I am reporting a safety concern involving a 2018 Dodge Journey SE (VIN: [XXX] ) related to a failure in the vehicle’s emissions control system, specifically the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors. On January 13, 2026, the vehicle began producing a strong sulfur or “rotten egg” odor while driving, and shortly afterward the check engine light illuminated. Diagnostic testing revealed trouble code P0420 (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold – Bank 1). This code indicates that the catalytic converter is not properly converting exhaust gases, which can result in increased emissions and potential exposure to exhaust fumes. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram dealership in Maurice, Louisiana, which confirmed that the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors are failing and must be replaced. I replaced the alternator and battery, 3 months later I was told I have an issue with the pcm which was similar with the recall for the same vehicle I drove. My vehicle was not part of the recall. Tbs Recall tv-u87-18

CarMax sold me a vehicle with a Cracked & Leaking Exhaust Manifold & Catylic Converter & its causing Exhaust Fumes to come up inside vehicle & is getting worse as I drive it.

The backup camera displays upside down. Talking to other Dodge owners this seems to be a common problem. I Seema to me this is a defect that has the potential to be a safety hazard because it gives a distorted review

The drivers side active headrest deployed while the vehicle was unoccupied. It is not electronically controlled, so no warning lamps were illuminated. This appears to be a known issue with FCA but they offer no assistance with correcting the known safety defect.

Back up camera failure cutting off and on. Could cause wreck. Dull headlights. Could cause a wreck.Leak in firewall driver floor wet. Could short out electrical system, cause shock, cause a wreck. No accident to report. This is ongoing since purchase in 2023.

There were no incidents, My backup camera was working. And now it’s not . When I go to backup the rear view mirror is somewhat dark making is difficult to see, especially at night.If possible I try no to backup. I received a card from NHTSA about two years ago on this issue possibly due to NHTSA Action Number: EA24003. I am still having this issue and now it is worse. 2 years ago, it started with the driver side window not opening intermittently. Then the door locks would not operate from the driver side controls. Now every window will not open and the driver door is not recognized by the car. When opening or closing the driver door, nothing happens. In the past, if I turned off the car left my key fob in the car and closed the door when it would lock, the horn would sound, and the doors would unlock. When getting out of the car, I would open the door, and the radio display panel would turn off. Now, it stays on with the engine off. Thankfully there is a delay and eventually turns off. It may be the driver's door harness as it can be easily searched on the internet as a faulty product. Again, NHSTA originally approached me two years ago and the issue has not gotten worse. $800 minimum to replace the door harness. Hopefully that fixes it temporarily. Start date given is an estimate on when I received a card from NHSTA on this issue.

I was driving home in the dark and I heard a loud bang pop! It scared me at first I didn't see anything wrong but when I got home to looked I notice the passenger head rest popped out! I am happy that no one was sitting next to me. That could have been so scary. I have uploaded a picture of it not extended out. I was driving 70 mph going home on the interstate. No accident nothing. I have a 2018 Dodge Journey SE with currently 70,000 miles. I'm the second owner & purchased it with only 11,000 miles on it. The front brakes | anti-lock braking system (ABS) experienced failure when I needed to stop the vehicle. I was approaching a 4-way intersection and had the green light ahead of me not knowing that a semi truck was entering the intersection due to other vehicles in left turn lane blocking my view momentarily, when I realized/saw it, immediately I hit brake pedal, the front brakes produced a grinding noise, and grinding was also felt in/on brake pedal. VEHICLE DIDN'T STOP IN TIME, I SKID/SLID DIRECTLY IN THE SEMI'S PATH & INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION ALMOST CRASHING INTO THE FRONT/SIDE OF IT, BEFORE VEHICLE FINALLY STOPPED! GOD SAVED ME FROM WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A TERRIBLE LIFE THREATENING CRASH DUE TO CATASTROPHIC FAILURE! Vehicle has been inspected by local service/repair shop prior to this event/failure for the same exact failure. They said nothing could be determined, located or seen that would indicate why such a failure occurs on and off. ABSOLUTELY ZERO warning indicators of any kind occurred before, during or after failure. Prior to this event and on multiple occasions the same exact failure type has happened, but during a rain storm or after one when the road is still wet thus the reason I took it to shop previously. I only have this one vehicle and rely on it heavily to get myself and kids to and from work and school etc daily. With a catastrophic failure such as this I would hope the manufacturer would step up to ensure these are looked at seriously and correct the issue so it doesn't continue to happen. My VIN is not part of a recall or anything service related to this failure type.

(It buckles into the buckle fine) 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? ANSWER: I cannot have my children or anyone else ride in the back middle seat due to it not locking. If we were in a wreck, the seat belt would not lock. I also cannot put a car seat in the middle. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? ANSWER: I can go get it checked out by a dodge dealer. However, I have read that other people have the same issue. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? ANSWER: The vehicle was repaired after I was hit back in June 2024. I do not believe the seat belt itself was inspected. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? ANSWER: No, there were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms. I noticed it when I was switching my carseat around. I feel this is a major safety issue and it needs to be reported and resolved.

The back up camera intermittently comes on when vehicle in reverse. Sometimes it shows a camera with a line, sometimes an image then it disappears and sometimes the image is hazy or distorted. It is never consistent nor reliable. The rear view mirror cannot be used to its full size because of the image of the failed camera.

10.17.25 Vehicle started making tapping noise under the hood. I wasn’t able to identify the problem. I took it to the dealership and they found noise coming from the transmission and stated possible front pump, but wasn’t for sure. They wanted to do an additional diagnostic after I had already paid $197.27, for 3 more hours at $200 per hour. I took vehicle to another company who found noise was coming from the transmission and stated that the transmission will need to be replaced as they found metal shavings in the pan. They flushed the fluid, replaced the filter, test drove noise went away. They advised that I would make it back to Georgia but definitely suggested to get transmission checked. I made it 107 miles from home when it stalled out in 5 o’clock traffic. I tried to accelerate and but it lost motive power. I tapped the breaks tried again after 2 attempts I was able to get to the right shoulder out of the heavy traffic without incident. I was on the side of the road for 4hrs before an older man pulled up to assist. I had to be pushed 2 exits to a gas station. We added more transmission fluid still no motive power it stalled again. Got it towed to a shop to be checked for 3rd time was told it’s the transmission and as of this morning it has been towed to a 4th shop who handles transmission. In my online search for recalls I noticed the same thing happened with the 2016 Dodge Journey as well. I’ve had this vehicle just over a year. I received it with 42k miles on it, awesome condition, apparently one owner who appears to have taken care of it from the looks of vehicle. No major/minor issues noted. By God’s grace I made it out of heavy traffic safely to the off shoulder which was still frightening as well. I may be the first one to report this issue but it needs to be addressed not only for me but everyone who owns one. Metal shavings inside the transmission is crazy. No warning lights on the dash to show something is wrong.

Stated having coolant issues in 2023. September 2025 Engine light Started blinking and Started running rough at 65 mph. Stopped the vehicle and you could see the whole car shaking from the motor running so rough. Fueled up kept going and it kept doing it. Eventually dying at a stop light and I couldn't get it to fire back up. Ended up needing a tow since it wouldn't stay running. White smoke coming from tailpipe. Cracked cylinder head. $3000 repair with a USED PART.

***Radio system not working properly no longer connecting properly to phone, sounds muffled to the receiver on the other end of call, audio connect is not allowing me to be heard and I got a brand new updated phone! Thinking that was the issue. It wasn’t the phone, there was a precious recall regarding system updates issues, that I saw on here, but I was never notified about it!! *Audio hands free won’t map my iphone, to the car Bluetooth system will not connect at times, ****instrument panel lights are not showing, Radio goes off while driving often, not working properly, *****BACK UP CAMERA NOT WORKING PROPERLY: *Back up camera not working properly, noticed blurry, not able to see properly at night. ****Back up parking assist lines are not as bright and clear when backing up, image is no longer vivid! *Difficulty seeing behind you at night when Backing up, looks like snow on a tv screen ! ***off road system comes on by its self and stays on at times, car is serviced regularly!

THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT COST ABOUT $1000 TO REPLACE (TIMES TWO FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE AS WELL). NOW WE ARE AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AS WE HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHEN THE DRIVERS SEAT HEADREST WILL EXPLODE! The passengers side head rest came apart. It came apart so fast it was like it exploded. It was almost like it had an air bag on the inside of it. I just started the unit in our drive way, went to back out, and it came apart. I tried to reset the head rest but the plastic locking tabs on the inside no longer work. This needs to be a recall!

Power steering leak, started in cold weather. Found other 2018 models have had a recall for the same issue - but my vin is not listed. Yes the vehicle can be inspected. No I’ve not had it looked at, I’ve been refilling the power steering fluid regularly and it leaks out. If the leak persists and the power steering goes completely out while operating it could put myself, passengers and others at risk. No warning lamps. I just noticed the steering was difficult.

I was driving in the vehicle to put gas in, all of the sudden, i heard something snap and felt something hit the back of my head really hard. I felt disoriented as I didn't know what had happened. When I stopped and look at the seat, I noticed that head rest had deployed suddenly without warning and hit the back of my head. There was no accident that should have caused the head rest deployment. I sat there disoriented and started getting a headache and my neck started getting stiff. No accidents

My passenger side headrest popped open while my car was in park today. Randomly deployed. This is beyond unacceptable that something could just happen like a safety feature deploying when not impact provoked.

I purchased a used Toyo tire (model Extensa A/S or 436) from a tire shop in Houston, TX on [XXX]. I was assured it was in good condition, but less than three weeks later, the tire showed severe sidewall cracks, dry rot, and bulging. I was stranded at 1 a.m. due to this failure, and when I inspected the tire myself, I found clear signs of structural damage that should have been caught before the sale. I tried to bring this to the attention of the shop. Instead of a resolution, I was spoken to disrespectfully and hung up on. The owner admitted to giving me a discount because of showing up late to fix the tire, though I never asked for one I simply wanted a safe, working tire. A used tire should still last 1 to 3 years, and this one didn’t last three weeks. This presents a serious road hazard, and I believe this business is knowingly selling unsafe used tires. There is a malfunction in the ABS module and it is so prevalent that it is making it hard to get the new/used part.

Rear veiw mirror camera started coming on late and then completely quit

My back up camera has flipped the view upside down. Sometimes it glitches like static. I have tried different approaches to fix the issue but it continues to be upside down. It also caused me to back into my other car due to it glitching in the process of me backing up by causing me to lose visibility in a split second. It has been like this for years now with no hope of finding a solution. This is a safety issue and should be recalled.

I was entering a highway on the entrance ramp when I was hit in the back of the head by the headrest, with no warning it just burst apart and caused dizziness. I pulled over as I literally felt like I was in a car accident. I continued to feel dizzy and experienced neck and lower back pain. I spoke with my Doctor this morning, and contacted the local Dodge, Chrysler dealer and have an appointment on 5/22.

The backup camera randomly works. When it does work, within minutes it slowly fades from a picture to a black screen.

The following recall was supposedly corrected by my Dodge dealer in Watertown, CT: NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V723000 Manufacturer Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) Components EXTERIOR LIGHTING The headlight lenses were replaced and in 2 years time, the driver side lense is always fogged up and as a result I cannot see at night due to the dimness. I have brought my car to the dealer, and they said to contact FCA, the mfr of the headlight assy., and when I contact them they tell me I need to contact Dodge. No one will help me with this defective assy they installed on the recall

Owner was driving about 40 mph when the headrest popped open. There were no collisions or issues when this happened.

Back up camera goes black

Got my wheels balanced, the technician informed me that all 4 of my rims were warpped. Car leaks coolant and overheats when using heat in cabin.

At first,unknown, All problems are in the Tailgate,of which you cant see while driving. Tailgates are designed to be used. First ,the backup camera went out, then the third brake light went, and you can ONLY SEE when backing up to a Large picture window-also,parking light R/S in tailgate is out. NOW, I asked my granddaughter to open the tailgate when the car is LOCKED, and it OPENS- (Security) I then looked up on YOUTUBE, and found many on how to fix due to BAD WIRING at the hinge. A service repair ticket dated 11/21/24 from Bill Volz in westchester,NY noted immediate attention but did not see the rest items in need of correction. Security- Tailgate not locking Safety- multiple lights not working, Camera out,and windshield wiper /tail occaisionally --All connected

In my journey my back up camera is the mirror not the center one. The thing is my mirror doing the same thing cant even see and idk how. Its all blurry the thing is the mirror looks really good and the camera. Im original owner. Also the cruise control doesn't even work or operate. Its wild how having a vehicle will have so many important things fail. I see Hondas from the 90s and their cruise working, and cars that had their first back up like a 2010 acura zdx I tinted worked like it was brand new still and its still ome for tht owner.

Reflectors are critical for visibility especially when it is foggy outside. While driving on the freeway some of the lights on my dash kit up and all the sudden my car would not go over 15 mph. I tried to turn it off and turn it back on and it continued to do the same thing. I did have my grandkids in the car.

My car stalled and showed the check engine light. I took it to my usual repair shop. The first diagnostics indicated coils and spark plugs were the problem. So they we re fixed. Shortly (a few miles) after the repair, the car stalled. The second diagnostic at the shop indicated a new battery was needed. That was installed. (A few more miles after this repair) the car c ontinued to stall. For the third diagnostic, I was told to take it to a transmission shop.(and "I wouldn't drive it til it was repaired") I had it towed to a transmission shop. They rebuilt the transmission, and found (what I consider the reason for a recall) the flex plate had its center torn out. This may have caused shards to damage parts of the engine. There was a lot of fluid leakage and they had to install a new radiator. They wanted me to have them check it out in 2 weeks. In less than a week the car stalled and died,(thankfully in a parking lot) with all the dashboard warning lights. I was close to a dealer, so I had it towed to the Dodge dealer, hoping they would know how to fix it. There was still a lot of fluid leakage. They replaced the radiator and other stuff, and for the past week or so it is driving well.

While care was parked, daughter (11yo) leaned around passenger seat with her forearm against the left side of the head rest to talk to her mother. Randomly and suddenly the head rest safety mechanism deployed. No one was seriously injured but it did leave a mark on my daughter's arm. Looks like the plastic inside is cracked on the right side where the pin holds the restraining pin that keeps the headrest from deploying. Have not taken yet to the dealer. 1. The power steering system keeps leaking for multiple different locations and is intermittent. The leak is never in the same spot. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2. There is a potential for safety problems with this if someone does not realize what the noise is coming from the vehicle. There is a whining noise that starts but not until there is no fluid in the reservoir. There is also no change in steering ability. If the power steering should lock up, that could cause a potential deadly situation. 3. The problem has been reproduced at an independent shop. 4. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone else but the independent shop. 5. There are no warning lights that come on and no message pop up for low fluid levels. The vehicle makes a whining noise that progressively gets louder but only when there is no fluid in the reservoir. This started about 6 months ago with the intermittent problem. The 2016 Dodge Journey did have a recall for a similar problem like this.

My backup camera doesn’t work at all! Just a black screen. so it doesn’t comply with the law… I can’t see to back up at all. If you google the 2018 journey it says there is a recall on the backup camera but when I put my vin number in it doesn’t pop up as a recall but this needs to be a recall and is very dangerous it hasn’t been inspected but it readily available if h would like to came inspect it. The car will turn systems of the car off and own without anyone touching anything windows rolling up on their, traction turning off, and climate controls and A/C coming on by itself. My back up camera isn't working and none of the locks work with the key fob. I bought my car from a car lot and it was a fleet car and it says all recalls have been fixed but my car hasn't been fixed at all and I don't know why. My car won't even charge my phone at all in either port so it has a big wiring problem. I have kids and grandkids in my car all the time and I can not see behind me because my camera hasn't worked since the day I got it which is 10/20/23 and that is really dangerous and I can't even charge my phone to call someone even if I do have an accident

Car shuddered while driving, started making metal clanging noises’ and stalled in the middle of an intersection. I just had it worked on and had to fully replace the transmission (approximately $4000) due to the torque converter shredded metal in the transmission and seized up. Car after stalling would not go into reverse or drive. Would start up, but once in gear would make loud metal clanging sounds and shut down. No warning lights shown on dashboard.

When dry window, turn windshield wipers on, they jump violently .

When shifting car in Reverse the image on the rearview mirrior for the backup camera was twice inverted. The next day while the car was in reverse the mirror display just consistantly flashed black and white with no real image.

A stall/no start condition situation occurred while driving, and has occurred a few times over the last couple of weeks. I have had the issue checked by a trusted mechanic, and it was suggested that the power control module(pcm) would likely need to be replaced. No warning lamps appeared prior to the problem, but appeared when the stall/no start condition situation occurred. The most recent occurrance of the problem was on Saturday, October 4th, 2023. I located on the NHTSA website that there is a recall listed, NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V524000, for replacement of the pcm. On 11/06/2023 I spoke with Chrysler support, according to them a recalibration of the pcm was done on 01/07/2021, and they will not support replacing the pcm because it has been more than 2 years. According to the customer rep, the unit was just recalibrated, and not replaced, but the remedy in the recall notice states that dealers will replace the powertrain control module, free of charge.

Cylinder misfire. Cylinder leak. Engine damage. Dodge issued Service Bulletin TSB-09-002-14 for model years 2011-2013 for vehicles with the same 3.6L engine and same issue. TSB provided warranty extension for covered models up to model year 2013. My 2018 model year has the same defective engine type and Dodge refuses to repair because the TSB, which predates the manufacturers date for my vehicle, doesn't cover my vehicle.

I have had my radio replaced two times already for defect and now the radio want shut off again and it want allow a phone to connect to it also now the controls to the air flowing system (ac) want shut off and stay off when u push the off button . The headlights in the "auto" position will turn on the headlights and then after 5 or so minutes of driving, the interior dash board will dim and brighten, and then the headlights turn off entirely. If you move them off the "auto" position, the headlights will not turn on even when switched to the headlights. When you switch back to auto, it puts the brights on instead of the standard headlights. Rinse and repeat while driving, lights on/off/then only brights.

While driving car at 45 mph car stalled. Unable to start car. Continued to read service AWD system as well as Press clutch to start car, the car is an automatic with no clutch. Headlight housings leak on both sides of car causing extreme condensation buildup causing poor visibility and causing headlight bulbs to burn out at unpredictable times. Loss of a headlight causing serious vision problems at night. I've had to change headlight bulbs often, problem started in early 2020 and I believe Chrysler/ Dodge should have a recall for their defective headlight housings on this vehicle. The estimated cost to replace their defective housings is well over $1,000.

225 65 R17 bought the car on 03/31/23 and the dealership sold these tires on vehicle. All 4 dry rotted in sidewalls. Big O tires would not even touch them.

Cylinder 2 is misfiring, for coils and spark plugs. Vehicle had tune up and replaced all spark plugs and coils in March. Check engine still coming on reading same code, has been checked multiple times, coils and spark plugs are perfect and brand new.

Both headlights on the vehicle have a major amount of moisture in them. Also, when using the headlights the lights surge. They will get really bright and then dim down the whole time they are being used. The dealership looked at it and said other models of the same car have been recalled for issues with the headlights but mine were not included. I'm not sure how that can be. No warning lights or anything come up when using the headlights. The lights have been collecting moisture for about 9 months and it's gradually getting worse. They have been inspected for cracks that would result in the moisture but there aren't any. I'm not sure if the moisture is causing the headlights to get bright and dim while in use or if that is another issue all together.

Passenger side front seat headrest airbag deployed while driving. The airbag feature deployed while my 13 year old daughter was sitting in the seat. When the safety feature deployed, it hit my child in the back of her head causing pain and injury. This safety feature deployed without warning or cause. The headrest broke when it deployed is now just hanging from the seat.

When backing up, with the sun at the rear, the camera goes to a over exposed or washed out screen. There is no picture and this makes the backup camera worthless and dangerous. Happens every time in reverse with the sun at the rear of the vehicle.

When you are in the vehicle and the vehicle is off or on when you try to lock it to be safe because the keys are in the vehicle it automatically unlocks. I feel very unsafe as I am a single mom of 3. I will get in the vehicle and lock the doors. It will automatically unlock. If I was in an emergency situation where I needed to lock the doors for my safety it would just unlock.

Rear back up camera in the rear view mirror is not functioning correctly. It will go black but illuminate a camera with a line through it. Makes in impossible to use to back up because the light on the mirror makes it extremely difficult to see in the mirror and the camera isn’t working to help either. Also, the passenger airbag light will go in and off even with someone occupying the seat which leads me to believe the airbag will not deploy if if in an accident. the computer has been run and it showed no issues. I know there was a recall to the back up cameras but it says my vehicle wasn’t affected. How do I get this fixed. Both are major safety concerns. This car has 60k miles on it and has been through 3 sets of tires. The tires wear extremely fast on this vehicle and they are 50-60k tires.

There was no indicator flashing light or any message on the vehicle that was indicate there was a issue with the vehicle. The speedometer has been like this since April of 2022. The lighting also but it does it sporadically from time to time.

My wiring harness needs replaced. 3 of my 4 windows would only work sometimes. I was told there was a loose connection but when those wires were held together it got extremely hot very fast, and not to even attempt to use the windows because it could cause a fire. So I took my car to the dealership and they confirmed it is the wiring harness that needs replaced. So a new part has been ordered and I'm scheduled to have that done as soon as it comes in.

Passenger side head rest exploded while driving down the road. This is a huge safety issue and could have caused sever damage. Now I’m afraid the driver side will do the same thing while I’m driving down the road

Rear wheel bearing is bad after only 35,000 miles causing the speed sensor to fail which causes the cruise control to fail. The wheel bearing has also caused extreme wear on the tread of my brand new tires, and the ABS and stability/traction lights to come on in the dash display. I have researched this problem extensively and found that many Dodge Journey owners have experienced the same issues.

I was driving in inclement weather in all wheel drive on the freeway traveling at approximately 50MPH. The rear of the vehicle felt as if it slipped on ice, however it did not change it's course of travel. The issue continued to happen. I turned off the all wheel drive and the issue did not happen again. The vehicle will not pick up speed after starting until the ABS Warning turns on. A mechanic advised the sensor in the Right Rear Axle Assembly is not working and needs to be replaced.

I have a leak in my steering line

Engine shuts off without warning. Driving and all of sudden, engine stops, drop vehicle in neutral and push start and it starts right back. I have been on curvy road, going up steep hill and also on perfectly level road, makes no difference, happens without warning. Dangerous because on hill started rolling back...can't steer on curvy road unless engine running...please check into this before I or someone else gets hurt or killed.

Rear backup camera is severely blurred as to make it impossible to safely see any Cleaning of the lens made no change in the severity of the image. The Carmax dealership in Brooklyn park MN was aware of the issue and notified of the malfunction after a test drive. Their answer was that it was a known issue but there was no effort to fix the problem because it was not listed as a recall issue. My battery or the connection is bad but when I have it tested, they day its perfect. My car dies all the time and even if we charge it all night, my check engine light for poor battery connection stays on.

AFTER PUTTING A FULL TANK OF GAS, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND METER READ GAS TANK EMPTY. VEHICLE STAYED WITH THE DEALERSHIP FOR 8 DAYS FIRST TIME. FUEL PUMP AND WIRES WAS FULLY REPLACED. VEHICLE IS BACK WITH DEALERSHIP FOR A SECOND TIME. THIS TIME THE GAS METER READS LESS THAN 3/4 TANK AS A FULL TANK OF GAS IS PUT INTO THE VEHICLE. RPM STARTS DOING THE SAME THING WHEN THE VEHICLE HITS 50 MPH. WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP FUEL PUMP AND WIRES ARE THE REASON FOR MY VEHICLE BEING IN THE SHOP AGAIN. VEHICLE IS BACK TWICE IN THE SHOP LESS THAN 2 MONTHS. STILL WITHOUT A PROPER WORKING VEHICLE

WHEN SECOND ROW SEATS ARE FOLDED IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION AND SLID FORWARD. THEY DO NOT LOCK IN PLACE. THE SEAT SLAMS FORWARD AND BACKWARDS. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY AND SHOULD BE REPAIRED BEFORE CAUSING A SEVERE INJURY.

THE VEHICLE HAS DIFFICULTY GOING UP HILL. WHEN DECREASE SPEED OR STOPS AND YOU WANT TO STEP UP THE GAS, IT TAKES A LONG WHILE. SOMETIME IT SHAKES WHEN YOU POWER ON. THE COMPUTER FREEZES. LOTS OF HESITATION TO GO OR SOMETIMES IT WAS TO KEEP GOING WHEN YOU ARE AT A STOP.

THE CAR KEPT LOSING POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING AND NO ENGINE LIGHTS WERE POPPING UP TO SHOW THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FIRST 2 TIMES WERE IN REVERSE. THE POWER CUT OFF AND I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL OR BRAKES. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND GO. THE THIRD TIME I WAS GOING FORWARD ON A HIGHWAY. I SLOWED TO TURN ON AND THE POWER CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TURN. I WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL OR BRAKES. LUCKILY I WAS NOT AROUND OTHER VEHICLES AND THE CAR SLOWED TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN GRASS. THIS OCCURRED WITH A YOUNG CHILD IN THE CAR AND IT SCARED BOTH OF US. I WAS ABLE TO THEN START THE CAR AGAIN AND GET IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT THE NEXT DAY. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE WHEN THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THEIR MACHINES. THEY DROVE THE CAR FOR A WEEK AND WERE UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE LAST DAY WHEN THEY TOOK IT FOR ONE MORE DRIVE THE CAR DIED ON THEM IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. THEY HOOKED THE CAR UP AGAIN AND IT SHOWED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG. WHEN THEY CONTACTED CHRYSLER CORPORATION THEY TOLD THEM TO LOOK AT THE ENGINE. THAT IS WHEN THEY FOUND METAL SHARDS AND OTHER THINGS WRONG WITH THE ENGINE. THE CORPORATION HAD KNOWN THAT SOME OF THESE ENGINES WERE FAULTY BUT HAD NOT NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP OR THE CONSUMERS THAT THEY COULD BE DRIVING A CAR WITH A FAULTY ENGINE. THIS WAS MOST DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE AND ESPECIALLY CONCERNING SINCE WE HAD BEEN DRIVING OUR YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE WITH US. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GROUND WIRE FROM THE BATTERY TO THE VEHICLE WAS NOT CONNECTED APPROPRIATELY. A NEW BATTERY WAS INSTALLED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 DODGE JOURNEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT FAILED TO RESTRAIN PROPERLY. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO AVOID A NEAR CRASH. THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT FAILED TO RESTRAIN HER AND CAUSED HER BODY TO SLIP OUT OF THE SEAT BELT AND STRIKE THE DASHBOARD AND FLOOR BOARD. THE CONTACT'S HEAD AND NECK WERE CAUGHT IN THE SEAT BELT SHOULDER STRAP, WHICH CAUSED THE CONTACT'S HEAD TO FEEL ABNORMAL FOR A FEW DAYS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER FOR INSPECTION, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE A FAILURE WITH THE SEAT BELT. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE LEATHER SEAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE SEAT BELT FAILURE. THE SEAT BELT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.

THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL AND THE AXLE FRACTURED AND DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE CONTACT CALLED JOHN L. I HAVE A 2018 DODGE JOURNEY I HAD THE DRIVER SEST RECLINED ALL THE WAY BACK TO VACUUM. I LIFT THE HANDLE TO PUT SEAT UP AND IT FLEW FORWARD HARD. AFTER TURNING ON VEHICLE NOTICED AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. TOOK TO DODGE THEY SAID ITS THE DRIVER HEADREST THE WIRES WERE PULLED OUT AND ACTIVATED AIRBAG LIGHT. THE WARRANTY WONT COVER IT BECAUSE THEY SAID THE WIRES GOT RIPPED OFF FROM SOMEONE INTENTIONALLY PULLING THE SEAT OFF. THE SEATS ARE DANGEROUS AS FAST AS THEY FLIP FORWARD. THERE MUST HAVE BEEN A DEFECT IF THE WIRES GOT UNATTACHED FROM JUST IT SWINGING FORWARD.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN MY BRAND NEW DODGE JOURNEY THAT WAS PURCHASED LESS THAN 2 WEEKS AGO, ALL THE VEHICLES CAME TO A STOP AND WERE STATIONARY. MY CAR INCLUDED WAS STATIONARY OR STOPPED. WHILE WAITING FOR TRAFFIC TO GO, MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED (WAS IN MOTION) AND STARTED TO MOVE FORWARD. MY FOOT WAS STILL ON THE BRAKE WHEN THIS OCCURRED. I CONTINUED TO PUSH DOWN THE BRAKE AS HARD AS I COULD AND PUMP THE BRAKE TO MAKE THE CAR STOP BUT IT FELT LIKE THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD NOT GO DOWN. MY BRAKES DID NOT WORK AND THE VEHICLE IN FRONT ON ME ENDED UP STOPPING MY CAR. I PULLED OVER TO THE LEFT SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY AS MUCH AS I COULD AND PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND CALLED HIGHWAY PATROL. *DT*JB

WHEN IN REVERSE ON A UPWARD SLANT OR STREET OR A HILL THE CAR WILL GO GO FOWARD AS IF DRIVING IN DRIVE POSITION UNTIL YOU STEP ON BRAKE VERY HEAVILY AND QUICKLY PRESS HARD FLOORING THE GAS PEDAL AND EXCELLIARATOR FAST. WHEN PRESSING BRAKE ON A HILL AND ON FLAT SURFACE IF U DONT KEEP FULL PRESSURE ON BRAKE CAR WILL ROLL BACK

TAKATA RECALL. MY VEHICLE BRAKES HAS A PAUSE BETWEEN THEM. WHEN I AM COMING TO A STOP IT TAKE A WHILE TO BREAK. THE BREAKS ARE NOT CONSISTENT THIS IS VERY SCARY, I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY YESTERDAY AND THE BREAKS TOOK A WHILE TO ACTUALLY START BREAKING. THESE BREAKS ARE NOT RIGHT. I WAS TOLD AFTER 500 MILES THE CAR WOULD BREAK IN AND DRIVE BETTER. BUT STILL DRIVING THE SAME. VERY DANGEROUS FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY.

SOME DAYS MY BRAKE PEDAL FEELS MORE FIRM AND WILL STOP ON A DIME THAN OTHERS TIMES IT FEELS SPONGY OR SOFT AND GOES TO THE FLOOR IT DOES STOP THE VEHICLE BUT WHEN IT'S SPONGY IT TAKES LONGER ALMOST AS IF I'M DRIVING A FREIGHT TRAIN AT 60 MILES AN HOUR HIGHWAY IN OR IN TOWN DRIVING AS OF TODAY I DON'T HAVE ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS OTHER THAN THE BRAKES

I THOUGHT THIS VEHICLE CAME WITH A BACK UP CAMERA? I THOUGH IT WAS MANDATORY THAT ALL VEHICLES SOLD AFTER MAY 2018 WILL HAVE A BACK UP CAMERA INSTALLED.

PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE 7/13/2018 AND IT IS NOT EQUIPPED WITH A BACKUP CAMERA. DODGE IS ALSO ADVERTISING THAT THIS IS STANDARD EQUIPMENT ON THE VEHICLE. THEY ALSO DID NOT DISCLOSE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EQUIPPED. AS FAR AS I KNOW ALL VEHICLES ARE TO BE EQUIPPED BY MAY 1, 2018. THIS WAS PURCHASED FROM PEACOCK IN BRUNSWICK, GA

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 DODGE JOURNEY. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD SKID BEFORE STOPPING, WHICH EXTENDED THE BRAKING DISTANCE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER (TROTTER AUTO EL DORADO, 1910 W. HILLSBORO ST, EL DORADO, AR) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.

AFTER PCM AND ECM RECALL REPAIR, BLUETOOTH SYSTEM WOULD NOT CONNECT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, TOUCH SCREEN RADIO MALFUNCTIONING WHILE DRIVING, ECO COLOR DRIVEING TRACKER NOLONGER WORKED, THE ELECTRONIC GAS MILES WAS INCORRECT (EXP: AFTER PUTING GAS IN MILES SHOWED 115 UNTIL EMPTY, DRIVE 7 MILES THE CAR WOULD SHOW 70 MILES TO EMPTY) BOTH WOULD MALFUNCTION WHILE DRIVING HIGHWAY AND CITY. VEHICLE WOULD NOW SHAKE WHEN IDLING AND WAS HESITATE TO START. VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT DEALERSHIP REPAIR SHOP FOR 7 DAYS FOR SECOND REPAIR.

ON 6/4/2018 I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AFTER TAKING IT IN FOR THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS BEING ON AND LOSS OF POWER. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED THEY DID AN UPDATE ON THE POWER CONTROL MODEL AND FIXED A WHEEL SPEED SENSOR. WHILE ON THE FREEWAY ABOUT 9 MILES AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP THE LIGHTS (ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL) CAME BACK ON AND THE RPMS WENT UP. THE VEHICLE WAS IN CRUISE CONTROL AND THE VEHICLE HAD A 5MPH LOSS IN SPEED BUT WENT BACK UP TO 65MPH WITH THE RAISE IN RPMS. WHILE GOING TO EXIT THE FREEWAY AND APPLYING THE BRAKES THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT DISENGAGE. I IMMEDIATELY PLACED THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND PULLED TO THE RIGHT HAND SHOULDE ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO COAST TO A STOP.. AFTER PULLED OVER I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND TURNED THE VEHICLE BACK ON. THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS REMAINED ILLUMINATED. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK AND I ADVISED I WOULD BRING IT BACK IN THE MORNING AND WOULD NOT USE THE CRUISE CONTROL. THIS IS NOW THE SECOND TIME THE VEHICLE WILL BE GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME ISSUES WHICH INCLUDE THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS BEING ILLUMINATED WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS NOT WORKING, LOSS OF POWER AND HIGH RPMS AND BLUETOOTH NOT WORKING (NOT A MAJOR CONCERN). THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THE CRUISE CONTROL HAS FAILED TO DISENGAGE AND ONLY MY FOURTH TIME USING CRUISE CONTROL AS IT IS A NEW VEHICLE AND I DON'T USE IT MUCH ON THE FREEWAY.
