I own a 2025 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. The front seat pivot link bolt (the bolt that secures the seat cushion to the seat track and serves as the pivot for the height-adjustment mechanism) has loosened. As a result, the driver’s seat shifts and rocks forward/backward and up/down while driving. This is a safety concern because it can alter seating position, reduce the effectiveness of the seat belt and airbag system, and increase the risk of the seat moving unexpectedly in a crash. I took the vehicle to a Hyundai dealership. Their repair consisted of applying threadlocker and re-torquing the bolt. They presented this as the permanent fix. I have fifteen years of professional experience in seat design and manufacturing. In my professional judgment, a threadlocker re-torque does not necessarily fix this problem, because the root cause of the loosening has not been identified or corrected. Simply re-securing the bolt without determining why it is backing out leaves the same failure mode in place. Other Palisade owners have reported the identical failure on XXX ([XXX]) and in the XXX Palisade Owners group. In those cases the bolt loosened, dealers applied threadlocker or re-torqued it, and the bolt loosened again. Some owners found non-Hyundai bolts installed, stripped threads that required full seat-rail replacement, or the bolt missing entirely under the seat. Dealers have quoted several thousand dollars for complete seat-mechanism replacement while stating there is no recall or technical service bulletin addressing the issue. I am requesting that NHTSA review this as a potential safety defect in the Palisade front-seat mounting / pivot-link system. A repair method that consists only of reapplying threadlocker does not appear to provide a lasting correction, and the pattern of repeated loosening after dealer service indicates the underlying cause remains unaddressed. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair.

ODI #11772528FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

The contact owns a 2025 Honda Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the Forward Collision Avoidance system intermittently activated; however, there were no individual or objects in front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer several times to be diagnosed; however, the dealer stated that the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The failure mileage was approximately 900.

ODI #11771191STRUCTURE

The underbody factory gravel shield structurally failed and sheared along its molded stress lines under normal driving conditions. The part is fully available for physical inspection. This failure occurred silently without any prior warning lamps, messages, or symptoms, and was discovered by a technician during a routine maintenance oil change at 11,645 miles on August 5, 2026. The structural failure was visually confirmed by Wyatt Johnson Hyundai, but they refused to honor the warranty, and a subsequent corporate review by the manufacturer resulted in a final denial on October 7, 2026. Due to this two-month administrative delay, the unsecured component has progressively degraded and is now sagging dangerously low and dragging directly on the asphalt. This puts my safety and the safety of trailing traffic at extreme risk, as it acts as an aerodynamic scoop with an imminent threat of completely detaching at highway speeds, creating a severe road debris hazard. Furthermore, it leaves the engine bay and steering components completely unprotected from road debris.

On XXX, I was loading items in the rear cargo area of an Avis rental vehicle, a 2025 Hyundai Palisade when the power liftgate was fully open above me, without warning and without me commanding it to close, the liftgate unexpectedly came down/fell. It struck me in the head and I lost consciousness, I don’t know how long I was unconscious. When I regained consciousness, I was in the rear cargo area of the vehicle with the liftgate on my back. I sought emergency medical treatment the same day at Chippenham Hospital in [XXX]. My records show evaluation for neck pain and headache. CT imaging of my head/brain and cervical spine , and discharge info for concussion and a pinched nerve in the neck. I subsequently received orthopedic and spine treatment and physical therapy for continuing neck, back, shoulder and knee complaints. My concern is, a fully open powered liftgate should not unexpectedly descend onto a person beneath it. I am asking NHTSA to record and evaluate this incident as a power liftgate safety defect. The vehicle was a rental from Avis on [XXX] and does not list the VIN number on my contract. I am requesting the VIN number and maintenance repair history from Avis to supplement this complaint. ODI #11767328UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

On August 10, 2026, at approximately 12,302 miles, I took the vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealer after it stalled multiple times, including once while accelerating. I also reported sluggishness/loss of power. The dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. The vehicle subsequently stalled two additional times. In September 2026, while driving at highway speed with cruise control engaged, the vehicle suddenly and aggressively decelerated/braked as though it detected an obstacle ahead, although no vehicle or obstacle was present. A similar event occurred the following day. Unexpected braking, loss of power, or stalling at highway speed creates a serious collision risk. I have also experienced a forward-collision warning when no vehicle was in front of me and intermittent jerking/hesitation. I returned the vehicle to the Hyundai dealer on September 22, 2026, at approximately 14,548 miles. The dealer performed diagnostic scans and approximately 42 miles of road testing. No relevant DTCs were found, the problems could not be reproduced, and no repair was performed. The dealer documented the result as No Trouble Found. There were no consistent warning lamps or messages before the stalling or unexpected deceleration. The cause remains unresolved despite multiple dealer visits.

ODI #11767342FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Driving less than 30 mph, the Forward Collision System enaged (there was nothing near the vehicle) and the vehicle suddenly jerked and braked pulling the car as if it was not in its lane.

ODI #11765434POWER TRAIN,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

While driving normally with the vehicle already in Drive, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion and displayed a message instructing me to shift to Park or Neutral. I attempted to select both Park and Neutral, but the vehicle would not respond to the shift controls. I ultimately turned the vehicle off and restarted it, after which it operated normally. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Hyundai dealer. No stored fault codes were found, and the dealer has been unable to reproduce the event during road testing and GDS flight recording. The underlying cause remains unidentified. I am concerned that recurrence in moving traffic or while crossing an intersection could create a crash risk.

ODI #11765104POWER TRAIN,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

After slowing to make a right or left turn, pressing on the accelarrator causes no response for ten to fifteen seconds. This proble seems to be in numerous Palisades for 2023 to 2026. Numerous message boards have reports of this issue with the dealer not being able to repair the problem. I myself almost gor into an accident due to this issue.

ODI #11764504STEERING

On 9/15/26 I had activated my left turn signal and was entering the left hand turn lane. About halfway into the lane, the vehicle dashboard displayed “Emergency steering activated” and began forcing my steering wheel the opposite direction for no reason. There was no traffic and I was not crossing into somewhere I shouldn’t. This was extremely dangerous. I haven’t notified Hyundai. Weather was sunny and clear.

Following a dealer transfer assembly replacement under warranty on a 2025 Hyundai Palisade, technicians failed to perform a post-repair alignment and left the driveshaft unseated. The 2nd dealership we went to subsequently misdiagnosed the resulting suspension warping as 'tire overinflation' on June 5. As a direct result, my family unknowingly drove thousands of highway miles across state lines to MT and SD with an unseated drivetrain and a completely loose structural subframe bolt, presenting a severe risk of catastrophic suspension/steering failure at highway speeds. They misdiagnosed 3 times and claimed to do test drives each time, but each time we got in the vehicle, we heard the noises, they said they could not hear. I am the owner of a 2025 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy FWD, VIN [XXX], which currently has two unrepaired safety recalls. The most concerning unresolved recall is NHTSA Recall 25V607 / Hyundai Recall 283, involving front-row and second-row outer seat-belt buckle assemblies that may contain out-of-specification components. According to the recall notice, the buckle may fail to fully latch under certain conditions, creating an increased risk of injury to occupants in a crash. I have been attempting to have this safety recall remedied, but Hyundai has been unable to provide the necessary replacement part. The dealership has advised me that the seat-belt buckle part was ordered but remains on backorder. Hyundai Motor America Consumer Affairs has also confirmed that they are still waiting for the part to arrive at the dealership. I have repeatedly contacted both the dealership and Hyundai Motor America regarding this unresolved safety recall. Hyundai assigned my case to National Consumer Affairs under case number XXX. I have been given multiple promised dates for updates and phone calls, but those calls have repeatedly been postponed without the recall being remedied. Hyundai has most recently confirmed to me in writing that it is still "diligently working on getting the seat buckle order into the dealership" and that I will be contacted by the dealer once the part arrives. My vehicle also has an additional unrepaired safety recall, NHTSA Recall 26V034 / Hyundai Recall 292, concerning third-row ejection mitigation requirements. I understand that recalls must be repaired at no cost to the owner, and I am not asking NHTSA to resolve a customer-service or financial dispute. My primary concern is that I have an unresolved safety recall involving the vehicle's seat-belt restraint system and Hyundai has been unable to provide the remedy because the necessary part remains unavailable. I am requesting that NHTSA document this complaint and review the circu INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

ODI #11756634VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

This 2025 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy is a “Top of the Line” model loaded with automatic gadgetry that is NOT ready for Prime Time or any roadway. It is unsafe for the following reasons: Problems appear to be software up-date related; the software updates way too often via overnight web connection. These updates not only change existing status of mundane systems (hatch or doors unlocking opening, etc.); these updates appear to insert bugs into the operating system which then affects the safety of automated vehicle systems which then create unsafe driving conditions on roads. The biggest safety concern is with Hyundai’s “Smart Cruise Control” system. When a driver chooses a set speed they want to follow, here is what happens often: The Hyundai Smart Cruise Control is turned on and a driver “attempts” to index to the desired speed. Once this speed is actually attained all is good. IF the posted road speed limit increases from 25 MPH to 40 MPH the driver has 2 choices, hold the speed increase button in for 3 seconds for a 5 MPH bump up OR press the button quickly for 1 MPH bump ups. Instead, here is what happens OFTEN, a 3 second hold jumps the speed to 65 MPH desired speed! Or, a quick bump jumps to 50 MPH desired speed! It is random and sporadic to what actually happens, so a driver must pay attention and cancel cruise control quickly, then get things back to normal and begin over. All this occurs while moving on a roadway at speed, hence UNSAFE biggly! Also, what happens, these vehicles front view camera read the posted speed limit (on a street-side sign) and “automatically” sets the posted speed into the Hyundai “Smart Cruise Control”. It has upped this SUV’s speed to 95 MPH and 75 MPH automatically! The driver needs to be attentive to what the automated “Smart Cruise Control” systems are actually doing; all while driving on busy roadways! This is VERY UNSAFE! I believe web software updates are creating these problems - STOP updates immediately.

The vehicle slid and jumped, and the brakes made a grinding sound. No warning light was illuminated. The failure caused the vehicle to rear-end another vehicle in front. The air bags deployed. The contact experienced neck pain, and her husband suffered a burn mark from the air bag deployment. The contact's eleven-year-old son suffered neck pain and a seat belt burn, while her other child had no injuries seated in a car seat. Medical attention was received. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard and declared a total loss by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact stated that prior to the crash, the vehicle had been taken to the dealer for the brake failure, and the dealer performed a brake inspection and passed the vehicle. What happened: A franchised Hyundai dealership installed aftermarket window tint on a new 2025 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Night Edition prior to sale without disclosing it as a dealer add-on. When the vehicle was brought in for an active manufacturer safety recall concerning the rear quarter-window glass, the dealership informed us that the official factory recall remedy (applying a protective safety film) cannot adhere to window tint. Because the dealer-installed tint prevents the recall protective film from adhering, the dealership was unable to perform the safety recall unless the window tint was permanently removed or omitted. Component involved: Rear quarter-window glass and safety recall protective film. The vehicle and windows are available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: The official Hyundai safety recall addresses an issue where the rear quarter-window glass poses a potential safety risk. Because the dealer-installed modification physically prevents the application of the recall safety film, the vehicle remains without the manufacturer's required safety recall remedy. Furthermore, dealership service personnel initially advised us to simply waive or decline the safety-related recall rather than resolving the modification conflict, leaving a potential safety hazard unaddressed. Dealer Confirmation & Inspection: The issue was confirmed by the authorized Hyundai dealership's service department and Service Director in writing. They verified that the recall film and the pre-installed tint are physically incompatible and that the recall remedy was omitted as a result.

Upon returning home on 7/20/2025, I smelled a strong odor of gasoline. I looked under the car and saw that gas was leaking from a small hole on the (R) rear side of the tank. The hole was an approximately 1/16" . Due to danger of flammable fuel vapor and leaking gas I parked away from the house and put a temporary plug to stop the leak. I was shocked to find that the fuel tank was unshielded and made of thin walled plastic. There no warning indicators given prior to this incident. The vehicle has 12383 miles on it. Cause of the leak is unknown, possibly a poor mold casting of the tank.

ODI #11751810SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE

My 2025 Hyundai Palisade intermittently experiences an abnormally high engine idle of approximately 1,500 RPM during the first few minutes of driving. The condition occurs randomly and is not present on every trip. While stopped at stop signs or intersections with my foot firmly on the brake pedal, I can feel the engine pushing against the brakes because of the elevated idle speed. When I release the brake pedal, the vehicle accelerates forward significantly faster than it normally would at idle. The engine speed eventually returns to a normal idle after several minutes of driving, but during the event the vehicle behaves unpredictably. This has occurred on both flat roads and hills. I have documented the condition on video showing the tachometer at approximately 1,500 RPM while the vehicle is stopped and my foot is on the brake. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Hyundai dealership and remained there for approximately one week. The dealership was unable to reproduce the condition during testing and returned the vehicle without repairs. No warning lights or messages have appeared. Because the condition is intermittent and results in unexpected forward acceleration when the brake is released, I believe it presents a potential safety risk.

The wheel locks, then violently snaps back. In some instances it will set off the sensors and disengage the vehicle while I’m pulled out into traffic. I have brought this to the dealerships attention as well as corporate Hyundai. I was told they were able to recreate the problem and it is standard operating procedure. I was given a loaner vehicle and it did not perform this way and so I am doubtful but have also heard may others complain of the same issue.

I was finally forced to pull over and stop the vehicle and place it in park. After doing so, the Palisade was able to return to operation with the pedal and for fear of another incident we drove home. 2nd Incident - 2 Mar 2026 - approx 1200pm. We were traveling west on XXX from [XXX] to [XXX] and began the ascent through the mountains going west towards XXX. After experiencing a steady grade upward approximately 6-7% at speed of 55-60mph, I used the hand shift paddle to downshift one gear to assist in the upward climb. Upon doing so, the Palisade once again died with no power at all. I pushed the accelerator pedal to the floor with no success of power. This incident could have been devastating as we were in the far left lane with many other vehicles behind us. I had no place to pull over to the left so I began to make my way to the right shoulder over 3 lanes very slowly under only previous velocity motion. We narrowly avoided being hit from behind numerous times and finally made it over to the right shoulder. After finally stopping the Palisade, I put the vehicle in park and it returned to operation with the pedal once again. We then carefully pulled out off the shoulder and the Palisade operated normally until we arrived at our destination. To Whom It May Concern: I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious and ongoing safety defect involving the second-row driver-side seat belt in my Hyundai Palisade. I purchased this vehicle new on December 11, 2025, after being informed that the applicable seat belt recall repair had already been completed by the dealership on December 4, 2025. Despite the recall repair being performed prior to sale, the second-row driver-side seat belt continues to malfunction. On multiple occasions while the vehicle has been in motion, the seat belt has unexpectedly unlatched on its own while occupied by a passenger. This creates a severe safety hazard and leaves the passenger completely unprotected during travel. The issue has occurred repeatedly and has made the second-row driver-side seat unsafe to use. This defect is especially concerning because the vehicle was sold as repaired and safe following completion of the recall campaign. The continued failure of the seat belt system raises concerns that the recall remedy may be ineffective or incomplete. I am requesting that Hyundai Motor America and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigate this matter immediately. I also request that Hyundai provide a permanent repair solution and determine whether additional Hyundai Palisade vehicles may still be experiencing similar seat belt latch failures even after recall service has been completed. I am reporting a safety-related defect with a 2025 Hyundai Palisade SEL. Within days of purchase (December 14, 2024), I began experiencing abnormal noise and vibration from the rear of the vehicle. The issue consistently occurs at highway speeds (45–55 mph) and over bumps. The problem has been present since the first week of ownership and has worsened over time. Multiple inspections confirmed the issue: •Selling dealership dismissed it as “normal tire noise” without proper diagnosis •Second Hyundai dealership confirmed severe abnormal wear (cupping) on all four tires •Independent inspection (Firestone) confirmed uneven tire wear, alignment out of specification, and ongoing vibration Despite early reporting, Hyundai Motor America has refused to provide a root cause diagnosis or take responsibility. They denied tire replacement, attributing the issue to tire wear. This explanation is not valid. Tires do not develop severe cupping shortly after purchase without an underlying defect such as improper alignment or suspension issues. This condition creates a safety risk: •vibration reduces vehicle stability at highway speeds •uneven wear increases risk of tire failure The issue affects all four tires and was present almost immediately after purchase, indicating a likely manufacturing or setup defect. The problem has been confirmed by multiple service providers but remains unresolved. The vehicle is not safe to operate under normal driving conditions. I request immediate investigation into a potential manufacturing defect affecting vehicle safety. Hyundai has been aware of this issue since the first week of ownership and failed to take corrective action. Despite multiple documented inspections confirming abnormal tire wear and vibration, no root cause diagnosis or repair has been provided. This raises serious concerns about a potential systemic defect affecting vehicle safety.

Vehicle is a 2025 Hyundai Palisade subject to Hyundai Recall 292, concerning improper deployment of the third-row side curtain air bags in a crash, in noncompliance with FMVSS 226 (Ejection Mitigation). Per Hyundai's recall notice, the remedy is still under development and no repair is currently available. The manufacturer has advised owners to continue driving while awaiting the remedy. The safety concern is significant because an infant is regularly transported in the third row of this vehicle. In a side-impact crash, improper side curtain air bag deployment increases the risk of injury or occupant ejection — a risk that falls directly on the person seated in the affected row. With no remedy available, owners have no means to mitigate this risk other than ceasing to use the third row entirely, which is not a reasonable long-term solution for a three-row SUV purchased specifically to accommodate additional family members. Regarding the specific guideline questions: the defect is a manufacturer-identified noncompliance and has not been (and cannot be) reproduced or inspected by a dealer, because no diagnostic or repair procedure exists. There are no warning lamps or pre-failure symptoms, as the defect would only manifest in the event of a crash. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance, as no crash has occurred. I am filing this complaint to formally document the safety risk while a remedy remains unavailable, and to request that NHTSA prioritize expedited development and deployment of the fix.

This complaint is a follow-up update to my previously filed complaint, NHTSA Complaint No. 11726321, filed on March 23, 2026, regarding two open safety recalls on my 2025 Hyundai Palisade SEL Premium, VIN [XXX] . I am filing this updated complaint to report that a SECOND failed repair attempt has now occurred on the seat belt recall (NHTSA Recall No. 25V607 / Hyundai Recall No. 283). UPDATED STATUS OF SEAT BELT RECALL (25V607): First repair attempt: January 19, 2026 at Liberty Hyundai, Mahwah NJ (Invoice No. [XXX). Technician confirmed open recall. No correction made. Parts specially ordered (RC283-S8500-QQH Seat Belt Buckle Kit). Parts were not available. Second repair attempt: April 2026 at my servicing Hyundai dealer. Technician again confirmed open recall. Seat belt buckle parts remain on order and are still not available. No correction made. Two documented failed repair attempts now on record. UPDATED STATUS OF AIRBAG RECALL (26V034): As of the date of this complaint, Hyundai has still not developed a remedy for the third row airbag FMVSS 226 violation. No repair has been attempted or completed because no fix exists. This recall remains completely unresolved. SUMMARY: I purchased this vehicle on [XXX] from Maxon Hyundai, Union NJ. This is my primary and only family vehicle. I have children who regularly use the third row. After two separate dealer visits spanning more than three months, neither safety recall has been repaired. Hyundai has been unable to provide parts for the seat belt recall and has no remedy developed for the airbag recall. I am formally requesting that NHTSA: 1. Note this updated repair history in connection with Complaint No. 11726321 2. Escalate pressure on Hyundai Motor America to expedite parts availability for Recall 25V607 3. Continue monitoring Hyundai's progress on developing a remedy for Recall 26V034 (FMVSS 226 violation) 4. I am less than 8 months into a brand new vehicle that has had and has major safety recalls with no remedy in sight. I bought this car for safety and driving it while seatbelts and ejection mitigation have all failed NHTSA standards is horrifying for me and my family.

The current no. 226 EJECTION MITIGATION RECALL has me scared to drive the vehicle for it's intended use as a Family car transporting 7 people which are all children. The fix from the manufacturer/dealership is taking to long. We are lucky we have not been in an accident. I believed my Family was safe in this vehicle but now know we are not. What a waste of money I have borrowed for this car. Paying on something that is not safe and how I risked my grandbabys possibly being ejected from my vehicle if there was to be an accident.

Hello, I would like to report the rental company that rented us the car with 2 open recalls. The name of the company is NU car rental locating at 2900 SE 6th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316. It rented us a Hyundai Palisade with the plate number [XXX] from April 5 to April 10th, 2026. They knew that we needed a car for 6 people and that the 3rd row was going to be used. And the 2nd recall relates to the use of 3 row seats. Please see the rental agreement as a proof. I know the same company in Orlando was under federal investigation for the same issue. To my knowledge, rental companies are prohibited from renting cars with open recalls by the federal law. Please investigate this company. I am trying to work with Hyundai Motor Company Corporate to find another solution, since there is no remedy available and they do not know when it will be available. I was told to not put anyone in the back seat, but I purchased the vehicle for 3 rows because I need 3 rows for my family. The third-row seats in my 2025 Hyundai Palisade are closing fully even when there are clear obstructions in the seat path. I tested this multiple times — including with case of water — and the seats did not stop, reverse, or provide any safety resistance. They closed completely each time. I am aware this exact issue has already been identified and recalled in the 2026 Palisade, which raises major concerns about whether the same defect exists in the 2025 model. After repeating the test with several different objects and getting the same dangerous result, I am extremely alarmed. This is a critical safety hazard for anyone seated in the third row. There has already been at least one reported death related to this malfunction, and knowing what I know now, I do not feel safe allowing anyone to sit in that row until this is investigated and resolved. This issue requires immediate attention and action. The risk is serious, foreseeable, and potentially fatal. I am requesting that Hyundai address this as a priority before someone else is injured.

ODI #11728376SEATS1 DEATH

The powered operation of the third row in the 2025 Hyundai Palisade fails to stop if anything or anyone is sitting or placed on the third row seat. There has been a report of a [XXX] death with respect to this operation already in Ohio and other injuries across the nation. Hyundai has already placed a stop sell on this vehicle but there are many other vehicles on the road at the moment that can cause additional deaths. There is no requirement to stop driving this vehicle by the NHTSA and it is giving Hyundai 18 months to find and test a remedy. We personally tested the operation with someone in the third row seat and the seat failed to stop closing when the rear compartment button was pressed. As an adult I felt that I would have been crushed if my partner did not reverse the operation. A child in that seat would have been killed. That button can easily be pressed by anything stored in the rear compartment while the vehicle is being driven. We leased our vehicle to carry grandchildren but now cannot use it due to the safety risks. Continuing to drive these vehicle is a serious risk of death and injury and the NHTSA should be protecting the consumers who still have these vehicles on the road. To Whom It May Concern, I am writing regarding multiple recalls affecting my 2025 Hyundai Palisade, specifically related to the electrical harness and ongoing safety concerns. Since purchasing the vehicle from a Hyundai dealership in [XXX] , I have experienced repeated issues. Initially, dashboard lights activated randomly while driving, followed by connectivity problems and a malfunctioning trunk. In February, the vehicle required full disassembly to replace the electrical harness, which disrupted a planned family trip. I was provided a Hyundai Elantra loaner, which was not suitable for my family of five, causing a two-week inconvenience. Additionally, the dealership failed to complete a scheduled oil change, requiring me to return. Shortly after, I received another recall notice involving third-row safety concerns during a rollover. Given that a fatality has already been associated with this issue, I am extremely concerned about the safety of this vehicle, especially as I transport my three young children daily. The vehicle’s multiple recalls, safety risks, and extensive repairs have significantly reduced its value and reliability. I am also currently waiting on an airbag cap, but was informed on March 27, 2026, that the part received was incorrect, causing further delays. This has been my first Hyundai purchase, and it has been a frustrating and disappointing experience. The vehicle no longer feels new and appears to be unreliable due to ongoing defects. As of March 28, 2026, I am requesting the option to trade in the vehicle at the original purchase price or receive appropriate compensation. The vehicle has under 10,000 miles, and I am still making payments on a vehicle that does not meet multiple Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, including #226 Ejection Mitigation. I would like to resolve this matter as soon as possible and transition into a safe, reliable vehicle. My 2025 Hyundai Palisade is currently subject to multiple safety recalls affecting occupant safety. These include a recall involving seat belt buckle assemblies in the front and second row seating positions, as well as a separate recall involving the third-row seating area where the vehicle may not meet federal safety standards for occupant protection and may increase the risk of injury during a rollover crash. At this time, there is no available remedy for the third-row safety recall. Although no crash or injury has occurred, I regularly transport my children in this vehicle and am concerned about operating a vehicle that has been identified as having an increased risk of injury in a rollover crash without any available fix. The vehicle is available for inspection, and I have scheduled a dealership appointment to address the recalls that currently have available remedies. However, the primary safety concern remains unresolved due to the lack of a repair for the third-row issue. This situation raises concerns about occupant safety and the ability to safely transport passengers.

However, I was informed by a Hyundai customer service representative [XXX] ), under case number XXX, that there is currently no available remedy or repair for this recall. This situation is deeply concerning, as it involves a critical safety component intended to protect occupants in the event of a collision. Due to the nature of this defect, I do not feel safe operating the vehicle under any circumstances. Despite the acknowledged safety risk, Hyundai has not provided any adequate interim solution, such as a replacement vehicle or transportation assistance, leaving me effectively unable to safely use the vehicle. This places me in an unreasonable and unsafe position, as I am left with a vehicle that poses a potential risk to my safety without any available corrective action. I am the owner of a 2025 Hyundai Palisade SEL Premium, purchased in April 2025, currently at approximately 19,000 miles. I am writing to formally report two open safety recalls on this vehicle for which no remedy is currently available: 1. THIRD-ROW SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG RECALL: Affecting approximately 568,576 Hyundai Palisade vehicles (model years 2020–2025). The third-row side curtain airbags may not deploy correctly during a rollover, failing to prevent passenger ejection. This defect is a documented violation of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 226. As of the date of this complaint, Hyundai has not developed a fix. Owner notification letters are expected in late March 2026. In the interim, owners have been advised to avoid using the third row. 2. SEAT BELT RECALL: A separate seat belt recall is also open on this vehicle. I ordered the parts for this repair months ago and am still waiting. No repair has been completed to date. As a result, I am driving a brand-new vehicle with two unresolved safety defects and no timeline for repair on either. Because I have children who regularly occupy the third row, I am being forced to either expose them to a known safety risk or stop using the vehicle as intended. I am formally requesting that NHTSA: - Investigate the urgency of Hyundai's timeline for developing a remedy - Review whether Hyundai's interim guidance to owners is adequate given the severity of the FMVSS 226 violation - Consider whether a 'do not use third row' advisory should be formally and officially issued to all affected owners I purchased this vehicle in good faith as a family SUV. The inability to safely use the third row renders it unfit for its intended purpose. I urge NHTSA to apply pressure on Hyundai to expedite a remedy. Brandon Hyundai sold me this vehicle with an active stop sale. On February 20, 2026, I purchased a 2025 Hyundai Palisade from the dealership. After taking delivery of the vehicle, I discovered that the VIN associated with the vehicle was subject to an active manufacturer stop-sale related to a safety recall for which no remedy was available at the time of delivery. This critical information was not disclosed to me during the sales process and was not reflected in any documentation provided at closing, including the buyer’s order or “We Owe” form. As a consumer, I relied on the dealership to comply with applicable safety requirements and to be transparent about the condition and status of the vehicle being sold. Upon discovering the stop-sale status, I returned to the dealership the very next day, on Saturday February 21, 2026, to address the issue. During that visit, I spoke with both the Sales Manager and the Finance Manager. At that time, I was told that there was nothing that could be done because I had already signed the contract and “the ink was dry.” The seriousness of the concern I raised was initially dismissed. As I am sure you know, the contract should be void when selling a vehicle in violation of the law. Both of these managers promised me that the vehicle had undergone a safety check prior to delivery, which is not true, as later discussed. It was not until the following Monday morning, February 23, 2026, after escalating the issue again and speaking with another manager, that the dealership agreed to reverse the transaction. On that second attempt, the deal was unwound and my trade-in vehicle and down payment were returned to me. While I acknowledge that the dealership ultimately corrected the situation, the fact remains that the vehicle should never have been delivered to a consumer while under an active stop-sale condition. The initial refusal to address the issue when it was first raised with management was deeply concerning.

My current speed was approximately 25 to 30 mph. I was heading towards a ditch and almost crashed into the ditch. Took the car to the dealership. The dealership inspected and the intake vacuum line that controls the brakes fail part was defective. Dealership had to order the part. It took them 20 days to get my SUV repaired and back to me. Part was covered under warranty.

After 45 days of purchasing the SUV I notice the front grille was checking and flaking. Report it to the dealership and Hyundai. They said it was caused by "out influence". So they didn't cover it. After several attempts back and forth with dealership they finally agreed to cover the replacement front grille. This is an on going issue with these grilles. The new grille is starting to do the same thing. Many Hyundai palisade customers on the forums are talking about this issue!

I am reporting Hyundai Motor America’s failure to remedy two active safety recalls on my 2025 Hyundai Palisade (VIN: [XXX] ) within a reasonable timeframe, despite multiple attempts to have the vehicle repaired. My vehicle has two open safety recalls involving critical occupant protection systems, including seat belt buckle assemblies that may fail to latch properly and a third-row occupant safety defect that increases the risk of injury in the event of a crash or rollover. On October 23, 2025, I brought my vehicle to the Hyundai dealership specifically to have the recall defects repaired. At the time of drop-off, I clearly informed the dealership that the purpose of the visit was for recall repairs. However, the dealership labeled the visit as a “maintenance appointment” instead of properly documenting it as a recall repair visit. The recall defects were not repaired. I returned to the Hyundai dealership again on February 18, 2026, after being promised that the recall repairs would be completed. Once again, Hyundai failed to repair the safety defects, and the recalls remain unresolved. It is now February 20, 2026, more than four months since I first presented the vehicle for recall repair, and Hyundai has failed to remedy these critical safety defects or provide a clear timeline for repair. These defects involve essential safety systems, including seat belts and third-row occupant protection. I have four children who regularly occupy the rear seating areas, and I am deeply concerned about their safety. Hyundai’s failure to repair these safety recalls has placed my family at risk. Because Hyundai has failed to repair the vehicle within a reasonable timeframe, I am requesting NHTSA investigation and assistance. I am also requesting that Hyundai provide trade assistance, replacement, or buyback so that I can obtain a safe vehicle for my family, at no cost to me, due to Hyundai’s inability to remedy these safety defects. I am reporting a serious safety issue involving my 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The vehicle has repeatedly produced white smoke during cold start and has experienced loss of engine power while driving. Despite multiple repair visits (six times) to an authorized Hyundai dealership, the dealer repeatedly stated that the condition could not be reproduced and no repairs were performed. I provided video evidence of the white smoke and described the symptoms in writing at each visit. Shortly after the most recent service visit(12/22/25), within approximately five days, the vehicle displayed an “Engine Power Limited” warning message and a malfunction indicator light (MIL). When this occurred, the vehicle’s power was significantly reduced, making it difficult to maintain speed and creating a potentially dangerous condition, especially during highway driving or merging into traffic. This issue poses a serious safety risk because sudden loss of engine power can increase the risk of collision. The problem appears to be intermittent but recurring, and it has not been properly diagnosed or corrected by the dealership despite repeated opportunities. The vehicle has not been repaired for this condition, and the defect remains unresolved. The condition may be available for inspection upon request, and diagnostic data such as warning messages and onboard fault codes should be present in the vehicle’s system. The failure began with white smoke during cold start and later escalated to engine power limitation and warning lights.

I am writing to formally report Hyundai’s failure to remedy Safety Recall 25V607 involving defective first and second-row seatbelts in our 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The recall was issued in September 2025 and stated no remedy was yet available but the vehicle remained safe if belts were checked after fastening. In December 2025, the front passenger seatbelt in our vehicle began unlatching while driving at highway speeds, even after confirming proper engagement as instructed by Hyundai. We have repeatedly contacted Hyundai of 110 (Farmingdale, NY) regarding remedy availability. A remedy became available in early December, and we were put on the dealership's list to order parts from Hyundai directly on December 30, but the parts still continue to be on backorder. We have minor children who must now rely on seatbelt-based car seat installation due to weight limits on LATCH. This is our only vehicle and it is virtually unusable at this point because I cannot in good conscience put my child in a car seat secured by a defective seatbelt. Given the documented malfunction of the seatbelt system, we are extremely concerned about the continued safety of this vehicle. Hyundai has not offered: - A loaner vehicle - A repurchase - A timeline for remedy We respectfully request investigation into Hyundai’s delay in remedying this federally mandated safety recall.

I purchased the 2025 CPO Palisade Calligraphy in April 9, 2025. Two weeks after I purchased it, I started noticing abnormal scratches and chips in the windshield. I had not driven behind a vehicle that threw rocks, I was not a beach for sand to scratch, nor had my vehicle been exposed to a creature that could have scratched the windshield. I reached out to my sales person and he said he'd connect back with me. That never happened. A couple months later, after getting my car detailed, I noticed many more scratches and dozens of chips. I reached back out to the dealer and my salesperson had left. I connected with a manager, as the chipping and scratching was causing a safety issue as I was focusing on it while driving and the way the sun would hit it caused awful glares. After speaking with a manager and then general sales manager, they agreed to replace the windshield. It was not until after this situation and my moonroof randomly exploding that I realized there were a number of windshield complaints on Hyundai's, specifically Palisades. While most reports are from 2020, I wanted to report to NTHSB that the issue is still happening.

The vehicle’s forward collision warning / rear cross-traffic warning system is falsely detecting obstacles while I am driving down a normal residential driveway. The driveway has a gentle slope overall, with a slightly sharper angle right at the point where it meets the street. As I begin to move down the driveway—both in Drive and Reverse—the vehicle emits warning beeps and then suddenly and aggressively applies the brakes on its own, even though the path is completely clear. The braking is abrupt and forceful, and the system appears to misinterpret the brief angle change at the curbline as an obstacle. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This malfunction puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because the unexpected hard stop could cause a collision or loss of control. More importantly, if the system behaves this way on a simple residential driveway, it could be extremely hazardous on public roads that have larger hills, dips, or transitions. Sudden automatic braking on a main roadway or at higher speeds could lead to a serious crash. The problem has occurred repeatedly and consistently at the same driveway since I began driving the vehicle. It happens nearly every time. I took the vehicle to Speck Hyundai in Kennewick, WA, but the dealer was unable to reproduce the issue during their inspection. I have video evidence clearly showing the warning beeps and the vehicle braking on its own.

The vehicle has roughly 8500 miles on it in the first year. We have experienced multiple engine misfires due to bad ignition coils on cylinders 3 & 4. The first incident, I brought the vehicle to the dealership, and they replaced the coil, cleaned the cylinder, and covered everything under warranty. The dealership told me this is common and Hyundai will not replace the remaining coils until they misfire, even though the dealership knows the coils do not perform well in colder weather. I called corporate regarding this issue, and they confirmed that they will not replace the remaining coils, although a mechanic at a dealership they work with has already confirmed they regularly misfire. The Hyundai call center refuses to reach out to the dealership to confirm, will not provide written documentation, and will not provide me with more solutions for their defective vehicle. I asked them if they could provide me with written confirmation that the vehicle was safe, but they could not.

I have an ongoing safety concern on my vehicle, seemingly having to do with the brakes or ABS malfunction. There is a delay in the breaking of the vehicle occasionally in specific circumstances. Typically in a parking lot or stop sign, if there is a buckling of the road or potholes or uneven surfaces between the tires, the vehicle will skid over the surfaces and braking is delayed. Events have occurred 8 documented times and a few more during my ownership of the vehicle. Because this typically happens at a stop sign and the car has driven through the stop sign the issue could absolutely cause a multi exhale accident. Because this issue is surface specific, it is difficult to reproduce and the dealership is unable to find the root cause and fix the vehicle. During the two service visits, the dealer has tried to find the issue by doing a diagnostic scan and did a road test on each of the visits as well. In the four months that I’ve owned this vehicle and 10,000 miles that I have driven. This is happened less than a dozen times – most of the incidents are personally documented. No visible warning lights engage when the events have happened. I have contacted Hyundai consumer affairs and am working with them on a resolution of which neither party is sure of at this point. It happened on the way home from Manhattan [from Mount Sinai Hospital], near the ramp to 9W. The road was freshly milled (top layer removed before repaving), and I was going downhill. Traffic ahead was slowing, I had plenty of room, and it wasn’t even a sudden stop — I was just trying to gradually slow down when the car failed to respond properly. This isn’t some one-off. The behavior matches what I’ve seen others report: at low speeds, on rough or uneven surface, the ABS seems to engage when it shouldn’t, and instead of stopping, the car jerks forward. I’ve been able to replicate it a few times now — I more or less can sense when it might happen. To make matters worse, my pregnant wife was in the passenger seat when this happened. She injured her left shoulder during the crash, and the very next day she had to undergo an emergency C-section. Because her lower body was numbed for surgery, the pain in her shoulder made the whole experience much harder for her [btw, Mother and Baby are perfectly fine, thanks god]. Inspection: The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer’s service department and corporate case team. Warning Signs: No warning lights, error messages, or abnormal noises were present prior to the failure. The dealership classified the failure as impact damage, claiming an external force caused the rear strut to detach, which excludes it from warranty coverage. However, my insurance inspection found no evidence of significant impact or collision, noting only minimal scuffing and no structural deformation. This indicates the issue was more consistent with a mechanical or structural defect rather than road damage.

The brakes on the car almost caused an accident where we would have rear ended the car in front of us. We were in a line of cars exiting a gravel parking lot traveling 5-10 mph. I pressed on the brake pedal as the car in front of us began to brake and our antilock brakes engaged and our car continued to travel forward towards the car in front of us. Luckily the car in front of us pulled out onto the road and we did not hit them. Similar issues have happened a handful of times since buying in March of 2025. I am an experienced driver and am familiar with how antilock brakes work and when they should engage, these instances have not been such cases. It seems it will only be a matter of time until this causes accidents. Another instance was when approaching a stop sign and hitting rumble strips in the road. This improper engaging of antilock brakes can very easily lead to car not stopping in time putting myself, my family, and other vehicles traveling on road at risk. I called the dealer and they said there is no issue and the antilock brakes are acting as they should. I have owned several cars over my lifetime and never had antilock brakes engage in these same instances. Upon investigation online, other drivers are experiencing similar issues and Hyundai is denying the issue. I have an appointment scheduled to get it looked at. There were no warnings, messages or other symptoms of the problem. How many people are going to have to report the same issue or how many people are going to have to be hurt before action is taken.

My car has had numerous issue. The first issue was with the front end collision warning system. I had a sensor warning come on twice saying it may not be in use, but then it falsely predicted a collision resulting in the car slamming on the brakes when nothing was there. I almost go rear-ended as a result. The dealer found that the radar system was completely broken and the sensor was facing to the side instead of the front. I bought the car brand new and there was no evidence of damage and it has never been explained how it got damaged. They replaced the system and that was resolved, but the sensors continue acting strange. It's now turning on the camera and telling me to check my surroundings when I'm stopped at a red light. There is nothing happening around me. The problem that is ongoing and has yet to be resolved is my brakes. It's an intermittent issue, but when I go over rough surfaces and hit the brakes I get a crunching/grinding noise that sounds like it's grinding rocks. This happens intermittently. The dealer was eventually able to replicate it and is saying it's the ABS system and that it's normal, but cannot do anything to repair it. However, it is not normal for ABS to come on going over a bump and it shouldn't sound like that. When this happens, the brakes don't seem to respond properly and as quickly as it should. I have not gotten any warning lights for the brake issue. It does put the parking brake on at times for no reason when I'm on a completely flat surface. The car was out of service for 21 days in a month and a half of owning it. I have a car that I don't feel safe in and I don't trust what it's going to do. It's problem after problem and corporate Hyundai doesn't want to do anything about it.

2025 Palisade 1,700 miles. Brand new. When I approached a stop sign, there was a small pothole just before it. When braking towards this sign, the front left tire traveled over the pothole. The car then shook violently and braking appeared to have halted for a moment. A search online revealed many people having similar issues with potholes/uneven roads and the brakes not functioning during this shaking period. It is suspected this is an antilock brake system. The issue is that it is too sensitive. Needs a recall to retune the sensitivity of this.

. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? ---------- Nothing failed but the lane assist feature forces the car to drive hugging the left lane and not on the center of the road. This can be very dangerous on a freeway when passing big wide trucks. If you use the cruise control this feature automatically turns itself on. . How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? ------ When the lane assist is turned on the car drives close to the left line and not on the center of the road and this could be very dangerous when passing large wide vehicles or those with wide trailers. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? ------------ Yes. I took it to the dealer and they said that's how the car was designed and there is nothing they can do. They asked me to contact the Hyundai Customer Affairs. I opened a case number with Hyundai Customer Affairs. They said that if the dealer did not find a problem then there is nothing they can do. I am stuck with the problem. While gently slowing/braking on warm and dry pavement, the vehicle proceeded over bumpy railroad tracks which seemingly activated the Anti-lock brake system and prohibited the vehicle from stopping effectively. I had to turn the vehicle away from the vehicle stopped ahead of me because my vehicle was not stopping in time and I narrowly avoiding an accident due to this situation. Due to this inappropriate activation of the ABS system, the vehicle took significantly longer to come to a stop, and once the ABS stopped pulsating, the vehicle abruptly stopped, however I already had to turn away from the vehicle in front of me to avoid rear-ending it. This is an exceptionally unsafe situation that will inevitable cause injury or death should someone be driving fast up to the car in front of them and not expect this to occur. This is an extremely unexpected vehicle equipment response on a perfectly dry road without any debris/etc to cause tire slippage. Having done some online research of the issue, this seems to be a frequent problem experienced by other Palisade owners however Hyundai is not doing anything about it. We will have the vehicle inspected when we bring it in for the recent recall that Hyundai identified regarding seatbelts (however no fix has been identified for it as of yet).

My safety, as well as others on the road are put at risk until this issue is fixed. The first dealership i took the vehicle to on 8/28/25 told me there were no issues and couldn't find anything wrong. The problem has since been replicated by the 2nd dealer who has looked at the vehicle 9/22/25. No warnings or messages popped up on the dash at any occurrence. The Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) is severely malfunctioning. When driving on stone roads, gravel, or uneven terrain, the brakes either fail to engage properly, over-react, or cause sudden grinding and shaking. This results in an unpredictable stopping distance. The issue creates an immediate risk of collision, particularly when braking on gravel, uneven surfaces, or potentially snow and ice. The vehicle sometimes requires a much longer stopping distance than expected, and at other times it locks up or nearly stops abruptly. This unpredictable braking response could cause rear-end accidents or loss of control. The issue has been reproduced multiple times during my daily commute on stone roads to my job. I have informed the dealer of the problem, though a complete confirmation or resolution has not yet been provided. The dealer has been made aware of the issue, but to my knowledge, the vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representative - only by the dealership themselves. No warning lamps or dashboard messages appear before or during the problem. The symptoms first became noticeable shortly after purchasing the vehicle in July 2025, and they continue to occur regularly whenever the vehicle is driven on stone or uneven terrain. The vehicle was just purchased July 19, 2025 and is currently in the shop at the dealership right now where they are telling me they cannot find an issue.

I am submitting this supplemental complaint regarding a repeated and dangerous brake failure in my 2025 Hyundai Palisade. This is a follow-up to my original complaint submitted in July 2025. On multiple occasions while driving at low speeds (around 5 mph), including turning into driveways or approaching intersections, the braking system failed to respond properly. The brake pedal felt like it lost connection — similar to how a bike slips when its brake fails. The vehicle kept moving forward even while I was applying the brake. This nearly caused accidents several times. I believe the automatic emergency braking system (AEB) also failed to engage. One incident caused me to hit a fence, resulting in a small dent. Hyundai is now refusing to repair the safety systems under warranty because of that dent — even though the dent was a result of the brake malfunction. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Hyundai service center, and they refused to cover the issue under warranty or provide a loaner vehicle, leaving me to drive a potentially dangerous car. I also want to note that I have seen multiple recent NHTSA complaints from other Hyundai Palisade owners describing similar brake issues. This suggests a wider pattern of brake failure, which must be urgently investigated before someone is seriously injured or worse. Hyundai has failed to properly investigate the issue or assist me in any meaningful way. This vehicle is still under warranty, and I am unable to safely use it while they delay responsibility.

On June 30th, I turn right, into a parking lot. I take an immediate left and pull up to a stop sign at the end of a fast food driveway. There is about a 30 ft distance between turning right off of the main road and stopping at the stop sign. While attempting to brake, they lock up and skid. I have a scared foster child in the car. I was unable to brake, only using my right foot. I have to apply pressure to finally be able to get it to stop, with my left foot as well. While doing this, I hit my left, big toenail on the brake pedal and rip half of it off. Upon a quick Google search, looking for issues with the brakes, I discover that there is a current lawsuit for 2023-2025 Palisade models for ABS and traction control issues. Clearly this is a reoccurring issue. I take my brand new car into the Hyundai service department to have a look at the brakes. They see nothing wrong.

I’m trying to go from 35 to 60 and there’s a delay from the time I step on gas until the car actually go faster. It didn’t stall or shut off. If someone was behind me, I fear i would have been rear ended. Dealership said diagnostic test was fine and unable to reproduce. They reset computer and said it must be my driving. Luckily, a collision in the front and back was avoided but this was extremely unsafe and unexpected. Now I’m scared to drive this car. Unknown. In a span of 15 minutes, I encountered 3 events in traffic where accidents could've occurred. I was in the middle turning lane, completely stopped. I tried to accelerate and start left turn when the car shut down, all lights on dashboard lit up. There's an alert saying push P (park) and restart engine. It took 2 or 3 times of trying to get the car to start. Once started the engine and oil lights came on. They went off soon after. Luckily, the car stopped before the turn started or there may have been an accident. I continue my drive down the street, come to an intersection where I slowly brake, the front passenger tire hit a pothole and the car slid into intersection (my foot still on the brake) instead of coming to a compete stop before the intersection. Again, accident avoided only because the oncoming traffic passed before car slid forward. Lastly, trying to get home safely and shaken badly, I come to another intersection. I'm the first car with 4 cars behind me. I'm completely stopped at a red light. The light turns green, I attempt to accelerate to move through light and the car shuts down again. All lights on dashboard light up, the emergency brake is automatically engaged and I spend the light cycle trying to get the car to restart. I had to release the emergency parking brake, put car in park, try to push start button. Last steps repeated more than once. Thank goodness the cars behind me were paying attention and didn't drive based on the light being green. There was no warning for any of these events. It was extremely scary and I don't trust the car to drive it further. I'm having it towed to the dealership for inspection. This is a 2025 with 636 miles on it and about 8 incidents regarding safety since purchased less than 2 months ago.

There have been several instances--at least a dozen--where I will apply the brakes over a bump, pothole, or steep driveway and the car will skid. It's exactly how it feels when ABS activates when a car brakes on an icy road. The brake will disengage then re-engage, delaying the overall stop time. The skid feeling when the brake releases is unnerving and, again, delays the stopping time. Luckily I have not been close enough to the car in front of me and no collisions have occurred. It has happened often enough that I can often anticipate when it will occur (like over a bump), and I allow myself more time to brake. However, one can't predict when you need an emergency stop and it's scary to think my car could possibly not stop in time. I will issue a complaint to the dealer, as well. This issue has not been inspected by anyone yet but I plan to have our dealer look at it. No warning lights on the dash have come on during any of the times the skidding has occurred.

I was driving on a road that was very rough with many bumps and the car (well in front of me) began to slow down to avoid a big pot hole, I applied my brakes to slow down before I got close to that car. Because the road was rough, as many others have filed the same complaint now, my Palisade engaged the ABS and the car coasted much farther than it shoudl have with the amount of brake pressure I was applying to stop before I collided with the vehicle slowing in front of me. The ABS prevented me from stopping before I almost hit the car who at that point had stopped in front of me, the forward collision warning came on and the emergency braking applied violently which almost caused a wreck behind me as well becuase the person behind me was not prepared to me to come to a complete abrupt halt. The palisade stopped itself after the ABS wouldn't let me stop soon enough to avoid a collision in front of me - almost causing a wreck behind me. With a simple google search, this ABS engaging on rough roads is a major common problem that Hyundai needs to address before we're all paying for wrecks that we didn't cause due to driver neglience but rather the functionality of the vehicle is causing the safety problem. I immediately called my dealership and have an appt for them to look at it early next week. I'm frightened this will cause me or my wife and kids to be in a wreck that could have been prevented.

I have had issues with the brakes on my brand new 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The first incident was in a parking lot. I was driving up to the exit of the parking lot, driving very slow. When I pushed on the brakes, the brake pedal shook, the car lurched forward and did not stop as it should. From what I have read online, this seems like an ABS system failure. Similar things have also happened on bumpy street coming up to a stop sign driving at slow speeds. Luckily, I have been able to stop before going into an intersection. This is very scary when it happens and especially when my family is in the car. I am driving slow but if I am unable to stop and go into an intersection, I will cause an accident. I took the car to the dealership this morning. They inspected it and were unable to recreate it. They said they cannot do anything until the issue can be replicated. We bought this car because of its safety rating but driving around with brakes that are not reliable is definitely a safety issue.

While driving at approximately 20 mph on rough asphalted road (city road under construction) I applied the brakes in a normal fashion only to be met with violent shaking of the car and an unresponsive brake pedal. After pumping the brakes several times I was able to bring the car to an abrupt halt, narrowly avoiding an accident, i.e., I was inches away from smashing the car in front of me. The violent shaking felt similar to when an ABS is engaged, though more pronounced. I have an appointment with the dealer next week but am documenting the event given the numerous reports I found online and the multiple reports of the dealers doing nothing to remedy the safety issue. The vehicle has not—as of yet—been expected by the dealer. No warning lamps or messages appeared during the incident. This happened once before under similar circumstances approximately two weeks ago but I wrote it off as a "one off."

As seen on many complaints online, the ABS system is failing when coming to a stop on dry roads. If you hit the slightest bump it will lung forward and you are unable to stop the car for 15-20 feet. This has happened numerous times almost causing an accident with my family. My fiancé was driving the kids to school and she hit the brakes at a stop light and she was unable to stop until she was in the intersection. Luckily, the cars coming were able to avoid her. She is petrified to drive this car. Hyundai has a case open and since they can't replicate it at the dealership, they send me my car back. When traveling slowly and braking, if you hit a bump the car steering begins to shake wildly that makes you feel you will lose control. You have to bump the brakes to make it stop. Seems like the anti lock brakes kick in when it shouldn’t and because it is the front tires make the car violently shake. Happens intermittently and difficult to reproduce at will. Has happened numerous times. Brought to dealership and because it can’t be reproduced at will they will not investigate the issue. Seems to be only a matter of time this will cause an accident.

On three separate occasions while driving in moderate stop-and-go traffic, I experienced an intermittent issue with my braking system. I was unable to fully depress the brake pedal. In some instances, the pedal felt like it was grinding as I pressed it down. The grinding sound was similar to what you might hear when there’s surface rust on the brakes in the morning, but it was coming from the brake pedal. I had been driving for a while and it hadn’t rained in days. I also felt feedback in the pedal during these instances, even though the issue did not appear to be related to the brake pads or rotors. This reduced my ability to brake effectively, and although I have not been involved in a crash, the safety of myself and those around me on the road was potentially in jeapordy. The issue is sporadic and does not trigger any dashboard warning lights.

Hyundai "Smart Cruise Control (SCC)" I had my SCC set at 54mph. I entered a broad curve, which was gentle enough that it was safe to maintain that speed. Ahead was a left-turn turnout lane for vehicles wanting to make a left turn off the highway. This turn lane is part of the broad curve, too. A vehicle was stopped ahead in this appropriate turn-off lane waiting for oncoming traffic to clear. As my vehicle entered the curve, the radar/camera at the front of my car detected this stopped vehicle a little ahead of me, and immediately began to brake my car into a panic stop. I was thrown forward a little in the seat, and the vehicle immediately behind me had to suddenly brake, too, in order to avoid read-ending me. These was no need for this of course. With conventional cruise control, I would have been able to navigate through the curve at the set speed, and all vehicles in the vicinity, including mine and the vehicle behind me, would have been safe. The Hyundai owner's manual points out that the SCC may well malfunction in curve situations (among many, many other situations). Smart Cruise Control is an accident waiting to happen. Please, please get this feature OFF of vehicles sold in the United States. Return control of the vehicle to the drive, not some camera. Thank you.

I'm writing to report a safety issue with my 2025 Palisade Calligraphy Knight Edition. The other day, I was driving in town on a rough road, going under 25 miles per hour, when I came to a stop sign. I pressed on the brakes, but the car wouldn't stop completely. It kept moving forward, shuddering, and the ABS wouldn't stop. It felt like the brakes were not engaging properly, and the ABS was malfunctioning. It did finally stop on its own, but it was really scary. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? I believe the braking system, and potentially the ABS, malfunctioned. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My safety and the safety of others were put at risk because the vehicle did not stop as expected, and I had limited control over the vehicle's movement. This could have resulted in a collision. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, the problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. This is the first time it has happened. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No, the vehicle and its components have not been inspected by anyone regarding this issue. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. I'm worried that this could happen again, and I want to make sure that other drivers are aware of this potential problem. I've only had my Palisade for less than 100 miles, so I'm hoping this is an isolated incident.
