Vehicle Speed Control /Back Over Prevention /Forward Collision AvoidanceCRASH03/18/2026

On December 27, 2025, while using the vehicle’s Automated Park Assistant feature to reverse into my assigned parking space in my enclosed residential garage, my 2025 BMW X6 failed to detect a fixed concrete structural column directly in its path. Rather than braking or alerting me (the driver) to the obstacle, the vehicle accelerated into the column, causing rear bumper damage. No warning was issued by the parking collision system prior to or during impact. My car was subsequently inspected at an authorized BMW dealership (Braman BMW, Miami). The dealership pulled backend diagnostic data and forwarded it to BMW North America Engineering for review. BMW Engineering confirmed that a sensor related error code was thrown and logged at the moment of the incident while the Automated Park Assistant was actively engaged. Engineering attributed the code to “sensor noise/overwhelm” but somehow concluded it was unrelated to the failure to brake or detect the obstacle. BMW North America’s official position is that there is no defect with the vehicle and has closed the case. No physical testing of the parking sensors, cameras, wiring, or software was performed at any point despite my request. Both Braman BMW in Miami and BMW North America have declined to provide me with the full diagnostic data, error codes, or engineering analysis reviewed internally. This incident represents a potential safety risk not only to me as the sole driver of this vehicle but to pedestrians and bystanders present during automated parking operations.

Structure01/24/2026

On three separate occasions the back doors of the truck opened while the car was at speed. The first time (1/20/26) it was the passenger-side back door. No one was sitting in the car aside from the driver. Driver noticed the door ajar light come on after being at speed and then looked back to see the back door slightly opened, then pulled over and closed it. The second time (1/23/26) was three days later with a driver, passenger (front) and child (carseat behind driver) in the car leaving home. Driver noticed the door ajar light come on after being at speed and then looked back to see the driver-side back door slightly opened, then pulled over and closed it. The third time (1/23/26) was the same day, a few hours later with same driver, passenger, child in carseat on a return trip home. The passenger in the front looked back to see the driver-side back door completely open and notified the driver who then pulled over and closed the door. We called the dealership and they told us to bring it in immediately. We brought it in around 2/3p and by end of day the dealership responded with the following: "11224 checked the function of all doors. found normal operation. all doors working properly. scanned vehicle, no fault codes stored. please have customer make sure no one is the backseat that could've possible opened the door by accident. if a child is in the back seat pls be sure to turn child lock on by pushing switch on inner part of door. no problem found. have customer monitor and return if necessary." There was no indication that they drove the car and tried to replicate the conditions. Either way, there seems to be no explanation or resolution.

Service Brakes01/14/2025

Component or System: Integrated Brake System Description of the Issue: The issue with the Integrated Brake System on my vehicle (VIN: [XXX] ) was fully resolved by BMW of Fort Lauderdale on January 13, 2025. All repairs were completed, including replacement of necessary components, as indicated in the attached invoice. Despite the repair being finalized, the recall status for my vehicle (NHTSA Recall Number: 24V104) still appears as “Incomplete” in both NHTSA and CarFax systems. This delay in updating the recall status is causing unnecessary complications, as the repair has already been documented and confirmed by the dealership. Request: I kindly ask for your assistance in ensuring that the recall status for my vehicle is updated to “Completed” in your system as soon as possible. All relevant documents are available upon request, and I can provide further details if necessary. Was the problem confirmed by a dealer or service center? Yes, the issue was confirmed and resolved by BMW of Fort Lauderdale. Were there any warning lights or messages before the repair? Yes, a warning message related to the brake system appeared prior to the repair. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Service Brakes /Forward Collision Avoidance12/16/2024

The braking system of my 2024 BMW X6 (VIN: [XXX] ) is critically malfunctioning due to the unresolved safety recall 24V-104. The Integrated Brake System has failed, resulting in warning lamps and error messages on the dashboard. This has also caused essential safety systems, such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Automatic Emergency Braking, to stop functioning entirely. This situation is unacceptable and poses an immediate and severe safety risk. My family and I cannot rely on this vehicle, as it fails to respond properly when braking is required. It is unsafe to drive under any conditions. I have reached out to multiple BMW service centers in Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton, Florida, but was told there are no replacement parts available to fix this critical defect. Service advisors advised me to drive carefully, which is an absurd solution for a car in this condition. I financed this vehicle at $1,600 per month, and now I am left with a dangerous and unusable car. I demand that immediate action be taken to resolve this recall, including expediting the availability of the required parts. I also request that I be prioritized and placed at the top of any waiting list to have this issue resolved as soon as possible. This matter needs urgent attention to ensure the safety of my family and others on the road. I urge NHTSA to intervene and work with BMW to find a solution for affected owners immediately.
