I was leaving for work, backing out of the driveway, and the brakes just locked up out of no where. I’ve done this multiple times and the brakes have never done this. I tried pulling up and trying again, turning the car off and back on, and backing a different way out of the driveway. It kept locking up on me and nothing was in the way. My husband had to eventually take me to work. The automatic braking system failed. I’m not sure if it is available for inspection upon request. At the time, my safety or anyone else’s safety was not at risk. I just worry about if it happens while I’m driving on the road. That could defiantly not only put me at risk but also other drivers. No the problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer. It just happened this morning. The vehicle has not been inspected. No warning lamps. It did pop up the car with the 3 blocks in front of it on the screen like I’ve seen before, prior to failure, but not the warning about the automatic braking system.

The CVT issue remains with this car even though I have complained. The car will randomly de accelerate and randomly accelerate which has cause minor fender bender. The car continue to studer and jerk and continues to show since of transmission issues. These cars need to be recalled before someone is seriously injured from the known CVT issues.

Odometer Fraud - The contact purchased a 2020 Nissan Altima. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 10,976. When the vehicle was later taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing, the recorded mileage was 113,000.

I am having issues with the back-up camera display on the radio screen freezing up occasionally while backing up and once it went black while backing up. I have also had dozens of issues with the drivers door not opening. Occasionally when i try to exit the vehicle the door will not fully unlatch to open. It will only partially unlatch to open a crack. I have tried locking/unlocking, shutting off the vehicle and starting the vehicle, roll down the window and try to exit using the outside handle, but was unable to exit the vehicle. The only way I could get out of the vehicle was to exit through the passenger door. After several minutes or longer it will finally open to exit. This is a severe entrapment issue. These issues have happened on multiple occasions, but did not start until after the factory warranty ended.

The “check engine” light came on - after shutting off the engine a couple times - it still came on. Took the 2020 Nissan Altima Platinum to Glendale Nissan - after a 3 hour wait they said I need a new Cam Shaft for $6,000. The car only has 42,000 miles. I took the car to get a second option - they want $9,000 to fix it. So I called Nissan to enter a claim on February 20. It took Nissan until March 9 to respond - that they would NOT give any assistance to fixing the Cam Shaft. The car was 10 months out of time warranty and 18,000 under mileage warranty - I understand time trump’s mileage. We have owned many cars the last four have been Nissan Altimas. Never have we had a catastrophic event like this with a car. At the very least this incident should be added to the records of issues with Nissan cars that might lead to a recall.

My vehicle was in a car accident and during the impact my seat belt came undone

This is my second Altima I bought. A 2016 and a 2020. Both vehicles had issues where the car door wouldn't open from the inside or outside due to the lock system. If my car is "locked" and I go to open the drivers door,. it sets off the theft alarm system. These issues cause major issues because if I get into an accident and am not able to open the car door I could possibly die from not being able to get to me fast enough, sitting too long, etc the possibilities are endless. Not to mention I get up pretty early sometimes so to hear a theft alarm at full maximum volume is frustrating to say in simple terms. Other issues include the volume on my car will randomly turn to max volume or turns off. Essentially an error electronically that affects numerous aspects and integrity of the vehicle itself.

I received a Recall # R25B1 for my Nissan Altima 2020. I visited my local Nissan Dealer in Chelmsford, MA, on December 30, 2025. They explained that they saw an issue and that I would need a new engine. There are 32,000 miles on this vehicle. They began the process but were then told by Nissan Corporate that it did not meet the requirements of the recall, and they would not be replacing it. I am in the process of heading on a long driving trip and am very concerned with how this was handled. Nissan Customer Relations explained it wasn't covered under warranty, which has nothing to do with a recall. I am very frustrated and disappointed in Nissan. The mechanics at Nissan in Chelmsford took photos and sent them to Nissan, and they still denied it. With the car only having 32000 miles on it, it was probably if anything at the beginning of the failure. Please advise on going forward.

Door lock actuator will not function properly, causing my car to “lock” with my keys inside the vehicle. This is available for inspection upon request. This is a safety hazard because my drivers side, and both back doors do not lock properly and can be accidentally opened when driving. Mount Airy Nissan has been notified of this problem and have inspected my vehicle, and agrees there’s an issue. There were no warnings or notifications displayed prior to them going out. I bought the vehicle in October of 2024 unknowing the back drivers side door lock actuator was already broken. After going into a store, and accidentally locking my keys inside the vehicle, I realized there was a problem with the lock since I was able to open the back driver side door without needing to press the unlock button on my key fob. After this realization, my back passenger side and driver side door lock actuator broke.

Need a new engine / gasket confirmed by pep boys. Been at the dealership a lot more than usual lately and they kept telling me everything is fine with my vehicle

On October 31, 2025, I noticed the Check engine light was on, after inspecting the car at the closest car shop the technician noticed white powder on the driver side knee airbag cover. Next morning I brought my vehicle to Temecula Nissan telling about airbag powder leakage. But this issue was completely ignored by the Advisor, who for some reason decided to fix another issue but ignoring my airbag issue concern. When I tried insisting to inspect the airbag saying:" I worry it may unexpectedly deploy or not deploy in case of a car accident. And my nose and throat are very irritated possibly because of inhaling the powder", the advisor looked at the airbag cover finally noticing the powder and said:" It's not a problem, we will wipe the powder off", despite my concerns. When I came to pick up my vehicle, I asked if my airbag issue was taken care of and documentations have been provided, I was told "Yes, we sent you a link". But it was no information about airbag inspection request or what work was done on it. I immediately went to speak with General manager of Temecula Nissan, who promised to inspect and fix the airbag issue next workday but nobody contact me since then and message I left for the manager on the phone was completely ignored. After filing a complaint to Nissan Consumer Affairs, I was told that nothing they can do about it and advised to get a second opinion from another Nissan dealership. So I did. Pedder Nissan Advisors took my concerns seriously, they said that it is dangerous to drive my vehicle in that condition, they did an inspection and took my car to replace the defective airbag.

Locks no longer work with key fob or button within car and sometimes even takes multiple attempts to manually unlock. This poses a danger if needed to enter or exit the car in a hurry.

I am writing to request immediate assistance regarding the recall inspection for my 2020 Nissan Altima Platinum. Last week I received a letter notifying me of an open recall and instructing me to have my vehicle inspected. I brought my car to my local Nissan dealership on Saturday. During the inspection, I was told that metal debris was found in the engine and that the vehicle would need a full engine replacement. I was asked to leave the car at the dealership and was told I would receive a loaner vehicle on Monday. After waiting all day today for an update, I was informed that Nissan declined the engine replacement because the debris found did not “qualify” under the recall. I was told the dealership would clear the debris out of the engine and that I could pick up the car tomorrow. I am very concerned about this decision. Metal debris inside an engine—especially during an active recall related to engine failure—raises serious safety and reliability issues. Simply clearing out the debris does not address the root cause or provide confidence that the vehicle is safe to drive. This matter is urgent, as I must drive more than 1,000 miles soon to take my medically complex daughter to a children’s hospital. I need to trust that my vehicle is safe for long-distance travel. I am requesting a prompt review of my case and a second evaluation to determine whether an engine replacement or another appropriate remedy is necessary to ensure my vehicle’s safety.

3 out of 4 of my doors have to be locked and unlocked by hand instead of using my Nissan key button to unlock my car. 3 of the motors are bad or it's some kind of electrical issue that goggle says is common in 2019 to 2020 Nissan Altimas. I feel like I shouldn't have to pay out of pocket myself to get this fixed if it's a noted common issue on goggle.

Unknown. The engine started have overheating issues but never was ran in the overheated zone. We took the car to the dealer and was told the head was cracked. We questioned how that was possible if we never ran it in the overheated zone. We were told they did not know but that several other Customers in the last few weeks have had the same issue. Then we heard about the recall but was told our car was not affected. It needs to be reevaluated. We never ran the car hot.

All 4 door lock actuators have failed, no warning lamps indicating this issue, first appeared in 2024. Car has been broken into as a result

2020 Nissan Altima involved in a 3 car collision. Altima was rear ended by a vehicle travelling approximately 50 MPH and forced Altima to rear end the vehicle in front of it. Vehicle is a total loss. No air bags deployed.

My driver door does not lock and unlock automatically. This poses a risk because my door remains unlocked when I think that it is locked. Also, I have to go in through the backseat of the passenger seat in order to get in my car posing risk of someone coming up behind me. I had the back actuators replaced a couple of years ago, I asked about the front since the car was still under warranty and I was told they would not replace them since they were not acting up at the time. I was told at one point it would be around $800 to have the front ones repaired. The lock has been working intermittently probably for the last year and a half, but have now completely quit working.

THE VEHICLE HAS ACTIVATED A FALSE AEB ON SEVERAL OCASSIONS SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. Many times while I'm driving, I feel a jerky motion. when I am at a stop light, and proceed to hit the accelerator, it will not pick up. I have lost power, the car will jerk while I'm driving. The RPM will rave go up. It's very dangerous because I can be driving and the engine will lose or reduced power. I get a whining sound, like my transmission, is gonna go out.

My car is said malfunction Loss of engine power

Since August of 2024 I noticed that my vehicle had strange noises coming from the engine and I was having a coolant loss but did not see anything on the ground. I then took my car to Nissan in New Orleans and they were recommending that I replace my entire engine. I’m not sure of their findings but still to this moment my vehicle still makes the same noise from the engine and still is having a coolant loss. I did notice that the coolant is overfilling in the reservoir tank and leaks out.

Windshield Wiper Fluid Reservoir sensor going on even when reservoir is full. Gives drivers a warning light which is very distracting. If you go on line, this appears to be an extremely common problem that Nissan has not addressed. This can lead people to not know if they have fluid in reservoir as they will eventually ignore warning light or disconnect sensor (the two most common solutions in Nissan Altima forum).

My 2020 Nissan Altima Door actuators are all currently broken. The doors will not unlock with the fob and have to be manually unlocked. This can cause a huge safety issue if they are unable to be unlocked.

This car is going to kill me! It randomly hits the brakes on the highways! I am literally driving a deadly weapon. I turn the emergency brakes off and had it checked and STILL brakes. It break everytime I pass a shade spot on the road and even highway going over 60 miles per hour! It hits the breaks while I am in traffic making the driver behind me almost hit my car. It breaks whenever I go under a tree. It breaks when I am in a parking garage when there are NO cars around. It breaks randomly in traffic with no cars too close by to create a collision. It breaks in front of a school bus that was driving close behind me. It hit the breaks going 30 miles per hour. If the school bus would have hit me then that would be child endangerment. The bus driver thought I would break checking him but it was hard to explain it was my emergency breaks. It’s been getting so bad that I am writing a complaint until something can be fixed or changed. It’s ruined my breaks in general from always setting off the emergency breaks. It is not even emergency breaking, it’s breaking to kill at given moment. It’s ruining my car and my ability to drive! This is not correct and it’s keeps going off even more. I am scared to even drive it. This has been happening since I got the car but for the past year since I turned off the sensor, it’s gotten SO much worse. It can turn deadly on my end or someone else’s. This was not properly designed for safety. It’s doing the exact opposite. This happens literally every week! So there is not way of giving you every single date nor do I have the time to wipe my phone out to take a video during those moments because it’s random.

The tire rod assembly disconnected and caused a near miss accident. The steering was no longer intact. The car had to be towed and repaired to the nearest auto repair shop.

Description of the Problem: For the past three years, my vehicle has experienced intermittent and sudden loss of power while driving, including on the highway. The issue is ongoing and has not been resolved despite having the throttle body replaced three separate times, totaling approximately $4,500 in repairs. Each replacement has resulted in the exact same malfunction: the car enters limp mode, drastically reducing power, which is especially dangerous when my children are in the vehicle. Component/Inspection: The issue appears to involve the throttle body and possibly the CVT transmission or related electrical system. The component has been replaced multiple times and is available for inspection if needed. The problem has been witnessed and confirmed by Midas of Palm Bay, FL and Nissan of Melbourne, FL. Manufacturer Involvement: I reached out to Nissan, but they refused to assist with the repairs or offer any support. Warning Signs/Symptoms: Before the failure, the check engine light comes on, followed by a warning message that reads “Engine Malfunction.” Immediately after, the vehicle loses power and cannot accelerate normally.

The forward collision warning sensor,the rear collision sensor and the traction lights turns on and off from time to time . The transmission seems like its been force to accelerate

1 of 2 problems! 1 the passenger head light seems to be leaking water into the headlight and blurring vission forwards and gives a blurring illusion and mabe shorting out the headlight. 2 the windshield wipers liquid sencer showes it needs windshield wipers fluid when it's full. The light on the dashboard keeps flashing showing this and keeps the odometer blocked.

On the way to work a warning error message came across the dash board saying “ Engine Malfunction Power reduced. Service now” then is turned off. The engine light didn’t come on until a month later saying P0101. P0101 was fixed but the engine malfunction still comes and goes.

Rear camera malfunctions after trunk is opened, screen goes purple, pixilated, or jumpy.

My issue began 1 month after buying the vehicle. Regardless if I'm on the highway or back road no transition from one lane to another needs to be initiated , my whole dash will light up red and the car will come to a complete stop , at this time I just hold on and brace myself .Im a RN w/2 kids I went back to the dealer they said they checked it out but on my own I found out the car was in 2 accidents those things were not revealed to me during the buying process. I didn't know how to report this Im pretty ignorant to this type of thing however I did complain to gm by way of phone few times I called early on. No one at the dealership will help. Im literally in fear of me and my children's life. I test my luck because I don't know what else to do and can't afford another vehicle. Please help this complete dead stop sometimes turns the back end of my vehicle if im going over 70 when it stops, for this reason I drive like 40mph. I hope knowing this issue you can help there is no reason I know of for this incident which is now happening approximately once a week. The brake switch keeps coming loose making it difficult to start the car when pressing the brake down. When the switch is not secure, the electrical connection is lost and it is very hard to press the brake down. What if this happens in the middle of traffic? The issue also causes the brake lights to remain on and not turn off. This has to be a faulty part. My car is a 2020 and the it's too soon for wear and tear.

I have a 2020 Nissan Altima SR that both rear door lock actuators have randomly gone out resulting in my back doors not unlocking in case of an emergency. My doors also do not lock with any of the buttons, and if I forget to manually lock my rear doors, they are left unlocked and someone can break into my car, resulting in injury.

While accelerating from a complete stop, the car stalled with tires, powertrain, and steering wheel all locked. For 15 seconds, the steering wheel, tires, and car was unable to be manipulated. During acceleration, the speed was less than 15mph when it came to an abrupt stop. Another car behind me almost hit me when my car came to a stop. Car was just serviced for another warranty issue a few months ago by Nissan dealership.

I noticed a month ago I was driving and both the rear and front emergency braking lights came on in my dashboard but the car never actually began to brake. Fast forward to today when I was backing in to park my car and the emergency brake engaged and I could not back in. Nothing was around me, I wipe off the sensor and it still would not let me back in. I had to turn off the emergency brake system just to back up my car.

•My driver’s seat motor tract assembly failed to move back & forth. It can be available for inspection. •My Safety was @ risk due to the seat inability to move back & forth. My foot couldn’t reach the accelerator or the brakes because the seat malfunctioned while the seat was moved so that I could get out of the car. •The problem has been confirmed & inspected by the Nissan Dealership where I purchased the car. •No, there were no warning signs or messages that indicated the seat malfunctioning. • This driver seat motor tract assembly has failed 2 times now. •The first time the seat motor tract malfunctioned was on 07/08/2023. The Dealership stated that a small comb was lodged in the tract. There was N/C. •The second time the seat motor tract malfunctioned was on 06/13/2024. There was nothing blocking the seats’ movement. The Dealership charged me $175.99 to find out what was causing the seat to fail again. The serviceman said that he beat on the motor until the seat eventually moved. It was stated that I’d have to replace the seat motor tract assembly if it malfunctions again.

I was driving on the Freeway and without warning my car reduced speed. Then there was a warning bell that showed engine malfunction power reduced. Then the check engine light came and my rear and front warning indicator came on

Trunk latch broke entirely, cannot shut trunk and cannot repair myself. Did not slam trunk lid, just shut normally.

Engine failed prematurly with less than 40k miles. All service was completed in a timely fashion. Nissan is taking a long time to get back to me with what next steps are. They are still investigating after 10 days. Pls help.

Unable to open driver’s door from the inside of the vehicle. To exit the car I have to climb over and exit through passenger door or roll down the window and open the door from the outside handle. This is a potential safety concern of not be able to get out of the car in an emergency or injuring myself when I have to climb over the console to exit through passenger door. This issue has bot been resolved and is still a concern.

Unpredictably vehicle acceleration is delayed by approximately 3-4 seconds. Car then proceeds to take off after transmission kicks in. I almost got hit by a semi during a left turn. And similar near miss incidents have occurred. Car also fails to accelerate in a predictable manner when needed rpm goes up but vehicle will stall/hesitate. The vehicle is under warranty and has been to the dealer 3 times. They will not perform any maintenance on the vehicle. Saying it needs to be replicated in person. The Issue is not easily replicated, but when the issue presents itself, it poses a great safety risk to occupants in the vehicle and all drivers/pedestrians on the road around the vehicle. This seems to be a known issue by Nissan but they fail to implement a recall or any other corrective action. I can provide invoices/Statements of work but will have to retrieve them from the dealer. I also have video evidence of the issues occurring. Dealer has seen the videos but refuses to repair, replace, or recompensate for the issues listed above off the videos alone.

This has been happening multiple times since December 25th, 2023. Presently, it's in the shop for the 6th time. This orange light comes on and then right after the vehicle just stops or slows down. Nothing is in front of or behind me. It's random...happens at night or anytime during the day and it stops itself while driving. It has been taken to the dealership 6 times since December and the problem has not been remedied. It is scary getting into the vehicle every time because I wonder, will it happen today? And what if someone is behind me? That could cause a major accident with injuries.

All four door lock actuators have failed when the car was only 2 years old. We have lived with it but this seems to happen and could be a safety issue.

My 2020 Nissan Altima is having issues with the transmission . When you accelerate the engine Jerks, Vibrates , Shutters. It hesitates even when stopping acts like it doesn’t want to shift into another gear . My Tires are always loosing air as well . The Front of my car is always making a sound think suspension issues .

Vehicle goes into limp mode (shows all engine warring signs flashing ) and my speed goes down to 5-15 miles. This happens instantly and my car will jerk and basically stop where it is at. This is happening when the temp. is below 0 and it is snowing. There is no warring or time to get out of the way of traffic and on the hwy cars are coming up on you. Someone can hit you from behind instantly when this happens. My vehicle has been towed twice to the dealer and i have filed 3 complaints with NIssan consumer care but this is not resolved. All they can do is reset the computer each time. The dealer tells me this is happening all the time but they can not get it do duplicate when they have it . I have 18K miles and this has happened 3 times in total.

I bought a used (7,000 miles) 2020 Nissan Altima 2.5 SV. Bought the car on January (18-19th) 2022 with a clean Car Fax. Then, on August 12, 2022 at 17,500 approximate miles the transmission failed. I was driving and suddenly the engine light came on and the car was being strange. Slight shaking, vibration, and delayed acceleration plus a few other details I cannot recall. I immediately went to the dealership since I was nearby and I did not feel that the car was safe to drive. Then I left it there for over a month (all with no loaner vehicle because they had none) and they said they needed to get me a new transmission. Needing a new transmission so soon, is not normal. The dealership even said this, but also said it is unfortunately an issue they see with their CVT transmissions. I had no prior symptoms, and this was very sudden. I had even called them to let them know I was on the way, and they said if I was not close-by that I should tow the car in because it might not be safe. It could have caused an accident if I had driven for longer, so I consider myeslf lucky and hope that other people do not have the same expierence.

I bought a used (7,000 miles) 2020 Nissan Altima 2.5 SV. Bought the car January (18-19th) 2022. The same week I bought it I noticed a noise coming from the right side of the car. I would later come to find out it was a wheel bearing, which when not fixed can lead to some serious safety concerns. The wheel can potentially come off during driving! At high speeds in particular, that is dangerous. I am glad it did not happen to me, but it could have caused fatal accidents. Anytime I made turned my wheel to the right I heard a low droning/humming/vibrating noise from the opposite side. It was more pronounced with speed and depth of turn. These turns do not have to be very deep; most highways have curves in them, and this is when I would hear the noise. It usually began at speeds of 50-60mph, but as the issue became more pronounced over time (this took a whole year to resolve) this changed, and I was able to hear it from 30-40mph. Nissan did not want to warranty this at first, at multiple dealership locations. More time passed and I noticed the wheel bearing noise getting more and more pronounced. I brought it to another dealership that was not a Nissan dealership, and they said it’s clearly the wheel bearing. That’s the first time I had been told what this could possibly be. I brought it to the local Nissan dealership after this, so I could get this done under warranty. Remember, this has been happening since I bought the car, and I am at less than 17k mileage. I told them I was concerned about the wheel bearing and that I thought this was the issue, and it was more pronounced now than in the past. They said, "the car is fine" and that the noise it’s “normal.” I asked how a loud noise happening only conditionally and to only one side of the car was “normal”, and he had no reply for that. Months later the noise is became incredibly disturbing, and I spoke with the manager, and they finally fixed the wheel bearing under warranty.

Transmission went out at 145k miles

1. Power steering cuts off while driving. Occurs intermittently -- once every two weeks or so. I am guessing that the intermittent nature of this is why more have not reported it. Warning lights show on dash indicating ABS, etc. but codes disappear when car is turned off and back on. Yes, you can inspect this. We bought a BlueDriver OBDII with an app because we couldn't capture this and the dealer couldn't recreate the problem. I have the records of the codes. We were able to get the vehicle to the dealer while still running and they are fixing it by replacing the ABS computer (at significant cost). 2. Sudden loss of power steering could result in a major accident -- especially in emergency situations, at higher speeds or if the driver was weaker/smaller. My wife drives this car, and it was a major shock when this happened. Fortunately, she was moving less than 30 mph when this happened -- and she was not trying to avoid an accident. 3. The problem has been reconfirmed by Regal Nissan Service at this time. [XXX] See above for description of how hard it was to capture this condition. 4. The component has been deemed unworking. I believe that the dealer is just replacing it, however, vs, in-depth diagnosing at the corporate level. 5. The warning lights come on at the same time the power steering stops. There is absolutely no pre-warning. We have no idea if the ABS system also stops working because conditions were dry, speed was low, no slamming on of brakes -- but I am guessing that the ABS also wouldn't work. That's a guess. The forward emergency braking system on my vehicle disables itself. I receive a message stating "front laser obstructed". There is no obstruction on vehicle. I relly on the emergency braking system to give me a heads up on possible forwars collision. Problem started around 50000 miles. It went away for a few months then came back

Tie rod ball joint snapped and broke at 15mph causing vehichle to loose control and forced off-road into a fence post. No Collison warning or lane departure warning. I had the vehichle towed back to dealership Nissan Wesley chapel. I was in process of possibly purchasing vehichle. Couldn’t find financing for me so received a letter rescinding their transaction. My ins agency Esurance concluded it a tota loss. Never heard back from Nissan or my ins. agency on what caused it to break. Everytime I asked I was never given a response. I have several photos of vehichle and found a recall for tie rod and ball joint fasteners on same make and year. Would like some answers to this safety issue being if I was going faster I could have been killed. 2 days prior to accident began hearing clicking noise when going over speed bump. Took vehichle for private inspection and a vehicle system scan reported systems w/codes for intelligent cruise control/advanced driver assistance system and laser/radar.

The information system head unit crashes (reboots) on demand when a MS Teams call is answered or initiated via CarPlay. Crashing of the head unit is 1) very distracting to the driver 2) avoiding it requires attention and ability to first determine incoming call is from MS Teams and then reaching down and unplugging the phone prior to answering it, causing a loss of Navigation and yet more attention loss 3) This loss of attention can cause lane deviation, lack of following traffic signals and other incidents. Problem is universal in Nissan head units in this series, google Nissan Head Unit Teams for tens of thousands of hits. Dealer and Nissan corp notified and ignore the problem. Nissan's partner in infotainment, Renault had the same exact issue and corrected it with an over the air update so it is easily fixed. Dealer inspected, MS and Apple as well, both say head unit firmware is at fault. Failure has occurred from day one, car is defective because of this significant cause of distraction. Please get this fixed before people die (if they have not already)

Vehicle caught on fire while inside home @ 4:00am cst. Fire department and police department were at the scene as well. Fire department was forced to pry open the trunk to stop fire from spreading. Police gave police report at the scene due to the incident. State Farm is involved as well as the investigation team currently. State Farm insurance informed me to provide this information.

I've taken my car for repair service 4 times due to a malfunction warning and front driving aids off warning. They replaced speed sensor as well as cv axle as well as a hub and bearing and it still is not driving right and has almost caused me accidents with my children in the car to where I pulled over and cried I was scared to continue driving. Transmissions seem to jerk a lot when slowing down and picking up speed again, also all 4 door locks have gave out being unable to lock or unlock the doors using the bottom or key, this is a hazard especially if you have children sitting in the back seats

Key system error Started a few months ago. It happens at random and when it does the car won't start. It on occasion will come on while driving which I read can cause loss of control and not being able to turn the vehicle off.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned and is available for inspection upon request? On June 6th, the vehicle started losing power when accelerating, happened at night when driving back home, and scared me because there were no lights indicating any issues. The following day, less than a mile from the dealership, all the dashboard lights turned on, the vehicle lost complete power, and then i turned vehicle off and try to turn it back on but it didn't started. I called a tow truck and left it at the dealer. They informed me that they would provide me with the reason for the failure by the end of the afternoon. I was later informed by the dealership that there was an electrical problem with the transmission system. The system failure was related to a power train not getting communication due to a broken/damage wire harness that was close to the left side powertrain/engine mount. The harness was damaged because of the engine mount bolts broke and metal part of the mount cut part of the harness, creating an electrical short to the powertrain system as seen in the attached photos. This kind of short can definitely create heat into the harness that could have gotten my car to catch fire. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the same dealer informed me about the damage, and they themselves were puzzled because they couldn't find an explanation for how this could happen, but they did not take any ownership by the fact that that defective engine mount could have had me into a major accident if I was driving in the highway. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? All the work was carried out at the dealership itself. And I don't think that the dealership send any notification to the manufacturer about the early failure of such an important component but going through different mechanics shops they all share the same opinion that the......

The forward collision warning light comes on saying their is a malfunction. It stays on for a couple of days, and then it goes away and comes back again a couple of days later. I had my sister husband hook up a diagnostic scanner on the car, and he said that it displayed no error codes for the problem. I believe this should be a safety recall because i noticed a lot of people driving the 2020 nissan altima have the same problem as me.

Vehicle was in two different front end collisions one of which the whole front end is destroyed including the windshield and the airbags DID NOT deploy.

All 4 door actuators have gone out. I cannot lock or unlock my car with the key fob or manually with the key from the outside. The driver side door is unable to be manually locked/unlocked causing me to get locked in and out of my car randomly. Within the last month, it has gotten more frequent with the driver said. The rear doors went bad months ago. The passenger door started approximately 2 months ago and the driver door within the last month. This was confirmed by Modern Nissan in Winston Salem, NC on 06/10/2023 and I got a second opinion on 06/16/2023 who also confirmed all 4 door actuators needed to be replaced. There were no warning lights or messages.

I just recently had my brakes done & the ABS light came on, along with the brake light, then the rear & front automatic emergency braking sensor lights came on as well. My independent repair shop did a diagnostic & said it was a Faulty ABS pump went out. They also told me to take to the dealership to get it looked at too.

When making a routine right-hand turn, the steering system failed. Driver had an unresponsive vehicle which crashed into a bridge rail. Driver was taken for medical attention. No warning lights prior to the crash. Vehicle has only been serviced by the dealer Nissan Peacock of Houston since purchased in December of 2019. A vehicle recall (NHTSA Campaign ID: 21V138000) was issued for this year, make, and model, but not for this particular VIN. This recall was for the tie rod ball joint fasteners.

During a Code scan on the vehicle, the Intelligent driver assistance system Showed to refer to OEM repair manual for code description repair. The next day the vehicle crashed at 15 mph due to loss of control. Tie rod broke causing vehicle to crash and tire was detached. Vehicle is available to inspect. No warning lamps or message other then scan results .

Caught on fire, burst into flames within minutes of seeing smoke. My son barely got out before it blew up. His dog in the backseat unfortunately didn’t make it out. Would like investigation on what could have caused this. Before someone else loses theryre life

I was driving the car at about 70 mph on the expressway and it just randomly de-accelerated dripping from 70-34 mph and would not allow me to accelerate and then proceeded to shut down stating engine stall I almost got hit from the back when the car de-accelerated and couldn’t do anything about it after about 10-15 seconds I pressed the gas again and it took off abruptly. I’m scared to drive my car anywhere that I’ll get hit if my car de-accelerates again. Nissan can’t replicate the issue to come up with a conclusion.

I have been noticing electrical issues with the vehicle that have been going unresolved. This is the third time I'm taking it to a dealership. On 15 Nov 2022 the vehicle gave a frontal collision warning with no other vehicles around it felt like the emergency braking system engaged because the brakes became solid as a rock. I had to put the car into park and restart the vehicle to begin driving again. Then on 16 Nov 2022 the car battery was dead around 4:48 pm and I had to get the taco shop's help, they gave me jumper cables and my wife's co-worker got the car started. Now, 18 Nov 2022 the vehicle is in another dealership waiting to see what they say and the car is staying the weekend to be evaluated.

MY BATTERY COUGHT FIRE AS I WAS DRIVING ALL OF A SUDDEN

Crash Malfunction is randomly coming on while driving. It comes on even when there is NO vehicle in front of you. It comes on at random speeds from 2 to 40 MPH. I feel that if there was a warning, it may not come on. Problem has been going Vehicle is being inspected by Nissan today however the technician cannot duplicate the issue since it is random. It has come on 12 times in the past 15 days.

1. The volume knob for the radio is VERY touchy. Turns all the way up when trying to turn it down. 2. When I have cruise control on and am trying to avoid getting hit by a car that has gone too far out of their lane, the lane keeping assistant will fight me for control. 3. If labe assistance is fighting me for control then that means it's not detecting that a car is too close to me. 4. Back up camera image became garbled like it was getting bad TV reception. 5. Car hesitates at times or gets a sudden burst of speed. I am in the beginning stages of making this list to take to the dealership; so they have not checked the car yet.

When first purchased car headlights on passenger side did t work. They had to change the computer system. Had car whole week to complete. Then had to straighten the hood because it was off track. Now they states I have to get axle gears dropped and greased. Only had car 3 months and warranty doesn’t covers anything. States I need fuel induction and injection serviced

Driving on the freeway car started losing power, pulled over and then caught fire in matter of minutes the whole car was engulfed in flames. Fire department said it was an electrical fire near the battery and the fire wall on the driver side.

Driving car on the freeway and car lost power. Turned the car off and checked all the fluids to make sure they were at proper levels and found no issue. Started car back up and then started smoking, open the hood and an electric fire had started, tried putting out with a fire extinguisher and it did nothing 2 min later the whole car was in flames.

Its not unknown. I arrived at work on Thursday the 12th of May, AT 8:00 A.M. I work in an Industrial Park where there is no traffic. My car was looking great, I put my sunshade cover up and proceeded to go into work. After working all day I came out to my car and my windshield was crack starting from the top of the car and flowering down. Nothing hit my car on my way into work, and actually there is nothing that shows it was hit a all. This is a factory defect and there are bubbles when the glue or whatever they use is a mess.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that no issues were found; however, the failure reoccurred. Additionally, the contact stated while the vehicle was parked, she shifted into drive(D) and depressed the accelerator pedal however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact was unable to drive the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle would be repaired at her own expense. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle could not be repaired under the power train warranty due to the mileage. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000. The VIN was not available.

First, the chip has started to malfunction around 13k miles. Secondly, there is a lurch when the car first starts and an aggressive RPM jump and then drop, it begins to run fine upon warming up alittle. Now, at 20k miles the car is having issues with the wipers not spraying the windows well and the rear passenger door has to be locked manually from the interior.

While I was parking the car suddenly accelerated rapidly, causing me to hit the parked vehicle in front of me. I have not yet had the car inspected.

After exiting the vehicle flames and smoke could be seen coming from under the steering wheel. The fire department was called to the scene and extinguished the flames. The failure mileage was 17,930.

The washer fluid motor or spray nozzles design is defective. I’ve been to my dealership multiple times they have replaced the pumps and gone through the whole set up and said there’s nothing that can be done. When dirt and dust are on the windshield and you want to spray it off is when the problem arises. The fluid is only sprayed on the lower portion of the windshield and does not spray the part that needs sprayed the middle and top where you look out off. This is not only a hindrance but could be a safety issue when your visual path is compromised. The dealer said they were putting in complaints and hopefully the engineers or design team looks at it as a problem. I hope this grabs the attention of the people that can make safety issues known and hopefully something is put in the motion to fix this. Thanks

The contact stated while she had the vehicle serviced for oil maintenance at the local dealer, she had heard an abnormal noise but the dealer stated it was normal. The contact stated the next day while her nephew was driving 15 MPH and making a right turn, the tie rod detached from the vehicle. The contact stated he was not aware of any warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not drivable. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V138000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the tie rod to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 21,039.

When braking there is a popping noise coming from the front of the car. And the Foward Braking light comes on for 5-10 mins of driving time then goes off

The back up camera froze and it kept glitching. This has been happening since May. Everything else seems to be fine while it’s happening but now it’s stuck like that when I try to back up. This is extremely dangerous as cars are now made with backup cameras as a safety feature. If that feature is broken it’s going to be very bad. Most drivers now a day most every driver relies on this feature. This has happened 5 times now, but this time it seems permanent.

My windshield cracked on the front passenger side out of nowhere...meaning not any reason for it to do so. First it was on the passenger's side which I originally assumed that something/somebody must have hit it while parked at my child's school. I took it to AAA Glass to get an estimate and was told that that usually a windshield does not do that unless it is 3 years old. My car is a 2020!!! Then my car was parked in my driveway all weekend and when I got in it, I noticed that the driver's windshield area was cracked. Finding this VERY usual, I did a google check to discover that several drivers have had the SAME problem with the SAME year, SAME model and SAME make of the car. A YouTube video of their car even showed it is the SAME area that I experience the crack. I called the dealership and was told there wasn't a recall and they offered no assistance. I called Nissan and am waiting on them to return my car. With so many people having this issue, it is worrisome. This is a safety issue and a recall should be done immediately to avoid any accidents or injury/harm to those that sit in the front seat. I am not getting anywhere and hope that this complaint and others are taken seriously. Thank you!

All of a sudden, heard a very loud bang and the back window shattered and was pushed outward. We were driving slow and in an open space; nothing hit the window. It did not have any prior cracks or chips in it. This issue has been reported with other Nissan Altimas, however my specific VIN did not fall under this recall.

I brought this car last year of 2020 and I had my car for a year and a half and all of a sudden my drive train is making noise, to a point people on the street thinks it’s gum shots. My car already passed inspection way before this started. I took it back to the place I got it from they had no loaners I have to wait a week to come in I have to drive the car to work and I’m scared it’s gonna lock or break down on me my car should not be having these problems I have receipts of me taking car of my car to ensure nothing happens. Then all of a sudden my airbag lights come so if someone did hit me my airbags would not deploy.

I was driving home and my steering wheel locked up on me while my car was in motion. I eased on down the road thinking that it locked because of a safety warning, but it never unlocked. I eased my car onside the road and put it in park. While in park, the power steering light appeared on the dashboard. Once I turned my car off, the steering wheel was still locked. This risked my safety because I was not able to control my vehicle.

PARKED THE CAR FOR ROUGHLY 10 MINUTES. CAME BACK AND STARTED CAR WITH ALL LIGHTS ON DASH ILLUMINATED. I LEASED A 2020 NISSAN ALTIMA SL IN JANUARY. 2020. I'VE BEEN IN ISOLATION FOR 13 MONTHS BECAUSE OF A HIGH RISK OF CONTRACTING COVID19. I TURNED ON MY CAR PERIODICALLY AND SAW AN ALERT ON THE DASHBOARD.I CALLED THE MANAGER OF CONTINENTAL NISSAN WHERE I LEASED THE CAR. HE TOLD ME IT HAD TO DO WITH THE REAR SENSORS AND ADVISED ME TO WIPE THEM, WHICH I DID. HOWEVER, WHEN I BACKED UP MY CAR TODAY THE REAR SENSORS DID NOT GO OFF WHEN I GOT VERY CLOSE TO MY NEIGHBOR'S GARAGE DOOR. I HAVE A CASE #43362334. THE NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY REPAIRS TO THE REAR SENSORS, WHICH IS PREPOSTEROUS. SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE I'VE HAD TWO INSTANCES THAT I FEEL ARE DEFECT RELATED. THE TIRE INDICATOR LIGHTS CONTINUED TO READ LOW AIR. MY VISIBILITY IS OBSTRUCTED DUE TO ALL WINDOWS RETAINING DEW AND MOISTURE CAUSING FOG TO APPEAR IN ALL WINDOWS. IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING EARLY MORNING & AT DAWN DURING TEMPERATURE CHANGES. THE DEFROST DOESN'T CLEAR THE WINDOWS. DURING RAINY WEATHER THE CAR IS COMPLETELY DISABLED DUE THE OBSTRUCTION IN VISION FROM THE THICKLY FOGGED WINDOWS. CAR SLAMMING ON BRAKES WHEN NO OTHER VEHICLE IS AROUND GAS GUAGE START TO READ WRONG

DURING COLD TEMPERATURES THE CAR ACCELERATES POORLY, ENGINE RPM IS UNUSUAL. AT LEAST ONE INSTANCE OF THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATES WITH A "SERVICE NOW" MESSAGE DISPLAYED. IN ALL CASES THE VEHICLE ENGINE WAS RUNNING, IN (SLOW) MOTION, AND ON A CITY STREET AND ONE INCIDENT ON A HIGHWAY GOING STRAIGHT AHEAD. A SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF A NISSAN DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY STATED THAT THEY HAVE RECEIVED MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF THIS NATURE ABOUT THIS CALL YEAR AND MODEL.

CONSTANT AND REOCCURRING ISSUE'S PERTAINING TO THE VEHICLES STEERING WHEEL SHAKING, WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND TIRE BALANCING NEVER COMPTED BY NISSAN OF BAYSHORE. I'VE BEEN SUFFERING PHYSICAL AND MENTAL INSTABILITY FROM WORK RELATED DUTIES, AND THIS WAS THE LAST THING I NEEDED. A VEHICLE THATS UNRELIABLE AND POTENTIALLY POORLY MANUFACTURED. THE COLLISION LIGHTS KEEP COMING ON I HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR TO NISSAN NOW ABOUR 4/5 TIMES AND HAVE TO TAKE IT AGAIN AS THE PROBLEM IS NEVER RESOLVED. I WROTE TO CORPORATE AND WAS BRUSHED OFF. DURING A SNOW STORM A COUPLE WEEKS AGO IN COLORADO MY 2020 NISSAN ALTIMA'S FORWARD COLLISION ADAS KICKED IN LOCKING UP MY BREAKS CAUSING ME TO SLIDE INTO A CURB AND NEARLY REAR END ANOTHER VEHICLE ALSO CAUSING ALIGNMENT ISSUE'S AND PROBLEMS WITH THE TRACTION SYSTEM. DUE TO LOCKING THE BRAKES THIS ACCIDENT WAS CAUSED. IT WAS ON A CITY STREET WHILE I WAS IN MOTION HOWEVER THE FORWARD COLLISION KICKED IN WAY EARLY AND SLAMMED THE BRAKES WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IN COLD AND WET ROAD CONDITIONS. THERE IS A STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY ISSUE NEAR THE CARS SUSPENSION WHERE A ROD IS ROUNDED AT THE ENDS, BUT FLAT IN THE CENTER AND WHEN THE COLLISION WITH CURB HAPPENED IT BENT THAT BAR AT THE FLAT PART CAUSING THE ALIGNMENT ISSUE. THIS ACCIDENT ALSO CAUSED MY CAR TO LIFT OFF THE GROUND ABOUT 6 INCHES AND TO DRIVE STRAIGHT REQUIRED ME TO TAKE ONE WHOLE LANE OF TRAFFIC AND TURN MY STEERING WHEEL 90 DEGREES TO STAY STRAIGHT AND ON THE ROAD. THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR THIS SYSTEM TO REACT AS IS DID AS IF IT DID NOT REACT I HAD PLENTY OF TIME AND SPACE AND WOULDN'T HAVE WRECKED. THE SPEED LIMIT IN THE AREA IS 15MPH AND I WAS GOING NO MORE THAN 10MPH DUE TO THE SNOW AND FROZEN ROADS. THIS HAS GIVEN ME MIGRAINES AND I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH MY WRISTS, NECK, BACK AND RIBS DUE TO THE WHIPLASH CAUSED AS THE CAR ENDED UP SPEEDING UP HEADING INTO THE CRASH DUE TO THE ABRUPT HARD SLAM OF THE BRAKES CAUSED BY THE FORWARD COLLISION ON ICY ROADS. REPLACED TIRE AFTER BRING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SHOWING THEM THE DEFECTIVE TIRE, THEY THEN CHARGE ME 200 AND SOME ODD DOLLARS TO FIX IT NOW THERE'S A RECALL ON IT I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THEY'RE REFUSING TO GIVE ME A REFUND MADE ME CALL NISSAN CORPORATE NISSAN CORPORATE RESPONSE WAS THEY DON'T MAKE TIRES

MY BACKUP CAMERA SEEMS TO BE DISPLAYING THE SAME ISSUES THAT ENDED UP IN THE 2019 NISSAN ALTIMA BEING RECALLED. IT WAS WORKING CORRECTLY. NOW, WHENEVER I SHIFT INTO REVERSE, IT SHOWS A BLANK SCREEN ONLY FOR THE BACKUP CAMERA. ALL MY OTHER CAMERAS ARE OPERATING FINE. THE REAR SONAR STILL WORKS, BUT THE BACKUP CAMERA WILL NOT DISPLAY ANY IMAGES. I HAVE CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THAT THE CAMERA IS STILL WHERE IT SHOULD BE, AND IT IS. I'VE TRIED SHUTTING DOWN MY VEHICLE, EXITING AND LOCKING PROPERLY AND THEN RE-ENTERING AND STARTING UP THE VEHICLE BEFORE TESTING THE BACKUP CAMERA. STILL NO IMAGE.

TIRE CONCERN WAS INITIALLY INDICATED WITH A MILD (~26 PSI) LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING. AFTER STOPPING TO INSPECT, NO DEBRIS OR OTHER INDICATION OF PUNCTURE WAS NOTED, SO PRESSURE WAS ADDED TO RETURN TO FACTORY SETTINGS. HOWEVER, HOURS LATER AND AT HIGHWAY SPEED, LOW TIRE PRESSURE INDICATION RETURNED (TO A SIMILAR LOW VALUE IN THE MID-20'S, FOLLOWED WITHIN MINUTES BY SUDDEN PRESSURE DROP AND TIRE DISINTEGRATION. VEHICLE CONTROL WAS COMPROMISED DUE TO SUDDEN TIRE FAILURE. UPON TIRE REMOVAL AT SIDE OF FREEWAY, I NOTED THAT THE INTERIOR TIRE SIDEWALL WAS MISSING SUBSTANTIAL CHUNKS OF RUBBER, A CLASSIC "BLOW OUT." THE NEXT DAY A VERY CAREFUL INSPECTION BY LOCAL DISCOUNT TIRE STORE REVEALED ABSOLUTELY ZERO INDICATION OF PRE-FAILURE PRESSURE LOSS: NO NAIL OR OTHER DEBRIS PUNCTURES IN ANY PART OF THE REMAINING TIRE, AND ZERO/NO INDICATION OF PRIOR LOW-PRESSURE OPERATION (WHICH COULD LEAD TO TIRE OVERHEATING AND SUBSEQUENT FAILURE). STRONGLY SUSPECT EITHER A MAJOR CONSTRUCTION OR MATERIAL DEFECT WAS LIKELY CAUSE OF THIS HAZARDOUS AND NEARLY SPONTANEOUS TIRE FAILURE, ON A TIRE MOUNTED ON A NEW CAR UNDER A YEAR OLD, AND WITH MINIMAL TIRE WEAR. BOTH THE FRONT SEATS BROKE AT THE HINGE PUSHING THE SEATS BACK INTO THE BACKSEAT PASSENGERS. THIS RESULTED IN MINOR INJURIES TO THEM; SCRAPS ON LEG AND HEAD, BLOODY NOSE AND BRUISED TEETH. IF THE SEATS HAD NOT FAILED, THESE MINOR INJURIES WOULD NOT HAVE OCCURED. IT IS ALSO UNCLEAR HOW NECK ISSUES ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS WERE EXACERBATED. MY VEHICLE WAS MOVING SLOW AND WAS NOT YET AT A FULL STOP. IT WAS ON A RURAL TWO LANE ROAD. THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 50 MPH.*DT

THE ENGINE LIGHT CONSTANTLY COMES ON. HAVE HAD THE SOLENOID VALVE TIMING CONTROL REPLACES TWICE AND ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR 6 MONTHS AND HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FREQUENTLY.

POPPING NOISE HEARD FROM LUMBAR AREA OF PASSENGER SEAT BACK. DEALERSHIP SAID THE SOUND IS INSIDE THE SEATBACK AND IS FROM THE SHIFTING OF THE SPRINGS. THEY SAID THEY TESTED THREE OTHER 2020 NISSAN ALTIMA SEATS AND THEY ALL HAD THE SOUND WHEN PRESSED AGAINST OR WHILE SITTING IN AND MOVING FORWARD AND BACK AGAINST THE LUMBAR PART OF THE SEAT. THEY SAID IT'S NORMAL. IT'S AN ANNOYANCE. NO REASON WHY A 2020 BRAND NEW CAR SHOULD HAVE A POPPING SOUND FROM SPRINGS EVERYTIME SOMEONE SITS IN IT, MOVES THERE BACK AGAINST THE SEAT OR SIMPLY TOUCHES THE BACK REST WITH THEIR HAND.

I HAD THE CAR IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF BUTLER NISSAN IN MACON, GEORGIA; THE SERVICE WRITE ADVISED ME THAT THE MECHANIC DID SEE THE ISSUE AS I DESCRIBED, AND STATED THAT THE SERVICE MECHANIC TOOK A BRAND NEW ALTIMA OUT TO SEE IF HE COULD DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, AND THE BRAND NEW ALTIMA DID THE SAME EXACT THING. BLIND SIDE WARNING NOT WORKING - RADAR NOT AVAILABLE DUE TO SIDE OBSTRUCTION. SEVERAL TIMES THE INSTRUMENT PANEL HAS MALFUNCTION - NISSAN CLAIMS CAR MUST BE SPOTLESS OR IT WON'T FUNCTION PROPERLY. NISSAN CLAIMS WHEN THERE'S SNOW ON THE GROUND SAFETY FEATURES WON'T WORK. WHY HAVE THEM THEN? MAKE A POINT OF THIS BEFORE I PURCHASE. I WASHED THE CAR AND IT BLIND SIDE DETECTOR STILL WON'T WORK. IT WOULD BE SAFER TO PRODUCE A CAR WITHOUT SUCH FEATURES SO I DON'T GET DISTRACTED BY FLASHES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. SOMETIMES THE EBS WARNING GOES OFF WHEN STOPPED SOMETIMES WHEN DRIVING. JAMES, JUST A NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE, DECIDED THAT SINCE NO REPAIRS WERE NEEDED THE CAR WOULD NOT BE REPLACED.
