1. Component failed and availability for inspection: The engine assembly block failed due to a manufacturing defect known as "coolant intrusion into the cylinders." The vehicle and the defective engine are currently located at my residence and remain fully available for federal or manufacturer inspection upon request. 2. Safety risk: The safety of myself and others was severely compromised. Coolant entering the combustion chambers causes sudden, severe engine misfires across all cylinders, erratic power loss, and instantaneous stalling. Operating a vehicle where the engine can suddenly lose all power on high-speed roads creates an immediate risk of rear-end collisions and catastrophic traffic accidents. Furthermore, high-pressure internal coolant leaks pose an inherent risk of engine fires. 3. Problem confirmed by a dealer: Yes. The problem has been officially diagnosed and confirmed by an authorized Ford dealership service center, which documented internal coolant intrusion. 4. Inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance: The component was inspected and verified by the vehicle manufacturer's authorized dealership technicians. It has not been inspected by the police or insurance representatives, as no crash has occurred yet. 5. Warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to failure: Prior to the diagnosis, the vehicle exhibited a "Check Engine Light." Currently, the vehicle is suffering from critical failure symptoms: the Check Engine Light is flashing constantly, the engine misfire codes are actively showing on all 4 cylinders, and the vehicle shakes violently at low RPMs (rough idling). These severe symptoms first appeared approximately 2 moths ago and have progressively worsened due to the coolant intrusion.

While completing a turn at a T-intersection, the vehicle experienced a complete loss of motive power for several seconds, leaving the car stationary in the path of oncoming traffic. The transmission (10R80) failed to engage, a known symptom of internal CDF Drum sleeve failure (TSB 24-2254). This follows a 'Green' inspection by a dealer on March 23rd where an axle seal leak and shifting issues were overlooked. The failure to engage gear during a turn creates an unreasonable risk of a T-bone collision.

A check engine light turned on and the vehicle was taken to a local dealership. The check engine light was for an engine misfire and was diagnosed further. There was an engine failure due to coolant entering the system. Upon further research, I learned this is a common issue for 2016-2020 Ford Mustangs and it is due to a faulty engine design. The dealership is recommending a new engine install with a price tag of over 13,000 despite this being known to happen because of a badly designed engine with these cars.

When driving the car, the engine temperature light came on, pulled the car over to let it cool down, when cooled, drove home and looked in the engine compartment, found the coolant reservoir empty, filled it with proper coolant, next day the engine light came on, took to O'Reilly auto parts to scan code, problem was Cylinder #3 misfire, changed out spark plug, noticed that coolant reservoir was low again, searched internet for possible causes when found that many people are having the same issue, turns out Ford manufactured the 2.3L engines with a faulty design where the cooling leaks into the cylinders "Coolant intrusion". the fix that Ford has established for this issue is to replace the engine with a "long block" version, but will not issue a recall. We have contacted Ford and explained the issue, but they will not repair. There is a coolant intrusion on my vehicle, which resulted in either cracking the engine block or head gasket. In turn, this has caused a costly repair on a car with only 56,000 miles on it. Ford is aware of the issues with these engines and the seals on them. It’s a 2018 Ecoboost! It also happened to my mom’s Ecoboost around the same mileage. This isn’t normal and Ford is literally turning a blind eye to a very serious issue which results in total engine failure. On top of that the repair for this issue is costing $12,000 to repair at the dealership. This is absolutely absurd for a company as big as Ford, to build a faulty engine and then not offer any support/recalls to help all of those affected by it, including me.

For roughly 4mths beginning in April 2025, my 2018 Ford Mustang Ecoboost has been suffering from a sporadic misfire, with it the system reporting the misfire and the check engine light coming on, the Ford App identifying the misfire occurring. It was initially repaired with replacing all spark plugs, ignition leads. The sporadic misfire would continue to occur, Ford dealership kept the car for 2 days in late July, took everything apart said they were unable to replicate the misfire, cleared the codes (P0303 being the main one that appears consistently) and said to come back if it occurred again. Roughly 2 weeks later the issue occurred again, took the vehicle back to Ford where they kept the car for 2 days, went through the same process and could not replicate the issue. They dug deeper into the issue and found that the coolant would not hold pressure and with the use of a video scope found that the Intake Valve had fractured and was leaking coolant into the engine as well as distributing multiple shards and pieces of metal from the Valve Intake Fracture. Informed me that the only option was to replace with a new engine and turboboost. They reviewed and found that there were no recalls related to this issue for this vehicle. After undertaking my own research, I found this to be a known issue for Ford and that roughly 100k vehicles had been recalled starting with the 2020 vehicles for the same issue. The out of pocket expense is around 14k, and the vehicle is currently waiting on a replacement engine to arrive. Currently Ford are not offering any assistance in the cost of the replacement, been though they have been servicing the car since 2020 and it is regularly maintained per their guidelines of vehicle needs based on the mileage driven.

I own a 2018 Ford Mustang EcoBoost with a Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine. At around 100,000 miles, the engine developed severe carbon buildup, resulting in cylinder scoring and catastrophic engine failure. Despite following Ford’s recommended maintenance schedule (including a 100,000-mile GDI cleaning service performed by the dealership), my car now has one cylinder with only 70 psi compression (confirmed by borescope and mechanical test). Other cylinders measure 135–160 psi. I have learned Ford is aware of this issue and has made design changes in later models (adding extra fuel pumps/dual injection systems) to address it, but no recall or owner warning has been issued for earlier EcoBoost Mustangs. My research and discussions with BG Products and independent experts show this is a common flaw with GDI-only systems, and Ford has failed to inform owners or provide a lasting solution. The dealership and Ford have offered limited goodwill, but the engine is beyond repair and requires a full replacement. I believe Ford’s failure to warn owners about this well-known defect constitutes a safety and reliability risk. I am requesting NHTSA to investigate this widespread issue and require Ford to take responsibility for affected vehicles.

Took Mustang Ecoboost to Ford dealership as result of steady check engine light. Prior to check engine light rough idle at start up that smooths out after 10 to 15 seconds. Dealer identified CYL 3 misfire as well as random misfires. They also observed carbon tracking on plugs. Dealer replaced plugs and performed GDI cleaning service. About three weeks following repair same conditions reappeared rough idle and check engine light. Upon dealer inspection and use of bore scope discovered coolant intrusion in cylinder and recommended long block engine replacement. The second dealer appointment was several days after my warranty expired and mileage was 30,106 miles. Although the dealership was very supportive and understanding Ford would not provide any assistance even after I also pursued relief directly. As a result the long block engine replacement cost is $8,200. After considerable research was able to identify that ecoboost 2.3 engines as well as other small ecoboost engines all had a block defect that has since been corrected. The defect tends to permit, over time, coolant to leak into cylinders. Although a new head gasket may correct the condition, Ford normally recommends long block engine replacement as a long term fix. This condition if not attended to or if coming on suddenly will cause total engine failure. And, as failure can only occur when operating an engine failure under any driving condition is fraught with danger. To my knowledge Ford has not taken any steps to address this issue with the 2.3 liter engine built prior to about February 2020. And, at that time made an engineering change to the engine block addressing the design defect. Additionally, Ford did provide relief to owners of other smaller ecoboost engines having a similar design defect. At the present time there are several class actions suits pending for this 2.3 coolant intrusion issue. One final point should an ecoboost experience CYL or random misfires ensure bore scope is employed.

They said there was a cdf hub issue and stated I needed a new transmission for 6600.00. Of course I refused and came home to research their "diagnosis". I found an article about a,10R80 bushing that has caused the same exact problem is other Mustangs. I feel like they were giving me the run around. I don't want this to cause further problems. It should have been fixed at Paradise Ford. I have owned this car for 5.5 years. I'm quite familiar with how it runs. Please advise.

Both situations seem to occur only when the vehicle is in drive, and not while in park. The vehicle is available for inspection; Fortunately, no one was sitting in the passenger seat when these instances occured; The problem has not yet been diagnosed by a dealer or service center; It has not been inspected by anyone; There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the failure, only after the door popped open. Ford Incorporation is selling vehicles with malfunctioning engines. Ford cut in between each cylinder block to allow the coolant to cool the engine, however this design is extremely flawed, it causes the head gasket seal to break. This malfunction is allowing coolant to mix in with the oil causing misfires, which leads to the car consuming all of its coolant which can cause the engine to catch on fire. Ford has known about this issue for years and are not trying to put a recall on the engine. They’re making customers pay out of pocket to fix the engine. Replacing the head gasket isn’t an enough to fix the problem because the oil and coolant are mixing inside of the engine. There’s been reports of the vehicle engine completely shutting down while people are driving on the roads. There’s been reporting of the car overheating and catching on fire. The vast majority of consumers who bought the 2.3 liter engines from years 2013-2019 are experiencing these problems.

The parking brakes do not engage or release, perpetually stuck in-between (half-engaged). The handle inside the car can travel all the way to the top, but brakes do not engage enough to keep the car from rolling down my driveway without a brick under the tire. Upon inspection, it is obvious that the lever that controls the brakes does not release on either rear caliper (it only moves up - to the fully engaged position, but does not release). This began happening in 2019, but considered it normal wear. In 2021, the car started rolling back on hills. Ford was not helpful with the issue. I followed a service guide for adjusting the tension on the cable. This improved the situation until early 2023. Now, all of the adjustments are at max and the parking brake is inoperable. As Ford was previously unwilling to help, I'm hoping NHTSA can assist. Parking brakes should not fail after 1 year. They are not a wear item.

My 2018 Ford Mustang with Automatic Transmisson recently(Sept) started having issues with the gear shift being placed in Park, but the instrument panel is not illuminated in Park. If driver door is open, and keys removed, the chime may or may not sound. Research is showing same issue being reported and recalls were done due to missing roll pin that attaches the park pawl rod guide cup to the transmission case, and unseated transmission gear shift cable clip. If the parking brake is not applied, this could result in unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of injury or crash. The recalls only covered vehicles manufactured at a certain plant. However, my VIN # is not included in recalls. Due to safety concerns that my vehicle may lose Park function and roll away, causing damage/harm to others, I feel it should be included in the recall programs and repaired at no cost to me. September 9, 2022 at 4:45 P.M. CST. Less than 300 yards from merging onto the interstate, my children and I heard an extremely weird noise coming from the passenger side of my car, so I immediately pulled over. My daughter and I both looked at each other and asked, “what is that?” I told my daughter I knew I did not have a flat, however I felt like there was something wrong with my tire. We exited my car and found that my passenger side front tire had wire showing and was tearing/ripping at the “belt”. This occurred on/near the inner sidewall. I drive a 2018 Mustang GT, and had this occurred while traveling at 75mph on the interstate, it is likely it would have ended badly. It is likely that I would have lost control of my car and I could have possibly totaled my car, rolled/flipped it and it could have taken the lives of myself or my two children who were with me. I have found multiple other complaints regarding the same issue that I just experience at the following link: https://continentaltire.custhelp.com/app/social/questions/detail/qid/65/~/extreme-contact%2C-unacceptable-tread-wear Based upon those reviews and what I experienced today, this seems to be a manufacturer defect, which should not only be addressed and recalled but be replaced free of cost. Once I found the problem, I put my spare on, drove home and removed both front tires and put two of my stock wheels and tires on the front. Upon inspecting the driver side front tire after removal, I found that it too had the same issue happening in the exact location of the passenger side. Had this not occurred I would not be aware of the driver side doing the same thing. I absolutely do not think this was a coincidence or any mechanical issue, as the driver side is doing the exact same thing, in the exact same location and around the exact same letters as the passenger side. no warning lights were on.

This issue is when a haze develops on the inside of the windshield in the line of sight of the forward facing camera that detects vehicles, objects, traffic lanes and rain sensing. Since this area of the windshield is enclosed, there is no way to clean it. This is not condensation but dust particles that adhere to the glass, possibly from AC or heat that flows along the windshield and also it possibly enhanced in humid climates. When the issue occurs, the dash warning will appear stating, "Front Camera Low Visibility Clean Screen" and the outside windshield is definitely not dirty. I've taken this to my local Ford dealership and they claim they have no way to address the problem and suggested I take it to a windshield replacement shop, such as SafeLite, they also said it is not covered under any Ford warranty. I find this odd, since it is a potential design defect with the vehicle. This is a random occurrence and because of the warning, I fear it diminishes the accuracy of everything the front sensor detects and could be potentially dangerous. I've found several postings in vehicle forums online with the same issue but nothing about Ford or anyone resolving it, so this is not an isolated issue. Here is one posting in a forum showing the warning as well as images of the camera/windshield area that is the issue. https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/front-camera-haze.156882/ This is exactly what I'm experiencing. Also, doing a google search for the above warning message will bring up several other postings in forums about the issue with various Ford vehicle models with the same front camera design. HOWEVER, IF YOU SIMPLY GOOGLE, "DASHBOARD GOES BLANK IN FORD 2018 MUSTANG', YOU WILL FIND MANY, MANY OTHER MUSTANG OWNERS STATING INCIDENTS OF THE EXACT SAME BLACK OUT HAPPENING TO THEIR INSTRUMENT PANEL WHEN DRIVING THEIR CARS. FROM WHAT I READ, THIS ISSUE IS NOT LIMITED TO THE 2018 MODEL YEAR OF THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM TO FORD, YET THEY SEEM UNWILLING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? THIS QUESTION IS UNKNOWN TO ME 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? NO. WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MILES PER HOUR ON THE INTERSTATE IN TRAFFIC, AT NIGHT, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SIMPLY WENT BLACK. IT IS TOTALLY DIGITAL, SO I HAD NO ACCESS TO ANY INFORMATION REGARDING MY SPEED, AMOUNT OF GASOLINE REMAINING IN THE VEHICLE, OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT IS CUSTOMARILY DISPLAYED BY A VEHICLE'S INSTRUMENT PANEL. i PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, USED, ON JANUARY 22, 2022. I shifted into reverse and the rear-view camera image was very distorted. I shifted to neutral and then reverse again with no help. After checking the internet for info I found comments regarding the wire harness leading to the trunk lid. I did not find any obvious damage, but jiggled the wires and re-checked the system and the rear-view image came back with a clear image. over the next week, the image become distorted multiple times and sometimes gone to a no signal message. This is occurring more frequently makes it impossible to see objects/children/etc close to the rear of the vehicle.

The Accessory Protocol Interface Module failed. All functions of the camera, radio and entire middle display console do not work. When backing up to exit parking space or to back into a parking space I can't see what is behind me and have almost hit items multiple times. The dealer inspected and told me what the issue is; that it is not under warranty and would cost approximately $1000 to repair, which I don't have. There was no forewarning of this module failure; it occurred suddenly and without warning.

2018 with 24,000 miles (purchased brand new) every morning until the car warms up I dont have navigation, radio, Bluetooth, or back up camera's. I was told this was a common problem with Ford from the dealership but its not a recall. After researching online, its a very common problem with all makes and models of Ford. Of course I'm out of warranty to replace the APIM which is going to cost 1,000 out of pocket. Safety concerns: I have to navigate using my phone which is a distraction while driving, same thing with phone conversation I can be hand free, and I have a major blind spot while backing up because of no camera.

Battery terminals on this and other ford models corrode to the point of breaking electrical connection possibly disabling vehicle. Ford does not want to fix issue and says whole wiring harness requires replacement to repair. Battery is often replaced and terminal cleaned but it comes back. They try to put off repairs long enough to get it out of warranty. F150 ford pickups have same issue. Corrosion advances so far as to break battery cable clamp. It is generally the positive clamp. Problem is so common that aftermarket manufacturers have issued redesigned replacements.

Purchased a used 2018 Ford Mustang 3 weeks ago, just now able to get it registered, and the entire electronic instrument panel cluster (e.g., speedometer, warning lights, etc.) all went fuzzy for a few minutes and then totally failed; now just stays totally dark and unreadable. This is an optional all digital instrument panel cluster with programmable color that was a $2,200 option when new. I read online in car forums reports of many others having the same exact issue with the optional 2018 Mustang digital instrument cluster failing and going dark some within weeks of the car being new, and there was a recall on this instrument panel going dark for the 2019 model year. I saw an online post where a driver is driving for 6 months without the speedometer or warning lights functioning because of the repair cost being more than $2000. I got a quote from a Ford dealer for my repair today: $2396.00. This car is less than 5 months out of bumper-to-bumper Ford warranty and under the 36,000 miles limit at 30,383. This appears to be a known and apparently frequent safety issue so I thought Ford customer support might help me out but on calling them today they said they cannot do anything to help. They expect me to pay the $2396.00 for repairs with no assistance for what looks to be an inherent safety defect.

The transmission failed while driving on a busy street making a left turn. My safety and my passenger's safety was at risk because there was oncoming traffic when I made a left turn and a car was trailing me. Just like another complaint, "10 speed transmission did not engage then failed less than a second later while pulling into an intersection. This caused the car to enter the intersection but fail to go forward more than a few feet. The problem resolved after three attempts to go forward by pumping the gas peddle. The transmission also was jerking or jumping from 1st through 3rd gear as if the car could not find the correct gear to be in while going forward. The problem resolved after the first mile of driving". However, for me the problem returned again once I turned the car off, and restarted it. After less than a mile of driving, the transmission began malfunctioning again jumping, and jerking until the transmission just stopped working altogether. Someone has posted experiencing the same malfunction on the same model and year vehicle and I wonder if there are others that have had the same scary, horrible experience? Due to my transmission malfunctioning during my turn, I was lucky that the oncoming car just stopped and blew at me, and the car behind me just went around me instead of crashing into my rear. The car was towed to the dealer and is in the process of being evaluated. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the incident and the automobile is now at the dealership because the vehicle totally stopped driving.

The issue has caused near miss collision by another driver thinking my car was going to accelerate when the forward motion stopped but there were no brake lights in indicate the car was not going forward. The jerking and jumping has made it hard to control the car during turns and on slippery road. THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM (SYNC 3 W/ CARPLAY) THAT CAME STOCK WITH MY 2018 MUSTANG ECOBOOST RECENTLY STOPPED WORKING. THE CAR HAS 42K MILES ON IT AND IS JUST OVER 2 YEARS OLD. SYNC 3 STARTED TO RANDOMLY LAG (20-60 SEC LAG PER BUTTON PRESS), BUTTONS BECAME UNRESPONSIVE (PRESS NOT RECOGNIZED AT ALL), SHOWED INCORRECT GPS LOCATIONS WHILE USING CARPLAY (PLUGGED IN) WITH MULTIPLE MAP SERVICES, BACKUP CAM ISSUES, AND WOULD CAUSE BLUETOOTH TO DISCONNECT RANDOMLY. I LOGGED A COMPLAINT WITH MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND BROUGHT IT IN FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE APIM COMPONENT NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE DEALERSHIP NOTED THIS IS COMMON AND PLAGUES OTHER MODELS WITH THE SAME APIM. A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH VERIFIED THIS. MY MAIN CONCERN IS THIS: WHILE USING THIS SYSTEM IT CAN CREATE MANY DISTRACTIONS WHILE DRIVING IF THE SYSTEM IS NOT RESPONDING AS EXPECTED. EVEN THE STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS HAVE A LAG TO THEM. ONE SUCH SCENARIO THAT CAUSED GREAT ISSUE WAS ADJUSTING THE CLIMATE CONTROL DURING COLDER MONTHS WHEN THE WINDOWS/WINDSHIELD FOG UP. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, YOU CAN'T SEE WHILE DRIVING. TYPICALLY, I CAN REACT QUICKLY TO GET RID OF THE FOG, BUT SINCE THIS COMPONENT IS DEFECTIVE, THE SYSTEM DID NOT RESPOND AND THE FOG HAD TO BE MANUALLY REMOVED. ADDITIONALLY, THIS COMPONENT SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE REPLACED WITHIN 2YR OF PURCHASE OF THE CAR, SINCE IT IS A COMPUTER. FORD OFFERED TO REPLACE THE APIM COMPONENT, FOR $1000 (WARRANTY EXPIRED AT TIME OF DIAGNOSTIC TEST). WHAT IS EVEN MORE RIDICULOUS IS THAT THEY WANT TO REPLACE IT WITH THE EXACT SAME MODEL NUMBER, WHICH TELLS ME IN ANOTHER 2YR I MAY HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. THIS ISSUE STARTED UP WHILE I WAS IN WARRANTY (~30K MI), BUT SEEMINGLY WENT AWAY UNTIL RECENTLY WHEN THE SYSTEM HAS BECOME PRACTICALLY UNUSABLE. IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED TO ME 2 TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH BECAUSE I FOUND THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM. THE CLUTCH RETURN LINE IS AT FAULT BECAUSE IT SEEMS TO BE VERY SHORT. BECAUSE OF IT BEING SHORT, IT HAS A LOT OF TENSION ON IT. BECAUSE OF THE CAR HAVING A FLAT PLANE CRANK, I BELIEVE THE EXCESSIVE VIBRATIONS THAT THE ENGINE CREATES MIGHT MAKE THIS LINE BACK OFF OVER TIME. MY CAR ONLY HAD 5,000 MILES WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND IT WAS VERY FRIGHTENING. THE LINE IS AN INTERFERENCE FIT ON THE FLUID RESERVOIR AND ITS CAUSE THE LINE TO SLOWLY LEAK EVERY TIME YOU TOUCH THE LINE BECAUSE THE SEAL ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH. THE BACK WHEELS COULD EASILY HAVE LOCKED UP AND THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. *JS

WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD AND WHEN WARM AND RUNNING UNDER 2000 RPM THE ENGINE MAKES A INCONSISTENT TICKING NOISE WHICH CAN BE HEARD WHILE DRIVING AND AT IDLE. THIS ONLY STARTED AFTER THE FIRST OIL CHANGE WHICH WAS PERFORMED WITH THE RECOMMENDED OIL.

CAR HAS A LOUD TICKING SOUND ONCE WARMED UP AND AT IDLE. ALSO OCCURS WHEN RPMS ARE BETWEEN 1500-2000. DEALER TOLD ME IT'S THE NEW DIRECT FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM. RESEARCH ONLINE SHOWS MANY OTHER MUSTANG GT OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AND FOUND EVIDENCE OF PISTON SLAP AND SCORING. DEALERSHIP WON'T TAKE INITIATIVE TO FIX OR DIAGNOSE THIS PROBLEM. PROBLEM ALSO SHOWING UP ON 2019 MODELS. FORD KEEPS DEFLECTING THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND DEALERSHIPS WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR CUSTOMERS AND HELP THEM. PLEASE HELP BRING FORD TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS PROBLEM AND FIX THE ISSUE.

I AM THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE FORD MUSTANG 2018 PURCHASED IN THE CAR DEALER "AUTOS VEGA DE PR" WHERE TO VERIFY IT AFTER THE PURCHASE I PERCOME THAT IT DOES NOT BRING THE ACCESSORIES OF, REPLACEMENT TIRES, HYDRAULIC CAT AND NUT KEYS. THE SELLER WAS ASKED ABOUT WHERE HE ANSWERED THAT THEY DO NOT ALREADY BRING THAT ACCESSORY BECAUSE I HAVE FREE ASSISTANCE ON THE ROAD. BEFORE THIS ANSWER I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS DETERMINATION OF THE MANUFACTURER "FORD COMPANY" IS IN LAW SINCE I UNDERSTAND THAT THE LACK OF SUCH ACCESSORIES EXPOSED THE VEHICLE'S OWNER TO A HAZARD ON THE ROAD AS IT CAN NOT RESOLVE SOME PERCENT QUICKLY AND DEPEND ON A SERVICE THAT I CAN NOT OBTAIN UNLESS I HAVE A TELEPHONE AVAILABLE AT THE MOMENT AND THAT WORKS IN THE AREA WHERE I CAN NOT ACCEPT THAT SITUATION WHICH I THINK IS DANGEROUS TO THE DRIVER. I THEREFORE WANT TO ESTABLISH, TO BE FEASIBLE, A COMPLAINT ABOUT IT.PLEASE REPORT IF I HAVE ANY TOOL FOR THIS SITUATION THAT CAN HELP ME TO BE CORRECT MY APPROACH.

WHEN PUTTING MY CAR INTO PARK AND DRIVE IT DOESNT WANT TO SWITCH, IT TAKES A WHILE FOR IT TO GET INTO DRIVE. I ALMOST HIT SOMEONE IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE WHEN I PUT MY CAR INTO DRIVE, I PRESSED THE GAS LIGHTLY AND THE CAR DIDNT MOVE. UNTIL ABOUT 6 SECONDS THEN FLEW FORWARD. ALSO WHEN GETTING AROUND THE 10 MPH SPEED LIMIT, THE CAR JERKS AS IF THE TRANSMISSION ISNT PROPERLY CHANGING GEARS. I ONLY HAVE 10,000 MILES I BOUGHT THE CAR IN OCTOBER 2018 AND FIRST OWNER.

WHEN GETTING UP TO SPEED ON AN ON RAMP OR PASSING ON A TWO LA E ROAD, WHEN SHIFTING INTO THIRD GEAR, THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR. I'VE HAD THIS HAPPEN TWICE, ONCE MY DAUGHTER WAS WITH ME ON A TWO LANE ROAD, GOING FROM SECOND TO THIRD WHILE PASSING, THE CAR WILL NOT ALLOW IT. PEOPLE HAVE NOTED THIS MANY PLACES WHILE RUNNING OUT SECOND GEAR AND SHIFTING INTO THIRD IN MULTI SITUATIONS. THIS IS A HAZARD AND IT IS KNOWN DUE TO THE SHIFTER NOT BEING DIRECT AND USING A REMOTE LINKAGE. AN AFTERMARKET BRACKET AND SHIFTER WILL FIX THIS ISSUE, HOWEVER THIS VEHICLE SHOULD OPERATE SAFELY WITHOUT PURCHASING AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT. SIMPLE LOOK UP MISSED SHIFTS WITH MT-82 MUSTANG TRANSMISSION. YOU WILL SEE MANY WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND AFTERMARKET PARTS TO FIX THIS SAFETY HAZARD.

AT CERTAIN RPM RANGES THE PISTON CAN BE HEARD SLAPPING THE CYLINDER WALLS, CYLINDER WALL SCORING IS PRESENT AND MAY CAUSE PREMATURE FAILURE OF ENGINE. IT CAN BECOME WORSE DOWN THE ROAD AND CREATE MISFIRES, FROM NO COMPRESSION, ALSO CAN MAKE FOR A VERY LOUD ENGINE KNOCKING NOISE. I HAVE DRIVEN A FEW OF THEM AND THEY ALL HAVE THE SOUND. FORD BUILT THE ENGINES WITH TOO MUCH CLEARANCE BETWEEN PISTONS AND CYLINDER WALLS. ALSO THERE IS A TICKING NOISE AT IDLE THAT FORD CLAIMS IS NORMAL BUT PEOPLE ARE HAVING DAMAGES TO THERE VEHICLES FROM THIS. ATTACHED IS CYLINDER WALL SCORING PHOTOS

PISTON SLAP NOISE FROM ENGINE. TICKING AND THUDDING NOISE FROM IDLE TO 2500 RPMS. CAN HEAR DIESEL TYPE SOUND INSIDE THE CAR WHEN AT IDLE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WITH CODE P0300 FOR ENGINE MISFIRE. CAR IS 1 YEAR OLD AND HAS OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES. DEALER IS OF NO HELP SAYING ALL THESE ARE NORMAL. MY CAR SHUT OFF WHILE CRUISING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND I LOST CONTROL OF BRAKES AND STEERING AS THEY WERE EXTREMELY HARD TO MODULATE. FORD AND DEALER ARE OF NO HELP IN RESOLVING THESE ISSUES AND I WORRY FOR MY AND MY FAMILY'S SAFETY DRIVING THIS CAR.

MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE ON CRUISE CONTROL ON THE INTERSTATE GOING 80MPH ON A 75 AND A FEW SECONDS AFTER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON , THE CAR SHUT OFF AND LOCKED UP AND CAUSED ME TO LOSE CONTROL. CAR WAS TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP , AND THE ENTIRE BOTTOM END WAS TORN APART AND A FEW ENGINE COMPONENTS WERE REPLACED. AFTER RECEIVING THE VEHICLE BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO HAVE ELECTRICAL AND ENGINE PROBLEMS. THE CAR WILL AT RANDOM TIMES SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING , MAIN TIMES IS THE FREEWAY. SECOND ISSUE IS THE CAR HAS LOUD KNOCKING TO THE ENGINE , SOUNDS LIKE A LIFTED KNOCK , THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP, AND MY CAR WAS NEXT TO A SAME YEAR MUSTANG TO COMPARE SOUND AND MINE WAS DEFINITELY KNOCKING COMPARED TO THE OTHER MUSTANG. THIRD ISSUE IS THERE IS A CONSTANT SQUEALING SOUND LIKE A LOSE BELT COMING FROM THE BACK SIDE OF THE ENGINE (THIS RECENTLY STARTED) AND THE FOURTH ISSUE IS WHEN I'M COMING DOWN TO A STOP OR SLOWING DOWN EVEN WITHOUT TOUCHING THE BREAKS THERE IS A METAL CLINGING SOUND THAT DOESN'T STOP UNTIL THE CAR COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CAR ONLY HAS 17K MILES AND IS NEVER ABUSED , AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED.

PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2018 FORD MUSTANG ECOBOOST PREMIUM 10-SPEED WITH PERFORMANCE PACKAGE JULY 21, 2018 WITH 9 MILES. TOOK CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP NOVEMBER 2018 AT 2,600 MILES WITH A POPPING FEELING AND SOUND AS WELL AS AN UNSAFE LOOSE FEELING IN THE REAR END. THIS HAPPENED ANY TIME DRIVING OVER UNEVEN SURFACES, TURNING CURVES AND ACCELERATING. THEY REPLACED THE SHOCK ABSORBER AFTER THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP 11 DAYS. IN JANUARY 2019 I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH 3,893 MILES. THE CAR WAS STILL MAKING A GRINDING, POPPING SOUND IN THE REAR END AS WELL AS THE FRONT END. THE CAR ALSO STILL FELT LOOSE AS IF WAS GOING TO LOCK UP WHILE DRIVING. THE POPPING, GRINDING HAPPENED WHEN PULLING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY OR PARKING SPACE AS WELL AS SHARP TURNING OF THE WHEELS. THE LOOSE FEELING WAS GOING AROUND CURVES, LEFT OR RIGHT TURNING FROM A STOP LIGHT AS WELL AS ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THE CAR ALSO FELT AS THOUGH IT WAS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE FLUID IN THE REAR END AND AFTER 8 DAYS THEY SAID THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT HAS SINCE BEEN 8 MORE DAYS IN THE SHOP WITH NO WORD. I FEEL THIS CAR IS UNSAFE AS IT IS SUCH A NEW CAR, HAS BEEN BABIED FROM THE FIRST DAY PURCHASED. THE FACT THAT IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE ALMOST 30 DAYS OF ITS LIFE, UNDER 4,000 MILES AND HAVING THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL REPLACED SHOWS THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS CAR. ALL THIS BEING REPORTED TO CARFAX HAS DRASTICALLY REDUCED THE VALUE OF MY CAR SINCE IT DOES NOT REPORT IT AS FACTORY DEFECT BUT RATHER POSSIBLE ABUSE. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS JUST MY CAR OR A SAFETY ISSUE FROM THE FACTORY. I ASKED THE SERVICE MANAGER IF IT WAS POSSIBLE FOR THE CAR TO LOCK UP ON THE HIGHWAY AND HE CONFIRMED IT WAS DEFINITELY A POSSIBILITY. AT THIS POINT I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR NOT KNOWING WHAT ELSE COULD GO WRONG WITH IT.

I PURCHASED A NEW 2018 FORD MUSTANG 2 DR 4 CYL ECOBOOST ON JULY 9TH 2018. ON AUGUST 15, AFTER HAVING DINNER WITH PARENTS AT THE HOUSE, I WENT TO VISIT SOME FRIENDS IN DAVIE AND IT WAS APROX 7:45 PM WHILE DRIVING ON A 4 LANE ROAD DIVIDED BY A MEDIAN. ROAD HAS FREQUENT SPEEDBUMPS AND THE MEDIAN HAS MATURE TREES. WHILE TRAVELING ON THIS ROAD - I FELT NAUSEOUS AND PLACED BOTH HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND SUDDENLY THE ROAD BECAME BLURRY AND I LOST CONCIOUSNESS AND STRUCK A TREE IN THE MEDIAN. THE CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE AND ACCORDING TO A POLICE OFFICER, HE TRIED TO REVIVE ME AND TO HELP ME GET OUT, HOWEVER MY LEGS WERE BROKEN AND INJURED. MY RIGHT LEG WAS BROKEN AND MY LEFT LEG WAS BADLY INJURED. I WAS WEARING A HIGH BOOT ON THE LEFT FOOT AND NO BOOT ON THE RIGHT FOOT IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE COMFORTABLY. SECONDS AFTER THE POLICE OFFICER REMOVED ME FROM THE CAR, THE CAR EXPLODED. I BELIEVE THAT I WAS SOLD A DEFECTIVE CAR THAT LEAKED POISENOUS GASES WHICH CAUSED ME TO PASS OUT AND CRASH I TO A TREE. HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THE POLICE OFFICER, I WOULD HAVE DIED TRAPPED IN THE BURNING CAR.

2018 MUSTANG GT WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION. ENGINE STALLS WHEN SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL (MANUAL TRANS) AT HIGHER ENGINE SPEEDS. FOR EXAMPLE, COMING UP TO A RED LIGHT (WAS TRAVELING APPROX 50MPH) OR WHILE EXITING THE FREEWAY (WAS TRAVELING 65MPH AND THEN WAS TURNING AROUND AN OFF-RAMP). HAS OCCURED AT ANY DRIVING SPEED (IF REVVING ENGINE AT FULL STOP, OR WHILE TRAVELING). STALLING DOES NOT OCCUR IF THE TRANSMISSION REMAINS ENGAGED WHILE SLOWING DOWN. IF I SHIFT TO NEUTRAL WHEN THE ENGINE IS NEAR IT'S NORMAL IDLE SPEED (500 RPM AFTER WARM-UP), IT WILL NOT STALL. THE PROBLEM ONLY OCCURS WHEN SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL ABOVE ~2,000 RPM, AND ONLY AFTER THE ENGINE IS WARMED UP. THE PROBLEM WAS PRESENT FROM THE TIME THE VEHICLE WAS BRAND NEW. AT 1500 MILES I RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY REPRODUCE THE ISSUE TOGETHER WITH THE SERVICE ADVISOR. IN SOME INSTANCES, THE ENGINE SPEED WILL DROP BELOW IDLE SPEED AND THEN WILL RECOVER AND NOT STALL. I MADE A RECORDING OF THE CAN BUS TO TRY TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE ON MY OWN, WHICH IS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. IT SEEMS THAT THE ENGINE CONTROLLER IS REQUESTING MORE TORQUE FROM THE ENGINE WHEN THE SPEED DROPS, BUT THE THROTTLE WILL NOT RESPOND TO THE REQUEST AND THE ENGINE WILL STALL. NO DTCS OR WARNING LIGHTS WERE GIVEN TO INDICATE THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE. NO MODIFICATIONS WERE MADE TO THE CAR, AND IS IN COMPLETELY 'STOCK' CONDITION.

THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM HAS BRAKED HARD ON ME THREE (3) TIMES WHEN THERE WASN'T A CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THE FIRST TIME A CAR HAD ALREADY TURNED RIGHT ONTO AN INTERSECTING STREET, THE SECOND TIME A CAR HAD TURNED LEFT INTO A DRIVEWAY AND THE DRIVER WAS ALREADY GETTING OUT TO GET HIS MAIL, AND THE THIRD TIME A CAR HAD STOPPED IN THE LEFT TURN LANE AND I WAS APPROACHING IN THE LANE NEXT TO IT. I'M CONCERNED THAT THIS MAY CAUSE THE CAR BEHIND ME TO REAR END ME SINCE THE CARS WEREN'T NEAR ME AND THERE WAS NO REASON TO BRAKE. ON 3/15/18 I TOOK THE CAR TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF CROSSROADS FORD IN WAKE FOREST, NC (REF. INVOICE NO.
