Fuel gauge malfunctions when the vehicle is cold .... Cannot see how much fuel is in the car or any other information on the gauge

The fuel gauge, Odometer went blank. Im afraid of be stranded o have in accident . Was taken to Burne Honda Scranton. The problem wasn’t resolved

Dial containing into, fuel quantity, MPG, trip and ODO intermittently will show completely blank (usually in colder weather) and eventually will show. Sometimes takes 2-25 minutes. Honda says the fix is a new dash unit but cause is faulty/bad solders on back of board.

The fuel gauge and odometer digital display goes blank, when it comes back on the numbers are not clear. It does not happen every time I start the car but is something that concerns me. It was first observed January 24, 2026. The safety issue would be not knowing how much gas I have. The problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. The component has not been inspected by the manufacturer. There were no no warning lights or messages prior to the malfunctioning.

Car only has 91,000 miles and code P219A is popping up but Honda wont cover it because its the "wrong" code even though they cover fuel injectors under misfire codes.

The dashboard display screen that shows gas gauge, mileage, clock, MPH, and oil life glitches on and off, is at times completely blank, and sometimes shows gibberish or incorrect information. Sometimes it works, but over the past 2-3 years it happens progressively more. My vehicle is about 6 years old and the display now work correctly almost never. This is a safety issue because I now have no way of knowing if I am running out of gas because the display most often shows me nothing, and sometimes shows more gas on the gauge that there actually is. This could lead to my vehicle stalling in traffic or leaving me stranded somewhere unsafe. I also seldom can see the milage and oil life, which means I don't have any way to know if my car is due for important service that ensures it is operating safely. A quick internet search into the problem shows that this is a very common issued in Honda Fits over multiple year models, and is also costly to fix, usually requiring replacement of the unit.

Multiple engine lights turned on at the same time: brake system warning, ACC problem, Auto High beam problem, Road mitigation system problem, LKAS problem. Lights turned on this past week. UNKNOWN cause. Went to official Honda dealership, oil was changed and given a multi-point inspection. Everything showed as Satisfactory, except for front brakes that showed as May require future attention. Battery test was fine and the sensors were cleaned. However, the engine lights still show. I do not feel safe driving my car, given the red solid warning of the brake system and multiple other problems. I am unable to drive car late a night due to the high beam problem, this all poses a safety concern to me and the other drivers on the road.

Purchased new 2019 Honda FIT. Had to have injectors replaced at dealership due to issues at 18,000 miles. At 19,743 miles started having driving issues with unusual jumping during driving/idling. Honda dealership diagnosed as misfire with excessive carbon buildup. Completed carbon cleaning procedure though only temporary repair. American Honda reviewing matter reference #4411584. Issues returned at 40,308 miles with same issues ( all lights going off on dash, carbon buildup in injectors). completed carbon cleaning at dealership. At 44,831 same lights went off again, carbon buildup seen, faulty injectors replaced at dealership. Issues continued at 56,649 where carbon cleaning took place again for issue at dealership. at 86,606 check engine lights returned with jumping, faulty injectors replaced again and a cleaning was performed at dealership. at 113,791 miles, issues came up again. Dealership cleaned again with carbon cleaner. American Honda contacted again after last dealership visit #15755510 with American Honda rep stating there is no solution at this point per Honda engineers.

Vehicle has less than 16k miles over 6 years of ownership. One day, upon starting the car, multiple warning lights, including check engine light, appeared. Dealer stated after diagnostic that issue is due to misfire in one cylinder due to carbon buildup. This is a known issue with this model, and several repair bulletins have been made about this specific issue. Certain VINs were given an extended warranty to fix this problem, but despite having this exact issue and my VIN being mentioned in the repair bulletin, my car is not covered, forcing me to pay out of pocket for this known issue. Car is deemed not safe to drive by dealer until issue is remedied.

White paint is peeling badly and causing body of vehicle to corrode and rust. It is primary occurring on the roof of the vehicle, where the white paint is peeling off in sheets. I have reported this to Honda corporate through their customer service phone number. I have also made Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg aware of the problem. There was a previous recall for identical peeling white paint issues that was extended to cover 2018 white Honda Fit vehicles, but the 2019 white paint clearly has the same issue. The paint is defective and leads to significant premature body damage.

Started the car this morning and received 5 warning messages: Auto High-Beam Problem Road Departure Mitigation System Problem Collision Mitigation System Problem Lane Keeping Assist Problem Adaptive Cruise Control Problem Car has ~34,000 miles and is in pristine condition. My vehicle has difficulty starting and sometimes won't even start at all, the motor is irregular/jumpy, and the check engine light and steering wheel light have come on. After getting a diagnostics run at AutoZone the computer indicates it's a fuel pump issue. A second opinion with a mechanic also confirmed it was the fuel pump. After further research I see that the 2019 Honda Fit had a recall for Fuel Pumps. However, my specific VIN does not qualify for a recall. Honda needs to further investigate and expand the number of vehicles that were affected by this faulty fuel pump. I've been left stranded numerous times and fear that the vehicle may stall while driving, putting myself and other drivers on the road at risk.

The fuel pump is malfunctioning. The car struggles to start and when it does start the engine is erratic and the check engine light and steering wheel light come one. I’ve taken the car to AutoZone for a diagnostic test and the computer showed it was a fuel pump issue. I got a second opinion with a mechanic who confirmed the same thing. The odomoter gauge flickers and freezed quite often. Sometime it goes blank. I cannot reset odometer after oil change or see the mileage. It was less frequent a year ago, but now is more frequent. The check engine light came on. The vehicle was shaking/sputtering when idling. We took it into the dealership and they said we needed to replace the fuel injectors, despite the vehicle not even having 60,000 miles on it.

My fuel/mileage dashboard goes off and on, clustering. It started last year and now happens almost everyday. Asked the dealer about issue since I believe it’s a safety concern and my car is still under warranty for 80,000. Since my car is almost to the miles they want me to pay to check it.

All warning lights cycle through on vehicle dashboard after turning on vehicle. Vehicle was taken to Honda Auto Service Center, where issue is diagnosed as Carbon Buildup, causing misfires. Error Diagnostic Code is one of P0300 - P0304. After maintenance, error clears out. However, there is a Honda Service Bulletin 23-042 which provides a warranty extension for Honda Fits of the same year, make, and model with the same issue, which my vehicle's VIN was not included as eligible. Issue of carbon buildup causing misfires may apply to other VIN ranges than in that bulletin, as accounted by NHTSA ID #11462041, #11490506, #11549767, and #11593466

Dear NHTSA, I am submitting a complaint regarding unsafe vehicle service practices by Indy Honda, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. On December 8, 2023, I had my 2019 Honda Fit serviced at their dealership, including an oil change. On [XXX], while traveling on the interstate in Kentucky, my vehicle suddenly experienced a catastrophic engine failure. The vehicle’s lights illuminated without warning, followed by loud popping sounds, and it began smoking. As I slowed down to pull over to the side of the road, the car swerved and stalled. After investigation by Fidelity Warranty and a certified Honda dealership, it was determined that the engine failure was caused by an improperly tightened drain plug and crush washer, leading to a complete loss of engine lubrication. Despite providing substantial evidence and attempting to resolve the matter, Indy Honda has refused to take responsibility for the damages. This failure created a hazardous situation while driving at high speeds on the interstate, posing significant risks to my safety. I kindly request that the NHTSA investigate Indy Honda’s servicing practices and take appropriate action to prevent similar safety risks for other consumers. Right side dashboard display showing *gas gauge, time, *temperature, *odometer, trip mileage, gas efficiency, etc. usually displays blank and may occasionally reappear with certain temperatures briefly. Lack of this information could cause me to run out of gas or be unprepared for freezing road temperatures. As I am a single, mobility-limited, elderly woman, this is a huge safety problem. Available for inspection. Dealer acknowledges problem is common for Honda Fits. Advised it will cost several hundred to fix, which is not feasible as I am on social security. Problem appeared around 18 months after purchasing new. No repairs have been made.

Recall 23V-858 issued nearly 1 year ago. Honda notified that parts were available to those not currently experiencing direct fuel pump issues in September of 2024. Dealership was contacted in early October, late October, and mid-November but repeatedly claims that parts are not available. Although I was added to a waitlist, no indication of parts availability to remedy the recall has been provided.

Problem Reproduction and Confirmation: The issue was reproduced and confirmed by Swickard Honda of Thousand Oaks during an inspection conducted on August 20, 2024. Inspection Details: The vehicle was inspected by the dealer, who diagnosed the problem and provided a repair quote. The manufacturer has not yet physically inspected the vehicle, nor have insurance representatives or law enforcement been involved. Warning Indicators: Prior to the failure, warning messages appeared on the vehicle’s dashboard, including notifications for ACC, LKAS, and CBWS system failures. These warnings first appeared in early 2024, becoming more frequent and persistent over time. Additional Information: I filed a case with Honda under Case #14932073 requesting a complimentary repair due to the vehicle's age and the nature of the safety system malfunction. Despite explaining the critical safety implications, Honda did not offer a resolution. Given the significant safety risks posed by the malfunction and the lack of resolution from the manufacturer, I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter, as it may represent a broader defect impacting other vehicles of the same make and model.

When it gets cold, the odometer/gas gauge intermittently glitches. It might come back on or it might stay blank. If you cannot read your mileage, you can’t get accurate repair service. If you cannot read your gas gauge, you could break down on the highway because you ran out of gas and did not know it. This problem seems to occur across Honda Fits ranging from 2015-2020 and even Honda CR-Vs from a Google search. A few people have found that it has something to do with loose soldering which leads to improper expansion? This needs to be investigated and covered under a recall. Most people wouldn’t be able to afford thousands of dollars.

We just had the fuel injectors fail for the 2nd time on this car, which has about 85,000 miles on it. The fuel injectors were originally replaced in 2021 by the dealer and have once again failed according to the dealer’s diagnosis. Honda America’s extended warranty for some Fits for this same issue needs to be extended to other model years. It is unreasonable to have to replace fuel injectors twice within this short of a time span.

Odometer/gas gauge screen goes blank or haywire

To whom it may concern, I am seeing a Failing Odometer Display in my 2019 Honda Fit. I've reported to both Dean Honda, and now Washington Honda here in Pennsylvania. Seems to be more prevalent in the morning, lasting anywhere between a few minutes or up to an hour. During this time, I either see just a backlight with Zero Information being Displayed or unidentifiable Hieroglyphics being displayed. I am unable to view Miles/gal, Time, Oil Life, Trip Odometer and the Odometer Reading. Which brings me to my next point, is the mileage actually being calculated while this display is either off or unreadable? Thank you kindly in advance for your time and consideration. It also seems as others are reporting this as well at least on Honda Forums, although there isn't a recall yet that covers this.

The dashboard display that shows fuel gauge, mileage, and maintenance minders glitches. Frequently some components of the numbers and gauges aren't visible, while other times the display is completely blank. An unreliable fuel gauge is a safety issue if fuel runs out and disrupts traffic/causes an accident. Unknown maintenance needs can cause several electrical and mechanical safety issues. This glitch has been occurring for 4-5 months but has gotten more frequent and more persistent in the last several weeks. I have an inspection scheduled with the dealership.

All four fuel injectors have failed. Car only has 42,500 miles. Known issue and recall already in effect for previous years of same make and model

At 50,0341miles, after a routine B1 service (oil change and transmission) the LKAS, Brake system, road departure mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, and auto high beam assist lights all began to turn on every two to three times I turned on my car. These lights will light up on my dash and stay on for the entire drive (with the systems not working). Then they will not be on for a few drives. Then they will go on again. This is an intermittent problem and only happens every other time I start the car (so it appears the camera is “dying” or faulty, not damaged due to negligence.) I have not broken the windshield and have treated this car very well. With this camera breaking, I will lose the safety features included in my car until I can afford to pay the dealership $2000 to fix the camera in the windshield. I will no longer have cruise control (which I can live without), however I am concerned about the loss of the braking system and lane controls. This seems to be a known issue as there are many other Honda owners online dealing with similar issues around the same mileage in their cars with the same years (but many different model cars). Honda had no concern when I reached out to the dealership (who performed the original B1 service), and immediately knew what was wrong when I explained what lights went on, could tell me the cost of a camera replacement, and told me it was nothing they did during the service appointment I had with them. If they are truly having these cameras fail at a high rate at around 40k to 50k miles, it seems to be a larger issue that needs to be observed by the NHTSA. I am happy to have the system failure confirmed by the NHTSA. I have not had this confirmed by the dealership as I cannot honestly afford to do so on a teachers salary at this time. (It is $99 to confirm that the camera is breaking, which we already know is occurring due to the series of lights and current numerous reports online from other Honda owners and dealership).

I went to the Honda dealer shop to fix it. First they changed spark plugs. After one-day driving it happened again. They changed fuel injectors. Then it happened again after one-day driving. I searched the web and found it is a common problem in Honda Fit. Some of 2019 Honda Fit has a extended warranty for fuel injection replacement, but it is not applicable to my car. Feels like there is no problem while driving with those 4 warning lights. But who knows some serious problems or accident will happen because of this problem.

The fuel gauge fails to illuminate when the weather is cold ....faulty instrument design ....unable to know the amount of fuel in the vehicle

Upon starting the car, all warning lights came on as disabled for the ACC/LKAS system and could not be reset by the driver. Mechanic shop stated that the battery was dying, needed replaced then driven 50 miles for the ACC/LKAS system to reset. A few weeks later there was no change. Independent mechanic stated that the error code "U300049 Multipurpose Camera Unit Internal Electronic Failure" was permanent and would need dealership assistance. Dealership stated that the camera system needed replaced and recalibrated to the tune of $1600. I find it extremely hard to believe this system failed by itself, rather was caused by bad design as this was a battery that needed replaced. Safety is at risk as the ACC/LKAS and automatic emergency braking systems were permanently disabled on the vehicle and cannot be used.

Fuel injector is going bad on my car at 80,000 miles causing catalytic converter to go bad based on two check engine codes. Recall done on 2015-2016 models so hoping this could be extended to 2019 as it seems they haven’t fixed the issue

Connected my cellphone and think a hacker is affecting auto systems: alternator not consistently charging (new battery & alternator checked good), lane assist turns off in curves & when wipers on, navigation system frozen on test screen (tried resetting pressing three buttons aslearned on youtube), display of % to next oil change frozen at 70%. Hoping there software upgrades.

I bought this vehicle brand new in February of 2019. The right-hand side dashboard display does not work in cold weather and will eventually function when the interior of the car warms up. The right-hand side dashboard display contains vital safety related information, including the fuel gauge, servicing messages, and the odometer. When researching this issue on the internet, this is a common problem and is costly to repair. My vehicle is no longer under warranty and I do not want to incur the cost of repair. I am asking that a vehicle recall be instituted for 2019 Honda Fits regarding this safety related matter. As an aside, during my first year after purchasing this vehicle, when the vehicle was under warranty, the entire dashboard was flickering off and on and I immediately drove the vehicle to the dealership where I purchased the vehicle. They kept the vehicle for over one week to repair but I incurred no cost for the repair because the vehicle was under warranty. These issues, as indicated above, appear to be systemic safety related concerns and Honda should be mandated to implement a recall so that these issues are repaired by Honda free of charge.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the condition of my vehicle, which I purchased new (0 miles) in June 2018 . I have encountered significant issues with the paint peeling and mold growth in various areas such as trunk, hood, fenders. It is distressing to note that despite regular maintenance and care, the paint has begun to peel off in several places, exposing the underlying surface and compromising the appearance of the vehicle. additionally , the presence of mold poses a health and safety risk, as mold spores can cause respiratory health issues . I believe these issues are indicative defective materials used in the manufacturing process. thank you for your attention

Console display flickers with garbage characters (sometimes) or is blank (most times). This is a safety concern because: 1) a blank display prevents viewing of gas tank level, 2) the TPMS warning light remains lit despite being checked and reset by the dealer, and 3) other warning light states are unknown. This exact issue has been noted by many internet posts, and appears tied to faulty manufacture (cracked solder on display control board.)

Consistently since I bought the car I have warning lights turn on when nothing is wrong with it. At first it started with the tire pressure light and after owning it for 3 years now, over the past two weeks I've had a ton of warning lights turn on and I've had two mechanics look at it and see nothing wrong with the vehicle. After doing some research online, I've learned that I am not the only 2019 Honda Fit owner who has had this happen, and it seems to be happening in a lot of people's cars

Recently the readings on the gauge with my odometer, gas gauge, and oil life will flicker or glitch when the weather is cold. After about 15 minutes the gauge will go blank but will still have the backlight glow to it. It will continue to glitch if I turn the car off and on again quickly but if I let it sit for a while, the gauge is fine when I turn the car back on and until I start driving. I brought it to my dealership and they said this is a known problem with the Hond Fit and the replacement cost for the gauge would be $1000. I feel this is a safety risk because I cannot see my gas level or oil life left when it's off. And I'm not sure if it's affecting the odometer readings.

The small display on the dash that shows, odometer readings, and fuel gage, has started having problems. It will either show nothing at all, or will be a mixed up, unreadable bunch of characters. Looking online this is a fairly common problem with the second generation of Honda Fits 2015 and newer. As this is the overall odometer reading for the car, as well as fuel gauge, and no other way to display that information, this is a big problem.

The paint has begun peeling off the roof of our vehicle after only 45,000 miles and 3 and a half years of ownership. There is no external damage to the vehicle and the paint job is clearly defective. We were given the runaround by our local dealer until the warranty period expired and now are being told it is our responsibility to fix.

This vehicle has not been inspected by dealership, nor insurance. Suddenly all warning lamps(LKAP, RDMP, CMSP, ABP with the Break System) went on. Im just affraid of an accident that could be caused by the failure of the systems. Lamps have been on for at least 4 months. It also had a recall for the fuel system, it was supposed to been taken care at a dealership but now the engine lamp is on as well with fuel emissions system. Yes, this vehicle is available to be inspected at any time. Im just don't feel safe driving it.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Fit. The contact stated that on two separate occasions, the vehicle suddenly accelerated without warning. The first time, the contact stated that while driving at a low rate of speed, the vehicle independently lurched forward without warning before the vehicle corrected itself and resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to a dealer; however, the failure could not be duplicated and no fault was found with the vehicle. A year later while the contact's husband had come to a complete stop at a stop sign; the vehicle's engine began to rev while making a right turn. The vehicle then independently accelerated as the contact's husband attempted to avoid hitting a barrier in the middle of a traffic circle. The contact's husband steered the vehicle off the road and drove the vehicle into some rocks and shrubbery which flattened the front passenger tire and damaged the front end of the vehicle. The air bags did not deploy during the incident and no injuries were reported. A police report was filed and the vehicle was towed back to the dealer. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10, 800.

I have a 2019 Honda Fit Sport. Within the last year, the instrument panel with all notifications regarding the vehicle, such as the fuel level, check engine light, low tire pressure light, low oil pressure, and any notifications regarding the braking systems, began flickering intermittantly. Now the instrument panel is completely blank. This has been confirmed by the Capital Honda in Lansing, Michigan when I took the vehicle in for service. This appears to be a common issue as I found numerous forums online that indicate that this is an issue with multiple years of the Honda Fit, but other Honda models as well. This is a safety issue because if any of these notifications should be on but cannot display because of a faulty instrument panel, I would never know. The car could run out of gas, the brakes could fail or the engine could fail and I would not know until it was too late.

While driving the emission system problem warning came up on my dash with the check engine light. After this happened it became incredibly hard to accelerate the engine. I was driving on the freeway and attempting to merge putting my life and my families at risk because the engine was trying to accelerate but sputtering and stopping for a moment instead. It hasn’t been inspected by police, but went to dealer and got code P219A and was told this was a faulty fuel injector. This was the first time this had happened and no other warning lights came on before the emission system problem that popped up on the dash.

The rear left seatbelt is frayed where it meets the interior wall of the car behind the rear passenger door. This seat has never been used by any passengers that I can recall and only happened to notice it while cleaning. It was inspected by a Honda dealer and was advised it was not covered under warranty as it was usual wear and tear despite it never being used. After looking online, others have experienced the same issue on the same side of the rear passenger seat with third generation (2015+) Honda Fit vehicles. Since it is not being used, it is available to be inspected prior to replacing the defective seat belt.

My 2019 honda fit only has 61k miles. I was driving on the freeway and the fuel pump went it almost cause to get into an accident lost of power to the engine drastically slowed me down. Got a scanner to scan the problem and the fuel pump came out as the error code. I bought my car brand new. The pump shouldn't of gave out so soon

The paint is peeling on the hood of the car between the moon roof and the windshield. There may be more minor paint peeling on the rear hood closer to the hatchback.

When taken to mechanic it was found the fuel injectors need to be replaced. Vehicle was purchased from dealership with this issue occurring only 8 days after purchase and is not covered by warranty.

Fuel injectors failed after 40,000 miles, not covered under powertrain warranty. Honda Fits have a history of defective fuel injectors with TSBs issued years later. Car is no longer running emissions complaint. Honda denied any warranty goodwill coverage

Dealer put new batteries in remote (second new set) low battery alert 2 hours later, remote failure. passed diagnostic scan. (southern honda, Savannah GA) Since then the info-system I believe to be hacked. I found vin number and other "computer" listings in vehicle including wi-fi enable, phone numbers not belonging to me, web sites, etc, I was able to remove and I reset to factory settings twice. The Honda link has now activated itself, selections "grayed out" (I always used apple/car play honda link was never used. My I phone was then hacked, hackers have complete control remotely over the phone live time, able to see screen and make changes. I am now in atlanta, I contacted dealership here where the vehicle was purchased. I also asked for the Honda Link to be turned off and if needed to please turn off/disconnect the system for safety if they are unable to remove/install "non hacking software?". Was told Honda link was not activtated, and I would be responsible for repair charges "if determined not covered under my warranty. Auto is not safe to drive, I do not have finances to pay for repairs, was unable to leave the car. Informed dealership that I looked up Honda link and activation/deactivation requires app/account which I never had nor do I know how to do. Technician indicated he did not know what I was talking about. I need assistance. I cannot receive e-mail hackers intercept

There's an electrical defect on the 2019 Honda Fit dashboard. The Electrical part of the dashboard that shows the Odometer, fuel level, speed and temp glitches, especially when cold. I bought my vehicle in March of 2022 form a Honda Dealership. It happened a few times towards the end of the 2022 when it became cold in Los Angeles. But as its been cold the first few months of this year, it has happened much more often. It glitches (see attached image.) and sometimes does not come on at all (see attached Photo) This is a safety hazard as I can not see how much fuel I have left in the vehicle. My car is just passed my 1 year dealership warranty. There are many forums online of others reporting the same thing, that priced the repair at $1100. I filed a complaint with Honda, but the costumer service with the repair department said there aren't other records with them- that this is an issue which is false as I have found 100s of owners online complaining online, asking about what to do about it.

Intermittent problem with gas gauge going totally blue with no display of information. No prior problems. Recently started and have not been to dealer about it. To date, has not lasted more than 20 minutes before returning to normal, with all info displayed. Without that gauge, the possibility of running out of gas on interstate or other busy road is highly likely and very dangerous. Usually happen when I start car. There is no warning.

All 4 of my fuel injectors were faulty even though I only had 61,000 miles on my car. All were and had to be replaced before further damage was done or before my safety was compromised further.

The multi information display which includes the gas gauge, odometer, and repair reminders began having problems around September 2022. The display would blink on and off, sometimes go completely blank or sometimes show jumbled characters. When I first noticed this the weather was extremely hot. Later in the fall, when it began to get cold, it would not work normally until the temperature rose above 30 or so. I consider this a safety issue mainly because of the gas gauge not being visible. The solution by Honda was to replace it but because my car was just out of warranty, it was going to cost over $1100. The dealer confirmed that they had seen the problem before and asked Honda about paying for the repair. Honda only agreed to pay half of it.

The contact stated that while refueling the vehicle, he stepped away from the vehicle then returned and noticed that fuel had splattered out of the fuel tank filler neck. The contact then stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated however, after driving a half mile, the check engine warning light turned off. The contact was concerned that the vehicle was designed to drain the extra fuel but failed to operate as designed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that fuel had entered the canister and the charcoal filter and the canister needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 17,081.

There is an electrical problem with the electronic display used for the fuel gauge, odometer, and driving range indication. The safety concern is running out of gas while in a hazardous location on the road. I believe the problem has been around for at least two years. It only happens when the car is cold. The display is restored at some point after the car is warm. I have always assumed it was a loose connection that I would get charged a lot of money to fix. Some posts online indicate this problem does exist with others. One suggestion was even that it had to do with soldering and therefore would be an expensive repair to replace at least one part. If this is really a recognized problem, it would be nice if Honda would do a recall of whatever is faulty. For now I am just living with it and hoping it won't fail all together.

When the vehicle is cold (in the 4 years I have owned this car-bought new), this month is the first incidence this has occurred (Three times so far) The fuel gage, trip meter, odometer, clock and MPG display will show gibberish when the car is first started and then either keep the gibberish or then show nothing. When the car is warmed up, the gage operates as normal. The speedometer thankfully is not affected. Nor is the tachometer affected. While most of the gages being intermittently out is more of an annoyance, I'd REALLY like to know how much fuel I have, especially as the odometer/trip meter likewise die. I live in Louisiana. This problem would be a real concern in a more northern state. Everything I've read consistently stated that the problem was due to soldering developing cracks due to repeated expansion/contraction due to heat/cold. That in turn causes intermittent failure in cold weather.

The electronic odometer and audio control displays will blink on and off, or will display gibberish. The odometer display shows the gas gauge, which if not properly displayed, the car could run out of gas when driving. The audio display shows the car's performance.

Engine light came on and it was brought to the dealership and I was told all fuel injectors need to be replaced and it wouldn't be under warranty. The car has 65,000 miles on which is just over warranty, but I should still not have had to replace these yet. There have been other problems with the fuel system with the fuel pump recall and they have extended the warranty on fuel injectors in other Honda vehicles, which leads me to believe this is a greater problem than just my car and it should still be covered by Honda.

Multiple warning lights come on and won't turn off. We have taken to be repaired twice at a non-Honda repair shop. No issues with any of the sensors could be found and everything was reset. We just picked up our car for the second incident on 10/28 and now on 10/31 it has happened for the third time. This seems very unsafe as I am not sure if the safety features will work properly of if it will have a major malfunction while driving and possibly cause an accident.

November 2021 vehicle exhibits rough idle, multiple dashboard warning lights/messages come on with mileage at approximately 13,000 miles. Driver feels unsafe operating vehicle, concerned about engine stall during highway driving. Dealer service center performs intake valve cleaning of carbon buildup and update to software under warranty. Within twelve months, October 2022, vehicle exhibits similar rough idle, multiple dashboard warning lights/messages come on with mileage at approximately 20,000 miles. Driver feels unsafe operating vehicle, concerned about engine stall during highway driving. Dealer service initiated again.

The display has stopped functioning in cold weather. The odometer, fuel level, and lights on dash fail to work during cold weather. This is a safety hazard and prevents the driver from being able to monitor fuel levels. This has been happening since 20k miles. A quick search online has shown that this is a common problem amongst Honda Fits and it should be a recall. I have even reached out to dealerships and they are also aware of the problem. Honda needs to take responsibility and see that this gets fixed.

4 warning lights appeared 10/11/2022 (VSA, Engine, EPS and TPMS) The next day a local mechanic found code PO302. Misfire on cylinder no 2. Recommended take car to dealer for warranty work related to fuel injectors. Honda dealer found same code PO302 on 10/18/22 and instructed car needs a Walnut Blast, $700, not covered by extended powertrain warranty. The Honda Fit is known to have problems with fuel injectors, is at risk for stalling and the repair should be covered under the warranty.

My Fit was purchased in May of 2019. On October 2022, all warning lights (tpms, check engine, lane assist, etc) suddenly turned on when the vehicle was turned on. The car was taken to the same Honda dealer where it purchased and the service department determined the problem to be a cylinder misfire (P0303, cylinder #3). Since I immediately took the vehicle to be serviced, I was able to avoid a likely engine stall that other Fit owners have been experiencing. My vehicle has had all of its required and recommended maintenance performed on time at the same Honda dealer where it was purchased, including replacing the fuel pump at 15k miles and performing decarb service at 20k miles. Even though my Fit was maintained to the exact specifications Honda required, the car still had this fuel system failure which the service department was unable to explain nor were they willing to comp despite having an extended warranty (also purchased at dealer). This error code is the same problem that triggered a service bulletin on all previous model years which Honda covered but has not done so for this model year. I spoke with Honda Customer Service department (1-800-999-1009, option 1, 6, 5) and their warranty department but neither were willing to help because it was beyond the 3yr/36k coverage and was not covered by the extended warranty.

The manufacturer was contacted but the contact had not received a call back. The failure mileage was 10,649.

July 21, 2022: Honda Fit would not start while away from home. It was taken to a repair shop for a few days but staff couldn't find a cause. It was able to start later on. August 1, 2022: Honda Fit quit functioning while in rush hour traffic. Breaks locked and I was unable to safely pull over. Had to drive into a hilly area while in neutral in order to stop car. In both incidents there was no prior notification from the car to indicate an issue.

Fuel Injector failure in under 35,000... There is a misfire from one of the fuel injectors leading to a replacement of the entire system.

The cluster doesn’t light up and the speedometer and tachometer don’t work as well. Check engine Code U0155 which one of these parts that could potentially fall under this code had been replaced under warranty.

Fuel Gauge Cluster fails in weather sometimes outside of weather conditions and will glitch out causing an inability to see mileage and fuel amount.

The contact stated that while pulling into an intersection at approximately 10-15 MPH, a vehicle from the passenger’s side crashed into his vehicle while in the intersection. The contact stated that his vehicle was pushed into another lane causing him to crash into another vehicle with the front of his vehicle. The contact stated that the airbags did not deploy. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that there was severe damage to the passenger’s side and front of the vehicle. The contact stated that medical attention was not needed for anyone in either of the three 3 vehicles involved in the crash. A police report was filed. The contact stated that he attempted to drive the vehicle back to his residence 2 blocks away, but the vehicle shut-off and failed to restart. The contact stated that he then placed the vehicle in neutral and pushed the vehicle to his residence where it remained. The contact stated that he had not contacted the dealer or an independent mechanic; however, the insurance company’s accident adjuster provided an appraisal on the vehicle. The contact stated that he was advised by the insurance company that the vehicle was not totaled and would be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated he did contact the manufacturer and was informed he would receive a call back. The approximate failure mileage was 9,800.

10 August 2021 - Fuel pump fixed due to a recall. 19 October 2021 - digital gas/mileage went blank. Took my car to the dealership and they removed the fuel pump and put it back. Dealership said it was fixed. 21 October 2021 - digital/gas mileage issue again 22 October 2021- took it back to dealership. My car only has 19, 500 miles on it.

Undercarriage engine splash shield was hanging loose after getting Honda service. Took it back to dealer and 2 plastic screw put it right. A few days later the front of this shield is now hanging from my car scraping the road. It's Labor day weekend. I am afraid this is going to fall off and hit a car behind me. I googled this and it has been an ongoing problem since at least 2015. There were no warning lamps, messages to let me know. I did not hit anything or go into any road debris. It happened on the highway at regular highway speed. This is very concerning to me. I cannot safely drive my car until shops open on Tuesday. It's Saturday.

The Towed Battery Charger Plus (TBC+) manufactured by RVIBrake.com (DBA: Danco) of Castle Rock, CO 80109, was installed on our Honda Fit, prior to a vacation in May 2021. While heading back to our home in Florida on July 11 2021, on Interstate 84 near Matamoras, PA, we started smelling burnt plastic. We pulled off the highway and noticed the burnt smell coming from under our hood. Upon opening the hood we could see the TBC+ smoldering. The result of this aftermarket component (TBC+) failing caused an under hood fire, which melted plastic components on the Honda Fit. This TBC+ also shorted, resulting in sending excess voltage and current to the electrical components on the Honda fit. This resulted in our alternator failing. As it is a fire hazard, I would like all TBC+ modules manufactured by RVIBrake.com to be recalled and all owners of this module get compensated for any expenses resulting from this device.

We brought the car in for the recall. The day before the check engine/emissions light came on. The dealer says that the charcoal canister has gas, oil and water in it, and that it is not covered by the warranty, They also will not replace the fuel pump. Our car is garaged, never been in an accident, not driven through deep water. Please help.

The vehicle started to bounce and accelerated on its own while making a left turn and was not responding to brakes to slow down and kept going faster and faster. The vehicle was only responding to steering. The car went up a curb into a yard, heading to a house , which was avoided by steering to the driveway and hit a parked car, then proceeded to a car parked on the street, then continued across the street and struck a truck facing the opposite way, which bounced the car into a yard and hit a tree which bounced it back and finally stopped by a electrical line. 4 collisions and no airbag. Because it was 4;45am in a neighborhood street, no one was injured. The car is totaled by the body shop and insurance company is not willing to pursue with manufacturer. The spontaneous acceleration, brakes and airbags are major safety failures. If this was any other time of day or on other busy streets, the outcome could be much worse. I read online that there was a software issue with this vehicle for acceleration in Japan and others who have had this problem here in the US. I would like this investigated and reported.

Random occurrences of CHECK FUEL CAP pop up on the R-hand indicator panel with no root cause. I've opened/closed the fuel cap until it clicks 3 times and start/stop the car 3x times but the alert will not stop appearing in the panel. When the alert occurs - it blinks and removes other important information in the panel, and is a nuisance when driving late at night. This has occurred over several tanks of gas and outdoor temperatures.

July 2020 Multiple check engine lights came on. Misfire code P0304 and P0302 for cylinder 4 at 32,491 miles. Dealership replaced fuel injectors on 07/16/20. five days and 562 miles later same issue occurred again. Back to dealership which found same codes and issues. Dealership perform decarb on system. 10/16/20 On a trip, same issue occurred so took to different Honda Dealership with only 1,000 miles driven since last issue. Same codes and same lights. This dealership stated misfire on all cylinders. They cleaned all cylinders of carbon. Cleaning lasted 10,000 miles and lights came back on 07/02/21. Had to wait to get service appointment at dealership on 07/09/21. Same lights and same misfire codes. Dealership states over 3 years/36,000 mile warranty now so not covered. Now states needs to be decarbed and all 4 fuel injectors replaced at my expense. My issue is it was under warranty when issue first occurred. Even after parts were replaced, new parts did not solve the issue. The new parts should have been warrantied for 1year/12,000 miles and they did not last that long.

SAFETY ISSUE: Today while towing the Honda Fit behind our Thor Gemini on Interstate 84 in Pennsylvania, I smelled a strong order of burned plastic. When I pulled over to the nearest rest area to investigate, I noticed the smell was emanating from the hood of my Honda Fit. I have pictures that show what I found when I opened the hood (Towed battery charger unit melted). Sadly, the fuse that is on this this device did not blow. Even worse, is my Honda Fit is now dead. I have no power to the car at all. The ignition, lights, horn, door alarms no longer work. If I hadn’t pulled over when I did, I fear that the Towed Battery Charger Plus would have set my Honda Fit and Thor RV on fire. Sent email to dealer/manufacture; RVIBrake. Also called their phone number and left a message. At this time dealer has not responded. Part is available for inspection. Part has not yet been inspected by manufacturer, police or insurance company. There was no warning lamp, message or other symptom of the problem. Problem was only noticed because I smelled burning plastic and stopped vehicle to investigate.

I was sent a letter with respect to the recall of certain Honda vehicles and mine was included. I called Galpin Honda in Mission Hills to make an appointment which was scheduled for June 15 (tomorrow) at 2:30 and it was cancelled two days after I made the appointment because I was told the part had not come in. I received a text message AND an email today confirming my appointment and I emailed Galpin back to advise them the appointment had been canceled. I am still waiting for a second letter that Galpin told me I would be receiving and to advise me when the part would arrive so I can take my car in for the repair.

LCD gauge cluster including odometer, fuel level, and hazard warnings will go haywire displaying strange characters. The lcd display then flashes on and off and goes out completely displaying no vehicle information.

On May 22, 2021 I received a letter from Honda to advise me of a recall regarding my 2019 Honda Fit's fuel pump. I am leasing said automobile which lease expires in October, 2022. I tried making an appointment for June 15, 2021 at 2:30PM to have the fuel pump repaired only to receive a voicemail about an hour later from someone at Galpin Honda in Mission Hills (where I am leasing my car from) who said something to the effect that Honda was unable to repair my car because they don't have the parts to replace the fuel pump. I was told I would be receiving a second letter (I was not told when nor what the second letter would consist of).

I TOOK CAR IN FOR SNOW TIRE CHANGE OVER AND THE TIRE SHOP SAID CAR NEED ALIGNMENT DONE, BECAUSE THE TIRE WEAR WAS CONSISTENT OUT ALIGNMENT, THE NEXT DAY I TOOK ALIGNMENT SHOP, AFTER THEY ALIGN THE CAR, THEY ASK ME IF THE CAR WAS EVER IN CRASH, WHICH I STATE NO BECAUSE IT WAS NOT. CAR NOT BUT IT OVERDUE ALIGNMENT BECAUSE HAD ABOUT 17,000 MILES ON IT, THE REAR AXLE WAS OUT ALIGNMENT AND THEY SAID CANNOT BE ALIGN. SO, I CALL HONDA OF AMERICA AND THEY HAD ME TAKE TO DEALER TO VERIFY, WHICH AFTER VERIFYING IN ALIGNMENT. I DROVE BACK THE TIRE SHOP THEY REAR MEASURE AGAIN AND THE REAR STILL OUT ALIGNMENT. HOWEVER, THE TOE ONE THE RIGHT REAR HAD CHANGE FROM 3 DAYS OF NORMAL FORM -0.02 DEGREES TO +0.09 DEGREE DIFFERENT OF .11 DEGREE AND LEFT REAR MOVE IN TOE ABOUT .04 DEGREE. THE TIRE REPAIR SHOP DID QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH SAY THESE CARS HAVE HABIT FLEX AND TWISTING THE REAR AXLE. I HAVE BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN JULY 2020, ASK DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND WHAT BECAUSE THEY SAID IT FROM DRIVING IN CONNECTICUT AND NEW ENGLAND AKA POTHOLE AND BUMPS IN THE ROAD FROM NORMAL DRIVING. PLEASE NOTE THE DEALERSHIP USED ALIGNMENT MEASURE DEVICE YOU DRIVE THRU WHILE THE TIRE SHOP USED A LIFT AND MIRROR AND LASERS TO MEASURE. I BELIEVE INCREASE TIRE WEAR IN BACK WILL BE PROBLEM AND LOWER OVER THE CONTROLS OF THE VEHICLE AS WHEEL NOT TRACKING RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD. I BELIEVE THE REAR AXLE IN UNDERSIZE FOR THE CAR OR HAS FLAW IN THE METAL THAT USED THE BUILD THE CARS. I WOULD UP THE REPORT, BUT THEY CONTAIN VIN NUMBER.

WHEN STARTING VEHICLE THE VEHICLE WILL MISS FIRE CAUSING ALL WARNING LIGHTS TO COME ON THE DASH BOARD. THE FIRST FIX INCLUDED NEW FUEL INJECTORS. IT THEN HAPPENED AGAIN A FEW MONTHS LATER, THIS TIME A DIFFERENT ONE MISFIRED. NO LONG TERM SOLUTION FOUND AT THIS POINT TO THE PROBLEM.

CAR IS UNDER RECALL TO REPLACE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE FIRST DEALERSHIP I CALLED, CASTLE HONDA IN MORTON GROVE, IL, TOLD ME THEY WOULD NEED TO INSPECT THE CAR FIRST BEFORE ORDERING THE PART AND WOULD ONLY REPLACE IT IF IT WAS DAMAGED. I ARGUED THAT THAT WAS NOT WHAT THE RECALL NOTICE SAID THEY WOULD DO, BUT THE REP INSISTED THEY WOULD NEED TO INSPECT THE CAR AND IT MIGHT NOT NEED REPAIR. I CALLED A SECOND DEALERSHIP AND THEY IMMEDIATELY SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE REPAIR. (MY COMPLAINT IS WITH THE CASTLE HONDA DEALERSHIP, NOT WITH AMERICAN HONDA).

I PURCHASED MY NEW VEHICLE FEBRUARY 2020. THESE ARE MY ELECTRONIC VEHICLE ISSUES: 1) MY BATTERY DIES WHEN LEFT FOR SEVERAL HOURS WITH NO ELECTRONICS LEFT ON AND NO AFTER MARKET ADD ON EQUIPMENT. 2) ELECTRONIC DISPLAY LOOSES TOUCH FUNCTIONALITY. BATTERY DISCONNECT RESTORES. 3) RADIO PRESETS CHANGE TO CHANNELS I WOULD NOT SELECT. I THINK A HACKER HAS COMPROMISED THE GPS OR CELLULAR PHONE FACTORY POWER/CONNECT ATTACHMENT. THESE ISSUE STOP WHEN THE VEHICLE LOOSES VIEW OF THE SKY. IE., METAL ROOF GARAGE. ATTACHED VOLT METER AND VEHICLE HAS SEVERE ELECTRICAL DRAIN FOR NORMAL 14.4 TO 12.2 VOLTS. THIS IS VARIABLE AND UNRELATED TO HEAVY POWER DRAINING EQUIPMENT LIKE "REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER." ELECTRICAL SYSTEM NORMALLY DROPS MOMENTARILY DURING FACTORY EQUIPMENT INITIAL TURN ON BUT QUICKLY RETURNS TO 14.4 VOLTS.AT VARIOUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING, SYSTEM VOLTAGE WILL REMAIN AT 12.2 VOLTS WITH NO USER ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT CHANGE. WE HAVE OWNED THE 2019 FIT FOR JUST OVER A YEAR NOW. IT WAS A JOY TO DRIVE WHEN WE FIRST GOT IT.. A FEW MONTHS AGO IT STARTED DRIFTING SIDE TO SIDE.. MOST NOTICEABLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP IT TRACKING STRAIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY ANYMORE. IT STARTS TO GO LEFT, AND JUST A SLIGHT STEER TO RIGHT OVERCORRECTS AND THEN IT'S GOING TOO FAR TO THE RIGHT, THEN AGAIN BACK TO THE LEFT. I AM CONSTANTLY BOUNCING BETWEEN THE LANE GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. ALSO THE LANE ASSIST WON'T KEEP THE CAR CENTERED ANYMORE EITHER. IT USED TO WORK GREAT! THE HONDA DEALER SAID EVERYTHING LOOKED GOOD AND DROVE FINE FOR THEM.. STEERING, SUSPENSION, ALIGNMENT, TIRES.. ALL SUPPOSEDLY CHECKS OUT. THIS CAR IS NOW VERY TIRING TO DRIVE AND JUST PLAIN UNSAFE AT THIS POINT. I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO FROM HERE. IT'S JUST OVER 21K MILES.

MILLER HONDA, MY DEALER GOT A NOTICE OF RECALL ON 5/29/2020 FOR IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL DEFECT IN MY MODEL OF CAR"FUEL PUMP MODULE IMPELLERS MAY ABSORB EXCESSIVE FUEL AND DEFORM CAUSING CAR TO STOP WHILE IN MOTION CAUSING A CAR CRASH. ALSO, WILL FAIL INSPECTION. PARTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE THEY SAY UNTIL POSSIBLY END OF SUMMER. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I WANT TO RETURN THE CAR AND MY MONEY REFUNDED BY HONDA MOTORS ON THE LEASE I'VE BEEN PAYING ON. I AM NOT ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR AND I COULD BE KILLED OR KILL SOMEONE ELSE AND MILLER HONDA CANNOT HELP ME. THERE FORE, I WANT TO RETURN MY VEHICLE 2019 HONDA FIT CVT MILEAGE 1,746 MILES. THE AUTO-LOCK FAILS INTERMITTENTLY AFTER EXITING THE FIT WITH THE KEY FOB ON MY PERSON, ENGINE OFF, ALL DOORS SHUT, LEAVING THE CAR'S CONTENTS INSECURE AND AT RISK OF THEFT. THE DEALER AND HONDA AMERICAN AFTER 3 MONTHS DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. THE CONCERN IS FURTHER ESCALATED WHEN CONCEALING LEGAL WEAPONS IN THE VEHICLE.

FUEL INJECTOR FAILURE AT 8770 MILES. ORIGINALLY DEALER BELIEVED IT WAS A CYLINDER MISFIRING AND REPLACED CYLINDER #2. WHEN THE PROBLEM REOCCURRED WITHIN THE SAME MONTH, THEY REPLACED 1 OF THE FUEL INJECTORS.

I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, SLOWING A STOP, WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD. IT FELT LIKE A SUDDEN JOLT WHICH PROPELLED THE CAR OVER THE PARKING SPOT CURB AND INTO A POLL. THIS CAUSED ME TO SLAM MY FOOT EVEN HARDER ON THE BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR. THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS SO ODD THAT IT FELT LIKE THE CAR HAD A MIND OF ITS OWN. I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT CAUSED IT, BUT I CAN SAY WITH CERTAINTY THAT NOTHING WAS TOUCHING THE GAS AS MY FOOT WAS FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE. THE CAR WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY STOPPED WHEN IT SURGED FORWARD.

I WAS DRIVING ON A TWO WAY HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH WITH NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME IN MY LANE. AN INCOMING CAR IN THE OTHER LANE GOING ABOUT 55 OR MORE MPH WAS DRIVING IN THE OTHER LANE. AS THE CAR GOT CLOSER TO MY CAR AND IN THEIR LANE, THE HONDA FIT SENSORS WENT OFF. FIRST, THE BRAKE SIGNAL FLASHED ON THE PANEL AND MADE A LOUD WARNING NOISE. SECONDLY, MY STEERING WHEEL RATTLED. LASTLY, THE CAR STARTED TO BRAKE QUICKLY. LUCKILY, I SOFTLY HIT THE BRAKES AND IT OVERRODE THE SENSOR. IT FELT LIKE IT WAS STARTING TO DO A FULL STOP ON THE HIGHWAY WITH CARS BEHIND ME. THIS HAS HAPPENED A SECOND TIME AT 45 MPH. NOW I HAVE TO TURN OFF THE SENSORS EVERY TIME. I WORRY IT WILL GLITCH AGAIN OR TURN ON AND BRAKE AT A FULL STOP WITHOUT MY CONTROL. THE TURNING SENSORS ALSO ARE MALFUNCTIONING ESPECIALLY AT TURNS. EVEN WHEN YOU ARE IN BETWEEN THE LINES AND GOING SLOW, IT TURNS ON AND SLIDES YOU TOWARDS THE MIDDLE, YELLOW LINE AND TOWARDS ONCOMING TRAFFIC.

2019 HONDA FIT 5DR EX: FLEW OFF ROAD, IT HAD HONDA COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYS, LANE DEPARTURE WARNING, LANE KEEP ASSIST SYS AND ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION, ALL FAILED AND ACCIDENT HAPPENED. VEHICLE IN MOTION TRAVELING 80MPH WHEN LEFT THE ROAD.
