No odometer data on record. Mileage is estimated at ~60,000 mi based on average annual driving. Items marked EST. OVERDUE may already be due — verify service history with the seller. Items marked OVERDUE are confirmed past-due based on vehicle age alone.
MONITORCriticalWater Pump
Service interval: 100,000 mi · Est. ~60,000 mi (no odometer on record)
Schedule Water Pump service before 100,000 mi
Water pump failure causes rapid overheating. If the engine overheats even once, head gasket damage is likely — turning a $400 part into a $3,000+ repair.
EST. OVERDUEHighTransmission Fluid / Service
Service interval: 5 yr · Vehicle age: 5 yr · Past due by age
Service Transmission Fluid / Service immediately — already past the 60,000 mi / 5 yr interval
Degraded transmission fluid destroys clutch packs and solenoids. CVT transmissions are especially sensitive — neglected fluid can result in a $4,000–$8,000 replacement.
EST. OVERDUEHighCoolant Flush
Service interval: 5 yr · Vehicle age: 5 yr · Past due by age
Service Coolant Flush immediately — already past the 100,000 mi / 5 yr interval
Degraded coolant loses corrosion inhibitors and attacks aluminum engine components. Can cause head gasket failure and water pump corrosion.

REPLACED A PROPELLOR SHAFT AT 59,000 MILES 8/23/2025. PAID 859.00. UNAWARE THIS COULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED AND COVORERD BY A MANUFACTURERS WARRANTEE. SIX MONTHS LATER MY MECHANIC(1) AND CAR DEALER(2) RECOMMEND A BODY CONTROL MODULE AND POSSIBLE REAR DIFFERENTIAL REPLACEMENT ESTIMATED BETWEEN 1500-3500. THIS VEHICLE STILL HAS LESS THAN 69000. Despite there being a service update to stop that from happening, we were never informed of the update from Chevy, only once it had happened did they tell us about the update and included it in the repair cost.

My vehicle keeps jerking/stalling/choking but continues to drive. I went to AutZone (01/28/2026) and they ran a check on it. The report states it has to with a Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor and that an Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System Large Leak was detected. I need to know in what direction do I need to go to get assistance in this matter. Do I take to the dealer manufacturer to fix the problem or do I contact a lawyer? I have another complaint that was filed with the NHTSA #11711799 on January 18/19, 2026 and no resolution was made. That complaint is for a problem with the Mass Airflow Sensor pertaining to the fuel system. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

While driving earlier in the day, the car choked twice at different times but continued normally. Later in the evening, I left my carport and while driving down the street the check engine light came on and the car choked again like it wanted to cut off but didn’t. I immediately turned around and went home. Not sure what’s going on. I checked my car manual and it says it might have something to do with the fuel system. I don’t know what steps to take next.

We were involved in a car accident. We ran into the back of a pickup truck that suddenly stopped on the toll road for another car that was in an accident. Our front end of the car was heavily damaged. Our concern is that our air bags did not deploy. With the amount of damage that our car received why did the air bags not deploy. The state trooper the did the report looked into the car and wondered the same thing. I will attach pictures. We are taking into the body shop tomorrow. They said it maybe two weeks before they start on it. The seat belts saved our lives. The air bags did not. We are taking into the body shop tomorrow. There were no warning signs before the accident.

My front collision alert system has stopped working, I have taken it to multiple dealerships within my certified vehicle company. Next, my automatic High beams do not function at all, which is difficult to navigate at night without them. I have tried to update my vehicle and sent it to other dealerships and they cannot figure out what is wrong. And lastly, my lane assistance system is not working either, every time I have tried to reset, nothing has happened. Due to all of these functions not working the automatic high beams, I have had to be extra careful when driving at night. The lane assist system not functioning at all has made driving in compact roadways more difficult. Lastly the front collision alert system not working at all has caused many incidents that could have led to multiple accidents. I have talked to customer service agents, mechanics, and car managers from dealerships and they can't figure it out either. Please help!

Vehicle vibrated when applying the brakes. It started being noticeable when braking at high speeds around January of 2023 and progressively became worse over time. Took it to dealership in January of 2024 to get inspected under warranty. Per dealership, the front brake pads looked brand new (only 21,000 miles on car and no excessive braking) but the rotors were warped and had hot spots on them. It was unclear how the rotors became hot when the brake pads looked brand new, to the point the dealership asked if we had replaced the pads recently. The dealership had no answers as to why the rotors became hot. Per dealer, front rotors had vertical wave lines indicative of excessive heating. They turned the rotors but they still showed hot spots. Rotors were replaced.

blind spot monitor light comes on and off; occurs only on driver side; will occur sporadically - also may occur when left blinker is activated; taken to dealership who states sensor not working and has been an issue with other Chevrolet equinox vehicles over the past several years; extended warranty does not cover it; I am now always needing to look for vehicles to my side as the light is not accurate and there are times when there is a vehicle in my blind spot but the sensor does not activate to warn me; the service bulletin report states: "Correction: if the blind side zone has been found not working properly, apply a piece of aluminum butyl tape to the bottom of the driver side object sensing alert module" ----- QUITE A UNSAFE SOLUTION to an ongoing issue with this vehicle over the past several years. I have already paid for diagnostic test - $188.00; the repair cost is another $598.00 -- unacceptable for an ongoing issue for this vehicle.

When starting the vechile most times the radio will turn on at 75% its max volume. On occassion this will keep the backup camera on and lose all ability to control the infotainment center on the vechile. I also turn my raidio off before I exit the vechile. This occurs when bluetooth connected phone is in car and not in the car. The only fix that has been told to me via the service department is to turn off the vechile and open the drivers door. Cheverlot knows about this issues, which affects more than the 21 equinox, they have not made any effort to correct the issues.

Car would stall suddenly mid intersection or street. There is an active recall for a fuel pump module with no known date of resolution. Fuel Pump Module would not provide adequate gas to the engine. This happened twice to me as I was driving on April 4th 2023. After speaking to Chevy & Dealership, there is not yet a fix to this problem. This car is UNSAFE and needs to be removed from the roads. I traded this car in, because I felt unsafe since Chevy could not help me.

On 2/18/23 our equinox failed to go into park. We couldn’t shut the car off, nor start it back up. Everything electrical was on basically idle mode. ESC - brake control module came across the dash. The dash also kept saying to put the car in park. It wouldn’t go into park. We called for a tow truck to have it taken back to the dealership. When it was taken to the dealership the car was ON. It still wouldn’t shut off. As of 2/21/23 they want $550 for a diagnostics and a dead battery. Of course my battery would die after 2 days of sitting and being on. This is a major safety issue with GM and chevy vehicles. We have 48,653 miles so we’re out of warranty. The dealership didn’t bother to call and ask what happened nor want to listen to what occurred.

Chevy Equinox turned off while in the turn lane. Car would not turn back on. No warning was shown prior to the incident but now there is a solid check engine light. upon googling it seems other chevy's have a fuel pump flow issue causing cars to stall and not turn on. chevy upon inquiring if our equinox has a recall they said no even though other 2021 equinox's have this issue. i believe this is a safety issue, if it is a fuel pump issue how do we know it can't cause the engines to catch fire from improper fueling. this needs to be looked into.

The auto stop start system in my Chevrolet Equinox shuts the engine off at every stop when the ambient temperature is about 60 degrees F or below .when i lift my foot off the brake it cranks up . With a thump . My concern is the half second delay before I can move . The person behind me sees my brake light go out and starts forward. This is the way the system was designerd to operate . The Chevrolet Division of General Motors chose not to install an auto stop start disable pushbutton in my 2021 Chevrolet Equinox Premier . I have no way to disable auto stop start if traffic conditions are such that I consider the engine shutting off at stops is dangerous to me . I have contacted Chevrolet about providing me with a auto stop start disable switch (pushbutton ) . They didn't reply.

When the ambient temperature cooled down to the 70's , The auto stop start system will stop the engine of my 2021 Chevrolet Equinox at every stop light , even driving around in a parking lot. Often it will thump when restarting . If my foot is not firm on the brake , the vehicle wll lurch forward . Several times I have almost been rearended because the engine did not restart quickly . I hate the system . My vehicle does NOT have a auto stop start defeat switch ( pushbutton ) . I'm sure GM would consider my vehicle technically correct. I purchased the vehicle in Feb. 2021. About 3 months after I purchased it, I had a message on my screen that the SD card had been removed and it popped up multiple times. I did what the manual said to do which is to hit the check to remove the message but it still popped up. When I took the car in, I told them about the message and I don’t know what Service did but I no longer came up. About 6 months later it started again multiple times and in addition my radio stopped working and my phone wasn’t connected to my car. Again Service did something to fixed it. I recently started to see the message again and my radio didn’t work again. The station was identified and I could change the station. It said my phone wasn’t connected however, I could bring up my contacts and my recent calls. When I turned my car off and restarted it after I had run my errand I didn’t have any issues except for the message. I took my car in for an oil change and asked the Service to also put the SD card back in again. They told me then that it was either a problem with the programming or the radio needs to be replaced and there’s no recall call on it. Why in the world would I have to pay them to correct the programming or pay for a new radio for a car that isn’t even a 1 1/2 years old yet?

The blue line shows 78 total NHTSA complaints filed over 6 years, with the worst year being 2025 (19 complaints).

The amber reliability line is declining — recent years score around 17/100, lower than earlier in the vehicle's life. This pattern indicates issues are accumulating over time rather than being resolved, which is a concern for used buyers.

The recalls (red dashed lines) were issued in the same year or before complaints peaked, suggesting the manufacturer identified and acted on the defect relatively quickly.

Red dots on the amber line flag 3 years (2022, 2023, 2026) where complaints included crash events — these are the highest-severity incidents in the dataset.
