The contact owns a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was jumpstarted and taken to the dealer, where the battery for the Auto START/STOP system was replaced; however, the failure recurred several days later. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, where a reconfiguration was completed as per the manufacturer’s instructions. The contact stated that both batteries were charged and tested, and the contact was informed that the batteries had passed the test; however, the voltage went from 12.5 volts to 11.7 volts in three days. The check engine warning light was illuminated, and the messages "Battery Needs Charging" and "Battery Low" were displayed. The vehicle was returned to the dealer a third time and remained for additional diagnostic tests. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by the dealer. The failure mileage was 791.
The engine hesitates when accelerating from a stop. Especially while turning. This happens 100% of the time. If you are accelerating very slowly, then no issue. However this is not common. The hesitation has resulted in several near accident situations.
New 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee (2.0L turbo I4) has open, unrepaired safety recall 26V-559 (FCA 54D): the tire pressure monitoring system may not detect low tire pressure or illuminate the warning telltale; remedy is an RFH module reprogram. The vehicle also has an open manufacturer campaign for 2.0L engine spark plug replacement and additional software flash campaigns. I scheduled service for these recalls at an authorized FCA/Stellantis dealer (Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, Boise, ID). I dropped the vehicle off on a Wednesday at 7:00 AM; the dealer kept it nearly 4 full days and returned it Saturday evening with zero recall work performed, citing shop scheduling delays. The service advisor told me to call/email the following Tuesday to reschedule; those calls and emails were not returned. Voicemails and emails to the dealership's service manager and general manager have also gone unanswered. As a result, I am driving a new vehicle with an incomplete safety recall and no dealer remedy scheduled. No crash, fire, or injury has occurred. Problem has not been inspected by the manufacturer. I have escalated to the manufacturer and am attempting to book the recall at an alternate dealer. I am reporting that the manufacturer's dealer network has failed to remedy this safety recall in a timely manner.
NEW SAFETY INCIDENTS – [XXX] – PREVIOUS COMPLAINT ON FILE I am reporting additional serious safety concerns involving my 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Reserve, purchased new on [XXX]. Since purchasing this vehicle, I have experienced repeated bucking, jerking, rough engine operation, hesitation, loss of power, and stalling. On [XXX], the vehicle completely stalled. On [XXX], it nearly stalled while traveling through a busy intersection with my granddaughter in the vehicle. The vehicle was at Douglas Jeep for approximately 24 days, from September 23 through October 16, 2026. The dealership replaced all eight spark plugs after discovering excessive oil or unburned fuel contamination on the plugs. Despite these repairs, the dangerous drivability problems continue. During a recent test drive, Douglas Jeep General Manager John Grupe personally experienced the vehicle bucking and jerking at low speeds. On [XXX], I experienced additional concerning vehicle movement. After shifting into reverse while backing out of my driveway, the Jeep moved backward at approximately 4–5 mph without my foot pressing the accelerator. When shifting into drive, the vehicle also moved forward without accelerator input, reaching approximately 5 mph and maintaining that speed until I applied the brakes. I recorded video evidence of these incidents. The vehicle continues to buck and jerk severely at low speeds, including while maneuvering, turning, and driving through parking areas. I am particularly concerned about pedestrians, children, and other motorists. Despite multiple repair attempts and approximately 30 days out of service, these problems remain unresolved. I have repeatedly notified Stellantis and the dealership about the continuing safety concerns. I am requesting that NHTSA document these new incidents in connection with my previous safety complaint and evaluate whether these recurring drivability problems represent INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
While driving approximately 65-70 mph on a highway, my 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 with approximately 15,000 miles suddenly jerked to the right and a loud knocking/clunking noise was heard from the drivetrain area. Immediately afterward, vehicle performance decreased significantly and the vehicle struggled to accelerate. The sudden loss of power at highway speed created a safety hazard due to surrounding traffic. No warning lights or messages appeared. The condition persists and the vehicle continues to have acceleration problems. This was very unsafe because either myself or other couldve been injured. I called jeep and they told me to drive it in to the Dodge dealership in Andrews TX, I want to emphasizes this is very unsafe, because it wont accelerate as it should. I have to drive down a road that oil tanker semis drive on as well.
"I am filing this supplemental report to provide critical new technical information regarding a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Reserve. This vehicle has experienced recurring engine instability, including rough idling, jerking, bucking, and loss of power. Most critically, on September 22, 2026, the vehicle nearly stalled while traveling 25–30 mph through a busy intersection, creating an immediate and severe safety hazard. Following this incident, an extensive investigation by Douglas Jeep, Stellantis STAR technical assistance, and a manufacturer engineer revealed oil contamination inside the engine cylinders and on the spark plugs. This is a recurring issue; the spark plugs were replaced prior to the vehicle's delivery in August 2026 and were replaced again in October 2026. Despite the involvement of a Stellantis engineer, the manufacturer has failed to provide a diagnosis of the root cause of the oil contamination or a permanent repair. The vehicle has spent approximately 30 cumulative days out of service since August 17, 2026. I am reporting this as a systemic mechanical failure that poses a significant risk of sudden power loss during operation."
driving down the road at any speed, the jeep will stop on a dime like you applied the full brake and shut off. i this has occurred 4 different time almost causing 2 bad accidents, one involving an unloaded log truck on hwy 130 in nc and the other one on hwy 544 in sc. The other two were while trying to accelerate out onto the rd. All this occurs without any warning. The engine will race quickly up to 35mph making rpm go to 7, the dash will go completely red when pulling off at red lights. I refuse to drive it thru a small town where people cross at, Jeep has been reported back to dealerships for all the same reoccurring problems since 130 miles.. Spark plugs replaced 2, elec parts been replaced , nothing is fixing the problem. MB Jeep is where i purchased the Jeep. Will not hold a speed, it will control speed itself. I took it back Saturday to dealership, bc I refuse to get killed or kill anyone else with all these problems. I was also told that my jeep of the 26 model engine change out was no the only one. All of them are coming back in with major problems.
Jeep just died going down the road - idle is off - report from computer says misfire on cylinders and bad emissions. Also auto shot off doesn’t work and radio freezes up.
On September 22, 2026, at 1,445 miles, my brand-new 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee suffered a sudden powertrain failure and almost stalled in a live traffic intersection. The vehicle experienced an active loss of motive power with no dashboard warning lights. I drove it immediately to Douglas Jeep, where the Service Manager scanned the vehicle and found active fault code P032F-00 (Insufficient Engine Torque) stored in the computer. The vehicle was grounded the next morning, September 23, 2026. Authorized technicians confirmed liquid engine oil intrusion into the cylinder head had flooded the main chamber spark plugs. This manufacturing defect causes sudden engine hesitation and loss of motive power in active traffic, creating an imminent crash hazard."
My 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee has experienced repeated engine shutdown and braking-related failures while driving. The vehicle is currently at an authorized Jeep dealership and is available for inspection upon request. On May 17, 2026, while driving to Fair Oaks dealership due to an unusual engine noise, the check engine and brake warning lights came on. The engine then shut off while I was in the roadway, and I experienced loss of normal braking ability. I was frightened but managed to move the vehicle safely to the side of the road without a collision. The dealer inspected the vehicle, replaced the spark plugs, and returned it on May 29. I later received a recall notice involving the spark plug issue. I returned the vehicle to the dealer on September 11, 2026, and the recall/service work was completed. On September 23, 2026, while driving to work, a similar dangerous failure occurred again. The check engine light came on, the engine shut off while the vehicle was moving, and I again experienced a braking problem. I was terrified but fortunately managed to stop safely. The vehicle was towed to the authorized Jeep dealership. The dealer inspected it and told me the problem was related to the auxiliary battery and repaired it. The problem has therefore occurred more than once and has been inspected/repaired by an authorized Jeep dealer. Jeep Customer Care has also been notified under Case #98217351. To my knowledge, police and insurance representatives have not inspected the vehicle because no collision occurred. I have not picked up the vehicle because I no longer feel safe driving it. An engine shutting off together with braking problems while the vehicle is moving creates a serious risk of a crash, injury, or death to me, my family, other motorists, and pedestrians. No one has been injured so far, but I believe we were extremely fortunate. I request that NHTSA investigate this repeated safety failure.
I purchased a new 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited on August 31, 2026. Immediately after taking delivery, I discovered that the vehicle’s Assist and Automatic SOS services were not functioning. The Automatic SOS system does not connect to the required service, and these safety features remain unavailable. I reported the issue to Jeep Customer Care on September 1, 2026. Since then, I have worked extensively with Jeep Customer Care, the assigned Case Manager, Jeep’s technical team, and the dealership to resolve the problem. The issue was escalated to Jeep’s technology team and, according to Jeep representatives, to AT&T as a Critical Safety concern. Jeep has specifically classified this matter as a Safety Issue. The dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed the issue. A Star Case was also initiated at the direction of Jeep Customer Care for further investigation. Despite these efforts, I have now been dealing with this issue for 23 days without a resolution or definitive timeframe for when the safety-related services will be restored. I have been advised that there is no estimated timeframe and that resolution could take days, weeks, or potentially months. I have also been told that Jeep considers this issue unique to my specific vehicle and that it is not affecting other like vehicles. I purchased a new vehicle with the reasonable expectation that all advertised safety and emergency-assistance features would be operational at delivery. After 23 days, these critical services remain unavailable. Given Jeep’s own classification of this matter as a Safety Issue, I am requesting an immediate and appropriate resolution, including replacement of the vehicle with a comparable new vehicle in which the Assist and Automatic SOS safety services are fully operational.
The contact owns a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle was idling roughly, shuddering while turning, and hesitating while accelerating. The failures had occurred approximately three times. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 15-20 MPH and attempting to merge onto the highway, several unknown warning lights illuminated, an alarm sounded, and there was an abnormal burning odor, prompting the driver to pull over to the side of the road, where the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was restarted after several minutes and operated as intended. Additionally, the contact stated that while making a left turn onto a street, the vehicle stalled, nearly causing a crash with oncoming traffic. The contact promptly shifted into Park (P), restarted the vehicle, and continued driving. The contact also stated that while going through a car wash with the gear shifter in neutral(N), the Auto Park mode engaged, and the vehicle was almost rear-ended. The car wash was shut down, and the vehicle was pushed with assistance before being restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer twice; however, the contact was informed that no trouble codes were retrieved. The spark plugs were replaced under an unknown recall, and the shuddering ceased temporarily, but the failures persisted. The failure mileage was approximately 357.
The engine lag before the turbo kicks in has on two incidents now almost created 2 accidents. We have only owned this vehicle for one month. Out of that month 2-weeks of that it was in the dealership. 1- trying to merge into a roundabout 2- trying to cross an intersection My wife refuses to drive the vehicle now because it's unsafe. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer for the problem. They had it for 2-weeks and told us there is nothing wrong that's how it's supposed to run. There are no warning lights on the dash
Final NHTSA Complaint Vehicle information * Year: 2026 * Make: Jeep * Model: Grand Cherokee * Trim: Limited Reserve * Engine: Hurricane four-cylinder * VIN: [XXX] * Current mileage: 1,199 miles * Incident mileage: 1,181 miles * Incident location: Parking lot in [XXX] * Manufacturer case number: XXX * Dealerships involved: Sarasota Jeep and Venice Jeep Complaint title Bucking, jerking, rough running, unexpected forward movement, and stalling in Reverse Complaint description I am reporting a possible safety defect involving my 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Reserve equipped with the Hurricane four-cylinder engine, VIN [XXX]. The vehicle repeatedly bucks and jerks during acceleration, including at approximately 5 mph in parking lots. It also runs roughly and has demonstrated unexpected forward movement. These problems affect the vehicle’s ability to accelerate and operate smoothly and may create a safety risk near pedestrians, parked vehicles, other objects, and surrounding traffic. On XXX, at approximately 4:49 p.m., in a parking lot in [XXX], and with the vehicle at approximately 1,181 miles, I shifted the vehicle into Reverse. The Jeep shook severely and stalled. After I restarted the Jeep, it ran very roughly, continued bucking, and jumped forward unexpectedly. This created a potential risk of striking another vehicle, pedestrian, or object in the parking lot. The vehicle also continues to buck and jerk at approximately 5 mph in parking lots, creating an additional risk of unexpected movement near pedestrians, parked vehicles, and other obstacles. On XXX, at approximately 6:22 p.m., I contacted Jeep Customer Care and reported that the vehicle had stalled when I shifted into Reverse and that it ran very roughly after restarting. The manufacturer case number is XXX. I previously reported the bucking and jerking condition to Jeep dealerships. A service advisor at Sarasota Jeep stated INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited - Once I shut down engine, when I opened the door to exit, it started beeping at me. After a few minutes looking around to make sure I hadn't left a door open or something, I thought maybe it hadn't registered that it was in Park, and Shut Off. I pushed the "Start" button, and the dash had a message "Ignition On". When I tried to put it in Reverse, it moved on it's own back into Park, and again displayed "Ignition On". I tried putting it in Drive, and the "D" just flashed at me and finally moved back to "P". I'm not sure exactly when this was displayed, but there was a message at one point that said something about the "Start/Stop" function, but it wasn't visible long enough for me to catch what it said. I called my son who came over and we troubleshooted (I was afraid to remove my foot from the brake due to other horror stories I've heard about, so I sat there for several minutes with my foot on the brake waiting for my son to hopefully know what to do). Once he was there, he asked me to slowly remove my foot from the brake. When I did, he could feel the Jeep trying to move forward. After some other testing/troubleshooting, he asked me to lock the door and see what happened. I did so, waiting a few minutes and turned it back on. This time it worked as expected and started. I'm driving this car all the way to Texas next week, and I'm terrified (especially now that I see ANOTHER recall - that's 3 since I bought the car 60 days ago) that something horrible is going to happen! I do not feel safe in this car, and I just spent ALOT of money on it!
Jeep is violating federal recall mandates under Case #97911550. My 3-month-old vehicle was grounded at the dealership for two mandatory safety recalls, and the dealer had no loaner cars available. While my third-party rental stayed well under the company's $60 daily cap, Stellantis has refused to fully reimburse the mandatory, non-discretionary state fees (New Jersey Domestic Security Fee and Vehicle Recovery Fee), as well as an uber transportation cost to retrieve a third party loaner, leaving me with a $58.20 out-of-pocket balance. The manufacturer has failed to provide a zero-cost remedy as required by the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act despite several requests for them to do so.
The contact owns a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact had received an undisclosed recall; however, the recall repair was not performed while the contact was out of town. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle shuddered abnormally. The check engine warning light was illuminated after the failure. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer; however, it was indicated that the recall repair was claimed at another authorized dealer, LaFontaine Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Walled Lake (1111 S Commerce Rd, Walled Lake, MI 48390). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
I have purchased brand new a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee The engine is the new 4 cylinder hurricane engine with turbo I have had multiple incidents of flat to dull pick up when in motion between the speeds of 15-30 mph resulting in multiple near misses for serious accidents. I submitted a ticket with Jeep, had the vehicle reviewed by my dealer only to be told this is within normal limits Two days ago my vehicle went into full rattle mode and shut down on me in an intersection causing another near miss. My jeep is in the shop again as of this writing i also have had multiple shutdowns of my electronic screens when the vehicle is under load.
I burned my right fingers when I went to Move the metal sharp gear selector knob,I was trying to reverse And the Dial knob was to hot to touch,I had to find a cloth to cover it so I dident burn my hand again, then I was able to move it to reverse and then drive, this very unsafe. My next problem was that in the parking lot the other day I think it was 8/20/2026,I was at a stop sign and took my foot off brake and the car started bucking and almost hit another car driving by,the car is jumping on its own,the salesmen who just sold me the car said this is normal because it’s a turbo, this is extremely dangerous, and my last problem is that there is excessive orange peel on the entire body of the car,and on the hood also,in which is very distracting and takes my line of sight off the road when driving, this is very dangerous in my opinion, all these issues are very serious ,the dealer already knows about the bucking of vehicle because it’s all over the internet, and I submitted a letter to the general manger about the excessive orange peel paint defect,I am confirming toad that I tell them about. Dangerous shift knob heating up and the bucking sudden jolts also,I am calling service dept and jeep customer service today to report it I will get a case number
This engine does not run smoothly, it jerks coming out of a stop so there is delayed acceleration and it jerks every time you change gears. So I am almost rear ended at every stop light and stop sign. It also can lose acceleration or fail to accelerate on highways.
I purchased a new 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit equipped with the new 2.0L Hurricane 4 Turbo. The vehicle has a repeatable and potentially dangerous accelerator-response problem. From a complete stop, I can apply substantial/full accelerator input and the vehicle initially provides little or no expected acceleration. The vehicle may begin creeping forward and the tachometer may begin moving, but there is little corresponding engine sound or vehicle acceleration. After approximately two seconds, the vehicle begins responding and accelerating however it is still extremely sluggish and dangerous. The condition has been repeatedly reproduced in both Normal and Sport modes. I have also experienced delayed RPM increase and delayed transmission response/downshift while already moving. The condition has occurred when attempting to enter traffic and creates a safety concern because the vehicle does not immediately respond as expected to accelerator input. The dealership initially told me the vehicle was operating normally based on diagnostic readings amd that because of the computers and software there is no direct throttle response on these drive by wire vehicles anymore. That is simply intrue. The dealership subsequently had the shop foreman test drive with me in the vehicle. The foreman experienced the condition and agreed there was an issue with the lack of throttle response. I repeated the issue multiple times from stop, ehile turning, and at speed. The dealership is now involving a technical advisor. The dealer has told me that a Stellantis service bulletin concerning similar drivability symptoms does not apply to my VIN. I am not alleging that the bulletin applies to my vehicle. I am reporting the actual safety-related behavior because I believe it warrants investigation regardless of whether my VIN is currently included in that service action.
The contact owns a 2026 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving and making a right turn, the vehicle hesitated and jerked while depressing the accelerator pedal. Additionally, the contact stated that while attempting to accelerate from a complete stop, the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle was turned off and restarted and responded as intended upon shifting into drive(D). No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a loss of battery communication with the computer due to a dead battery. The battery was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under an unknown recall. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for a third time, but no further diagnostic information was available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact not to trade the vehicle due to the safety risk. The service manager informed the contact that another repair attempt was required before the vehicle could be considered under the Lemon Law. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10.
This is for Jeep's brand new Hurricane 4 engine. The buyer has no option to chose the reliable 3.6L 6 cylinder in the 2026 Summit model. Theis 4 cylinders throttle response lag, from a stop or slow speed, is EXTREMELY dangerous! When trying to move into traffic from a street or driveway the Jeep just rolls slowly as if it was in Neutral; there is no acceleration. I can floor the accelerator pedal & it takes literally a full 2 seconds every time before the engine responds. All the while the traffic you are trying to safely merge into is rapidly approaching. I took my Jeep to the Jeep Service Department & their response was "NO DTCS. COMPARE TO LIKE VEHICLE, AT THIS TIME WORKING TO SPEC . NOTE ENGINE IS TURBO EQUIP AND MAY HAVE A SLIGHT DELAY UNTIL TURBO KICKS IN". No throttle response for 2 seconds does not fall into the category of a "SLIGHT DELAY". When a vehicle is approaching at 45-50+ MPH and you have no throttle response ... it's an accident waiting to happen.
The contact owns a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated and started blinking quickly before remaining continuously illuminated. The vehicle was jerking, and while it was in park, it vibrated excessively. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. STAR engineers later determined that the spark plugs were inoperable. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred shortly afterwards. The vehicle was then towed back to the local dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact requested a loaner vehicle, but the request was denied. The manufacturer had not been contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 788.
Vehicle was purchased new from a franchised dealer. Six days after purchase, at approximately 105 miles on the odometer, the vehicle experienced a transmission failure while being driven with my family, including a young child, on board (warning message displayed - Service Transmission, loss of forward motion, harsh shifting, inability to shift gears while driving on the street). The vehicle was taken to the selling dealer, whose service department diagnosed a failure of the transmission valve body. The diagnosis was made and documented by the dealer's service department, and service records exist confirming the failure. The failed component was NOT on the dealer's possession as part of the repair process; availability for inspection is UNKNOWN, as the dealer subsequently replaced the entire vehicle with a new unit rather than returning the original vehicle to me. Prior to the failure, A WARNING MESSAGE stating "Service Transmission" appeared. The manufacturer was notified of the failure through its customer care process. To my knowledge the vehicle was not inspected by police or insurance representatives. Safety risk: a drivetrain failure on a vehicle in its first week of service presented a risk of unexpected loss of motive power in traffic with passengers aboard, including a child.
I bought the vehicle less than 60 days when it had a major engine failure. The spark plug broke off into the engine and bounced around causing a failure. This is a known problem with this vehicle from the factory, from which I was not aware. At first they said they were putting a new engine in and now corporate is trying to get it out the door asap so they cant be forced to buy back the vehicle as a lemon, which I requested through corporate and started an arbitration process per the contract. The vehicle is being serviced at diehl of moon. The service manager there I am dealing with is James. They have had my vehicle since the check engine light came on and was flashing on June 17th.
Odometer fraud: On [XXX], I purchased 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee VIN [XXX] from Clay Cooley Dallas Dodge as "new." Federal Odometer Disclosure Statement and Retail Installment Contract stated 10 miles. Actual odometer at delivery: 124 miles after dealer disclosed dead battery replacement delayed delivery. No corrected Federal Odometer Disclosure Statement was provided as required by 49 USC 32705. Vehicle delivered was non-conforming to advertised characteristics: 1. Dealer digital showroom pictured 2026 Grand Cherokee with captain's chairs, 3rd row seating, chrome accents, silver wheels. I contracted based on those images. 2. Delivered: bench seat, no 3rd row, black painted 20" wheels. Salesman Cesar Ortiz confirmed "third row" by phone 6/16/2026 while viewing same images. 3. Delivery included Used Car Buyer's Guide and AS-IS disclosure prohibited on new vehicle sales under Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act 15 USC 2301, plus VTR-271 Limited Power of Attorney improper for new retail under TX Transp Code 501.147. 4. No executed Retail Installment Contract, Odometer Disclosure Statement, or Buyer's Guide provided at [XXX] delivery as required by TILA 15 USC 1638(b). Documents provided 6/23/2026 still falsely state 10 miles. Vehicle rejected under UCC INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I purchased a new 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee on May 9, 2026. On June 4, 2026, less than one month after purchase, the vehicle experienced a sudden brake system failure while I was driving. The brake pedal became hard and unresponsive, the ABS warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle had very limited stopping power. Fortunately, I was able to safely drive the vehicle to the dealership without an accident or injuries. The dealership diagnosed the problem as a failed brake booster (part # 68734134AB) requiring replacement. However, the replacement brake booster is on backorder, and Stellantis has confirmed that there is currently no estimated delivery date and no assigned distribution for the part. As a result, my vehicle has been out of service for 4 weeks with no repair timeline. Stellantis has acknowledged that this involves a critical safety component but has been unable to provide a meaningful resolution beyond monitoring the backorder. I continue to make lease payments, insurance payments, and other vehicle-related expenses for a brand-new vehicle that I cannot safely operate because of a warranty-covered safety defect. This is a serious safety concern because the failure involved the vehicle's braking system and significantly reduced the vehicle's ability to stop. Had this occurred at highway speeds or in heavy traffic, the consequences could have been catastrophic. I am submitting this complaint because I believe this brake system failure warrants investigation to determine whether it affects other 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles and whether the lack of availability of replacement brake boosters for a critical safety component creates an ongoing risk to consumers. A vehicle with a brake system failure should not remain out of service indefinitely because a safety-critical replacement part is unavailable.
After 3 months and less than 800 miles the service transmission light came on. While driving to the dealership, the engine light came on, followed by bells and buzzers. The dealership said our transmission valve connector was defective. It’s been there 2 weeks still waiting for the part to come in. We paid nearly 70 thousand for this vehicle and now there’s a transmission issue
Purchase the vehicle May 19th and on arriving home later that week realize the passenger rear wheel well had no plastic nuts holding it on which also holds the bumper support beam so therefore the rear bumper was blowing in the wind. Contacted Capital City Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram about it and they offered no solution to this so I ended up having to buy parts from Mopar parts online to attempt to correct. The wheel liner could have easily blown out of the wheel Arch and caused a safety issue had we not taken one of the nuts from the driver side and put on the passenger to hold it more firm. Dealership sent an email saying that they simply cannot check all of these safety issues in a 15 minute inspection when they come off the truck.
First, after a trip of approximately 100 miles, the vehicle would not advance after stopping at a STOP sign. I had to shift from DRIVE to PARK and back to DRIVE before the vehicle would move. In the second case, again after a trip over 100 miles, primarily on the highway, the vehicle failed to shift out of first gear while the engine revved to over 7,000 RPM when I left an intersection. In that instance a warning light came up on the dash indicating RPMs in the red zone. Once again I had to pull over, put the vehicle in PARK and re-engage DRIVE before the vehicle would drive in a more normal fashion. It was the following day, when I entered the dealership for a service appointment, that the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle did not run smoothly. The service department determined it was a spark plug issue and claims the problem has been resolved. They also said this issue is fairly common on new (2026) Jeep Grand Cherokee models. There is less than 1,200 miles on the vehicle. I feel I was very lucky that the situation in both instances was relatively safe and there was minimal risk of injury, death and/or property damage. I have lost all confidence in the vehicle.
Heavy vibration of entire vehicle when in reverse. Occasional lack of power when accelerating. Issues with the transmission occasionally failing to shift gears.
