The paint (white orchid pearl) is peeling down to the metal on three of the doors. I did have a spot on the roof repaired during the extended 7 year warranty. But this current problem happened after the warranty expired.

Further attempts to drive showed engine would fail past 2000 rpm. • Failure occurred accelerating into traffic, risking collision. • The failure was diagnosed by Coggin Honda Orlando as an In - Tank Fuel Pump Low Pressure Remove and Replace. • UNKOWN if dealer referred issue to manufacturer. • No warning lamps, messages or symptoms of the problem appeared prior to failure. The start/stop switch on my 2015 Honda Fit failed — a known defect acknowledged by Honda through Service Bulletin A20-098. The contact owns a 2015 Honda Fit. The contact stated that while driving 45-50 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated, with the gear shift indicator light in neutral(N), and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with ignition software failure. The mechanic replaced the ignition switch. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving 35-45 MPH, approximately four to five days later, the warning lights illuminated, the gear shift indicator light was in reverse(R), and the vehicle suddenly stalled in the middle of the roadway. The vehicle was pushed into the driveway of the contact's son. The contact stated that the incident was significantly frightening because the contact was a disabled heart patient, and there were two plates in the contact's neck due to a previous accident. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that there were metal shavings in the transmission, and the mechanic determined that the failure might be due to a pulley shaft fracture. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced, but the mechanic could not perform the repair. The vehicle was then taken to the independent mechanic where it was purchased; however, no assistance was provided. The dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired for free because the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.
Odometer screen, which includes mileage, fuel gauge, time and any check engine information, will regularly blink, appear blank, show unreadable characters or a combination of the three on mornings with an external temperature of 60 F or below. Reading up on Honda Fit forums, it appears to be faulty hardware and/or poor solder joints that are cracking. My gauge cluster comes on and off when it feels like it I owned the car for 5 years about its been this way I got it checked by the honda dealer 2/20/2026 their diagnosis is it having an internal failure I am not sure why it has no recall I feel its due to poor soldering from the manufactur I am the second owner of this car please help

The gauge will also do what I like to call hieroglyphic numbers, essentially unreadable lettering clearly due to an electrical malfunction. This is very distracting as a driver and has put me in a very near death experience from the fault. This problem makes it impossible to read the fuel quantity during or before operation of the vehicle. It has been confirmed by dealer that the fault is due to a damaged solder and has been clear that this is a common issue with most Honda fits.

The contact owns a 2015 Honda Fit. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the transmission warning light started flashing and the vehicle failed to properly accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the local AAMCO Transmission Service Center who diagnosed that the transmission drive pulley had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. Many other Honda Fit owners and I have had the same problem of the odometer and fuel gauge not displaying correctly. The soldering pins crack or come loose over time. This leads to failure to tell if you have enough gas in the car. This also leads to failure to show an accurate odometer reading. The odometer and fuel gauge display is digital and the screen often will glitch out and display a jumble of letters and numbers. Sometimes the odometer and fuel gauge display nothing at all. In these cases, you simply have to hope you have enough gas to get to where you need to go. This is a critical safety issue as someone could run out of gas in the middle of fast highway traffic without knowing. This is also an odometer issue because the odometer can sometimes show the wrong number for the total amount of miles driven on the car.
My Honda Fit was purchased new in Portland, Oregon. I am the original owner. I began having issues that are documented after moving to Florida, and took the car to Honda in Palm Bay. The issues were grinding noise at the first start of the day, or after sitting for several hours and then restarted. The noise is noticed upon start in am or 1st start and is a grinding noise from the motor area. It sounds like a knock/grinding, like the motor is starting and has no oil in it. But the oil level is okay and it is not out of oil. This continues today, after being at the same dealer several times. The service department stated that they needed me to leave the car overnight to try to diagnose the issue after the car sat all night because the noise only comes after sitting all night or long periods. I left the car more than once at the dealership. The dealer in Palm Bay stated "they were unable to re-produce the knocking/grinding that has been occurring since about 11,000 miles. The car is still grinding or knocking and after taking to another dealer in Tampa, Fl I was told it was a DTC and they refused to fix it. It is now just over mileage under warranty, and was there for the grinding and a recall for the start stop switch which is now faulty again, or that wasn't the issue leaving me stranded. The car has several issues that are recall related that were supposed to be fixed and are nor. The plug coil tops The start stop run switch to start car- was replaced in 7/2022 and now I cant drive the car again.
Engine Control Module failed, all warning lights come on, gauges turn off. Engine Control Module failure can cause the car to function erratically and even stall while driving.

recall notice for starter system, took in for repair, part in notice replaced but car now not starting again and had starter system lights on again. As per service records car has has the problems since 2016/17 while under warranty and recall repair done at Honda. The “ grinding” knock/tap noise from engine has never been repaired and until 7/2023 Honda was “ unable to diagnose” it. Westshore Honda- Tampa diagnosed it as “ VTC” ( which is inside the motor) and other folks have had the well documented problem The no start is seemingly with the electrical system, per Honda service records and switch replaced when in for recall repair in 7/23 as well but car again having same problem. I’m unable to drive car.
Digital odometer randomly glitches out and sometimes completely blanks out. I am not able to view my fuel gauge at all nor see mileage. There are no other electrical problems as I just had my battery checked so I don’t know the cause of this as it doesn’t always happen while driving. This has happened randomly several months ago and started up again.
This has to do with the seatbelt retractor lock malfunctioning (not unlocking after being given back belt on slack). I have not reported to a dealer or police, but am happy for someone to inspect my vehicle. There were no warnings before this happened. My 9 year old child was in the back seat (passenger side) wearing the car seat belt, sitting in her booster seat. She was trying to remove her soccer kit to put on her bathing suit. The seat belt became wrapped around her body and twisted, cinching up at her waist. The retractor became locked and would not release any belt back out. Initially she had a fair amount of slack. I helped to release any tension from the line and fed back in about 2" of seat belt slowly without any tension, and then slowly tried to pull back out, but the retractor stayed locked. I attempted this several more times allowing >1" of belt back into the retractor at lest 3 times, but the locking mechanism never release, and the belt became dangerously tight on her abdomen. Eventually, my spouse came and held the belt in place (so it couldn't retract more) while I had my child curl up in a ball and I turned her whole body upside down to release the twist in the belt at her waist, and she was finally able to crawl free. It was very distressing that the standard mechanism for releasing the retractor lock (feeding the retractor more seat belt without tension, then slowly trying to pull some back out) was not working and there was no safety mechanism to release the lock.

Defective Driver Seat Airbag
The paint on my car is chipping off in huge chunks. It is painted with the NH788P the White Orchid Pearl Tricoat. I saw online that I was not the only one with this issue. The severity of this paint chipping can cause my car to rust out and it's outrageously costly to repaint the vehicle.
I see there is a recall related to a fault that may prevent the rearview camera image from booting up and being displayed on the dash for 2017 - 2020 Fits. While relatively uncommon, this also happens on my 2015 Fit. In addition, sometimes the Lane Watch feature shows the backup camera instead of the right side of the car when activated. This has happened for 10 years but only a handful of times per year. It generally corrects by shutting the car off and restarting it after a minute. It seems as the problem is not specific to the 2017 - 2020 Fit as I'm also having this issue.
Fuel gauge/trip meter intermittently inoperative (blank or shows gibberish). When the fuel gauge and trip meter are inoperative, it’s not possible to determine the level of fuel in the tank. In this condition, the vehicle could run out of fuel without warning, causing an engine stall condition. If the engine stalls while the vehicle is being operated on a public highway, this condition increases the likelihood of a collision resulting in injury or death.
Right rear passenger window spontaneously shattered. I heard a loud pop while driving. Didn’t see any damage when I returned home a few minutes later. About an hour later when I was pulling out of my garage the window simply shattered for no apparent reason. I took car to ACE auto glass for repair an they put a new window in but the regulator needs replacing an Geico is taking there time about processing my claim. I don’t have paperwork on repair as it hasn’t been completed. I do have pictures of broken window.
While driving. the engine failed. Loss of power, smoke. Would not start. Entire engine compartment covered with oil. Car towed to mechanic. Who said a hole had been blowout the size of a fist. Engine would have to be replaced.
P219alA code appears; supposed fuel injector issue after trying smaller fixes (MAF sensor, air filter) with no luck. Just purchased from local dealer a few weeks ago.
The floor of the driver seat and the floor of the front passenger seat continuously flood after it rains. I have dried the floors with a vacuum and checked for any potential leaks or blockages. However, I cannot find any blockages or leaks that are causing the floors of the car to flood, and it continues to flood after it rains. Besides the floors, nothing else is wet--the seats themselves are dry, and the steering wheel and dashboard all look dry. I am worried this water can lead to the floors rotting or retaining water and having mold--which will be a health concern.
Digital fuel gage and odometer flickers intermittently or displays incorrect information
Main display that shows mileage, gas levels, maintenance needs, etc malfunctions - sometimes it goes wonky, sometimes it disappears altogether. It is obviously not safe to not see your maintenance lights or mileage to know when to predict the maintenance. The dealer I take the car to said unless they could replicate the issue, they couldn't do anything. The issue occurs intermittently, often in the middle of a drive, but not currently constant. There are many many other people tho on Honda forums who have this problem also, and theirs is constant, so it's just a matter of time for mine to be constant as well. The issue started earlier this year. There is no error code associated with it so there is no diagnosis for the dealer to give it.
Over last 2-3 years (50-70k miles), intermittent but now more consistent and loud grinding sound that lasts <1 second after push to start. Only occurs typically on a cold start (after engine has been sitting >12 hours, typically in garaged/cooler ambient temperature). Otherwise no issues with performance, no error messages. This is a known issue with VTC actuator (Honda released TSB 16-088) for this. I was told by the dealer that this can lead to catastrophic failure with the engine as it relates to the timing belt and the drivetrain. I was quoted $2100 for this repair. If it is true that there is a known defect that can lead to catastrophic failure, this should be covered by an extended warranty or recall.
My check engine light came on, but shut off by the time I was able to see a repair shop. I needed a smog, but they decided to check my car first to see why the light came on and went away. It had to do with the fuel injector/catalytic converter. He wanted me to drive it a bit and come back to see if it would go away. It did not, even though my lights remained off and the car was operating fine. Had I not needed the smog check, I would have canceled the appointment and not known. After doing research, it is common for fuel injectors on my car to fail due to a faulty part. Honda issued an extended warranty, but even after calling for more information, they were unhelpful. I ended up paying $3,000 to resolve this. My car is a 2015 and just hit 85k miles. Honda should be informing owners of this issue.
There is a very loud clunking or loud clicking sound coming from the front right brakes. I took the vehicle to the dealership to be looked at 4 times and the final determination was it was a brake clicking which the service advisor described as normal. The noise is so loud specially when cold it feels like something is going to break at some point. He said the manufacturer did this on purpose to keep the brakes from overheating. I have done some research and it has happened to many other Honda owners as well. It just feels so unsafe to drive a vehicle with that noise every time you drive it specially when its brakes related.
Before I parked, all was fine and the car felt safe, two hours later, I start the car and it has four warning lights on. Now I don't have Hill Start Assist and the car feels like it might 'go out' on me, I think something will keep it from running soon. About two weeks prior, even with keys in the car and with a full battery in both the keys and car, the car doesn't start with the first push of the 'engine start' button (maybe there is a connection here). O'Reilly helped me check the codes, and it states that I should replace the Ignition Coil, as well as the Throttle Body and it is giving the code, P0303: Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected. After some research online, it seems like the Fuel Injectors might need to be replaced as the ones that come with Honda tend to malfunction. Perhaps the TSBs (www.truedelta.com/Honda-Fit-tsbs-99,2015) should be put into consideration. I believe this is what has caused the Hill Start Assist to stop working which further makes me feel like the vehicle is unsafe to drive for me and for others. We are both put at risk because I am not sure what will happen with it next. I live where there are a lot of hills, Hill Start Assist was a huge factor as to why I thought this car would be safe to drive here. I have yet to visit a Dealer or Independent Service Center. The Vehicle has been inspected by O'Reilly's Code Scanner only and myself. In the attached pictures, one is showing the warning lights that now come on at the start of the car, and the other is showing about a minute later how another light turns on.
The contact owns a 2015 Honda Fit. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle started decelerating. Additionally, while the accelerator pedal was depressed, the engine revved, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V574000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 108,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Honda Fit. The contact stated while his daughter was driving 40 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power, and there were abnormally loud sounds coming from the engine. The contact's daughter was able to drive to her residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for an oil change; however, the mechanic diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the variable valve timing control (VTC) actuator was damaged, causing metal fragments to damage the engine. The dealer diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.
my fuel gauge display went out. Pretty much always at least once a trip. Sometimes it starts when I turn the car on, sometimes it's after I've driven 20 miles. The display stays backlit, but all the information (time, fuel gauge, odometer, temp) disappears.
The fuel guage/mileage/mpg display flickers on and off intermittently. Sometimes it displays properly, sometimes it displays gibberish and sometimes nothing at all. There really is no correlations to be made as to why it is doing this, it can happen any day at any time or not at all. 2015 Honda Fit
In cold temperatures the LCD screen in the vehicle’s gauge cluster will report corrupted information or display none at all. This is the only method of viewing the vehicles odometer. Therefore, it is impossible to tell the vehicle’s mileage under certain (cold) conditions. This issue is caused by cracking solder points on a logic board and is a well-known fault of this generation of vehicle, meaning there are a wide array of 3rd generation Honda Fits that fail to properly report their proper Odometer mileage.
Driving down the highway yesterday at 75 mph. Car said check starter system. Started blinking. All dash lights and system turned off then on then off again. Power steering went off. Car died while going 75 mph. Abs system went down with it too. Had to hard steer and shift down. Parked on side of highway on shoulder. Towed to mechanic who said it's the alternator. Fit has about 125000 miles on it. The start switch was replaced 3 times recall then faulty by Honda dealership. Then the starter needed to be replaced by Honda dealership. Then the battery twice by O'Reilly. Now the alternator by my mechanic. This is not usual for Hondas to have to replace all of those. Seems as though this is a faulty starter system manufacturing. I could've died, had I not been trained by the military on what to do if vehicle lost power.
While waiting at a light I had difficulty accelerating when it turned green. Car started bucking and I made it home and backed the car in the driveway. Turned it back on, put it in drive and then tried to back up and it wouldn't. Had the car towed to a local Honda dealership where it was diagnosed that the transmission was shot. My car only had 95,000 miles on it, I am the original owner and have been vigilant with all maintenance and any repairs. I reached out to Honda Corporate to lodge a complaint with the hopes that they might assist with the repair. Honda refused and I ended up paying $5600 for the transmission to be replaced. I would like to add that it took a month for the dealership to obtain the transmission because Honda was out of them which I find interesting. The transmission was on backorder so how many other Hondas had the same problem? My argument was that there was a recall on transmissions on some Fits and Civics from 2015 but my VIN fell outside of the parameters of that recall. After the transmission failure, I disagree. This was the second Fit I had purchased as I had a great experience with my first one. I will never purchase another Honda vehicle after the way that they dismissed my concerns.

COTACTED THE LOCAL DEALER AND SINCE I WAS NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER THEY WONT FIX IT. VERY DISPOINNTED WITH HONDA LOAST CAR TO BUY AS HONDA. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Was in a car accident and was hit very hard and the seat belts didn't lock me in place and the air bags did not deploy

The instrument cluster is failing on my vehicle which causes the digital display that shows mileage and gas levels start off blank then as the vehicle warms it starts flickering and causes visibility issues as that is very distracting and could cause seizures to those sensitive to flickering. This also prevents drivers from knowing gas levels which causes drivers to be stranded on the side of the road or have the vehicle just turn off while driving due to no gas. The vehicle is available for inspection and I have videos of the issues as does many others having the same issue. I have videos of the issue but they are not allowing me to upload maybe due to file type. The flickering can cause seizures as well as being distracting which could cause accidents. Not having any way to determine gas level or mileage also is a safety issue as there is no way to know how much fuel is in the vehicle which could cause drivers to be stranded or vehicle to quit working while driving. I have taken my vehicle in to Norm Reeves Honda and Honda of Denton for this issue numerous times and provided them videos of the issues but they stated they couldn’t reproduce it until the extended warranty went out and now the finally are able to reproduce it and confirm it needs replaced. It has been inspected the the Honda dealerships There was no warning it just started happening out of the blue about 3 or 4 years ago. The first time it happened I went to back out and a start system error came up and the car turned off and lost all power. I almost crashed into my carport as I could not even steer. I haven’t had that happen again but the display issues continue to happen.
Power steering shuts off while driving randomly. It happened several months ago first. Was able to pull over and restart car and steering returned. But it happened 3 times in one day. We took it in to the dealership. They said that the entire steering column should be replace to fix the issue but they weren’t sure that it would fix the issue. We opted to wait since the steering column was on a back order. They replaced the start stop button that same trip. That seemed to fix the steering issues. We didn’t have any more issues until today when the weather go cold again. The power steering gave out and won’t come back on. 11/17/2022. Now we are faced with a steering column replacement but they aren’t even sure that is the issue. The column is on back order and they can give no indication on how long it would be to get here. Meanwhile we are out a car and no one seems to know what the issue truly is.
My cluster have been working rarely lately only when is cold outside it will not display the numbers or my gas level, which is awkward because I can run out of gas and not know.
While driving the odometer and gas gauge intermittently shut off or glitches to be unreadable. This happened approximately 5 times during a 5 mile trip. It eventually returned to normal.
The display on the instrument panel that shows the fuel status, odometer, maintenance warnings/issues (such as low tire pressure) goes out, often for extended periods (ie: 15-20 minutes at a time). This occurs more so during colder months. I have contacted the local Honda dealer (Priority Honda in Hampton, Virginia) this morning and was told the price to replace the part would be $996.00 + labor. If you google complaints about this issue, there are many. I believe this is a safety issue, and this vehicle should be recalled. Photo of issue attached.

Every morning during cold starts, the vehicle makes a rattle sound and vibrates steering wheel
GAUGE CLUSTER DOESN'T WORK MOST OF THE TIME. WHEN IT DOES COME ON EVERYTHING IS SO SCRAMBLED THAT YOU CAN NOT READ IT. I FEEL THAT THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE YOU CANNOT TELL HOW MUCH FUEL YOU HAVE AND YOU ARE UNABLE TO KNOW WHEN YOU HAVE MAINTENANCE DUE AND YOUR SPEEDOMETER DOESN'T SHOW THE SPEED YOU ARE GOING. BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE, I RECEIVED A $300 SPEEDING TICKET. I TOOK THE CAR INTO A HONDA REPAIR SHOP AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE GAUGE CLUSTER $1300 AND THEY TOLD ME THIS WAS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE. I FILED A CLAIM WITH HONDA AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER THIS AND THEY WERE NOT AWARE THAT THERE WERE ANY ISSUES WITH THE GAUGE CLUSTER MALFUNCTION. I HAVE READ SO MANY COMPLAINTS WITH PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM.
Paint from factory failed. Peels off in sheets. Items falling off a moving car is safety reason enough. Poor paint adhesion was confirmed by local paint/ body repair business. Honda has agreed by extending paint warranty for 7 years from build date but doesn't offer a recall # record to help with the steps of them handling the cost.
The right instrument cluster randomly goes blank or shows jibberish instead of the intended information. It includes the odometer and gas guage. You are at risk of running out of gas while on extended trips, without the odometer, you can not even calculate approximate mileage until empty to try to stay ahead of it.
Vehicle was stuttering and shaking from idle speed to 25mph. The transmission on the vehicle was failing according to Honda at ~80,000 miles. Metal shavings were found in the fluid. No cause for the issue was indicated by Honda of Hackettstown in NJ. Honda paid for 1700 of a 4300 bill.
MISC - SPEEDOMETER/GUAGE CLUSTER FAILED. SPEEDOMETER READ 70 MPH AND WAS PULLED OVER AND CLOCKED AT 99 MPH. THE GUAGE THAT TELLS FUEL AMOUNT, MILEAGE, AND OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION DOESN'T READ AND IS SCRAMBLED SO YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH FUEL YOU HAVE OR WHEN MAINTENANCE NEEDS TO BE DONE. I HAVE HAD IT LOOKED AT BY HONDA DEALERSHIP AND CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS A FAULTY GUAGE CLUSTER. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT PUT IN A NEW CLUSTER AT THE COST OF $1180.50. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS TO LET ME KNOW THAT THE SPEEDOMETER WAS NOT ACCURATE UNTIL I WAS PULLED OVER. THE GUAGE THAT SHOWS FUEL, ECT. HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR CLOSE TO A YEAR AND I HAVE DEALT WITH IT AND TALKED TO HONDA SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO SOLUTION FROM THEM. WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED 5/29/2022 AND WAS OFF THAT MUCH, I DEFINITELY FELT THAT IT WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION TO BE PUT IN.
I purchased car, 2/2015 in Oregon, and began having issues once in Florida, at approx 10,000 miles. I took car to a Honda dealership. I needed service- oil change etc, however, the car was missing, as in the motor/ or emissions. The cold ambient temp light always came on, in Fl, but im not aware of issues it caused. Soon the car began having multiple things happening and I took the car into the same dealership( always) to have it inspected, as the Fit is still practically new. I notated to service manager the car would seem to miss especially when pulling away from a stopped position. I also informed the manager there is a noise at 1st start of day or after sitting multiple hours. They took car for drive and returned to say they were unable to “reproduce” the complaint/noise. I explained it normally is after the car has sat overnight, or at least 8 or more hours. I told the service manager, it sounds like a rod knocking, or the engine is out of oil, like a grinding noise. He suggested it stay overnight, so he could test it the following morning and did. Later the next day, he called to have me pick up my car, and was “ unable to reproduce.” I’ve taken the car in to Honda several times, never getting problems answered. The last few times in to Honda is for the not starting issue. It seems electrical. It started under warranty, like the rest, when the Fit would not start after going someplace. My partner was left stranded at Walmart one time, i have been dealing with this and took in, the last time was in 2020, and the female service person kept my car a couple days. The dash light showing most times saying the key and charging system problem. However, she initially said “ couldn’t duplicate.” Finally called to say they found problem, and it is alternator which they had already done. By now my car was just over the warranty miles, and she grabbed me a price of $1000 or so, and ultimately i paid about $130. Im jumping my car now everday.
The dashboard that displays the odometer and mileage will glitch out and sometimes completely cut out. It happens more in the cold and has been on and off but getting worse for a few years. The horn will also beep upon starting the car up. My repair shop says the circuit board would need to be replaced and that would be well over $1000. Most of the issues I have had with this car have been recalled so I am hoping this is as well.
VTC ACTUATOR
Hi, My Honda Fit digital gauge that shows odometer and more importantly fuel gauge does not work 75% of time. On Fit sites this is a common problem. Honda says happens to most Fits. This has happened to me a few times and I thought I was alone in suffering this defect with my Honda Fit. My fuel gauge/odometer/trip indicator goes haywire. It is either blankly blue or half there. The other morning it resembled a kaleidoscope as the screen kept cycling through. When I called Honda to schedule service, they were accepting of my description., which indicates to me that this is a know problem. I just now Googled the issue and found a number of Fit owners who are experiencing the same anomaly. They should fix it.
The electrical display on my dashboard becomes unreadable during cold temperatures. The display flashes and no characters can be read. This makes it difficult to drive safely as it is very distracting. It is also difficult to plan out my trips considering the fuel gage is on the display. This problem only occurs in cold weather which leads me to believe it might have something to do with the connections not being secured properly. No warning lights or other symptoms were present before the problem began.
My Honda Fit has about 70,000 miles on it, and recently, without warning, the transmission completely gave out. The safety hazard was that acceleration control was lost while driving on the freeway. I had it towed to the shop, and they said there would have been no warning signs of any aging or degradation of the transmission prior to the failure. The mechanic at the shop said he's seen this pattern several times with this same model of transmission. No warning lamps or signals were lighting up prior to the failure. It came completely unexpectedly.
Fuel gauge display is blinking after that few times then it goes completely blank.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact about the start system error regarding the engine START/STOP feature. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the switch assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The contact mentioned receiving a product advisory for the keyless start. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 109,000.
2015 Honda Fit Fuel Gauge Display Failure
On 11/3/21, I turned my car on in the early morning; it was around freezing temps. The instrument panel/screen that shows odometer, gas mileage and fuel gauge was blank. My first thought was to "restart" the car and perhaps that would restart the guage. I turned the car completely off, even removing my key out of the ignition. I waited approximately 10 seconds, then turned the car back on. The screen was again blank. I continued to let the car run and after approximately 45-60 seconds, the guage finally appeared correctly. This morning on 12/1/21 as I was preparing to leave my home for work, my screen again was blank. I let the car run and after one minute it began to flicker with garbled letters and numbers. After another 30 seconds, the correct screen finally showed. On this day the morning temperature was between 58-61 degrees so it was not on a freezing cold start as the first instance. I'm concerned that this second instance took longer to correct, especially given it was in a much warmer temperature. In both instances, there was no prior warning, message, indicator light or other symptom that this problem would occur. There has been no common factor to alert me or prepare me. This system is available for inspection upon request. Upon a general search online, I have found MANY reports of similar instances in Honda Fit users in the recent months. I have not yet taken it to a repair shop or had it inspected, but I will as soon as possible. It is unsafe to not know how much gas is in the vehicle, coupled with not having the odometer to even manually gauge or estimate should I become stranded and need to estimate how much distance I can drive to a safer location. Now my additional concern is, could this happen while I'm driving the car and become stranded on a highway or less trafficked road.
In mid 2019 my Honda had a little rear end problem. Took it to a frame shop and was told my REAR AXLE BEAM ASSEMBLY was bent 3° which was causing front end alignment problems. When they used there machines and whatever else they tried was told there machinery couldn't make it budge.(front end alignment at least 2 times a month) Then in 2020 I went to start my car and nothing!! Kept trying and trying and finally it started. Continued to what I thought was my car just having a mind of its own to continuously not wanting to start so I checked my battery which was fine. I took the car to a Honda Dealership and was told I needed a new battery. Ok fine whatever then after the new battery was hooked up and they went to start it nothing!! Hours later here I am buying a starter (fixed the problem till about mid 2021). Oh yeah forgot STILL HAVE A BENT REAR AXLE) !! CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM has been popping up every time my car decides to start. Gotten to the point where the only way it'll start is if it's jumped. Battery is fine but the alternator isn't pushing out anything whatsoever!!! Because it's constantly being jumped my negative battery terminal SENSOR is going out. Every where I've called or taken the car to either says "nothing we can do" or they want to charge thousands of dollars or " oh ma'am your car is a discontinued model!" I have two little kids and this HONDA FIT is just not safe for myself, kids, or anyone else! Oh almost forgot ABS light along with the keyless entry plus contraction control and steering stabilizer lights are lit up like a Christmas Tree on the dash.
My 2015 Honda Fit out of nowhere won't start and is flashing an electrical system issue. A few weeks before this the electrical system stopped showing how much gas was in the car, how many miles etc. That whole electrical system looked really garbled then goes dark. My car wont start. And even after I fix it I cant drive around not knowing how much gas is in the car.
Instrument cluster works intermittently. Fuel gauge, oil change, ect...this guage stops working especially during the cold. Been having this problem for a could years. Noticed a lot of others have the same issues.
Digital odometer keeps faulting out. Numbers either corrupted, or gauge not visible. Happens regularly. Loss of fuel gauge, odometer, or any service codes.
At start up (often after the car has sat a few hours), the engine rattles loudly for about 2 seconds. Honda Service Bulletin 16-088 acknowledges that this occurs because “The variable valve timing control (VTC) actuator is defective.” However, Honda refuses to fix this engine defect unless the car is under warranty. This defect should be repaired regardless of whether the car is under warranty because the defect could lead to catastrophic engine failure.
Was driving 70MPH down the freeway when the transmission shaft snapped and I was suddenly coasting... will cost $6k to repair and the vehicle only has 88k miles on it.
I took the car into the Honda dealer in Bellevue, WA for an oil change and a buyer's inspection with leak down test. The next day, I could hear a loud rattling noise when I started the car. I took it back to Honda and they say it is the VTC actuator, along with timing chain, serpentine belt and water pump, which they did NOT list as issues during the 1st appointment, which was supposed to be a total inspection of the car. Not sure if they missed it or caused the additional issues. I took it to a 2nd mechanic, told him my whole story, and he said it was the VTC actuator too. I researched online and apparently many people have this issue, and most catch it before their 60k mile warranty is up. However, my car is at 74k miles. Apparently Honda was redesigned the VTC actuator, because it was such a big problem. However, they have not gone back to fix all the cars that had the issue. The mechanic says if I drive with this condition it could cause engine failure, which if it happens while driving, could pose a safety risk. I strongly feel that this is something that Honda should recall or at least extend the warranty to 100k miles for this issue.
Fuel injector issue.

DASH BOARD FREEZES AND BLURRS, WHEN THIS HAPPENS K CANNOT SEE MY CURRENT MILEAGE OR FUEL LEVELS. LOW TIRE ALWAYS LN EVEN WHEN I PUT AIR ON TIRES. I GOT MY TIRES CHECKED MANY TIMES AND STAYS ON.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN THE FAR LEFT AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD A ENGINE RPMS GO HIGH AND THEN I LOST THE TRANSMISSION. WHEN IT HAPPENED, THE D ON THE DASHBOARD BECAME FULL WITH ALL THE DIFFERENT LETTERS. A DISTINCT LETTER WAS NOT VISIBLE. TRYING TO ACCELERATE AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I PULLED OVER TO THE EMERGENCY LANE, I WAS LUCKY TO REACH IT BEING ON THE I10 WEST IN SAN BERNARDINO. TURNED OFF AND ON THE VEHICLE AND SHIFTED, BUT IT DIDN'T ENGAGE. THE ONLY FUNCTION THAT WORKS IS PARK. THE VEHICLE DOESN'T MOVE FORWARD OR BACKWARDS. WAITING TO BE TOWED TO SPREEN HONDA IN LOMA LINDA.
ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, THE FUEL GAUGE VERY OFTEN GOES BLANK FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. A DRIVER MAY NOT KNOW WHEN GAS TANK IS EMPTY, AND POSSIBLY LEAVING DRIVER STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. ALSO, THE SAME GAUGE SHOWS PROMPTS WHEN MAINTENANCE IS NEEDED ON THE VEHICLE. WITHOUT VISUAL REFERENCE TO THESE PROMPTS, AGAIN A DIRE SITUATION COULD OCCUR IF NOT TAKEN CARE OF IMMEDIATELY. THIS SITUATION HAS BEEN DAILY, FROM THE FIRST TIME VEHICLE IS STARTED IN THE MORNING AND THROUGHOUT THE DAY , SEVERAL TIMES A DAY, FOR AT LEAST A YEAR. HONDA WANTS OVER $1000, TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. PHOTOS ATTACHED.

I BOUGHT HONDA FIT 2015 ON JAN 11, 2015. LAST YEAR I GOT THE PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE START/STOP BUTTON. THE ENGINE DID NOT START WHEN I PUSHED THE BUTTON MANY TIMES. ON JUNE 13, 2020, I BROUGHT MY CARD TO HONDA DEALER. THEY SAID THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE STARTER. I LEFT THE CAR AT DEALER AND COME BACK TO PICK UP THE SAME DAY. AT DEALER PARKING LOT, I STARTED MY CAR AND IT DID THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. I CAME BACK INSIDE THE OFFICE AND LET THE TECHNICIAN KNEW. SO, I LEFT MY CAR AGAIN AT DEALER FOR THEM TO FIX IT. AT THAT TIME, MY CAR WAS 29,221 MILES ONLY FOR 5 AND HALF YEARS. I NOT DRIVE MY CAR A LOT JUST ABOUT 12 MILES PER DAY. DEALER TOLD ME THEY HAD TO FIXED SOMETHING ELSE AND CHARGED ME FOR TOTAL $750. FEB 20, 21, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HONDA ABOUT WARRANTY EXTENSION FOR 2015-17 FIT KEYLESS START SYSTEM ERROR WITH DTC B12C5. HONDA WOULD REIMBURSE IF I FIXED THAT PROBLEM BEFORE. I FILED PAPERWORK WITH ALL RECEIPTS ON 02/23/21. TODAY, I GOT THE PHONE CALL FROM HONDA CLAIM DEPARTMENT 03/11/2021 THEY STATED I DID NOT QUALIFIED FOR REIMBURSE BECAUSE THE PART THEY REPLACED NOT QUALIFIED. I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY? BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEMS, ONE DAY I HAD TO STAY ON PARKING LOT FOR 30 MINUTES TRING TO START THE ENGINE. I WAS LATE FOR WORK AND LATE FOR MY APPOINTMENTS TWICE. THE REIMBURSE CLAIM NUMBER: 11377164. HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BATTERIES EVERY SINGLE YEAR SINCE PURCHASE IN 2015. VEHICLE WILL FUNCTION FINE THEN STRUGGLE TO START OUT OF NOWHERE. THE CAR CAN BE JUMPSTARTED WITHOUT TOO MUCH ISSUE BY ANOTHER VEHICLE, BUT PORTABLE JUMPSTARTING SYSTEMS STRUGGLE TO GET IT GOING. ISSUES WILL START WITHOUT MUCH CORRELATION OF HOW MUCH THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN MOTION PRIOR. CAR COULD'VE BEEN STATIONARY/TURNED OFF FOR 30 MINS OR A DAY WITH THE SAME RESULTS.
MY CAR STARTED MAKING A JACK HAMMER NOISE 10/2020 WHILE DRIVING, WHEN IT WAS 5 YEARS OLD WITH 47,000. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED MY TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING AND NEEDED REPLACING. APPARENTLY, THERE HAVE BEEN 143000 RECALLS DUE TO TRANSMISSION FAILURE.
THE AIR DEFLECTOR UNDER THE FRONT OF MY CAR HAS FALLEN DOWN 5 TIMES OVER THE PAST 5 YEARS. IT HAS BEEN REPLACED ONCE. THIS HAS HAPPENED DURING HIGHWAY DRIVING. I HAVE HAD TO HAVE IT ZIP TIED MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE EITHER THE CLIPS THAT ARE USED TO ANCHOR IT ARE DEFECTIVE, POORLY DESIGNED, OR THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH TO WITHSTAND THE FORCES OF THE WIND.
I WAS DRIVING 75MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, UNDER CRUISE CONTROL. I ACCELERATED TO PASS A TRUCK. THE ENGINE HESITATED. A TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM, VEHICHLE STABBILTY ASSIST, ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING AND A FLASHING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, CAME ON. THE CAR BEGAN SLOWING AGAINST MY INPUTS TO 45MPH (LIMP MODE) ON A BUSY HIGHWAY MANY MILES FROM ANYWHERE. I WAS ABLE TO RESET THE CODE BY DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY AND RECONNECTING IT. THIS GOT ME A FEW MORE MILES, THE IT (LIMP MODE) HAPPENED AGAIN. I DISCONNECT/RECONNECT BATTERY ONCE MORE AND THIS GETS ME 35 MORE MILES AND TO THE NEAREST TOWN. TAKING IT TO A SHOP, THEY IDENTIFY THE ISSUE AS THE FUEL INJECTORS BY RESEARCHING ONLINE. IT TURNS OUT THIS IS FAIRLY COMMON ON THIS YEAR (2015) OF HONDA FIT, AND STILL SEEMS TO PERSIST DESPITE A REDESIGN OF THE INJECTORS FROM HONDA. THE REPAIR WAS HORRIBLY EXPENSIVE ($1,000 FOR PARTS FROM HONDA), BOTH FOR A CHEAP AND CHEERFUL CAR, AS WELL AS WHAT APPEARS TO BE VERY ORDINARY SOLENOID FUEL INJECTORS. I'M VERY SURPRISED THAT THIS KNOW ISSUE BY HONDA HASN'T SPAWNED A RECALL, BUT EITHER WAY, I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS CAR.
THE GAS AND SPEEDOMETER GAUGE WENT BLANK, THERE IS NO WAY TO TELL HOW MUCH GAS YOU HAVE LEFT IN THE TANK, YOU CANNOT TRACK DOWN YOUR OIL SERVICE MAINTENANCE, YOU CANNOT TRACK YOUR MILAGE USE. THIS IS BECOMING A SAFETY ISSUE, I DON'T TRUST THE CAR, I CAN BE LEFT STRANDED ANYTIME AND I AM DOING THE MAINTENANCE BLINDLY.
I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR THREE YEARS, IT HAS 81,166 MILES ON IT AND IS HAVING SO MANY PROBLEMS. THE ENGINE BURNS THROUGH OIL FASTER THAN IT SHOULD AND HAS CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE. I ALWAYS TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR OIL CHANGES AND ALWAYS BROUGHT IT IN WHEN THE OIL LIFE WAS AT ROUGHLY 20%. I CONSTANTLY CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL AND IT WAS ALWAYS LOW EVEN AFTER A RECENT FILL UP BUT HAD NO LEAKAGE. I NOW NEED A NEW ENGINE WHICH WILL COST ROUGHLY $5000 INCLUDING LABOR MAYBE MORE. EVERY TIME I STARTED MY CAR FOR THE PAST YEAR IT WOULD MAKE A ROUGH LOUD SOUND AND WOULD USUALLY GO AWAY ONCE I GOT AN OIL CHANGE. MY CAR WILL ALSO TAKE ROUGHLY 3 TRIES TO START AND WILL MOST LIKELY NEED A NEW STARTER. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE STARTER FIXED IN THE PAST 2 YEARS. THE BACK UP CAMERA IS ALSO WAY OFF WITH DEPTH PERCEPTION AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED MANY ACCIDENTS.

HONDA PAID FOR IT AFTER A LENGTHY ARGUMENT BETWEEN DEALERSHIPS. NOW, A YEAR LATER, I AM CONTINUALLY HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE NO-IGNITION KEYS. WHEN I FIRST GOT THE CAR, IT TOLD ME "LOW KEY BATTERY", "NO KEY" OR JUST WOULDNT REGISTER THEM. I REPLACED BOTH THE CAR BATTERY AND THE KEY BATTERIES. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE PCM MODULE. THEY SAID THEY FIXED IT AND LESS THAN A .MONTH LATER THE SAME PROBLEM WAS HAPPENING. NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME IT MAY JUST BE THE BATTERIES IN THE KEYS. TODAY I COULD NOT START MY CAR. EVEN WITH THE KEY IN THE CAR, AND EVEN PUSHING IT RIGHT UP TO THE IGNITION BUTTON WHICH USUALLY WORKS.

I FEEL VERY INSECURE NOT KNOWING HOW MUCH FUEL I HAVE IN THE CAR OR MY MILEAGE THAT I DEPEND ON FOR MAINTENANCE PURPOSES. I HAVE DID SOME RESEARCH ON MY ISSUE AND HAVE FOUND MANY OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
WHILE ON A ROAD TRIP IN LATE 2019, I NOTICED A SLIGHT SHUDDER AT LOW ACCELERATION. I FOUND THE NEAREST HONDA DEALER AND TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR EVALUATION. IT HAD 84,000 MILES AT THE TIME. THE DEALER FOUND THAT THE TRANSMISSION FILLER PLUG WAS MISSING. APPARENTLY IT HAD BEEN MISSING FOR SOME TIME, AS THERE WAS CAKED, DIRTY ATF SPILLED DOWN THE SIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION CASE. THE TRANSMISSION (CVT) WAS COMING APART INTERNALLY AND REQUIRED A FULL REPLACEMENT. HONDA DECLINED ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIR. I HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE OTHER REFERENCES IN ONLINE FORUMS TO FILLER CAPS ON 2015 HONDA CVTS POPPING OUT DURING OPERATION.
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON A LOT RECENTLY. TOOK IT TO A DEALER IN LACROSSE WI. TODAY TO HAVE IT CHECKED AND THEY SAID THAT ALL THE FUEL INJECTORS NEED REPLACED. I ASKED IF IT COULD STILL SAFELY BE DRIVEN. THEY SAID THAT IT COULD BECOME DISABLED, STRANDING ME WHEREVER IT HAPPENS. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR AFTER WHAT I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER TODAY. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCING OF THE FAULTY INJECTOR PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE THAT HONDA HAS KNOWN ABOUT FOR A LONG TIME AND THEIR ONLY SOLUTION IS OVER A $1700 REPLACEMENT COST.

NOT BEING ABLE TO CHECK THE FUEL GAUGE IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE FLASHING IS ALSO EXTREMELY DISTRACTING WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO MY VEHICLE FOR YEARS AND I FINALLY TOOK IT TO GET FIXED AT HONDA NOW. THEY CHARGE $179 JUST TO 'DIAGNOSE' THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH IT SEEMS THEY SHOULD BE AWARE OF IT.
2015 HONDA FIT (WITH APPROX. 24K MILES). BATTERY WILL LOSE CHARGE AFTER CAR IS NOT USED / SITS FOR THREE (3) TO FOUR (4) DAYS WITH ALL LIGHTS / RADIO / ACCESSORIES TURNED OFF. BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES, MOST RECENTLY AUGUST 2020. REPLACEMENT BATTERY IS PROPERLY SIZED FOR THE VEHICLE. THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE IS CAUSING A PARASITIC DRAIN ON THE BATTERY. DEALER REPS HAVE STATED THIS IS A WELL-RECOGNIZED PROBLEM WITH THE FIT MODEL. RECOMMENDATION IS THAT THE CAR BE DRIVEN AT LEAST 10 TO 15 MILES EVERY DAY OR 2ND DAY. THE RECOMMENDATION DRIVE THE VEHICLE EVERY DAY / 2ND DAY IS NOT ONLY EXPENSIVE IN TERMS OF GAS COSTS BUT ALSO NEEDLESSLY CONTRIBUTES TO POLLUTION AND (PERHAPS BY DESIGN) EARLY VEHICLE OBSOLESCENCE. THIS IMPORTANT SAFETY DEFECT IS MOST LIKELY CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE ELECTRICAL LOAD DETECTOR (ELD) UNIT IN THE FUSE/RELAY BOX. THIS ELD READS THE AMPERAGE LOAD DIRECTLY FROM THE BATTERY AND SENDS A VARIED VOLTAGE SIGNAL TO THE PCM WHICH REGULATES THE SIGNAL TO THE ALTERNATOR. THE ELD IS DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO THE PCM. THE PCM IS CONNECTED TO THE ALTERNATOR, NOT THE ELD. THE ELD MONITORS THE AMPERAGE REQUIREMENTS AND INFORMS THE PCM AS TO WHAT TO DO. THE ELD WILL VARY THE OUTPUT BETWEEN .1 TO 4.8 VOLTS TO THE ECU. THIS REFERENCE VOLTAGE IS WHAT TELLS THE ECU TO INCREASE OR DECREASE THE FIELD STRENGTH IN THE ALTERNATOR. AS THE CURRENT IS RAMPED UP OR DOWN THE ELD RATCHETS THE OUTPUT VOLTAGE TO THE PCM TO COMPENSATE FOR THE LOAD. I WAS TOLD THAT A HONDA BULLETIN STATED: SYMPTOM: THE CAR WILL NOT START AFTER SITTING FOR A WEEK. PROBABLE CAUSE: THE ELD IS FAULTY OR HAS A FAULTY SOLDER JOINT. SOLUTION: - REPLACE THE UNDER HOOD FUSE/RELAY BOX. THIS IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. HONDA MOTORS SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO RECALL THESE CARS TO FIX THE ELD / PCM PARTS / ALTERNATOR COMPUTER PROGRAM AND UP SIZE THE BATTERIES TO HANDLE THE PARASITIC DRAW.

WHEN I STOPPED TO THE TRAFFIC LIGHT AFTER EXITING THE FREEWAY, MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE EVEN WHEN I SHIFT MY CAR TO D (DRIVE). IT ACTED AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. THE DESCRIPTION OF THE DEFECT IS THAT SOFTWARE SETTINGS THAT CONTROL THE TRANSMISSION OPERATION MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION DRIVE PULLEY SHAFT. I WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN IS NOT A PART OF THIS RECALL. MY VEHICLE IS JUST OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY AT ABOUT 72,000 MILES BUT LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD. I HAVE HAD 2 FLAT TIRES IN THE PAST MONTH ALL SHOWING A SIGNIFICANT GOUGING TEAR ON THE INNER FACING SIDE OF EACH TIRE. THE FIRST ONE WAS REPLACED BY AAA AS A DEFECTIVE TIRE, BUT AFTER THE 2ND FLAT, MY AAA REPAIR GUY MENTIONED IT COULD LIKELY BE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT WITH SOME PART OF THE CAR OR AXLE SCRAPING AGAINST THE INNER SIDE OF THE TIRE. THE FIRST ONE WAS MY FRONT RIGHT AND THE CURRENT FLAT TIRE I'M DEALING WITH IS THE REAR LEFT TIRE. THERE'S NOTHING OBVIOUSLY VISIBLE AS THE CAUSE OF WHAT COULD BE SCRAPING AGAINST THE WHEELS. AS THE PICTURE BELOW SHOWS, THE SCRAPE IS IN A CLEAR CIRCULAR LINE WHICH SEEMS TO INDICATE A STATIONARY PART ON THE CAR SCRAPING OR CUTTING INTO THE INNER SIDE OF THE WHEEL. WHEN FLAT TIRE WAS DISCOVERED CAR WAS STATIONARY. FIRST INDICATOR OF A PROBLEM WAS THE TIRE PRESSURE GAUGE LIGHT BEFORE I NOTICED A FLAT. WHEN I CAME BACK TO MY PARKED CAR THE REAR LEFT TIRE WAS FULLY FLAT AND NON-DRIVABLE. CAR WAS PARKED ON A CITY STREET

MY KEY IGNITION LIGHT WENT ON STARTING 9/2019. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND HAD TO GET THE ELECTRICAL PANEL RELATED TO THE IGNITION AND STARTER REPLACED. IT MIGHT BE RELATED TO THE RECALL OF THE 2013-14 MODEL WHERE THE FRONT PANEL HAD TO BE REPLACED.

I AM NOW EXPERIENCING THE DISAPPEARING OF THE FUEL GAUGE AND ODOMETER DISPLAY FOR UP TO 5 MIN + INTERVALS, ESPECIALLY UPON STARTING THE CAR IN THE MORNING BUT ALSO WHILE DRIVING (ON STREETS AND HIGHWAYS). AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A FLUKE, BUT NOW IT'S HAPPENING DAILY. I'VE GONE TO THE SERVICE DEPT. AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR AND AT FIRST WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. I PRESSED THEM WITH MY PHOTOS AND AFTER MEETING WITH THE DIR. OF SERVICE, WHO THEN DID THE DIAGNOSTICS, HE SAID THAT THE WHOLE UNIT, CALLED THE 'COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY' WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED, FOR ABOUT $800 NOT INCLUDING LABOR. THAT'S $$$. AMERICAN HONDA HAS SO FAR REFUSED TO ADMIT THEIR FAULT AND LIABILITY HERE. THERE IS NO NEGLIGENCE ON MY SIDE. WHEN I RESEARCHED THIS MALFUNCTION ONLINE, IT TURNS OUT THAT THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE AND MANY FORUMS DOCUMENTING THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM FOR MY EXACT HONDA FIT 2015 MODEL. IT'S VERY DISCONCERTING TO BE SADDLED WITH THIS PROBLEM. IT IS NOT ONLY A SAFETY ISSUE BUT IT IS A LIABILITY ISSUE, RE: ODOMETER READINGS, BEING INSURED, FUTURE RESALE. . IF FOR ANY REASON THE DISPLAY IS NOT READING CORRECTLY, AND NOT CORRECTLY DISPLAYING THE PROPER # OF MILES, IT'S A MORE SERIOUS MATTER. OF COURSE, NOT KNOWING HOW MUCH FUEL YOU HAVE IN YOUR TANK IS ALSO A SERIOUS MATTER! AN INVESTIGATION AND RECALL SHOULD BE STARTED FOR THIS ISSUE. IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITH A FAULTY DISPLAY AND ILLEGAL NOT TO HAVE THE PROPER ODOMETER READINGS. NO WAY SHOULD ANY OF US WHO OWN THIS MAKE AND MODEL HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR. IT'S HONDA'S FAULT.
THE PART OF THE DASHBOARD THAT SHOWS THE FUEL LEVELS, MPG, AND ODOMETER KEEPS SHORTING OUT AND ONLY SHOWING A BLANK BLUE SCREEN. SOMETIMES IT WILL TRY TO COME BACK ON AND SHOW RANDOM LINES AND SYMBOLS. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE, WHICH MAKES ME EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING IT. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I FIRST START THE CAR. SOMETIMES IT WILL COME BACK ON CORRECTLY AFTER ABOUT 20-30 MINUTES OF RUNNING THE CAR. MY CAR ACCCEILERATED TWICE WITHOUT THE DRIVER TOUCHING THE ACCELERATOR. IT HAPPENED WHILE PARKING AS THE CAR WAS CREEPING FORWARD IN THE PARKING SPACE AND SUDDENLY SPED UP. I HAD TO STAMP ON THE BRAKE TO STOP IT. I DO NOT KNOW WHY, BUT I FOUND OUT THAT CARS OF THE SAME MAKE , MODEL AND YEAR IN JAPAN WERE RECALLED FOR SPONTANEOUS ACCELERATION AND IT WAS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM. I HAVE NOT HAD AN ACCIDENT, BUT IT IS CLEARLY DANGEROUS AND COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENT OR INJURY IF THE CAR HIT AND OBJECT OR A PERSON. IF I HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO STOP THE CAR, I WOULD HAVE HIT THE CEMENT WALL OF A BUILDING.
FUEL GAUGE AND MILEAGE DISPLAY MALFUNCTIONING - FLICKERS ON AND OFF WITH INCOHERENT NUMBERS AND SYMBOLS. WILL GO OFF COMPLETELY AND REMAIN BLANKLY BACKLIT, SOMETIMES COMES BACK ON AND FLICKERS AND OFF AGAIN. IT WAS FLICKERING WHEN I STARTED THE CAR IN THE MORNING AND WHILE I WAS DRIVING.
MY FATHER WAS IN A COLLISION AT 55 MPH WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE ILLEGALLY PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF HIM, THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED BUT DID NOT INFLATE. THE ACCIDENT RESULTED IN INJURY TO HIS RIB CAGE AND FRACTURE OF HIS LOWER VERTEBRA.
WHILE MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD LIT UP AND THEN THE CAR BEGAN TO SPUTTER AS IF IT WAS OUT OF GAS (BUT THE TANK WAS FULL), THEN THE CAR DIED AND WOULD NOT RESTART. WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY BUT IT WAS A VERY SCARY PLACE TO HAVE THIS KIND OF ISSUE.
MY 2015 HONDA FIT WITH 50,000 MILES HAD DEFECTIVE FUEL INJECTORS. I'VE ALWAYS SERVICED THE VEHICLE REGULARLY. A CYLINDER STARTED MISFIRING (FAULT CODE PO301). I HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO GET FIXED. THEY CHARGED ME $2000 TO CHANGE ALL THE INJECTORS. THE INJECTORS WERE OUT OF WARRANTY (3 YEARS OR 36,000 MILES). MY CAR IS 4 YEARS OLD WITH 50,000. I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET.
A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO I WENT TO TURN MY CAR ON, WHILE STATIONARY THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS LIT UP OUT OF NOWHERE.THE TPMS SENSOR BEGAN FLASHING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, ALONG WITH THE EPS & VSA LIGHTS. THE CAR JUST GOT TO 68K MILES. I WENT TO GET MY CAR SCANNED AND THE RESULT WAS A MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 4. AFTER DOING MORE RESEARCH, I FOUND THAT MANY OTHER CARS (OF THIS EXACT MODEL) HAD THIS SAME ISSUE & HAVE BEEN RECALLED, BUT MINE HASN'T. I'M WORRIED IT MAY BECOME A BIGGER ISSUE TO MY SAFETY.

I TRIED RESTARTING THE ENGINE MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT AFTER TURNING OVER AND RUNNING FOR MAYBE 1 SECOND, THE ENGINE WOULD QUICKLY SHUT OFF AND WAS COMPLETELY INOPERABLE. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS PROBLEM, STALLING US IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY 8-LANE AVENUE AND THE CAR HAD TO BE PUSHED UP A HILL AND OFF TO A SIDE ROAD AS THERE WAS NO SHOULDER. WITH MY SPOUSE AND FOUR MONTH OLD DAUGHTER IN THE CAR, IT PUT MY FAMILY IN A GREAT DEAL OF DANGER. THE DEALER FINALLY CITED A FAULTY FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR INSIDE THE FUEL RAIL. WITH SO MANY OTHERS REPORTING FAILURES WITH EITHER THE FUEL INJECTORS OR FUEL RAIL, THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A FAULTY PART(S) AND WILL HOPEFULLY BE RESOLVED BY HONDA. I COULD SEE THIS HAPPENING IF THE CAR WERE 10 YEARS OLD OR MORE, BUT ON A CAR WITH ONLY 55,000 MILES AND FOUR YEARS OLD? THAT DEFEATED THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF BUYING A SUPPOSEDLY RELIABLE CAR FROM HONDA.

THE LIGHTS WILL FLASH ON AND OFF AT RANDOM TIMES WHILE I'M IN MOTION AND IS ESPECIALLY TERRIFYING WHEN TRYING TO DRIVE AT A HIGHWAY SPEED. MANY PEOPLE WITH 2015 HONDA FITS HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES AND I WOULD ENCOURAGE YOU TO EXPLORE THIS DANGER. PURCHASED CAR NEW FROM DEALER 7/2015. IN 2/2018 ALL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. HONDA REPLACED THE FUEL INJECTORS. SAME ISSUE AGAIN IN 4/2018 & HONDA REPLACED INJECTORS AGAIN. SERVICE REP (RICHFIELD- BLOOMINGTON HONDA) TOLD US THEY WERE SEEING THIS PROBLEM IN FITS THAT WERE LOW MILEAGE & "NOT DRIVEN MUCH." REP COULD NOT TELL US HOW MUCH DRIVING WOULD BE "ENOUGH" OR HOW TO AVOID FUTURE PROBLEMS. 4/2019 SAME PROBLEM --ALL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON WHILE DRIVING AGAIN & THIS TIME HONDA REPLACED THE CYLINDER HEAD. SERVICE DIRECTOR TOLD US THAT, WHILE THE CAR IS "CURRENTLY FIXED," HE "SEES NO REASON THIS PROBLEM WON'T CONTINUE TO HAPPEN" BC WE DON'T DRIVE MUCH. HE STATED THAT 2015 FIT HAS DIRECT INJECTION TECHNOLOGY & NEEDS TO BE DRIVEN MORE AT HIGH SPEEDS TO BURN OFF CARBON, BUT HE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT HE DIDN'T "KNOW HOW MUCH WAS ENOUGH & IT'S NOT IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL." HE STATED "YOU'LL HAVE THIS PROBLEM AGAIN NEXT WINTER OR SPRING." I ASKED THE SERVICE DIRECTOR WHAT THE RISKS ARE DRIVING WHEN THE INJECTORS & ENGINE HAVE BUILD-UP & HE SAID THE "CAR CAN SEIZE UP IF IT GETS BAD--IT HAS TO BE CLEANED OFF." I CALLED HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE (MANUFACTURER, NOT DEALER) & EXPLAINED THIS AND THAT THEY HAVE A SERVICE DIRECTOR TELLING ME THE PROBLEM WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. HONDA REFUSED TO TAKE A REPORT "BECAUSE THE CAR IS OPERATING RIGHT NOW." ALL THESE REPAIRS HAVE BEEN UNDER WARRANTY; THESE REPAIRS ARE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. THIS IS NOT WHAT WE WANT OR EXPECT FROM A NEW VEHICLE. HONDA WILL NOT MAKE THIS RIGHT.

CAR HESITATED AS WE TRIED TO ENTER AT A YIELD WITH A CAR APPROACHING CAUSING A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR US. DEALER SAID IT WAS ALL 4 BAD FUEL INJECTORS, BUT THAT DOESN'T SEEM TO MATCH THE SYMPTOMS. I SUSPECT THE COILS ARE AT FAULT ONCE THEY HEAT UP AND FAIL.

THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,046.
TRANSMISSION FAILED VERY SUDDENLY AT 77,600 MILES WITH NO PRIOR SIGNS THAT IT WAS HAVING ISSUES. LUCKILY CAR WAS STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT, OTHERWISE THIS COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. CAR WAS IMMEDIATELY IMMOBILIZED. CAR WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND THEN TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP WHERE THE ATTACHED PICTURES WERE TAKEN. HUNDREDS OF METAL SHARDS WERE FOUND INSIDE THE PAN.
WHILE IN MOTION, THE PLASTIC ENGINE SPLASH GUARD CAME OFF AND WAS DRAGGING ON THE ROAD AT 80 MPH. ONLY 1 PIN WAS LEFT IN ON INSPECTION. IT MAKES A HORRIBLE NOISE LIKE A TIRE WENT FLAT. THIS GUARD MUST BE REMOVED TO CHANGE THE OIL AND IT WAS CHANGED BY DEALERSHIP 2 WEEKS PRIOR. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME IT HAS HAPPENED IN THE 14 MONTHS I'VE OWNED THE CAR. THE CLIPS THAT HOLD IT IN ARE PLASTIC, THEY DO NOT HOLD AND HAVE TO BE REPLACED AFTER EVERY OIL CHANGE. THIS IS A SAFETY AND ROAD HAZARD TO OTHER DRIVERS. THERE ARE MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS IN HAND FIT FORUMS. IT IS A DESIGN FLAW AND MANY OWNERS HAVE TAKEN TO PUTTING ON ZIP TIES AFTER OIL CHANGES.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT APPX 65 MILES PER HOUR DURING THE EVENING OF 2/14, ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL BRIEFLY LIT THEN SHUT-OFF. THE ENGINE ALSO SHUT DOWN CAUSING ME TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND ATTEMPT TO RESTART. AFTER DEPRESSING THE ELECTRONIC IGNITION BUTTON ABOUT 10 TIMES, THE VEHICLE FINALLY STARTED. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH NOT STARTING SINCE 02/02. THE DEALER REPLACED THE START BUTTON ON 2/5 AND REPLACED THE STARTER ON 2/12. EVEN AFTER THOSE REPLACEMENTS, THE CAR STILL HAS ISSUES STARTING.

AMERICAN HONDA HAS ISSUED SERVICE BULLETIN 16-088 (FEBRUARY 2017) TO ADDRESS DEFECTIVE VARIABLE VALVE TIMING CONTROL (VTC) ACTUATORS ON THE 2015 HONDA FIT (HTTPS://TESTING-PUBLIC.CARMD.COM/TSB/DOWNLOAD/118695/A16-088) AND MANY MORE SERVICE BULLETINS FOR DEFECTIVE VTC ACTUATORS IN OTHER OF ITS VEHICLES OVER THE YEARS (E.G. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH GAS THE CAR HAS. I HAVE SEEN THIS ISSUE APPEAR IN MULTIPLE FORUMS ONLINE, ALL CONCERNING THE SAME ELECTRONIC DISPLAY IN THE FIT GOING BLANK AT LOWER TEMPERATURES. CLEARLY IT IS A FAULTY PART, COSTING ME ABOUT $700 PLUS LABOR TO REPLACE.

VEHICLE HAS 48,000 MILES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, TOOK IT INTO DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS. ALL FOUR FUEL INJECTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO GUMMING (NOT DUE TO QUALITY OF FUEL). THE VEHICLE RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL SERVICING IN 2016 THAT COULD AFFECT THE FUEL INJECTORS, BUT NO ISSUES WERE RECORDED BY THE DEALERSHIP. THE VEHICLE IS UNDER A SERVICE BULLETIN ON FAULTY FUEL INJECTORS FOR ALL VIN'S OF THE HONDA FIT 2015, AND THE NTSB NUMBER FOR THAT IS: A16-034. BOTH SERVICE TECHS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE AT HONDA FOUND THE ISSUE TO BE ABNORMAL ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THE ISSUE EFFECTED ALL FOUR INJECTORS, NOT JUST ONE.

THEY SAID THAT BECAUSE OF THE TOE, I WAS ESSENTIALLY DRAGGING MY REAR TIRES CAUSING EXCESSIVE WEAR AND TEAR. NOT TO MENTION REDUCING GAS MILEAGE. THIS APPEARS TO BE A MANUFACTURING ISSUE AFTER LOOKING ON-LINE AT WHETHER OR NOT OTHER'S ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS.

YESTERDAY (9/14/18) WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK FOUR OF THE MALFUNCTION LIGHTS CAME ON. I WAS ON CITY STREETS IN SARASOTA, FL. THE LIGHTS WERE TPMS, EMISSIONS, POWER STEERING AND TRACTION. THE ATTACHED PHOTO WAS TAKEN WHEN I ARRIVED HOME. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM, VENICE HONDA, FOR THIS MORNING 9/15/18. THEY INFORMED ME THE FUEL INJECTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $1400. THE ESTIMATE IS ATTACHED. I BALKED AT THE COST OF THE REPAIR AFTER THEY INFORMED ME THIS ISSUE IS KNOWN BY HONDA AND THE DEALER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ME WITH ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. I FOUND THAT HONDA HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR ABOUT TWO (2) YEARS BUT DID NOT ISSUE A RECALL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING AND THE VEHICLE COULD STALL RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA AND WOULD LIKE THEM TO REIMBURSE ME FOR AT LEAST 50% OF THE COST OF THE REPAIR.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,460.

DEAR NHTSA, MY 2015 HONDA FIT RATTLE'S ON COLD START INITIALLY WHEN YOU START THE ENGINE. AFTER ABOUT 6-8 HOURS AFTER LETTING THE ENGINE COOL THE NOISE WILL REAPPEAR. THE ISSUE IS THE VTC ACTUATOR. THE ROAD WAS COMPLETELY FREE OF DEBRIS, AND WHEN I PULLED OVER THE ENGINE SPLASH GUARD CAME UP, ALONG WITH BREAKING BOTH TABS ON THE FRONT BUMPER. I HAD ENGINE SPLASH REPLACED 3 MONTHS AGO USING BRAND NEW CLIPS (PLASTIC WHICH ACTUALLY ENDS UP BREAKING) AND SCREWS. EVEN AFTER FIXING THE ENGINE SPLASH GUARD, THE VTC RATTLE NOISE STILL APPEARED. RECENTLY, THE ENGINE SPLASH GUARD STILL MANAGED TO POP OFF ON THE FREEWAY. AT THIS POINT, I'M FED UP WITH THE TERRIBLE DISAPPOINTMENT THIS VEHICLE HAS GIVEN ME ALONG WITH ITS BUILD QUALITY. ANOTHER THING TO NOTE IS THE DOOR PANEL MAKING A RATTLING NOISE. AFTER TAKING OFF THE DOOR PANEL, I NOTICED THE THE PLASTIC LINING IS DETACHING FROM THE BLACK GLUE THAT IS KEEPING IT IN PLACE. POSSIBLY, THE HEAT IS CAUSING THE BLACK GLUE TO MELT.
AFTER ANY SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL, WATER COLLECTS WITHIN THE DOORS AND LEAKS INTO THE CABIN. THIS WATER ACCUMULATES UNDER THE SEATS AND PROMOTES THE GROWTH OF MOLD AND MILDEW UNDER THE CABIN. AFTER A 1-INCH RAINFALL, APPROXIMATELY 2 CUPS OF WATER COLLECT UNDER THE REAR SEAT ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THIS LEAKAGE OCCURS BOTH WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY.
WHEN USING THE ECON BUTTON, MY VEHICLE ENGINE OFTEN DIES AT A STOP. I'VE CHECKED IT OUT SEVERAL TIMES AND IT ONLY DOES THIS WHEN THE ECON SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED. TAKING IT TO DEALER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, BUT IT NEVER HAPPENS FOR THEM AND IT NEVER THROWS A MALFUNCTION CODE. WORKS FINE DURING NORMAL OPERATION. ONCE THE ELECTRONICS RESET, I CAN ONCE AGAIN START THE VEHICLE. AS YOU CAN VISUALIZE, THIS IS SOMETIMES A DANGEROUS SITUATION OUT ON A BUST ROAD OR STREET.

VEHICLE HAS HAD TWO EPISODES OF STALLING AND NOT STARTING. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS LESS THAN SIX MONTHS AGO WHEN DRIVING ON FREEWAY ABOUT 70 MPH CAR STALLED THEN RESTARTED A FEW SECONDS LATER. WE HAD HOEHN HONDA CARLSBAD, CA CHECK THE CAR AND THEY REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR. NOT SURE THAT WAS THE REAL PROBLEM. TODAY THE CAR EXHIBITED SYMPTOMS OF A LOW BATTERY. TWICE TODAY IT STALLED AFTER DRIVING FOR 15-20 MINUTES AND WOULD NOT RESTART IMMEDIATELY AFTER PARKING. I HAD IT JUMPED BOTH TIMES. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK BATTERY TO AUTO SHOP WHO TESTED IT AT 100% CHARGE. I PUT IT BACK IN THE CAR AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. WHEN I GOT HOME TEN MINUTES LATER THE SYSTEM AGAIN SOUNDED LOW ON POWER WHEN I TRIED TO START IMMEDIATELY AFTER PARKING. I CHECKED RECALLS ON 2015 FITS AND ONE CAME UP FOR "PLUG TOP IGNITION COIL DAMAGE." WONDERING IF THAT IS WHAT WE ARE EXPERIENCING. NOTE THAT THE TEMPERATURE WAS 93 DEGREES TODAY IN CARLSBAD. IGNITION BUTTON AND HAZARD BUTTON ARE PLACED TOO CLOSE TOGETHER AND ARE SIMILARLY COLORED. TWICE, I HAVE REACHED TO ENGAGE HAZARD BUTTON AND HIT THE IGNITION BUTTON INSTEAD. WHEN THE IGNITION BUTTON IN ENGAGED, THE ENGINE TURNS OFF. THE FIRST TIME I DID THIS, I WAS GOING 65 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE. MILEAGE AT INITIAL OCCURRENCE: @80,400. COST TO FIX: $547 FOR THE UNIT, $89 LABOR.
WHILE PARKING THE CAR IN THE PARKING SPACE, IT SUDDENLY SELF-ACCELERATED, JUMPED THE CURB, AND CRASHED INTO THE WALL IN FRONT OF THE CAR RESULTING IN INJURIES TO BOTH THE DRIVER (2 FRACTURED NECK VERTEBRAE, 3 FRACTURED RIBS ON RIGHT SIDE, AND BROKEN LEFT FOOT) AND PASSENGER (LACERATION TO RIGHT HAND AND BRUISED RIBS ON LEFT SIDE). I CALLED THEM AND THEY AGREED TO REPAIR THE SEAT BELT AS A ONE-TIME COURTESY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO DISCOVERED THAT WERE LOOSE BOLTS FROM THE FACTORY CAUSING THE FRONT BUMPER TO SQUEAK. IN THE PROCESS OF LOOKING FOR THE SQUEAK THEY DISMANTLED THE DASH BOARD. NOW THE DASHBOARD HAS COME APART AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND CANNOT BE PUT BACK TO ORIGINAL FACTORY SPECS. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR A PASSENGER IN THE EVENT OF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.

WHEN I WROTE TO AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR COMPANY IN CALIFORNIA THEY REPLIED THAT THEY NEED LOTS MORE INFO BEFORE THEY CAN REIMBURSE ME. APPARENTLY WHOEVER WROTE THIS DOES NOT KNOW THAT CUSTOMERS DO NOT HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING ON A SAFETY RECALL. I DON'T WANT MONEY, I WANT THE PROBLEM FIXED BEFORE I GET HIT FROM BEHIND. A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND HEARD A LOUD SOUND LIKE SOMETHING WAS DRAGGING UNDER THE CAR. I PULLED OVER AND FOUND THAT THE PLASTIC UNDERCARRIAGE HAD COME LOOSE AND WAS DRAGGING ON THE HIGHWAY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INSISTED THAT I HAD HIT SOMETHING, WHICH I HAD NOT. THEY PUT NEW SCREWS IN BUT THEY DID NOT HOLD AND IT CAME LOOSE AGAIN. I NEVER HIT ANYTHING AND THERE WAS NO REASON THAT IT SHOULD HAVE COME LOOSE. I ENDED UP HAVING TO TAKE IT OFF WHEN IT CAME LOOSE AFTER AN OIL CHANGE AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REFUSED TO REPAIR IT.
MY CAR SUDDENLY STARTED TO SHIMMER AND HAVE A FLUCTUATION IN POWER AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 60 MPH. I HAD TO MOVE OVER TWO LANES TO PARK ON THE SHOULDER AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE. THE FOLLOWING WARNING LIGHTS WERE ON: MALFUNCTION; TRACTION CONTROL; POWER STEERING AND THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT WAS BLINKING NONSTOP (IT WAS ON SOLID PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT). I WAS NOT SAFE ON THE SHOULDER WITH CARS FLYING BY ON THE INTERSTATE. I PRESSED THE START BUTTON AND AFTER A SLIGHT HESITATION, THE CAR STARTED. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE A HALF MILE ON THE SHOULDER AND GET OFF THE INTERSTATE SO I WAS IN A SAFER LOCATION. THE CAR'S POWER WAS INCONSISTENT AS I DROVE THIS HALF MILE. ALL THE WARMING LIGHTS REMAINED ON. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE HONDA DEALER'S SHOP. THE HONDA SHOP WAS ABLE TO REPLICATE THE SAME PROBLEM AND WARNING LIGHTS THAT I REPORTED. THEY SAID THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP HAD FAILED AND REPLACED IT. THEY DID NOT PROVIDE ANY EXPLANATION WHAT THE PART FAILED. THE CAR ONLY HAS 12,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS HAD ALL THE SCHEDULED SERVICE AND RECALLS ADDRESSED, NOW THAT THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP HAS BEEN REPLACED THE CAR RUNS NORMAL AGAIN. EXACTLY TWO WEEKS BEFORE THIS INCIDENT, THE SAME HONDA DEALER SHOP CHANGED MY OIL & FILTER AND PERFORMED THE SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE CHECKS AND THEY REPLACED THE PLUG TOP IGNITION COIL PER A SAFETY RECALL. I HAVE WONDERED IF THERE COULD BE A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE FAILURE OF THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP AND THE DEALER SHOP HAVING REPLACED THE PLUG TOP IGNITION COIL. I HAVE THE HONDA DEALER PAPERWORK SUPPORTING MY REPORTS. THE CAR'S SHIMMERING AND LOSS OF POWER ON THE INTERSTATE PUT ME IN SERIOUS DANGER OF A CAR ACCIDENT.
CENTER AND DRIVER REAR SEAT BELT BUCKLES ARE INSTALLED BACKWARDS CAUSING THE SEATBELTS TO NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY. HONDA FIX IS TO INVERT THE BRACKET, WHICH CHANGES THE ANGLE OF THE LOAD APPLIED TO THE SEATBELT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT.

TOOK IT TO TOM WOOD HONDA ALL THEY CHECKED WAS THE BRAKES AND SAID IT WAS FINE. UPDATE: FEBRUARY 2016 MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN INTO A PARKING SPACE AT A PANERA BREAD GENTLY TAPPED THE BRAKES THE CAR ACCELERATED AND WENT THRU THE DOOR AT PANERA BREAD. TOM WOOD HONDA CHECKED THE BRAKES SAYS ITS FINE AND RELEASED IT TO THE COLLISION CENTER. I AM MAKING LEASE PAYMENTS ON THIS CAR BUT WHEN IT'S REPAIRED IT IS STAYING AT THE LOT. MY COMPLAINT CONCERNS THE MANUFACTURERS "FIX" FOR THE CVT DRIVE PULLY SHAFT THAT IS INCORRECTLY SURFACE HARDEN/HEAT TREATED. HONDA TENDERS A SOFTWARE FIX TO REDUCE LOADS ON THE INCORRECTLY MANUFACTURED PART. I WAS ADVISED TO FILE A COMPLAINT ABOUT MY CONCERNS BY JENNIFER TIMIAN, CHIER OF THE RECALL MANAGEMENT DIVISION OFFICE OF DEFECTS INVESTIGATIONS ENFORCEMENT. THIS IS NOT A TYPICAL COMPLAINT. IT IS NOT ABOUT AN ACCIDENT THAT HAS OCCURRED, BUT RATHER PREVENTIVE MEASURE TO KEEP THEM FROM HAPPENING. THERE IS ALREADY A RECALL ABOUT THE DEFECT IN THESE CARS (15V-574). THIS COMPLAINT IS ABOUT A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE FIX THAT HONDA HAS IMPLEMENTED FOR IT. IT IS MY OPINION THAT THERE IS A SERIOUS FLAW IN HOW THEY ARE FIXING THE DEFECT THAT LEAVES THE OPERATORS OF THESE AFFECTED VEHICLES(OVER 100,000 OF THEM) IN DANGER. THE REASON FOR THIS RECALL IS QUITE SERIOUS. IT APPEARS THAT SOME OF THE PULLEY SHAFTS IN THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS WERE MANUFACTURED WITH LOW HARDNESS AND THIS COUPLED WITH HIGH FORCES IN THE CVT TRANSMISSION CAN CAUSE THE PULLEY SHAFT TO FAIL RESULTING IN LOSS OF ALL DRIVE AND IN ONE INSTANCE LOCKING OF THE FRONT WHEELS (A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION THAT CAN EASILY RESULT IN SOMEONE BEING KILLED). THE SOLUTION THAT HONDA CAME UP WITH WAS TO CHANGE THE PROGRAMMING IN THE CVT TO REDUCE THE FORCE ON THE PART. THIS IN NOT THE CORRECT WAY TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE FLAW THAT HONDA IS OVERLOOKING IS THAT THESE CARS HAVE BEEN DRIVEN AND THE PART HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO STRESSES THAT HAVE CAUSED IT FAIL IN SIMILAR VEHICLES. IN THE CASE OF MY GIRLFRIEND FOR OVER A YEAR. THE PART CAN EASILY BE WEAKENED AND CLOSE TO FAILURE. REDUCING THE FORCES APPLIED TO IT CAN NOT INSURE THAT THE PART WILL NOT FAIL. I FEEL THAT THE CORRECT FIX WOULD BE TO REPLACE THE PART WITH ONE THAT IS PROPERLY HARDENED OR AT LEAST INSPECT AND TEST THE PART TO INSURE THAT ITS STRENGTH HAS NOT BEEN COMPROMISED. ON A WINDING ROAD, I CAN LOOSE SIGHT OF AN ONCOMING CAR BASED ON THE ANGLE OF MY CURVE. THE LOWER ENGINE COVER (FRONT) CONTINUES TO FALL OFF DUE TO CHEAP PLASTIC SCREWS. EVEN WHEN THE GUARD IS HIT BY SOMETHING VERY SMALL IT IS PRONE TO FALL OFF, WHICH IS NOT COVERED UNDER HONDA'S WARRANTY. THIS PIECE OF PLASTIC CAN ONLY BE PURCHASED AS A KIT FOR ALMOST $400 (SOMETIMES $500 IN OTHER STATES). THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS SEEING AS THOUGH I PURCHASED THE CAR BECAUSE OF ITS LOW PRICE POINT. THE FAULTY SCREWS AND SHIELD ARE NECESSARY FOR THE ENGINE'S SAFETY. THE START/OFF BUTTON TURNS THE CAR OFF WHILE IT IS BEING DRIVEN. THE CAR SHOULD HAVE TO BE IN PARK TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE. TWICE NOW I'VE ACCIDENTALLY TURNED MY CAR OFF WHILE DRIVING BY PRESSING THE START/OFF BUTTON INSTEAD OF THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS. ONCE THE CAR TURNS OFF, IT WON'T TURN BACK ON UNLESS IT'S IN PARK. SINCE I WAS ONLY GOING 30 MPH AND WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE, I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR OFF THE ROAD. I DROVE THE CAR HOME FROM WORK (APP. 15 MILES) AND PARKED IT UNDER OUR CARPORT. NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE REAR WINDOW BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE NOTICED DRIVING HOME. MY WIFE CAME HOME AND DIDN'T NOTICE ANYTHING WRONG EITHER AND SHE WOULD HAVE SEEN IT IF IT WAS. I CHANGED OUT OF MY WORK UNIFORM AND WENT OUTSIDE AND PUT IT IN THE REAR FLOORBOARD. WHEN I SHUT THE DOOR, THE HATCHBACK WINDOW SHATTERED IN A MILLION PIECES. I DON'T KNOW IF IT GOT TOO HOT BECAUSE IT'S IN FULL SUN ALL DAY OR WHAT. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT OF THE HONDA FIT IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. THE SEAT FORCES THE SHOULDERS FORWARD INTO A HUNCHED POSITION, JUST THE NECK OUT WITH THE HEAD RESTRAINT, AND CURVES THE BACK. AFTER ONLY A MONTH OF DRIVING IT I BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE NECK PAIN THAT CAUSED ME TO GO TO THE DOCTOR, THEN MASSAGE THERAPIST. CURRENTLY DUE TO THE NECK, BACK, AND HIP PROBLEMS SIGNIFICANTLY FROM THE CAR I AM IN CONSTANT, CHRONIC PAIN WHICH INCREASES AFTER JUST A FEW MINUTES IN THE CAR. I JUST FINISHED 2 MONTHS OF PHYSICAL THERAPY AND STILL HAVE 2-3 MASSAGE THERAPIST AND CHIROPRACTOR APPOINTMENTS A MONTH, PLUS A DOCTOR APPOINTMENT TO GET OUT OF THE PAIN. SINCE I'VE BEEN HOLDING DOWN THE ACCELERATOR A LITTLE BIT, EXPECTING FORWARD MOTION, WHEN POWER IS FINALLY SENT TO THE DRIVE WHEELS, THE CAR SURGES A LITTLE BIT. SINCE SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR ON JUNE 13, 2014, BAD TO AWFUL ODORS HAVE BEEN EMITTED FROM THE HVAC SYSTEM. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP FROM WHOM I PURCHASED IT HAS SERVICED IT THREE TIMES (2014/09/17 @ 4,982MI, 2014/09/27 @ 5,254MI, 2014/10/31 @ 6,589MI). EACH TIME, FOAMING AC CLEANER WAS USED. THE THIRD ONE ALSO INVOLVED REMOVING THE BLOWER ASSEMBLY (THEY CUT AWAY PART OF THE DASHBOARD TO GET IT OUT) SO THEY COULD SPRAY CLEANER DIRECTLY INTO THE EVAPORATOR BOX, THOUGH ONLY THE INLET SIDE OF THE EVAPORATOR COILS IS ACCESSIBLE. AFTER EACH SERVICE, AIR COMING OUT THE VENTS WOULD SMELL OF CLEANER FOR A FEW DAYS, THEN THE BAD SMELLS WOULD BE DONE FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN RETURN. THE THIRD SERVICE WAS THE LONGEST-LASTING, BUT BAD ODORS AND NOW MOLD SPORES STARTED COMING OUT AGAIN, FIRST NOTICEABLE IN EARLY DECEMBER 2014. IT HAS GOTTEN SO BAD I HAVE HAD SEVERAL SEVERE SYMPTOMS OF MOLD EXPOSURE, INCLUDING ITCHY THROAT AND EYES, SINUS HEADACHES, SHARP SINUS PAIN, BLOODY NASAL DISCHARGE, SOMETIMES WITH LARGE CLOTS. I'VE STARTED USING N95 OR N100 RESPIRATORS, DRIVING WITH WINDOWS OPEN AND MINIMIZING USE OF THE HVAC. THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR SMELLS MOLDY/MILDEWY WITHOUT USING THE HVAC SYSTEM; I THINK MOLD IS NOW IN THE REST OF THE INTERIOR, AND THIS CAR IS KEPT OVERNIGHT IN A DE-HUMIDIFIED GARAGE! I SUBMITTED A COMPLAINT WITH AMERICAN HONDA EARLY FEBRUARY 2015, A COMPLAINT WITH THE OHIO ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE MID-FEBRUARY AND SUBMITTED A LEMON LAW CLAIM ON 2015/03/06 TO THE ARBITRATION PROGRAM HONDA MAKES OWNERS USE. HONDA HAS BEEN UNRESPONSIVE THUS FAR. HONDA'S CELAYA, MEXICO PLANT, IN ADDITION TO LABOR ISSUES, HAD TRANSPORT TRAINS HIJACKED, WITH PARTS STOLEN FROM MANY CARS. IF THIS IS TRUE, THESE CARS SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN SOLD AS NEW! IT WOULD EXPLAIN THE LOOSE DRIVER DOOR TRIM AND REAR HATCH TRIM I FOUND ON MY CAR AND SNAPPED INTO PLACE. *TR

WHEN WE REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALER, FIRST QUESTION WAS "DO THE BRAKE LIGHTS WORK?" DEALER REPLACED BRAKE SWITCH P/N 36750-TY0-J11 AS A REPAIR ATTEMPT. SERVICE NOTED THE TECHNICIAN FELT THIS WAS THE PROBLEM AND TO LET THEM KNOW IF IT RECURS. TO-DATE (3 DAYS AFTER REPAIR - OK AT THIS TIME. 1ST OCCURRENCE TOOK 4.6K). QUESTION; DOES HONDA HAVE A BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH ISSUE? NOTE: I WAS SURPRISED THAT THE DEALER HAD THE PART IN STOCK FOR SUCH A NEW VEHICLE. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND WHEN THE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO AVOID A CRASH AFTER THE VEHICLE STOPPED ABRUPTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 373.

AFTER TWO TRIPS TO THE HONDA DEALER, WATER CONTINUES TO ACCUMULATE ON THE FLOOR BEHIND THE DRIVER SEAT, WHENEVER THE CAR IS DRIVEN THROUGH HEAVY RAINS. WE NOW HAVE ANOTHER HALF QUART OF WATER ON THE FLOOR BEHIND THE DRIVERS SET, AND BELIEVE THERE IS A SERIOUS DEFECT IN OUR 2015 HONDA FIT (A SIX SPEED). THIS MUCH WATER ON THE FLOOR CAN LEAD TO RUST, MOLD, ELECTRICAL, AND MILDEW/ PROBLEMS AND WE FEEL A NEED TO REPORT THE PROBLEM WE ARE HAVING. DEALERS TEND TO SUGGEST THAT CAR OWNERS ARE DOPES WHO LEAVE THEIR REAR WINDOWS OPEN IN THE RAIN WHEN THIS TYPE OF THING HAPPENS, BUT THAT IS NOT THE CASE. WE HAVE DOCUMENTATION OF OUR RESULTS FROM THE DEALER AND CAN PROVIDE REPORTS FROM AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC IF NEEDED. THE SEAT BELT BUCKLES IN THE BACK SEAT ON BOTH THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND IN THE CENTER OF BACK SEAT ARE REVERSED. IT CREATES CONFUSION. REAR PASSENGERS HAVE TO CROSS SEAT BELTS TO BUCKLE. I WORRY THIS MIGHT AFFECT SEAT BELT TENSION WITH HARD BRAKING OR A CRASH, THEREBY CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD. *JS

THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED A CRACKED VERTEBRAE IN THE NECK THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A BODY SHOP WHERE THE INSURANCE COMPANY DEEMED THE VEHICLE DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,300.
THE FRONT SEATS ARE REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE. THE HEAD RESTRAINTS ON THE FRONT SEATS FORCE OUR HEADS TOO FAR FORWARDS, CAUSING NECK PAINS AND SOMETIMES NECK ACHES OR HEAD ACHES. THE FRONT SEATS DON'T OFFER SUFFICIENT LUMBAR SUPPORT. AFTER 30-45 MINUTES OF RIDING OR DRIVING, OUR LOWER BACKS START TO HURT. THIS PAIN CAN LAST A WHILE AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE. THE FRONT SEAT CUSHION CUTS OFF CIRCULATION BELOW THE WAIST AFTER 40-45 MINUTES OF SITTING IN THEM. THIS NUMBS MY LEGS, WHICH CAN REDUCE REACTION TIME IN CASE I NEED TO TRY TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. *TR
THE NEW CAR TURNS OUT TO HAVE BEEN INFESTED WITH FLEAS. I DID NOT NOTICE THIS WHEN I TEST-DROVE THE CAR ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 11. DURING THE DRIVE HOME ON JUNE 13, I NOTICED WHAT I THOUGH WERE FRUIT FLIES (OR SOME OTHER INSECT THAT SIZE AND ARE BROWN AND OBLONG IN SHAPE) ON MY WRISTS, WHICH I WAVED OUT THE WINDOW. LATER THAT NIGHT, I FELT INTENSE ITCHING ON MY LOWER LEGS. I FOUND SEVERAL ABOVE THE SOCK LINE ON EACH LEG. I SUSPECTED FLEAS AND CONFIRMED IT WITH FLEA TRAPS (THE FLAT TYPE WITH STRONG ADHESIVE). MY WIFE INSISTED I TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT I THOUGHT THEY'D JUST USE A BUG/FLEA BOMB AND DO A WORSE JOB OF VACUUMING THAN I WOULD DO, SO I DECIDED TO HANDLE IT MYSELF WITH A BUG/FLEA BOMB AND INTENSE VACUUMING FOR 2 WEEKS, WHICH SEEMS TO HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM. OVER THE COURSE OF THE FIRST WEEKEND, BEFORE I STARTED THE TREATMENT, I EVENTUALLY GOT A TOTAL OF 25 FLEA BITES, MOSTLY ON MY LEGS (HIGHER THAN ON THE FIRST DAY AS I WORE SHORTS DURING THE WEEKEND DRIVES), BUT A FEW ON MY FOREARMS AS WELL. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE BITES, IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. I DIDN'T KEEP THE VACUUM BAGS OR FLEA TRAPS, UNFORTUNATELY. WHILE WORKING TO ADDRESS A POSSIBLY RELATED PROBLEM ABOUT BAD SMELLS COMING OUT OF THE VENTILATION SYSTEM (SEPARATELY REPORTED HERE AND ON CARCOMPLAINTS.COM), I LEARNED THERE WAS A WORKER WALKOUT AT THE MEXICO-BASED PLANT. I WONDER IF THE FLEAS AND ROTTING MEAT SMELL ARE RELATED TO THAT INCIDENT. *TR
UNPLEASANT SMELLS STARTED COMING OUT OF VENTS IN EARLY JULY 2014 (I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW ON JUNE 13, 2014). THEY STARTED AS SMELLING LIKE FRESH MULCH OR DOG POO, BUT BECAME MORE LIKE MOLD/MILDEW, SOMETIMES SMELLING LIKE WET DIRTY GYM SOCKS AND GETTING AS BAD AS SMELLING LIKE ROTTING MEAT. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS (ONE BY ME AND THREE BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE I'D PURCHASED THE VEHICLE) HAVE BEEN MADE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. CHEMICAL CLEANERS, REPLACING THE CABIN AIR FILTER HAVE BEEN DONE. I HAVE INSPECTED THE COWL INTAKES, CABIN AIR FILTER AND BLOWER BOX MYSELF AND THE SMELLS DO NOT EMANATE FROM THEM. I WAS INFORMED THERE WAS A WORKER WALKOUT AT THE NEW MEXICO-BASED PLANT (THE REAL REASON FOR THE LAUNCH DELAY IN THE US FROM MID-APRIL TO MID-JUNE), WHERE THE 2015 HONDA FITS FOR NORTH AMERICA ARE MADE, AND THAT MANY VEHICLES WERE LEFT STANDING WHERE THEY WERE WHEN THE WALKOUT COMMENCED, AND THE WALKOUT LASTED WEEKS. SOMEONE SHOULD INVESTIGATE THIS AND SEE WHAT ELSE MAY HAVE HAPPENED TO THESE VEHICLES WHILE THEY SAT STAGNANT DURING THE WALKOUT. *TR

THIS CHANGER THE BRACKET FOR THE BELTS FROM FORWARD FACING TO REAR FACING ALONG WITH SHIFTING THE BELTS 1.25" TO THE LEFT IF FACING THE FRONT. THIS CHANGES THE BRACKET FROM BEING IN TENSION IN AN ACCIDENT TO BEING A BENDING MOMENT. THE BELTS NOT LONGER GO THROUGH THE CENTER OF HOLES IN SEAT ASSEMBLY BUT WEAR AGAINST EDGES. I STATED THIS WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND DEMANDED THE BRACKET BE RETURN TO ORIGINAL ORIENTATION. CALL HONDA CORP 800 NUMBER THEY JUST TOOK MY NAME AND VIN NUMBER WITH OUT ANY SOLUTION. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED, THERE SUPPOSED FIX IS NOTHING MORE THAN TRYING TO GET BY WITH USING A DEFECTIVE REAR SEAT BUCKLE ASSEMBLY. *TR
