11 yr · Past due by age
Service Spark Plugs (iridium/platinum) immediately — already past the 100,000 mi / 8 yr interval
Worn spark plugs cause misfires that can foul and crack catalytic converters. A $150 tune-up can prevent a $1,200 catalytic converter replacement.
EST. OVERDUEModerateFuel Injectors
Service interval: 10 yr · Vehicle age: 11 yr · Past due by age
Service Fuel Injectors immediately — already past the 120,000 mi / 10 yr interval
Dirty or failing injectors cause rough idle, reduced fuel economy, and increased emissions. Cleaning costs $100–$200; replacement $800–$1,600.
CASCADECriticalFailure Cascade
Cascade already triggered — downstream damage likely in progress
Have a specialist inspect all systems connected to the failed component before purchase
One failed component has created stress on connected systems. Repair costs compound quickly — a $500 fix can become $3,000+ if cascade damage is ignored.

ODI #11716171UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER,BACK OVER PREVENTION

I am submitting this complaint to report an unresolved safety recall and the inability to obtain a timely inspection or repair, which I believe places me and my family at increased risk of a crash. My vehicle is a 2015 Ford Transit Connect. The vehicle is subject to Ford Safety Recall 25S89 and NHTSA Recall 25V572, concerning a failure of the rearview camera system. The rearview camera on my vehicle frequently displays a message stating “Rear View Camera Unavailable, Contact Ford Dealership” and then goes to a black screen. This results in a complete loss of rear visibility while backing up, increasing the risk of a collision, especially involving pedestrians or other vehicles. I received the safety recall notice in September 2025. Since then, I have made numerous attempts to have the vehicle inspected and repaired. Despite repeated contact with my local dealership, has informed me that they cannot perform the inspection or recall repair because they do not have an SSCC repair procedure available and therefore cannot proceed. I have also contacted Ford Motor Company customer service by phone multiple times, but these calls have not resulted in a resolution or a clear path to getting the vehicle repaired. As a result, I am left operating a vehicle with a known safety defect and no access to the recall remedy. I am deeply concerned for my safety and the safety of my family. Operating this vehicle without a reliable rearview camera significantly increases the chance of a crash, and I believe the continued delay in providing a remedy defeats the purpose of a safety recall. I respectfully request that NHTSA document this complaint and take any appropriate action to ensure that Ford Motor Company provides a timely inspection and repair for this safety defect.

ODI #11509886SERVICE BRAKES

2015 Ford transit connect 150: while driving on the freeway 60-65 mph, the brakes seem to lock up without depressing the pedal, slowing to 40 mph and shaking uncontrollably. putting on the brake to exit the flow of traffic, braking caused the vehicle to shake even more finally by pumping the accelerator, the speed increased again. finally getting off of the freeway the brake pedal went to the floor. i had to pump the brake pedal until it finally reacted. less than a week later, getting on the freeway almost the exact thing happened. luckily i was a bit more prepared when i felt the shaking. today, driving the van back to our warehouse approx 15 miles on regular streets (not freeway driving) the brakes again went to the floor. master cylinder not leaking, brakes seem to be in good shape...but something is wrong we brought the vehicle to Sawgrass Ford in Sunrise Florida. they had it for over a month. they were unable to determine the problem and only made suggestions to completely change out all the brake components for $5-$6,000.00 but also said that they could not guarantee that this would fix the problem. the brakes were serviced approximately 6-7 months prior to these incidents I called Corporate Ford office. was told that the 2016 ford transit connect had Brake Hydrolic Control Unit recalls, but the 2015 doesn't have the recall listed. I also looking on manywebsites to verify any other2015/2016 problems with the brakes "locking up" or vehicle going into safe mode (another possibility) there were numerous complaints and concerns regarding 2016 & even 2017 situations very similar to what i went through. ford told me that model DV6Z2C405D BRAKE HYDROLIC CONTROL UNIT did not have an official recall. but that Ford stopped using that model and started using model EK4Z2C405A which was recalled and then replaced the recall with FK4Z2C405C. Seems like there may have been a problem with the 2015 model which caused the to change and with the 2016 model as well

It can cause visibility problems while driving because the water run on the the driver's side of the glass too.

The fuse associated with the rearview camera of this vehicle has consistently blown over the last few years leaving the backup camera inoperable with no image on the dashboard display. The lack of a functioning backup camera results in the loss of a view directly behind the vehicle which could result in an accident. A warning stating that "rear view camera is unavailable" and a dark display occur when the fuse is blown. The rearview camera fuse blows often typically only after a few vehicle trips. After diagnosing the blown fuse issue, chafing of a wiring harness was found behind a grommet where wires pass between the vehicle body and the rear liftgate. The damaged wiring harness is in the vehicle and available for inspection. This issue has also been documented by others as was discovered by searching for information on the internet.

The steering rack is not moving freely. Struts, tie rods and U joint are moving freezing but the steering rack is not. This is a huge safety concern because if the steering rack were to lock up and then allow me, the driver, to turn the wheel, that would absolutely cause me to crash. My local automotive service has diagnosed the problem

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AT ABOUT 81,000 MILES, AND A WEIRD NOISE STARTED HAPPENING COMING FROM THE ENGINE AREA. I GOT INTO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT (DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR) AT ABOUT 81,500 MILES. THEY DIAGNOSED A BAD CATALYTIC CONVERTER - IT WAS BREAKING UP. SEVERAL ISSUES AROSE FROM THAT: FIRST, I HAVE BEEN SMELLING CARBON MONOXIDE IN THE CAB FOR QUITE A WHILE AND DID NOT KNOW WHY (NOW I THINK I KNOW - CLOGGED CATALYTIC, REVERSION THROUGH THE ENGINE BAY). SECOND THE CATALYTIC WARRANTY EXPIRES AT 80,000 MILES. (THE LIGHT WENT ON AT 81,000). THIRD, AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE, THE DEALER FINANCE GUY FORCED ME TO BUY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. HE SAID THAT FORD WOULD NOT FINANCE ME IF I DID NOT BUY IT SO I AGREED. IT WAS OVER $2000 TAKEN OUT OF MY DOWN PAYMENT. I FULLY EXPECTED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY TO COVER THE BROKEN CAT - WRONG - CATS ARE NOT COVERED. THE REPAIR WAS QUOTED AT ABOUT $1000. MY BEEF HERE IS SEVERAL FOLD: THE 1) FORD WARRANTY EXPIRES AT 80,000 AND THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AT 81,000 EVEN THOUGH THE CONVERTER HAD BEEN GOING BAD THE WHOLE TIME. 2) I HAVE BEEN BREATHING CO2 IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. 3) THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS USELESS AND I PAID A HEFTY SUM FOR IT. THE REPAIR IS QUITE EXPENSIVE AND THE PROBLEM IS NOT COVERED BY ANY OF THE WARRANTIES I HAVE, WHICH I THINK IS UNFAIR. I HAVE NOT BROUGHT THIS COMPLAINT TO THE DEALER TO ALLOW THEM A REBUTTAL - I SIMPLY LEFT IN SHOCK THAT I AM ON THE HOOK, AND NOW I'M BREATHING THE STINK OF A DECOMPOSING CAT IF I DON'T USE RECIRCULATE (AND A SLIGHT AMOUNT EVEN IF I DO USE RECIRCULATE, WHICH IS ANOTHER COMPLAINT - RECIRCULATE STILL LETS IN OUTSIDE AIR. IN TRAFFIC, YOU ARE ALWAYS BREATHING EXHAUST).

This can cause engine stalling, misfires, and severe damage. Ford extended coverage under Customer Satisfaction Program 15B22 and related programs.

HOW TO CLAIM: Contact Ford Customer Service or visit a dealer with your VIN. Ask specifically about CSP 15B22 and coolant intrusion extended coverage. Coolant loss without visible leak is the primary symptom.

Coverage eligibility depends on your VIN, original sale date, and current mileage. Always verify with an authorized dealer or manufacturer customer service — programs may have been updated since this database was compiled.
