Recent Owner Complaints
Direct reports filed with NHTSA by Toyota Crown owners — 2023–2026 model years.
The main instrument panel on numerous occasions remains locked on “Experience Drive Connect”, usually when starting the vehicles, but occasionally when the vehicle is being driven. Sometimes when we can turn off the car and restart, the screen will begin normal functions. Yesterday the screen remained locked after 5 shut-downs and we had to drive with a locked screen. This causes the loss of some critical functions. The fact that there remains no remedy places drivers at greater risk and should not be acceptable to the FTC nor affected Toyota drivers. We should not have to trade a higher end 2024 vehicle with 10K miles for another brand to remedy this issue. Additionally, the vehicle may lose trade value with a pending recall that prevents dealers from certifying the auto.
See attached document for complaint.
Issue with Rear Camera not turning off when car is placed in Drive. notified Toyota Corp twice and dealership about this issue. There is a total loss of multimedia display when this happens. When I put the car in Park turn off the the car and restart the rear camera turns off. I have notified Toyota twice about this issue. The response I get from the dealership is that there is a recall for the camera on the Crown, but it does not exist yet. Toyota corporate told me that I need to have the dealership do a diagnostic done on the car.
I was backing up the vehicle into a driveway and then again the screen went blank and no back up lights as well. This vehicle had just been back from the dealer and they had requested photos which I did immediately and back to the dealer for about the 6th time for the same issue.
Extreme glare from the hud when the sun is to the rear of the vehicle. Moves back and forth as your driving. This is very distracting because of its extreme brightness. Brighter the sun brighter the glare.
The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Crown. The contact stated that the instrument panel screen had turned blank. The contact received the recall notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V595000(Electrical System). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who confirmed that the recall remedy parts were not available. The contact was advised to trade the vehicle in. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
With "hold" feature engaged after 3 to 4 minutes car moved forward ON IT's own and main panel displayed EPS TURNED on. this happened 4 times in about 15 minutes. AFTER I had car in the dealership THAT DAY.
The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Crown. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V595000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
I had Hold feature engaged during a I-70 construction traffic stop. after 7 or 8 minutes auto rolled forward by it's self and something like eps turned on. I was floored at this hazzard and it could have killed someone, if they were infront of my auto.
Intermittently as I press on the brake, the engine loses power, engine feels like it is going to die and the charge meter on the dash display drops to no charge. Right before the engine dies the engine regains charge on the dash display charge meter and the engine returns to normal. So far the engine has never totally died on me yet.
When at a stop and making a right turn the vehicle shudders or lags when I push the gas. This is consistent with another case I found on the internet 11595863. I have taken it to the dealership 3 times since purchase. The last time they reset software but I am afraid to drive it because the reset the software the first time.
With an odometer reading of 39000 miles, a piece of trim, the piece in front of the hood, flew up and the clips are broken. This happened while driving at 83mph on an interstate.
