when engine is cold and I go down a hill to a stop sign and apply the brakes , the brakes begin to engage almost fully then release and the Bronco lurches forward 6-8" and then the brakes grab and slam the car to a stop. This only happens on an incline and when the engine is cold or has sat for awhile. THe brake pedal is fully depressed and when the bronco rolls forward, there is nothing to do to stop it since the pedal is already fully engaged. I have taken it to the dealer numerous times to diagnose, but since there is not a hill or incline near them, they are not able to reproduce the same issue. I have videos of this happening and it is a known problem that has been diagnosed in the Ford bronco online forums. The dealer suggested I call Ford Service to report the issue and I started a case complaint. There are no warning messages or codes that are present that the dealer can find to explain the problem. The car is not safe to rely on due to the brake system currently and the dealer nor Ford corporate will do anything but document my issue.

I am reporting unresolved safety recalls and unreasonable delay in repair for my 2023 Ford Bronco (VIN: [XXX] ). This vehicle currently has two open safety recalls issued by Ford Motor Company • NHTSA Recall 25V721 (issued October 2025) – seat frame defect that may increase injury risk in a crash. There is currently no available remedy, and Ford has notified me that a repair is not expected until April 2027. • NHTSA Recall 26V124 (issued March 2026) – APIM defect that may overheat and cause the rearview camera to fail while reversing, increasing crash risk. In addition, this vehicle has had prior recalls (25V025 and 25V273) that remained unresolved for extended periods. One of these recalls had no available repair for approximately 10 months. These recalls affect critical safety systems including suspension, rear visibility, and seat safety. The delay for Recall 25V721 is expected to exceed 18 months, which I believe is an unreasonable delay for a safety recall repair. Ford has continued issuing new recalls while prior recalls were still unresolved, indicating a pattern of repeated safety defects and delayed remedies. Due to these active recalls, I have been unable to use my vehicle commercially. Rental platforms such as Turo prohibit listing vehicles with open safety recalls. This has resulted in financial losses exceeding 80,000. This situation forces consumers to choose between operating a vehicle with known safety defects or suffering significant financial loss due to lack of repair availability. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether Ford is complying with its obligation to provide timely safety recall remedies and whether delays of this length are reasonable. Steering would get stuck when turning, then let loose. Fortunately I didn’t lose control. Happens all the time now when driving. Had the car towed to dealer. They diagnosed failed steering shaft. This Bronco has approx 28,000 miles on it. Ford Motor Company refused to help me pay for the approx $1000 repair. Finally, the dealer worked with a contact at Ford for them to cover most of the cost. Ford wouldn’t consider issuing a recall, or expanding an existing recall for a similar steering problem, which didn’t include my VIN. No warning lights, messages, etc. I consider this a serious defect.

My infotainment screen goes blank when I backup instead of displaying my backup camera. There is an active recall on this but there is no remedy and no estimated remedy date. Ford Motor Company is only prioritizing 2026 model years so they can sell brand new vehicles. They are not trying to fix previous model years. This poses a safety risk that can result in a crash and/or death. Cars are required by law to have a backup camera, so Ford is breaking the law by not fixing this issue.

The vehicle experienced recurring electrical system failures beginning in December 2023. The vehicle intermittently would not start and on several occasions lost power unexpectedly. The vehicle was taken multiple times to an authorized Ford dealership for diagnosis while still under the manufacturer warranty. The dealership repeatedly reported that no issue could be identified despite the recurring electrical malfunction. The vehicle battery was replaced more than once within three years, however the underlying electrical issue persisted. In August 2025 the dealership instructed that the vehicle remain at the service center for extended diagnosis. The vehicle remained at the dealership for more than 40 consecutive days before being returned on October 8, 2025. Because the vehicle intermittently fails to start and has experienced electrical system malfunction, this creates a potential safety risk if the vehicle stalls or loses power while operating in traffic. Additionally, the vehicle currently has two outstanding manufacturer safety recalls that remain unresolved after nearly three years of ownership. This complaint is being submitted because the defect remains unresolved despite multiple repair attempts while the vehicle was under the manufacturer warranty.

Automatic 10 speed transmission has unpredictable shifting from 1st through 3 gears, offten with long lags between shifts, losing power temporarily, especially from 1st to 2nd gear, and harsh shifting. Sometimes, the 1st - 2nd shift lag happens upon acceleration during merging or in an intersection and that loss of power is critical, requiring an adjustment in throttle position, and when 2nd gear catches, then there is too much power. It is unpredictable. The Bronco has about 35K miles now, but this has happening since day 1. Twice in dealer, twice the tech noted it, and twice the only solution was to clear the adaptive shift control memory. Does not fix the issue.

Approximately every twenty miles I needed to stop and deice my headlights as light output had diminished to almost zero, resulting in extremely dangerous visibility. I have experienced similar problems in Manitoba and western Minnesota. In these areas, there is often more than fifteen miles before you can exit the highway or find a safe place to pull over. It is not possible to get this problem diagnosed by a dealer. However, it is a common complaint among Bronco (and Jeep) owners. The combination of an upright grill and the low heat output of LED lighting quickly render headlights useless in snowy or icing conditions. I have a 2.7l V6 Bronco with an automatic transmission. There is a steep downhill road (22% grade) a couple blocks from my house that ends at a stop sign for a major cross street. I apply the brake pedal to slow down for the stop sign and the Bronco behaves normally and comes to a full stop, but then with no change in brake pedal pressure by me nor any pedal feedback, i notice the Bronco starts creeping forward a few feet, then abruptly stops again. When the Bronco starts creeping downhill and then abruptly stops again, there is no brake pedal feedback or movement, and the engine does not change RPM. The only sound I hear is something that sounds like service brakes releasing pressure then suddenly reapplying full pressure. I compensate by stopping early, so I don’t drift into the intersection, or a vehicle in front of me, or pedestrian. It can startle any pedestrian that starts to cross in front of my “stopped” Bronco and it suddenly starts creeping down on them. I have noticed this for months but have not taken it to a dealer for resolution yet. The problem appears to not happen after I have been driving for a few minutes. There was no damage to my vehicle however there is about $3900 damage to the car behind me where the spare tire crushed the trunk lid and rear left qtr. At no time did I hear any warning lights, the radio did not lower, and warning lights and sounds were not doing the job of what they were supposed to do. Ford has issued a recall for my Bronco but states in the recall that the remedy is anticipated to be available Q3 2025 because parts are not available. We rent our car out on Turo to help offset the payments and now it has been unlisted from Turo because of the recall. I am expected to continue making payments to Ford even though they are stating that it will take 5-8 months for the remedy to be available. This is totally unacceptable on Ford’s part, as they should be able to come up with a remedy and/or parts in a more timely manner. A major corporation like Ford cannot simply issue recalls and then in the same breath say that there is no fix on the horizon for it so the consumer must just deal with it.

I am respectfully requesting that MHTAS submit to Ford an alternative Ford parts subsitution to nullify the recall for my Bronco and others to whom this applies. The recall states that replacement parts will not be available until 3rd quarter of 2025. I have been informed by the dealership service manager that these defective rear shocks could be replaced with Ford heavy duty shocks which should exempt the need for a recall. This alternative was submitted to Ford by my dealer and was refused with no explaination.

Factory hard top developing cracks around the corner of the back window on the passenger side. Vehicle is still under the 3-year / 36,000 mile factory warranty. This is the first instance that I have experience with this type of cracking on the factory hard top, and appears to be a known issue to Ford Motor Company since they have issued a General Service Bulletin (23-7004) regarding this type of issue. I am in the process of having the vehicle inspect by local Ford dealership for warranty claim. As a consumer, I do have concern about the long term durability of the hard top or any factory replacements. There are numerous examples of owners that have had multiple hard top replacements under the factory, in some cases 3-4 hard top replacements, prior to exhausting the 3 -year /36,000 mile factory warranty. These cracking issues associated with this hard top can present at different points in the part lifetime; In some cases within a few hundred miles and in others, not until the vehicle has surpassed the factory warranty. Regardless of lifespan, which does appear to be much short than a consumer would expect, The greatest concern I have as a consumer is the potential for this part to suddenly and unexpectedly fail without warning, and potential risk that could have on the vehicles' occupants or other vehicles on the roadway. The inner core of these factory hard tops are made come a cardboard composite material; Ford has stated the cracks are generally cosmetic in nature, but myself, as well as numerous other owners, have concern that with time, if moisture penetrates the hairline cracks, the cardboard may cause unexpected deteriorate enhancing risk for part failure. This gives consumer a false sense of safety and security. Ford should be finding a long term solution to this issue instead of replacing factory hard tops replacements of the same kind that also fail. It is a matter of time before injury or death occurs due to Ford's lack of a long-term solution.

We were able to use the app to unlock the vehicle, but the vehicle would not detect the key. We replaced the batter in the key fob, but the issue persisted. Luckily we used Youtube to find a solution, which is to place the key in the bottom of the center console. The key fob will intermittently unpair from the vehicle. I believe this to be a common problem with Ford vehicles given that we found a solution on Youtube and there are a number of online forums where this issue is discussed. Had we not had the app, we would have been stranded hours from home with no way to access our vehicle.

A little over 10000 miles, the "Check Brake System" and "Parking" Brake Lights came on after starting the vehicle. Both Ford and the dealership were contacted and was advised that the coding through the system showed brake fluid level low with possible indication of brake fluid leaking. I asked if the vehicle was safe to drive and neither Ford or the dealership would say either way. The vehicle was taken to the dealership. For the first visit, the vehicle was at the dealership for an entire day and was told by the service advisor there wasn't anything wrong and to take it home. After leaving the dealership, the lights came on again. I took my vehicle to the dealership a second time and it sat there for another two days. Upon picking up my vehicle on the 2nd visit, I was told that the brake fluid level switch needed to be replaced and was resolved. The next day, the light comes on once again while driving. I called the dealership to talk to a service manager and was advised she would have an experienced technician dedicate their time to try and resolve the issue. The vehicle was at dealership for two days and upon pickup of the vehicle was told that the issue was due to an air bubble in the brake line and issue was resolved. I requested that the vehicle be test driven before pickup. Upon five minutes into my drive home, the lights come on once again. I've taken my vehicle to the dealership 3 times now and the dealership has had it for about 6 days during that time without resolution. I've contacted Ford customer service and the representative advised the issue would be documented, but there were currently no recalls for this issue. I've communicated with several other owners of the same vehicle experiencing the same issue without resolution. The lights are accompanied by a loud beeping noise and come on and off constantly making it a distraction when driving, and I am unable to tell if the parking brake is actually on or off since the light is constantly lit.

My engine has had a knocking problem since 3000 miles. Everytime I take it to Ford they agreed it has a knock but won't fix the problem stating it's normal and some engine knock more than others. The engine knocks at low rpm when stepping on the accelerator then smooths out about 1500 to 2000 rpm. One mechanic said it's an issue but they won't fix it unless it has a catastrophic failure this is unacceptable to me as they just want the vehicle to fall out of warranty when the engine finally gives way and doesn't turn on anymore. There are multiple Ford vehicles that have this issue and Ford does not seem to look into it and fix it please investigate the issues with knocking on all the Ford vehicles with the EcoBoost engines.

We installed new tires and wheels on our vehicle and it immediately started having engine problems and the check engine light comes on. We took it to the dealer and after several days back and forth Ford told the deal that it's a known problem with the 2.3L version of the Ford Bronco however they had no fix and no timeline to fix the problem. This creates a safety hazard as the engine program can't be updated and could cause damage to the engine and cause it to fail. The dealer then stated that they could not return the vehicle to us with the new tires and wheels we purchased and we had to put our old tires and wheels on. We counted on the old tires for a spare since we already blew one tire out. So in addition to a safety hazard we are currently out $2,500 we spent on new tires and wheels, and now have to purchase another tire of the exact same original size to have a spare, costing us another $300.

Front pinion seal leak is detected at where the front drive shaft meets the front differential. Ford attempted to fix it with a pinion seal replacement and the leak is still unresolved, second attempt was done by changing the front differential fluid which also did not resolve the issue. This issue is fairly common amongst bronco owners on forums and will be hard to come to the users’ attention unless the user checks under the vehicle so the problem may be more widespread than reported. The undetected loss of front differential fluid may cause overheating of the front differential over time as the fluid levels become low and potentially cause a lockup at high speed when the vehicle is used in 4A AWD mode. The leak can also be a fire hazard.

I have a 2023 Ford bronco that has the 2.3 L engine and seven speed manual transmission. It was originally purchased in January 2023. I live in Colorado so it is cold and on cold mornings, since I have received delivery of the vehicle, It has made and continues to make a grinding, scraping sound when the vehicle is in neutral, or the transmission is not engaged. The grinding, scraping sound will occur when driving in first, second, and third gear. If the weather is warm, as over last summer, it does not make the grinding, scraping sound. It has been consistently documented amongst other owners of this particular vehicle, the new sixth generation Ford bronco full-size vehicle with the 2.3 L engine and seven speed manual transmission , that these transmissions make this grinding, scraping sound. I have had it investigated by my local Ford dealership on two separate occasions, and although the tech on site at the dealership states that he can hear the grinding sound and agrees that it is an abnormal sound for a vehicle transmission to make, the Ford motor company has refused to do any type of repair or modification, or replacement of the transmission in my particular vehicle to correct the problem. However, when discussing this problem with other Ford bronco owners, Ford motor company’s response has been very irregular, one friend, in particular, has had his transmission replaced. I am very concerned that as transmissions tend to suffer with wear and tear, that should this transmission fail early due to the grinding, scraping sound, ford motor company will not replace it under warranty, stating that it was my fault or expected wear and tear, that the transmission failed early, when, in reality, it is just as likely that the early failure would be due to this abnormal, grinding, scraping sound.

The rear parking sensors (all of them) stopped working. Whenever the vehicle is placed in reverse a warning message is displayed on the dash. The vehicle was taken to a Ford dealer and it turns out a wire was damaged in the rear wiring loom. This was most likely due to physical damage from something hitting the wiring loom behind the right rear tire. The windshield was faulty upon delivery of our new 2 door Ford Bronco. Every time it rains, water pours inside the vehicle through the gaps in the windshield sealant. The water flows through the passenger side A-pillar, and comes out of the airbags, as well as the defrost vents, then flowing down the side of the dashboard, and landing on the front passenger floorboard. The service department had to replace the entire front passenger side A-pillar during our most recent visit. The windshield is a major structural component of a vehicle, and our dealership service department confirmed that our faulty windshield puts our safety and the safety of our passengers in danger of experiencing serious injury when the windshield sealant completely fails. We have been to the dealership twice for the water intrusion caused by the faulty windshield. The Ford service department staff said Ford has previously issued a recall for this exact issue, but the recall is not for our specific model, so the Ford service department was not able to replace our faulty windshield under warranty. The inability of the dealership to replace our faulty windshield under warranty forced us to make an insurance claim and replace the windshield on our own. Upon installing the new OEM windshield, the technician pointed out to us in person where the faulty windshield issue stemmed from. It is obviously clear that Ford never tested our vehicle's windshield sealant gaps before they shipped it out for delivery. If they did not test our windshield structure, there could be many other 2023 Ford Bronco 2 door models delivered with faulty windshields. NOTE: We have never taken our vehicle to any kind of car wash, as the owner's manual is very clear about avoiding these. We have also never removed any of the roof panels. Process of elimination removes both of these situations as secondary causes for water intrusion.

While driving at multiple different speeds in the rain and snow, the wiper blades on the vehicle slow down on their own to an intermittent speed without driver input. This slowing of the wiper blades causes the driver to lose visibility while driving, creating a safety hazard on the road. This issue has occurred numerous times when the wiper blades are set to the highest speed. After about one minute, the wiper blades start to slow down and eventually reach a stop/start speed where the blades only wipe every 5-10 seconds. To remedy this, the driver has to turn the wiper blades off and turn them back on again to get the wiper blades going again at the higher rate of speed. However, this only lasts for a short period of time (about one minute) and then the wiper blades slow down again on their own. The driver has to keep repeating this to be able to maintain visibility while driving in rain and snow conditions. This causes the driver to have to take a hand off of the steering wheel in inclement weather to keep adjusting the wiper blade speed. This issue has not yet been taken to a dealership for inspection, but this issue has been referenced in several online forums for this particular vehicle. There were no warning lamps or messages that appeared on the vehicle. In fact, in online forums, other Bronco customers have stated that Ford says this is how the wipers are supposed to operate.

My 2023 Ford Bronco has these "Advanced" wipers that automatically stop wiping when they think the windshield is dry or think the wiper motor may be damaged. When driving in heavy rain and you put the wipers on High (or even Low), they automatically switch to Intermittent after about 1 minute. They actually stop wiping at a high speed and pause between wipes for several seconds. In order to keep the wipers going in heavy, blinding rain you have to keep switching the wipers from Low to High to keep them moving. This is a safety hazard since you honestly cannot see though the windshield during heavy rain. After reading the Manual it appears this is a "feature" of the new Ford Bronco. This is a major safety issue and Ford should be required to fix the wiper motor on these vehicles.

Received Truck end of Dec 2022, immediately noticed that when it rains, the wipers at a certain speed have a glitch that suddenly stops and starts at a lower speed. I have video recording and took it to dealer. Dealer told me that it is a feature so the motor does not overheat. It made no sense because I could activate the higher speed and no problem with that one. First time it happened, was heavy rain at night while changing lanes and could have ended in an accident if there was more cars on the freeway. In short, dealer dismissed my concern even though I provided video of the issue.

Since I took delivery of my 2023 Ford Bronco on August 1, 2023 I have not been able to connect to the FordPass (get updates, etc..). Dealer replaced the Gateway Module and has not been able to load software onto the module. The Gateway Module is a "hub" that routes signal to major components of the vehicle (safety, body control, telematics, power train, etc..). Since replacing the Gateway Module, Ford has been unable to get the software to load properly. This issue has manifested itself in not only the Bronco, but the F-150 and Bronco Sport as well. My vehicle has been in dealership for this fix for over 10 weeks. Given this is a critical component to vehicle safety and I have seen on Bronco and F150 forums over 50 cases of this I believe someone needs to question the ability of Ford to service such a critical component of vehicle safety.

The hardtop is failing in a critical mounting point location. Stress cracks are forming on the exterior of the hardtop directly parallel to the interior mounting bolts. The vehicle has 1,500 miles. The risk of the hardtop failing to remain attached to the vehicle on the road due to structural cracks is the safety concern. For structural cracks to occur within the first 1,500 miles does not imply future safety of passengers or others on the road. The problem has been documented by a local Ford dealer that deemed this is not a warrantable condition. The cracks began to appear before the first 1,000 miles of ownership. This vehicle was purchased new and is 5 months old. There were no other symptoms prior to the failure. With how quickly the cracks appeared the concern is sudden and imminent failure while driving.

Two different times, my brakes have lost power. Both times were at slower speeds while coasting. The first time a car pulled out in front of me (about 50 feet ahead) and even though I was only going about 15 miles per hour I was barely able to stop in time. When I hit the brake pedal it felt rock hard (like when you pump the brakes with the engine off). The pedal did not go to the floor or anything like that. It stayed high in the stroke. No ABS sensation or warning lights. The next time I hit the brakes they worked normally. I couldn't reproduce the problem until about 2 months later I was leaving work and was pulling up the street at about 5 miles per hour when it did the same thing. It was almost flat ground and It was all I could do to press the brake pedal hard enough to stop in time. The symptoms were the same as the first time. The moment I hit the brake pedal again, all was normal. The weather was warm both times. The dealer cannot reproduce the problem

I ask that Ford be immediately compelled to issue guidance o confirming completion of Manufacturer Recall Number: 23C16 / NHTSA Recall Number: 23V358 for vehicles produced but held by dealers pending completion of this recall. Nearly three years ago I reserved a 2021 Bronco from Ford, after multiple model year changes and re-orders, I am still without the vehicle I eagerly anticipated. Despite this, I have been patient. My vehicle finally entered production on 4/26/23 and sat in this status until 6/27/23. Miraculously, after entering a built status on 6/29/23, it was delivered to the dealer on 7/9/23. I thought my wait was over. Sadly this was not the case, as a recall requiring two inexpensive plastic clips be installed on the rear seatbelts, originally announced in May was finally issued six weeks later on July 5th. Despite the fact that this recall did not affect vehicles built after May 9th, and it appears my Bronco was shipped with the recall being completed, but not marked as such in OASIS by the factory. This would seem to be a swift matter for the dealer to address, however, it has come to my attention that Ford may be unable to supply a relatively simple fix to dealers until Q4 and has not yet formalized a remedy to be implement at the dealer level depsite having implemented the correction at the factory, and this delay has put me in an untenable situation. On July 10th, I completed all purchase paperwork, and made payment in full. My vehicle is registered and insured in my name. The fix, as evidenced by the attached photos, was implemented at the factory. Despite this, my VIN is subject to a stop sale with no time horizon on correction of this bureaucratic oversight. Ford and NHTSA must take action now to permit me to take possession of a vehicle that meets all safety requirements and is currently losing value while sitting on a lot.

First time driving the vehicle in the rain at 55mph the wiper motor was turned on to high continuous during heavy down pour. After about 30 seconds the wipers just quit and started wiping on the lowest intermittent setting. Rain was hard enough I couldn’t see the road lines without the wipers and ran off the road. Had to greatly slow down 30mph to see clear enough to move forward while having other cars pass me and about cause another accident. I was able to find a spot to pull off the road and wait on the rain to stop. Called the dealer and they looked at it and said it was the rain sensing wipers and everything was working like it should. Broncos do not come with rain sensing wipers at all. Got a video of the issue and sent it to the dealer and they said same thing again. They don’t know what the problem is or how to fix it and that the wipers are working as is. This problem happens every time it rains and every time the wipers are put into either high or low continuous mode at 55mph. I have videos and service records I can provide if needed.

Resistance sensing wiper motor does not operate as advertised. The motor is designed to automatically slow if the windshield is dry or obstructed in order to keep the motor from overheating. However, regardless of windshield condition or setting the wipers begin slowing to the lowest setting after approximately 45 seconds. This creates an extremely dangerous condition during moderate to heavy rain as it leaves the driver with extremely poor visibility during critical driving conditions. The only way to speed up the wipers is to again cycle the switch which results in another 45 seconds of high speed operation. Again, this creates a dangerous situation by requiring the driver to repeatedly remove hands from the wheel during heavy precipitation. If left un-corrected this malfunction will most certainly be causal in injurious or fatal accidents.

While driving in mild to hard rain on 35 MPG and 70 MPG roadways I've had the wipers stop or randomly slow where I can't see vehicles ahead of me. Am concerned I will not be able to safety navigate to the offramp or side of road to safely wait for the rain to pass and ok to drive again. Bare minimum the top 3 speeds of the wiper controls should stay on unless driver manually choses intermittant option for road mist or light rain conditions. Within a week of owning it, the stabilizer bar went out and render the vehicle un drive able. We have a second issue that is even larger safety issue. The Vehicle is now dying and leaving you stranded on the side of the road. We have now had this happened to us three times on separate occasions. Once was on a trip back from Oklahoma to Dallas and the highway is under repair/construction and there are miles that there are only two lanes with no shoulder or exit to get off in case of auto problems. We found ourself at night that our Bronco lost total power and would not start back up. The vehicle has some kind of timer that will allow you to attempt to start it so many times in a period and then disable the ability to crank the engine. It gives you an error of "Cranking Time Exceeded" So where ever you are "Stuck on the highway in traffic, off the road on in your driveway, you will not be able to attempt to restart your motor if you exceed this time limit. Windshield wipers revert to 4 second intermittent delay after approximately 1 minute, regardless of the speed setting that was selected. E.G. Driving through heavy rain and sleet, the wipers were put onto the constant low setting. After approximately 1 minute (approximately 25 swipes), the wipers slow to a 4 second delay intermittent setting on their own, resulting in a completely obscured windshield for 4 seconds until the next wiper wipe. Changing the wiper knob to any other position resumes the newly selected position operation for another approximate minute, then reverts back to 4 second intermittent delay. With moderate or greater rain, or spray from nearby vehicles, the driver is forced to choose between operating the wiper control knob every minute, or having a completely obstructed windshield every 4 seconds. This problem has been present since the vehicle was purchased, and remains today.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Windshield wipers. Yes, it's available, but since it is environmentally dependent, it may be harder to capture. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Per Ford: "The vehicle is equipped with protection features to prevent damage to the wiper motor in case of overheating, usage on dry windshields or obstructions to the wiper blade due to snow or ice accumulation on the windshield. In such conditions, the wiper motor may restrict its speed, reduce area of cleaning or completely stop operation. System returns back to normal operation mode once conditions are resolved." The current "safety" measures put in place by Ford are actually causing a safety hazard when driving. When driving in rain so heavy that I couldn't see, in 37-degree weather, the wipers slowed down to once every 3-7 seconds, which means I was virtually blind that long on a freeway, going 70mph, and surrounded by vehicles. I haven't seen the issue when the wipers run slower (light-mid rain). At the most recent time of occurrence: * The temperatures were near, or below freezing, which should've helped keep the motors cool (I was driving through the mountains at the time). * There was so much rain that my windshield was completely obfuscated by a layer of water within about 1 second. It was not dry, at all. * There was no debris or build-up on the windshield, impeding the blades. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No. Other Bronco owners that have reported it were told "this is normal." Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Nothing indicated why it was happening. It just would happen.

The vehicle was purchased new on 03/23/23.Yesterday, I began to notice a vibration at low speeds when not applying the brake or gas. Today (03/29), 6 days after purchase, as I’m taking it back to the dealership and while in heavy traffic on I-10, the entire rear drivers side wheel separates from the car. All six lug studs had been completely sheared. My concern is that the studs may not be sufficient for the larger 35” tires that come standard on the Wildtrak series of the Bronco. If they are proven to be sufficient then I’d like to figure out why this occurred as this situation could have ended tragically for not only me but also for other drivers around me. On many occasions, when we have excessive rain, the windshield wipers on the Bronco will go from the high speed settings to much lower speed. Ford says this is by design to prevent overheating of the windshield wiper motors. In my opinion, it poses a severe safety risk, as the windshield wipers you cant count on when you need them the most. As of now Ford isn't acknowledging it as a problem, and claims its normal... but normal or not its a problem. As a side note, I've owned about 20 diff vehicles of all makes, shapes and sizes... and never had one that I couldnt leave windshield wipers on high without the motors burning up. Windshield wipers, on multiple settings will slow and then stop on their own. During many string rain events I have set the wipes to higher speeds to only have them slow down on their own or stop completely. This has been reported to Ford directly. At the time of operation the rain is heavy and once the wipers slow or stop it because very difficult to see and the person driving must react quickly to reengage the wipers. Continually having the wipers slow or stop and having to reengage them creates a very high risk of accident. Ford refuses to acknowledge the issue and instead indicates they are made this way to protect the wiper motor. I do not use my wipers when it is not raining, nor do I use higher speed on the wipers unless the rain is heavy. This is a reoccurring and ongoing issue every time I drive in the rain.

Wipers will not stay in continuous setting (low) for more than 20 seconds before slowing down to extra slow for another 20 seconds, then stopping continuous and becoming intermittent. Have to keep changing the wiper speed control manually to keep them going continuously. I started to notice a scraping/grinding noise that is coming from the transmission. It can be heard when I do a cold start and leave in in neutral. If I push the clutch in it goes away. Also, I noticed it a bit louder when I am in low gears such as 1-3, even while fully warmed up.

Within about three hours of buying the vehicle, while driving the ten speed automatic transmission at normal highway speeds there was a hard popping sound. The vehicle began to vibrate harshly and jerk. Upon continued driving it would stall in intersections in traffic like it was going to stop moving then jerk accelerate and pause again, multiple times. I have owned the vehicle for about 8 days and it has been in the shop for about 7 of those. I was told by the shop that i could continue to drive it or come get it until they are able to further disasemble the transmission, but it doesnt seem safe to drive a vehicle that feels like it is stalling. It was very dangerous when trying to accelerate in traffic and the vibration during normal speeds felt very unsafe.

When wipers are used on higher settings during moderate rain it will maintain speed for a short period of time then automatically go to a very slow intermediate speed on its own. This caused zero visibility without warning. My understanding is they do this to protect the wiper motor and do not value lives by causing obstructions in my vision. I have video of the issue.

During moderate rain the wipers were turned on and switched between the top 2 speeds. After a short period of time it automatically goes into a very slow intermittent mode causing loss of visibility. From my understanding this is part of fords “smart wiper” system to save the motor from burning out. This is extremely dangerous and almost caused an accident. I have video of this condition.

Wiper control issue - when the wipers are set to the standard slow or fast speed the wipers start to slow down after about 30 seconds and eventually go into intermittent. We have experienced this in the pouring rain, while traveling with children and it makes it impossible to see. We have contacted 2 dealerships, and both were able to replicate the problem and acknowledged it. However, Ford will not acknowledge that there is a problem, and we are told that there is nothing that they can do. We also called Ford Customer Service and were told to read page 100 of our owner's manual and if we still had problems to seek out dealerships until we got a resolution.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH in inclement weather, the windshield wipers were activated on high-speed but failed to operate at the highest setting. The contact stated that the windshield wiper defaulted to intermediate speed and deactivated and turned off independently on other occasions. The contact stated that there was a safety feature to deactivate the windshield wipers if the windshield was dry however, it was raining and snowing so the feature should not have been activated. The contact stated that his vision was affected by the failure. The contact toggled with the settings, causing his attention to be diverted from the road which could have caused a crash. When driving at any speed from local roads to highways in inclement weather from light rain to sleet to heavy rain, the wipers revert from high speed to intermittent (slow) speed after a period of 30 seconds to 2 minutes and do not revert back to the necessary speed for safe vehicle operation. During sleet and heavy rainfall it became difficult to see out of windshield and I had to keep adjusting the speed of the wipers every 30 seconds to 2 minutes in order for them to operate correctly. Vehicle was brought into the service department at a Ford dealership and I was told it is a “feature of the Smart Wiper Motor Operation” and to pick up the vehicle with no repair available. According to service department it is Ford Special Service Message #51377. I have also found the statement referred to as “SSM 50692” in my own research.

While driving in the rain the windshield wipers will randomly slow down to a very unsafe level, making it very difficult to see out of the front windshield. When driving in rainy conditions, the windshield wipers cease to function at the selected setting. This happens at any setting. Specifically, after approximately 30 seconds, the windshield wipers slow to a greatly reduced and intermittent speed. This causes extreme issues with visibility, which in turn, creates a major safety issue, especially at highway speeds. This is not one incident. It happens every time the windshield wipers need to be turned on due to visibility.

I was driving in rain and the wipers were initially working fine. Then for no reason they just started slowing down. The rain was still heavy and the vehicle does not have rain sensing wipers so there is no reason they should have slowed down. In moderate or even heavy precipitation the vehicle will reduce wiper speed from high or low continuous to intermittent, severely reducing and limiting visibility. I took it to Corwin Ford in Reno to fix this and they say that it does this on purpose and it is working as designed. Picture was taken while it was doing this, even with this much rain on the windshield the wipers won't stay in low constant and reduces the wiper speed to intermittent resulting in this level of visibility.

When attempting to use the wipers on low speed setting (constant on at a low speed, not on any of the intermittent settings) in medium and heavy rain situations, the wipers will initially operate at the constant low speed, and then after 1 to 2 minutes, the wipers will slow down significantly to a very low speed intermittent speed. The only way to get the wipers to return to the constant low speed setting is to switch the control stalk setting to high speed wipers and then return the switch to the low speed setting. Even when turning on the wipers at the high speed setting, the wipers will slow down significantly to a very low intermittent speed. This is a dangerous condition that creates issues in attempting to see during steady rain conditions.

I was driving in moderate rain today and had the windshield wipers in the low setting (continuous wipe, not intermittent). After approximately 60 seconds, the wipers stopped continuous wipe and I could not see. I switched to high, the wipers began working again so I switched back to low. 60-90 seconds later, the wipers once again stopped their continuous wipe, I could not see, so switched to high to get them working again. I continued my drive, having to switch the function from low to high to keep them operating. When the rain let up, I was able to see when the wipers quit and noticed they decided to wipe intermittently, despite being in the low (continuous) position. As my drive continued the rain let up a little, I switched to intermittent high (shortest delay). This function worked for about 10 wipes, then the delay increased and I couldn't see between wipes and had to manipulate the switch again to gain visibility of the road and oncoming traffic. To answer the questions I offer the following: 1. The wipers do NOT work in the position selected even if there is significant water on the windshield. 2. When the wipers stop working, you can't see out of the windshield. This requires constant manipulation of the switch, taking a hand off the wheel which endangers me, any occupants, and others on the road. 3. I have not gone to the dealer. I read the 25 page post on the B6G forum and found many others have experienced this as well and a link for this site to post the issue. 4. It has not been inspected by anyone. 5. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms. The vehicle only has 700 miles and this is the first time I've driven it in the rain when I needed continuous wipers.

The wipers will slow down to almost a complete stop after approximately 1 minute of operation no matter what setting they are on (constant or intermittent) no matter how much rain is on the windshield on my 2023 Ford Bronco. This issue requires the driver to constantly adjust the wiper switch to keep the wipers operating to keep the windshield clear. Ford has issued a SSM on this issue for 2021-2022 Models, but does not appear to be considering this a safety problem. Text of SSM: "2021-2022 Bronco vehicles are equipped with a smart windshield wiper motor, which has the capability of sensing load of the wiper blades coming across the windshield glass. As a result of this operational characteristic/design, the operation may not be what is expected in certain conditions. The vehicle is programmed with protection features to prevent damage to the wiper motor in case of overheating, operation with dry windshields, or obstructions to the wiper blade (snow, ice, etc.). In such conditions, the wiper motor will temporarily reduce its speed and/or reduce area of cleaning until the condition is no longer present."

This seems to be a very common and reproducible issue that Ford Motor Company has yet to address. Here is an clip from a Bronco forum that I follow, and there are literally pages and pages of owners reporting the same issue. This happened to me last night during freezing rain. It was not just an inconvenience, but extremely dangerous! Doing 65-70 on the highway with medium/light rain and the wipers on my Bronco kept changing speed and slowing substantially over time. I had to constantly switch speeds, change the setting on the stalk just to keep them going at times. It was terrifying. @Ford this is legitimately worrying and I do not feel safe taking trips or driving with this. I have seen other threads with this issue but to experience it is a totally different feeling. Anyone else experience this or have had the issue fixed? It's any setting, the continuous, the rain detecting, any one and it slows super slow over maybe 3-5 minutes almost to a crawl. This truck has never been off road or beat on. It did this over an hour highway drive and about an hour around town on one trip.

Within the first 500 miles on my brand new bronco, I noticed a strange burning smell after driving it one day. The next morning when I started it, I heard what I thought was a heat shield rattle, and as I continued to drive my bronco to work throughout the week the noise got worse. Last weekend my wife and I went on a 400 mile trip and the noise was so bad when we returned I scheduled an appointment with the dealership this week. They apparently opened up the transmission today and found metal shavings and a broken case piece so they determined that mine was not eligible to be rebuilt and are ordering a new transmission which will not be available until the end of March or into April. In the meantime the dealership has advised me to continue driving the vehicle as they do not have any rentals available at this time. I have spoken to many Bronco owners and seen thread on online message boards that everyone has the same issue. After reading the Manual it appears this is a "feature" of the new Ford Bronco. This is a major safety issue and Ford should be required to fix the wiper motor on these vehicles. The issue happens on all of the model years - 2021 - 2023.

The windshield wiper controllers are seriously malfunctioning. When switched on, they work for the first minute, then the speed at which they are running changes significantly. On 1/20/23, I had the wipers on the highest setting with a heavy rain, after a few minutes, they suddenly began decreasing the frequency of when they would wipe the windshield until it eventually nearly stopped wiping all together. This is a serious safety hazard as I was unable to see and had to turn off the wipers and turn them back on to reset them. I hope this issue is handled rapidly as I have noticed many others have the same problem. My son drove the car recently in a hard rain and came home and questioned me what the heck was wrong with the wipers. He experienced the same thing.
