Lemon law eligibility depends on state law, number of repair attempts, and days out of service. Consult an attorney for actual eligibility.
The same components appear in both official NHTSA recalls and owner-filed complaints — a double-confirmed failure signal.
Worn chain tensioners cause timing chain skip or snap — common on GM 5.3L/6.2L, Ford EcoBoost, VW/Audi EA888, BMW N47/N63. Listen for cold-start rattles.
Water pump failure causes rapid overheating. If the engine overheats even once, head gasket damage is likely — turning a $400 part into a $3,000+ repair.
Degraded transmission fluid destroys clutch packs and solenoids. CVT transmissions are especially sensitive — neglected fluid can result in a $4,000–$8,000 replacement.
Degraded coolant loses corrosion inhibitors and attacks aluminum engine components. Can cause head gasket failure and water pump corrosion.
Worn spark plugs cause misfires that can foul and crack catalytic converters. A $150 tune-up can prevent a $1,200 catalytic converter replacement.
Dirty or failing injectors cause rough idle, reduced fuel economy, and increased emissions. Cleaning costs $100–$200; replacement $800–$1,600.
NHTSA VIN-specific recall lookup returned no data for this VIN. The 2 recalls below are model-wide and may or may not apply to this exact vehicle depending on production date. Verify at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

The problem is I have that transmission in my car that nissan was sued for . Yes I received a extended warranty 85 months or 85,000 miles . My transmission started going out as soon I rolled over 85,000. Dealer told me the warranty was no good. Now it's sitting in the yard. All I can do is make the payment. Not only am I making payments but I have to keep insurance and tags for a car I can't drive!!!! I sent nissan an email but I get no response! I desperately need help! My fiancee dream car turned into a nightmare. Thanks! [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
In 2022, there was a recall on the hood latch system. At that time the dealership was able to spray a substance on the latch and close out the recall instead of replacing the latch. Now my car is having issues with the latch that should’ve been replaced from the start. Therefore, the solution during the recall only prolonged the issue and did not fix the issue. There hasn’t been an accident, as of now. However, this could cause an extreme situation and put everyone’s safety at risk.
While driving my Nissan Altima 2018 on Sunday 2-1 the indicator light came on. I looked it up in the manual to the car and it stated it was something with the air bag. I took it to the Larry Miller Nissan Mesa AZ. Wednesday, 2-4. According to them I was told the light indicated the air bag would not deployed if I were in an accident. That is life threating. This is report I got from them: They checked for codes found code B0020-13 store din air bag followed the diagnosis procedure as per the ESM to inspect the air bag seta harness to be okay connected first step is to replace the LH side air bag module as per the DTC. They told me it would cost $3,247.44 to fix. I know there was a recall on the air bag for my make and model but unknown to me when it was posted. My car have always ran like a new vehicle to this day until this happen. It should be considered a manufacture issue and should be repaired by the manufacture.
Didn't know what the list this one but at a certain speed on the highway the hood latch comes loose unlocks, and my backup camera All of a sudden doesn't always work, sometimes the screen is completely black... Also the sensor that tells you that a car is too close to you keeps turning itself off and then when you check the radar sensor to make sure that it's clear of debris there's no debris but yet this thing just keeps turning itself off while you're on the highway or local road... I will list when the first problem started happening and then we know when the other ones start happening consecutively afterwards.. electrical issue front passenger door will not open automatically Putting my passenger at risk

See attached document for complaint.
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed at night, the halogen headlights failed to function as intended and were dimmed, which reduced the visibility of the roadway. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a collision center, where the headlight assembly and bulbs were replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Upon further investigation, the contact learned that the headlights on Nissan vehicles were experiencing failure due to a delaminating reflector defect. The contact learned that the heat from the halogen beams was causing heat damage to the reflective surface. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The driver seat airbag module is defective and requires replacement. It is available for inspection at Northlake Kia or any authorized Nissan service center upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The defective driver seat airbag module may fail to deploy properly in a collision, placing the driver at serious risk of injury or death. This defect also endangers passengers and other road users in the event of an accident. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The defect was confirmed by Northlake Kia on August 29, 2025 during vehicle inspection. The dealership stated that the part is defective and must be replaced immediately. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle has been inspected by Northlake Kia, an authorized Nissan service center. The manufacturer (Nissan Consumer Affairs) has been notified but has not yet provided a resolution or replacement part. There has been no involvement by police or insurance representatives. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes. and before thats what prompted me to bring the vehicle in to be serviced. Upon inspection at Northlake Kia on August 29, 2025, the dealership identified the driver airbag module defect. The airbag warning light was illuminated on the dashboard, indicating a malfunction in the airbag system.
My Nissan Altima's power door locks failed making entry and egress sometimes impossible. While the key will unlock the driver's door, rear seat passengers have been unable to exit the vehicle without assistance due to the door being locked. Premature power door lock actuators in Nissan vehicles is reportedly a very common problem according to my research.
Suddenly airbag light has steady on when start engine. Scanner shows has failed code L4 and failed to reset.
I purchased this vehicle last month from Anderson in cockeysville, Md. last week the airbag light came on. I was able to take it to them today 9-15-25 where they at first told me I was over the 1,000miles warranty so I’d have to deal with it on my own. After speaking with a manager, he agreed to take it to Nissan to get a determination.
The headlights on my 2018 Altima SL are INCREDIBLY dim. I have tried two different LED manufacturer's bulbs with the same result. It is beyond dangerous to drive my car at night. Sadly, my floodlights are FAR brighter than my low beams. There are countless complaints for this issue over the past few years. It sounds like their solution was less than desirable for most customers. This should be an actual recall to ensure that the Hundreds of thousands (probably more) of the 2013- 2018 Altimas on the road are safe for the drivers as well as the cars around them. This issue is ridiculous and MUST be corrected.
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the headlights on the driver's and passenger's side of the vehicle had identical stress fractures. The fractures allowed water to enter the headlight housings. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the headlight assemblies needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case for the failure. The manufacturer informed the contact that the headlight assembly replacements were not covered under warranty. The failure mileage was unknown.
There is a recall for altimas from years 2019-2021 with an issue where the engine will not start after the battery light on the dashboard comes on. After a few minutes the car will start up and ride like normal. This also happens in the 2018 model of the altima. This happened to us multiple times. The battery is good, and there is no reason for the engine not to start right aqay. Why is there no recall for the 2018 models?
The driver's side door lock actuator stopped working around June 2024. Haven't replaced it yet, but bought another part. Read where others are having same issue. Just in the last couple of weeks, around June 15th, 2025, my rear driver's side door actuator stopped working as well. I have to crfrawl in from the other side and unlock the doors. Safety issue since the doors do not lock or unlock.
Anytime I pull my hood release, my hood never opens & I hear no click .
The airbag light in the dashboard always stays lit. It has been worked on at the dealership multiple times and they get it to go out only for it to come back on. It’s concerning not knowing if there is a problem with the airbags itself. This has been on going for years. It started around when my car had 34000-35000 miles on it.
I’ve had to replace the break sensor a few times and it’s unusual… My check engine light came on and it reads the code for the catalyst converter.., the auto part store saw a recall on this for my make and model but not seeing it here . The code was cleared and hasn’t came back on yet but I’m anticipating it will .. these two issues need to be further looked into please
It seems to be the transmission intermittently. I'd stop, push down on the accelerator and would go like a few MPH. Then it would lunge forward and I'd have to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of me. The other thing was it didn't seem to shift from first gear - I ended up redlining it at 7000rpm when only going 45mph. I've read that there is a problem with Nissan cars and the CVT. In answer to your questions: You can inspect it. At a stop/light, I'm always afraid the accelerator will start out slow and then lunge forward and eventually I'll hit another vehicle. The dealer couldn't reproduce the issue after having the vehicle 6 days. After 3, they "re-programmed" as the service manager said it was out-of-date and that doing so may fix the problem. They then tested for a further 3 days and couldn't reproduce it. Vehicle has only been inspected by the local Nissan dealer. There were no warning lights or messages before or after these incidents.
Took car for inspection check engine light on will not pass mechanic said same issueue as recall PC716. Said was under recall nissan recall does not include the vin so would not repair need to add vin to recall since it is same issue. Can not drive until repaired.
I’m getting an Air Bag warning light showing up on my dash. i took it to the Nissan dealer and its error code B0020-13 which comes up as a Left seat side air bag open error. Apparently the wiring going from the connector under the seat up to the side air bag is intermittently opening up depending what position the seat is in. Nissan said the entire top part of the seat needs to be replaced, very expensive, $2,500.00 to $3,000. This is a big safety problem since this is a common problem with this model from all the research I have done. This is obviously an engineering problem with how the cable is ran or quality of the cable and should be Nissans responsibility not the owner of the vehicle.
The airbag light appeared on my dashboard in late December. On 1/8/25, I took it to Auto Nation Nissan in Tempe to have it checked. They determined that the driver's side seat back needed to be replaced. That is where the airbag sensor is located. As of today, 3/14/25, they still do not have an ETA for the seat back. I have been driving for almost 3 months now without the airbags working. I also contacted Nissan corporate, and get the same response - they can't get an ETA for the seat back that is needed.
Shortly after purchasing my 2018 Nissan Altima (new), there was a recall concerning the passenger side airbag. I took the car to the dealer and had it serviced. Months later, there was a second recall and I took it back promptly; however, the dealer said that nothing was wrong. It was already serviced. I indicated that I had received a second notice. Some time passed, and the same airbag light indicator came on and stayed on. I took my vehicle back to the dealer. This time, they wanted to charge me thousands of dollars. I indicated that this is the same problem from the beginning and I was going to file a lawsuit. The dealer claimed to have fixed the sensor and told me it was a complimentary charge based on "goodwill". The same sensor light is on again. I have had no accidents and I have not had my car serviced for any electrical issues. It was inspected and passed with a warning to get the sensor taken care of. The original dealer has now sold to another Nissan dealer. I need to be sure that I am safe should I have a situation where the passenger side airbag needs to deploy. This is not fair to me. I have never bought a used car and this is the first car I have continuously had unresolved issues with. Please advise.
Vehicle turned off on a red light. The vehicle was on drive, my foot on the brake waiting for the green light, the car then died while waiting. Check engine light is on.
For the transmission I was driving at normal speed in the freeway when out of no where the car started to jerk and lost power I almost got hit by the car behind me it was a traumatizing experience for me and my son I haven’t gotten my car to get repaired because as a single mother it is very hard on me and with the suspension it had been making loud squeezing noise from my rear suspension and it has gotten worst now it’s embarrassing to be driving my daughters father in law also had an Altima and it had the same suspension issues
My back doors do not lock with the FOB or the interior door lock/unlock button. I have to manually unlock and lock my rear doors. This is a defect that Nissan is well aware of and seems to not care. My car only has 63,000 miles on it.
Cvt transmission, yes its available for inspection. Loss complete horsepower on highway after it jerked. Kids in car at time. Took it to the autozone to get printout after check engine light came on, then took it next morning to dealership which did confirm that my transmission is in failure. Have printout confirming my concern. No lights were on I had just an oil change before getting on the highway.
I want formally lodge a complaint regarding a serious issue with a 2018 Nissan Altima that I purchased from a Nissan dealership on [XXX]. The vehicle, which had 107,000 miles at the time of purchase, has exhibited a critical failure. On [XXX], while I was accelerating to change lanes in rush hour traffic, the car began jerking and suddenly slowed down. This malfunction nearly resulted in a dangerous collision with an 18-wheeler and caused me to be run off the road. This incident could have been catastrophic, and it deeply concerns me, especially since this vehicle was intended for my daughter's commute to and from school. Following this, I had the car towed to the Nissan dealership and was informed that it requires a new transmission. I am shocked to learn that the cost to replace the transmission is $6,200. This is particularly distressing given that I purchased the car less than four months ago and was unaware of the known issues with the CVT transmission. It is unacceptable that vehicles with faulty transmissions are still being sold without adequate warning or extended warranties. Nissan should be required to provide clear disclaimers about potential transmission issues before a sale. The lack of transparency and the high cost of repairs are deeply troubling. Given the severity of this situation and the potential risks involved, I believe that Nissan should take immediate action to address these concerns. The warranty should be extended, and there should be clear warnings provided to potential buyers about the risks associated with the transmission. The current lack of empathy and action from Nissan is disappointing and unacceptable. I urge you to review this situation promptly and provide a satisfactory resolution. UNKNOWN air bags lights turn off and on on the passenger side. No air bag light remains on all of the time of the driver side
Air bag dash warning light came on. Brought to dealer. They"fixed". Light came back on few days later. brought back to dealer. They said drivers side seat frame with air bag needs to be replaced. they ordered part & said 2 week wait. Called dealer back 2 weeks later & they said part not released by Nissan. Called Nissan consumer affairs. They informed me they have no ETA when parts will be available/shipped. Been about 2 months since first contact with dealer & have no idea if/when will be repaired. See recalls on older Altima & am wondering if this is an issue Nissan is not addressing.
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the headlights were not functioning properly. The contact stated that the headlights were very dim. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the hood latch inadvertently unlatched, and the hood raised up and fell onto the windshield and cracked the windshield. The contact was able to drive a short distance to the residence. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the windshield was replaced. The contact stated that she was informed by the Insurance provider that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V315000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages); however, the contact never received the recall notification letter. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.
My airbag light is on..
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving from a stop sign and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated to respond as intended. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle was jerking for several minutes. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer but was not diagnosed since the check engine warning light was not illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Dealership sold me a car that had faulty air bags but neither the manufacturer nor a dealership is wanting to correct the problem. Please help.
Car started acting strangely on the way to work one morning, rpms would jump all over, it started to jerk, judder, slow to accelerate. That evening it did the same a few minutes after driving it. Got it to a local trusted mechanic who test drive and ran an OBD2 diagnostic check, which returned a P17F0 code. He told me it's serious CVT issues and referred me to the local Nissan dealership. The next day they called with the same diagnosis, CVT failure. Car was around 99,500 miles. The horrible extended warranty company I chose wouldn't honor it, said the car was fine. Nissan dealer argued that it WAS CVT failure and could cause a hazard. Nevertheless, I picked it up on 05/02. The next evening on the way home from work, in heavy traffic at 50 mph, it started lurching, crazy rpms, shuddering, going into neutral then back to D. As I was turning into a packing lot to stop, the CVT completely failed. The car wouldn't accelerate and left me at an almost stand-still in the middle of the left turn, as incoming traffic nearly crashed into me. A motorist helped push it into the parking lot, where it was towed back to Nissan... where it still sits today with a shot CVT. Nissan refused to help or offer any goodwill assistance even though it nearly caused multiple collisions. The car has been maintained perfectly, with CVT service performed at 65k miles and another at 95k miles. NHTSA should mark this issue as a safety hazard as a car that suddenly loses power puts families in danger. A modern car that can't even reach 100k miles before a major failure is pathetic. And Nissan having known about this issue for 10+ years (as made evident by the multiple lawsuits) should be held accountable. One day this massive CVT issue is going to seriously injure someone, or worse.
Brake switch failure contributed to intermitten braking resulting in near crashes
As I was driving on a highway, my sunglasses and light compartment on my roof completely fell out of my roof in front of my windshield view. I contacted Nissan and they stated that they could do absolutely nothing for me. Did not have any concerns regarding the fact that it almost caused me to get into an accident as it came swinging right in front of me and almost hit me and my head. This is also a very common issue when you look it up online with these vehicles.
I purchased Milestar tires model ms932 sport in 2021 size 235/45/18. In Jan.2024 my tire pressure indicator light came on and I pulled over and changed the tire to my spare and took the tire to my tire dealer and it had to be replaced with another tire due to the sidewall separating on the inside of the tire. The tire was on the front of the passenger side of the car. There was still plenty of tread wear on the tire. About a month later the same thing happened to another of the milestar tires. This time it was on the front driver's side. When this happened to the second tire, I took the car into the tire dealer and upon inspection it appears to be that the tires are going to do the same thing on the other two.

The system that’s got the issue is the backup camera. When I’m backing up periodically, all of a sudden it’ll go black or really dim to where I’m not able to see anything. I never know when it’s going to go black or dim, but it will happen when I’m backing up. I noticed that there was a recall while looking at credit carma. It stated that it had a recall, but when I called the Nissan customer service, I was told my car doesn’t have any recalls. My car has this same issue, but for some reason my car wasn’t included in the recall, when it should’ve been. I feel that this is a hazard for me, but yet for some reason Nissan doesn’t think so, since my vehicle wasn’t included in that recall. I don’t have any pictures because I don’t know when or where it may happen— for instance out shopping when I’m backing into a parking space using my camera it’ll go black or really dim. Then this scars me because I’m in the middle of backing and not knowing how close I’ve gotten to the vehicle behind me.
When backing up, often times my rear camera screen goes black and I’m unable to see anything. It is not consistent and sometimes it appears to be distorted like a tv channel trying to clear. There have been no accidents and the most recent incident was on 1/3/24. I see there is a recall for cars as early as 2019 for the same issue, however, my 2018 vehicle is experiencing the same thing.
I was riding down the road and the interior overhead dome light just fell out and was hanging. It was hanging right by my head. I researched this issue and it seems to be a REGULAR occurrence in these cars and the dealer wanted to charge me to fix it even though I have a warranty.
Vehicle turned off while driving. Battery disconnected as the battery terminal connector got lose. after a quick clean-up of the terminal corrosion, it was obvious that the terminal has completely deteriorated (corroded) and has no more strength to hold a good contact to the battery terminal.
Occupant Sensor for Airbags is not working and airbag light is on, this is a safety issue which can cause loss of life in an accident this needs recalled immediately
The transmission would shift into neutral while driving down the road, loosing power to the drive train. This happened multiple times on the interstate at higher speeds in the left lane. Cars following came close to hitting me because of the sudden loss of power and speed. Talking with multiple transmission shops and a dealership they stated it was a common problem in the Nissan Altimas. Brought it into a independent transmission repair. First try was a flush and fluid replacement, after a day the issue returned. Next they replaced the transmission with only about 75,000 miles. No warning lights or messages about the failure.
I bought my car in February 2021 and me not knowing anything about vehicles I first heard the popping noise when I backed my car out of the driveway.I thought it was something to do with the steering wheel. I recently had someone to look at the car and they said it was my front axles going bad, this could be a safety issue. I have to work with mentally challenged people and I have to transport them back-and-forth to doctors appointments. Is there anyway that there could be a recall on those axles because I know someone else who has an Altima just like mine and hers does the same thing . It’s very embarrassing to hear that popping noise and I’m afraid that my car will break down because of it and my front crash light stays on constantly. Please help me resolve this issue. I’ve been dealing with it since I bought the car..
My airbag light recently came on after driving through some standing water and I have tried filing through my insurance company and they have stated that due to the fact that water wasnt submerged inside my car, it was due to the age of my vehicle (which is only 5 years old). I am concerned about this obviously as it is my driver side airbag. They are trying to tell me in insurance that it is a Nissan issue so I’m wondering if anything can be done so that I can feel safe to drive my vehicle.
Airbag warning light comes on and off. Vehicle has 33,000 miles and side airbag spring / module is faulty
AIR BAGS WARNING LIGHT IS ON DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG MODULE REPLACED AIR BAG COULD HAVE DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the passenger’s side air bag warning light was turned off, and the contact was informed that the front passenger’s side air bag was adjusted; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bag needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.
Brake light switch went out 3 months after getting car. Car would not start then after it started it would not go in gear nor would the brake lights turn on dealership repaired it. The Brake light switch went out again one year later while driving causing my brake lights not to turn on resulting in me getting rear ended after. After I replaced the switch for the second time. It lasted maybe a year and a half or so and went out again leaving me stranded having to get a tow truck to bring car home and had to replace it a third time. I’ve had this car less than 5 years and I really believe it needs further review of the switch due to the safety risk it causes
First thing in the morning the car makes a rattling noise when cold and smell of fumes coming thru car vents. Took car in Jan. 30, dealership bent heat shield. Bought car back Feb. 20 for now clicking noise was told heating shield needs to be replaced! This had to be preexisting and this car was sold to me in this condition! Now I have to pay over $1,000.00 that I don't have?!?
When pressing the brakes the push button does not start the car. The car also will not shift from park to drive even if the brakes are pressed. There are no warning lights and the problem has been “fixed” once by a Nissan dealership already but it is a recurring issue. This problem is ongoing since October 2022
The CVT transmission failed at the light in mid drive. The car started to roll backwards down a highway exit in traffic. I had to blow the horn and scream out the window to keep from hitting other cars. As the car ascended down the hill, it completely stopped midway and I was unable to remove it from the street. I had to place my hazardous lights on, and push the car off the ramp. I had a Nissan dealership review the vehicle and in return they stated that the actual belt in the CVT was worn down or completely gone and that the entire CVT transmission would have to be fixed. There was no warnings that happened to notify me that there was an actual issue with the vehicle. In addition, I do have a 2015 Nissan Altima who is now showing possible issues with the CVT transmission and it has less than 90,000 miles
While I was driving my power steering went out completely on the interstate right when I went to turn almost causing an accident where I could have been severely injured or injured others around me. Prior to the failure my front vehicle obstruction light has been coming on and off multiple times while driving but other than that no warning signs of power steering going out.
With a little under 68,000 miles on my 2018 Nissan Altima the transmission started shuttering and slipping. No lights came on the dash but the car was difficult to control. After going to get some dry gas and see if it was motor related the car made a loud squealing noise, the check engine light came on and then the car shuttered the rest of the way home . The car goes in to the Nissan dealership in two days. They told me that I hadn't brought it in to have the transmission for it's 60,000 mile flush but I never recieved a notification. in addition, the car went in for a hood latch replacement at that time but nothing was said then. The car could easily be dangerous if this happened while driving in traffic or trying to pull into traffic.
2018 NISSAN ALTIMA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO HOOD LATCH SAFETY RECALL.
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that on multiple occasions while his son was idled, he depressed the accelerator pedal, but the engine failed to engage. No warning lights was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
My transmission began shuddering then next couple days when I put the car in reverse it would stick and when I put it in drive it would hesitate to move. Then when it did move it wouldn’t get up to at least 55 miles per hour. Took it to Nissan, put it on the rack ($170) test indicated that transmission was shot
Battery cables corrosion is awful. I have replaced my battery three times since buying this car in 2018
The airbag light keeps coming on in the dashboard. I’ve had it in the shop twice for the diagnostic test and both times they said there was nothing they could find! Now it’s the 3rd time I will need to take it in and leave it and it’s the only car I have. I want to know if indeed my airbags will work in the event of an accident! If they are just turning the light off, I have no idea what will happen if I got into an accident!!
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and making a left turn on a dark road, the low beam headlights were significantly dim, causing the contact to miss her turn. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring. Additionally, the contact stated that the low beam headlights were being blown very quickly. The driver's side low beam headlight was replaced twice and the passenger's side low beam headlight was replaced once within the past 6-months. The contact received an unknown notice from the manufacturer for the repair of the parts. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the low beam headlights needed to be replaced; however, the parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
The driver seat airbag seems to be disabled. I am seeing a airbag warning light for driver airbag in the dashboard. The dealership doesnt see to car and a 4yr old car should not have airbag issues when it has never been in an accident. The driver seat seatbelt also seems to be disabled, if i step on the break the seatbelt doesnt seem to be gripping me its still freely moving which it shouldnt be. This is a big safety issue and seems to be a manufacturing defect.
My 2018 Nissan Altima just now reached 100,000 miles on it. I was heading home from work on the interstate when my RPMs started revving up and down and it felt I lost power when I was hitting the gas. My transmission started sputtering, vibrating, slipping. When I place it in drive or reverse now it takes time to go in gear. I took my car to get regular maintenance such as oil change and fluids to see if it was the transmission fluid. The dealership maintenance department did the maintenance and fluids and my car is still doing the same. I asked of the transmission fluid was low I was told it wasn't and I stated about the transmission acting up and was told by the worker yeah I could tell when I took it back and brought it up. The worker stated it was probably the CVT in my car and it costs $5500 to fix and stated this was an issue on models before mine that got extended warranties and the issues was taking place in the model of my vehicle but no extended warranty. This CVT is something that continues to mess up in Nissan and in the 2018 and current models. Either there needs to be a recall or extended warranties or both.
I was rear-ended in my car while at a red light. The car hit me 35 mph plus., Pushing me into the Tahoe in front of me. My shoulder strap driver side DID NOT restrain me and NONE of the air bags deployed. I flew forward towards the steering wheel and dash. Do to me being very short I didn't get hurt, just stiff neck, shoulders. The collision company who did my work stated that the seatbelt should have restrained me and at least 1 airbag should have deployed. I contacted Nissan and I was told that the air bags and seatbelts are only suppose to work in a roll over to prevent from being thrown from the vehicle and that the airbags and seatbelts are working properly. Nissan never offered to check to make sure that the safety components are working properly. There were no warning lights on before or after the accident. Over $10,000 worth of damage was done.
2018 Nissan Altima and Sentra cars have faulty continuously variable transmissions (CVTs) that cause juddering, shuddering, clunking, jerking and acceleration problems. This happen while driving on the highway at a speed of 75 mph. This caused me swerve and almost rear ended by another car.
Gear shift will not leave park when car is first started, usually when vehicle is cold.
The rear trunk latch will not close and latch so the trunk is left wide open
the lighting isn’t good on the car! if I don’t have them on bright I cannot see
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while the vehicle had been parked in the driveway for three months, however, a crack developed on the windshield. The contact stated that no object had impacted the windshield to cause the crack. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 12,846.
i can be driving down the road and pass a guard rail or some other thing on the side of the road but usually a guard rail near my house and it knocks out the emergency braking system. sometimes, it may work my whole trip, other days, i may only go a mile or two before it goes out.
On February 7, 2022, my daughter was driving her 2018 Nissan Altima and was involved in an accident. It was a head-on collision, but the airbags didn’t deploy and, as a result, she was thrown forward into the steering wheel which caused severe trauma to her head.
On several occasions my vehicle fails to accelerate putting passengers and myself in grave danger. Nissan mechanics say they cannot replicate my incidents however they are aware that the problem exists with CVT engines made by Nissan. Nissan of America refuses to acknowledge that there is a problem although thousands of people have posted exact issue on owners forums for years.
OCS system is faulty causing the airbags for the passenger to disengage. I am out of warranty for mileage at the time of the problem by 6,000. The car was 3 years old and it is an on going problem again. OCS switch showing improper voltage and cannot be reset unless the factory mechanic does the reset which holds me, the owner, responsible for the diagnostic fee. Additionally, the faulty parts may have to be replaced at my expense as well if it turns out to be a more than a software glitch. There has been recalls for 2016 and prior for the same issue and a recall for 2018 models is happening again.
The problem of delayed acceleration. The problem occurs when the vehicle does not seem to accelerate for a short period of time. When I'm at a stop. and I depresses the pedal. The vehicle does not rev. It does not do anything for a few seconds. Even with increased force on the pedal, the vehicle does not move. The second concern is that, once it does move, it does so significantly with a jolt. This means that, after a few seconds of not functioning, the vehicle will suddenly accelerate quickly. This can create an increased risk of an accident.
The car doesn't move and the car shakes above 55 miles and I can smell smoke under the hood.
Just bought the car
My car's airbag light came on and would not go off. I took it to the dealership and was told that the sensor in my passengar seat that detects the weight of some one in the seat is not working. Because of this sensor failing, my air bags will not deploy if the car is involved in an accident. It puts me at a safety risk because air bags will not provide protection to me or passengars riding in my vehicle if I am in a accident. This problem has been confirmed by the dealership. I don't know if the manufacter has inspected the issue or not. There were no other warning lights, messages, or other symptoms prior to this issue.
The airbag safety system has failed in my car. When a passenger or driver is in the car. The weight sensors and seatbelt sensors that activate the the airbag system fail to activate. This is something that I caught and mentioned it to a Nissan dealer when my car was in for service on another recall for hood latches. This is something that not only puts risk to passenger and driver in my car. But puts others at risk as well. Nissan and the extended warranty company have failed to correct the issue. As my safety is now at risk if I get into an accident and my airbags do not deploy. The issue is that the weight sensors and modulator have gone bad. The total cost just for those two things is around $585, by the time you add in airbag system replacement it comes to around $5000 to $7000. I would like this looked at due to the cause it is a preventative measure that be taken if we take that action now. This is on the 2018 model. I am willing to help in anyway I can with the investigation.
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power without warning. The contact coasted to the side of the road and was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be repaired. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 69,000.
CVT transmission failure while in transport. It put my family at risk being stranded on busy highway. No warning lights or indication of issue except vehicle stopped performing effectively. The dealer acknowledged issues in this and other models and had transmission repaired at my cost. Vehicle was diagnosed by dealer which using OBD they found transmission failure codes..
According to Nissan dealership My 2018 Nissan Altima CVT failed. They were able to determined the failed cvt with a diagnosis code P17F0. I have 73,694 miles on my car and my warranty ended at 60,000 miles. In previous years model of the Nissan Altima there were recalls on CVT transmissions for the Nissan Altimas. Nissan stated being that my car is out of warranty the only thing they can do is give me 50% good will because my VIN number is different from the other Nissan Altima that had a failed CVT. I don’t feel that it was good will being that my car did not reach 100,000 miles and I’m already having an issue that has been a problem In the past. I keep up with the maintenance of my vehicle very well and this problem occurred out of the blue. I also spoke with Nissan about the current recall on my car being that I have to drive a car around and my hood could possibly fly off at any giving time. Me being a Nissan customer with such a dangerous vehicle that Nissan continues to have issues with is more good will than they’ve offered. I honestly would not recommend such an unsafe vehicle to anyone who is interested in purchasing a Nissan Altima. My car is fairly new and I’m having CVT issues. My car literally stopped in the middle of the road and would not accelerate because of a mechanically failing CVT. I highly recommend that Nissan Recall any vehicles that have CVT issues especially since it’s been a repeating cycle. I hope this doesn’t go unnoticed. Thank you
The brake light switch fails which will not allow me to start vehicle with push start. Already replaced switch once while vehicle under warranty. Now around 60,000 miles it started failing intermittently. I have been stranded numerous times, sometimes in dangerous situations with car not starting. I have been stranded in parking lots in bad neighborhoods and in airport parking lots. There is no alternative to starting the car without engaging the brake, so when this switch fails you have no way to start vehicle. You get no warnings that it has failed or to tell what the problem is. I have spoken with dealer and described what vehicle is doing and they agree that the problem is the brake light switch again.
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Altima. The contact stated upon entering the vehicle, the ignition switch failed to operate as designed. The contact was unable to start the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with the brake pedal switch needing to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and informed the contact that they would escalate the claim. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000. The VIN was not available.
2018 Nissan Altima 24,864 miles. Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) system keeps turning on and off. Contacted dealership and they said it was a dirty bumper/sensor, clean sensor location and continue to use vehicle. If issue persisted set up appointment with dealership to have looked at. Cleaned front bumper and continued to operate. FEB lamp continued to indicate error and turn itself on and off. Set up appointment of have vehicle inspected. Dealership confirmed that sensor was bad and needed to be replaced. The FEB sensor was not covered as warranty expired 18 days before dealership diagnosed problem. Informed them that contacted the dealership prior to the warranty expiration and was told it was a dirty bumper and sensor. Contacted previous owner of vehicle and confirmed that they had reported issue and dealership and informed them to just clean bumper and sensor location. Nissan did not see the FEB sensor error as a concern but there were two other factory recalls (hood latch and back up camera) that were safety concerns and recalls for. With FEB being faulty, the safety feature is disabled and would not help prevent injury in an emergency braking situation!!!
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact attempted to start the vehicle, but the vehicle would not start. The contact pressed the start button and depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle failed to start-up. After multiple attempts the vehicle eventually started however, the failure recurred several times. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer who inspected the vehicle and diagnosed the failure as a faulty brake sensor. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 36,000.
Airbag light is on & I had a diagnostic completed. The diagnostic indicated problem with front passenger seat sensor. Nissan has a safety recall on some Airbags, however not on my 2018 model.
The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Altima. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V315000 (Latches/ Locks/ Linkages) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact contacted two dealers Route 46 Nissan (440 US-46, Totowa, NJ 07512) and another dealer but was informed by both dealers that parts were not available. The contact had not experienced a failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

WHILE DRIVING HOME AND JUST ENTERING MY NEIGHBORHOOD, I NOTICED A LOW TIRE WARNING ON MY DASHBOARD. I LOOKED AT THE PRESSURE AND THERE WAS APPROXIMATELY 26 POUNDS STILL IN THE TIRE AND THE CLOSEST PLACE TO FILL UP WAS AT MY HOUSE. WHILE APPROACHING A RIGHT TURN IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND BECAUSE OF THE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS OF SNOW AND ICE ON THE ROAD, I SLOWED DOWN TO A CRAWL AND APPLIED MY BRAKE PRIOR TO AND WHILE TURNING. WHILE IN THE BEGINNING OF MY TURN, I INSTANTLY REALIZED THAT I HAD NO CONTROL OF MY CAR AND I SLID INTO A SNOW BANK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT I WAS GOING TOO SLOW FOR MY CAR TO SLIDE. I WAS RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD FROM MY HOME SO I CONTINUED HOME THINKING I COULD NOT HAVE HAD SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE; HOWEVER, AS I WAS DRIVING, MY RIDE DID NOT FEEL NORMAL EVEN THOUGH I WAS TRAVELING AT A VERY SLOW PACE. WHEN I GOT INTO MY GARAGE, I FOUND MY TIRE WAS COMPLETELY FLAT AND THE DAMAGE WAS SIGNIFICANT TO MY FRONT DRIVER SIDE BUMPER. THE NEXT MORNING I REMOVED MY TIRE TO SEE WHERE THE PUNCTURE WAS AND IF IT WAS REPAIRABLE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION AND WHILE FILLING THE TIRE WITH AIR, I REALIZED THERE WAS NO HOLE IN THE TIRE BUT THERE WAS A FAST AIR LEAK AT THE RIM. ON MONDAY MORNING, FEBRUARY 15, 2021 I BROUGHT MY TIRE IN FOR REPAIR. I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT A DEFECT EXIST IN MY TIRE AND WHEN I LOOKED TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL, I REALIZED THAT THE SAME TIRE I HAVE ON MY VEHICLE IS SHOWN ON THE RECALL LIST BUT IT IS FOR 2019 TIRES AND NOT 2018. PLEASE LOOK INTO MY COMPLAINT AND CONCERN. IF I HAD BEEN TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY, I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN KILLED. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER MY VEHICLE WHEN THE AIR WENT OUT AT THE RIM. MY TIRE IS A CONTINENTAL CONTIPROCONTACT P215/60R16 94T ALL SEASON DOT 6YX8 3YD 2018. THE TIRE SAYS MADE IN SLOVAKIA. OTHER NUMBERS ON THE TIRE WERE 3-979 84579 230385 E4 0231843.

NOW THE STEERING WHEEL GOES ALL AROUND AND IS COMPLETELY LOOSE.I CANNOT DRIVE IN THE HIGHWAY IT BECOMES WORSE FOR SOME REASON. ALSO WHEN I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR, IT SEEMS AS THE CAR GOES AHEAD OF ME AND I ROCK BACK A BIT AND THE SPEED CONTROL ARROW MOVES UP AND DOWN IN CONSISTENTLY. I ALSO HAD TO CHANGE THE BRAKES ABOUT A MONTH AGO. THIS IS A 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA. I RECEIVED THE VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 39000 MILES. THE CAR FEELS LOPSIDED TOO.
AUTOMATIC BREAKING WILL SHUT OFF FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES ON OCCASION; ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING TOWARDS AN EMBANKMENT (I.E. MAKING A LEFT TURN AND THERE'S AN ISLAND THERE).
THE START STOP BUTTON THAT YOU PRESS TO START THE CAR MESSES UP AND DOES NOT START THE CAR . EVEN IF YOU DO IT MULTIPLE TIMES , AND THE (PARK REVERSE NEUTRAL DRIVE) PRND LEVER WON'T MOVE
SINCE I PURCHASED THIS 2018 ALTIMA (I HAD PREVIOUSLY DRIVEN A 2016 ALTIMA WITHOUT AEB), I HAVE GOTTEN FALSE POSITIVES FROM THE FRONT SENSOR, STOPPING MY CAR AT RANDOM TIMES IN CLEAR DAY LIGHT TRAFFIC, ON DRY PAVEMENT, WITH NO LEAVES OR OTHER ROAD DEBRIS. FRONT SENSOR HAS CONTINUOUSLY REPORTED THE "FRONT SENSOR NOT AVAILABLE" ALERT MULTIPLE TIMES IN MY CARS SHORT LIFETIME, FOLLOWED BY THE CRASH ICON AT RANDOM TIMES OF THE DAYS, AND ALL SPEEDS INCLUDING IN THE STOPPED POSITION. THE SENSOR GOES OUT REGARDLESS OR WHETHER THERE ARE OTHER VEHICLES AROUND. I REPORTED THESE ISSUES BEGINNINGIN OCTOBER 2018 (THE SAME MONTH I PURHCASED MY CAR). NO NISSAN VEHICLE SHOULD BE EQUIPPED WITH THE TECHNOLOGY WHERE DRIVER'S HAD NO CLUE WHEN THE VEHICLES WILL COME TO A HALT AND LOCK WITHOUT WARNING. THIS COMMONLY HAPPENS WHEN THERE ARE CARS AROUND ME AND THERE IS A CHANGE IN SPEED (ANTICIPATED OR NTO), WHICH IS COMMON IN LA. MY FRONT SENSOR HAS MALFUNCTIONED SEVERAL TIMES AND ENGAGED THE BRAKES, SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 50MPH. MY CAR ALSO SEEMS TO LUG AT TIMES WHEN I BRAKE FROM A DISTANCE AND NORMALLY WHICH CONCERNS ME. I HAVE REPORTED THIS ISSUES TO TECHNICIANS AND HAD THE BRAKES CHECKED WITH NO PROBLEMS FOUND SO I HAVE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO WAIT FOR THE ISSUES WITH MY BRAKES AND CAR TO COMPILE. THE OWNER'S MANUAL ADMITS AEB SYSTEMS DO "NOT FUNCTION IN ALL DRIVING, TRAFFIC, WEATHER, AND ROAD CONDITIONS" BUT THE MANUAL LEAVES OUT THE PART ABOUT HOW THE SYSTEMS CAN CAUSE VEHICLES TO SUDDENLY STOP EVEN WHEN NO OBJECTS ARE IN THE DRIVING LANE. I ORIGINALLY REPORTED THIS ISSUE TO STEVE YAEGER ON OCTOBER 19, 2018--THE SAME MONTH I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. HAVE BROUGHT IN MY VEHICLE INTO TO NISSAN VARIOUS TIMES IN THE FIRST 3 MONTHS BUT TECHNICIANS ALWAYS TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO AND JUST SHAKE OFF MY CONCERNS/TRY TO GIVE EXPLANATIONS.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING AROUND MY CITY (SAN JOSE,CA), THE STEERING WHEN I TURN LEFT IT RIGHT STARTING SHAKING.... IT'S NOT NORMAL BECAUSE THE CAR WAS GOOD. AND NOW I CAN'T GO TOO FAR WITH THAT ISSUE.

I BEGAN EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH WHAT WE BELIEVE TO BE MY BREAK SWITCH, AND WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD 3 OF MY BREAKS LOCKED UP, ALSO TAKING AWAY MY ABILITY TO STOP.
2018 NISSAN ALTIMA SL WHILE DRIVING IN RAIN THE MESSAGE 'FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION,' APPEARS. VEHICLE BEGINS TO SHAKE AND THE BACK BRAKES ENGAGE WITHOUT TOUCHING THEM. VEHICLE TRIES TO HYDROPLANE. VEHICLE SLOWS TO APPROX 35 OR 40 MILES PER HOUR. IT FEELS LIKE THE BACK PASSENGERS WHEEL IS LOCKED UP. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 7 MONTHS. THE AEB SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED. THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES SINCE THE REPLACEMENT. ALWAYS WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN.
BACKUP CAMERA WORKS ON AND OFF. SOMETIMES NOTHING BUT BLACK
THE FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION SENSOR, WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION, TURNS OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON, AT ANY TIME OR PLACE, HIGHWAY OR LOCAL ROADS. MANY TIMES IT TURNS OFF IF I PASS A CAR INTO AN OPEN ROAD. THIS WILL AFFECT THE AEB SYSTEM. NISSAN DEALER HAS STATED THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE A FIX OR A RECALL FOR MY 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA.
FOWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING (FEB) SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONING OR INOPERABLE/UNAVAILABLE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY. WHEN THIS OCCURS, AN ORANGE SYMBOL LIGHT IN THE DASH ILLUMINATES AND I AM UNABLE TO USE THE CRUISE CONTROL OR THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM. THE FEB SEEMS TO RETURN TO NORMAL WHEN I STOP THE VEHICLE AND RESTART THE ENGINE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED WHEN HE WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE FOR BACK PAINS AND FACIAL INJURIES. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF INJURES TO THE OTHER VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER HERITAGE NISSAN (1500 VETERANS MEMORIAL HWY NE, ROME, GA 30161 706-291-1981) AND THEY SAID THE DAMAGE WOULD COST OVER $10,000 TO FIX. THEY WELDED THE FRAME BACK TOGETHER EVEN THOUGH THEY SHOULD HAVE TOTALED THE VEHICLE. THEY REPAIRED THE VEHICLE WITH USED PARTS AND THE CONTACT NOTICED THE SUBPAR WORK WHEN HE GOT HIS VEHICLE BACK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS LEFT A MESSAGE TO CALLBACK THE CONTACT BUT NO RETURN CALL HAD OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE PERFORMS POORLY WITH THE REPAIRS BY THE DEALER. THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD NOT RESPONDED TO THE CONTACT'S ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,000. *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE REPAIRS WERE MADE BY THE REPAIR SHOP NOT THE DEALER. *TR
CRASH WARNING RADAR KEEPS GOING IN AND OUT OF DETECTION. IT WILL START IN MODE CORRECTLY AND THEN BECOME UNAVAILABLE ESPECIALLY WHEN IT RAINS OR AT HIGH SPEEDS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVAILING AT 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY CEASED WHICH CAUSED THE CONTACT TO HIT HIS HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT SUFFERED INJURIES TO HIS NECK AND BACK BUT HE DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE FLIP INDICATOR AND THE ABS WARNING LIGHTS BOTH ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO SOUTH AUSTIN NISSAN (4914 S IH 35 FRONTAGE RD, AUSTIN, TX 78745) WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A PISTON SENSOR FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD ALSO BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DENIED THAT THIS PARTICULAR DEFECT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ABRUPTLY CEASE. THEY REFERRED HIM BACK TO THE DEALER WHO DISPUTE THE CLAIM THAT WAS MADE BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED OUT OF POCKET. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,171.

WHEN I FIRST PICKED UP MY CAR THE STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY STIFF SO I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT IT THE SAME DAY- I WAS TOLD IT WAS PROBABLY THE ALIGNMENT AND TO NOT BRING IT BACK. AND IF I DID, THEY MAY CHARGE ME TO LOOK AT. ABOUT 2 MONTHS LATER I HAD BEEN NOTICING MY CAR WOULD MAKE AN ODD NOISE AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES OF DRIVING AND WHEN I WOULD BRAKE. THE DEALERSHIP DIDN?T HAVE TIME TO LOOK AT MY CAR SO I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC TO CHECK IF THERE WAS SOMETHING IN BRAKES THAT WAS MAKING THE NOISE. THEY ADVISED ME TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP AS THE NOISE WAS NOT COMING FROM MY BRAKES BUT AROUND MY TRANSMISSION- WHICH WARRANTY WOULD COVER. I FINALLY GOT AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD I WOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM TO CHECK IT ***IF NOTHING WAS WRONG***. MID DAY AFTER DROPPING THE CAR OFF THE NIGHT BEFORE- I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULDN'T HEAR ANY NOISE AND TO EITHER LEAVE IT WITH THEM OR TAKE IT HOME AND IF IT?S MAKES THE NOISE TO BRING IT BACK. SO I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING AND I WAS GIVEN THAT OPTION AGAIN. THE MECHANIC WALKED BACK TO PULL THE CAR AROUND AND NOT EVEN 5 MINUTES LATER HE RETURNS TO SAY AS SOON AS HE STARTED THE CAR- HE HEARD IT. AND IT WAS LOUD ENOUGH TO HEAR THROUGH MUSIC (WHICH IT WASN'T REALLY AT THE TIME) AND TO LEAVE IT FOR IT TO BE CHECKED AGAIN. I WAS THEN TOLD A DAY LATER THAT MY POWER STEERING PUMP WOULD NEED TO REPLACED AND THAT IT WOULD WELL OVER 1K. THEY DIDN'T NOT OFFER AN APOLOGY OR HELP. INSTEAD THEY CHARGED ME WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP THE CAR AND WERE RUDE. I HAD ASKED FOR MY PAPERWORK AS WELL AS THEY DIDN'T PROVIDE IT TO ME WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR, I WAS MET WITH INCREDIBLE RUDENESS AND BADGERING. I DID REACH OUT TO NISSAN CORPORATE FOR MONTHS WITH NO RESOLUTION. THE LAST I HEARD WAS FROM AN AGENT THAT HE ASKED THEM TO PROVIDE ME WITH THE PAPERWORK, BUT HE COULDN'T GUARANTEE THEY WOULD. I WAS OFFERED NO FURTHER HELP. *TR
AFTER 10 MIN OF OPERATION AND AT A REGULAR SPEED IN A FRW 55 MPH THE COLLUSION SENSOR COMES UP STATING THAT THERE IS NO WARNING IF A CAR IS TOO CLOSE TO THE FRONT OF VEHICLE. CRUISE CONTROL DOESN'T WORK AND APPEARS THAT WORKS WITH THE COLLUSION SENSOR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PUSH TO START FEATURE FAILED TO OPERATE AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS DEPRESSING THE PUSH TO START BUTTON THE VEHICLE STARTED AND OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GRAND BLANC NISSAN (8346 HOLLY RD, GRAND BLANC, MI 48439, (810)893-6510) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A DEFECTIVE STOP LAMP SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,344.
THE BACKUP CAMERA WOULD NOT WORK. CAMERA SCREEN WAS BLACK IN REVERSE MODE. SOMETIMES THE SCREEN GET STATIC LINES AND THEN BLACKS OUT. I NEED THE BACKUP CAMERA VERY MUCH BECAUSE I HAVE LIMITED TWISTING AT MY WAIST.
I LEASED A 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA (FROM NISSAN) ON 3/24/18. APPROX 12K MILES INTO LEASING THE VEHICLE I HAD A BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH/BRAKE LAMP SWITCH (BRAKE SWITCH) GO BAD. THE VEHICLE IS A PUSH TO START VEHICLE AND THE BRAKE SWITCH IS A SENOR ABOVE THE BRAKE THAT WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE BRAKE, IT TELLS THE VEHICLE THAT YOUR PRESSING THE BRAKE TO START THE VEHICLE. THE PART WAS BACK ORDERED SO NISSAN AS A WHOLE HAD ZERO BRAKE SWITCHES TO REPLACE MY BAD ONE. I EXPLAINED TO THE NISSAN SERVICE REP THAT IM IN THE MILITARY AND I NEED MY VEHICLE TO DRIVE ME TO DIFFERENT DUTY LOCATIONS AND ALSO I HAVE COURT ORDERED CUSTODY IN WHICH I HAVE TO DRIVE 424 MILES TO GO SEE MY DAUGHTER AND THAT PARTICULAR WEEKEND I NEEDED MY VEHICLE TO DRIVE TO SEE HER. THE REP ADVISED ME THAT HE WOULD TAKE ONE FROM A NEW VEHICLE AND PLACE IT INTO MINES SO I COULD GO SEE MY DAUGHTER. BECAUSE HE DID THAT, THE MAINTENANCE WAS UNDOCUMENTED. AT 21,254K MILES THE PART FAILED AGAIN. CAUSING MY VEHICLE NOT TO START (IT WAS START RANDOMLY). WHEN IT DID START, I WAS NOT ABLE TO SHIFT MY VEHICLE OUT OF PARK OR SOMETIMES IF I DID GET IT INTO PARK, I COULDNT SHIFT IT FROM DRIVE OR REVERSE, CAUSING A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. ALSO WHILE DRIVING THE CARS ANTI-COLLISION BRAKING SYSTEM, WHICH WAS INCORPORATED WITH THE SWITCH, WOULD SUDDENLY CAUSE MY VEHICLE TO BRAKE (EVEN WHILE DRIVING 70MPH ON THE HIGHWAY). SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T GO OVER 30MPH. I WAS ABLE TO GET THAT FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. THE PART FAILED AGAIN AT 62,155K MILES AND AT 129,025K MILES. THE LAST TIME THE PART FAILED I ASKED THE NISSAN SERVICE REP IF THERE ANYTHING NISSAN CAN DO BECAUSE I CANT KEEP PAYING FOR THIS PART TO KEEP FAILING. I NEED MY VEHICLE TO SEE MY DAUGHTER AND TO TRAVEL FOR THE MILITARY. HE ADVISED ME TO CALL THE NISSAN CORPORATE, I CALLED AND THEY STARTED A CASE BUT THE NEXT DAY I WAS ADVISED THAT THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING.
AIR COOLING SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK. IT WILL NOT BLOW ANY COLD AIR. ATTEMPTED TO PUT FREON ONLY FOR IT TO BURST OUT A PIPE. I WAS TOLD THERE IS A LEAKAGE. WHEN DRIVING AND TRYING TO CHANGE GEARS TO DRIVE THERE IS A VERY UGLY GRINDING NOISE AND GEAR SWITCHING IS HARD. BACK UP CAMERA GOES IN AND OUT. SOMETIMES IT'S JUST A BLACK SCREEN. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN REVERSING. *TR
WE WERE DRIVING AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WE WERE NOT IN ANY KIND OF ACCIDENT. PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF, HAD PASSENGER GET OUT OF CAR AND BACK IN THEN RESTARTED THE CAR. LIGHT WENT OFF LIKE NORMAL. SHORTLY AFTER DRIVING IT CAME BACK ON AND NOW NO LONGER TURNS OFF, DISABLING MY AIR BAGS. HAVE TRIED TO NOT HAVE PASSENGERS, HAVE PASSENGERS, NOT HAVE SEAT BELT, HAVE SEAT BELT AND NOTHING FIXES IT. CHECKED THE AIRBAG FUSE AND FUSE IS INTACT. CHECKED THAT FRONT BUMPER SENSOR WAS CLEAN AND HAD NO DAMAGE. DISCONNECTED BATTERY, WAITED 15 MINUTES AND RECONNECTED. LOGHT REMAINS ILLUMINATED. TRIED TO LET THE CAR RUN FOR 20 MINUTES AND LIGHT IS STILL ILLUMINATED. RAN CAR SELF DIAGNOSTIC AND NOTHING SHOWED. UNSURE WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH TO TURN THE LIGHT ON AND CAUSE IT TO NO LONGER TURN OFF. I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND NEED TO FIND A CERTIFIED REPAIR PLACE TO HAVE IT FIXED PROPERLY.
RADAR SENSOR FOR AEB AND FCW MALFUNCTIONING, TURNING OFF AT RANDOM SITUATIONS, BRAKING WHEN NO VEHICLE IS NEAR, FALSE ALERTS CROSSING RAIL ROAD TRACKS, ETC. TOOK TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP UNDER WARRANTY BUT ISSUE WAS NOT FIXED SINCE THEY CLAIM TO BE BECAUSE OF POTENTIAL PRIOR CRASH. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPORTED IN A CRASH, AND AEB IS MALFUNCTIONING CONSTANTLY TO THE POINT WHERE IT MAY BE UNSAFE INSTEAD OF A SAFETY FEATURE.
THE FEB. FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING RADAR KEEPS DISABLING WITH THE RADAR CLEAR
VEHICLE DISPLAYS AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM NOT AVAILABLE WHILE DRIVING.
BOTH SIDE MIRRORS FOG EVERY TIME IT RAINS. EVEN IF ITS LIGHT RAIN . I'VE BEEN IN TWO NEAR FATAL ACCIDENTS REGARDING THIS MATTER. NEVER SEEN SIDE MIRRORS FOG LIKE THIS !! THEY NEED TO ISSUE A RECALL AND INSTALL ELECTRIC HEATED SIDE MIRRORS BEFORE PEOPLE START DYING! CALLED NISSAN AND THEY IGNORED ME A USUAL. I'VE BEEN DRIVING EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS IN BUSY FREEWAYS AND CANNOT SEE A THING. THE MIRROR IS MADE OF SOME CHEAP GLASS LIKE MATERIAL. THESE ARE NOT REAL MIRRORS.
THE CAR WILL NOT START USING PUSH TO START WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED. THE CAR IS AN AUTOMATIC AND THE PROBLEM IS DUE TO A FAULTY STOP LIGHT SWITCH. THE SAFETY CONCERN IS THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AND THE CAR IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD.
SINCE THE TIME THIS VEHICLE WAS NEW THE FRONTAL AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING (AEB) SYSTEM TURNS ITSELF OFF RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING REGARDLESS OF WEATHER OR ROAD CONDITIONS. ON OTHER OCCASIONS IT GIVES FALSE WARNINGS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO AUTOMATICALLY APPLY THE BRAKES TO AVOID WHAT IT CONSIDERS AN IMMINENT COLLISION HAZARD. NISSAN HAS ALSO ISSUED SERVICE BULLETINS REGARDING THIS ISSUE WITH OTHER NISSAN MODELS EQUIPPED WITH THE AEB SYSTEM.
THE VEHICLE IS FREQUENTLY NOT RECOGNIZING THAT THE BRAKE IS DEPRESSED. THE BRAKES WORK FINE BUT WITH THE CAR NOT RECOGNIZING THE BRAKE IS DEPRESSED, IT WILL NOT START (AS IT IS A PUSH BUTTON START AND THE BRAKE NEEDS TO BE DEPRESSED FOR THE CAR TO START). ALSO BECAUSE OF IT NOT RECOGNIZING THAT THE BRAKE IS DEPRESSED, IT OCCASIONALLY WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. ADDITIONALLY BECAUSE THE VEHICLE DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THAT THE BRAKE IS DEPRESSED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT WORK WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AS OTHER VEHICLES DO NOT KNOW THAT THE CAR IS BRAKING. IT HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AS WELL AS WHEN IT IS BEING DRIVEN BOTH AT LOW SPEEDS AND HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE BRAKE LIGHT SENSOR I BELIEVE IS TO BLAME FOR ALL OF THE ABOVE ISSUES. APPARENTLY IT IS FAIRLY COMMON WITH NISSAN ALTIMAS AND OTHER NISSAN VEHICLES AS WELL. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THAT PART AS IT CREATES UNSAFE CONDITIONS. THE CAR IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD AND HAS 34,000 MILES ON IT. I TRIED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW BUT THEIR FIRST AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT IS 6-8 WEEKS AWAY. I AM BRINGING IT INTO ANOTHER REPAIR FACILITY TOMORROW AS IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED URGENTLY AND CANNOT WAIT MONTHS.
NTERMITTENT FRONT RADAR. WARNING MESSAGE WILL APPEAR STATING "FRONT RADAR UNAVAILBLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION" WHEN THERE IS NOT AN OBSTRUCTION. THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHEN IT RAINS INTERMITTANTLY. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE "OBSTRUCTION" IS CLEARED AND THE SYSTEM RESUMES FUNCTIONALITY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND SHIFTED TO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND THEN LUNGED FORWARD WHILE THE RPM'S REVVED UP. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY 10 TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STAR NISSAN LOCATED AT 5757 WEST TOUHY AVENUE, NILES, IL 60714, (704) 867-8341 WHERE THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,209.
JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE THE FEB COLLISION LIGHT KEEP COMING ON WHILE DRIVING
WHEN DRIVING MY 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA, THE CAR BEEPS AND THE MESSAGE "FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION" APPEARS. THEN THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING (AEB) SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT COMES ON. IT GOES OFF AND COMES BACK ON LATER. THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE TRIP.
THE FRONT RADAR IS FAULTY AND IS CAUSING ISSUES WITH THE FRONT EMERGENCY BRAKING (FEB). THERE IS A NOTIFICATION THAT SAYS "FEB UNAVAILABLE: FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION". THIS IS CAUSING A REGULAR DISTRACTION TO THE DRIVER AND ALSO POSES IN A RISK THAT THE VEHICLE MAY AUTOMATICALLY BRAKE UNEXPECTEDLY OR NOT BRAKE IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION.
FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION APPEARS APPROXIMATELY EVERY TEN MINUTES, FOR NO REASON.
A WARNING IN THE DASH THAT SAYS, 'FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION.' THE VEHICLE DOES THIS WHILE IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE HAS 52190 MILES ON IT AT THIS TIME. THE WARNING WILL RESET WHEN TURNING OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTING. THERE ARE NO ITEMS OBSTRUCTED. NISSAN DEALERSHIP STATED VERY COMMON AND REPLACING A LOT OF THEM. $1200 IS THE COST OF REPAIR QUOTED AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR KNEW THAT WITHOUT LOOKING IT UP. THIS HAS TO DO WITH THE RADAR SENSOR THAT IS USED FOR THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM.
FRONT COLLISION SENSOR TURNS ON EVEN WITHOUT ANY CARS IN FRONT. THE DEALER SAID SOMETIMES THE RAIN AFFECTS THE SENSOR BUT IT STILL TURNS ON EVEN WHEN IT'S NOT RAINING. ONCE IT'S THE WARNING LIGHT IS ON, IT NEVER TURNS OFF. I'M CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY ESPECIALLY WHEN THE EMERGENCY BRAKES DEPENDS ON THE SENSOR. THIS HAPPENS WHENEVER I DRIVE ON A CITY STREET. I'VE HAD THIS CAR SINCE 12/8/19.
MY HEADLIGHTS ARE AWFUL I CAN'T SEE AT NIGHT BECAUSE THE LIGHTS PROJECT ON THE GROUND AND I HAVE TO HAVE THE LIGHTS ON BRIGHT JUST TO SEE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE.
INTERMITTENT FRONT RADAR. WARNING MESSAGE WILL APPEAR STATING "FRONT RADAR UNAVAILBLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION" WHEN THERE IS NOT AN OBSTRUCTION, THEN THE SYSTEM DEACTIVATES THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE "OBSTRUCTION" IS CLEARED AND THE SYSTEM RESUMES FUNCTIONALITY. THIS WILL REPEAT QUITE OFTEN. WHILE I OWN A NISSAN ALTIMA, IT APPEARS THIS IS AN ISSUE IN THE NISSAN SENTRA, AS WELL.
FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION GOES OFF. RECENTLY IT CAUSED PROBLEMS WITH MY ABS TO NOT WORK AND DISENGAGE AT TIMES. COULD BE DRIVING ON AN EMPTY ROAD AND IT WILL GO OFF.
SECOND ISSUE WITH MY 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA. WAS IN THE SHOP IN OCTOBER FOR THE FRONT COLLISION SENSOR MALFUNCTIONING. SENSOR WAS DETECTING OBSTRUCTIONS WHEN NOTHING WAS THERE. LOCAL DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE SENSOR IN OCTOBER. LESS THAN ONE MONTH OUT OF THE SHOP (THIS WEEK), THE SENSOR MALFUNCTIONED AGAIN. STATED FEB: UNAVAILABLE FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION AND WAS STEADILY BLINKING AGAIN.AGAIN, NOTHING IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE THAT WOULD HAVE TRIGGERED THE SENSOR. CONTACTED NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN FOR REPAIR. DROPPED VEHICLE TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD LOOK AT THE SENSOR AND CHANGE OUT THE BRACKET THE SENSOR SITS IN TO SEE IF THAT CORRECTS THE ISSUE. VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THIS ISSUE. .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING AROUND A CURVE AT 25 MPH, THE STEERING MALFUNCTIONED AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. ALSO, THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED WITHOUT WARNING, LOUD SQUEAKING NOISES WERE HEARD, AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JACKSON NISSAN (2400 SEYMOUR RD, JACKSON, MI 49201, (517) 788-8300) AT LEAST TEN TIMES SINCE IT WAS FIRST LEASED IN MAY OF 2018. THE DEALER RECENTLY REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS AND POWER STEERING PUMP. THE FAILURES RECURRED AND THE CONTACT WAS RELUCTANT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER SENT THE CONTACT A SETTLEMENT RELEASE AND OFFERED TO PAY $2,000. BY SIGNING THE RELEASE, THE CONTACT WOULD RELIEVE THE MANUFACTURER OF ALL LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY IF SOMETHING WENT WRONG. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, DURING THE MORNING, MY CAR ACTIVATED THE BRAKES ON ITS OWN, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENS THE FIRST TIME I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND ASKED FOR THE SENSORS TO BE REMOVED, AND KEPT IT FOR A WHOLE DAY AND APPARENTLY NOTHING WAS DONE, SECONDLY THE (FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION) IS BECOMING ANNOYING. ANOTHER OF THE ISSUES I ENCOUNTERED WITH THIS MY ALTIMA IS THE SHIFTING, FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR IT FEELS AS IF THE GEARS WERE STUCK, ALSO TOOK IT IN THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THIS COULD NOT BE TRUE BECAUSE MY ALTIMA DOESN'T HAVE A REGULAR TRANSMISSION IT HAS A BAND, SO I RESPONDED, YOU KNOW MORE THAN ME, JUST PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF MY ISSUE AND I DON'T WANT TO BE STUCK WITH A LEMON, I AM SURE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS ENCOUNTERED THESE ISSUES
THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING COMPONENT BECOMES 'UNAVAILABLE' WHEN THERE IS NOTHING (NO DIRT OR RAIN, SNOW) BLOCKING THE SENSOR. I KEEP THE SENSOR WIPED CLEAN AND ON A NICE SUNNY DAY, WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY, BOULEVARD, RESIDENTIAL STREETS. THE SENSOR WARNING WILL TELL ME 'FCW UNAVAILABLE' WITH THE 'SYMBOL' OF TWO CARS CRASHING. IT GOES ON FOR A WHILE THEN OFF THEN BACK ON AGAIN. IN THE PHOTO BELOW, I'D JUST PULLED OVER TO TAKE THE PICTURE OF THE SYMBOL. (THIS WAS 08/20/19.10 DAYS AFTER MY CAR PURCHASE 08/10/19) AT THAT TIME THE SYMBOL ONLY IS SHOWING. I'D JUST TURNED OFF THE BOULEVARD FROM DRIVING 40MPH. CAN'T GET A PIC OF MESSAGE WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION, OF COURSE. THIS IS NOW A REGULAR OCCURRENCE FOR THE 3 MONTHS I'VE HAD MY CAR. TAKING INTO MECHANIC TO GET IT CHECKED END OF NOVEMBER 2019. THIS WARNING OCCURS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS.
AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BREAKING TURNS OFF CONSTANTLY. WHEN A TRUCK TOWING A TRAILER PASSED ME A LIGHT CAME ON AND A MESSAGE FLASHED ON THE DASH. IT SAID THAT THE RADAR WAS UNAVAILABLE BECAUSE OF AN OBSTRUCTION. IT HAPPENED AGAIN AT AN INTERSECTION. IT SEEMS TO GO OFF SEVERAL TIMES A DAY WHEN IT SENSES CARS BESIDE ME, AT INTERSECTIONS, TURNING... I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH NISSAN SERVICE AT JEFF WYLER KONG?S NISSAN IN MASON OHIO. THEY FOUND DTC # C1A16 RADAR STAIN AND C1B55-97 RADAR BLOCKAGE. THEY REPROGRAMMED THE RADAR UNIT. IT STILL DIDN?T WORK. THEY SAID THE PART NEEDS TO BE REPLACED TO THE TUNE OF $1637.86. WE BOUGHT THIS CAR SPECIFICALLY FOR THE AEB. WE RESEARCHED IT?S RELIABILITY THROUGH CONSUMER REPORTS. I CHECKED AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THERE WERE NO ACCIDENTS ON THE VEHICLE?S HISTORY REPORT. I?D RUN A SMALL GENERAL OBD READER THAT DID NOT SHOW THE CODE BEFORE BUYING. WE ARE PRETTY MAD TO HAVE EXTENDED OURSELVES TO PAY MORE FOR SOMETHING THAT DOESN?T WORK. I?VE CALLED 1800NISSAN1 SO WE?LL SEE IF THEY FIX IT. SO FAR THEY?VE ONLY TOLD ME IT?S NOT COVERED, DESPITE HOW MANY NISSAN MODELS AND YEARS ARE ALL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. WE COULDN?T SEE IT BC THEY HAVEN?T RECALLED IT.
WHILE DRIVING A SENSOR LIGHT APPEARS AND READS OBSTRUCTION UNAVAILABLE AND STAYS FOR SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE TURNING OFF THIS HAPPENS AT LEAST 5 TO 6 TIMES A WEEK. ANOTHER PROBLEM IM HAVING IS A KNOCKING SOUND UNDER DRIVER FEET WHILE DRIVING AND TURNING I TOOK IT IN TO HAVE IT CHECKED AND THE TECHNICIAN DROVE IT HEARD THE SOUND KEPT THE CAR A WHOLE DAY BUT SAID HE COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG BUT CLEARLY THERE IS A PROBLEM IF HE AND I HEAR CAN HEAR THE NOISE. WHEN I PICKED THE CAR UP IT STILL MAKES THE SAME SOUND AND I'M AFRAID WHILE DRIVING SOMETHING MAY HAPPEN TO THE WHEELS. IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE THIS IS A ROTOR PROBLEM. I'VE TAKEN THE CAR IN TWICE REGARDING THIS SAME PROBLEM AND IT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. SINCE PURCHASING THIS CAR IT HAS BEEN IN SERVICE AT LEAST 10 TIMES WITH DIFFERENT PROBLEMS 3 TIMES FOR BRAKES, ONE TIME FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO PUSH BRAKE TO START TWO TIMES FOR EXCESSIVE WIND NOISE FROM WINDOWS HAD FRONT AND BACK BRAKES REPLACED TWICE AND NOW HAVING TO TAKE IT BACK TO REPLACE WINDOW SEALS AND KNOCKING NOISE THAT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. NISSAN REALLY DID A POOR JOB BUILDING THE PARTICULAR CAR NOT EVEN TWO YEARS FROM PURCHASE WITH SEVERAL PROBLEMS VERY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER
I PURCHASED A USED 2018 ALTIMA YESTERDAY. DURING THE TEST DRIVE AND DURING MY COMMUTE THIS MORNING, I RECEIVED AN ERROR MESSAGE "RADAR UNAVAILABLE FRONT OBSTRUCTION". UPON RESEARCH, THIS IS A PROBLEM KNOWN TO NISSAN WITH THE BOSCH SENSOR MOUNTED IN THE FRONT GRILL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CROSSROADS NISSAN WAKE FOREST (11120 CAPITAL BLVD, WAKE FOREST, NC 27587, (877) 331-9055) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT EITHER THE SPIRAL CORD INSIDE THE STEERING WHEEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED OR THE WEATHER TEMPERATURE CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,000.*DT
THE FRONT COLLISION RADAR SENSOR KEEPS GOING OFF AND ON. TOOK INTO DEALER AND SAID IT WAS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND DON'T KNOW WHY IT IS NOT RECALLED YET. THE PART IS $1500 WHICH IS OVER 10% OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS I DO NOT KNOW WHEN IT IS ON OR OFF. THE THE SENSOR GOES OFF STAY FRONT SENSOR IS UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION AND THERE IS NOTHING THERE. IT WILL TURN OFF AND ON SEVERAL TIMES IN A DRIVE.
THE SECURITY FEATURE ON THE VEHICLE DISABLES THE CAR AT RANDOM.
THE FRONT ELECTRONIC BRAKING SYSTEM FEB INTERMITTENTLY GOES OUT SAYING "FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION" EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR. IF THE CAR IS TURNED OFF THEN BACK ON IT WORKS NORMALLY BUT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN WITHIN AN HOUR OR SO EVERY TIME IT'S DRIVEN, NO EXCEPTIONS.
A TRUCK TURNED QUICKLY IN FRONT OF MY WIFE WHICH MADE HER HIT HIM IN THE SIDE OF HIS TRUCK WHILE SHE WAS TRAVELING AT APPROX. 55MPH. THE TRUCK WAS TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND ON HIGHWAY AND SHE WAS TRAVELING NORTHBOUND ON A FOGGY DAY.SHE HIT HER BRAKES SLID ABOUT 30 FT BEFORE STRIKING THE SIDE OF HIS F150 TEARING HIS REAR AXLES OUT AND DAMAGING HER 2018 ALTIMA IN THE FRONT END BADLY. THE PROBLEM IS NONE OF THE IMPACT DEVICES DEPLOYED: AIR BAGS NOR SEAT BELTS OR ANYTHING DEPLOYED. SHE HIT THE STEERING WHEEL WITH HER CHEST AND KNEES WENT INTO DASH AND HAD TO BE TAKEN TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND HAS RIB, BACK, AND NECK PAIN FOR SEVERAL DAYS. I THINK WE MAY HAVE A DEFECTIVE CAR AND HAVE CONTACTED NISSANS CONSUMER AFFAIRS DIVISION FOR AN INVESTIGATION OF THE VEHICLE. THE PICTURE IS FROM THE ACCIDENT SCENE, YOU CAN SEE BOTH VEHICLES.*DT*JB
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, NOTIFICATION OF "FEB: UNAVAILABLE FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION" COMES ON AND STAYS ILLUMINATED FOR UPWARDS OF 5 TO 10 MINUTES BEFORE TURNING OFF. THIS OCCURS WHEN THERE ARE NO VEHICLES IN FRONT OF MINE AND NO ROAD HAZARDS THAT WOULD HAVE TRIGGERED IT TO TURN ON. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE WAY THE CAR IS DESIGNED TO STOP WHEN IT DETECTS A HAZARD. THIS STARTED OUT RANDOMLY OVER THIS PAST SUMMER AND IN THE LAST WEEK, HAS BEEN A DAILY OCCURRENCE. WHEN I SPOKE TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT IT, THE SOONEST THEY HAD AN OPENING TO ADDRESS IT IS A MONTH AWAY. NO A HAPPY CAMPER, FEELS LIKE THEY ARE NOT AS CONCERNED AS I AM WITH THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE. BRAKE SWITCH FAILURE LESS THAN ONE YEAR OF OWNERSHIP OF THE VEHICLE. UNABLE TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL IN TO START THE VEHICLE. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE SWITCH TO RELEASE IS TO TAP ON IT WITH A HAMMER. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN OCCURRING FAIRLY REGULARLY FOR THE PAST WEEK BEFORE I COULD GET IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY. (IS SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED TOMORROW??) AT ONE POINT, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START ALTOGETHER. POPPED THE HOOD TO JUMP START IT, AND NOTICED BLACK POWDERY STUFF ON THE TOP OF THE BATTERY AS THOUGH THE BATTER HAD GOTTEN TOO HOT AND BOILED OVER POSSIBLY. THE DEALERSHIP TEST THE BATTERY AND TOLD ME THAT MY BATTERY IS FINE AND FULLY CHARGED. THIS WAS AFTER I HAD IT ON THE CHARGER FOR SEVERAL HOURS YESTERDAY SO THAT IT WOULD START FOR ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE A NOTIFICATION OF 'FEB: UNAVAILABLE FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION' IS CONSTANTLY COMING ON LCD SCREEN ON DASHBOARD WHILE A CHECK LIGHT OF 2 VEHICLES IN HEAD ON COLLISION CONSTANTLY SHOWS UP AND LEAVES THE DASHBOARD.
FRONT SENSOR KEEPS GOING OFF AND ON EVEN WHEN NOT AROUND ANY CARS... BACKUP CAMERA CUTS OFF AND ON WHILE REVERSING
VEHICLE IN MOTION AND WARNING SIGNAL 'FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION'.
ON ONE OCCASSION THE RADIO SYSTEM FROZE AND THE BACK UP CAMERA WASN'T WORKING BECAUSE THE SCREEN WENT BLACK. VOLUME ALSO COULD NOT BE TURNED DOWN
2018 NISSAN ALTIMA HAS A DEFECTIVE PUSH START AND BRAKING SYSTEM. UNABLE TO START CAR WITH PUSH START BECAUSE IT FEELS AS IF THE BRAKES ARE STUCK. HAVE TO CONTINOUSLY PUMP THE BREAK IN A EFFORT TO GET THE BRAKE TO RELEASE IN ORDER TO START THE CAR.
I WAS DRIVING AT 45 MPH ON A CITY STREET. THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED WHEN A GUST OF WIND BLEW LEAVES IN FRONT OF MY CAR. FORTUNATELY NO CARS WERE CLOSE BEHIND ME BECAUSE IT WAS AS IF I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES. BEING TRIGGERED BY LEAVES SEEMS TOO SENSITIVE.
THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE WITH THE FRONT RADAR SENSORS. I WHILE IN MOTION I RANDOMLY RECEIVE AN AUDIBLE ALERT AND WARNING MESSAGE SAYING THAT THE FRONT RADAR IS UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION YET THERE WOULD NOTHING IN FRONT OF THE CAR.
MY 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA RANDOMLY THROWS OUT A MESSAGE TO THE DASH SAYING, "FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION" AND THIS IS ACCOMPANIED BY A WARNING BEEP, WHICH CAUSES A MOMENT OF PANIC. THIS OCCURS EVEN ON AN OPEN ROAD WITH NO OTHER CARS OR OBSTRUCTIONS PRESENT. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY CONCERN SINCE THE BRAKING SYSTEM IS DISABLED WHEN THIS OCCURS. WE WENT TO THE LOCAL DEALER AND THEY WANT $165 TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM AND $1000 TO FIX IT BECAUSE WE ARE OUT OF WARRANTY. WE PURCHASED THE CAR SECOND HAND WITH 42K MILES. THEY TOLD US THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AS THEY SEE THIS ALL THE TIME. WE OPENED A CASE WITH NISSAN (36978530) AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT HELP US UNLESS WE SPENT THE MONEY TO HAVE THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED. SO, AT THIS POINT, NISSAN IS NOT STANDING BY THEIR PRODUCT AND ONE OF THE MAJOR REASONS WE BOUGHT THE CAR IS NOT WORKING. AND, NISSAN KNOWS IT!
2018 NISSAN ALTIMA HAS A DEFECTIVE PUSH START AND BRAKING SYSTEM. THE CAR WILL NOT START WITH THE PUSH START AND BRAKE PEDAL. I WAS PARKED AND WHEN I GOT IN THE CAR THE PUSH START WOULD NOT WORK.
2018 NISSAN ALTIMA - FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE. THIS VEHICLE WILL HAVE THE INTELLIGENT BRAKE ASSIST UNEXPECTEDLY BE DISENGAGED. A WARNING LIGHT AND SOUND WILL BE ACTIVATED INDICATING THAT THE THE BRAKE ASSIST HAS BEEN RENDERED USELESS AS WELL AS THE CRUISE CONTROL FUNCTION. THIS IS AN EVERY DRIVE OCCURRENCE.
THE CAR WILL NOT START IF THE BREAK IS SOMEHOW "STUCK". YOU HAVE TO PUMP ON THE BREAKS TO RELEASE IT FOR THE CAR TO START. IF THE CAR DOES START, THE BREAKS MAY BE STUCK WHEN I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT WHICH TIME THE CAR CAN'T DRIVE FASTER THAN 5 MPH AND SOMETIMES THE CAR JUST STAYS IN ONE SPOT. I HAVE TWO OTHER NISSAN CARS AND I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. I TRULY BELIEVE THAT NISSAN HAS ISSUES WITH THE BREAK SYSTEM. THIS IS DANGEROUS FOR PEOPLE DRIVING ON THE ROAD WITH THIS PROBLEM. THE DEALER IS NOT WANTING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM UNTIL THEIR COMPUTER GENERATES A CODE. ON MY OTHER TWO CARS, THE PROBLEM GOT REALLY BAD BEFORE THEIR SYSTEM WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. PEOPLE CAN BE STRANDED IF THEIR CAR DOESN'T START OR GET INTO AN ACCIDENT IF THE CAR CAN'T MOVE AFTER A COMPLETE STOP.
FRONT CRASH CAMERA. IT GOES OFF FOR NO REASON. IF I'M DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY & IT JUST GOES OFF, IF I'M GOING ON A FLYOVER RAMP IT PICKS UP THE CTB (CONCRETE TRAFFIC BARRIER) & GOES OFF AGAIN. IT DON'T MATTER WHERE OR WHAT IT JUST GOES OFF.
I HAVE 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA SR SPECIAL EDITION WITH ABOUT 25,000 MILES ON IT. FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS THE INDICATOR FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION HAS BEEN GOING OFF CONSTANTLY. LAST NIGHT WHEN I WAS COMING HOME FROM WORK ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY THE INDICATOR CAME UP AND SHORTLY AFTER THE BLINKING YELLOW INDICATOR OF A CAR CAME UP AND STARTED BREAKING BY ITSELF, TWICE. THE FIRST TIME I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 75 MPH AND THE DRIVERS ASSISTANT STARTED BREAKING. THERE WAS NOT A CAR IN FRONT OF ME OR AROUND ME AT ALL. I PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY AND SAW NOTHING IN THE WAY OF THE SENSOR. THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED PROBABLY ABOUT 10 MILES FROM THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. THEN, I TURNED OFF THE 'DRIVERS ASSISTANTS'. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY BAD ACCIDENT IF THERE WAS ANOTHER CAR AROUND ME AT THE TIME. I TOOK MY CAR IN THIS MORNING TO THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM. THE SERVICE GIRL WHO I DEAL WITH EVERY TIME I GO TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE. GOT MY CAR RIGHT IN AND FOUND OUT THE SENSOR WAS BAD AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND GOT ME INTO A LOANER VEHICLE BECAUSE I NEEDED TO GO TO WORK AND COULDN'T WAIT. I'LL BE PICKING UP MY CAR TOMORROW AND HOPING THIS WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN!! NISSAN YOU SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL ON THE MATTER RIGHT AWAY. OBVIOUSLY BY READING OTHER CONSUMERS ISSUE THEY ARE THE SAME AS MINE AND THAT IS WHY I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW!
THE FRONT SENSOR ON MY 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA MALFUNCTIONS, STATING THAT THERE'S A FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION AT TIMES. OTHER TIMES, IT FALSELY DETECTS A VEHICLE TOO CLOSE IN FRONT OF ME WHEN THERE'S NOTHING ACTUALLY IN FRONT OF ME ON STREETS AND ON THE FREEWAY. IT RECENTLY ENGAGED THE BRAKES WHILE I WAS ON A STREET WHEN IT FALSELY DETECTED ANOTHER VEHICLE TOO CLOSE IN FRONT OF ME. LUCKILY, NO ACCIDENT RESULTED.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY AND INADEQUATELY LOW, NOT ALLOWING DRIVER TO SEE ROADWAY AT NIGHT WHILE DRIVING. LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS PROJECT ONLY APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET; THEREFORE, FOR ANY SPEED OVER 45 MILES PER HOUR IT IS I'M POSSIBLE TO SEE FAR ENOUGH IN FRONT OF VEHICLE.
I DRIVE A BLACK 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA SR SPECIAL EDITION. MY CAR CURRENTLY HAS 24,000 MILES ON IT. AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET MY AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM WAS ACTIVATED AND MY CAR SLOWED DOWN AND TRIED TO STOP ON ITS OWN. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE PURPOSE OF THE ABS IS TO ASSIST DRIVERS IN SAFELY STOPPING THE VEHICLE WHEN THEY ARE TO CLOSE TO AN OBJECT AND/OR ANOTHER CAR IN FRONT OF THEM. HOWEVER THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME WHEN THIS OCCURRED. IT IS NOW HAPPENING CONSISTENTLY AND I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT, ESPECIALLY WITH MY TWO YEAR OLD SON IN THE CAR. THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY FATAL IF IT HAPPENS AT THE WRONG TIME!!!
VEHICLE IN MOTION, THE FLAW IS IN THE FRONT RADAR/DISTANCE SENSOR UNIT ALLOWS THE SENSOR TO FREQUENTLY DEACTIVATE ITSELF, DISABLING CRUISE CONTROL AND EMERGENCY BRAKING. WHEN THE SENSOR TURN ITSELF OFF, DRIVERS ARE SEEING A WARNING IN THE DASH THAT SAYS, 'FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION.'
THE 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA SV HAS THE ERROR "UNAVAILABLE: FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION." AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC THEY DETERMINE THE PART IS FAULTY AND NO SYSTEM ERRORS ARE PRESENT. (DOCUMENT CAN BE UPLOADED UPON REQUEST)
EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY CAR NO MATTER WHAT THE WEATHER CONDITION IS THIS LIGHT COMES ON NONSTOP
I BOUGHT MY 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA SR MIDNIGHT EDITION AROUND OCTOBER 2018. WHEN I REACHED ABOUT 8,500 MILES THE CARS FRONT RADAR SENSOR WENT OFF, AND MY ALTIMA WOULD SAY FRONT RADAR UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION, AND THIS WOULD GO ON AND OFF THE WHOLE WEEK. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO COME AND WE'LL TAKE A LOOK AT IT. THAT WEEK I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT'S COVER BY WARRANTY AND THAT THE FRONT RADAR SENSOR NEEDS TO BE RECALIBRATED. WAITED THE WHOLE DAY FOR THEM TO FIX IT. WHEN I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP 10 MILES OUT THE FRONT RADAR WENT OFF AGAIN, AND I WAS FUMING THAT MY NEW CAR IS DOING THIS. I CALLED BACK AND TOLD THE THAT THE SENSOR IS DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WILL ORDER AND NEW SENSOR FOR YOU AND WILL FIX IT WHEN THE PART ARRIVES. TWO WEEKS LATER THE DEALERSHIP NEVER CALLED OR EMILED ME. I CALL THEM UP AND THEY SAID THAT THE PART IS HERE AND TO BRING THE CAR IN ANYTIME. SO I GO IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CHANGED THE PART. DAY 1 WAS GOOD NO ISSUES. DAY 2 WAS GOOD NO ISSUES. DAY 3 THE CARS ABS SYSTEM KICKS IN AND BRINGS MY CAR TO A FULL STOP FOR NO REASON WHAT SO EVER. THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME, NO PEDESTRIANS NOTHING. THE WEATHER WAS A CLEAR SUNNY DAY AND I DRIVING IN MANHATTAN WITH A CLIENT IN MY CAR GOING 25 MPH. THE WHOLE CAR WAS SHAKING I HEARD THE TIRE SKID AND THE WHOLE CAR WAS SHAKING, I GOT SOO SCARED. THE CAR BEHIND ME ALMOST HIT ME AND THE GUY COMES OUT HIS CAR ARGUING WITH ME ON WHY I STOPED SUDDENLY FOR NO REASON. I TOLD HIM IT WASN'T ME THE CAR STOPED ON IT'S OWN, BUT HE DIDN'T BELIEVE ME AND GAVE ME A COUPLE CUSS WORDS. I WAS IN RAGE, AND SCARED AT THE SAME TIME. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND TOLD THEM THE ISSUES, THEY TOLD ME COME IN AND WE'LL LOOK AT IT FOR YOU. IM SO ANGRY BECAUSE I COULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT FORM THE SAME THING THAT IS SUPPOSED TO PREVENT AN ACCIDENT.
THE AEB (AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING) SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS CONTINUOUSLY. I GET A WARNING (FRONT SENORS UNAVAILABLE DUE TO OBSTRUCTION) BUT THERE IS NO OBSTRUCTION. THIS SHUTS OFF THE SAFETY SYSTEM THAT WAS DESIGNED TO SENSE AND STOP THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. MANY, MANY OTHER NISSAN OWNERS ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE AND NISSAN IS FAILING TO DO A RECALL AND FIX IT. JUST AS THE SYSTEM ALERTED ME WHILE DRIVING YESTERDAY, IT THEN QUICKLY SHUT OFF SAYING THERE WAS AN OBSTRUCTION. IT WAS NOT ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS AND NOTHING WAS COVERING THE FRONT OF THE CAR. I STOPPED IN TIME. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT THIS WEEK WITH THE NISSAN DEALER, BUT WITH THIS BEING A MARKETED AS A SAFETY FEATURE, AND INCLUDED AS PART OF THE SAFETY RATINGS SYSTEMS BY THE GOVERNMENT, IT SHOULD BE A RECALL BY NISSAN. I PURCHASED THE CAR BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY SYSTEM AND RATINGS.
RADAR OBSTRUCTION WARNING KEEPS POPPING UP ON SCREEN.AFRAID THAT THIS WOULD MAKE THE CAR STOP AND GET REAR ENDED.THIS IS HAPPENING WHILE DRIVING..
DURING RANDOM DRIVING THE FORWARD COLLISION SENSOR COMES ON STATING THAT FORWARD COLLISION IS UNAVAILABLE. SOMETIMES THE SENSOR WILL GO OFF 1-2 TIMES OR UP TO 6 TIMES IN ONE DAY. THIS SENSOR CONTROLS THE (AEB) AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING. NISSAN HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THIS ISSUE IN SEVERAL CARS BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. THIS VEHICLE IS MY WORK VEHICLE AND MY PERSONAL NISSAN PATHFINDER HAS ALREADY HAD THE PART REPLACED WITH LESS THAN 10,000 MILES. CURRENTLY MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY WANT $1700.00 FOR REPAIR OF FAULTY SAFETY PARTS. I'VE BEEN DRIVING IN PERFECTLY SUNNY DAYS, ON BUMPY BACK ALLEY, JUST DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAYS AND THE SENSOR GOES OFF. I BELIEVE THAT THIS ISSUE IS MORE WIDESPREAD THAN THEY ACKNOWLEDGE. OUR FLEET OF COMPANY CARS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE ROGUE, ALTIMA.
THE FRONT END OBSTRUCTION LIGHT AND WARNING SOUND COME ON EVERYTIME I DRIVE MY VEHICLE, THEN GO OFF AND COME BACK ON. I CAN BE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND WITH NOTHING AROUND ME. SOMETIMES IT CAUSES MY CAR TO SLOW DOWN.
DRIVING ALONG INTERSTATE SLOWED DOWN FOR TRAFFIC LIGHT AND WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS TO ACCELERATE, VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO EVEN IF THE ACCELERATOR WAS ON THE FLOOR COULD NOT GET ABOVE 40MPH AND RPM WERE BETWEEN 4&5 WAS ALMOST REARENDED BY OTHER TRAFFIC. HAPPENED TWO MORE TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY. ALSO WHEN DRIVING THROUGH SLOW TRAFFIC FEELS AS IF TRANSMISSION IS JERKING AND POWER IS LOST.
WAS TRAVELING OVER SNOWY MOUNTAIN PASS. MY MILEAGE WAS 65 WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE FORQARD CRASH WARNING SYSTEM FAILED AND SAID UNAVAILABLE THEN REPORTED I HAD BEEN IN A FRONT END COLLISION. WHICH WASNT TRUE AS I WAS STILL TRAVELING THEN THE CAR KEPT AUTOMATICALLY APPLYING BREAKS. THIS COULD OF CAUSED A SEVERE CRASH HAD THE ROADS BEEN ICY AS IT COULD OF PUT ME IN A SPIN CAUSING A SERIOUS CRASH.
THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING LIGHT ARBITRARILY COMES ON AND STAYS ON. I CAN BE AT A FULL STOP AND THE LIGHT COMES. SEE THE ATTACHED PICTURE. I CAN BE DRIVING AND THE LIGHT COMES AND STAYS ON. FOR THE MOST PART THIS HAPPENS IN JUST ABOUT ANY DRIVING CONDITIONS
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PROCEED AFTER A STOP SIGN WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON DASH INCLUDING THE BATTERY LIGHT. I PUT ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS. WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS THE CAR MADE NO ACCELERATION NOISE AND DID NOT MOVE. THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE. I MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO MOVE FORWARD, BUT THE LIGHTS REMAINED AND THE CAR DID NOT MOVE. I HAD A FULL TANK IF GAS AND A RECENT OIL CHANGE. I THEN PUT THE CAR IN PARK, AND USED MY PUSH BUTTON TO TURN OFF THE CAR. I WAITED A FEW SECONDS AND RESTARTED THE CAR. IT DID START AND I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE NORMALLY. I WAS ON A SIDE STREET AND HAD BEEN DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 2 MINUTES.
A LAG WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR AND FEEL A SLIGHT CLUNK BEFORE I START TO MOVE. TURNING OFF OVERDRIVE SEEMS TO GIVE A MORE SOLID START WITH NOT SO MUCH HESITATION. ALWAYS FEEL LIKE I NEED TO GENTLY ACCELERATE FROM STOP OR SOMETHING MIGHT BREAK
SOME UNAUTHORIZED PERSON OPENED THE TRUNK BY A REMOTE DEVIC E. CAR WAS PARKED, ENGINE OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, BETWEEN A GUARD RAIL AND A TRACTOR TRAILER, THE VEHICLE BECAME UNCONTROLLABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. HERTZ RENTAL CAR (LOCATED AT 2200 RENTAL CAR CENTER PKWY, ATLANTA, GA 30337, (404) 530-2925) WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,876. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN CONTINUOUSLY HAPPENING SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WITH ABOUT 2500 MILES ON IT, IT CURRENTLY HAS ABOUT 6500 MILES ON IT. THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM CONTINUES TO TURN ON AND OFF AT VARIOUS TIMES BUT HAS CONTINUED TO GET WORSE OVER THE FEW MONTHS THAT I HAVE OWNED IT. THE WORST SITUATION I HAVE HAD WAS RECENTLY ON A 300 MILE ROUND TRIP WHEN THE EMERGENCY BRAKING WOULD ACTIVATE AND DEACTIVATE EVERY FEW MINUTES, IN WHICH IT WOULD FLASH ON THE DASH SAYING THE SYSTEM WAS OBSTRUCTED, AND THE WARNING LIGHT SHOWING IT DEACTIVATED WOULD TURN ON, THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULD SHUT OFF AND A KEEPING SOUND WOULD TURN ON. THIS WAS HAPPENING WITH NO APPARENT PARTICULAR INCIDENT. THE TRIP TOOK SOME BACK ROADS, A LOT OF HIGHWAY (2 LANE AND 4 LANE) AND A MODERATE IN CITY DRIVING. THE WEATHER WAS CLEAR, THE SUN WAS OUT WITH PARTIAL CLOUDING, IT WAS AROUND 40 DEGREES OUTSIDE, THE ROADS WERE DRY, SOME WERE ROUGH SOME SMOOTH, OTHER THAN IN THE CITY THERE WAS LITTLE STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. THE WORST INCIDENT WAS DURING THE RETURN TRIP, WE WERE ON A 2 LANE HIGHWAY THAT WAS PRETTY SMOOTH. THERE WAS NO ONE IN FRONT OF US WE WERE DOING APPROXIMATELY 70MPH WITH TRAFFIC BEHIND US, WE HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL ON AND WERE JUST GOING ALONG A STRAIGHT FLAT STRETCH OF ROAD WHEN THE SYSTEM ONCE AGAIN DEACTIVATED, BEEPED THEN REACTIVATED AND BEEPED AND THEN SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES ON US. IT WAS ONLY AN INSTANT AND CREATED NO SITUATION OF DANGER BASED ON OUR POSITION, AND AS IT WAS INSTANT I WAS ABLE TO STEP ON THE GAS AGAIN AND WE ONLY DROPPED FROM 70 TO ABOUT 50MPH IN THE PERIOD. THIS WAS THE WORST SITUATION I HAVE RUN INTO WITH THE ISSUE SO I LOOKED IT UP ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND IT IS STATED AS AN ISSUE ON THE SENTRA. THIS UNEXPECTED DECELERATION ON A FREEWAY COULD HAVE BEEN A DEVASTATING ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT PURCHASED A LEMON (2017 NISSAN VEHICLE) AND SWAPPED IT OUT FOR A 2018 ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL IN THE 2018 ALTIMA MADE CLICKING AND POPPING NOISES WHEN TURNED, WHICH POSSIBLY WERE CAUSED BY THE LINKAGE IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL UNKNOWN NISSAN DEALERS, BUT THEY CLAIMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING TO REPAIR. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE ORIGINAL DEALER (DON DAVIS NISSAN, 1320 I-20 FRONTAGE ROAD, ARLINGTON, TX 76018, (877) 415-3218) WAS CONDUCTING UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES WITH HER VEHICLE TRANSACTIONS. THE CONTACT HAD BEEN IN TOUCH WITH SEVERAL AGENCIES, INCLUDING THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, TO PLEAD HER CASE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,400.
AFTER HITTING BREAKS MANY TIMES AND SLAMMING THEM THE CAR WOULD STILL NOT STOP
WHILE DRIVING DURING RAIN CONDITIONS, THE FORWARD RADAR REPEATEDLY DISABLES ITSELF WITH AN "OBSTRUCTION" WARNING, WHICH ALSO DISABLES THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING FUNCTION. THIS ISSUE DOES NOT PRESENT DURING DRY WEATHER CONDITIONS, AND DOES NOT HAPPEN WHILE TRANSITING THROUGH A CAR WASH. THIS PROBLEM WAS FIRST NOTED IN OCTOBER 2018 WHEN DRIVING IN RAINY WEATHER FOR THE FIRST TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS NEW, WITH 00004 MILES ON THE ODOMETER, AT THE TIME OF FIRST POSSESSION IN MAY 2018. AS OF 1-10-2019, THE ODOMETER READS 14970.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE SENSOR ACTIVATED AT RANDOM. THERE WERE NO VEHICLES IN FRONT OF THE CONTACT AT THE TIME. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR THE PAST FIVE MONTHS ON A DAILY BASIS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO OAK RIDGE NISSAN (1549 OAK RIDGE TNPK, OAK RIDGE, TN 37830) ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE DID NOT OCCUR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 34098344. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,500.
THE FRONT RADAR AEB KEEPS GOING OUT, ALMOST THE REASON FOR MY VEHICLE TO NOT STOP IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. THIS FEATURE WAS THE COMPLETE REASON I BOUGHT IT NOW I FEEL LIKE IT IS DANGEROUS. I AM CONSIDERING ASKING FOR COMPLETE BUY OUT OF MY LOAN. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR BACK 3 TIMES IN 3, NISSAN HAS NO ANSWERS OTHER THAN KEEP REPLACING FAULTY SENSOR WITH MORE FAULTY SENSOR.
CAR WOULD NOT BRAKE AND HIT A POLE. THE VEHICLE IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE EMERGENCY BRAKES, BUT DID NOT WORK. OFTEN WOULD GET A MESSAGE ACROSS MY DASHBOARD SAYING IT WAS UNAVAILABLE.
AEB WILL NOT APPLY BRAKE WHEN NARROWLY MISSING A CAR THAT RAN A STOP SIGN.THE AEB "AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING" DOES NOT WORK AT ANY TIME, OR ANY SITUATION. DEALERSHIP IN SHELBY,NC. NISSAN ,REFUSES TO FIX NOT EVEN JAD IT A MONTH YET. SINCERELY, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
PURCHASED NISSAN ALTIMA S 2018 , THE AEB "AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BREAKING " DOES NOT FUNCTION AT ANY TIME, THE COMPUTER WILL NOT ESTABLISH A CODE FOR IT NOT WORKING EITHER. IT'S EITHER A FAULTY COMPUTER NOT ESTABLISHING A CODE OR THE THE AEB IS FAULTY. WILL NOT ATTEMPT TO STOP FOR A PEDESTRIAN CROSSING IN THE CROSS WALKS, WILL NOT APPLY MORE BREAKING PRESSURE IF I'M NOT APPLYING ENOUGH. HAVE TALKED DEALERSHIP IN SHELBY, NC. HAVE TALKED TO NISSAN CORPORATE , BOTH DENIE THAT ANYTHING IS WRONG,SIMPLY BECAUSE THE COMPUTER WILL NOT THROW A CODE. THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS "IT WILL NOT OPERATE" CODE OR NO CODE. THIS IS A SAFETY FEATURE I WANTED ,REASON FOR PICKING THE CAR OUT. HAS PEOPLE AGE THEIR REFLEXES GET SLOWER ON SOME INDIVIDUALS, AND SOME PEOPLE TAKE THEIR EYES OFF THE ROAD TO MAKE AN ADJUSTMENT TO SOME OTHER FEATURES AS MIRROR ADJ. CRUISE CONTROLS ETC. WILL NOT GIVE ME A CAR THAT THE FEARTURE WORKS ON. EXCHANGED CARS ON ME AFTER I TOOK A TEST DRIVE THAT THE FEATURE DID WORK . DEMANDED IT BE FIXED OR FIRST PAYMENT WILL NOT BE MADE ,TO COME AND GET IT IF NISSAN WILL NOT FIX CAR OR REPLACE CAR.
I PURCHASED A NEW 2018 NISSAN, THE FRONT END COLLISION SENSOR IS ALARMING AND HAS EVER SINCE THE CAR WAS NEW. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS AND THEY HAVE REFERRED ME TO NISSAN AND SAY THAT I SHOULD WAIT FOR THE RECALL. I THINK THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AS MY CAR IS NOT SAFE WITH THE FRONT END COLLISION NOT WORKING PROPERLY. PLEASE HELP ME FIX THIS PROBLEM. AS I AM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, THE SENSOR ALARMS AND SAYS IT IS NOT WORKING WHEN THERE IS NOTHING IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE. I HAD ONE DEALER TELL ME IT WAS PICKING UP THE SUN......PLEASE HELP.
BROUGHT VEHICLE TO PETERS NISSAN IN NASHUA N.H. ON OCTOBER 10TH WITH 7,000 MILES ON IT DUE TO HEARING A POPPING SOUND COMING FROM THE RIGHT FRONT TO HEAR THE SOUND IT WOULD BE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL AND ACCELERATING, GO OVER BUMPS PUTTING ANY KIND OF FLEX ON THAT RIGHT FRONT. TECH FOUND OUT AFTER CALLING TECH LINE THAT I HAVE STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT FRONT STRUT TOWER AND HOOD HOLDER WHICH CAME FROM FACTORY LIKE THIS. STATED THAT THE BODY MOUNTS WHERE LETTING GO AND THE WELDS HAVE SEPARATED AND EXPLAINED THAT IF ONE MACHINE WAS NOT OR OUT OF CALIBRATION AT THE MANUFACTURE THAT THIS COULD BE THE PROBLEM BUT ALSO THAT IT COULD BE OTHER ISSUES UNDERLINE THAT WE DON'T SEE. FIX IS TO BRING TO BODY SHOP TO HAVE STRUCTURAL PIECES REPLACED. I WAS THEN ALSO TOLD THAT I COULD HAVE CONTINUOUS PROBLEMS BECAUSE IT'S STRUCTURAL. I DID NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE. I AM WORRIED THAT THERE WILL BE OTHER WELDS THAT WILL GIVE.
7000 MILES AND VEH INTELLIGENT KEY WILL NOT START CAR
The blue line shows 219 total NHTSA complaints filed over 9 years, with the worst year being 2019 (57 complaints, including 2 crash reports).
The amber reliability line averaged 20/100 across the vehicle's life — dropping as low as 10 in 2019 when complaint severity peaked.
The recall (red dashed line) followed the first complaints by 1 year — a typical response window; neither unusually fast nor a pattern of denial.
Red dots on the amber line flag 6 years (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023) where complaints included crash events — these are the highest-severity incidents in the dataset.
Nissan's Jatco continuously variable transmissions (CVT) suffer from overheating, shuddering, sudden deceleration, and premature failure. Nissan extended the CVT warranty following class action lawsuits. In some cases the warranty was extended further to 84,000 miles for documented repeat-failure vehicles. A class action settlement (Ponzio v. Nissan) provided additional reimbursement rights.
