Deferred Failure Risk

Components and defects approaching or past their known service milestones

82/100
Critical Deferred Risk
Critical deferred failure risk — 5 safety-critical or high-cost components are past their service interval. Without immediate attention, repair costs will compound significantly.
No odometer data on record. Mileage is estimated at ~132,000 mi based on average annual driving. Items marked EST. OVERDUE may already be due — verify service history with the seller. Items marked OVERDUE are confirmed past-due based on vehicle age alone.
EST. OVERDUECriticalTiming Chain Tensioner
Service interval: 10 yr · Vehicle age: 11 yr · Past due by age
Service Timing Chain Tensioner immediately — already past the 120,000 mi / 10 yr interval
Worn chain tensioners cause timing chain skip or snap — common on GM 5.3L/6.2L, Ford EcoBoost, VW/Audi EA888, BMW N47/N63. Listen for cold-start rattles.
EST. OVERDUECriticalWater Pump
Service interval: 8 yr · Vehicle age: 11 yr · Past due by age
Service Water Pump immediately — already past the 100,000 mi / 8 yr interval
Water pump failure causes rapid overheating. If the engine overheats even once, head gasket damage is likely — turning a $400 part into a $3,000+ repair.
EST. OVERDUEHighTransmission Fluid / Service
Service interval: 5 yr · Vehicle age: 11 yr · Past due by age
Service Transmission Fluid / Service immediately — already past the 60,000 mi / 5 yr interval
Degraded transmission fluid destroys clutch packs and solenoids. CVT transmissions are especially sensitive — neglected fluid can result in a $4,000–$8,000 replacement.
EST. OVERDUEHighDifferential / Transfer Case Fluid
Service interval: 4 yr · Vehicle age: 11 yr · Past due by age
Service Differential / Transfer Case Fluid immediately — already past the 50,000 mi / 4 yr interval
On 4WD/AWD vehicles, neglected differential or transfer case fluid causes metal-on-metal wear. Replacement costs $1,500–$4,000.
EST. OVERDUEHighCoolant Flush
Service interval: 5 yr · Vehicle age: 11 yr · Past due by age
Service Coolant Flush immediately — already past the 100,000 mi / 5 yr interval
Degraded coolant loses corrosion inhibitors and attacks aluminum engine components. Can cause head gasket failure and water pump corrosion.
EST. OVERDUEModerateSpark Plugs (iridium/platinum)
Service interval: 8 yr · Vehicle age: 11 yr · Past due by age
Service Spark Plugs (iridium/platinum) immediately — already past the 100,000 mi / 8 yr interval
Worn spark plugs cause misfires that can foul and crack catalytic converters. A $150 tune-up can prevent a $1,200 catalytic converter replacement.
EST. OVERDUEModerateFuel Injectors
Service interval: 10 yr · Vehicle age: 11 yr · Past due by age
Service Fuel Injectors immediately — already past the 120,000 mi / 10 yr interval
Dirty or failing injectors cause rough idle, reduced fuel economy, and increased emissions. Cleaning costs $100–$200; replacement $800–$1,600.

ODI #11705737SERVICE BRAKES

My husband test drove a 2015 Audi A7 Prestige at National City Auto Center, 1800 National City Blvd, National City, CA 91950. The brakes are unsafe: the pedal goes all of the way to the floor and the car does not stop immediately when pushed. Front brakes are new, rear brakes are extremely worn, and brake fluid is extremely full. The dealership provided an inspection check list from an undisclosed shop, but the issue persists. The general manager, Karl Albright, refused to acknowledge our concerns. The car has been on the lot for 60+ days, and selling it in this condition is dangerous. The general manager tried to hide the fact that the car had been on the lot so long. I request that authorities review this vehicle before it is sold.

THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG SENSOR GOES ON AND OFF REPEATEDLY, EVEN WHEN AN ADULT SITS IN THE SEAT, THE AIRBAG SAYS IT IS OFF, THEN GOES ON, THEN GOES OFF AND ON AND ON I HAVE FOUND THAT AUDI A7 2015 HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE BUT WHEN I CHECK WITH AUDI SERVICE THEY SAY MY MODEL IS NOT RECALLED. I HAVE THE ISSUE AND MY PASSENGERS LIVES ARE AT STAKE. THIS IS AN $80,000 CAR THAT IS 5 YEARS OLD, THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING AND IS THE EXACT ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR MY MODEL, YEAR AND MAKE. WHY IS MY CAR NOT RECALLED?? PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS RECALL, THE CURRENT RECALL YOU HAVE IS NOT COMPREHENSIVE ENOUGH AND LIVES ARE AT STAKE, AUDI WILL NOT HELP THEY DENY IT AND ARE REQUIRING ME TO PAY OVER $2000 TO FIX THEIR FAULT AIRBAGS WHICH YOU HAVE ALREADY SAID IS RECALLED. *TR

ODI #11220887STEERING

TAKATA RECALL I'M EXPERIENCING A VERY ANNOYING SQUEAKING NOISE EVERY TIME I TURN MY WHEEL LEFT OR RIGHT. THE NOISES ARE COMING FROM MY STEERING COLUMN AND I THINK THIS SHOULD REALLY BE A RECALL TO HAVE REPLACED AS MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 40,000 ON IT.

ODI #11123342ENGINE

LOW OIL LIGHT IN BETWEEN SERVICE PERFORMED BY DEALERSHIP REQUIRING 1-2 QUARTS OF OIL. LOSES POWER/ACCELERATION WHEN NEEDED 'STALLS'. THESE WHERE ALL SYMPTOMS LEADING UP TO THE ENGINE KNOCKING DUE TO TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER DEFECT. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION CURRENTLY ON 2.0 AUDIS AND THEY ARE ON THEIR 5TH VERSION OF THE DEFECTIUVE TENSIONER. SUPPOSEDLY CORRECTED THE ISSUE WITH LATEST VERSION. CLEARLY THATS NOT THE CASE. SPOKE WITH DEALER SERVICE MANAGER AND AUDI OWNE CARE AND GOT THE RUN AROUND. PLANNING ON OPTING OUT IF NEED AND FILE SEPERATLY FOR 3.0 OWNERS.

ODI #11081812SERVICE BRAKES

BRAKE ROTORS WARP EASILY CAUSING VIBRATION. THE DEALER TELLS ME THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS. THEY AGREED TO PAY HALF OF THE $1200 COST TO REPAIR THEM. AUDI FORUMS HAVE NUMEROUS POSTS ON THIS YET AUDI DOESN'T TAKE 100% RESPONSIBILITY FOR REPAIRS. MY CAR HAD ONLY 19000 MILES WHEN I PURCHASED IT SO IT OCCURRED SOMETIME BEFORE THAT. ACCORDING TO THE FORUMS WARPING HAS OCCURRED AS EARLY AS 12000 MILES.
