Critical Deferred Risk
Critical deferred failure risk — 3 safety-critical or high-cost components are past their service interval. Without immediate attention, repair costs will compound significantly.
No odometer data on record. Mileage is estimated at ~108,000 mi based on average annual driving. Items marked EST. OVERDUE may already be due — verify service history with the seller. Items marked OVERDUE are confirmed past-due based on vehicle age alone.
DUE SOONCriticalTiming Chain Tensioner
Service interval: 120,000 mi · Est. ~108,000 mi (no odometer on record)
Schedule Timing Chain Tensioner service before 120,000 mi
Worn chain tensioners cause timing chain skip or snap — common on GM 5.3L/6.2L, Ford EcoBoost, VW/Audi EA888, BMW N47/N63. Listen for cold-start rattles.
EST. OVERDUECriticalWater Pump
Service interval: 8 yr · Vehicle age: 9 yr · Past due by age
Service Water Pump immediately — already past the 100,000 mi / 8 yr interval
Water pump failure causes rapid overheating. If the engine overheats even once, head gasket damage is likely — turning a $400 part into a $3,000+ repair.
EST. OVERDUEHighTransmission Fluid / Service
Service interval: 5 yr · Vehicle age: 9 yr · Past due by age
Service Transmission Fluid / Service immediately — already past the 60,000 mi / 5 yr interval
Degraded transmission fluid destroys clutch packs and solenoids. CVT transmissions are especially sensitive — neglected fluid can result in a $4,000–$8,000 replacement.
EST. OVERDUEHighCoolant Flush
Service interval: 5 yr · Vehicle age: 9 yr · Past due by age
Service Coolant Flush immediately — already past the 100,000 mi / 5 yr interval
Degraded coolant loses corrosion inhibitors and attacks aluminum engine components. Can cause head gasket failure and water pump corrosion.
EST. OVERDUEModerateSpark Plugs (iridium/platinum)
Service interval: 8 yr · Vehicle age: 9 yr · Past due by age
Service Spark Plugs (iridium/platinum) immediately — already past the 100,000 mi / 8 yr interval
Worn spark plugs cause misfires that can foul and crack catalytic converters. A $150 tune-up can prevent a $1,200 catalytic converter replacement.
DUE SOONModerateFuel Injectors
Service interval: 120,000 mi · Est. ~108,000 mi (no odometer on record)
Schedule Fuel Injectors service before 120,000 mi
Dirty or failing injectors cause rough idle, reduced fuel economy, and increased emissions. Cleaning costs $100–$200; replacement $800–$1,600.

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Juke. The contact stated that while at a red light, the vehicle slowly accelerated to 60 MPH. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed back to the residence. An independent mechanic arrived at the residence to diagnose the vehicle. The contact was not notified of the cause of the failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 83,497. The VIN was unavailable.

ODI #11686496ENGINE

Problems with CVT Transmission causes stalling and or shuddering. The RPM goes up and down when idle.

ODI #11665490AIR BAGS,SEAT BELTS

This vehicle has 16K miles. The air bag and seat belt warning lights are illuminated. This car has a Nissan Extended Gold Warranty for 4 more years and 55K more miles. This warranty does not include these mentioned safety systems. This - any - warranty of this type should include the safety systems. This is a disregard for safety systems.

ODI #11529300ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Vehicle continues to rev engine high upon starting. Causing service engine light & traction control warning light to turn on. Does so after sitting. No one has been able to diagnose. Once codes are cleared, light do not go back in for days/weeks. Little acceleration will occurs. Engine seems to over heat in hotter weather. This was after sitting in park for a min. Of 3 hours. Never after driving.

ODI #11518417UNKNOWN OR OTHERCRASH

We purchased this vehicle brand new and currently has 24,000 miles and has always been garaged . I just became aware now that there is no functioning burglar alarm and possibly no ignition lock-out similar to the Kia and Hyundai issue . Even though there is a functioning armed indicator light on the dash and there is a horn alert on locking and the button on the key fob alerts , there is no alarm on attempted entry or other assault . I looked the other day to see if the alarm fuse might be blown and there was no fuse in that position and there was only one wire to that position which , of course , makes it non- functional . This vehicle has had the tires vandalized , sabotaged, 3 times and hit-and -run all in our church parking lot while we were inside the building , car locked , armed ? , and no alarm sounded ever . There is nothing in the owner's manual that says the alarm or lock-out is optional . I have owned a 2011 Juke , a 2014 Juke and I was not aware of any alarm problem . I have just contacted nissanUSA and local dealer , no response yet .

I have Change the battery every year for the last 3 years at no charge from Nissan. This year the battery acid came out and make some damages , which Nissan fixed at no charge due to (Collateral damage) Car stops accelerating out of nowhere even with the battery exchange Yes, Nissan service center has confirm that my car is not the only one having this issues , even there's cars that get battery exchange every 8 months . Nissan service center has checked this issue, but they just rather change the battery instead of checking why this is happening . decrease of acceleration starts around month 9 or 10, the difference right know is that even with the battery exchange is still happening.

ODI #11429318POWER TRAINCRASH

This has happened several times in the couple months ive owned the car, the scariest incident involving the transmission slipping and the car losing power was after having to stop on the shoulder of i95 highway this was the first time i had even given it more than the reasonable rate of pedel pressure or "gas" and im expecting to get up to speed to merge back into the flow of traffic however right at 45-50mph as im merging into the far right lane of the highway the engine just screams out and rpms max out the car slows rapidly. This is becoming more and more frequent and also theres times we take for granted when we need that engine to work to either get out of an intersesction, merge into traffic, use the cars power as a preventative measure to stay safe in various environments. Driving through baltimore city, a group of young men surrounded my car a week ago and start giving it an entire washing , mind youu im at a red light, but theyve got buckets and soapy rags sudz everywhere and when it turns green the older looking of them screams "50 bucks explicit explicit " " I know you got it" i dont have a dollar on me just my credit cards and also my little neice penelope. i see an opening and floor it but instantly engine winds all the way up , its just ravving out the boy throws a rock cracking my windshield , the crack is aligned with my face so imagine my anxiety levels trying to explain to my sister penelopes mother what had her daughter screaming and crying . So in short the transmission has been a nightmare and I would love to see a recall or some other recourse for me. I am a new owner , i have seen there was a lawsuit awhile back, i took the car to Jone Nissan in Beliar MD after they sweat talked me into bringing my car right away saying things like man are you lucky, and your still udner warranty , your getting a new transmission compliments of nissan, just hyping me up to the tone of take a loaner car and we're fix everything free of charge. However within 6

APPROX 1:00 P.M. I PULLED INTO THE WENDY'S DRIVE THROUGH AND THE LINE WAS WRAPPED AROUND THE BUILDING. THERE WAS A LARGE LIKE FORD TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME. I SAT THERE MAYBE 1 MIN AND I THOUGHT FELT MY CAR JUMP (AND I THOUGHT 'WHAT WAS THAT'), THEN THE TRUCK PULLED UP AND THE SECOND I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE, MY CAR FELT LIKE AN AIRPLANE AND I PLOWED INTO THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME (I HAD NO CONTROL). MY CAR KEPT GOING UNTIL HE IT KNOCKED HIM OUT OF THE LINE OF THE DRIVE THROUGH LINE AND MY CAR KEPT GOING ACROSS THE PARKING LOT THEN UP ONTO THE CURB, BUT IT STOPPED BEFORE HITTING A TREE. I WAS TERRORIZED. I HAD THE BRAKES PUSHED DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND IT FELT LIKE THEY WERE IN SOMETHING SOFT, NOTHING HAPPENED. CALLED THE POLICE AND FILED A REPORT, CALLED STATE FARM TO START THE CLAIM. I FIRST CALLED LEE NISSAN TO TELL THEM WHAT HAPPENED, AND TALKED WITH PATRICK IN SERVICE. HE HAD NOTES THAT EVERYTIME I CAME IN I TOLD ABOUT THE CAR LUNGING. STATE FARM SET UP THE CAR TO GO TO CAPITAL FORD NEXT DOOR AND SET UP A RENTAL CAR. I WAS A MESS. WHILE ON THE PHONE IN THE PARKING LOT A GENTLEMAN PARKED BY ME CAME AND TOLD ME HE HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO HIS NISSAN VERSA (THE CAR HE WAS DRIVING), HE TALKED TO STATE FARM, AND SAID NISSAN HAD FILE ABOUT HIS SITUATION BUT IT HAPPENED JUST LIKE ME. MY TRACTION LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT REPEATEDLY HAVE COME ON AND REMAIN ON OVER THE COURSE OF THE LAST YEAR BUT HAVE NOT COME UP AS PART OF ANY OF THE SAFETY RECALLS THAT ARE AFFECTING OTHER NUKES THAT WERE BUILT DURING THE SAME TIME PERIOD. IN ADDITION, MY CAR MAKES A HUMMING SOUND AS IF ENGAGING THE TRACTION SYSTEM AT EACH STOP. I'VE HAD THE CAR SERVICED AND THE BRAKES CHANGED BUT TO NO AVAIL, THE LIGHTS HAVE RETURNED A MERE 3 WEEKS AFTER GETTING NEW PORCELAIN BRAKES AND ROTORS INSTALLED. MY CAR IS STILL NOT PART OF THE RECALL BUT I DO BELIEVE THERE IS INDEED AN ISSUE WITH MY BRAKE AND TRACTION SYSTEM AND IT IS GOING TO FAIL ME AT SOME POINT DESPITE NISSAN NOT WANTING TO FIX THIS.

MY 2017 AWD JUKE HAS ONLY 16,000 MILES ON IT AND ALREADY NEEDS THE FRONT TIRES REPLACED. THE BACK TIRES LOOK ALMOST NEW. I TOOK IT IN TO HAVE THE TIRES ROTATED AND WAS TOLD THEY ARE TOO WORN TO ROTATE AND WOULD NEED TO BUY 4 NEW TIRES. THE OTHER PROBLEM IS THE CAR WOULD NOT START SOMETIMES. IT IS PUSH BUTTON START. I NOTICED THE GREEN KEY LIGHT FLASHING ON THE DASH. AFTER READING THE MANUEL, I REPLACED THE BATTERY IN THE FOB. THAT DID NOT RECTIFY THE PROBLEM. THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL NOT ENGAGE TO START THE CAR. IT IS CURRENTLY PARKED IN THE GARAGE AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW WE WILL BE ABLE TO MOVE IT SINCE IT CAN NOT BE PUT IN GEAR WITHOUT BEING TURNED ON.

Chart Analysis

The blue line shows 14 NHTSA complaints on file for the NISSAN Juke — a relatively low volume that spans from 2018 to 2026.

The amber reliability line shows an improving trend — scores have risen from the earlier years toward 90/100 more recently, suggesting the most serious issues are older and may have been addressed through repairs or recalls.

Notably, despite 14 complaints on file, no recall has been issued — either the defect pattern has not met NHTSA's threshold for a formal campaign, or a recall may be forthcoming.

Red dots on the amber line flag 3 years (2020, 2021, 2023) where complaints included crash events — these are the highest-severity incidents in the dataset.

ACTIVEEXTENDED WARRANTYPonzio v. Nissan Settlement
Nissan CVT Extended Warranty (Jatco JF016 / JF017)
Transmission – CVT (Jatco JF016E / JF017E)
COVERAGE:Extended to 5 years / 60,000 miles; some class action settlements provide additional coverage

Nissan's Jatco continuously variable transmissions (CVT) suffer from overheating, shuddering, sudden deceleration, and premature failure. Nissan extended the CVT warranty following class action lawsuits. In some cases the warranty was extended further to 84,000 miles for documented repeat-failure vehicles. A class action settlement (Ponzio v. Nissan) provided additional reimbursement rights.

HOW TO CLAIM: Contact Nissan Consumer Affairs (1-800-647-7261) and provide your VIN to check for any CVT extended warranty applicable to your specific model year and variant. Ask the dealer to check for any open special coverage authorizations in their warranty system.

Coverage eligibility depends on your VIN, original sale date, and current mileage. Always verify with an authorized dealer or manufacturer customer service — programs may have been updated since this database was compiled.
