I am filing a formal safety complaint regarding the execution of NHTSA Recall 24-002 (Connecting Rod Bearing Replacement) by an authorized Acura dealership, and a fundamental safety flaw in Acura’s official Service Bulletin for this recall. My vehicle underwent "Repair #1" under this recall, which involved opening the engine block and replacing the rod bearings due to a factory defect that causes metal-on-metal wear. However, upon picking up my vehicle, I discovered the dealership left the old, dirty oil filter attached to the engine. I reviewed Acura’s Service Bulletin 24-002 and realized the "Required Materials" list explicitly omits a new oil filter for Repair #1. Because dealerships strictly follow this bulletin for warranty reimbursement, they are systematically leaving old filters on engines that just received new bearings. This means old, metal-contaminated oil trapped in the filter is immediately recirculated through the brand-new precision bearings. This procedural flaw directly jeopardizes the integrity of the engine, completely undermining the purpose of the safety recall and putting drivers at risk of sudden engine failure at highway speeds. I have time-stamped video and photographic evidence of my vehicle’s mileage (61,325) and the untouched, original oil filter immediately after returning home from the dealership. Acura Corporate was contacted regarding this procedural negligence and failed to provide a resolution. I am requesting the NHTSA investigate Acura's repair procedures for Recall 24-002 to prevent further unsafe vehicle modifications.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 14,500. The vehicle was deemed a total loss.

My engine has been replaced under warranty for connecting rod bearings failing before the recall 23V-751 existed. 40,000 miles later it failed again. I have paper work and other information available upon request. The vehicle is currently on it's third short block replaced by Acura. No CEL or anything prior to when the knocking started.

The contact stated that the force of the crash shot his vehicle to the left, crossed two lanes of traffic and crashed into the guard rail on the left side of the highway. The contact stated that this crash with the guardrail deployed the drivers side curtain air bag. The contact stated that the force of the crash shot the vehicle to the right and he drove off of the roadway down a slight embankment. The contact was able to stop and exit the vehicle. The contact saw that front bumper had sheared off and that the right fender and wheel well were crushed. The contact stated that the he could see the right tire suspension and control arms were exposed and fractured. The contact stated that the damage of the left side of the vehicle was not as severe. The contact stated that the passenger side curtain air bag had also deployed. The contact stated that the police were on scene and wrote a report. The contact stated that he was transported by ambulance to the ER. The contact stated that he had bruises and cuts on his right temple and check and swelling, cuts and bruises on the left cheek and left temple and forehead. The contact stated he was released after treatment. The contact stated that the vehicle had been towed to an impound lot. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact had received recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) and related the failure to the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

Drivers seat trim has broken 3 times, and is now causing the seat to come apart from the entire trim around the seat.

Internal failure of front facing camera. This has caused issues with the auto braking abd lane assist. My mechanic recreated the issue and tried to clear the codes but said camera needs replacing. Acura should recall this or compensate people, it is over 1500. Car is only 6 years old

In 2022, my 2019 Acura TLX A-Spec received a warranty engine replacement due to a spun bearing. At that time, recall 23V-751 (connecting rod bearing defect) did not yet exist. Recently, the replacement engine developed a pronounced knocking/ticking noise at idle and during light acceleration. Multiple independent mechanics and an Acura service department confirmed the noise is abnormal and consistent with connecting rod bearing wear as described in the recall. Acura advised that my VIN is not included in the recall because the original engine was replaced. However, the replacement engine was supplied by Acura prior to the recall and may contain the same defective components. The dealership and Acura corporate did not inspect the internal components or verify whether the replacement engine used the revised bearing parts — they only referenced the VIN and engine number to deny recall eligibility. I currently have an open case with Acura, and the vehicle is scheduled for diagnostic inspection. I was informed that if the issue is determined to be related to recall 23V-751, diagnostic costs may be reimbursed, but there is no guarantee. This situation raises concern because my symptoms, timeline, and component failure are consistent with the known defect, yet my vehicle remains excluded from coverage. Given the safety implications of possible engine seizure or loss of power while driving, I am requesting that NHTSA review whether vehicles with Acura-supplied replacement engines should also fall under recall 23V-751. Well, today November 3 , car have 70900 miles, few weeks ago Acura do a replacements, recall fuel, problems, today warning , engine and ( P ) Brake system came on , and i look in the forum of this type of issues with Acuras and some many diferents opinions. To many complaint about this problems with Acura. I am worry that driving the car with this issues ruins the car. But its the only transportation that i have. Thanks

Im not sure what fails but the car wont start after coming to a stop with the auto off function and almost caused an accident because when the light turned green i couldnt take off because the car didnt start up and the car behind me almost hit me. It has happened other times at stop signs and any other stop ive made. I have to press the button my self to start up again. I havent had it inspected because i havent had any time. There are no warning lights on

I had the stop bearing rod recall performed on my 2019 Acura TLX along with a fuel pump recall. After less than 10,000 miles I am informed that my high pressure fuel pump has failed. When the did the recall on the vehicle they only did the low pressure fuel pump when there is known issue of the high pressure fuel pump failing.

My vehicle had an engine rod bearing issue before the 1st recall, they replaced part of the engine. My vehicle also went through a starter recall and they also changed the rod bearing with the corrected part that was in for the last recall. Currently, my engine is still having the exact same rod bearing issue which is a safety concern for me. It’s currently at Ed Voyles Acura in Chamblee, GA waiting on a decision from corporate Acura. They will determine if they will pay for the repairs of my vehicle due to an old recall. This is the worse experience I have had with the Acura brand and I have had 3 Acuras in my life time. I think Acura is a beautiful car company with great performance. I would love if this situation would allow me a rental until my vehicle is fixed. Thank you.

This car suffers from the engine and rod bearing recall. I took the car to Park Avenue Acura to complete the recall work. The car had significant damage from the rod bearing issue and the dealership had the car for a month. They replaced the rod bearing, crank shaft, regular fuel pump among other things. Once I received the car, the car failed and became inoperable. This time the high pressure fuel pump became defective. While Acura representative informed me that there is (i) active recall on the high pressure fuel pump (but not on my vin) and (ii) direct impact of replacing regular fuel pump on leading to high pressure fuel pump failure, as my vin is not currently acknowledged, my repairs would not be covered. I would like to request that the scope of the VIN numbers be re-evaluated and secondly the impact of fuel pumps replacement leading to other fuel pump be evaluated such that the recall work can cover both issues related to the rod bearing.

All of Sudden i got Electronic Parking Brake/Emissions System Problem today 08/26/2025 and hence reporting this and quick internet research shows so many people having same issue

High pressure fuel pump failure. Car not functional and every warning light started to light up. The car just was serviced for rod bearing (entire crank shaft needed replacement) and regular fuel pump recall replacement which took the dealership almost a month to complete. I spoke to Acura representative who indicated that when either of the fuel pump or high pressure fuel pump is replaced, the other pump could fail. I'm not sure why both of the fuel pumps (standard and high) are not both replaced as part of the recall if there is substantial damage as was my case. Also, please note that there is an active high pressure fuel pump recall on my car, just not my vin.

The dealership (Rollit Motors at 60 N Gilbert Rd, Mesa, AZ 85203) appears to have listed the same vehicle—a 2019 Acura TLX with VIN [XXX] two different listings with significantly different mileage and pricing. •One listing shows 58,703 miles priced at $24,990. •Another shows 85,233 miles priced at $21,995. •Both listings use the same exact VIN and show identical exterior/interior colors, trim (3.5L Technology Pkg w/A-Spec), and photos of the same car. When I contacted the dealership, they verbally confirmed “this is the only one we have left” but did not clarify the mileage discrepancy. I have screenshots of both listings and the dealership’s communication. I believe this may be an attempt to roll back mileage or misrepresent vehicle condition to inflate the value, which is potentially odometer fraud. Nothing collision accrued with this car

The engine seized due to failed cylinder rod and/or Engine bearing. This model has had a recall for the exact same issue in the past. It has been repair from when the previous owner had the car. Now this exact same issue occurred on 06/09/2025, after a month of driving the vehicle. I was driving and in the middle of nowhere my engine stopped working and it was hard to steer, couldn't accelerate, car was in motion and had to safely pull off the road. I was stranded in the Las Vegas heat, in Henderson, in the middle of no where for 5 hours. The vehicle is getting repaired at a local repair shop with a replacement engine but I'm unsure if the newer engine has had the recall service done to it or not, so there is a potential possibility that this issue can occur again. I've had to spend 400 including deductible to repair the vehicle and is being repaired with the help of my warranty. I did not get any warnings on dash or anything.

On several occasions I have experienced issues with the performance of my vehicle. Upon start up and attempting to move forward while the car is in drive the vehicle hesitates to move and feels like it is going to choke and stop. I have experienced this same issue at stops while the car is in operation. There is an open recall for 2015-20 TLX no SH-AWD Fuel Pump Mtr Saf Recall Exp2, RECALL DATE:12/18/2023 which has yet to be fixed. I have been told by Tempe Acura that the parts are not available and basically I will be called when the parts are available. My safety and the safety of others are at risk when the car is not accelerating and causing a stalling or non-movement of the car. I have experienced the car stalling abruptly and coming to hard stops. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer by notice in the mail. The vehicle has been inspected when another recall was fixed which took over a year to resolve. This specific issue has yet to be resolved. There are two outstanding recalls on my vehicle, and I have been unable to get scheduled for these repairs with Motorcars Acura in Bedford, Ohio. I have been told for almost a year, that I was on a waiting list, and that I should continue to call them for availability. I would like to know what type of resolution there will be going forward, if the dealer is unable to perform these repairs in a timely manner. I am starting to feel concern with driving my vehicle safely.

My engine is starting to make a knocking/ticking noise, related to this recall. Very unuasal for a car with 65K miles. My local Acura dealers continue to tell me their waiting on parts??? Both recalls are almost 1 years old. How long should a consumer wait for a known manufacturers defect?

Driving on the hwy on left most lane, car started jerking when accelerating and slowing when hitting the accelerator. Check engine light blinks on and off while this is happening. Scary and terrifying moment on the hwy, was able to get into emergency lane and slowly get car off hwy into parking lot. Got the car towed to Acura, they ran "diagnostics" and could not replicate the problem or even find the check engine code. They recommended 7 items of which some were complete nonsense and upselling instead of finding the solution to dangerous problem. Seems like the fuel pump issue and they won't confirm anything. Saying I need at oil change with 40% left on indicator, tire rotation, ac filter, and other non sense upsells instead of finding the problem that almost caused accident. Acura dealership had no clue when fuel pump part will come in and I have no other vehicle. NHTSA needs to fine Acura and tell them to stop selling new cars and fix the 2.5 million on the road today with problem. Need help on this!

Additionally, the contact stated while driving at various speeds, the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) was intermittently inoperable. The contact stated that on the occasions that the LKAS was operable while driving, the lane keeping assist caused the steering wheel to jerk and pull the vehicle into another lane. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle sputtered, jerked, decelerated, and significantly pulled towards side of the road. The contact was able to safely pull to the side of the road. The messages "Road Departure Mitigation Problem", "Lane Keeping Assist problem", "Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem" and other unknown messages were displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the Forward Collision Avoidance camera had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

My car has had problems with the fuel pump... I have made an appointment at the Acura dealership three times now and when I take the car in they tell me that they don't have the part that needs to be replaced...

2019 Acura TLX 28k miles - was slowing pulling into a parking spot in a parking garage downtown San Diego. Suddenly the car had no brakes while pressing the brake pedal to the floor with no resistance from the brakes, the car start revving hard and accelerating very fast. I stopped by hitting a brick barrier. Steering wheel and knee airbags deployed. Fortunately I arrived at work early that day and did not hit anyone or any other cars. Our Insurance company USAA said they can not repair the car. The automatic emergency equipment did not kick in either. Acura was advised of the issue case number [XXX]. Fortunately my injuries were minor cuts and bruising but if this incident had happened somewhere else it could have resulted in loss of life. I received two recalls and multiple notices saying the parts are not available for the recall. Over 6 months later I receive a notice the parts are finally available. I tried to make an appointment with my local dealer and was told they will not repair unless the check engine light is on. If what happens in the recall (fire, crash or injury), how will I be able to get the check engine light to come on? I'm afraid to drive the car because I don't want to be stranded, plus I don't want the car to catch fire, cause a crash or be injured. Why isn't Honda/Acura making the parts to correct this problem and why is the dealer not complying with the recall notices I'm receiving? On the Acura recall website, when I enter my VPN, it notes to please take immediate action to have your vehicle repaired but the dealer won't do it! As I'm looking at the additional details below...it appears that a fire, crash or injury needs to happen. Unbelievable!

This car exhibits rumbling when goinin to a decreasing downward motion as if its trying to change gear but cant. coming home from a doctors appointment last month it was raining an coming up to the top of a very small hill and just as i hit the top at the point the shocks start to lift up I almost lost control. This is not the first time its happened. It usually happens in a decelerating turn. but I have tried to get appointments with Huntsville and nashvile dealerships. Hunstville had my appointment i waited for for 4 months and it was around june the 14th and they told me not to come in they were out of parts. So they had parts but ran out!

The car will stall. The auto start/stop does not turn the car back on. The car fails to start sometimes when trying to leave. We have almost been rear ended multiple times, the transmission stalls and will not “go” when you press the gas or the car won’t even turn back on. We have contacted Acura and a local dealer. Both say they do not have a remedy for this issue yet even though it’s part of the recall and keep pushing it off to the next season. Each time I call for an inspection, I get told there is nothing they can do. I ask about seeking legal advice and they just tell me they don’t have a remedy so a lawyer can not help me.

Engine failure due to spun rod bearing due to the rod bearing connection failing. Vehicle suddenly became completely immobile stopping on a busy road in the city during morning rush hour. Vehicle not only put me in danger, but many other drivers on the road because it stopped halfway into the street refusing to go forward or shift to neutral to be pushed up. There were no electrical or battery issues. Yes, the dealership has acknowledged there is a recall that has not come out yet on the rod bearing connection as well as letters from Acura regarding this problem. Yes, Acura dealership service center has inspected the vehicle with no solution proposed or a diagnosis even. No warning lights until the engine completely failed. There was a rattling/tickling sound for a few days prior to my appointment to get it checked out. The rattling grew faster upon pressing on the gas while parked and accelerating while driving. The vehicle’s engine failed on my way to the service center. The profession was very quickly on a Monday the rattling began it was driven less than 10 miles daily until the engine completely failed on Friday which was the first available service appointment.

My engine shuts off while idling, shifts into neutral automatically, and stalls when sitting at a light. This is a huge safety concern for me. My fuel pressure light and battery comes on when it shuts off.

The fire department and the police arrived. The fire department extinguished the flames with water. The police filed a report. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The contact stated that her insurance provider declared the vehicle a total loss. The contact stated that before the engine fire she had taken the vehicle to a dealer who had diagnosed a failure for a similar abnormal ticking sound and had replaced the engine. The contact stated that the vehicle fire had occurred one week after the engine had been replaced. The contact stated that she had researched online and related the failure and subsequent fire to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). My families safety has been put at risk due to the lack of response from Acura/Honda regarding a recall that may cause the engine in our car to seize up due to a manufacturing defect. I have gotten no response from the Acura dealer other than to say that I can pay for the inspection and be reimbursed if there is a problem. But if there is no problem, I will be out the cost of it. I paid 40,000.00 for a car that has 7500 miles on it and I am afraid to let my wife or son drive it. If I don't get some sort of response soon, I will just file a lemon law claim as the car is useless until it's inspected, and no, i'm not going to pay for that.

I recently changed the car battery and now notice that occasionally my car rattles a little then automatically shifts to neutral while at a red light, drive thru etc. Additionally, occasionally when parked with engine still running, my rattles a little and car shuts off. When this happens it displays the battery and oil light. I start it back up with no problem. I’ve taken it to the dealership and I’m told nothing is wrong with the car. This makes me feel unsafe while driving.

Car stalls when auto idle stop, have to put back in park to start car

It has camera issues where moisture or liquid can go inside, and it is very hard to see when I backup. I have contacted the dealer bodyshop to fix it since they repaired my bumper, but they said it is not their fault and they want more than $1000 to replace it. I did some research online, and a lot of people are having the same issue with poor quality with this brand. I never had camera issues with other brands.

Vehicle shut off at busy intersection while stopped at traffic light and unable to restart. Error message keyless remote not detected. First time in Nov 2022 I replaced key fob battery and dealer updated computer from recall. Second time June 2023 dealer unable to replicate issue and replaced key fob battery. Being stuck in a busy intersection is dangerous and scary, especially with my kids in the car and angry drivers around me. To get the car restarted I finally figured out to put it in park, push the stop button, open the car door then push the start button. The vehicle has had issues several times when initially starting the car and gives error keyless remote not detected. Holding the key to the starter button allows the car to start, however I have seen the error message again while driving.

I leased a new Acura TLX vin [XXX] from Hall Automotive Virginia Beach in April 2019. After about 3 years the lettering on the drive gear selector button started wearing off when the car had about 12000 miles and was still under its 4 year factory warranty. I have been very careful with my car and did not expose it to any chemicals that would cause this (and this has never happened on any of my other vehicles). During the warranty period I took the car to 2 different Acura dealers (Hall Acura and Priority Acura Chesapeake VA) who both said that Acura would not replace it under warranty. I also called Acura who told me to go to a dealer which I had already done. This is a potential safety hazard as it could make it more difficult to put the car into gear. The Emission System Problem Alarm and the Electric Parking Brake Problem Alarm constantly comes in.

The car does not restart after it has turned off during an idle stop. This is part of the start/stop system. The stop/start feature will leave you stranded at stoplights due to a failure to restart the car. To restart, you must put the car in Park mode and hit the start/stop button at least twice to turn it off, then turn on the car. This causes some panic when you get into the situation, as it is not the expected behavior. For people who are unaware can be put in a very challenging situation. This has happened multiple times in the past few months.

Stopped at red light and car would not restart after the auto idle turn off function had engaged. All lights on dash flashed and car kept going into neutral. Car would not restart for nearly 10 minutes and I was left stranded in an incredibly busy intersection with cars flying around me honking and yelling. I could have been killed as well as the man who stopped to help me. Incredibly angry to call my local Acura dealership and find out that this is a KNOWN problem. Makes me sick to think how many lives are in danger and no actual recall has been done to my knowledge.

NHTSA RECALL NUMBER:19V-060 appears to be EXACTLY what is going on with my vehicle. I was broke down on the side of the road with warning lights on my dashboard. After having it towed to my mechanic they were able to identify the issue is related to the fuel pump. I looked up issues with my 2019 Acura TLX and fuel pumps and found that there is a recall. Only my VIN does not qualify for the recall. However, the issue described in the recall is EXACTLY what's going on with my TLX. I was lucky enough not to have an accident but I very well could of if I had not pulled off the highway!

MY hood floats and rattles at freeway speeds. It is concerning in that other Honda vehicles also exhibit the same symptom and are now being recalled for hoods opening unexpectedly due to structure issues.

My Acura TLX engine Drive reduced completely on the highway, Went going 60 to 25 roughly up to date maintenance 100% oil life and Now Im concern that’s my vechile has been manufactured failed. Since I purchased my vehicle my seat beats get stuck unable to clip belt. My car came with speakers not working dealer tried to tell me I was crazy, until the speaker system was check Yess sure enough no speaker sound at all. In my main base front center Speaker ( VeryBig Deal) all of this last Friday my TLX aspec 3.5v6 has been Making noise and running at a very low reduced speed for no apparent reason while flashing a Engine sign. Flash blank with warning engine. This Event has put me at risk of safety and protection of customer purchase violations as I developed change in my daily life being blind sided about my Acura TLX Car safety and manufacturing issues. I complaint about this after purchase of vechile and They fixed the repair at no charge. But who wants they car ripped apart never in same fresh condition as purchase. I now receive bends in dash board related to speaking replacements documented in Acura Profile. Yes it hasn’t been my car has been diagnostic and going for rare down of engine components at the Acura dealer. This is outrageous and so scary knowing I have too been dealt a bad TLX.

The contact mentioned that she received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V215000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) in July and had the recall repair performed. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

Idle stop system works properly 99.9% of the time. However, three times in the last 12 months, I was stopped at a light and when I took my foot off the brake the car did not start. I tried to re-start, but it did not start immediately, took about 10 to 20 seconds to start. In each of the cases, I was able to restart just not right away. These three instances were about four months or so apart. The system was checked by Acura service twice, and no issues found.

I was pulling on to interstate 5 when attempting lane change I accelerated with no success. The gas pedal was pressed harder and still no acceleration and that went on for at least 3 to 4 seconds. This happens to me every day. I have tried different brands of fuel but always premium and that has made no changes. The vehicle had a fuel system recall which made little if any improvement when it was performed over a year ago.

MY CAR WAS PARKED CAME OUT TO START IT AND THE CAR WOULDN'T START JUST KEEPS FLICKERING THE LIGHTS

WHEN I BACK OUT OF SOMEWHERE AND SELECT `DRIVE' ON THE TRANSMISSION THERE IS A DELAY OF 2 SECONDS TO 5 SECONDS BEFORE IT ENGAGES IN 'DRIVE' .THAT IS A LONG TIME WHEN A PERSON IS PULLING OUT ON AN ARTERIAL. THE ACCELERATION IWHEN IN 'DRIVE' IS NOT CONSISTENT WITH A SIMILAR HESITATION. FROM THE TIME THE ACCELERATOR HAS BEEN PRESSED IT COULD BE 2 TO 5 SECONDS BEFORE IT BEGINS TO MOVE. IT HAS BEEN TERRIFYING WHEN MERGING ON TO THE FREEWAY OR SIMPLY JUST PULLING OUT ON ANY ROADWAY.THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS SLUGGISH WHEN GOING FROM DRIVE TO REVERSE ALSO BUT THAT IS NOT GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT LIKE NOT BEING ABLE GO FORWARD IS. THIS HAD A RECALL ON FUEL PUMP PROGRAMMING AND THAT MADE LITTLE OR NO IMPROVEMENT. I HAVE ACURA INVOICES AND FILM THAT I HAVE TAKEN ON ANOTHER DEVICE THAT CAN BE PROVIDED.

I STOPPED(STATIONARY) AT A LIGHT TO MAKE A LEFT TURN INTO THE FREEWAY. WHILE STATIONARY THE ENGINE WENT INTO AUTOMATIC IDLE STOP TO SAVE GAS AND ONCE THE LIGHT TURN GREEN THE CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN ON AT ALL AND HAD TO CALL AAA. IT WAS GIVING ME ERROR MESSAGES IN REGARDS FUEL PUMP AND BRAKE SYSTEM ETC. IN THE DASH. *TR

I WAS ENTERING A LEFT-HAND TURN LANE, WITH A RED LIGHT. THE THIRD-PARTY INVESTIGATION SHOWED I ENTERED THE LANE AT 35MP. I STARTED GENTLE BREAKING AND WHEN THERE WAS NO RESPONSE, I PUSHED THE BRAKE HARD AND TO THE FLOOR. I DID NOT FEEL THE CAR DECELERATE BUT THE INVESTIGATION SHOWS THAT BRAKED FOR 7 SECONDS PLUS AND HIT THE LAST CAR IN LINE AT ABOUT 20MPH. THE INVESTIGATOR WAS UNABLE TO RECREATE THE CIRCUMSTANCES.

FRONT SENSOR WARNING REPEATEDLY GOES OFF WHEN STOPPED WHENEVER IT RAINS. IT WILL CONTINUE TO ALERT WHEN GOING FROM A FULL STOP TO MOVING FOR SEVERAL SECONDS AND STOP. IT WILL RESTART THE ALERT ONCE THE CAR COMES TO A FULL STOP AGAIN. THIS REPEATED ERRONEOUS SENSOR ALERT SERVES AS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS IT SERVES AS A CONSTANT AND DANGEROUS DISTRACTION TO THE DRIVER. EACH TIME THE ALERT GOES OFF IT DRIVES YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD AND ONTO THE ALERT ON THE DASHBOARD CREATING THE POTENTIAL FOR INVOLVEMENT IN ACCIDENTS. THIS ISSUE WAS NOTICED ON DELIVERY OF THE NEW LEASED VEHICLE. AT THAT TIME IT WAS THE LEFT FRONT SENSOR WHICH HAD THE SAME ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER 3 SEPARATE TIMES WHERE THE LEFT FRONT SENSOR WAS READJUSTED THEN ON THE NEXT VISIT REPLACED. PROBLEM CONTINUED, ON THE THIRD VISIT THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE CAR WAS REMOVED AND DONE WHICH RESOLVED THE LEFT FRONT SENSOR BUT RESULTED IN THE CONTINUOUS FRONT CENTER SENSOR ALERTING. VALLEY STREAM ACURA HAS FAILED TO ADDRESS THIS AS A SAFETY ISSUE AND HAS OFFERED NO RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM.

I WAS DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET APPROX. 10 MPH AND TURNED INTO A DRIVEWAY. THERE WAS ANOTHER VEHICLE PARKED AHEAD. I STOPPED HARD ON MY BRAKES BUT MY CAR DIDN'T STOP AND HIT THE PARKED CAR. AS IT HAPPENED SO QUICKLY, I MUST HAVE TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL, CONTINUED TO PRESS ON THE BRAKES BUT ENDED UP ALSO HITTING A BUILDING.

THE CAR DID NOT BRAKE WHEN APPROACHING A STOPLIGHT. CRASHED INTO THE LAST CAR IN LINE. INVESTIGATION SHOWED I STARTED BRAKING AT 35 MPH FOR 7+ SECONDS, BEFORE THE CRASH. TWO LINES IN BOTH DIRECTIONS, THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 40 MPH.

ACURA TLX, 2019, FUEL SYSTEM FAILED, SHIFTED GEARS ON ITS OWN AND I HAD TO IMMEDIATELY DIE TO SAFETY CONCERNS. THIS ISSUE FIRST APPEARS IN SEPTEMBER 2019, WITH 5K MILES. OK NOVEMBER 10,2019, TLX DISPLAY BOARDS FOR (NAVIGATION AND TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENTS, USE OF PHONE AND RADIO WOULD CYCLE DOWN ON IT OWN. THIS HAPPENED REPEATEDLY WHILE THE CAR IS IN DRIVE OR PARK. IT CAUSES A HUGE DISTRACTION WHILE DRIVING OR GOING INTO REVERSE BECAUSE YOU CANNOT UTILIZE YOUR BACK-UP CAMERA, ADJUST THE TEMPERATURE AND CAUSE A MAJOR DISTRACTION WHILE DRIVING. I'VE REPORTED THE ISSUE TO ACURA ADVISED ME ON WHAT STEPS I SHOULD TAKE TO SELF DIAGNOSE THIS. THIS AUTOMOBILE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS PROVIDED LITTLE TO NO UPDATES ON WHAT EXACTLY IS WRONG AND THE AUTOMOBILE HAS BEEN IN THEIR POSSESSION FOR OVER A WEEK.

VEHICLE TURNS ITSELF OFF AFTER BACKING IN AND SITTING IDLE FOR 30 - 60 SECONDS

THE SHAKING STOPPED WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NAPLETON'S PALM BEACH ACURA (6870 OKEECHOBEE BLVD, WEST PALM BEACH, FL 33411, (888) 980-7593) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.

2019 ACURA TLX 2.4L. PURCHASED BRAND NEW LESS THAN A MONTH AGO WITH LESS THAN 900 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. SUDDEN EMISSIONS PROBLEM AND PARKING BRAKE CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS FLASHING AFTER VEHICLE HAS BEEN SITTING/PARKED. THIS HAS HAPPENED REPEATEDLY AND SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN PROBLEM TO ACURA WHICH THE DEALER DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO REPAIR. WHEN DEALER CHECKS PROBLEM IT SHOWS A PROBLEM CODE INDICATING EMISSIONS LEAK BUT AFTER TESTING NOTHING CAN BE FOUND.

MY CAR STALLED FOR THE SECOND TIME ON JUNE 12, 2019. FIRST TIME WAS MARCH 31, 2019. SINCE I ALREADY GOT THE RECALL NOTICE (NHTSA RECALL 19V-060) BEFORE THE FIRST TIME, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY FIXED THE ISSUE BY DOING A SOFTWARE UPDATE. HOWEVER, EVEN AFTER THE SOFTWARE UPDATE, IT STALLED AGAIN ON JUNE 12TH, 2019. IT LOOKS LIKE EITHER A NEW ISSUE OR THEIR SOFTWARE UPDATE DID NOT FIX IT. THERE IS ALSO A POSSIBILITY OF THE UPDATED SOFTWARE HAVING NEW BUGS. IN MY CAR, THE ISSUE COULD BE WITH THE COMPUTER, OR OTHER ELECTRONICS OR MECHANICAL DEFECTS WHICH ACURA HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND OUT DURING MY SEVERAL VISITS TO THEIR SERVICE. THIS IS BECAUSE MOST OR ALL FEATURES OF THE CAR HAVE BEEN MALFUNCTIONING EVERSINCE I LEASED IT. ANOTHER BIG ISSUE IS, APPARENTLY, THE CAR COMPUTER DID NOT RECORD THE STALLING THAT HAPPENED ON MARCH 31ST. THEREFORE, IT LOOKS LIKE MY CAR HAS A BIGGER ISSUE THAN JUST SOFTWARE. THE CAR (2019 ACURA TLX) HAS NUMEROUS ISSUES EVER SINCE I LEASED IT IN SEPTEMBER 2018 AND THEY ALL CONTINUE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND NONE OF THE ISSUES HAD BEEN FIXED. ALL FEATURES ON THE CAR MALFUNCTION AND CAUSE DISTRACTION WHILE DRIVING. THE SAFETY FEATURES NOT ONLY DON'T SERVE THE PURPOSE OF SAFETY, BUT MALFUNCTION INSTEAD CAUSING DISTRACTION AND ARE VERY UNSAFE. THE CAR WOULD HAVE BEEN SAFER WITHOUT THESE MALFUNCTIONING SAFETY FEATURES. ACURA HAS NOT FIXED ANY OF THESE MALFUNCTIONS, ALTHOUGH I HAVE VISITED THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. TO TOP THAT THE CAR STALLED TWICE WHICH IS EVEN MORE SERIOUS. ALTHOUGH, MY APPOINTMENT IS FOR 6/24/19 (I COULD NOT GET AN EARLIER ONE SINCE THEY DON'T SEEM TO TAKE IT SERIOUSLY), THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP CALLED ME A FEW DAYS AFTER SCHEDULING IT AND SAID SHE DID NOT EXPECT IT TO HELP. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE SLOWING TO AVOID RUNNING INTO THE CAR IN FRONT AND INSTEAD YOU INCREASING SPEED TOWARD THE BACK OF THE CAR IN FRONT. ACURA CUSTOMER SERVICE SAY THAT IS THE WAY THE CAR IS DESIGNED, BUT DOES NOT DEFEND THE LOGIC OF THAT DESIGN. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT THIS HAS NOT CAUSED SERIOUS SITUATIONS AND ACCIDENTS.
