Safety Intelligence
Composite analysis from NHTSA recall, complaint, and crash data
- ▸Brake system recall
- ⚠Safety system appears in both official recalls and owner complaints
Lemon law eligibility depends on state law, number of repair attempts, and days out of service. Consult an attorney for actual eligibility.
The same components appear in both official NHTSA recalls and owner-filed complaints — a double-confirmed failure signal.
Deferred Failure Risk
Components and defects approaching or past their known service milestones
Worn chain tensioners cause timing chain skip or snap — common on GM 5.3L/6.2L, Ford EcoBoost, VW/Audi EA888, BMW N47/N63. Listen for cold-start rattles.
Water pump failure causes rapid overheating. If the engine overheats even once, head gasket damage is likely — turning a $400 part into a $3,000+ repair.
Degraded transmission fluid destroys clutch packs and solenoids. CVT transmissions are especially sensitive — neglected fluid can result in a $4,000–$8,000 replacement.
Degraded coolant loses corrosion inhibitors and attacks aluminum engine components. Can cause head gasket failure and water pump corrosion.
Worn spark plugs cause misfires that can foul and crack catalytic converters. A $150 tune-up can prevent a $1,200 catalytic converter replacement.
Dirty or failing injectors cause rough idle, reduced fuel economy, and increased emissions. Cleaning costs $100–$200; replacement $800–$1,600.

SERVICE BRAKES
SummarySuzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain model year 2004-2013 GSX-R600 and GSX-R750, and model year 2005-2013 GSX-R1000 motorcycles. In combination with older brake fluid, corrosion of the brake piston inside of the front brake master cylinder generates gas that may result in a reduction of fluid pressure transmission to the front brake.Read full details...

I HAVE OWNED A 2005 SUZUKI GSX-R 600 FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS. I GOT A MANUFACTURER SAFETY RECALL NOTICE ON MY FRONT BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SO I CONTACTED MY LOCAL SUZUKI DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE "FREE" SERVICE DONE ON MY MOTORCYCLE. I DROPPED MY MOTORCYCLE OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP ON 8/2/18. I WAS TOLD THE DEALERSHIP WAS STILL WAITING ON THE PARTS FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND IT WOULD BE A FEW DAYS OR MAYBE EVEN A WEEK BEFORE THE DEALERSHIP COULD WORK ON IT. BECAUSE MY MOTORCYCLE WAS NOT MY PRIMARY TRANSPORTATION AND THE DEALERSHIP WAS WAITING ON THE PARTS FROM THE MANUFACTURER TO PREFORM THE RECALL, I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP TO TAKE THERE TIME AND PLEASE CONTACT ME WHEN THE RECALL WAS FINISHED. ON 8/15/18 I WAS CALLED AND INFORMED THE RECALL WAS PREFORMED AND MY MOTORCYCLE WAS READY TO BE PICKED UP. I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP I WOULD BE INTO GET MY MOTORCYCLE WHEN I COULD FIND SOMEONE TO GIVE ME A RIDE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID NO PROBLEM. ON 8/25/18 I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO PICK UP MY MOTORCYCLE AND THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME IT WAS STOLEN AND I NEED TO COME BACK ON 8/27/18 TO SPEAK WITH OWNER OF DEALERSHIP. WENT IN ON 8/27/18 TO SPEAK WITH OWNER AND THE OWNER INFORMED ME THAT IF THE POLICE DID NOT RECOVER MY MOTORCYCLE AND IF I DIDN'T HAVE INSURANCE ON MY MOTORCYCLE THEN I WOULD "MOST LIKELY" NOT BE GETTING MY MOTORCYCLE REPLACED. MY BIKE WAS STATIONARY AT THE DEALERSHIP THE ENTIRE TIME FROM 8/2/18 UNTIL WHEN THE MOTORCYCLE WAS STOLEN
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND A CAR PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME AND I COULDN'T STOP. THE BRAKES WOULD NOT HOLD. I T-BONED THE CAR RESULTING IN NEAR FATAL INJURIES.
I WAS RIDING AT 30MPH AND WHILE TRYING TO SLOWLY BRAKE MY BIKE WOULD NOT RESPOND AND I ENDED HITTING A CURB DUE TO MY BIKE WOULDN'T BRAKE AND I CRASHED I ENDED FLYING OFF MY BIKE HITTING A WALL FROM A RESIDENTIAL HOME I WAS HURT, DUE TO ACCIDENT I'M STILL SUFFERING PAIN DUE TO INJURY TIL THIS DAY. *TR
