The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no recalls associated with the VIN for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. This submission is an update to NHTSA Complaint #11727024. The vehicle continues to experience recurring engine overheating and misfire conditions. These issues have been previously diagnosed and are consistent with known manufacturer Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) related to this engine. Despite this: The dealership has not performed the appropriate diagnostic protocol (including STAR testing) The manufacturer, Stellantis, closed my case without resolving the issue No repair or corrective action has been completed The vehicle remains in operation due to lack of manufacturer support. This condition presents a potential safety risk, including: Loss of power while driving Risk of engine failure or shutdown Increased risk during normal roadway operation The vehicle is regularly operated by my 17-year-old daughter, which increases concern regarding driver safety and reliability of the vehicle under these conditions. My son’s car drifted to the right past the white line and he ended up hitting a hydrant and continued at least 100 ft before stopping. Our dash cam showed a slow smooth drift to the right without any lane assist being activated to pull the car back. All safety features were activated and turned on the day we bought the car for him. It was the main reason we chose this model. He is very lucky to be alive. After the impact, the car just barely missed a business sign, a telephone pole and a tree. The car was declared totaled. Unfortunately, the total amount the insurance is offering is about 4k short of what we still owe. Words cannot express how lucky we are that our son is okay, but we are very angry that the features we bought the car for, failed him.

I am reporting a repeated safety-related issue involving my 2021 Jeep Cherokee Overland. The vehicle has experienced ongoing engine misfires and overheating, which create unsafe driving conditions. The issue presents as follows: -Engine begins to misfire, causing rough operation and shaking. -The check engine light flashes intermittently indicating active misfire. -Vehicle performance becomes inconsistent, with concern for loss of power while driving. -Vehicle experiencing coolant loss/overheating, concern for engine failure. Multiple repair attempts have been made, including replacement of ignition components (coils and spark plugs) and other related service. The issue continues to recur, and the root cause has not been resolved. Despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue through the dealership and manufacturer, the problem persists and the vehicle remains unreliable. The manufacturer has not provided a resolution despite multiple attempts, and communication is unsuccessful I am submitting this complaint due to ongoing safety concerns and a lack of resolution.

I was driving my car and the car shut off at 30 mph. It completely stopped and the steering wheel locked up. Started flashing start/stop and told me to put it in park. Glad no one got hurt and hope it doesn’t do it again.

Fuel pump loosing prime it cracks either in housing or hose internal to the tank and it causes it to loose prime. Long Crank Times/No Start And stall and rough idling at stoplights and upon acceleration. Issue was confirmed and reproduced by independent service center.

I own a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk which we purchased new. On Dec 30, 2025 we were driving home and received a service suspension message on the dash. We took it to our mechanic immediately and they diagnosed it and replaced the left front ride sensor. $380.88 In Jan 21,2026 the ride height message was back. They removed and replaced the air pump assembly with a new united. To remove & replace-suspension-rear suspension-ride control compressor, R&R $2,026.31. Feb 26, 2026 Took back to Lithia Dealership . Stability Control light was on and Traction control light are on check on advise. Changed out Module Transfer Case $1,013.33. Upon further research found out other Jeep owners had the same problem with the air suspension system. I feel this should be looked into.

Hesitates to start

Steering is erratic while driving. Car is shifting left and right by itself while driving down the road feeling like the tires want to go different directions from one another. Steering wheel makes noticeable movement on its own left and right while going down a straight smooth road.

Driver's seat belt retractor doesn't retract all of the time. Hangs up & leaves slack. Bought car & wasn't as bad. Didn't talk to dealer until now. Drove car 800 miles & 4 months since purchase. Car has 28k miles. It is driven by a [XX] year old. It is a Jeep GC Summit which is top of the line for Jeep. Both headlights were blown and the dash warning system never alerted that the lights were out. Car is equipped with the headlight monitoring system. She never drives at night so I cannot give you an exact date but we think it has been out since 2024 which is the last Texas inspection it had and passed. Contacted Jeep Wave with concern and was blown off and sent to a VM which was never returned. You have a recall for the Laredo and Overland models but not the Summit. The DRL lights thankfully are bright but you still need headlights. Car has been set to auto for headlights due to her age. I am hoping you give this a serious look. I posted on Facebook and other people are having the same issues with the Summits. You have no headlights and nothing saying they are out. The contact stated that while making a left-hand turn, the wheels on the vehicle failed to follow the trajectory of the movement and failed to function as intended, and moved toward the curb. The vehicle came to a stop when it hit the curb. It was unknown if any warning lights were illuminated. The driver-side and passenger-side air bags did not deploy. The contact exited the vehicle, and upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the front right and rear passenger-side tires were facing inwards. The vehicle was towed to a collision center. The contact was not injured. No police report was filed. The insurance company was notified and deemed the vehicle a total loss. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.

This vehicle has ongoing issues with electrical systems. Any time temperature drops into negative digits the vehicle will drain both batteries to the point the auto is inoperable. Further jump starting the vehicle in a very low battery state is a futile venture. The issue leaves the vehicle and it's occupants stranded in sub-zero conditions.

I am reporting a potential safety-related defect involving my Chrysler vehicle equipped with a V6 Pentastar engine. During a routine oil change a few weeks ago, I was informed by the service provider that my engine oil level was extremely low, despite the oil change being performed earlier than the recommended interval. This was alarming, as the vehicle had not shown any warning lights or obvious leaks. The service provider advised me that Chrysler vehicles with the V6 Pentastar engine have a known issue related to a defective engine seal that can cause excessive oil consumption. I was told that Chrysler is aware of this issue, that it has been the subject of class action lawsuits, but that it has not been formally recalled. I have since submitted my information to a class action settlement related to this issue but have not received any response. Due to the risk of engine damage, sudden failure, or safety hazards while driving, I believe this issue should be formally reviewed and documented by NHTSA. I am submitting this report to help document a potentially widespread defect that may affect vehicle safety and to ensure appropriate action is taken to protect consumers.

35000 miles 4 wheel drive transfer case went bad. Company honored full repairs. I was the second owner of this vehicle.

I was driving north on I64, and a car in front of me suddenly stopped. Cruise control was on, but when i applied the brake, my car did not stopped, and cruise control speed up, before decreasing speed. Instead of turning off, and allowing the car to slow down. I had to swerve, causing to go off on the side of the highway, and held my foot on the brake for almost a mile, along the side of the highway, before the car came to a stop

My jeep started on fire in my garage. I put my items for the day in my jeep then started it the garage door was open. I started it at 0557. I went and got my son dressed brought him to the living room I heard noises from outside in the garage. I opened the door in the house to the garage, and it was full of smoke. There were flames coming from the front of the jeep. I called 911 at 0603. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? UNKOWEN How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The jeep engulfed in flame very quickly. If it wasn't for the quick thinking of my fiancé our home would have been a total loss as well. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, I have a complaint going with the BBB Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Police yes my jeep was bunted to the frame. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, I have had no issues with my jeep.

Constant problems with starter engaging and not starting vehicle. This form only gave me one option for date; This has happened multiple times. This is a defective part, I went to Dick Scott dealership, tech wrote to check car and did not note defective starter; Wanted me to pay $118 to inspect the jeep. In the warranty jargon, it stated if it was a defective part, it would be replaced. I only have 32000 miles on the vehicle.

Transmission failure at 19,481 miles in my 2021Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 V6. The vehicle has not been abused, and the mileage is low for its age. The symptoms—erratic shifting, limp mode, and “Service Transmission” warnings— are consistent with a known defect pattern affecting multiple FCA vehicles using the same transmission.

THE ISSUE IS IN STARTING THE VEHICLE. WHEN I PUSH THE START BUTTON, THE VEHICLE STARTS, BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUES TO TURN WITHOUT STOPPING AND TURNING OVER. Engine died twice on busy freeway and needed to be towed to a shop. Shop verified the fuel pump was working. There is most likely a problem with the fuel pump relay.

On Two seperate occasions, the message telling me to "Shift into P, and then desired gear." appeared while driving. I shifted into P while parked at an intersection both times and the car died. The second time it happened as I was driving away from Rairdon's Jeep in WA. I made it one street after having my ignition system replaced to the tune of $2,600. Was able to turn the car around and get it back to them. They have had my car for almost a month and state there is no error code, so they cannot diagnose.

The vehicle does not start each time you attempt to start it. Randomly, with no specific conditions to replicate, you will start the vehicle and the starter will engage, but the vehicle will not start. The push button start will time out, you attempt to start the vehicle again, and it starts. This, from my research, is a known issue with 2016-2020ish Jeeps, with a fault in the Fuel Pump Relay, with the easiest fix to remote start your vehicle each and ever time you start it. This happens several times per week. I contacted the dealership we purchased the vehicle from, and our local Jeep service department. They were familiar with this issue, acknowledged its a pretty big problem, but because it is not a recall for Jeeps, there is nothing they can do except for me to bring it in and pay for all of the fixes for a known production issue.

Known common problem with 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokees, fuel pump issues. Vehicle fails to start when push button is pressed. After several attempts vehicle will start. These issue happens hundreds of times per year. Vehicle will stall while driving intermittently. Manufacture and NHTSA is well aware if this issue, as it has been documented hundreds and likley thousands of times by dealer ships across the US.

There is a delay in my car starting when I push the start button. When doing some research online to see what the possible issue might be I found that other cars with the same make/model/year had this issue and was apart of a recall for the fuel pump relay.

The high beam lights are not working. Dealer said the shutter door internal to headlamp assemblies are unresponsive. BOTH headlamps went out at the same time. Dealer said they haven't seen any issues before with the high beams.

My 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee will not start / turn over and if it did the car will shut off. This has been happening for the past week or so. I took it to my local Jeep dealership today and they are stating that both the fuel pump and the water pump need to be replaced. They also stated that the fuel pump recall does not apply to my vin. In addition to my fuel pump needing to be replaced, my water pump has failed too. It is severely leaking water. My Jeep is only 4 years old with barely 70,000 mi and is experiencing severe safety issues. I cannot drive it as it could shut down unexpectedly while I am driving thereby posing a major safety risk.

When the cruise control is activated and the set(+) button to accelerate the car continues to accelerate after the button is released. The vehicle will accelerate to 100mph or higher. I have to deactivate the cruise control to get it to stop accelerating. The vehicle is available for inspection. +Unsafe to use cruise control for fear of excessive speed. I have taken to dealer, they say it is not covered under warranty. No other inspections have been performed. There are no warning messages or other symptoms indicating a failure. The problem first appeared when I purchased the vehicle in June of 2024.

The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000.

Additionally, the contact stated that upon releasing the brake pedal, while the vehicle was in drive(D), the vehicle accelerated unintendedly. The contact stated while driving 25-35 MPH and depressing the brake pedal to make a turn, the vehicle failed to decelerate as needed, causing the contact to pass the turn and almost caused a crash. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned around. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the Nissan dealer where it was purchased, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The Chrysler dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 53,354.

I believe it is something with the engine or an electrical component. I was driving and as I was parking my car shut off, was not able to completely park back end of the car is sticking out. I looked up if there were any current recalls using my VIN and nothing appeared. I did my own researching and found that there have been recalls for that model regarding the PTU, Power Steering and Power Loss which is the issue I am experiencing. My car turns off on its own and does not get any type of power. Started having trouble turning on my car over Labor Day weekend was not able to travel due to what I thought was my battery having issues, people were jumping me to be able to start my car. I then had my battery tested at O'Reilly's on 9/3/2025 and when trying to jump start my car they shorted my engine block fuse which I was told after having my car towed to the mechanic and they took a look at it. I replaced my main battery thinking that would solve the issue and it did not and this was before the mechanic looked at it. I then had it towed to a mechanic where they replaced the engine block fuse and I was told that the car was good and running after paying on 9/19/2025. I left the mechanic and came to work where after two hours I tried to start my car and it did not. I called the mechanic and was told it was my auxiliary battery after they came to look at the car and inspect it once again that same day 9/19/2025. I purchased and replaced the auxiliary battery and was able to start and drive the car for 1.6 miles to my brothers apartment from my work before the car turned off on me as I was trying to park. There was an error message on the car at the time when it turned off which read with a caution symbol, "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon" and then turned off.

The air conditioner compressor blew at 58,000 miles. No certified jeep dealership in the area had the equipment necessary to replace it. I went to an autobody shop with that capability who said at that mileage this should not have happened in a well maintained car. It is $3000 to repair. This happened mid summer with high heat temperatures and no cold air. This put me at risk for hyperthermia as well as my dog. Oliverian Auto in Pike NH confirmed the issue. No warnings from the car, just no cold air, only hot air. First happened in July of this year.

Back up camera fading out and dangerous to try and back up with camera messed up.

Electric start is cranking but engine takes up to 10 seconds or longer to turn over. This happens from cold start and even the stop start when in drive at a stop sign or stop light. It is either an issue with fuel injection/fuel pump or something else as it is not a battery issue just replaced them to be sure or a starter issue.

Jeep's engine turned off while driving, was able to coast and use the brakes to come to a full stop. The engine turned off while driving in a tunnel in the mountains; it was very unsafe. There was no shoulder to pull off to, no extra space to walk around the car, with only 1 other lane available for all the backed-up traffic behind me; CDOT had to tow me out of the tunnel, where I then had to wait on the side of the highway for AAA. There were no warning signs, lights or messages prior to the failure. Had to be towed to the Jeep dealership, where the fuel pump was replaced. There have been recalls on this part for other Jeeps, but my VIN did not show that this was a recall for this specific yr /model.

When starting car, the push to start feature will not turn over and continuously cranks multiple times. The entire fuse box was replaced because the dealer told me that was the issue. The car is a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Numerous people online said they were forced to replace the fuel pump? Although Faulkner Buick in Trevose told me that there’s nothing wrong with my fuel pump. I can’t keep getting charged for repairs that are not necessary. The fuel pump and then in turn, the auxiliary pump failed. The car would keep turning over a lot before it started. The engine would stop in the middle of travel. This put us in risk as we travelled down the freeway. We took it to the dealership for inspection, and they found a defective fuel pump. There were no warning lights, messages when this occurred.

The vehicle also intermittently failed to start immediately and made a clicking sound. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the ABS had failed, and that the drive train control module and transfer case control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.

I went to put the car in park from driving and the car began jumping. The air conditioning fan stopped working inside the cabin. The air conditioning is not working in full speed and is not blowing hot out cool air.

Was pulling into a parking spot on the 2nd level of parking garage and the Jeep accelerated and hit the cement wall at front of garage space. It accelerated on its own. The front of the jeep was crushed, and I ended up with a fractured sternum and a seat belt hernia which I will have surgery in the next couple of weeks. The airbags did not deploy. And I did not press on the gas pulling into the parking spot --- it just accelerated on its own. When I first got in the car the system showed that systems disabled, but the then the message went away. When I pressed seat one, it did not go in place and I had to adjust it on my own. I continued on to my dermitologist appointment , pulled into the the parking space and the instant brake when too close did not break and the air bags did not deploy. Thru me into the cement wall, and the whole front of the car was demolished, Not epairable.

The leather of the dash that covers the airbag area has become unglued completely and is wrinkled all across the dash, and I am concerned the safety crash features will not work correctly now with premature failure of the adhesives that hold such a large area on the dash.

On May 17, 2025, my vehicle suddenly shut down in heavy traffic on a major NYC highway (no shoulder), creating a hazardous situation. There was no warning or alert before the engine shut off completely. I was unable to restart the car, and the gear shifter was locked. The brake pedal also became unresponsive temporarily. After some time, the brake unlocked, but the ignition remained inactive and the vehicle was immobilized. The car had to be removed by emergency tow and later diagnosed by a Jeep dealer. The root cause was determined to be failure of the fuel pump(s). Additionally, a blown fuse in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) was discovered. The dealer replaced both fuel pumps under warranty. Jeep has refused to acknowledge this as a safety issue or reimburse emergency expenses despite full documentation. This is a serious safety issue, especially since: There was no prior warning Vehicle failure occurred in heavy traffic Driver was stranded in a live lane The issue appears related to core electrical/fuel systems I have identified over 20 similar complaints from Jeep owners of their cars also shutting down in traffic, often without warning. These have been shared on owner forums and consumer boards. I believe this indicates there is a wider pattern that may indicate a safety defect.

The car keeps dying while I’m driving and saying “shift to park” and then slamming on the brakes and dying. The card is 4 years old with 44k miles. I had to sit on the side of the road in 93 degree heat in Florida while pregnant and waiting on a tow truck. How has someone not died because of this? I’ve seen SEVERAL posts of people saying the same thing happened to theirs. It’s SO unsafe.

Vehicle will randomly shut off with "Shift to P" message on dash. No warning lights or errors found very unsafe to drive.

Vehicle shifts from park to drive jumping gears ,making loud noises, Accelerating by its self and jumps aggressively into gear. Transmission is slipping, late engagement when shifting, and shifting rough. sometimes it will low rpm. Rpm is going up and down. Making total transmission failure and transfer case failure. Melting the hot and cold lines. Mechanic found aluminum melted and oil burn. Rpms fluctuate and gets hung up during shifting while driving.

The vehicle (2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee) was on the road for about 90 minutes when the engine shut off for no reason at 65 mph in noon rush hour traffic. We were in the left lane and had to coast through 2 lanes of traffic and an exit approach while trying to avoid a deadly crash with high-speed traffic. There were no warning lights or alarms on in the car. The only message was that we needed to put the car in park to restart. We finally came to stop and waited a minute and restarted the engine and were able to make it home. I called the dealer, and the next appointment was 3 weeks out. I tried driving during a rainy day before the dealer appointment and the vehicle shut off 3 times in 3 blocks, so I returned home and waited for the appointment date. As of today, the dealer says there are no codes and in 2 test rides the car is running just fine. This is a huge safety issue and I hope that we can get help before anything happens again.

Service shifter message keeps showing every-time I turn on the vehicle. Eventually it just stays on. Took vehicle in for service and when dealer was installing new shifter, it shorted out other components. Jeep still hasn’t found a permanent fix.

Vehicle code: C1562-98 AIR PUMP CONTROL - air suspension compressor is overheating or there's a problem with the control system, leading to issues with adjusting the vehicle's height. With further inspection he found a leak in the air bag fittings. Vehicle Power Control Module has caused vehicle to shutoff while driving on the highway. Air suspension and electrical issues continued after 60 days of attempted repairs.

Once you start driving after letting the vehicle sit the transmission will “slip” multiple times jerking the car and everyone in it. Occurs every day around 4 pm and various times

Since it was brand new it likes to shift hard into reverse or drive from park. Sometimes it shifts with NOTHING going on like it should Other times there is subtle thump into gear other times it's a harder thumb into gear. There is 2 or 3 levels of hard shift into gear. Valve body and Output shift kit have already been replaced and it's STILL happening

I was driving down the highway and all of the sudden and with zero warning the engine cut off but the effect it had on the car was very severe engine braking as it automatically downshifted very aggressively which caused me to go from about 80mph to a stop VERY quickly. The dash looked as if I simply had the car switched to on without starting the engine. There were no warning lights lit. Shifting into park and turning the car completely off and back on allowed it to start again with no further symptoms.

I bought the Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited in 2021. Since I bought it I have had one problem after another with this SUV. This is the list of repairs on my car since 2021... and Jeep has done nothing to compensate for my troubles. I feel like I got a lemon of a car and I would never purchase another jeep again. We have maintained the car and have records of all oil changes and tire rotation and all necessary maintance that should have been done on the car. July 31 2024... evaporator core fixed car leaking all over AC fixed... jeep couldn't find problem then finally did. Oct. 4 2024.. new radiator... car leaking all over... once again hard time finding problem March 26, 2024... two new batteries installed car hard time starting... was not problem cause March 27, 2024.. same problem brought back and now I need a fuel pump ( car had burning smell and I was driving it because they could not diagnose the problem )and because they made we wait a week to get it checked out they said there could be more damage to car not sure. Fuel pump should last 100,000 miles.. my car has 68, 000.00 In the three and half years with this car I have had one safety problem after another and I am upset I travel to help my elderly parents on Long Island and each time I am afraid something is going to go wrong with this car. I am so very upset on how the performance of a three year old car is running. I feel people need to know that Jeep is not a reliable brand of car. Yesterday, with the temperature at 70°F in Michigan, I attempted to turn on my air conditioning and realized it was no longer working. The system was only pushing out hot air and never cooled. I immediately took my vehicle to the dealership for a diagnosis. Thankfully, I had started an extended warranty in January, because I was shocked to learn that the repair would cost around $2,500 to replace the evaporator, which had completely failed. Upon researching, I found that an evaporator should typically last between 8 to 10 years. I have owned my vehicle since January 2021, and with only 36,117 miles, I find it unacceptable that this critical component has already failed. I take excellent care of my vehicle and stay on top of all maintenance, so there is no reason this part should be failing this soon. What’s even more concerning is that when I spoke with the service advisor, they mentioned that the part was on backorder because many people with my same year, make, and model are experiencing the same exact issue. If this is a widespread problem, it raises serious concerns about the quality and longevity of this component. A $2,500 repair for something that should last much longer is unreasonable. I am submitting this report to document the issue and to bring awareness to what seems to be a common failure with this vehicle. Thank you,

Rear windshield randomly exploded. Defroster was NOT on, no rapid change in temps, nothing on the road, nor people around. I’d been driving 2-3 hours already on this morning it occurred. Temps were around 30-40f

I was driving on [XXX] in November 2023 in Georgia when my sunroof (front panel, the part that opens) spontaneously exploded. No rock or debris hit us to cause this. The interior fabric sunroof cover was closed so the popcorn glass was contained. If the cover had not been closed, the glass would have rained down on me and my front seat passenger. I pulled over at the next exit and was able to temporarily seal the giant hole in the sunroof from the elements. Eventually a body shop was able to remove and replace the broken glass. Buckle no longer works to buckle seat belt

I drove my car out of my garage on the way to work and just outside my house, the transmission bucked when shifting from 3rd to 4th gear and the p0733 code appeared. I turned around and went home and took another car to work. I had previously taken my jeep with ~85,000 miles to my local dealer wanting the 4 wheel drive and transmission service as I do with all of my cars. It was driving fine, but seemed like the gas mileage was decreasing a bit which I shrugged off. The dealer informed me that the transmission wasn't serviceable. I thought this was odd, but they did the 4 wheel drive service and said everything was good. When I got the error code, I called my local independent transmission shop who said they could look at it in 2 days, so I didin't drive it until the ~10 minute drive to drop it off. They called the next day and said the transmission was done- burnt fluid and bits of clutch in the fluid. They couldn't even find a rebuilt trasmission because according to them so many are failing. They quoted me $8700 for a new transmission from Jeep which I begrudgingly agreed to because what else could I do? I've had one car's transmission fail (Jeep Wrangler but it had 220,000 miles and was 15 years old so I could accept it. The shop received the new transmission from Jeep and then called me saying the valve body was bad, it would not communicate with the car. They went through warranty struggles with Jeep who after another week finally sent another valve body, which also did not work. Finally, they figured out they were sending unprogrammed valve bodies with the transmission and the car needed to be towed to the dealer to program...more $$$. So, after a3+ weeks I finally got my car back today. I've looked online and wondered what I could have done- there are so many similar examples out there of similar experiences, Wrangler transmissions failing with low miles; it's unforgivable that Jeep says the transmission can't be serviced!

On Feb 5, 2025, vehicle was started with remote start (in garage with garage door open). Within a few minutes, the entire cabin was engulfed in flames. No warnings, no prior vehicle issues, no recalls. Fire department was called and got fire out. Cause unknown, but appears to have been related to electrical. No or minimal damage under hood. Insurance now has possession of vehicle. Unsure of inspection but they did gather photos and declare a total loss. This could have happened while I was driving, injuring me, my family and others. When the lights are set on Auto mode the high beams feature will not work. You push the steering column cluster switch forward to turn on high beams and it kicks it back immediately and will not turn on high beams. This is a huge safety issue. We've had to drive through wooded areas at night with elk and deer on the roads and almost been hit. Jeep needs to recall this and modify to allow high beam while using the Auto headlight setting.

Software update was pushed on or around 11/22/2024. After update front collision system warning light on dash. Doors fail to auto lock when driving off. Options to toggle front pedestrian breaking now missing that would turn off the light. Car is sputtering when turning on

Passenger seat lumbar inflated out and won't go back down. It has also popped off the back plastic on the seat. This is a known issue as we have found multiple incidents online. It is causing discomfort and pain when sitting. No inspections yet as we fear it could cost thousands to fix with less than 50k miles on the vehicle.

High beams will not activate while car is in "Auto Headlamp" mode. If you toggle the high beam stalk nothing happens. I have to physically hold the high beam stalk down for the lamps to work while in "auto" mode. If I want to use the high beams without holding the stalk down I have to switch the Headlamps to the "on" position using the headlamp control switch. Using my hand to hold down the stalk in order to access my high beams is a huge safety hazard requiring me to have only one hand on the steering wheel. Switching the headlamp mode to auto to access my high beams is more hazardous as I have to take my eyes off the road to find the control switch. There is no "automatic high beam" mode available through my vehicles on board options. This has been an issue since I purchased the vehicle new. Unfortunately weighing my options I an unable to use the high beams because it is too much of a hassle to do so. I thought this issue was recalled but after speaking with Jeep and my dealership I was told otherwise.

on mopar recall service done shows it had been serviced and bunch of lies i have never taken my 2021 jeep to get serviced for power steering issue. barely came out 1 week ago and crazy service man at BOGGUS TIPTON JEEP in Brownsville texas named Josh, white male wanted to charge 4500 dollars to repair knowing supposibly there was an issue recall and i declined so wanted to charge me 2500 after i declined. he was more than likely gonna charge chrysler and me both ways to make the dealership double the money for a bull**** fix. my jeep has never been in service for the power steering recall. after readings previous comments i think chrysler is lying that the fixed and issue on many customers of recalls. [please check your vin and put a complaint and call chrysler like i am tomorrow and will get an attorney involved for a false fix and claim

I was sitting inside my home when all of the sudden I heard a loud boom, walked outside and saw my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee on fire. The fire started in the front and moved to the back of the vehicle. The engine had been off for about 2 hours and vehicle was sitting in the driveway. My son's car seat, stroller and many other belongings were ruined in the fire. A police report was not filed, but a fire report was.

The auto stop/start system,shuts down the engine when waiting to pull out onto a busy street.it has a shut down switch,but it gets rest everything the ignition is turned on.there is no way to perfectly shut off.

Vehicle has a known issue where all of the sudden the entertainment system volume will drive to 100% volume with no ability to turn it down, only off. Turning it off renders the navigation and communication screens and some other functionality inoperable. The sound is something that happens with no warning and in some instances could cause a driver to brake hard, accelerate, swerve, etc. or simply lose concentration while driving when trying to figure out how to turn down/off the extensive volume that is not only alarming, but deafening. Manufacturer and dealerships are aware of the problem and in many cases are charging to repairs this even though the fix in most cases is a simple software update! This is dangerous and should be investigated for a possible recall or at least offered as a no cost repair.

At thirty thousand miles, I had to have driver sign motor mount replacement, then at forty one thousand one hundred and fifty two miles and to have the passenger side replaced. According to the dealership, this is a very common problem. Liquid from the motor mountains.Do you have to all the way to the laundry on both sides. If I wouldn't have noticed it. As you can relate the motor mounts, it caused the engine to torque because accidents.

For my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Antilock braking system, Hydraulic control unit has failed. It is currently being repaired by the dealership, and I will request the old part so that it is available for inspection. The failure of the ABS control unit, disabled the electronic stability control, the forward collision warning system and the cruise control - and the issue appears to be directly equivalent to the current Stellantis recall for Ram 1500's of a similar year. The dealer was able to reproduce the error - and was inspected at a Jeep dealership.

Vehicle quit running while driving was going about 5 miles an hour just shut down tried to restart cranks but will not start no safety issues We had to call a tow truck and have vehicle towed to dealer has about 24,000 miles on it. Valley motor city Jeep in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, 330-937-9481 where the vehicle is being repaired called me Friday 9/6/24 and said they ordered a fuel pump I talked to Christy, the service writer she said parts will be in next week. does Chrysler have any recalls on this?

I have a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4 with less than 30,000 miles on it. The leather dash is currently peeling away and bubbling. There was a recall back in 2014 by Chrysler, but they have ever since taken away the recall because they "claimed" they have fixed the problem. I will attach pictures of my vehicle and other similar Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland's that I have found in the market. Looking to get this situated but my local Jeep dealer said this would be a out of pocket cost and not covered by the manufacturer.

Service power steering, blind spot alert temporarily unavailable, seatbelts not buckled came on and started beeeping, start/stop not ready, and service electronic stability control all turned on at once. I pulled over to the side of the road to try to restart the vehicle and I lost my power steering.

Panoramic sunroof exploded and showered glass all over myself and my family. We were driving on the highway and it did not appear that anything hit the sunroof, it just exploded right from the center.

Recalled Rear Coils, over 2-3 months ago, Taken to Jeep Dealership in Morgantown Wv, Taken for front ball joint knuckle pin coming lose, Causing the upper ball joint to start to make noise, unable to control steering when raining or going over bump video was send to mopar when claim and complaint at the time, Prior two weeks before also called and report it, someone canceled my call, and said they had no remedy at that time. Was told they had no remedy for recall at that time. Morgantown jeep then proceeded to fix the rear suspension coil recall. Never notified me the part that was recalled was in fact broken when it was removed. Instead replaced it then told me my rear suspension, Structs, and say bar links are broken on both sides of my rear end which mechanically is attached to these coils which is the resulting damages of driving the vehicle for 40,000 miles with improper installed coils. I report this to Mopar when giving them the car, the rear end always bounced. I went through my first set of tires in less than 18,000 miles due to this. My Case managers name was mary, She was very Rude. Called me a liar more than once. They would not even call me to come pick my car up. When talking to the Customer service guy at jeep in morganttown. He said mary said fix only the parts and only what the exact recalled said. and they would not evaluate or do anything for my Front control arm and pinch bolt, they tighted it, I even submitted photos where they just tightened it submitted to mopar. Also asked for submission of buy back program due to value dropping more than 10,000 dollars in 3 weeks time, Attempted trade off for 38,000- owed 42,000 in Octor 2022. Nov price dropped to 32,000 trade in. Value now for trade in due to severity of mechanical issues is now down to less than 28,000, I said 55,000 dollars for this car. I have a 2.5% interest rate and did not carry over anything over MSRP on this Vehicle. I am unable to trade it. And the vehicle is barely drivable.

Multimedia screen blacked out, the touchscreen itself works but the screen is black (or blank) we took this to the dealership and they informed us they are not sure how to fix the issue other than replace the whole screen, we had taken the vehicle to the dealership prior stating the screen would cut out or black out. The dealership found nothing wrong. Finally when the screen completely blacked out the vehicle was out of warranty by 1,000 miles and would not be covered under the warranty. We do not have the finances to pay for the replacement. The multimedia touchscreen is the hub of the entire car, we are unable to view anything behind us when backing up the car in reverse as the rear view camera is tied to the screen. This poses a risk of injuring children when backing up. We are also unable to control multiple settings within the vehicle as well as able to view any warning lights that may pop up. The dealer has stated they are aware of similar issues with the same make/model. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership. The only warning we have had is the screen blacking out and reseting while driving and the screen blacking out for extended periods of time before resoring.

I have a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has 8506 miles on it, I am the original owner. 7 months ago I was in the neighborhood, and it started hesitating, and the engine stopped, no warning lights nothing, after waiting I started it back up and drove home, and it has been fine until last Saturday. Saturday we were at a busy red light in the turn lane, light turned green I turned, car shut off no warning lights nothing. I was stuck in the middle of traffic and could not move the car. The jeep was towed to the shop, premature fuel pump failure. My problem with this is it could have gotten me killed or my children. Two weeks outside the warranty and I am out an extra 2000.00, because unless your car is dead, or it is a recall the jeep dealership always sends the car back saying they can not find anything wrong, extremely dangerous situation to be put in, I am just grateful I was not on the highway when it happened the second time.

My low beam headlight has blown for the second time now since owning the car. THIS IS NOT NORMAL!!! There clearly must be some electrical issue and I’m past the warranty. Headlights don’t blow like that. I’ve owned cars for over 6 years and never had a headlight blow.

Manufacturer's full size tire as made by Nexen was defect from the factory and is unsafe to use. However neither the Jeep Dealer nor the Tire manufacturer will make good on a replacement. The Full Size Spare has never been used and has over 7 parallel gouges on the inner sidewall. It came like that from the dealer. No one wants to make it good. Because of their nature the gouge marks look to be made by heavy machinery like in a tire factory with conveyor belts.

Frequently all lights go on while driving check engine goes on here and there on the highway. Loud noise when you start the car and continues for about 2 min after the car is turned off as well.. All lights went on and was unable To move the vehicle in the middle of a street. I have taken the vehicle in several times to 2 different dealers and I am told there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s a danger to my family and I for the car to continue to do these things as the car is unable to be moved..

The electronic stability control has malfunctioned and the 4wd svc light has comeon. The vehicle shifts hard when taking off at low speed. When coming to a stop there is a loud pop from transfer case. Also the 4wd low and neutral comes on by themselves. This vehicle definitely has safety issues. I just bought this vehicle and just barely have 1000 miles on it. How is thus safe? The hard shifting started around 6/1/2024 the electronic stability, svc 4wd, going into 4wd low and neutral all started on 6/23/24

Vehicle shuts down puts itself in park and applies the parking brake and states that the hood is not closed when it is and has not been opened. It also disable the auto stop/start . It does this at traffic lights or when ever a vehicle comes to a stop creating a potential rear end collision due to having to manually restart the vehicle, disengage the parking brake and put the vehicle in drive.

Driving down an interstate at 70 mph, suddenly the car hesitated a couple of times and the engine stopped. I coasted to the side of the road. No warning lights. I am now sitting on the side of an interstate with 18 wheelers flying by and I am miles away from a town. Two and a half hours later we were towed to a jeep dealer. They performed a diagnostic with results being failure of fuel pump and wiring (intelligent power ipac). Dealership made repairs. I feel our safety was at risk because there was 1. No warning/ 2. Possibility of being unable to get off the road in this situation/ 3. Sitting on a busy interstate, waiting for help. In checking online I found more people complaining about the same thing happening to them, so I feel this is not an isolated incident.

Per the Jeep Dealership that currently has my car, they said the Drivers side seatbelt failed, the buckle will not lock. The male part will not go into the female part. There is no foreign object in the female part of the seat belt. My safety is put at risk every moment I'm in the car without a seatbelt on along with it being against the law to not have your seatbelt on. There is no warning lights that came on as the computer thinks the seatbelt is actually clicked in because its broken. A seatbelt should never fail especially on a 3 year old vehicle, however my extended warranty won't cover the "safety restraint system" and Jeep doesn't feel that they should have to replace it either.

I was driving approximately 55 MPH on the highway when my vehicle suddenly lost all acceleration. I received an alert on the dash and a chime - the alert stated "Shift to P to Start" - with no other warnings and no CEL or Check Engine light. Pressing the gas, even to the floor, did nothing. I was forced to brake the car to a stop on the shoulder, shut off the engine, and restart the vehicle. Afterwards, I experienced some slight hesitation which resolved, and then was able to drive the rest of the trip without issues. Having the vehicle lose all power on the highway without warning is a serious safety issue.

The sunroof glass above the driver/front passenger seats suddenly exploded/shattered while driving on a highway at about 55 mph, for no apparent reason. The sunroof was closed at the time, same as the sun shade underneath it and it was not operated either.

On [XXX], at approximately 9:30AM, I was driving my daughter’s 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L (VIN: [XXX]) to my home to detail it for her. After turning onto [XXX] from [XXX], Spring Branch, TX, the digital screens in front of the driver and in the center console turned off and went blank. Approximately 3-5 seconds later, the screens turned on, but then they went blank again after about 5 seconds. At this time, the engine felt as though it was stumbling as though it was running out of fuel. I then began to smell what smelled like melting plastic and then I saw dark colored smoke beginning to come out from under the center console on the right side of the vehicle. I slowed down and looked for a safe place to pull the car off of the road. The entire scenario appeared to have lasted 1-2 minutes, but I really don’t know exactly how long it was before I was able to exit the vehicle. In order to see where I was going, I rolled down the front windows and as soon as I did so, I saw flames appearing from underneath the center console on the right side of the vehicle. I was able to stop the vehicle on the right shoulder of the road and then I placed the vehicle in park and I exited the vehicle. I moved away from the vehicle and called 9-1-1. [XXX] just south of Grapevine, CA, is a 4-lane freeway, speed limit 70 mph. It is quite steep, perhaps 4 or 5 %. It is very heavily traveled, and is used by a large number of 18-wheelers. It has a slow lane on the far right, for trucks and cars pulling trailers. I was in the #1 lane, traveling at 70 mph. About 5 miles south of Grapevine, CA, the car completely lost control of the steering. I came within inches of impacting the guard rail, and hitting a large tractor-trailer. By braking gently, and making greatly exaggerated steering inputs, I was able to maneuver to the slow lane, and, driving at less than 15 mph, was able to get to a truck stop parking lot, where the car was towed to a Jeep dealer. This is the third catastrophic safety failure this car has suffered. The first was explosion of the front transfer case, scattering transmission parts all over the road, the second was the failure of the left front axle boot. which spread grease onto the brake disc. Fortunately, both of these problems occurred at very low speed, so accidents were avoided. This last failure almost killed me, my wife, and my little dog. While driving on the highway Friday [XXX] in the middle lane the whole vehicle just shut down and locked up. Speed roughly about 20-30 mph in rush-hour traffic. No warning lights at all. Full tank of gas. Zero power to anything. Wheels locked up completely. Shifter nonresponsive to try Neutral. No hazard lights. No brake lights. No way of giving other vehicles a warning. Could not open doors or windows. 911 was called to the scene and I was very thankful not to have been seriously injured or lose my life during this whole situation. I was transferred into the fire truck as to get out of traffic. Fire department had to google where to find locking mechanism for the wheels in order to push it over to the right lane. I was driving my usual route home from work during rush hour on [XXX] in Seattle, Wa when my sunroof glass exploded on my 2021 Grand Jeep Cherokee. My first thought was that a tire had blown, it was so loud! Experiencing no loss of control, I quickly realized that the sound was my sunroof glass disintegrating when I heard glass shards rattling overhead. Thankfully my sliding visor was closed as I usually have this open. Of course had it been open I would have had glass shower down on me causing an accident and possibly seriously damaging my vision! I got home safely where I called my car insurance to report what happened. I asked if they wanted me to send photos of the exploded sunroof glass they told me there was no need since it should be a simple fix. Well it has not been so. Insurance sent me to a local collision shop a few days later which turned me away since there was no collision. I called several glass places after this myself and was told by each one they don't deal with replacing sunroof glass. I contacted a Jeep dealership told them my situation, what had happened. The dealership scheduled for me to come in 30 plus days for an inspection since that was first availability. I called several dealerships to try to get seen earlier they were all a month out give or take for appointments. Given the suddenness of the explosion and the apparent absence of any external cause, it seems to me that it was caused by a manufacturing flaw, or design defect, in the glass or its frame. Although I am a longtime owner and fan of Jeep vehicles I find that this was unacceptable since this is obviously a potential safety issue, as well as a major inconvenience. I also feel Jeep should cover the expense on this! I owned a Jeep Compass prior to my Grand Cherokee that had a sunroof and never had an issue. I don't want this to happen to others and this goes for anyone who has a sunroof that this could happen without any warning. One day I smelled something burning after driving. I didn't see anything the first time but i kept smelling the burning smell and noticed a few days later oil dripping from underneath the car. Oil made its way ALL under the car, it traveled on various parts and created an oil coating. I made an appt to the Jeep dealership (Keffer jeep in Charlotte, NC) and they said the oil cooler failed. There were no obvious signs other than a slow leak from under the car, no warning lights, no change in performance. However had I not noticed coolant could have mixe in with oil and ruined the engine. Less than 32,000 miles on the car when it occured.

There is an open recall and a remedy was released about 2 weeks ago. I have attempted to get this fixed but the dealership stated the manufacturer will only allow each dealership to order two parts at a time. There is an extensive waitlist resulting in the issue to continue without fixing it in a timely manner and continuing to put mine and my family’s lives at risk as well as other motorists.

Seat started moving to the 1st saved memory position while driving. This happened over and over and over until I got home. Now the seat memory for the 1st position has stopped working and number 2 is what the 1st use to be.

I was notified that my vehicle is involved in a recall for Potential Steering Knuckle separation. I proceeded to contact Jeep (both dealer and Recall department) to know what is going to be done about this. I proceeded to inform the agent that I was concerned with my safety regarding this recall, and was told by the agent that at the moment they have no means to repair the problem, they cannot provide me a solution in regards to a safer car, and if the car had issues related to this recall that I would just have to deal with it. The company denied providing me a lease or rented car in the mean time, denied me any timeline for a solution and disregarded my safety concerns regarding this risk. I am and my family is at risk of serious injury/death in the event that the wheel can fall outward while driving as a loss of “clamp load” defects.

It has been observed that the antifreeze and oil are intermixing in the antifreeze reservoir, causing the check engine light to illuminate and the system to register a code of PC304. This particular code is indicative of a cylinder misfire, which can cause the car to stop functioning properly and eventually lead to potential engine damage. To resolve this issue, it is imperative to replace the oil cooler filter adapter and flush the engine. This will ensure that the antifreeze and oil are no longer mixing and the engine is functioning efficiently. Therefore, it is highly recommended to take immediate action and get the necessary repairs done to avoid any further damage to the engine.

When calling the dealership to schedule the fix they said they don’t have one and don’t know when one will be available they haven’t been given that information. In the meantime am I just supposed to drive a Jeep that could crash at any given time.

Passenger seatbelt does not retract nor does it have tension. If in a wreck it would not function properly.

I went to turn on my Jeep Grand Cherokee L and received a "service power steering error message". I turned off the car, and when I went to turn it back on the reverse detection warning went off, the odometer consistently blinked and the service engine light came on. I was unable to reverse the car or drive the car forward and required it to be towed. I had two small kids in the car without power steering so significantly at risk. The vehicle is enroute to the local Jeep dealer and there were no warning signs or issues with the car prior.

The problem was related to Fuel pump malfunction, gas leaking. I was advice by a mechanic not to drive the car if there was a fuel leak. A jeep dealer replaced the fuel pump for a coast, since it was out of warranty 41,600 miles on it, but it is much less than the expected life for that part. I was driving on a Highway and suddenly the car started to stumbling and stopped, no lights or warnings, or messages were on.

Sun roof glass shattered while driving down the highway.

On [XXX], while traveling on an interstate highway, I heard what sounded like a metal hitting metal coming from my left front tire. After parking my car I noticed what appeared to be the left front Sway Bar Link had become disconnected. (I have attached pictures to this report). On Wednesday [XXX], The car was taken to a Jeep Dealership for Repairs (Sansone Auto Mall 90-100 Route 1 Avenel NJ 07001) where they replaced the front Sway Bar Link. The purpose of the Sway Bar is so the vehicle can maintain stability and control when operating/steering the car. Specifically if you have to make quick turns or evasive steering to avoid dangers in the road. My vehicle only has 19,000 miles and this part should not have failed as it did. At the time of the malfunction I was traveling on an interstate highway and fortunately was able to safely operate my car. There were no warning lamps or alerts prior to this incident. My safety was put at risk as I was on a major interstate and had I needed to make a quick lane change or avoid a sudden danger this failed part could have caused me to lose control of the car. The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power before stalling and shutting off. During the failure, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The messages "Service Shifter" and "Transmission Temperature High" were displayed. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer and was reprogrammed; however, after retrieving the vehicle, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 36,899.

Upon parking my car in my driveway (which has a slight slope), I put it in park and turned it off. I then opened my door and got out. Before I could close the door my car began to roll backwards and I had to jump back in the car to stop it very quickly. The door was open and got caught on the cement wall that lines my driveway as it rolled back. There is damage to the door and it will likely need to be completely replaced. The next morning I had my friend come over to follow me to a body shop to assess the damage. I reversed my car to the end of my driveway and got out to close the garage door. The same thing happened again right when I stepped out of the car, and I again had to jump back in very quickly to stop it from rolling into the street. I then had it towed to the nearest dealer (on 1/15), where they replaced the vacuum pump because the service stability control light was on. They claim to have tested it on a slope and could not replicate the problem. They checked it out and could not find anything wrong with the transmission either. I got my car back on 1/22 (with the door still needing to be fixed) and this happened again on 1/23. I pulled into my driveway, put it in park, and my car immediately rolled back. I then put my 4-wheel drive on and the parking brake and parked it. It was not rolling so I went inside. I looked at it before bed and it was in the same spot. The next morning I go out to my car and it has rolled backwards down my driveway. Luckily, it did not go into the street. I could have easily been injured on multiple occasions, as well as other people or cars if they were around. The next time I might not get so lucky.

I started my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the automatic start on November 2, 2023 and 5 minutes later it was in flames. Chrysler has an inspection done but will not tell me the cause. It is a total loss. Chrysler will not give my insurance company the letter of guarantee to complete the claim.

Radio not turning on at all

I was driving on a road when the car suddenly accelerated for no apparent reason. I hit the brake and nothing happened. When the car accelerated, it was like when you hit resume when you have cruise control on. I did not have cruise control on. To avoid hitting a vehicle in front of me, I went off the road to the right, hit a chain link fence and stopped in a field. The car was declared a total loss by the insurance company. Earlier that day, the car was giving me a warning to brake, when I was not near another vehicle. On other occasions before this, the car would tell me to put my hands on the steering wheel when I was gripping the steering wheel.

As I was driving vehicle steering got really hard and all lights come up on the dash, pulled over and turn engine off wait for a while and turned back on, problem didn't solve, I contacted the Dealer before and they say there is no recall for these issue on these vehicle, it is very Danger and scary to be driving and not knowing if is safe or not.

In 2022 I attempted to back into a parallel parking space and the emergency braking system kept activating to prevent backing up. Attempted getting corrected at dealer but no trouble codes available. Was driving, slowing down to stop at about 22mph, emergency braking system kicked in, shifted into auto stick, switched back reactivated normal drive. Six months later, was at a stop sign, on green light, turned left from left lane, accelerating to approximately 25mph, suddenly emergency braking activated again, again had to use auto stick to kick out of emergency braking. Dealer Response: I have sought assistance from the dealership for this issue. However, their response has been inadequate. The dealership attempted a system reset, which proved ineffective in resolving the problem. The malfunction persists despite their intervention. 4. Confirmation by Dealer/Service Center: The dealer confirmed the issue but failed to rectify it. Their inability to address the problem raises concerns about the effectiveness of the current troubleshooting methods employed by Jeep service centers. 5. Third-Party Inspection: As of now, the vehicle or the malfunctioning component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. 6. Warning Signs: Prior to the complete failure, warning signs were evident. The Android Auto disconnection issue was preceded by intermittent connectivity problems, displaying error messages and disruptions in the infotainment system. These warning signs were reported to the dealership. I am open to providing any additional information or cooperating in any further investigation deemed necessary.

Started noticing hard reverse shift when vehicle was cold. Took to the dealership, tech could not find any issues other than it shifted hard in reverse. Tech found no leaks, performed PCM reflash. Still no problems found. Tech did not check transmission fluid level on vehicle. Must be checked at the dealership. Tech recommended replacing transmission even though could not find any issues. A few days later while driving at highway speed the vehicle suddenly downshifted to 3rd gear nearly causing me to loose control. Vehicle would not shift into fourth gear. Had to limp vehicle home.

I was traveling on a road with light snow. There was a bend in the road. I lost steering and manual breaking causing the vehicle to strike a telephone pole head on. My air bags did not deploy.

Chrysler (corporate = Stellantis) is refusing to accept manufacturing responsibility for the extensive damage to my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L (16,000 miles – with completely timely and up-to-date maintenance) when the steering components literally FELL APART while navigating out of my paved driveway at under 5mph with NO collision, provocation or explanation on September 2, 2023, rendering the vehicle undriveable. There was an ‘unofficial’ recall on the components. It should still be under warranty but, although none of the automotive professionals can come up with a reason why this happened, Stellantis Corporation is refusing to take any responsibility (or even communicate with anyone – other than to send generic emails saying ‘no’, with no viable explanation). NOTE: This vehicle was purchased new from Stateline Jeep/Chrysler in Fort Mills, SC. RECALL: [XXX] Many thousands of $$ in repair costs (IF, in fact, it can even be repaired – as the required parts have been on national backorder for all of these months.) and many thousands of $$ in rental car costs (vehicle has been at the dealership for 3+ months). Vehicle died suddenly in traffic 2 times. Was able to restart after a short while. Was a serious safety issue as I was at highway speed 1 of the 2 times. Vehicle is now at an independent garage. 40k miles. Not under warranty. Has not been inspected or diagnosed yet. No warning lights or codes showing.

My vehicle has 22,000 miles on it. The dealer has determined that they are at 4/32 and are wearing prematurely. He also indicated that Jeep (Nielsen Jeep) is aware of this and it is simply unfortunate that all four (4) tires (Michelin Premier LTX, 265/60R18) on my vehicle wore evenly and prematurely. As I indicated to the dealership servicing my vehicle, the tires do not grip in inclement weather and often result in skids, a safety issue especially when my two 12yr olds are in the vehicle with me. Tire warranted at 55,000 miles should not wear prematurely and thus making it unsafe to operate the vehicle.

Driveshaft became loose while driving

Vehicle lost power and stalled on major highway during rush hour traffic. Would not restart. Due to the amount of traffic and sudden deceleration, vehicle was impaired on a major throughway. No warning lamps appeared and all sensors were within normal range prior to incident. Vehicle was towed to Jeep dealership and confirmed the problem was a defective fuel pump. Simply not acceptable for a relatively new, well-maintained vehicle with only 25,000 miles. Incident could have caused serious bodily harm given the abrupt loss of power and major highway on which the incident occurred.

The vehicle turned off once while driving and the check transmission light comes on periodically. l took it in for service, however, the dealer was not able to find the problem. Since leaving the repair shop the check transmission indicator comes on while driving and turning.

Paddle shifters are disabled with no way to enable them. While towing, there is no way to reduce downhill speed maximizing the use of the power train while minimizing the use of the brake system causing the brakes to overheat and a potential crash incident.

Steering assist stopped working and EPS fault warning light, front crash collision detection fault, and front crash collision detect turned off, and traction control indicators appeared. After 3 cycles of the ignition and driving for 10 minutes to a safe location the warning lights went off and steering assist was restored.

I purchased vechicle 9/11/21. The electronic start stop option is not Fuctioning. I understand you could stall In traffic if you use the option. I prefer to use standard way for safety.

Sunroof randomly exploded while driving down the road with no other vehicles or objects nearby

On many occasions, warning lights come on for no reason. The dealer has "updated" software, but to no avail.. Collision warning, stop/start error, throttle body error and more. On the last event we were driving uphill, approx 25 mph, nobody in front of us, and the brakes slammed on with multiple errors showing.. the car then lurched forward with active breaking, stop start error, throttle body sensor all showing up and going away. This happened 4 times on the evening of Sep 15th. The errors and random and intermittent.. They replaced a "secondary" battery at one point, and that did nothing. They told us we needed to drive it for over 100 miles, to charge the battery, but it did not fix the stop/start or any other error. Now it is in the Cerritos dodge dealer and we have a formal complaint filed with Chrystler.. The dealer states they can't find any problems.. During most of the events, the errors and warning lights do not stay on longer than a few seconds. I have one picture I was able to take when the warning lights stayed on a little longer.

My heat and air and defrost comes on and off when it is raining my defrost do not work that is a safety hazard if I Can not defrost my window when it rain and snow nothing works in my truck it works when it wants to . This should be a recall this was a brand new when I brought it should not be having these problems already at theses miles , also my locks don’t want to lock my driver door I have to push it lock.

EPS steering warning light activated. My VIN is not subject to NHTSA recall 23V-352, but that recall applies to Jeep Grand Cherokees built between 1/27/21 and 4/4/23, and mine was built 9/2021, so I'm not sure why it doesn't show a recall for my VIN.. This warning light seems related to that recall, and there might be many owners not being subject to the recall that should be.

This vehicle as well as thousands of other Jeep, Wagoneer, Ram and Dodge vehicles with the UConnect 5 system has a glitch which causes the navigation to reboot. Forums show this is happening in many vehicles to many owners. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? When the system restarts, it changes screens unexpectedly which causes the drivers eyes to be drawn to the screen. The driver also has to take their eyes off the road to push a button to get the navigation off the screen. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the dealer's only offer was to 'factory reset' the system, however that only fixed the issue for a day or so. Then it reverts back to 'TomTom Loading...'. The native Navigation system installed in this system is TomTom. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? I have made many attempts to contact the manufacturer and dealer to get this repaired over the last year only to be told that a fix has not been identified. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Other than the message of 'TomTom Loading...', no there have been no other messages.

While driving 70mph on highway, all lights on dash illuminated, lane assist malfunctioned, wipers went on, blinkers stopped working, vehicle lost speed quickly. Was able to move it off the road, but stopped running before being completely on shoulder. Vehicle would not turn on again in any capacity and hazard warning lights would not function. Needed to have vehicle towed, awaiting final report on issues. No warning was given before this malfunction occured.

I have under 13,000 miles on my car. When i had barely 11k miles, my whole computer system and power steering system shut down 8 hours from my home while on a road trip with my three children and our dog. It left me in the middle of busy traffic and easily a target for oncoming traffic and was very dangerous. The steering g could barely be turned at all. We had this fixed and it’s happened again. I just returned from a trip. I was on my way to school and got stuck in rush hour traffic with my child in the car. The power steering and computer system locked up again and no air would work in the vehicle and the heat index is 115 today! I cannot trust this car and there are numerous lawsuits and complaints regarding this same issue! We could easily wreck and it would be life altering. The current situation is not showing up in my app so I only have the one incident. I’ve never felt so vulnerable. And Jeep is no help.

Two days in a row - the jeep didn't start in the morning. After I started it with a starter. The first day, the buttons on the steering wheel and the safety system control stopped working. Incorrectly shows the fuel level. The second day when the car started with the help of a starter, the dashboard stopped working (completely went out). While driving at highway speed the motor shut down without any warning. I was in the center lane of traffic and had no acceleration, no power steering, nothing the vehicle went dead in highway traffic at highway speeds. I had to coast and get over several lanes and on to the shoulder. Vehicle came to a stop on a narrow shoulder with speeding vehicles and 18 wheelers whizzing by. I had to cal 911 and get police to help so I wouldn't get rear ended. Had to wait on shoulder for an hour to get a tow to safety. The vehicle never restarted, and the transmission was locked in park. The vehicle is now at the jeep dealership to see what happened. I just read on line that Jeep Grand Cherokees have this problem and Jeep is not doing anything to repair. 3 months ago, I was getting my all-season tires installed in lieu of my winter ones. They told me that the lug nuts on all four of my wheels were swollen and I needed to get a replacement as they could not use them. It was my first time hearing this terminology. I asked for clarification and was told that due to severe rust they cannot be used. 15 days ago, i heard some squeaking coming from the tires. I took it to the mechanic and was told that I have to replace the rear wheel pads. I took it yesterday to have them replaced and when they took off the tires, they called me in to witness that the rear disk brake rotors are totally rusted from the inside out, were badly deteriorated, and some pieces were falling off. They checked the front wheels as well, and they had the same issue as well. An issue such as this could lead to severe consequences and could potentially be life threating. I ended up replacing Front and Rear Disk Brake Rotors and Pads, and

Crossing 4 way intersection with no cars or animals in site and while accelerating at about 40 mph vehicle came to a shuddering halt in the middle of the road for no reason. My husband and I were both thrown forward whipping our necks back and forth and my collar bone taking a direct hit with the seat belt. There were no sounds to warn us, no lights came on it just slammed its own brakes for no reason. My dealership brought me a loaner and vehicle was towed to them where they are working on getting the issue solved, but I am going to be terrified this will happen again and rightly so.

On May 4, 2023, immediately upon starting the car, warning lights were illuminated: Blind Spot Alert Unavailable - Service Required; Stop/Start Unavailable Service Stop/Start System; Service Electronic Stability Control; Oil Change Required; Service Power Steering; Check Engine Light. Vehicle had no power steering. It was taken to the dealership several hours later, and at that time no warning lights came on and the car had power steering. Dealership indicated that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. On July 1, while driving 75 mph on I-95 in New Hampshire, while on a road trip from NY to Maine, multiple warning lights illuminated and vehicle immediately lost power steering. I was barely able to get it to the shoulder. Not one Jeep dealership in the area was available to see the car. A local mechanic was able to hook it up and determined that the car lost connectivity. He agreed to keep the car while we continued on our trip with a rental car we found and contacted our Jeep dealer. Two days later, while waiting for our Jeep dealership to tow it home, we learned that the vehicle was completely dead and won't even accept a charge to the battery. Chrysler Customer Service was called and a case was opened on July 3rd. Upon calling back on July 5th, I learned that they "closed" the case. No one could explain to me why and I asked for it to be reopened. Called back on July 11th and spoke with a different representative who indicated the case was "closed" and there was no indication of my call from July 5th. Reiterated and clarified all information and now await a call from a Specialist. The car is still not in NY and is still at the mechanic in NH waiting to be picked up by Jeep to be inspected and fixed. My safety and that of my family, and those in the cars around me, were put at risk as a result of this incident as I lost the ability to steer the vehicle while traveling at 75 mph.

Not the first time but while I am driving the car steering will lock and I can no longer move it. The latest was when I went to see fireworks with my kids and while on the way there I was going to turn and while turning the steering locked and I couldn’t turn anymore so I had to break before I hit a pole but another car almost crashed into me, honked at me, and flicked me off. On the way home I was driving straight and Had to turn but couldn’t because the steering wheel locked and I almost drove into a canal. This is a safety issue that concerns me and I am scared for my life and my kids life and at this point I’m scared to drive because I don’t know when it will lock. I’ve taken it to jeep many times with no solution.

PER THE INFORMATION I CAN FIND - THE PREVIOUS RECALL # IS "21V797000" - I took my Jeep GC L in for the recall per the campaign and the work was complete yet it was not corrected. I have been back to the dealer 3 separate times no one can provide an update as to why this issue is not able to be corrected. I still cannot turn my high beams on without having to move the headlights to the 'on position.' Per the info available on the previous recall, "When the master lighting switch is set to the auto position, the high beam headlights will not activate unless the master lighting switch is first changed to the 'on" position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Driving through my subdivision, no other cars in sight, no animals, no people, nothing in front of me and the automatic emergency braking mechanism engaged and brought my car to a sudden stop.The brakes engaged on their own, tires squeeled and my body jolted, almost hitting my head on steering wheel. Automatic brake sensors have activated before for no reason as no objects were in sight, but never has the vehicle actually stopped on its own. On May 12, 2023 when driving through Albuquerque, NM on I-40 our panoramic sunroof exploded. As best we could tell, nothing hit it and there we no pressures changes as we were on the west side of Albuquerque headed west. Fortunately we did not have it open so no glass got in the car. We called our insurance after we stopped to buy plastic bags and tape to cover the damaged sunroof. Once we got to our destination we called the local dealership and they said they couldn't get us in for 2 weeks. It would have been nice if they said we'll get you worked in to at least cover it to keep rain from getting in. It's now been over a week and the glass is still back ordered and we have not ETA on getting it in. Frustrating that Jeep isn't able to quickly repair what I would call a safety item.

Battery has died three times within 1.5 years…

While driving over Donner Summit (7000 ft elevation) on HWY 80 towards Reno, the Sun Roof shattered with a loud pop. Fortunately, the sun roof visor was closed so shattered glass didn't make it into the car. I was sitting in school pick up line with the Jeep off. I started it and everything was normal, until I pulled into the road. The power steering went out and the light on dash said lane management not working needs service. The light for the adaptive lane cruise control came on. I was driving and when I was trying to turn I would have to turn the wheel almost 360°! There was no issues or warnings lights prior to this happening. I called dealer and they got me in the next day. They say it needed a update but it's scary if this just happens without warning, especially if you are on the road.

I am writing to file a complaint regarding the long start or failure to start issue with my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. This problem began occurring at around 17,000 miles of use and has happened sporadically but with increasing frequency ever since. When I push the Start button, the vehicle may crank continuously until it times out or sputters to life right at the end of the timeout. This problem can be demonstrated repeatedly by parking the vehicle out in the sun for a few hours and then attempting to start it. I am concerned about the safety risks that this issue presents. The failure to start or long start could put me and others in danger if the vehicle stalls while driving or if I am unable to start it in an emergency situation. I have taken my vehicle to a Jeep dealer, and they have confirmed that they have experienced the same problem. However, the vehicle does not generate any warning lights or codes when it happens. Based on my research, I have found that several other owners of 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokees have reported similar issues, some of which started at the same mileage as mine. I believe that the problem is caused by a faulty valve in the fuel pump assembly that fails to retain pressure after the car sits for a while. I strongly urge you to investigate this issue further and consider issuing a recall for affected vehicles. It is my belief that Jeep/Chrysler/Stellantis has a chronic problem on their hands that may warrant a recall and replacement of fuel pumps across a specific range of Grand Cherokees. While driving a short distance from home, the power steering in the vehicle went out. Unable to straighten the vehicle out, the car jumped onto a sidewalk, knocked over a light pole and drove through someones yard until the power steering kicked back in and allowed the vehicle to return to the road. Had there been someone walking on the sidewalk, or someone in the front yard of the home, it could have caused a death. Since the accident, the car has been in the body shop awaiting repairs. There were no codes present when doing diagnostics.

Recall was announced back in August of 2022 and a stop sale was issued on all unsold vehicles due to safety concern. Here we are seven months later and my vehicle still hasn't been repaired. Traveling in my Jeep Grand Cherokee L 2021 with family from the Dallas-Fort Worth area to San Marcos along 130 outside of Austin and fuel pump went out (this was recently diagnosed via phone by a Jeep mechanic at Covert Jeep in Austin 4/3/23) causing engine to fail at 85 miles an hour with no warning. Forcing me to navigate through traffic and attempt to get to the shoulder with cars, trucks, and 18 wheelers traveling upwards of 85 miles an hour. Also, was told the fuel pump for my vehicle was on back order with about 150 people waiting for this part (leading me to think a recall should be issued to have this part looked at). Secondly, as I was waiting the woman in front of me asked if it was my fuel pump and that her went out on the Jeep of the same body style. I replied I wasn't sure, because at the time I wasn't sure (Friday 3/31/23).

The front A-pillars (on both sides of the windshield) are too wide, and block critical visibility needed while driving, especially at crosswalks with pedestrians. In addition, from the driver's seat, the passenger's outside mirror, doesn't allow for any visibility between the pilar frame and the mirror, thus further widening the blind spot on the right side making it difficult to see pedestrians in crosswalks.

The rear rotors and pads became so pitted and damaged so quickly that the brakes shake like a mad man and it seems to be extremely common in the newer jeeps. A remedy or recall for inferior materials used in the pads or rotors may be needed. I know it’s about 30% braking in the rear so in theory those pads/rotors should certainly last far longer.

On Feb 14th 2023 I hit a deer. Got out of my jeep to check damage. Had a broken headlamp overall seemed OK & repairable. Got back in the jeep & continued driving. When I got home & parked in my garage I noticed an odd smell. Looked at the jeep noticed a small fire. Backed the jeep out of the garage & called the fire department. By the time the fire department arrived the entire front of the jeep was on fire. My jeep ended up being a total loss. What is going on with the lights that they would catch fire?

In January all lights loss of the power steering assist, traction control, lane assist, emergency brake, backup assist, airbags, etc. illuminated while driving. Made it home car failed to start next day, had to have it towed. Dealership replaced battery (car only 1 year old). 4 weeks later driving on highway doing 70 with whole family in car same thing occurs. Got off highway and parked. Total loss of power steering at this point and car undeliverable. Had to get it towed again. Dealership now says need to replace both batteries. This seems to be a HUGE safety issue. Multiple complaints online of the same thing occurring.

We were stopped for redlight at busy multilane intersection, light turned green, went to accelerate vehicle revved to over 3000 rpms but would not shift out of first gear, got to side of road put vehicle in neutral and then back into drive and was able to proceed. Took vehicle to Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealer service center after doing diagnostic they did computer update; they then got a diagnostic code to replace transfer case. The vehicle did this again about 3 months later took it to dealer they did diagnostic unable to find anything. Vehicle did it again about 2 weeks later took it to dealer and they performed a computer update. This is a very dangerous situation when vehicle will only barely move at busy intersections, and you are in a middle lane and can't get into and outside lane and off the road in a timely manner. When this happened the first time the vehicle only had a bit over 10,000 miles on it, it currently has slightly over 12,000 miles on it. This problem is intermittent, and the dealer has not been able to replicate it. Anytime that it happened there were no light indicators on dash.

Car has had erratic electric steering at low speed when making turns. Weird noise from electric steering system. We drove 6 miles to a local park. Walked the trails then got back into this car. Started up. Warnings came up on screen. 1 Service Stability system, 2 service blind spot monitor system, 3 rear collision avoidance unavailable, 4 Blind spot monitoring system became inoperative. 5. Electric steering became extremely difficult to operate. We restarted car 2 times and all the above warnings came on each time. As it was Saturday Evening, we limped car home. Parked in Garage and I started it 2 hours later with all the above warnings. Left overnight and started Sunday afternoon 2/11/23, no warnings. Drove car to selling dealership, parked in line for repairs and it is still there. Dealership has finally gotten in an entire electric steering assembly, as this was the stored codes from 2/10/23, and they are supposed to be installing it tomorrow 2/24/2023. Failure of an electric steering unit on a car that has no physical connection between the steering wheel and the front tires is a chilling event that needs tobe investigated. Thankfully I did not wreck the car, but I parked it because of the malfunction, and on hindsight, I should have had it hauled to the Dealership instead of driving it there.

1) Back up camera goes blank periodically. A few times the monitor would not come on at all. Frightening when I am using it for directions. 2) Service System 4WD light has come on. Jeep dealer said it is a Disconnect Acetutor (?). I have appt to repair but am concerned it might not be safe to drive. 3) Cannot figure out how to get high beams to automatically turn off when oncoming vehicle is approaching.

Steering wheel airbag cover cracked without pressing on the horn or any force. The lift gate will go up halfway and instantly come back down without pressing the button to make it come back down. And, the front passenger tie rod has been replaced twice in 18 months.

Turning the car on, there was a failure of our power steering and the steering wheel was not functional. Check engine light and power steering error lights came on. After turning car on and off, we were able to drive (check engine light remained on) to a dealership. They performed a software update that Chrysler released in Oct 2022. This is the second time this has happened to us (first in April 2022, car had to be towed), there are forums of similar issues for this model. Dealer was able to pull the codes and said they have seen other similar instances of this issue. "We cannot guarantee this won't happen again" it was physically inspected and did not see any obvious issues. This is absolutely a safety issue and should result in a recall in my opinion if it is a known issue that is a safety hazard.

On 12/31/2022, I received six notifications from my app regarding “theft alarm triggered”. Go outside horn is honking. Turn off and continued. January 2, 2023 I brought vehicle into jeep as my entire dash was glitching in and out. Couldn’t see my speed limit. Interior lights were turning on and off. Back light on interior tailgate was blinking. They had my car a few days and it was “fixed”. February 3, 2023 vehicle wouldn’t start. Replaced battery. Vehicle dash began glitching, interior lights turning on and off and theft alarm notifications. Brought into jeep they said it was the battery even though we just replaced battery. They replaced battery and called me to pick up the next day. 2/7/2023 same issues began occurring. However, when car was powered off, a buzzing sound was heard and interior lights were turning on and off. 2/8/2023 vehicle would not start. Had to be towed to dealership. Concerned there is an electrical issue that could cause a fire. Unsure if issue was reproduced but I have several videos all time stamped and dated to show delegates what is happening.

Hi, I wish to submit a compliant as Jeep have still not issued a remedy for my 2021 vehicle. This is a new expensive vehicle that I'm unfortable driving my young children in so I'm suprised and dissapointed it is taking Jeep so long to resolve.

Quick response to pull over so we weren't hit. No symptoms prior to all the lights flashing and losing power steering.

Driving on I70 West near Idaho Springs, CO and the rear panel on the panoramic sunroof exploded upwards. No debris hit, it just exploded upwards.

The Recall z50/ 22V544 has been outstanding for the tailamp since August 2022 and still has no remedy.

Driving down a steep icy hill all warning lights illuminated and power steering completely failed. This is the second time for this specific failure. The vehicle is extremely hard to control without power steering and could have easily caused an acident. The vehicle was repaired at a local dealership both times.

Vehicle had no high beams. Vehicle has no running lights at night. Rear console climate control intermittently works. Idles at 1500 on a cold start. Vehicle doesn’t have power steering when started in a cold day. Have to turn off and on to fix.

Bought vehicle in October - dealer was only able to give me the vehicle 2 months later. When I picked up the vehicle it smelled like something electric was burning. ON 11/19/2022 I AM DRIVING AT ABOUT 65 MPH GOING NORTHBOUND IN THE RIGHT LANE ON THE PALISADES INTERSTATE PARKWAY AT EXIT 2 IN NJ. A CAR PASSING ME IN THE LEFT LANE STRIKES A DEER WITH HIS LEFT FRONT AND THE DEER IS FLIPPED IN THE AIR. THE DEER IS NOW AIRBORNE AND IN THE RIGHT LANE. I DRIVE INTO THE DEER AND IT IMPACTS THE HOOD OF THE JEEP AND CRASHES THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD AND LANDS IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. I DID NOT HAVE TIME TO BRAKE HARD BUT WAS ABLE TO PULLOVER ON A GRASSY AREA OAST THE EXIT ON THE RIGHT. I HAVE A DASHCAN VIDEO BUT I CANNOT UPLOAD TO REPORT. AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST AND CN BE EMAILED TO YOU. CONCERN: 1. THE EMERGENCY ASSIST SYSTEM ACTIVATED AND DETECTED A COLLISION AND ASKED ME IF I NEEDED POLICE , FIRE OR AMBULANCE. 2. Power steering failed for a day then was fine the next day. Our safety was not affected as it occurred at home. We received no recall regarding the issue. Dealership reported it was an "RSU" and corrected the issue with a software update

Both my power steering and lane assistance have been going unresponsive. Upon further investigation it sounds like this is a problem with numerous 2021 Jeep grand cherokee Ls and there is no recall. No power steering is a very dangerous situation

While in gear if would not go. Within the first 5,000 miles it was in the shop twice and had to have a new transmission installed. Drove it for another 5-6k miles and same thing happened again and dealership is saying it will need another transmission.

The contact stated that on two separate occasions, the vehicle failed to accelerate after shifting from reverse(R) into drive (D) without warning, with the RPM revving without the vehicle responding. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer after the second failure; however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact also stated while going downhill at low rate of speed, the vehicle independently downshifted twice without warning, which brought the vehicle to a near stop. The contact stated that the vehicle lunged forward with her foot on the brake pedal with an abnormal cranking sound coming from the transmission. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. No incident. Manufacturer and local dealers have no remedy available currently or in the foreseeable future outside of purchasing a new vehicle. Retract the recall until a valid remedy is available or impose requirements on the manufacturer to provide a remedy immediately.

Power steering becomes unavailable; the car will not drive; all safety features become unavailable. The first time happened in April 2022, vehicle only had 6k miles. I had to remove the power steering fuse and put it back in for the system to reset. The vehicle was taken to dealer for rapid response recall. October 2022, went to start car and the same message came out regarding power steering and safety features being unavailable, car would not start and had to reset the power steering fuse. The system reset, but now the engine light is amber and will not turn off; the vehicle has 16k miles. I will be contacting the service department first thing Monday morning

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that an unstated software needed to be updated. No warning lights were illuminated. The software was updated; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 21,000.

Engine mounts have failed. According to the FCA, they have a very large backorder on these parts, as this is an extremely common issue. Initially they denied that the motor mounts were an issue; however, since the major back order, they have reversed that claim. They also stated the motor mounts would be at the dealership on the 13th of October; however, they now state that they have no date due to major back order. They stated no recall was issued because it's not a safety hazard; however, according to multiple certified mechanics, this is a major safety hazard which can result in the motor shifting and knocking parts out from under the vehicle, causing pieces to hit the vehicle itself or other vehicles on the highway. It also will cause major damage to the engine and other components under the hood of the vehicle. The FCA still has not agreed to this claim, even as some of their own Mopar mechanics also stated the same information regarding it being a safety hazard.

I was approaching the location where I was about to turn and began to slow down. Out of no where, the forward collision detection system was set off and automatic braking was applied, causing the SUV behind me to go right off the roadway to avoid a rear end collision. Traffic was extremely heavy at the time. The motorist caught up with me at the location I eventually turned into and accused me of slamming on brakes on purpose. I explained to them the malfunction that occured; however, they were still rightfully upset due to them having children in their vehicle, which caused panic. I let them know I would be reaching out to report the situation, as well as turning off the supposed safety feature until the issue could be rectified. This was a very dangerous situation and could have resulted in a major traffic collision, causing serious injury or death. I do have a dashcam video of the incident.

This is the second time the power steering and other lane assist devices have gone out in my car. It is completely undrivable and Jeep advised last time they didn’t have a fix.

Vehicle reported on instrument cluster a loss of Electronic Stability Control, Power Steering, blind spot alert, adaptive cruise control, and cruise control. We have been having electronic issues for >2 months. Previously the vehicle reported an estart fault and would randomly engage the ebrake. It would not allow disengaging the ebrake unless the car was restarted and/or hood was opened and shut. This occured while turning left at a light causing the vehicle to abruptly stop in the intersection. We have had the vehicle serviced 2 times, and now will return it for a third time for these electronics issues.

I was putting my 4 month old baby into the back seat. Simultaneously my mother was trying to open the back hatch to put bags in. As I shut the back door where my son was, my mom somehow ended up locking the car while trying to open the hatch. I was completely unaware that my key was even in the car. We tried unlocking every single door but nothing was working. I opened my app to unlock it that way and it said "Activation of service in progress. We're configuring your vehicle. Please try again later" and would not let me purchase or click anything.  I recognize it is my error for not re-subscribing to Jeep Mopar services but I do not believe any car should ever lock if there is a key inside of it. On top of this, I tried calling Jeep for assistance. I still have my trials active for assistance and security. The first woman I spoke to told me I had to accept a text message first. As I waited for this to come through, panicking about my son inside, I told her the situation and she said she cannot help, only send someone out there to assist. I found this to be another safety failure on Jeep's part as I was clearly calling from the number on my account, where they were sending a code to verify - I just needed someone to unlock my car remotely OR allow me to purchase Mopar quickly to get back into my app. None of these were options given to me. The woman on the phone said she had to transfer me to someone else. We waited and waited and no one ever came on the phone. It was clear we were disconnected. I called the number again and this time a man answered. When I explained the situation he said, very rudely, that it was a 911 situation, not a Jeep situation.   We called 911 and rescue vehicles did arrive but it took a very long time.  It would have been 10x faster to have help from Jeep in that situation and get my car unlocked remotely or been allowed to active mopar for quicker access. I would have been able to open the door to my 4 month old child a lot quicker. 

I was driving 45-55mph,closest vehicle was about 4-5 car links in front on me, driving about same speed-when the breaks locked up. I had not hit the break! On my dash where the mph is located it turned red and said BREAK.It made the jeep pretty well come to a complete stop in a second. The seat belt caught my neck,my son (passages) seat belt caught his belt and hurt his stomach, my son (back seat driver side) hit the drivers seat pretty hard. I have now took my jeep into the dealer. No word yet in there findings. This was scary and could have ended very badly. We was fortunate enough not to have wreaked or worse. I don’t know who or where to contact someone about this issue.

I have had TWO incidents where the automatic emergency brake has engaged. The first was in a parking lot at low speed with no cars or objects near the car. The car completely seized up and I had to get a tow truck to take it to the dealer. The second incident I had to slow to zero for a dog in the road and then after it moved and I accelerated the brake engaged and I had to pull out of the road way so I would not get hit from behind. After the car sat parked for 8 hours I was able to drive it to dealer with an engine light on. At dealer the light went off so they were not able to diagnose anything .

Vehicle had soaked and saturated drivers side carpeting and padding underneith. It was leaking when the Air Conditioniing was near the middle of the console (about half way inbetween the gas pedal and edge of seat) When taken to the dealer it was stated that there was no AC drain hose installed on assembly. After seeing where they installed it, it was very clear nothing was there on assembly. Drivers side fllor completely soaked through and no considration for damage to rugs and moisture.

The contact owned a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact that while driving at 35 MPH, he saw a shadow out of the corner of the left of his eye which he presumed to be a cat. In an effort to avoid hitting the animal, he steered the vehicle in the right direction and crashed into a telephone pole. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. Due to the failure, the contact hit his head on the front driver-side window. The contact did not seek medical treatment; however, he sustained pain in both his left and right shoulders, and his lower back, and even experienced intermittent vomiting which he assumed to be the result of a concussion. A police report was filed. The contact was unaware if any property damage was sustained. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it remained in their possession. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had been deemed a total loss. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

When I started the car and backed out I was alerted that the power steering had a failure and lane departure warnings also. Power steering was not working. Left car for an hour and when I restarted it, warning light was off and steering worked again. Random power steering failure is extremely scary.

Trailer lightning error on dashboard (trailer package is factory installed)

Driving vehicle at highway speeds, indicators and alarms started going off saying the power steering, airbags, brake assist, and park sense features were unavailable. I exited the interstate, parked in a nearby parking lot, turned off and restarted my car. All indicator lights were normal, so I began driving again. Approximately 43 miles later, also driving at highway speeds, the same indicator lights and alarms appeared. I exited the highway and tried turning off and restarting the car. Upon restarting, all indicator lights and warning messages stayed on, and the power steering was no longer functional. The car had to be towed to a local dealership.

My 21 Jeep Cherokee shipped from Detroit Stellantis HUGE cover up FLOOD car. My JEEP is 8 mons new. I leased it 12/7 contacted Uconnect on 12/13 for Powertrain Malfunction indicator light on. Dealer claims vehicle health reports aren’t accurate. At dealer 3/14/22 service found stored fault for oil, low oil, carpet was destroyed, getting oil changed at 2300 miles. Dealer only recorded oil change on car fax. 3/31st- June I filed a buy back claim w/ Chrysler. Chrysler denied. At dealer 6/11 code P060A, stop/ start doesn’t work, car stalls, radio turns up/down on its own, center consaul base popped out, burning Oil life rapidly. No work done. At dealer 6/14 ”faulty oil pump” said manager, car bucks on highway, car locked me out at 12:30 am called Uconnect they couldn’t bypass. They stated door was open still locked out, stranded multiple times, car will not start. Dealer has me reschedule get rental 6/21-6/29 to replace oil pump, and fix all issues. Dealer state My oil tank is full but dash says 41% oil .Electrical sys. is messed up Called lemon law atty, accepted case. Chrysler receives atty CLAIM whileJeep was still in the shop. dealer didn’t fix anything BUT ROTTED CARPET- OIL PUMP on back order CHRYSLER REFUSES to pay for loaner while oil pump is on back order. The car DOESN’T start. Pump to arrive late July. VM from dealer, Chrysler told dealer my vehicle is SAFE TO DRIVE w/ faulty oil pump. I called dealer to find out status of pump my Jeep needs another oil change at 5,000 mls & ENGINE LIGHT ON Dealer refused srvc b/c Chrysler told them about the lawsuit. Atty called dealer stated it’s a claim against Chrysler. Dealer still refused. My car won’t start,ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. TONS OF SAFETY ISSUES Called another Chrysler dealer VM they REFUSED to service Jeep. 7/23 took JEEP to 3rd Chrysler dealer found: PO6DA, B25AF-2A, B1561-13 Dealer SAID UNSAFE TO DRIVE! I HAVE NO CAR, NO $ CHRYSLER REFUSING TO PAY LOANER. Atty said this is FRAUD. Jeep won’t be in srvc 8/11 FRAUD

Twice my vehicles charging system has not charged effectively. The first time, the adaptive cruise and forward collision systems became inoperable. During a 500 mile trip at highway speeds the battery voltage did not increase over 12.8v. This caused the air conditioner to stop blowing cold air on a 90 degree day. Two days later the air-conditioning system is still not operable.

Two issues: power steering warning with no fix. Light remains illuminated. Second: ALM (Active Lane Management) will turn off sporadically and not turn back on. Sometimes takes a few stop and restart of the engine for the ability to turn back on.

The transmission was slamming into gears while attempting to accelerate onto a road way from a mall parking lot and any time we met a hill of even the smallest incline, the transmission would be slamming gears again so we struggled when met with needing to accelerate. When attempting to accelerate, transmission began slamming into gears, would and wouldn't shift, transmission would go into limp mode rendering the vehicle unable to operate safely and causing us to loose speed. Any inclines we would lose the ability to accelerate and would hope we'd make it up the hills. Any time I attempted to accelerate, the transmission would begin jerking the car in a forward and backward like motion while it was attempting to find what gear it needed. When that would happen, the tack would jump all over the place as would the gear number on the dash (I have video of all this) Our safety was put at risk due to other oncoming traffic and my vehicle unable to accelerate as it should have and was expected to, putting risk to us getting hit by multiple other motorist not realizing we were experiencing a malfunction with our transmission not permitting us to accelerate as we normally should of been able to. Vehicle is going in later today (07/14/2022) to be looked at after it's oil change and tire rotation. I was told if it can't be replicated, there is nothing they can do about it. I showed them a video of what was happening (a video I took while on a non-busy side road with no traffic) and the Service manager told me that it doesn't matter if I have a video - if their tech can't replicate it, then there's nothing they can do. I no longer feel safe pulling out into other traffic with this vehicle due to this situation coming on completely unexpectedly. There were no warning signals, alarms or anything. The problem randomly began happening and it lasted for over 54 miles as we were just trying to get back home from being an hour away from home with our child in the car.

On July 14, 2022 I was driving my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L and Stopped for traffic on I-25 when a truck going at high speed rear ended me going about 40-60 MPH and caused me to hit the vehicle in front of me. The air bags failed to deploy. I had NHTSA safety recall 21V-873 done on my vehicle at my Jeep Dealer in May 2022. The Recall repair did not work as the air bags did not deploy when I was rear ended by another vehicle at a high rate of speed. See answers to questions below What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Air Bags How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Involved in a serious accident. Air bags did not deploy. Repair for NHTSA safety recall 21V-873 did not work. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? NO Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? A police report was done on the accident. They saw no airbags had deployed after the accident Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? None.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee L (long model with 3rd row seating) has a panoramic sunroof. Today while driving on the highway, the panoramic sunroof exploded right in the center of each section. It has two sections which overlap when fully open. There were no warning signs, lamps, or cracks prior to this. The glass shattered and flew behind us and all over the inner sunshade. It was extremely scary and dangerous! My son was in the back seat and would’ve been hit with broken glass had the sunshade been open. I haven’t filed any claims with Jeep or my insurance co yet. Please help!

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH during rainy weather conditions, a vehicle in the left lane attempted to turn into the lane in which she was in however that driver did not wait for the contact to pass and resulted in crashing into the middle-rear of the driver side. The other driver did not have his turning signals illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. During the incident, the contact crashed into a curb and then into a residential yard. The contact was able to get the vehicle out of the yard. The police arrived on the scene, and there was a police report filed. There were no injuries reported. The vehicle was driven dealer the following day; and diagnosed failure with a left pension, chamber link, bearing, toe suspension, rear axel, and compression; all those parts were replaced. The vehicle was then driven to a tire shop for alignment repair. The contact then experienced failure with the vehicle inadvertently jerking her off the road. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; who performed a test drive and informed the contact the lane departure was not operating. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000

In March 2022 my wife was driving down a street in Arizona on her way to work when she heard a pop and the car stopped accelerating. She managed to get the car into a neighborhood and pulled over. I picked her up and left the car there. Eventually I was able to get it towed to the dealership at which point the service advisor told me the transmission needed to be replaced. The car only had 2,900 miles on it. I requested that Chrysler buy the car back knowing it was defective but they said the car does not qualify for a buy back and they ended up giving us a 1 month payment and fixed the card under warranty. In June 2022, my family and I were on vacation in California traveling north on the I-5. The car made a faint noise and several lights came on the dashboard. It was still moving but we had to slow down due to an accident in front of us and the car stopped accelerating again. It would not go into neutral or reverse and we were stuck in the middle of the freeway with cars having to drive around us. After about 30 minutes of sitting in our car a tow driver finally pulled up behind us. We got out of our car and got into his truck while he loaded our car to tow us off the freeway. After waiting a couple hours the other tow driver came and towed our car to the dealership. The dealership diagnosed the problem and told me the valve body in the transmission needed to be replaced. The car had 5,600 miles on it and was fixed under warranty. We were able to drive it back home to Arizona after using a rental car for a week.

I started driving through an intersection after sitting, stopped at a traffic light. I stepped on the gas pedal and the car wouldn’t move. It made a loud reviving noise but wouldn’t go anywhere for about 15-20 seconds. I put my hazard lights on and sat for a few more seconds and then put it in park, and then back into drive. I was able to pull onto the median of a very busy road. My vehicle was brought to the dealership who said there’s nothing wrong with it

Vehicle is making a knocking noise when in drive and fully stopped. This occurs after drive the vehicle for about 10 miles, once the engine warms up. I've been told that it was a purge selenoid and it's normal. Was also told it was an EGR Valve and also advised that it was the air suspension. Meanwhile they have a open star case stating it's the motor mounts. 100s of people are having the same issue on the facebook group I'm in, as well as forums and no one is getting anywhere. Also my radio system is making a hissing noise and the android auto connection is not stable and doesn't stay connected. They currently have no fix for this. My steering wheel is slightly off to the right to go straight. They stated the alignment is good and that it does that because incase the driver falls asleep, it would drive them off the road instead of into oncoming traffic. That's sounds extremely bogus and very dangerous.

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited: Looses power steering and the light comes on and a message saying power steering unavailable. Took it to the dealer and they ran the code as the aux battery going below voltage threshold. They’ve changed this battery once already due to the same issue and the battery expanding because of the issue and the tsb (?) 3 times to try and fix this issue. This is about the 6th time I have taken it in. Chrysler lacks at figuring out what is wrong. They’ve gone through every wiring harness everything.

The engine mounts on the right side of the motor are defective. It was discovered after I brought the car in for a drum-like noise coming from the engine. The vehicle is less than a year old and has less than 10,000 miles on it. Dealership indicated this has been a recurring problem in some of the new model Grand Cherokee vehicles and the manufacturer is aware of it. They indicated a recall has not been issued as they believe there isn’t a safety concern.They have ordered new engine mounts for vehicle, but they don’t have an ETA on when parts will arrive. They refused my request for a courtesy rental or loaner car. They indicated car was safe to drive. However, I disagree and expressed my concerns to the dealer. They said I would have to call “corporate”.

Unknown. Suspension issue/s cause car to jitter and vibrate (unsettled washboard-like ride quality) on the road. Suspension is standard-- not air suspension. Noticeable vibrations/jittering at speeds over 35mph. Makes steering difficult. Makes driving exhausting, as every undulation is transferred into the cabin. Issue has not yet been inspected by dealer or manufacturer. No warning lights--- but it is a suspension system, so a warning light is not likely. This is a brand new vehicle. It should not be exhibiting these problems. I have tested the same model from several different years and none exhibit this ride characteristic, it is just my vehicle.

Electrical issues stalled car without warning while driving. Vehicle restarted briefly and stalled again with electrical warnings.

Forward collision warning system and auto emergency braking system non operative since vehicle was purchased from new. Have paper work from local dealership confirmation that systems are non operative but they can not fix and do not know why. Was told that this is an issue on all Jeep’s. Corporate has a case open but will not call me back and when I call them system states that I can leave a voicemail with my case worker but then hangs up with no options to speak to anyone.

Airbag System Service Required light came on last night and then turned off. Power Steering Unavailable has come on two more times since my last time filling this out.

I started my car with my factory installed remote starter and 5 minutes later my car was engulfed in flames. This was a brand new car, and has been reported to Chrysler,. I reported this the day it happened on 5/9/22 and I still have not heard back from Chrysler. Just concerned this could happen to others.

This vehicle has so many issues. Including but not limited too: Car play not working, Start/Stop function not working with no message as to why, Power steering becoming unavailable both at the start of a drive and during a drive, battery under passenger seat was expanded on the bottom, 4wd service light comes on randomly(mostly when started with the app) and many other issues.

Vehicle's driver seat frame makes popping noises when you put excess strain on the seat (i.e. change your seat position or shuffle around in your seat and whenever you are driving and apply the brakes and/or make a turn. Getting worse as i drive the vehicle more and more.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the service power steering warning light was illuminated with an audible chime. The contact stated that while attempting to move to the side of the roadway the vehicle lost power steering functionality. The vehicle was driven to the residence and then towed to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that there was grease in the power steering connectors and cleaned the connectors. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000. THE CONSUMER MENTIONED ANOTHER RECALL NEEDING TO BE COMPLETED, BUT THE NECESSARY PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE RECALL CONCERNED THE TAIL LIGHTS.

While driving on the highway, there was a massive electrical system failure, resulting in the power steering, air bag, lane management, emergency braking, and other systems failing immediately and without warning. Vehicle was almost impossible to operate, but an accident was avoided. These failures not only put the vehicle's occupants at risk (no air bags), but also other motorists with the sudden loss of power steering. Cursory research shows this is a somewhat common issue. The vehicle is being towed to the dealership to be inspected, but due to the safety issues this warrants a report.

2021 Grand Cheroke L: while driving at 30 mph on an off ramp, Right Rear lower A frame broke causing damage to rear right suspension air bag spring and wheel & axle cocked approx 30-40degrees. Almost lost control of vehicle but was able to pull off onto grass median. My wife and 5 year old son were in car with me. Could have been a catastrophe lucky traveling at slow speed(just came off highway). Towed to Dealer. Huntington Jeep dealer on Jericho Tpke 11743 said looks like damaged caused by hitting a pot hole. This did not happen,my opinion is part failed due to defect. Car was left on ground and still there in lot until parts come in so Insurance said they couldn't determine what caused failure. No warning lights or messages before failure.

Power Steering Warning see dealer for service light appeared on dashboard upon starting vehicle. I tried restarting the vehicle 7 times, and it did not reset the light. Also, the steering wheel is very heavy to turn. It is available to inspection upon request. I will be taking it to the dealer tomorrow. I did not leave my parking lot because it occurred upon starting the car, and I was unable to take my children to tee ball.

There are lots of non stop electrical issues with this car , main problem they had a internal recall for power steering wheel, few weeks later I lost control of the power steering wheel while driving it had an error massage on the main dashboard , “power steering currently unavailable service required “ . Luckily I was pulling out of a parking lot and was only going few miles an hour and I was able to stop , if I was going highway speed not sure if I was here typing this . The car barker have 8500 miles on it and it’s a major safety hazard . From what I understand I was not the only one with that issue and jeep sweeps it under the rug , if they aware of the issue why they don’t contact the car owners to bring them to fix the issue. ? Only when someone dies they will

Driving on a highway in Kansas at 9pm the car slammed on brakes and sent a pedestrian warning. There is NOTHING out in the middle of Kansas, especially a pedestrian. This occurred 2 more times. The car would randomly brake.

Brakes locked up. Had to use all my body weight on brakes not to have a collision. 2nd major brake vehicle with this car.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving, the navigation system became inoperable. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that a software update was needed. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.

Backstory: This vehicle has had electrical issues since the day after signing the lease. The second day of driving the vehicle would not start and flashed all the sorts of engine failures. The dealership could not find anything wrong with it after two weeks and deemed it "repaired." Then, 2 days later the vehicle would not start again and flashed all sorts of of engine and system failures. After 4 months of going through FCA's process for the Lemon Law buyback, FCA presented a buyout offer that was inadequate and contained numerous release clauses we were not comfortable agreeing to. We choose to seek Mass Lemon Law State Arbitration as our right to ensure we achieved a fair outcome. FCA pulled our replacement vehicle and in essence forced us to drive to take back and drive the vehicle after it was again "repaired" this time by replacing a battery. The dealership that repaired the vehicle drove it for a week before we were comfortable taking it back. Incident: A month later, while driving the vehicle on a busy main road (at approx. 15 MPH), the vehicle started to alert that various systems were disable and the transmission started to shift violently and the engine reved. The ABS, airbags, lane departure, powering steering, and other systems said they were disabled and that the transmission was disabled. Fortunately, there was a parking lot on the right, I was able to turn into the lot, and attempt to find a safe place to stop. The parking lot was busy and before I was able to pull into a parking space, the car shut off and would not turn on. The hazard lights would not function, and the vehicle was blocking traffic and multiple parked cars. The car would occasionally start and stay on for 10 to 30 seconds at a time, but either the parking brake was locked or the transmission shifted violently as I pressed the gas pedal. After 20 minutes, I managed to limp the car to a safe spot and await a tow. The vehicle is at the dealership. There is also video.

Steering wheel is very difficult to turn. The difficulty seems to vary somewhat with the temperature-- with the car extremely difficult to turn when both the car and weather are cold-- though even when warm it is more difficult to turn than it should be. The car operates as though there is no power steering when cold, or as if some component of the power steering is bad. The steering wheel also makes a ticking/brushing sound when turned (some component catching or rubbing against another component within the steering column). My safety is at risk because maneuvering the vehicle is difficult. It is especially difficult to maneuver at higher speed (the wheel is almost impossible to turn). Local dealership tested the vehicle and didn't report that they noticed any problems, though they never actually listened for any kind of friction or ticking in the steering column. They also have no frame of reference for how the steering wheel SHOULD turn, since they don't own the car, and as such would not be able to tell if there were a problem by feel alone. No warning messages appeared.

The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the power steering assist, traction control, lane assist, emergency brake, backup assist, air bags, and check engine warning lights all illuminated and the vehicle failed to operate and function as needed. The contact used excessive force to steer the vehicle off the road and had to repeatedly pump the brake pedal. Additionally, the turn signals and warning lights failed to operate as needed. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer however, the mechanic was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 19,146.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while she was stopped at traffic light, as she was taking her foot off the brake pedal to depress the accelerator pedal, the vehicle's automatic emergency braking system engaged and the vehicle came to a stop. The engine was running. The contact stated she was not aware of any warning light being illuminated. The contact had injured her right foot and was diagnosed with a torn Achilles tendon. The contact had taken the vehicle to a unknown local dealer, where it was had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 700.

Power steering and lane keep assist have failed 3 times already for a new vehicle with less than 5k miles on it. Driven to/from work only.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while performing a routine maintenance on the vehicle, she was informed that the vehicle was emitting an abnormal sound. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that failure was associated with the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 28,000.

This is my second attempt to get someone to reach out. I have a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L with approximately 3100 miles. This vehicle has been in the repair shop a minimum of 10 times. Power steering goes out at times while driving. This vehicle falls into the Lemon Law. I have been unable to reach anyone at Jeep Headquarters to assist with resolving this buy back. No one has returned my calls. This is a very serious safety concern

The power steering and adaptive lane control system repeatedly fails. Loss of power steering makes the vehicle harder to turn. This problem was reproduced by a dealer and supposedly corrected by way of software update. This problem has not been corrected and continues to reoccur following the software update. The lamps for the power steering and adaptive lane control system appear when the systems are not working.

This vehicle had a new complete transfer case after owning 3 weeks was in the repair shop for approximately 1 month. 1 week later power steering goes out. back at the dealership. Power Steering goes out again get back 1 day and Power steering goes out as I am driving. Back to the Dealership. 3 x power steering goes out. Now says a repair has been done. This week transmission and interior lights possibly going out. Car purchased new November 4, 2021 has less than 3000 miles on it. Has been in the repair shop approximately 3 months of the 4 months its been owned. This car actually scares me to drive it because I never know what's going to happen.

New vehicle purchase. Uconnect Media Screen has failed and dealer and Jeep states it is unavailable to be repaired. Vehicle Handsfree Text, vehicles Back up Camera, Vehicles Mirror Dimmers and other key safety features are not available.

On certain mornings, when the temperature is below 40 degrees, when the car is started it states that the power steering is unavailable and service is required. The power steering is sluggish and is not easy to drive. As the temperature warms up during the day, the power steering will return. It has been to the dealership on three occasions and currently there is no fix for this problem. Chrysler has told me that the problem is intermittent and the car is drivable without power steering. There is also a service bulletin on this and they expect a software update in the middle of the 1st quarter. We are now near the end of the 1st quarter with no fix in sight. What's more worrisome is that they are saying the vehicle is drivable. This problem has been confirmed by Chrysler and the dealership.

The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with needing the charging system replaced. The vehicle and repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and suggested that the vehicle be taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the crash warning lane departure alert was sounding and failed to disengage. The contact stated that the vehicle would indicate that the vehicle was running even though the vehicle had not been started. The speedometer failed to provide the correct information and the seats would move independently. The contact stated that since purchasing the vehicle there had been several electrical issues with the vehicle. Vehicle was taken to the dealer who linked the failure to the radio frequency hub. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000. Dealer stated that the radio frequency hub needs repair but they are unable to get the part as it part of a recall on the 2022 model.

The vehicle lost both power steering and lane keep assist during normal operation. The mechanical fall back steering still works, but that requires significant more force to turn the steering wheel. The issue went away next time I started the vehicle.

Warning came up that Power steering is unavailable. There have also been numerous occasions before this where no warning has come on, but the steering wheel has a bad vibration while driving

2/18/2022, I was driving down Bethany and 75 in Allen, Texas when my vehicle made a sputtering noise then the gears went out. Could not engage the gears to Drive or Reverse. I coasted the vehicle to the church parking lot where I sat for 6 hours waiting on a tow truck. When tow arrived, vehicle's brake and parking break had to be pushed down to allow vehicle to go into neutral. Vehicle would turn on, but the ac/heating system did not work, radio was shorting out and vehicle remained locked in Park. Check engine light came on after the sputtering and did not turn off. Vehicle was serviced the previous week at Dodge City McKinney with no reported issues of this caliber. Per dealership, codes are showing issues with the transmission and engine. Vehicle only has 9347 miles and if I had been on a major highway, I could have been severally injured when the vehicle stopped. Dealership, made no attempt to review the issue upon its arrival.

Power steering randomly goes out and random electrical issues and faulty sensors indicators. Vehicle has 8,000 miles I fear for my safety to safely operate this vehicle putting my life in danger and others on the highway.

Last night, my BRAND NEW car (Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited) tried to kill me. Driving down 1187 going 40 miles an hour, it came to a DEAD STOP, put itself in park and would not crank or start back up. All I could hear in the panic was screeching tires from cars trying not to hit me. The seatbelt also did not stop me and I was thrown into the steering wheel. My car has less than 900 miles on it. After a panic attack of EPIC proportions and a sleepless night, I immediately drove it to the dealership today and of course they can find NOTHING wrong with it. They are going to keep it a few days to double check a few things, but to say I will no longer be able to drive this car without SEVERE anxiety is an understatement. It has less than 1000 miles on it and I haven't even made my first payment. Trading it in, I will automatically lose $3100. If I don't trade it in, I don't think I would ever be able to get over the anxiety of driving it. Talk about a lose/lose situation. All I could think about is if I had been going faster and there had been more traffic, I could have KILLED someone including myself. Thank you to the kind salesman who, when I pulled up this morning, said "I love your car" and I proceeded to break down crying and hand him the keys and say you can keep it. He was so helpful in calming me and getting it checked out right away. I've owned it 21 days exactly. Honestly I am not sure I want to take the chance of it happening again.

Power steering is intermittently unavailable

Driving on a highway when I got multiole error messages on my dash informing me that my power steering was unavailable, blind spot was unavailable, AEB was unavailable, ACC was unavailable, as well as active lane management was unavailable- and to service these immediately. My dash continued to beep and filter through these error messages for the remainder of my drive. During this, none of these features were working- as well as my power steering not working. This is the second time this has happened. Both times at highway speeds. Appointment has been made at dealership to have it looked at.

Purchased new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Overland in December 2021. The SUV has 2900 miles on it. Since purchase, the auto park engages at random moments most recently today when pulling out of drive thru lane. I began to drive the jeep forward and it locked up and engaged park brake. This has happened on numerous occasions. I went to get in the Jeep a few days ago. Started the engine and the brake engaged itself before even putting the vehicle in reverse. The touch screen in the dash that controls all functions of the SUV including radio, car play, heat/cooling, vehicle settings will randomly shut off and go black while traveling. While using the paired phone setting when making a call, the speakers produce a swishing/scrubbing sound that will not stop while the call is in session. New today, the windshield washer fluid light is on and the fluid is full. Due to "staffing shortages," can't get the Jeep into the local dealer until March 11th to be examined. Such a joke for a $60K vehicle.

On several occasions, the vehicle lost power steering, making it difficult to maintain control.

The contact and wife own a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While at work, the contact's wife discovered that a vertical crack had formed on the bottom passenger’s side windshield without incident. The contact stated that the crack obstructed his and his wife's vision while driving. The contact's wife called an independent mechanic and a dealer and both informed her that they could not replace or program the windshield. She was then referred to another independent mechanic through the insurance provider who informed her that they could program the windshield; however, the replacement windshield for her model vehicle had not yet been released. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.

At a red light the auto start/stops shuts engine off and the emergency brake engages. It’s done this multiple times.

The power steering while driving turns off sporadically. You need to power off and power on the car to get it to come back. This is a safety issue for people that are not strong enough to handle a car without power steering. Jeep is stating there will be a module update sometime in the 1st qtr and not sure when that will be. They are also saying 1st qtr could mean end of May as they are on a different quarterly calendar.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The power steering system light has came on several times randomly since vehicle was purchased in November. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My families safety is at risk due to the loss of power steering and leaving us stranded unless we choose to drive the vehicle with the power steering light on. This is extremely unsafe for not only us but others on the road if we were to lose power steering causing an accident. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? It has been in for service once so far to determine the cause. The dealer did a software update but we are still experiencing the loss of power steering. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No it has not. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes the service power steering light was illuminated on the dash when the power steering went out. Problem first appeared in January 2022.

Occasionally start car and receive alert on dash stating the electronic power steering is unavailable and that lane management is unavailable. Vehicle has already been to dealership for another recall but it appears that the current issue still remains.

VECHICLE WAS PURCHASED ON 11/6/21 ATT SMITHHAVEN JEEP IN NYS. THE NEXT DAY I NOTICED SUBSTANSIAL CONDENSATION IN BOTH THE HEAD LIGHTS AND REAR BRAKE LIGHTS. I TOOK THE VECHICLE TO THE DEALER RIGHT AWAY AND THEY STATED "ITS NORMAL AND IT WILL GO AWAY", THAT BEING SAID I STILL HAVE THIS ISSUE AND IT HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. ON APPROX 12/13/21 THE VECHICLE'S RADIO FROZE AND I WAS UNABLE TO USE IT FOR SEVERAL DAYS. A MESSAGE PROMPTED ME TO CALL SIRIUS XM RADIO, HOWEVER THEY STATED IT WAS A VECHICLE ISSUE AND NOT A SATELITE RADIO ISSUE. I LOOKED UP ONLINE AND FOUND HOW TO HARD RESET RADIO AND I HAVE TO DO THAT OCCASIONALLY TO CLEAR THE UNRESPONSIVE RADIO. THE MOST RECENT ISSUE WAS A COMPLETE TRASMISSION FAILURE ON 2/1/22. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MOVE VECHICLE THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT GO FORWARD PAST THE 1ST GEAR AND WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE NEARLY CAUSING A MAJOR ACCIDENT. DEALER IS NOT PRIVY TO THIS ISSUE AND DOES NOT HAVE AN ETA FOR REPAIR. JEEP CORPRATE HAS BEEN CONTACTED WITH NO RESOLUTION. THIS WAS A MAJOR MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION AND THE VECHILE IS ONLY 3 MONTHS OLD WITH 2,300 MILES. I AM UNABLE TO UPLOAD PICTURES OR VIDEOS HOWEVER I HAVE THEM TO SUBMIT IF NEEDED.

Came out from an event with my family, tried to start my car. Wouldn’t start. When it did start a bunch of lights same came on. Power steering unavailable, as well as active lane assist needs service.

When I turn on my vehicle, the error message Power Steering Unavailable will come on. Once the error message occurs, I can barely turn the steering wheel when I am driving my car. Most times after my car has sat (while I am work), the message will clear and power steering will be available again. On average this has been occurring every other day. The Jeep dealership where I bought my car has deemed it undrivable and taken it off the road until the problem has been corrected. Also when this light comes on, the Active Lane Management warning light will come on and doesn't work either.

The power steering icon lit up on the dash saying to bring it in for service. Tbe steering felt labored. The vehicle had under 2000 miles on it. After driving around for about 30 mins and then turning it off and going into a store I css as me out turned in the vehicle and all was fine again. The lane departure icon also said it was unavailable. This seems to happen when the temperature is cold outside. There was also a yellow icon that looked like a car crash that lit up on another night and said to bring in for service emergency braking was unavailable. These is quite unnerving gvyo happen in a brand new vehicle. I have read of many others having similar issues with their grand Cherokee L

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 25 MPH, the "power steering unavailable, service required," appeared on the instrument panel. As she began to drive to the dealer, the "active lane management unavailable, service required" warning also appeared on the instrument panel. Once at the dealer, she was informed that a software update would be performed on the vehicle. Five days later, the "service four-wheel drive" warning message was illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the computer module was reset; however, the failure returned, and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer. A service tech informed the contact that he had been instructed to reset the computer module and that he knew that the reset would not correct the failure. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and the contact was given a case number. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 2,623.

I purchased this car on 1/12/2022. It immediately began to have issues, first a coolant leak and then a check engine light. I have been told the check engine light is related to RFH codes for passive entry and Chrysler cannot provide a a date for the software update . I am forced to forced to drive a brand new vehicle with a check engine light on, not knowing if it’s safe. I feel this is unacceptable, I see many stories of the same vehicle just shutting down while driving.

Starting in December of 2021 I had no power steering. It went out and the light came on in the dashboard. Then again January 6th it happened again while driving my daughter to school. At this point it’s the second time and I realize it’s an issue. I brought it to dealership. They ran codes couldn’t find anything. Said next time it happens to bring it right in when the light is on. It’s very intermittent. It randomly will have no power steering. So fast forward to a week later, Jan 16th it went out again. I immediately drove it to the dealership in the middle of a snowstorm ( with no power steering) they ran the codes and I showed them a pic of my dashboard. Said the 4 codes that popped up have no update or fix. I have had a loaner car since. It’s 1/31/2022 at this point. It’s been 2 weeks. They are telling me an update should be coming. So I am paying for a vehicle that is unsafe to drive and I don’t even have. Also an issue that has no fix! I can not drive a half an hour back and forth to work and back and forth to my daughters school and have no power steering. This vehicle is unsafe to drive!!! Dealership doesn’t seem to have a fix either. Each week they say an update is coming only to call a week later with the news there is no update. Meanwhile my brand new car is just sitting at the dealership in the parking lot. Same car that I’m paying on each month. That is too dangerous to drive.

The power steering is failing randomly on this new car with only about 8,000 miles. It mostly happens when it is colder and first thing in the morning. A message appears that says Power Steering Unavailable, Service Required. It also gives another error message that the lane departure assistance is not available, service required. I took the dealership, they claimed to fix it, and the next day, it had the same issue. They now have it and claim that only a software update can fix it. When the power steering is in a failed state the vehicle is harder to drive and does not have the lane assistance available.

On 1/28 my 2021 Grand Cherokee L with 658 miles suddenly did not have power steering. Leading up to this event, I warmed the car up for 10 minutes, then drove 1.5 miles to a nearby store without incident. Upon returning to the car, as I backed out of the parking spot, I noticed the power steering icon was lit on the dash and a warning message appeared saying power steering unavailable service required. I drove the 1.5 miles back home, parked the car, turned off the engine, let it sit for 5 minutes, then restarted the car and the same light and message appeared. The steering was difficult to manage, but fortunately I didn't need to drive very far and since I recognized the power steering was out, I was able to prepare for turns in advance. This could be a fatal flaw in the vehicle if driven at high speeds or if it were to happen unexpectedly while driving. On 1/29 I called the local dealer service department and scheduled an appointment for the first available time which is Monday 1/31. Upon starting the car this morning of 1/29, the light and message did not appear. I did not attempt to drive it. Upon reading Jeep forum threads, there are many other reports of the same problem. Jeep needs to quickly determine the cause of the issue and determine a sustainable resolution.

Incident occurred on 1/27, ~1,760 miles. V6, 4x4. Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited I started the car and a red steering wheel icon popped up on the dashboard. Then a message popped up saying "power steering unavailable, service required". I was still able to drive the car but steering felt very "heavy". I've only had the car for 2 months.

Upon starting my vehicle in the morning (4200 miles on odometer) the power steering warning indicator came on. I noticed the icon after attempting to back out of my garage and the steering wheel felt hard to turn. With the vehicle being hard to turn, this put myself and child at risk if I continued to drive. I drove my child to school and returned the vehicle to my garage. Approximately 2 hours later, I attempted to start my vehicle and the power steering warning light did not come back on.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle for more than 24 hours, the vehicle would not start up. The contact stated that the battery was constantly being drained. The contact was only able to start the vehicle in the morning after connecting a 1-amp charger to the battery. The contact stated that he contacted the dealer and it was suggested that the battery be replaced. The contact stated that the battery was replaced twice however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 11,000.

At 1321 miles Power steering went unavailable while driving, restarted car and it was still unavailable. Car now has 1700 Miles and have had the issue 7 times. Dealer can not get me in until Feb 15th, 2021. Which is unexceptionable. With no power steering other safety features are unavailable, like cruise control, lane senors and other. I’m making this claim hoping for a full recall on this issue. Many others having the same problem.

My power steering doesn't work. It happens when immediately turning the vehicle on. It makes it very difficult to turn the wheel when driving. I have tried to turn the vehicle off then restart but it stays on. The power steering light turns on and off as it pleases throughout the days/weeks. The vehicle has been inspected three times by the certified dealership. It first appeared in November 2021. Lane departure warning light comes in periodically causing the feature to not work.

The automatic braking system/parking collision system on our vehicle regularly causes it to slam on the brakes when the vehicle is in reverse, despite there not being any objects anywhere close to the vehicle. We have had this occur when we are trying to get out of oncoming traffic into a parking space, move out of the way of oncoming traffic into a driveway or parking garage, and when trying to back the car out of oncoming traffic to avoid a collision. This problem has been inspected by, and reproduced by, the dealer (Dishman Jeep in Spokane, WA). No other individuals have inspected the components causing this issue. There were no other warnings or symptoms of the problem before they appeared--just the slamming on of the brakes in reverse accompanied by a loud noise and message on the dash about potential collision, despite there being no objects or people anywhere close by.

What Component Failed: Power Steering & Lane Management. When Component Failed: 01/19/2022 at approx. 6:45am Car Available for Inspection?: YES Details: While driving from home to work this morning, the instrument cluster displayed an error message "Power Steering Unavailable Service Required" and a red warning light with a steering wheel and exclamation mark above it. I was traveling at approx. 55mph on the interstate. Because the power steering failed, the active lane management features also malfunctioned. Safety Impact: I was driving on the interstate at a high speed. Fortunately I was on a straight-away and had time to react for an upcoming turn/bend in the highway. Loss of power steering made it difficult to change lanes, merge, and make turns. This decreased safety by making it more difficult to control the vehicle. The lane management feature also malfunctioned and decreased safety. This features warns me if the car is crossing into another lane and also provides steering assistance to course correct when the driver doesn't respond fast enough. Because power steering and lane management failed, I had difficulty turning the vehicle and maintaining safe position in my lane, especially on curvy and high-speed roads. Inspection/Reproduction of Issue: The vehicle is currently at the dealer where it was purchased for inspection by the service dept. This issue has not been reproduced on this particular vehicle. However, this issue was confirmed and reproduced on another Grand Cherokee L I purchased in November 2021. The current vehicle I am reporting the issue for is a replacement car because the vehicle purchased in November 2021 also had the same issue with the power steering, lane departure and lane management.

The vehicle has Uconnect system with Bluetooth, WiFi, Apple Car play etc. The incoming volume on the connected device is always (let me repeat that with emphasis) ALWAYS at maximum. An incoming call literally blows you to the back seat with its volume. I have set it, saved it, set it again, saved it again….to no avail. At one point I was on a crowded interstate surrounded by traffic and the call nearly caused a crash. I have also researched this issue online, and I see hundreds upon hundreds of posts with the EXACT SAME COMPLAINT. And, before you can ask the question: YES I have tried ALL of those solutions, and absolutely none of them work. All of the online posts concern different Chrysler/jeep/Dodge vehicles with Uconnect systems. They all exhibit this issue. This one failure alone is enough to make the vehicle too dangerous for the road. It is so dangerous, that I am also filing a complaint with the NHTSA. From the online posts and my conversations with a local dealer, it is apparent that this is something Chrysler/Jeep has no interest in fixing. Perhaps a formal intervention from a regulatory agency is what’s required. It seems to affect many different models, so this Jeep is not an isolated incident.

I took my vehicle in for a recall on Saturday. I left with the auto start stop warning light on. They said the cable was fried and part was on back order, otherwise it was fully drivable. I started it for this first time since Saturday on Monday morning. I began to drive and the AEB immediately slammed on. Every warning light started to flash. Including the hazards. I had to unload my kids through the driver side, as the other doors wouldn’t open from inside or outside. The locks nor the windows would roll down. On the suspension it said to turn the engine on, however the engine was on.

my wife was driving. SUV was doing about 50 mph on highway. With left hand she hit the paddle shifter on the steering wheel. SUV went from auto trans mode to lower gear manual mode. Engine jump up in rpms, had to pull off road, stop car, restart car to get back into auto trans driving. This 2021 Grand Cherokee L has no way to disable the paddle shifters if you do not want to use them. This driving change can happen anytime, local or highway driving. You need to have them come up with software fix to disable paddle shifters.

Front Drive shaft broke off vehicle while driving at 45 mph and lost control of vehicle. Vehicle is available for inspection. The vehicle lost control and almost flipped over when the drive shaft broke off. Problem was confirmed by dealer. Manufacturer has not inspected vehicle they had the dealer send pictures. No warning lights appear on dash before or after the incident.

-The new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L-Limited was made to be a third, row off-road, all weather driven vehicle. #1: The front windshield is flush with the front pillars. This causes accumulated snow or off-road dirt to easily be pushed to the driver side window (with no way to wash off) and blocking the driver’s side mirror. This makes it impossible to to use the blind spot light on the side mirror. In my case, I had audio alarm turned off as not to wake the kids while driving across the country. So I had a couple of near misses until I was able to stop, clean the driver’s window and turn the blind spot alarm back on. This is not a big deal if driving in clear rain, just not off-road or snow. It’s available for inspection whenever needed. -Our safety was placed at risk by creating a blind spot, making my driver’s side mirror and sensor obsolete. This created me nearly striking the cars beside me. -I just returned from the dealership(Puyallup-Larsen Jeep)an hour ago and the staff admitted it was a flaw. They actually recommend I go buy some aftermarket window lip, that does not exist. It was disgraceful to say the least for them to admit a flaw and suggest I fix it on my own, after having my car for 8 hours and it having 3500 miles on it. -No warning lights other than the blind spot sensors activating that I could be sure was activated or not. #2: The third row seat over heated the phone charging cord, causing light cabin smoke and burning a slight hole in the gym bag. My 7 y/o twins were woken up and advised me she think she smelled smoke. I figured it was nothing, it a brand new vehicle. She said “something is burning Dad”. I turned the cabin light on as my 14 y/o said she now smelled something in the second row. I saw a light fog and immediately pulled over, ran to the back and yanked out the cord out of the car. The cord was overheated to my touch. The cord had burned the plastic bag the Happy Meal toy was inside. Available for inspection whenever.

VEHICLE LOCKS ARE NOT WORKING SAFELY. When locking doors on the vehicle the doors are easily opened when you pull the handle while sitting in the vehicle. All doors will open which is very dangerous especially since my grandkids sit in the back and can open the doors while the vehicle is in motion. I have a video showing the doors locked and i am able to open the doors when the vehicle is driving down the road.

Second incident in less than 2 months on Grand Cherokee L that has 2K miles. Vehicle experienced limp mode when stabilizer system malfunctioned when going 45mph. Began to stall and lost acceleration. Gas pedal was unresponsive. Second incident (~500 miles later) Power Steering Failure. Could not get vehicle out of garage. Luckily this malfunction did not occur on the highway. Was able to get it to dealer the next day and they fixed with software updates for only the effected power steering module. What other updates are needed and what happens if the braking system is next? I have lost all faith in Jeep’s ability to design a safe and reliable vehicle for my wife and 2 kids. My wife has anxiety driving her own car as well. The roll out of the L and Grand Wagoneer may be coming with potentially fatal flaws.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel was difficult to turn. The contact drove the vehicle to the residence, restarted the vehicle after waiting approximately one hour and functionality was restored. The contact stated that the power steering warning message was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer but was not diagnosed. The failure persisted. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and was awaiting a response. The failure mileage was approximately 27,000.

When driving at highway speeds, the front hood flutters up and down really fast, which is a huge distraction as it draws the drivers attention and when the sunlight hits it just right, it causes a flashing beam of light like a strobe effect in the drivers eyes.

Vehicle was left at dealer on 12/3 to address the infotainment screen gltiching and turning off and to address a recall. The dealer performed a software update and addressed the recall. I picked vehicle up on Saturday, 12/4. The infotainment screen flashed off again and I noticed the transmission shutters and bangs during a downshift and when I lift off the gas pedal. It was observed on Sunday, 12/5 that the nightvision images freezes and glitches while using.

When weather is 50F power steering light turn on, no power steering is available.

Rough shifts from 1st gear to 2nd gear. When making a a full stop transmission does hard kick.

While on the freeway, the left speakers went out and then the car slow down and would not accelerate. The car was able to roll to the emergency lane. The safety of myself and my son were at risk due to being on the freeway and the car slowed down without warning. Cars were blowing their horns. Also, the main screen which houses the back up camera and gps is not functioning. This issue was brought to the attention of the Jeep dealer about 2 weeks ago. I was informed that a part is needed. The part is expected around the 15th which is an inconvenience and safety concern..

The car lost communication with the Body Control Module causing multiple features to malfunction, including power steering, while we were on the road. It's a 2021 vehicle that we leased only 29 days prior to the incident. Yes, with multiple important features malfunctioning at once, we were at risk. Fortunately, we were not on a highway or driving in inclement weather or this would have been even more dangerous. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer after the incident. There were no prior warning signs and the problems came about rapidly.

On 11/11/21 I started vehicle and placed in drive to pull out of driveway. Upon moving the steering wheel became locked and would not allow me to steer. The “Service active dampening system “ warning came on along with “Service power steering”. I was able to put vehicle in reverse and back into driveway but the steering was still not functioning. After vehicle sat off for few minutes I restarted and appeared fine but check engine light came on. I took to dealer the same day. After 3 days they could only determine that the computer had shut down. No other explanation or resolution except that if happens again to have it towed there. What if this were to happen while driving at highway speed?

This vehicle has been involved in two significant front end accidents and a rear end accident and the airbags have failed to deploy on impact during all three accidents. Direct damage occurred to the bumpers of the vehicles during all three incidents as well.

The high beams do not light when turned on by pushing the left stalk forward. They do function if the left stalk is pulled back. But after about a minute they turn off again. I experienced this on a dark highway with no traffic or other lighting outside.

During the first 3,000 miles of owning the vehicle, on 3 separate occasions, the vehicle has failed to shift from first to second gear, appearing to get stuck in neutral. Because this is occurring when the vehicle is first beginning to accelerate this is happening when entering intersections, changing lanes, and crossing lanes causing the vehicle to rev while either coasting (due to the positive motion prior to shifting) or sit motionless when on-coming traffic is approaching. The only way to get the vehicle back in motion is to completely stop the vehicle (irrespective of the dangerous location) put the vehicle in park, then back in drive, and try accelerating again in hopes that the vehicle will shift on a second attempt. One one of the three occasions so far, this occurred while exiting a parking lot but before entering a changing lane on a busy street. On another occasion it caused me to get stuck on a blind curve. The issue occurs intermittently and to date I have not been able to get the dealer to remedy the issue. Their text msg response at TransitTowne Jeep Chrysler Dodge RAM in Elma, New York, is that "..there is no codes in the system and there is no updates available for the software. There is nothing to diagnose if there is no code and everything checks out in the system. ... The Jeep does have an 8 speed transmission that is all electronically controlled and it can take some getting used to." This is the response I received after dropping the vehicle off at 10 a.m. and receiving a call the same day that my car is ready to be picked up at exactly 1:03 p.m. (which included the time to perform an oil change, tire rotation, resolve a missing trim issue, and investigate an issue with the tailgate). The only warning was the beep that goes off when the car is in close proximity of an impact (due to the other cars approaching as I try to get the back in motion) but the warning is useless until I can get the car back in motion to avoid an impact.

After first rain back floorboards we're soaked and now there is a mildew smell. Car does not drive correctly when excelling, and electronics are working sometimes and not others.

Vehicle was purchased last month. Grand Cherokee L Altitude. Has <1,400 miles. Check engine light came on. Warning for Electronic stabilizer system. Lost acceleration. Vehicle stalled once coming to a stop. And then once I turned it back on and tried to drive, the vehicle would not accelerate over 25mph. Reset then car drove fine. But then incident occurred again. Glitchy software or modules. This should not occur in a BRAND NEW vehicle. Unsafe.

Ongoing software issues. The gauge cluster screen continues to glitch. Turning bright green or red/green vertical lines. RPM and MPH are still visibility but you lose all other functionality. Navigation on gauge cluster screen will get stuck in a loop, or flat out will not work/load. A few occasions have said the option is not available. Main console screen/system will randomly turn off and restart while driving. Bluetooth won’t hold a steady connection, kicks off randomly. Also, connection will create a clicking noise at times. Only way to stop it is to disconnect the device, turn off the car and reconnect to Bluetooth. Emergency call error notice when turning on vehicle. Approach lights randomly turn on/off when car is parked and keys are no where close to proximity. False warning lights pop up at night, flashing a red dog. Overall software system is very slow and unresponsive. I’ve taken the car into the shop to have them preform the “software recall” two times at separate dealership. Nothing has been fixed. I then allowed the dealership to keep my car for a week to troubleshoot. They claimed the problem had been fixed but I’m still experiencing issues. Took my car to the dealership 2 days after I picked it up, same issues. They were coming up on close and didn’t want to deal with the issue. The next morning the software bugged out again, took it back to the dealership and their “fix” was to factory reset the vehicle. I’ve been to the dealership a total of 4 times for this issue with no resolution. Jeep is unresponsive and does not care to fix the issues.

Sunroof shattered

While i was driving on slow moving traffic the engine was shut off, i select gear position to park and start the engine, that works but it happens few times,. Front passenger seat not align properly

Car does not down shift properly from 5th to 1st gear or shifts hard into upper gears causing the car to jerk or jolt into gear. The Sport mode engaged the steering becomes sloppy loose and car becomes unstable to maintain control, unless returned to auto mode. Dealership techs claim they cannot diagnose because the computer system does not show any error codes the repairs they have done are computer updates which were supposed to fix the transmission issues it did not. FCA Stellantis refuses to acknowledge the problem and has told the dealerships to not pull the car in for any work unless they can show computer code failure or they will not compensate the shop for any warranty work. Jeep knows there are many issues involving this model including engine shutting down while in motion and again refuse to warn Jeep owners this particular model puts them at serious risk for injuries and death if car fails while its being operated on freeways. Another major issue concerns usage of ACC the car can slam on brakes Inadvertently, or puts the car into neutral mode while traveling at speed limits up to 70mph. I have had my car in the shop over 6 times out of service for 18 days for the same problem, the dealers are being forced to cover up for the manufacturer for a faulty unsafe vehicle. The Technicians going so far as to blame the owner for operator error, yet the problem remains. This car is a menace and should be recalled.

My partner, and I bought a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee L together. It was our celebration purchase to mark the start of our ability to finally blend our families and move our future forward. We bought the car because it’s a 6 seater, we have four kids and the two of us. Less than two weeks into the purchase She was driving down the highway when she heard a massive explosion from above and thought that she’d been shot. She could hear the glass rain down on her so she called the police and pulled over. She then called me panicked and upset. I knew the moment that she started to explain what had happened that the sunroof had popped / shattered not being able to withstand torsion within the normal flex of a large suv roof. I’d heard about this before as I had been cautious about purchasing a larger vehicle with a panoramic sunroof. I had researched it before buying my truck. But never experienced a sunroof explosion nor knew anyone that had had it happen. Immediately after consulting with state police and DOT (the searched for debris to cause the shatter and found none) we drove the vehicle immediately back to the dealership where we’d purchased the car a week or so before. Everyone at the dealership was extremely accommodating and immediately without question got us into a rental vehicle without worry of cost. Unfortunately the rental is only a five seater. That was mid August. Now in mid October we’re being told by Jeep that it wasn’t their fault and that we should pay for this, but that they’re doing us a favor by covering it under warranty. We’ve asked Jeep to get us into a new vehicle or refund us as they’re telling us it will take another 6-8 weeks for the part to get to the dealer. We’ve made 2 payments to a car that we don’t have and about to make another. Yet Jeep won’t reimburse us for the inconvenience. Truthfully she or I won’t ever be comfortable driving that vehicle again as we were extremely fortunate no one was hurt by shattered glass

While traveling at approximately 60 mph, the vehicles automatic braking engaged while no vehicles, people, or other items were in the vicinity of the vehicle. On a separate occasion, while traveling at approximately 20 mph, turning into a gas station, the automatic break engaged in the middle of the road. There were no other vehicles, people, or other items in the vicinity of the vehicle.

THE FRONT COLLISION WARNING ENGAGED DRIVING ON A SHARP CURVE WITH NO VEHICLE IN VIEW CAUSING AN UNNECESSARY AND DANGEROUS BREAK EVENT. ALL ISSUES, EXCLUDING THE LAST REPORTED TO FCA DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF TIMES NEW VEHICLE HAS BEEN OUT OF COMMISSION (30+ DAYS) WHEN PURCHASED BRAND NEW.

Lane keeping assistance fails and disengages mid trips. The vehicle is then allowed to drift to other lanes without correct or alert.

Sometimes when first started and other times while driving, the main touch screen dies and certain functionality is lost though the car is still drivable. Everything controlled by the touch screen stops (radio, cameras, heating/cooling) but blinkers do not work, front wipers turn on and can't be turned off, high beams turn on and off, and cruise control turns on and off. If this happens while driving, a message saying "SOS Call unavailable. Please visit an authorized dealer" pops up. If it happens when the engine is first started, nothing appears on the screen.

As I was driving the suv completely turnoff and would not let me turn it back on for a couple of seconds. Pulled into a parking lot and turned off again. This is very dangerous, and scary.

High Beam headlights don't work when the headlight switch is in AUTO mode. Problem has been confirmed with Bozak Motors in Merrillville and they advised that there is a bulletin out advising them not to attempt repair as engineers are working on issue. Further research on my own reveled that they have 3 other of the same vehicles on lot with same issue. Seems like a safety issue when driving at night down country roads

Two separate incidents, my Grand Cherokee L has less than 100 miles on it. I pulled into a drive thru restaurant and the vehicle completely shut off, still in drive mode. Then 5 minutes later I went to pull into a parking spot, I put the vehicle in park, then it shut off again.

The accelerator throttle be became stuck in open throttle and an error message came on. I pushed the brakes it eventually stopped after like 5 seconds and slowed down when the error message came on and eventually came to a crawl, it was stuck ⅘ of the way, but if I pushed it further it would not go. It was in track mode and I was using the paddle shifters. So I pulled over, stopped, and put it in park and restarted and it was fine. There were no symptoms prior to the issue. This was the first time it happened. It has not been inspected. It is available for inspection upon request. I had two other people in the car and no cars infront of me so I was fortunate, there could have been an accident.

On 7/29/2021, approximately 2pm, driving on Front Hall Rd. leading to our home. Reduced speed to between 15/20 MPH in order to slow down and prepare to turn right into our driveway. Suddenly, the engine shutdown. I had no brakes or power steering. The car came to a stop on its own, since nothing was working. A sign on the computer screen can on stating to put the car in park and restart the car. About an hour later I got the car to service department at I-10 Jeep, Ram dodge in Indio CA.. Today I called to get an update on my car. They said, service was calling Chrysler about the problem. They also said, one of their manager was driving a new grand cherokee L mode like mine and he had same problem with the engine shutting down. They did a computer update on his car, but it continued with engine shut down on test driving it. They advised that a factory rep. would be at the dealership on August 2nd or 3rd to review the problem. This is a serious safety concern when the engine shuts down while moving. Luckily, I wasn't traveling at a higher speed in heavy traffic when the engine shut down occurred. My car has below 400 miles. I purchased the car on July 15, 2021.

On three separate occasions on the same trip, the engine simply shut off at freeway speeds, requiring me to navigate to the shoulder. This was extremely dangerous as there was no propulsion control to avoid other traffic and no warning that it would happen. This is a brand new car with under 3,000 miles. No warning lights came on and all gauges were at normal range. When placed back in park, the engine restarted. Research reveals that for many years Jeep and Chrysler vehicles have displayed similar problems, resulting in numerous recalls and many Lemon Law lawsuits. The dealer has the car and is conducting an inspection.

Driving Jeep and engine stop, only had steering no brakes fortunately our speed was less than 10 miles per hr and we were in a parking lot. There is only about 770 miles on vehicle and we’ve owned the Jeep 3 weeks. Our concern is what would of happen if we were in heavy traffic, it was rush hour at the time? The dealer is picking up car tomorrow but that doesn’t fix our concerns!

I WAS DRIVING MY NEW GRAND CHEROKEE WITH 121 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. AS I WAS MOVING FORWARD WITH THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND WAS ATTEMPTING TO TURN AROUND TO- RE-ENTER A HIGHWAY THE ENGINE STOPPED. I IMMEDIATELY PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE NUMEROUS TIMES WITH NO LUCK. THE VEHICLE WAS STUCK IN PARK WITH THE WHEELS TURNED TO THE LEFT. THE REST OF THE ELECTRONICS WORKED BUT THE THE VEHICLE LOCKED IN PARK IT COULD NOT BE MOVED. THIS REPRESENTS AN EXTREME HAZARD TO THE MOTORING PUBLIC AS IF I HAD GONE 10 FEET FURTHER AND THE ENGINE STALLED I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE ENGINEERING BY JEEP. TWO TOWING COMPANIES ATTEMPTED TO UNLOCK THIS VEHICLE FROM PARK WITH NO SUCCESS. VERY HAZARDOUS AND DISAPPOINTING WORK BY CHRYSLER.

WHEN I SHIFT THE TRANSFER CASE IN TO NEUTRAL, FOR TOWING BEHIND MY RV, AND THEN PUT THE TRANSFER CASE BACK IN TO GEAR SO I CAN DRIVE THE JEEP THE POWER STEERING IS INOPERABLE FOR 20-30 MINUTES. IF I HAD AN EMERGENCY THE JEEP WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO BE DRIVEN FOR THAT TIME PERIOD. THE LOCAL JEEP DEALER CAN NOT FIND ANY CODES INDICATING A PROBLEM. I HAVE SINCE TEST DRIVEN OTHER 2021 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES AND FOUND THE SAME PROBLEM

JUST GOT A BRAND NEW 2021 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED X FOR LEASE TWO DAYS LATER NOTICED THE TRANSMISSION IS STALLING ENGINE IS STALLING THERE IS NO POWER WHEN I HIT THE GAS THE CAR DOESN'T GO. IT HAPPENED IN MOTION ON THE STREET.

I STOPPED ON A SLIGHT FORWARD FACING HILL, PUT THE CAR INTO P FOR PARK SO IT WAS STATIONARY, AND TURNED IT OFF. I GOT OUT, AND WALKED AROUND THE CAR TO OPEN THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE DOOR TO LET MY SON OUT. THEN AFTER ABOUT 1 MINUTE OF BEING PARKED CORRECTLY, THE CAR STARTED ROLLING FORWARD DOWN THE HILL ON ITS OWN (NOTE THAT THE WHEELS WERE TURNING SO THE CAR WAS NOT SLIDING). LUCKILY I GOT MY SON OUT, AND THEN THE CAR STOPPED ON ITS OWN AFTER ABOUT 30 YARDS (UNCLEAR IF IT STOPPED AS THE BRAKES ENGAGED AGAIN OR THE HILL WAS SOT ENOUGH THAT IT STOPPED ON ITS OWN).
