Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022 Tundra vehicles equipped with a Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) system. The parking assist electronic control unit (ECU) software may prevent transmission of the rearview camera signal during cold weather, preventing the rearview image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the parking assist ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 2, 2022. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is 22TA04.
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles. The flange nuts on the axle shaft sub-assemblies can loosen over time and potentially cause one or both axle shaft sub-assemblies to separate from the axle housing.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the rear axle assembly, tighten the axle flange nuts, and replace any damaged axle-related components if necessary, free of charge. Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles equipped with a Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) system. Incorrect programming of the parking-assist electronic control unit (ECU) software, may cause the front camera image to appear on the multimedia display instead of the rear camera image when the shifter is placed into reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Toyota Tundra, Lexus LX, and 2024 Lexus GX vehicles equipped with a V35A engine. Debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine and cause the main bearings to fail, which can result in an engine stall and loss of drive power.
Remedy: The remedy is currently under development. Once the repair is available, repairs will be performed free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed December 16, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated April 2026. Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles. The plastic fuel tube routed near metallic brake lines may chafe against the brake lines and become damaged, possibly resulting in a fuel leak.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022 Lexus NX250, NX350, and Toyota Tundra vehicles. The Skid Control ECU within the Brake Actuator Assembly may falsely detect an overcurrent condition of the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) Actuator and enter a failsafe mode which prevents the EPB from being engaged. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

A software error in the combination meter's electronic control unit (ECU) may cause the Instrument Panel LCD display to go blank. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Control and Displays."

The load carrying capacity modification label states the incorrect load carrying capacity, which can result in an overloaded vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles that may be equipped with a Toyota genuine accessory tonneau cover. The tonneau cover attachment joints may come loose and allow the cover to detach.
Remedy: Owners of the subject vehicles will be notified by first class mail to return their vehicles to a Toyota dealer. Dealer will install new hardware (bolts, spacers, washers, nuts, rubber washers and cotter pins) to the existing bracket and tonneau cover. If the tonneau cover has tears or splits at the mounting holes to the extent that new hardware cannot be installed, it will be replaced with a new tonneau cover and hardware. The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Tundra. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V767000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed before the vehicle stalled slow pace and the vehicle stalled. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
First engine has not failed yet, it will happen. It presents a safety defect potential stalling , engine failure, or worse. ... It is same engine as non-hybrids . build date December 2023. Cuurent milage 23k . Toyota excluded hybrids with no proof safely exit hwy under electric power. i avoid passing lane for this very reason. Section no 6 i find very interesting and disturbing. While Toyota voluntary did recall , the report indicated engine failure not from debris but main bearing failure defects. grenade waiting to happen. hybrid owners with false safety from Toyota that can get over is a very dangerous message. Same defect engine exact as ones under recall. They are currently being sued over this. NHTSA must take action to include same defect engine in the hybrids. also putting link to a video of a tear down where took nearly 3 years get a blown engine for teardown. I see why now. 2026 engine has fixed main bearings with more oil pathways. IF IT WAS EVER A DEBRIS ISSUE , TOYOTA WOULD HAVE NEVER FIXED DEFECT MAIN BEARINGS AND MORE OIL PATHWAYS. 2024 Toyota Tundra 4X4 SR5 CrewMax 6.5, VIN: [XXX] , 28,500 miles. Three distinct, worsening vibration issues affecting separate systems: 1 — Powertrain/Driveline: Significant vibration on initial acceleration, under tow load, and on inclines. Suspected driveshaft carrier bearing, U-joint, or engine main bearing failure. Recall 25V-767 (V35A engine bearing debris, 2022–2024 Tundra) — VIN recall status to be confirmed at [XXX] . Component available for inspection. 2 — Highway vibration 40–70 mph: Constant speed-dependent vibration in steering wheel, seat, and floor. Worsening and expanding in speed range over time. Impairs steering feedback — direct safety hazard at highway speed. Suspected wheel bearing or hub failure. No warning lamps present at any time. 3 — Braking: Violent vibration during heavy deceleration, downhill braking, and rapid stops. Severely impairs controlled stopping and risks loss of vehicle control. Consistent with rotor degradation per Toyota TSB (Nov. 2025, 2022–2026 Tundra). Repair history: OEM tires replaced at 20,000 miles — abnormal camber-induced outside shoulder wear. Toyota issued a Limited Service Campaign for this identical defect on 2022–2023 models but explicitly excluded 2024. All 4 tires replaced twice. Multiple alignments, balancings, and rotations performed at L&S Toyota, Beckley, WV (3+ dealer visits) and an independent tire chain (3+ visits). No resolution. Defect is mechanical, not tire-related. No DTCs or warning lights at any visit. Safety risk: Braking vibration risks loss of control on downgrades and emergency stops. Highway vibration impairs steering feedback over extended driving. Towing vibration creates trailer instability on public roads. Requesting NHTSA investigate and include 2024 Tundra in the existing Limited Service Campaign covering this known defect on prior model years. approaching a round about at a slow rate of speed, prior to entering I noticed there was time to safely enter the round about ahead of a car also entering the roundabout from another direction. I pushed the accelerator pedal to about 30% at the time I choose to enter the traffic circle and attempted to enter. The truck did nothing in response except keep rolling forward due to the momentum I already had while approaching the round about / traffic circle. After about 2 seconds, I pressed the pedal to about 70%. This still did nothing for about another 1 second, before the truck accelerated as if I had pressed the pedal to 70% from a stop. fast acceleration into the round about which caused a narrow miss between me and the original car mentioned that was also entering the traffic circle.
The contact owns a 2022 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that the engine was blown while driving at 10 MPH. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The engine was replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that there was no warranty coverage associated with the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 71,000.
Very commonly when the truck is “cold” after sitting overnight, the truck fails to accelerate from a stop while pushing the accelerator pedal down gradually (such as when leaving a stop sign at an intersection. This lack of acceleration makes me feel a loss of control as I cannot get the truck to accelerate. For example, driving out of my neighborhood into oncoming road traffic I feel as if the truck doesn’t sense my pedal input. The truck just “floats” for at least a few seconds before the pedal reaches a point where the truck recognizes the input and activates acceleration. I can see this situation causing a safety hazard such as when trying to gain speed from a stop. The dealerships says it’s a non-issue and normal for a turbo-charged engine. I have owned cars with turbo-charged engines and have never experienced this bad of lag before. I don’t feel this is normal. My truck currently has no engine issues and is maintained routinely.
It has been occurring ever since I purchased the truck in October 2023. I finally thought I should say something. Usually, the truck is at a complete stop. The truck can be warm or cold. As I press the accelerator down to move in the forward direction, there is a hesitation. No immediate acceleration. It lasts for at least one second before the acceleration begins. This can create a serious safety issue when there is cross traffic. Putting myself and passengers in possible danger of a collision. This occurs almost every time I drive the vehicle. When I had my truck in for a recall on 4/19/26, I asked a Toyota service manager if this is a common problem. He told me it is very common in the 2024 Toyota Tundra, with a V6 twin turbo. This leads me to believe that the Toyota Corporation is aware of the problem. As per the service manager, Toyota has not done anything about this issue and there isn’t a repair for it.
Recall has been out almost a year and no remedy. Does not seem like a timely manner for back up lights.
Component/System Failure: The failure involves the engine cooling system, specifically the radiator, fan shroud, and oil cooling lines. The oil cooling lines are improperly routed or positioned, causing them to press against the plastic fan shroud. Over time, this pressure deforms the shroud inward, leading it to rub against the aluminum radiator and create pinhole leaks. The damaged components are available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: This defect poses a serious safety risk due to sudden coolant loss and potential engine overheating. This can result in loss of power, engine failure, and unexpected breakdowns in traffic, increasing the risk of accidents, especially at highway speeds. Reproduction/Confirmation: This issue has been widely reported among 2023 Toyota Tundra owners and confirmed through visual inspection by owners and independent mechanics. The consistent nature of the failure indicates a design defect rather than isolated incidents. Inspection History: The vehicle has been inspected, and deformation of the fan shroud along with visible contact and wear on the radiator confirms the issue. Dealerships have acknowledged the condition but refused warranty repairs. Toyota has not issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB). Warning Signs/Symptoms: There are typically no warning lights or messages prior to failure. In some cases, coolant loss or overheating occurs only after radiator damage has already developed. Additional Statement: This is a widespread defect caused by improper routing or clearance of oil cooling lines. Despite numerous similar reports, Toyota has not issued a TSB or recall and has denied warranty coverage, leaving owners responsible for repairs related to an apparent design flaw.
While driving on a two-lane highway at approximately 80–85 mph and attempting to pass another vehicle, the engine suddenly shut off without warning. The vehicle lost all propulsion, and steering assist was significantly reduced, creating a dangerous situation and nearly resulting in a head-on collision with oncoming traffic. Warning lights including check engine and low power steering illuminated immediately after the stall. The vehicle would not restart for several minutes and was temporarily disabled in the roadway. The vehicle was later inspected by a dealership, which confirmed through diagnostic data that multiple engine stall events occurred at highway speeds. The inspection also identified system-wide electrical voltage drops and multiple communication faults between control modules. My vehicle sustained a flat tire after driving. I was able to make it home safely. Vehicle was taken to dealer who found no evidence of a nail. This is the second incident. The first incident occurred while I was driving but thankfully I Was able to pull into a gas station. After research I found out that the tires on the new Toyota tundra have had weak side wall issues causing the tires the explode or wear out prematurely. I have tire warranty through Toyota. I believe Toyota offered this warranty due to their knowledge of the tires being defective. Other issues have been the wheel alignment and premature thread wear which is also a known problem with these vehicles.
While Driving at 75mph there was sudden violent shake of Truck and it was not until I reduced the speed to 55 that it stopped. Then it happened again for the second time in the same day. After a week it is still doing the same sporadic but the truck feels jumping. Took it to the Toyota Dealer and they discarded any tire balance issue and they said they need to recreate the issue in order to be able to diagnose the problem. My concern is safety and that sudden violent shake loose the control.
