Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E and 2022 Maverick vehicles. The rear seat belt buckles may not be properly attached to the rear floor assembly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022 Maverick vehicles. The fuel tank may have been damaged by drill holes during the installation of the spray-in bed-liner. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 301, "Fuel System Integrity."
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel tank as necessary, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters were mailed on January 28, 2022. In the event of an engine failure, engine oil and fuel vapor may be released into the engine compartment and accumulate near ignition sources such as hot engine or exhaust components, possibly resulting in an engine compartment fire.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park and shut off the engine as quickly as possible if they hear unexpected engine noises, notice a reduction in vehicle power, or see smoke. The engine block heater may overheat when the vehicle is parked with the block heater plugged in.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Bronco Sport and Maverick vehicles. The Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) unit may fail to correctly detect the presence of an adult or child in the front passenger seat. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Remedy: Dealers will replace the passenger seat occupant classification sensor, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed April 10, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated in November 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26C19. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2025 Maverick and 2026 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with a 1.5L or 2.0L MPC engine and an engine block heater. The engine block heater may overheat when the vehicle is parked with the block heater plugged in.
Remedy: Owners are advised not to plug in their block heater until the vehicle is remedied. Dealers will replace the block heater, and inspect and replace the electrical cord if necessary, free of charge. Owners will also have an alternative option to replace the engine block heater element with a threaded plug, and remove the block heater electrical cord. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed April 27, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in June 2026. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V343. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S52. Vehicle started experiencing loss of power while driving on the highway. After having it towed to the local Ford dealership, we were informed that our transmission was shot and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had 62k miles on and no dash light warning and no ford pass warnings about the issue. It cost us $7k to replace and 4 months without the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel started shaking, prompting the contact to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle was pulled over, and a squealing, clicking, and grinding sound started coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on three separate occasions and was diagnosed with a CV shaft failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.
"Powertrain System Fault" was given from App, "service engine soon" on dash along with check engine light and "wrench". Dealership said Hybrid battery needs replaced. Dealership said "We don't know what the battery issue will effect if it does go bad." Corporate says "wear and tear item after 36000 miles or 3 years". I have also had to replace the 12V battery this year. I do not see how both batteries can "go bad" within 4 years of manufacturing... Online says truck could go into limp mode with no warning. Truck is available for inspection upon request. If truck will go into limp mode with no warning, could cause many safety issues. Problem initially occurred 3 days ago. Dealership cleared codes and has not happened again. Vehicle has only been inspected by dealership Only issue with electrical before EV battery was the 12V battery that went bad and had to be replaced. Went to start up the truck one afternoon (had been driving all day before this) and the lights on the dash popped on and the "Service Engine Soon" popped up and beeped. Drove it home that Saturday and did not drive it until dropped it off at dealership Monday morning. There must be something electrically causing problems since I just replaced my 12V battery about 6 months ago and now the EV battery is "bad". I've never heard of a Ford 12V battery not lasting at least 8 years. Multiple people I know have original 12V batteries in vehicles 2018 and older... Batteries should not be considered a "wear and tear item" batteries should be covered under their own warranties. Having basically no warranty on batteries poses a severe health risk with the disposal and creation of the old and new batteries.
When the battery voltage suddenly drops the vehicle loses its power steering making slow speed turns extremely difficult. This poses a serious risk of the inability to control the direction of the vehicle and this makes a crash extremely probable.
Over the past 1-1/2 years I have experienced my transmission going into neutral and loss of power 4 times. The first time it happened I thought my hand hit the shifter and moved it into neutral. After a few more incidents and seeing the recall, I realized this was the cause of the issue. I noticed the NHTSA website has recall number 25V881000. Today I contacted Ford Motor Company regarding this recall and they do not show it against my 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid. I have experienced the problem as indicated below and have not received a recall letter on this. Was my VIN left out of this recall? The contact owns a 2022 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 55-65 MPH, the vehicle shut off. The driver was unable to pull over to the side of the road. The driver was able to jumpstart the vehicle and continued driving. The contact stated that the failure recurred while pulling into a parking lot. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be picked up due to safety concerns. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that a new 12-Volt battery cable overlay was needed, and the current battery cable needed to be disabled. The dealer related the failure to the Ford Customer Satisfaction Program: 22B39 (2022 Maverick HEV No Start Condition), but the contact was informed that the Customer Satisfaction Program had expired. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but denied assistance. The failure mileage was 80,000.
Vehicle started to have a shake under acceleration. Reported it to multiple dealerships and requested them to specifically observe the CV axles. Finally secured an appointment on 11-24-2025 while vehicle was under factory warranty. Tenvoorde Ford informed me (the owner) that the CV axles were “fine” and a non issue. Shake was still present. Kept driving the vehicle and now, five months later with no factory warranty left on the vehicle, shake still present, and received a second opinion today. CV axle needs replacement. ~68,000 miles on the odometer. I exclusively commute on interstate 94 in central Minnesota, hardly drive in cities. There is no justifiable reason when the vehicle was at the dealership that the CV axle went from being just fine to needing replacement. This is a very common concern with these Ford Mavericks and Ford needs to conduct a recall before people get injured on the public roadways.
This is a supplemental filing to my existing NHTSA complaint #11715308. I am requesting that the Office of Defects Investigation open a formal Preliminary Evaluation into the 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid braking system. Since my original complaint, the following has occurred: Ford Motor Company denied my claim on April 2, 2026 through a three-sentence letter from a paralegal at Erskine Law PC in Michigan. The denial addressed none of the evidence submitted including repair orders, fault codes from Ford's own OASIS system, a recorded call proving warranty claim suppression, and a notarized sworn statement. The vehicle now has 107,982 miles. The ABS defect remains unrepaired after four attempts and over 50 days out of service. Active fault codes C052E and U0418 were confirmed in Ford's OASIS system when the vehicle was returned unrepaired on January 28, 2026. Ford has already issued Recall 25V787000 for brake booster ECU overheating causing loss of brake power assist in Maverick vehicles, demonstrating prior corporate knowledge of braking defects in this model line. There are currently 149 brake-related complaints in the NHTSA database for the 2024 Ford Maverick with no open ODI investigation. On [XXX], the braking defect caused a collision (APD Crash Report [XXX], no driver error assigned). I have a notarized sworn statement linking the collision to the unrepaired defect. I have concurrent active complaints with the NM Department of Justice (XXX), BBB AUTO LINE (XXX), FTC (#XXX), CFPB (#XXX), and Ford's internal SpeakUp ethics program (#XXX). I am formally requesting ODI review of the 2024 Maverick Hybrid braking system given the volume of complaints, the existing recall on related models, and Ford's documented refusal to repair my vehicle despite confirmed fault codes in their own diagnostic system. The vehicle was at the dealer for a loud noise on the hinge area of the driver side door. I was contacted by the dealer and told That the door has cracked spot welds and needs to be replaced. The dealer contacted Ford and for opening offered to pay for a portion of the repair leaving me with over $1000 dollars out of pocket.This is a common problem with this vehicle and the Ford escape see Ford TSB 2356B. The vehicle is still under warranty but this is a defective item and should be covered 100% by Ford.
There is a Ford Customer Satisfaction Program, 25N09 issued September 2025 which covers half shaft replacement for Mavericks manufactured from 12/01/21 through 11/23/22. The upgraded beefier replacement half shafts were not available until late 2024. The program states that if the half shafts on one side fails that that both half shafts are to be replaced. My 2022 Maverick was manufactured 11/21/2021 (the second month of production), a mere 10 days before the initial date of coverage. The half shaft on one side was replaced on 01/10/25 with the upgraded version of the half shaft under warranty. They did not replace the other side. If the beefier replacement half shafts were not available until late 2024 how am I to believe that my Maverick does not have the same under engineered pieces in the other 68,000 2022 Mavericks?
Upon acceleration, the front end vibrates heavily. light pedal depression it isn't quite as noticeable. But medium pressure to gas peddle & it feels like the whole underneath of the engine/ maybe front axle is about to fall apart. the harder the acceleration, the more intense the shaking/vibrating is.

The contact was informed that there was no assistance available. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
