CAR KEEPS LOCKING ITSELF, SOMETIMES WITH THE KEYS INSIDE. It is available for inspection. This issue is a major problem as the driver can be left stranded or if there are young children or pets in the car. The dealer has confirmed the problem and has no solution. We have tried all the lock settings to no avail. No warning signals from the car; we bought the vehicle used as a demo with 10,000km. Problems began immediately.

Power Train /Vehicle Speed Control /Service Brakes02/08/2025

The car would not go into Park. The park button flickered, and a message appeared on the dashboard stating that the vehicle was too fast to be put into Park, even though the car was completely stopped in a parking lot with the brake pedal engaged. After multiple attempts to press the button and engage the parking gear without success, I turned off the car using the power button, which eventually allowed it to shift into Park. This situation is extremely dangerous. If the parking gear were to engage unexpectedly and hit any objects or people, the consequences could be catastrophic. I have reached out to Maserati with this concern, but it has taken an inordinate amount of time for them to respond. An active case has been opened with Maserati regarding this issue, and it has been documented that, in the event of an accident caused by this malfunction, Maserati would be held responsible and liable.

The contact had to contact the Police, who attempted to unlock the vehicle but failed in unlocking the vehicle. A Police report was filed. The message “key-not-sensing” was displayed prior to the failure. The local dealer informed the contact that there was no fix and that the feature was the standard feature.
