ODI #11742209UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE

My 2023 Dodge Charger SXT with approximately 26,000 miles has experienced multiple incidents where, while turning into traffic or accelerating from a stop, the vehicle loses the ability to continue driving and displays a message instructing me to shift into Park and then Drive. The electronic shifter becomes unresponsive, steering is affected, and I am left stranded in active traffic until I can restart the vehicle. The dealership has inspected the vehicle three times and has not repaired the condition. I have video evidence of the incidents. This is a recurring safety hazard that could result in a collision. Vehicle loses propulsion while turning or accelerating from a stop. Message displays ‘Shift to P then Drive.’ Steering and drivetrain responsiveness affected. Requires restart to regain function. Occurs intermittently in traffic

ODI #11740951POWER TRAIN,ENGINE

The vehicle has experienced repeated failures associated with diagnostic trouble code P06DD. When the condition occurs, the vehicle is unable to exceed approximately 3,500 RPM and experiences engine stalling and loss of power while driving. The issue is intermittent but has occurred repeatedly. The vehicle has been presented to authorized Dodge/Stellantis dealerships on five separate occasions for diagnosis and repair. The oil pump was previously replaced for this issue at approximately 5,000 miles, yet the condition continues to recur. Most recently, the dealership advised that the issue was resolved and returned the vehicle to me. Within approximately 30 minutes of leaving the dealership and driving on the freeway, the check engine light returned and the same stalling and loss-of-power condition immediately reappeared. The defect creates a significant safety concern because the vehicle loses the ability to accelerate normally while operating in traffic and on freeways. When the condition occurs, the vehicle cannot exceed approximately 3,500 RPM stalls while driving, creating a risk of collision. The vehicle currently has approximately 21,000 miles and remains under manufacturer warranty. Despite multiple repair attempts, the defect has not been permanently corrected.

ODI #11728588SERVICE BRAKES

"Between 12,000 and 13,000 miles, the parking brake pedal on my 2023 Dodge Charger began dropping to the floor with no physical resistance. It would fail to engage unless I rocked the vehicle back and forth. During an inspection at 14,000 miles, the dealership discovered the parking brake shoes had completely ground down to bare metal. During this entire period, the vehicle’s active audible safety chime completely failed to warn me of any brake drag while driving. While my specific VIN is not currently included in the manifest, this vehicle make and model has an active Federal Safety Recall (NHTSA Campaign 24V112000) for improperly adjusted parking brakes from the factory. My vehicle is exhibiting the exact mechanical failure described in that recall—an improperly adjusted, overly tight parking brake causing the internal mechanism to stick and drag continuously against the rotor. The manufacturer (Stellantis) and the local dealership (Cutter Dodge) are refusing to inspect the mechanical levers or honor the warranty, falsely claiming it is driver wear-and-tear, despite the active safety sensor failure and my vehicle's identical symptoms to the known federal defect."

The contact owns a 2023 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the “Service Shifter” message was intermittently displayed. While driving 60 MPH, the message was displayed and the vehicle shut off immediately. The vehicle was unable to be driven and was shifted into park. After shifting into park and waiting for several minutes, the contact was able to continue driving. A week later, while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start, and the gear shifter started flashing a red and white light. The contact immediately turned off the vehicle and waited before restarting it. The gear shifter was no longer flashing. Approximately 2 weeks later, while starting the vehicle, the vehicle experienced battery failure. The battery was replaced, and the vehicle started, and the vehicle was driven. After leaving the vehicle parked for a while, and then restarting the vehicle, the gear shifter started flashing, and the “Service Shifter” message displayed again. The contact drove around at approximately 10 MPH, and the message started flashing more frequently. The contact decided to park the vehicle. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that there was a known issue with the gear shifter. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 83,075

While driving, all of a sudden the ABS light, power steering light, electrical control message came up, traction control light all came on. For about 15/20 seconds, I had no power steering, and could not brake. Very scary. This happened 3 different times. During one of these times, everything on my dash went black. Then the heat turned on and we couldn’t roll down the windows. Very scary and dangerous. Especially the not being able to brake for any amount of seconds.

Theres a problem with the lifters. They are of the "MDS" type.If exposed to too much pressure while cold they appear to have a issue with the needle bearings failing. This problem was corrected on two other occasions and repaired. Its making the same noise again.Prior to this i had contacted the California Dispute Settlement Program as this purchase was from that state and had suggested they replace the cam and lifter setup to one of a non-MDS type and a high volume oil pump and Dodge denied my request. While the vehicle was repaired, they didnt provide documentation as to what was done although i was told the first time it was repaired they had indeed replaced lifters.

The contact owns a 2023 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to slow down, the brake pedal was slightly depressed and there was an abnormal vibration in the brake pedal. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the brake pads and rotors on the driver’s and passenger’s side front wheels. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 21,000.

ting to formally report an ongoing and unresolved safety issue with my vehicle that poses a serious risk both to myself and others on the road. The core issue appears to involve high-voltage faults and CAN bus voltage exceeding threshold limits—likely tied to the vehicle’s telematics system. Despite this, the vehicle is currently not communicating properly, and the diagnostics data are inconsistent or inaccessible. Here are the key concerns: •The vehicle has shut down multiple times while in motion, creating a dangerous situation. •It is only achieving ~10 MPG, a drastic drop from expected efficiency. •I was explicitly told not to drive it until the problem is resolved due to safety concerns. •The dealership has refused to repair the issue and has provided false information regarding diagnostic codes, which I’ve recorded for documentation. •This problem has persisted for nearly a year without resolution. At this point, I’m left with a vehicle that is unsafe to operate and a dealer network unwilling to take accountability. I’m requesting a formal investigation into this matter, as it may reflect a broader systemic or manufacturer-level issue affecting others as well. I can provide supporting documentation, service records, and recordings of diagnostic readouts as needed. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

The contact owns a 2023 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel became firm. Upon inspection underneath the vehicle, the contact discovered that the front suspension bolts had severe corrosion. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer and a second dealer, Jerry Ulm Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM (2966 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33607), where the vehicle was determined to be performing as designed. The contact stated that later, while driving, an unknown object punctured the rear passenger side tire, and the vehicle was taken to a third dealer, Courtesy Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Tampa (9207 E Adamo Dr, Tampa, FL 336190), who determined that all four tires showed abnormal wear and tear. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

This started a year ago and as of yesterday it still had codes. The code also include telematics and my infotainment system says fatal error. I have filed multiple complaints withFCA US LLC and have gone to the dealership multiple dealerships many of times. Transmission slippage when shifting from reverse to drive that causes a 2-3 second delay before transmission engages. Service manager at Cannons (CDJR) in Greenwood, MS advised that the cause of the slippage was due to fluid friction and that Dodge was aware of the issue, but hadn't issued a recall notice because they (Dodge) didn't know what was causing the problem with the transmission. The service manager advised me to just continue driving the car until further notice.

Additionally, the contact stated that the hill assist caused the rear wheels to lock up, and the vehicle lurched forward, nearly striking the rear of a stopped vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure recurred while at a complete stop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an unknown software update was performed; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who performed a relearning on the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35.

ODI #11629793POWER TRAIN

I purchased my 2023 Dodge Charger Scatpack 392 on July 22, 2024 and a week later I began to notice that each time I would backup and then shift into drive. There would be a 3 to 4 second delay in the transmission engaging with the drive shaft and when contact was made there's a hard thump that's felt throughout the car. I returned to the dealership and made a complaint about the issue I was having with the transmission and a transmission re-tune was done according to the service technician, but the problem is still persistent. I took it back to the dealership and was told by the service manager that Dodge is aware of the issue customers are having with the transmissions and have stated that the issue is due to fluid fiction and it's normal for the transmissions to respond that way. I don't believe that it's normal for a brand new car to shift that way. Plus it poses a massive safety risk for the driver and other people in the event that the car backs out into traffic and has to wait 3 to 4 seconds before the transmission engages that delay doesn't stop oncoming traffic and doesn't prevent a severe accident from occurring.
