Components and defects approaching or past their known service milestones
Worn chain tensioners cause timing chain skip or snap — common on GM 5.3L/6.2L, Ford EcoBoost, VW/Audi EA888, BMW N47/N63. Listen for cold-start rattles.
Water pump failure causes rapid overheating. If the engine overheats even once, head gasket damage is likely — turning a $400 part into a $3,000+ repair.
Degraded transmission fluid destroys clutch packs and solenoids. CVT transmissions are especially sensitive — neglected fluid can result in a $4,000–$8,000 replacement.
Degraded coolant loses corrosion inhibitors and attacks aluminum engine components. Can cause head gasket failure and water pump corrosion.
Worn spark plugs cause misfires that can foul and crack catalytic converters. A $150 tune-up can prevent a $1,200 catalytic converter replacement.
Dirty or failing injectors cause rough idle, reduced fuel economy, and increased emissions. Cleaning costs $100–$200; replacement $800–$1,600.

The vehicle's LCD screen has become delaminated which causes the control of the radio, air conditioning, navigation, and other features controlled by the "radio" portion of the car to become dysfunctional. The car will randomly beep, change air temperatures, start radio channels to scramble and back up camera works only sporadically. This is a safety hazard as it causes the driver to be distracted in order to attend to the incessant beeping and issues related to AC/heat, navigation or radio (volume, etc.). This appears from Chrysler Forums to be an issue among a large group of Chrysler 300 Year Model 2018 owners. I am encouraging them to file a concern with your group and to ask for a recall of the car for this reason.
Vehicle suddenly stalled at a red light and did not turn back on. Everything shut down. Also The factory-installed backup camera has failed completely. When the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the infotainment screen remains blank or black. This failure significantly reduces rearward visibility, creating a severe safety risk for pedestrians and property, Also not allowing access to temp control, radio, phone, cruise control, etc.
Date: February 22, 2026 VIA CERTIFIED MAIL FCA US LLC Customer Care P.O. Box 21-8004 Auburn Hills, MI 48321-8004 RE: FORMAL COMPLAINT – Safety Defect (Rearview Camera Failure) Vehicle 1: 2012 Chrysler 300S (VIN: [XXX] ) Vehicle 2: 2018 Chrysler 300S (VIN: [XXX] ) To the Chrysler Customer Care Team: I am a loyal, multi-vehicle Chrysler owner currently residing in San Diego County. I am writing to formally report a persistent and dangerous safety defect affecting both of my Chrysler 300S vehicles. Description of Defect: In both vehicles, the factory-installed backup camera has failed completely. When the vehicles are shifted into reverse, the infotainment screen remains blank or black. This failure significantly reduces rearward visibility, creating a severe safety risk for pedestrians and property, especially given the known blind spots of the 300S model. Legal and Safety Context: As you are aware, Chrysler has issued multiple recent recalls (including Recall 24V-436) regarding rearview camera software failures. Furthermore, for the 2018 model, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 111 mandates a functional rear visibility system. The identical failure across two different model years suggests a fundamental defect in the camera hardware or wiring harnesses used in this vehicle line. Requested Resolution: As a long-term supporter of the Chrysler brand, I am requesting a Goodwill Repair for both vehicles. I ask that Chrysler authorize a local authorized dealer in San Diego (Chula Vista/National City) to inspect and repair these camera systems at no cost to me. Please respond to this request in writing within 10 business days. I have also opened a report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to document these failures. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Head light assembly quit working, i.e no headlight in Decemeber 2024. I had the unit replaced, paid $1448.40 for part, 299.92 for labor to replace the complete headlight assembly. It is now June 2025, and it has failed again. It is unsafe to drive when the headlights don't work, and Stelantis and the dealer seem unable to fix the problem, and I do not feel that I should have to pay another cent on a safety feature as essential as a headlight assembly that doesn't work!
The Uconnect 3.4 screen is delaminating, causing the screen to have “Phantom Touches.” Infotainment will call 911 and will change Important safety features that “Stellantis” made only accessible in your infotainment. The delamination is causing a safety issue.

Malfunction of display LCD screen has become delaminated causing loss of hands free communication, navigation, temperature controls, & settings. LCD screen sporadically goes off & on without being able to control display causing a beeping sound as it randomly jumps between screen settings.
Chrysler needs to recall this issue. Many people are having this same screen issue. Chrysler, Please do something about this. This has been known to be a safety issue, as when it gets bad enough, the screen will black out. Delamination on screens has been known to cause the screen to black out, especially during backing, and buttons will randomly be pushed. Chrysler, recall this issue. Thank you.
There were 2 separate incidents that occurred. The first one we were backing out of our driveway and the car just stopped running. We were unable to start it again after a dozen attempts. We had the vehicle towed to a local shop and when they got in the car, it started right up. We drove it around for a few weeks before the 2nd incident happened. We were driving on the freeway this time and the car just stopped running. We were in the fast lane and it was extremely dangerous to get off the side of the road due to heavy traffic. It again would not start and we had to have it towed home. Once it came off the tow truck, it started up. Something about it getting towed makes it start again, maybe the angle that it is in when it is getting pulled up on to the tow truck does something. I’ve been nervous to drive it for fear it will break down on me again. We have tried to start it again to take it to a service shop but it will not start. There were no warning lights before either incident. The first shop we had it towed to informed us after we dropped it off that the car was too new for them to run for codes, so they were unable to tell us the issues.
There was a recall on this vehicle in 2018 for a Powertrain Control Module or PCM. The problem has arisen again. How do I correct this issue
My vehicle only has 29k miles on it and just failed safety inspection because the Rear Drive Shaft Bearing is broken.

The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Passenger headlight assembly stopped working. This is a dealer only part and will cost me over $2000 to. Fix when they get one in stock! This could be months, I have to drive with one headlight because one is dead and Chrysler has no parts.
Chrysler Model 300s Vehicle, 2018, repair service by an authorized Chrysler dealer in Puerto Rico, certified the replacement of original manufacturer parts of the power steering (Rack-Pinion) on three occasions, which does not accept the programming of technical support by the automotive specialists of the authorized Chrysler repair shop. It is evident that this vehicle faces a hidden problem from the manufacturer which had not been detected until now. Diagnosis could not replace the part because the programming defect by the manufacturer was not found. It is important to start an investigation into the power steering known as (Rack-Pinion), it is working correctly for the driver's safety to drive safely on the roads without this defect, which could not be corrected by the automotive technicians authorized by Chrysler in Puerto Rico, causing an accident. Back up camera not operating sometimes, its scrolling thru the contacts and calling people randomly. Stops GPS randomly. It's very distracting and dangerous!

THE COMPUTER ISSUE HAS BEEN ON GOING FOR A WHILE. THE COMPUTER SCREEN JUMPS AROUND ON ITS OWN CHANGES AIR AND HEAT SETTINGS, RADIO SETTINGS, BLANKS OUT ON THE REAR VIEW SITE WHILE IN USE. TRANSMISSION SKIPS ON TAKE OFF AND BUMPS WHEN CHANGING GEARS PARTICULARLY REVERSE AND PARK...... RECENTLY, LAST WEEK, THE CAR CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TURNING INTO A DRIVE WAY NO WARNING LIGHT OR SIGN OF DISTRESS. I ATTEMPTED TO START IT AND IT JUST CLICKED LIKE IT WAS OUT OF GAS BUT WASNT. THE (P) FOR PARKING KEPT BLINKING BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT GO IN PARK COMPLETELY SO IT NEVER STARTED . I HAD TO USE THE PARKING BRAKE TO PREVENT IT FROM ROLLING. I TOWED IT TO A AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL FAULT WITH THE FUEL TANK. SO ALMOST 1,OOO$ LATER IT WAS REPLACED AND ITS RUNNING HOWEVER THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT QUITE RIGHT. IM CONCERNED ABOUT THE FUEL PUMP ISSUE BECAUSE IT WAS SUDDEN WITH NO TYPE OF WARNING LIGHT ETC. THERES BEEN NO "PARK OUTSIDE RECALL' FOR THIS VIN# AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT I SHOULD TO DO TO SOMEWHAT ENSURE MY SAFETY . THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME. I HOPE TO HEAR BACK WITH A SOLUTION OR ADVICE.
The touchscreen that controls the heating, defrost, radio, and various items cycles from one screen to the next is turning on and off each selected item rapidly. For example: one minute the defrost will be on, the next the radio will appear, then the phone, next other items. As it does this, it shuts items off like the heat and defrost. I believe that to be dangerous as the windshield will fog over impairing vision and it is generally distracting my concentration from the road. I have been online and there are numerous complaint and forums about this dangerous issue that should be addressed by the manufacturer.
The Power monitoring sensor system failed.
My 2018 Chrysler 300 u connect radio screen is delaminating getting bubbles. It’s causing it to press random buttons uncontrollably which causes the control of the radio, air conditioning, navigation, and other features controlled by the "radio" portion of the car to become dysfunctional. It’s very distracting, climate controls turn on and off on their own, it’s makes phone calls on its own. The backup camera isn’t working right, The car is available for inspection. The safety of me and others is put at risk because it’s very distracting and unsafe to drive like this. This is a safety hazard as it causes the driver to be distracted in order to attend to the incessant beeping and issues related to AC/heat, navigation or radio & It could easily cause a car accident. I have taken it to a Chrysler dealership where they told me I will have to buy a new one and it’s not covered under warranty. I personally am struggling financially and can’t afford it. I first noticed this a few months ago when the screen started getting big bubbles.
The trunk keeps opening on its own and it happens even while driving sometimes. I had the car for a year now and it has happened sporadically approximately 10 times since I bought it. I had the key fob replaced and the wiring looked at and was told there should be a recall because the electrical wiring is exposed and gets wet with rain. Corrosion sets in and the wires need replaced. I looked up other complaints and this is common for 2018 Chrysler 300. Please help. This should be recalled. Its dangerous esp when driving. I came out to my car after parking one day and my trunk was open despite the car being locked.

Our Chrysler 300 (2018) has the delamination issue reported numerous times on the Chrysler forum. Our car only has 35,000 miles on it. The delamination issue is definitely a safety issue. The radio station keeps rapidly changing making it useless. The safety part of the issue is that the heat/cool also stops working in the car and switches rapidly from one to the other. The Nav option doesn't work because the screen keeps changing. We talked to a few different repair places and they said they have seen this numerous times with the Chrysler 300. Chrysler needs to fix this.

I currently am waiting (for 3 weeks) for the part to get the screen replaced through my dealership. It is scary to drive and unsafe. It randomly calls any number 10 times in a row and I am distracted trying to stop the call multiple times. I live in Phoenix AZ and when the A/C switches from cold to heater and turns on the seat heater I about pass out driving. It is too hot here to drive with no A/C and when the heater comes on I am trying frantically to turn off while driving. It is like the car has become possessed!!!

My fuel gage is now not operating correctly. I have filled the tank up over 3 times and it only shows 3/4 of a tank.
So my radio is delaminating. This is a major safety issue as it’s distracting for the driver. It will ghost tap in random locations causing gps not to work properly which can result in a crash. A/c gets turned on automatically and will turn the heat on full blast which could caused issues on a hot day such as heat stroke or something similar, this is also a big distraction while driving having to turn constantly turn the a/c back off, turn the radio back off, fix the gps, ect. This is a common problem on this veh as there are tons of forum posts about it. Please force Chrysler to put out a recall for this issue.

Back up camera problem screen either turns blue or is scrambled. This has been going on off and on for the past year sometimes it happens immediately upon putting car in reverse and other times whine in the middle of backing up. The car is with the dealer now Also door panels are separating from the front doors I have heard this is a common problem with these cars and I'm not sure if it could affect side door airbags.

The radio control screen that has all controls on it is failing it turns things like heat/ air off and on at random cannot bring up the vehicle info and setup turning the system off doesn’t help it. The front screen is bubbled. This is a safety hazard as it’s scrolling through items and you’ll reach to change it also the hands free will not work either therefore can be a hazard I was told by the dealer it will need replaced as nothing will work on it. The Uconnect doesn’t work either. If you set something in it such as air and direction, it will turn off and on and change where air is coming from the radio scans and goes to serrius radio ( I’m not subscribed) heated steering wheel comes on at random. Nothing works properly. It started with the backup camera not coming on all the time now it’s the computer / radio screen

LCD Display becomes delaminated, display settings won't stay set, jumps around, beeps non stop losing all saved settings; radio/SiriusXM stations change randomly, climate control changes randomly(AC/heat and seat), Navigation/ hands free communication lost, accesses my contacts and makes calls randomly, back up screen lost, all at the same time, very distracting being a safety hazard. Dysfunctional LCD remains, continues daily, is available for inspection and has been reproduced at the service center. Unfortunately the repair is very costly, therefore I must live with the distracted driving daily. I've reached out to Uconnect and Chrysler Customer Care for support and no response.
I got my car in May of 2021, and when I was in a car accident in August of 2021, none of the airbags in my car deployed, When i was rear-ended, which caused me to rear end the person in front of me, on the highway in 2022, my airbags also did not deploy, then in April of 2023, the message "Service Air bag System".
I was driving down interstate 95 N Richmond Va and i heard a loud pop scared me to dealth, My sunroof exploded leaving a large hole in the front sunroof. i called my insurance of course i had to pay a deductible.

My car radio is delaminated causing the radio or other controls to not function properly. Buttons are pressed without me touching the screen. Other Chrysler users have the same issues and it’s a safety problem
Windshield seams unhinged, the interior panels buckled and unhinged obstructing airbags, and wiper dispenser malfunctions causing poor visibility while driving. I’ve experienced every disappointment and near dangers of uconnect to having the system replaced with the same brand to no avail. I have date stamped pictures depicting the unsafe issues. I even went back to the dealership of purchase to get answers. They confirmed having knowledge of all issues I mentioned but they have done nothing to repair, replace, or provide suggestions.
I started having problems with acceleration, I would go to pull out and the car would choke. When I put my car in reverse I would get an error message telling me to put my car in park and then desired gear. When I did that it would not go into reverse, I would have to shut my car off and then restart it. At time the check engine light would come on and then go off. I attempted to have it checked multiple times but when I got to the dealership it would be off again. I finally was able to get it to the dealer while it was on and was told I needed a new transmission and I would need to bring it in for a full diagnosis. I got it to a transmission shop shop and had the transmission replaced. When he ordered the transmission and installed it the transmission module was bad. I really feel due to the fact that a brand new transmission had a defective transmission module that the issue is that the model transmission in that car is defective.

The audio system screen has become delaminated. This causes buttons to be selected at random by the unit. Climate control constantly changes. When in the phone mode, it will hang up current call and call other contacts listed on the attached phone. The radio switches stations and audio functions at random. Cannot use the GPS unit because it will change to previously used addresses.
The screen is bubbling or delaminating on the radio/head unit. It will randomly select or unselect any item on the screen. Sometimes when using the backup camera it is very hard to see. Sometimes it does not disengage from the backup screen, you will have to shut car off and restart when that occurs. This has been going on for about 1 year.
Screen is delaminated. Will make random calls and do random functions. very distracting while driving.
The Large Control Screen appears to have "delaminated". At first it only affected radio controls causing loss of function and random acts. It eventually progressed to fail other functions controlled by this unit including seat and communications functions which caused the unit to intermittently adjust seat and more seriously call emergency numbers randomly. The random adjustments significantly affected the driving safety of this vehicle and impacted local emergency call centers with calls. The dealer confirmed the malfunction and was unable to repair the unit. The failures were intermittent and so there was no warning when changes happened.

Front driver has lifted. Took the car in to have it repaired and they have no resolution. On 9/12/2022 I attempted to exit my vehicle and the panel had lifted such that the door would not open. The only way to exit my car was to climb over the center console to exit the vehicle. Only way to get door open after was to continue to pull up on the panel so I could place the locking mechanism in it's proper place. This could have been a severe safety hazard.

My vehicle has a backup camera and also controls different functions of my vehicle the screen will completely blank or when I put into reverse the screen will show a distorted view on the screen or I will get bold colored lines on the screen with distorted views. I took a picture of the screen and took it to a Chrysler dealership while my vehicle was still under warranty the service advisor told me that he had never seen that before and they would have to keep my vehicle and see if it did it when they had it.I told him that I never know when it will do it .

iNSIDE DOOR PANEL WARPING PEELING AWAY FROM WINDOW CAN interfere with the side airbag deployment. They can also prevent the door locks and anti-theft systems from activating, or mess with the heating and cooling systems.

Laminate is melting on uconnect interface for control panel for climate control, navigation, defrost/defog, and radio. It's an anecdotal problem for many Chrysler/Dodge owners when scanning internet forums. Chrysler/Dodge has been unhelpful in rectifying the situation. This defect causes "phantom" screen touches which causes the navigation system to skip around to different destinations while in use causing the potential for an accident as the driver suddenly must change course when listening to verbal prompts. Further, the "phantom" screen touches causes the climate control to randomly shoot up to blast hot air in the driver's face while driving. Also, defrost/defog cannot be set and relied upon because "phantom" screen touches turn them off at random causing a driving hazard.
While driving the touchscreen would randomly switch from one source to another creating a major distraction. The GPS malfunctions and would give bad turn information. I'm visiting the dealership to see the issue so it can be safe to drive again.

The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that the door panels on all four doors had started to independently separate from the door frame. She also stated that the center console had also began to separate. In addition, various electrical failures would occur while driving including the backup camera. The contact's boyfriend had taken the vehicle to an unknown dealer and was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and she was given the same information as the dealer. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. My 2018 Chrysler 300 radio/infotainment/U connect system fails at the most inconvenient times. The screen will go black when backing causing the back-up camera to become inoperative, the system will drop phone calls, switch between radio stations, navigation will become inoperative. This has created some safety problems, especially when backing and using the navigation functions. It has also prevented me from using the hands free function when making and receiving phone calls. The touch screen started delaminating in November of 2021 and is progressively getting worse. Chrysler really needs to fix this problem before someone is injured.
My door panels are peeling away from the area where the trim and window meet on my driver side and passenger. This is also causing problems with my door locking and it may also affect airbag deployment. I feel that there needs to be a recall on these door panels, and they need to be installed properly.
The console monitor, which is part of the UConnect system, is experiencing a delamination of the screen. It started a few months ago at which time the problem was mainly cosmetic. The screen can be seen peeling away in the upper area. For the past few weeks parts of the screen along the peeling line activates, as if someone was touching the screen. This happens sporadically, but is increasing in frequency. It has become extremely distracting while driving, as it suddenly changes audio inputs and channels. In navigation mode, it changes locations on the screen or tries to cancel my navigation.
UNKNOWN. My door panels on all doors, aside from the drivers door are all warping away from the windows. It has gotten so bad that my doors will not lock every time. I have done a lot of research and apparently this is a safety issue b/c airbags have deployed unexpectedly, or have not deployed during accidents causing harm. The fact that I am a single, female, traveling nurse and my doors will not lock at times is definitely NOT ok. I took it to a shop when I had to get a scrape fixed and asked about the door panels. They were the ones to tell me that this is such a huge problem with my make and model of car that they never are able to get parts in for months at a time, and even when they do it is the same parts that I have and people always come back with the same problem. The fact that Dodge/Chrysler knows that this is an ongoing issue for their cars since 2014 and they refuse to fix the issue prior to putting them on the market is outrageous. I paid almost $30,000 for this car with the expectations that it would be safe, look like it did when I first purchased it (as long as no accidents happened etc). I am going to do whatever I can to make sure that this gets the attention it deserves b/c big cooperations like this should not be able to screw over their customers. Especially when it puts our safety at risk.
Just recently purchased this used vehicle in August and the car has shut off a few times while driving. This is a safety issue. The check engine light does not come on at all.
The vehicle's LCD screen has become delaminated which causes the control of the radio, air conditioning, navigation, and other features controlled by the "radio" portion of the car to become dysfunctional. The car will randomly beep, change air temperatures, start navigation, make random phone calls, cause the loss of hands-free communication and turn on heated seats. The only option given is replacement of the entire radio which costs $1200.

The contact owns 2018 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that the inside door panel detached from the door frame. Additionally, the defroster failed to defrost the windshield. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the door panel needed to be replaced. The defroster was working as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 57,300.
The sunroof is leaking and water has ran into the radio causing the touchscreen to start going crazy and can not operate a lot of the functions it does. It ended up turning on defrost and fogging up the windshield and I ran into oncoming traffic. I have brought this to my dealer on multiple occasions and they will not repair said the car is out of warranty.it will also call people on the phone And trying to hang up have taken my eyes off the road and have had several close calls with it doing this.
While I was driving the Uconnect infotainment system started touch inputting on the whole screen. It started changing the AC, the seat warmers, clock settings, phone, and just everything on the screen. I was very worried that something might happen since my little one was with me. I took it to the dealer. This seems very dangerous and I was shocked to find so many people online with the same problem and no recall on it. Screen seems like it has a bubble.
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that the center console light would flash on and off while driving. The contact would restart the vehicle and the console would operate as designed however, the failure would return soon after restart. A dealer was not contacted. Noticed water damage on rear driver side pillar had mechanic look found water comming in from sunroof track. the drain hose was still attached and unclogged water began to leak behind the rear grab handle and light. This seems to be a defect by manufacturer and have seen alot of the same complaints.i was worried the water could cause a short maybe fir behind headliner.
The radio, heat/AC unit, temperature moves up and down by itself, maps, etc... Took my car to my local dealership for routine oil change. I inquired about why my radio was on a constant browse? The technician explained that this has been a common issue with the Chrysler 300. Since then the issue has gotten worse. I feel if this is an issue that is happening in other Chrysler's maybe is should be fixed by Chrysler? This is my second 300 I love my car but this issue in a 2018 300 S? A SOFTWARE UPDATE CAME ON MY SCREEN WHEN I DRIVING. I PUSHED THE UPDATE BUTTON ON THE SCREEN AND IT STARTED TO UPDATE IT STOPPED AT 44% AND THEN MY CAR BATTERY STARTED LOSING ITS CHARGE. AFTER A FEW DAYS THE BATTERY WAS DEAD AND HAD TO JUMP IT TO GET IT STARTED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. I CALLED UCONNECT THEY ASSIGNED ME A CASE NUMBER TO GIVE CHRYSLER WHERE MY CAR HAS BEEN FOR 5 DAYS.
THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM SCREEN IS JUMPING ALL OVER THE PLACE AND CHANGING THINGS I HAVE NOT TOUCHED LIKE THE HEAT/AC, HEATED SEATS, STEREO, BLUETOOTH, AUX AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT IS CONTROLLED BY HE SCREEN. I HAVE NO WAY TO STOP IT. ALL OF THIS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS SITTIG STILL.
THE FACTORY INSTALLED NAVIGATION SYSTEM(DIGITAL/ANALOG INSTRUMENT CLUSTER) IS JUMPING ALL OVER THE PLACE. TURNING ON THINGS THAT I HAVE NOT TOUCHED. THE HEAT COMES ON THEN THEN THE AIR, THEN THE RADIO JUMPS FROM STATION TO STATION, THEN THE UCONNECT AND ANYTHING ELSE IT CAN CHANGING LIKE IT HAS GONE CRAZY. I CAN'T CONTROL ANY OF THE CONTROLS.
THE UCONNECT SCREEN THE PROTECT DELAMINATING IS BUBBLING AND EFFECTING THE SCREEN AND BACK UP CAMERA AND NAVIGATION.
TOP OF ALL MY DOOR PANELS ARE POPPING UP. ALSO, BACKUP CAMERA IS NOT WORKING...IT WAS STARTING TO TURN RED AND NOW IT IS BLACK AND SAYS CAMERA NOT DETECTED.
WHEN IN MOTION THE BRAKES COME ON. ON DASH BOARD IT SAID IN BOLD RED LETTERS [ !BRAKED ] THEN ONSTAR COME ON. I DONT HAVE ONSTAR. THE CAR STOP IN MIDDLE OF ROAD. WAS I HACK,
DEER STRIKE 68 MPH FRONT DRIVERS SIDE BUMPER ,HOOD BACK TO TIRE ALMOST TO WINDSHIELD, WAS ON 4 LANE ROAD AT 530 PM CST
I HAVE FOUND THAT GOING AT LOWER SPEEDS, LIKE ACCELERATING FROM STOP, OR DRIVING THRU A PARKING LOT, THE TRANSMISSION JOLTS THE ENTIRE CAR. LIKE IT IS SLIPPING IN AND OUT OF GEAR. IT ALSO SEEMS TO SHIFT REALLY HARD IN TO SECOND GEAR, NOT ALL THE TIME BUT IS JUST GETTING WORSE. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 26000 MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN SERVICED AT THE CORRECT INTERVALS. ALSO ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW MOTOR, IT DOES NOT WANT TO ROLL UP. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 OR 5 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS. USB HOOK UP FOR OUR PHONE DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE DEVICE, AFTER CHANGING TO A DIFFERENT PORT, STILL THE SAME RESULT.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURN ON AND ONE SWIPE OF THE WINDSHIELD WHEN TURN SIGNAL APPLIED, THIS ISSUE IS DISTRACTING AND DANGEROUS WHEN MAKING A TURN, WHEN YOU DON'T EXPECT THEM TO COME ON.

THE CHRYSLER OPERATORS MANUAL/CHRYSLER.COM EXPLICITLY STATES THAT "THE BLIND SPOT MONITORING (BSM) ZONE STARTS AT THE OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR AND EXTENDS APPROXIMATELY 20 FT (6 M) TO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE." NONE OF CHRYSLER'S MANUFACTURED VEHICLES MEETS THIS SAFETY SPECIFICATION. INSTEAD, THE BSM DETECTS A VEHICLE APPROACHING FROM EITHER SIDE LANE ONLY WHEN THE VEHICLE APPROACHES THE BSM VEHICLE AFTER IT HAS REACHED THE BSM EQUIPPED VEHICLE'S REAR BUMPER, OR JUST 6 TO 7 FEET BEHIND THE REAR VIEW SIDE MIRRORS, INSTEAD OF THE PUBLISHED 20 FEET. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT DOES NOT ALLOW ENOUGH TIME FOR THE DRIVER OF THE BSM EQUIPPED VEHICLE TO CHANGE LANES SAFELY. CHRYSLER IS ERRONEOUSLY STATING/PUBLISHING SPECIFICATIONS TO THE PURCHASERS OF THEIR SAFETYTEC PRODUCTS THAT CANNOT AND ARE NOT MET BY THE CURRENT MONITORING SENSORS. THE BSM SYSTEM IS PART OF CHRYSLER'S SAFETYTEC PLUS GROUP PACKAGE THAT HAS A MSRP VALUE OF $2995. I HAVE DRIVEN OTHER VEHICLES WITH THE CHRYSLER BSM PACKAGE AND NONE OF THE DRIVEN VEHICLES MEET CHRYSLER'S DESCRIPTION/ SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE BSM TO ALERT THE DRIVER OF AN ONCOMING PASSING VEHICLE. THE BSM SYSTEM DOES ALERT THROUGH TRIANGLE LIGHTS ON THE SIDE REAR VIEW MIRRORS AND AUDIBLY ALERTS THE DRIVER, BUT NOT UNTIL THE ONCOMING VEHICLE IS NEXT TO THE CAR EQUIPPED WITH THE BSM SAFETY. THE BSM ALERT COMES ON TOO LATE TO PREVENT AN ACCIDENT. THE BSM SYSTEM DOES NOT PERFORM AS DESCRIBED BY CHRYSLER PUBLICATION AND DEALER DESCRIPTION TO NEW CAR PURCHASERS. IN ADDITION, I DROVE JEEPS AND OTHER 300 VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH BSM AND EACH OF THESE VEHICLES HAD THE SAME SAFETY CONCERNS. I MET WITH THE SUPERVISOR OF SERVICES AT MY CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND WE WENT FOR A TEST DRIVE. HE STATED THAT THE BSM IS MONITORING AND WORKING AS DESIGNED, BUT NOT AS EXPLICITLY SPECIFIED CHRYSLER IN CHRYSLER PUBLICATIONS AND OWNER AND OPERATING MANUALS.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, VEHICLE HAS NO POWER, CAN'T ACCELERATE. SHOWS CODES P0340 P0365 U1428. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH THIS VEHICLE! I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS TOTALLY UNRESPONSIVE. HOLDING IT TO THE FLOOR KEPT THE SPEED STEADY UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED COMING ON WHILE USING THE TURN SIGNAL AT NIGHT WHILE DRIVING HOME. THE VERY NEXT MORNING STARTED THE CAR AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD NOT TURN OFF. HAD TO PULL THE FUSE TO STOP.
HAVE SEVERAL 'BUGS' WITH STEREO/NAV/UCONNECT. RADIO PRESETS DISAPPEAR. NAV VOLUME DECREASES ON ITS OWN. BLUETOOTH USE INTERRUPTS NAV...MY LOCAL DEALER AND 'UCONNECT CASE MANAGER' TOLD ME MONTHS AGO THAT I NEED A NEW SYSTEM YET IT HASN'T BEEN APPROVED/ORDERED. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE.
ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE EVEN WITH THE GAS PEDAL PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS!!!! I WAS GOING 35 IN THE RAIN ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THIS OCCURRED. TRAFFIC STARTED TO SPEED UP AND I COULD COULD NOT ACCELERATE TO KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC. IT TOOK OVER A MILE TO GET UP TO SPEED. IF SOMETHING SHOULD FAIL, IT SHOULD NOT MAKE THE CAR UNSAFE TO OPERATE.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL FREQUENTLY FAILS TO WORK AS DESIGNED. VEHICLE WILL FREQUENTLY FAIL TO DETECT VEHICLES (IN ALL CONDITIONS, AND ALL DIFFERENT TYPES OF VEHICLES) IN FRONT OF IT AND NOT ONLY FAIL TO SLOW OR STOP, BUT INSTEAD ACCELERATES. THIS HAS REQUIRED MANUAL BRAKING MULTIPLE TIMES TO TRY AND STOP IN TIME. ADDITIONALLY THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE FAILS TO RECOGNIZE CARS IN ITS LANE AND WILL RANDOMLY PANIC BRAKE WHEN THERE IS NO VEHICLE IN THE LANE, IT APPEARS PICKING UP A VEHICLE IN THE NEXT LANE OVER. THIS OCCURS ON STRAIGHT ROADS AS WELL AS CURVED, WITH FLAT AS WELL AS VARIED ELEVATION. LASTLY, VEHICLE THREW 3 CODES FOR TRANSMISSION SENSORS AS WELL AS EGR (U0402, U0402PD, AND P1DD2) WHILE CASUALLY DRIVING. THIS CAUSED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON AS WELL AS VEHICLE TO GO INTO LIMP MODE. THIS CAUSED A DANGEROUS INCIDENT WHILE TRYING TO PASS A VEHICLE. VEHICLE IS IN SHOP FOR ISSUE ON 4/26.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE AND THEN LUNGED FORWARD. SOUTHFIELD CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (28100 TELEGRAPH RD, SOUTHFIELD, MI 48034, (248) 331-9937) DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REPAIR SPECIFICS WERE UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000. *BF*JB
THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL HAS BEEN MALFUNCTION SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. IT'S BEEN IN THE SHOP THREE OR MORE TIMES FOR IT. 2 DAY AGO I RECORD ON MY IPHONE AS THE CAR STARTED SLOWING DOWN DUE TO A STOPPED CAR AHEAD OF ME AND THEN SUDDENLY STARTED SPEEDING UP WHILE THE CAR IN FROM WAS STILL STOPPED DUE TO A RED LIGHT. I DON'T HAVE PICTURES BUT I DO HAVE A SMALL VIDEO. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I CAN UPLOAD THAT SOMEWHERE FOR YOU TO VIEW. ALSO MY RADIO RESET TO ALL THE DEFAULT STATION WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF. THE DEALER REPLACE THE SENSOR OR CAMERA THAT TRACKS THE ACC, BUT I'M STILL HAVE THE TROUBLE. ON THE SAME DAY I WAS DRIVING IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND I SET MY ACC TO 35. I AIMED THE CAR TOWARDS A PARKED CAR, AND THE ACC DID NOT SLOW DOWN THE CAR, DID NOT FLASH THE BRAKE ALARM, OR DID ANYTHING. I HAD TO SWERVE TO AVOID A SWERVE TO AVOID A COLLISION. AGAIN I HAVE THE VIDEOS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,500.
I HAVE HAD THE CAR TO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THIS SAME ISSUE AND IT'S BACK AGAIN. THEY SAID IT WAS SOMETHING THAT WAS NOT DONE CORRECTLY WHEN THEY CAN WAS MADE. SAY IT A PROBLEM WITH THE WIRING HARNESS, THE REPAIRED IT LAST TIME AND I FEE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND NOT JUST MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO REPAIR. I PURCHASED THE CAN BRAND NEW AND EXPECTED THEM TO STAY BY THEIR PRODUCT AND REPLACE ANY PROBLEM PARTS THAT ARE FOUND. NOW I HAVE TO TAKE OFF TIME FROM WORK AGAIN TO HAVE THIS ISSUE ADDRESSED. THE CAR CAN BE PARKED AND THE DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHT WITH COME ON AND GO OFF AT WILL. THE FRONT PARKING SENSOR WILL STOP WORKING OUT OF THE BLUE BECAUSE I GET AN ERROR MESSAGE ON THE DASH. THEN IT WILL JUST START WORKING AGAIN. SAME WITH THE FRONT RIGHT FOG-LIGHT DOES THE SAME THING COME ON AND GOES OUT AT WILL...
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON 02/09/2019 AND AS I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS STARTED TO GET WET DUE INSIDE THE FRONT LIGHTS. THE FRONT RIGHT HEADLIGHT THEN STOPPED WORKING. TO ME THIS IS SERIOUS UNSAFE ISSUE.
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

Component Failure Cascade Risk
Known patterns where one defect leads to more severe downstream failures
▸ Loss of brake assist and ABS in emergency — can significantly extend stopping distances
▸ Complete transmission failure — repair costs $3,000–$8,000+; vehicle may become undriveable
▸ Engine derate or no-start condition — DEF system failure puts vehicle into limp mode limiting speed to 5mph
Complaint & Reliability Timeline
